may i ask how you've gotten to the level of skill you're at with your art when you're studying another field? like obviously you studied lots but how did you go about finding out what and how to study to hone your anatomy, painting, animation etc. skills?
If you crack this please let me know because I'm struggling lol. Honestly when it comes to studying art I'm not the person to ask, my technical skill is quite far behind where I would like it to be, I've never really studied art in a dedicated way and moreso backed into learning things just by doing stuff I feel like working on. Most of my drawings fall pretty squarely in my comfort zone and I don't do a lot of time-consuming projects, like it's probably obvious I haven't done much animating since starting grad school lol
The reality though is that I choose to spend time on art at the expense of a lot of other things (including my school/research/teaching work... I am not a disciplined student). I can't say I recommend that approach necessarily buuut I think the best advice I can give is to think about what's important to you and what you personally want to get out of making art, if you want to enjoy it as a hobby then I think you should do whatever whenever you want that feels fun. That's what I've been doing, but it's starting to wear on me a lot because I do want to build a stronger body of work and work on more ambitious projects. If you do have a specific goal in mind then whatever that is will direct the kind of things you'll want to work on and practice. But be kind to yourself because that's a difficult thing to do even without having to split your time and energy

💭 “Is that God… or just me?” Sis, you’re not alone. If you've ever wrestled with that question—you’re in good company. God’s voice isn’t chaotic. It doesn’t rush, confuse, or pressure. 100 Days of Productivity ⇢ #037
* winter break edition!
Tumblr media
Tuesday, Dec. 17th, 2024: Today I actually left the house, which is good. Hopefully I go for a run tomorrow since I got new leg stuff.
Today's Accomplishments: ʚ Words written: 919 (start: 340 ; end: 1259) - not as much as I hoped for, but it's alright. ʚ I chose first person over third person limited. I just needed to really understand the vision I had for this book, and I think first person works better. ʚ I got a suction seal for my prosthetic to make running easier! (I have a pin system, so I didn't think I needed one, but it helps!) ʚ I did not end up reading Synaptic Self. I got lazy, and I was very tired all day. ʚ My dad fixed my phone! I can use it again! My screen time will no longer be 4 minutes on average, but that's fine I guess. To-Do For Tomorrow: ʚ Get my book to 2500 words ʚ Read up to page 150 of "Synaptic Self" ʚ Clean my bathtub
I'm making it a goal now to lose 15lbs, because my prosthetist said that if I do my insurance will cover a new foot for me. I want an All-Pro, and I have an XC Torsion. It's because my current foot is set to be flexible enough for my weight, so if I lose significant weight it will be too stiff and I'll need a new one. Scamming my insurance company is my favorite hobby, so I have to get on it. Once I start running it'll probably come off naturally anyway.

here's the thing about playing around with generative "ai" aka applied statistics based on stolen data: even if it's just for teehee haha laughs and funtime for you, even if you're not using it to replace real talent in a professional setting, it's a tacit endorsement of these shady as fuck, unethical training models and companies that will happily use your teehee haha generated memes to sell their tech to others who will then happily replace real creative people with technology that seeks to undermine them and then have to rehire those people at half the pay and with none of the credit to fix the absolute sludge they're generating in place of a proper job. and that's the optimistic outcome because the alternative is they say "good enough" about this meaningless, lowest-common-denominator sludge and send it out to consumers as is.
even if you're just the consumer in this system and not one of the creatives getting undercut, why in the world would you want to read or watch or interact with something that no one could even be bothered to make themselves? why in the world would you want to encourage that future?

Decide what you want. Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it and believe it’s possible for you. And then close your eyes every day for several minutes, and visualize having what you already want, feeling the feelings of already having it. Come out of that and focus on what you’re grateful for already, and really enjoy it.
Then go into your day and release it to the Universe all while working hard daily, faithfully, consistently, and trusting that the Universe will figure out how to manifest it in your life.

The Corinthian holding Daniel in a baby carrier strapped to his chest while he goes about his nightmare business because he might be babysitting but he's still got to work—
Stalking towards a Dreamer with his knife drawn, smiling like the sexy little threat he is:
Daniel: Bah!
The Dreamer:
The Corinthian:
The Corinthian: ok let’s skip the foreplay i’m gonna cut out your eyes now

✨Real Talk for the Woman of Faith✨ Stop showing off your good works if your secret place is still riddled with demons. This isn’t judgment. This is love. This is healing. This is a mirror. We can't keep: ❌ Calling bondage “balance” ❌ Cussing on Saturday and preaching on Sunday ❌ Masking rebellion as being “real” ❌ Living lukewarm and calling it grace Sis, I used to be her. Drank to relax Smoked to cope Cursed like it was cute Quoted Scripture online while sinning in silence Let’s be honest... That’s not freedom. That’s filtered rebellion. Here’s the truth: 👉 You can’t claim freedom if sin is your safe place. 👉 You can’t expect the blessing while hiding the bondage. 👉 God sees the real you—and STILL calls you worthy of healing. This isn’t about behavior modification. This is about heart transformation. Let the Holy Spirit clean house. Not just your living room—every hidden room. Every secret drawer. Because where the Spirit of the Lord is… there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17) ✨Challenge Check-In✨ Ask yourself: Am I walking in freedom… or just dancing with my flesh? Is my secret place sacred—or just silent? Do I love God enough to actually change? You don’t need a platform to perform. You need a secret place to be transformed. Let’s return to holiness—not just hustle. Let’s get healed, not just hyped. 💬 This is your mirror moment, sis. Not for likes—but for truth, clarity, and breakthrough. #FaithUnfiltered #NoMoreCompromise #ConvictionIsLove #HealingStartsHere #LetGodDoHisThing #SetApart #BoldInTruth #ChristianWoman #SpiritualHealing #HolySpiritConviction #MotivatingCreativity
