I learned today that they can't fly in flight class if they're not wearing P.E outfits

Had a dream where Vil was offered a position to be the potions professor (no clue what happened to Crewel) after graduation and it was a whole big thing when he decided to accept but we all knew it was just a thinly veiled excuse to keep him in the school and relevant to the gacha game. He even has a voice line joking to Yuu about how Yuu should work hard and maybe he'd taken them on as a Potions teaching assistant after graduation - foreshadowing the excuse that will be used to keep the player character in the school for the gacha game once the first years reach graduation too
When I woke up I was disoriented enough that I genuinely couldn't tell for a few minutes if the Vil -> potions prof pipeline was just smth the dream made up or if it was an actual recent Twst development that my brain added details to haha
But in relevancy to the above, do you think Twst is going to have a weird time loop going on forever until the lifespan of the game ends?
The characters have aged in the main storyline, which means at some point the third years will be nearing graduation but would they let that actually happen considering the logistics of how the Twst game is set up?

Riddle, Leona, Azul as teachers
Riddle: “Next, turn to page 128 of the textbook. The next part we read aloud will be on the test, so take notes.” Magic History professor. Exemplary teacher. Very nice to serious, good students. Definitely asks questions during class. Usually calm but gets mad at cheeky students and collars them. Supervises Equestrian Club.
Leona: “Teacher! There are students fighting in the cafeteria!” / “Leave’m alone, just let the idiots fight among themselves ‘til they’re done.” Ancient Curses professor. As long as you don’t go against the school rules, he’ll let anything slide. Surprisingly good at taking care of others. If you want to learn, he’ll teach you fairly. Supervises Magift/Spelldrive Club.
Azul: “Welcome, new students!/It’s nice to meet you, new students! I am your Alchemy instructor, Azul Ashengrotto. If you have any worries outside of class, such as in your daily lives, please feel free to come talk to me. I will offer a helping hand, just as the great Sea Witch would… fufufu.” Alchemy professor. Very kind despite being employed at NRC, so many freshmen fall for his scams. His desire to find people’s greatest weaknesses aside, he’s an excellent teacher. Supervises Board Game Club. Owns Mostro Lounge.
Kalim, Vil, Idia, Malleus as teachers
Kalim: “Let’s do an improv live for today’s class!” Musicology professor. Super energetic even in early morning classes. Frequently talks about Jamil; you end up learning about both music and Jamil in his classes. Supervises Light/Pop Music Club.
Vil: “Do you have any questions about the class?” Potionology professor. Beautiful. Every generation of Pomefiore students has a fan club for him, but every generation of Ignihyde students fears him. Also good at taking care of the students so he is popular with them (like Leona is). Supervises Film Research Club.
Idia: “Hey, prof!” / “Eh… me…?” No subject is listed. Mostly runs lessons remotely. The few times when he does show up on campus in-person, the students go nuts. “You’re a teacher, at least wear a suit.” — Riddle. “At least tie up your hair.” — Vil. Because Idia is too scared to disagree with either of them, he obeys. Advises Board Game Club. Feels like a completely different person when he plays with Azul.
Malleus: “Staying up so late again, child of man?” Subject is listed as ??? Always a wandering near Ramshackle at night. Students are scared of him, but he would gladly help with their studies if they asked. Supervises Gargoyle Studies Club (members: 0).
Azul's high school memories - Azul is asked about his time as a student. He recalls when Leona sanded his contracts, when he was kidnapped by S.T.Y.X., and when Malleus put him to sleep with disaster-level magic. His poor student can’t keep up with the insanity of his recollections.
Leona's mark (part 1) - a mob student asks Leona to doodle on their exam if they get a good grade (since their other teachers do this).
Staff meeting - due to reports of a strange light near Ramshackle at night, the teachers must take patrol shifts. Idia complains, Leona suggests the light is some troublesome student waving around a light stick. Idia is offended by the insinuation that he might be the guilty culprit. Kalim wants to see him with the light sticks. Riddle is mad they’re off-topic; Vil calms him. The truth is that Malleus is the source of the light. He wants to interact with students, but they run away from him.
Leona's mark (part 2) - mob student shares the doodle they got from Leona to others; the mobs are distracted by the thought of that doodle.
The reason why you were struggling to tell if your dream was real or not is because dreams are actually processed by the brain as though they were actual events that happened to us irl. Very interesting trivia!
I don't know if we can really accurately predict the future of Twst, but personally I wouldn't want a time loop. Setting aside me just not being a fan of that trope, I think it would be really pointless because it would regress the characters and/or keep them from further developing. That's never been what Twst has aimed for. We are meant to want to see these characters overcome their trauma and develop closer bonds with one another, not see them repeat the same mistakes over and over again. I also think that, with book 7 confirming the passage of time, Twst intends to slowly inch forward (recall that 7 books took us 5+ years to reach). They'll probably find some loopholes or ways to keep graduating characters around and/or introduce new characters into the main cast to keep it stacked. After all, events are always there to be non-canon to the main story and offer alternate paths. Yuu might honestly be trapped in Twisted Wonderland forever + take on a career as NRC staff or something just to keep them relevant in the narrative.

Top 3 Victims of Getting Whipped by Jamil Viper's Long and Luscious Hair
i wanted to get the gunk from not-writing out before i go back to my pressing wips and i was thinking of how i used to get hit in the face by my friends with long hair…hence these crack hcs. content warnings: -this is crack. this is unserious. (couldn't help myself from hinting at angst. but this entire post is unserious, dw) -unbeta’d, all mistakes are mine. -im okay with this being rb’d and tagged as ship (then in that case this counts as pre-slash if you squint?) word count: 771
3.) Ace Trappola
Nearly took out his eye, those damn braids.
Okay, maybe he's exaggerating. Just a little bit. Then it’s back to business and completing this Alchemy worksheet early!
(Ace is a bit dramatic in that moment, only if it means that he gets to tick off one of his more put-together upperclassmen)
Maybe that’s on him for trying to put on the eager underclassman act (If only to get Jamil to do the brunt of the work for this joint class)
No, he’s not trying to get on Jamil’s good side. Don’t get it twisted. That guy is unbribable. (So Ace thinks, little does he know he’s going about it the wrong way.)
And while one can say that he’s learned his lesson, it doesn’t stop the occasional accident from happening.
And, well, it’s just funny to surprise Jamil. Aside from throwing a fake roach onto his gym bag, that gets boring really fast.
(So Ace says, but he likes to milk the 0.5 seconds of concern. He’s a little brother. It’s an easy way to get some attention drama around here.)
2.) Floyd Leech
Jamil's usually diligent enough to make sure his hair is secured during basketball training. But on a day where Floyd feels like putting in effort…
Well, things get messy. more than the usual amount of chaos that comes with team scrimmages.
And in Jamil’s quick pivot, one thing leads to another, you know.
More than being hurt, Floyd was: Surprised.
And secondly, he notices: Huh, Jamil's hair smells good.
A normal person would ask what products Jamil uses
Floyd’s intrusive thoughts, on the other hand, are like, “yo... what if we took a bite though?”
(0.5 seconds elapsed, we are working in bullet time for those last internal thoughts^^)
And it’s very hard to resist a prospect like that when you also throw in the shininess of Jamil's hair ornaments to the mix.

(On his low energy days, Floyd doesn’t care. On his bad low-energy days, he’ll yank at the offending braid.)
Either way, Jamil already knows to give Floyd a wide berth on default. That’s why he’s relatively low on this list.
Honorable mention to Azul Ashengrotto
Well, it's only happened twice.
But the guy was changed after those incidents. (Epiphany?? Revelation??)
Maybe the first time he got stunned into silence from getting hit was a fluke, but then it happened again.
And once again, total silence.
(Is Azul supposed to feel appalled? Is this blackmail material? How can he spin this into a surefire conversation to rope Jamil into Octavinelle once and for all? *insert bluescreen noises*)
Jamil’s stopped feeling bad about it when the initial embarrassment wears off.
If Azul gets smacked across the face and loses his glasses, that’s on him. Jamil’s speedwalking away from the crime scene, call that plausible deniability.
Unlike certain people on this list, Azul’s conscientious enough to respect Jamil’s physical boundaries
(For the most part. Sometimes Azul gets too into his “Benevolent Housewarden” persona—it’s the untapped Theater Kid Energy in him—that it could happen a third time.)
1.) (Are we even surprised?)
It's Kalim al-Asim!
When they're at class, when they're going to the school store, even at the safety of the dorm.
(Who knew Kalim had the capacity for stealth when he’s not wearing any of his usual jewelry or accessories? Has Jamil been belling him like a cat?)
It has to happen at least once a day, so decrees the law of the universe
Maybe it’s a consequence of Kalim’s lack of personal boundaries.
(Well, after the events of Book 4, I could say something angsty about that but that can be its own post. This is supposed to be a lighthearted crack scenario)
The worst of it probably had to be during VDC rehearsals. Especially when they were getting the formations down.
Ace has made a tally of each time it has happened, Rook has confirmed the numbers. It cannot be denied any longer, there is Objective Statistical Proof.
Congratulations, Kalim! Here’s a hastily-made certificate of recognition! (Vil would sermon them for goofing off, but he can indulge in some levity. It’s the night before the performance. It’s better than seeing them nervous.)
Kalim’s confused about the makeshift award, but it’s ok, his default response to 97% of things is good-natured laughter.
Jamil on the other hand is done. He wants to sleep. (But, when you compare it with the stress of their initial rehearsals, this kind of situation doesn’t seem so bad. He’ll never admit that out loud though.)

I see a ton of people in the TWST fandom mischaracterize characters so here is the first of possibly multiple character profiles + analysis I have done on TWST characters to perhaps help those that want to write fics about them.
I’ll start with one character I have written a lot for (some analysis borders on theory):
Riddle Rosehearts
General Overview
- 17 year old male
- Upper or Upper Middleclass
- Raised in a two parent household with parents who have marital issues.
- Only Child
- Both Parents have achieved higher levels education and are Doctors
- Second year high school student
- Attends four year boarding school, students ranging from ages 15-20
- Born and raised in the Queendom of Roses (An Archipelagic Country with what appears to be one main island)
Source Material
- Riddle is inspired by the Queen of Hearts from the Disney adaptation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carole, Alice In Wonderland.
- Both Lewis Carole’s original writings and the Disney adaptation portray the Queen of Hearts as a childish woman with a quick temper and a penchant for punishing people by ordering that their head be chopped off.
- It’s shown that the Queen of Hearts is unreasonable and quick to act without thinking, as she resolves all conflicts with her orders of beheading.
Beliefs and Values
- Rules-> Riddle strongly believes in the upholding of rules, any breaking of a rule, big or small, should be punished.
- Education-> Riddle places emphasis on education, people should strive for a thorough understanding of subjects and maintain high marks throughout schooling.
- Relationships-> Riddle does not have many friends, but he wishes to have more, he’s exceedingly loyal to those he deems friends, and gives them his trust. He also has a strong loyalty to his family and the values his family has instilled in him.
Childhood and Upbringing
- Riddle’s mother and father fight often, and Riddle himself is aware of this, it is unknown if these fights have been occurring all of Riddle’s life or if this is a more recent development.
- Riddle’s Mother is a controlling woman who micromanaged her son’s life up until he attended Night Raven Academy. She is known to have made schedules for his entire day, manage his education by giving him lessons when he wasn’t at school, manage his meals and calorie intake, and isolate him from children his age.
- Little is known about Riddle’s father beyond the fact he is a doctor and that he fights with Riddle’s mother, but it can be assumed he was aware of Riddle’s mothers treatment of their son, and was either unable to stop it, uncaring enough to stop it, or complicit in it.
- Riddle was seen to have very little free time as a child, the only known free time being when Riddle was delegated time for independent study.
- Riddle was not seen to have gone outside much as a child, but it can be assumed that at some point he was either signed up for horseback riding lessons or taught riding by his mother based on his skill shown in his ceremonial robes vignette. (As it’s unlikely a teen who’s also busy with being a Housewarden and classes would be at a skill level high enough to impress Royal knights, who have likely been riding for years, with only one year of practice)
- Due to being isolated in his early life, Riddle grew up without friends, as a child he met Trey Clover and Alchemi Alchemivich “Che’nya” Pinka, who convinced him to go outside and play with them as well as try a Strawberry tart, when caught, Riddle was taken away and berated for not listening to his mother. He also had his individual study time taken away as punishment for breaking the rules. Riddle also witnessed Trey’s parents being berated for allowing Trey to be such a bad influence on Riddle when this happened.
Behavior
- Riddle is short tempered, he’s extremely focused on his goals and extremely dedicated, when things get in the way of his goals he can easily get irritated.
- Riddle has a tendency to overreact to things, when he sees people who’re breaking the rules he gets unreasonably angry and often reacts with his unique magic “Off with your head!” which forms an ornate collar around the neck of the target which restricts the target from using magic.
- Riddle is displayed to have a compulsion or compulsion like need to follow rules, even going so far as finding ways to follow rules that seem impossible, such as figuring out how to “dry off by taking a walk in the ocean” by walking around in the Octavinelle dorm until he was dry.
- Riddle is prideful, but also aware of and working on his shortcomings, he’s shown to be shameful of his rashness and how he has harmed his classmates, but he still upholds his ideals such as pushing himself and his house to get high grades.
- Despite being strict and short tempered, Riddle is very kind and dedicated to the others in his house and and other students who ask him for aide, he exhibits this many times in dialogue lines where he offers to help people understand material they’re struggling with and instances where he shows support for his underclassmen, such as attending Ace’s basketball game when invited.
Analysis and Interpretation
- Riddle Rosehearts was raised by a controlling mother who would emotionally abuse him when he went against her rules, this instilled a deep rooted fear within him. If Riddle breaks a rule, something bad will happen. He cannot break a rule, it terrifies him to break a rule. Riddle also wants to protect those around him from this as well, since he saw how Trey and his parents were treated by his mother. Riddle enforces the harsh punishment of temporarily taking away peoples magic in order to protect them from the worse consequences of their actions and stop them from committing more offenses.
- Riddle wants to be liked by his peers. He’s not purposely trying to separate himself from them by punishing them as Housewarden nor does he necessarily think himself better than them. He wants to make friends with people, he’s only ever been able to make friends with Trey and Che’nya. He wants to be a normal kid, but he can’t, he doesn’t know how to interact with people his age and that makes it hard for him to make friends.
- Riddle could have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)-> people with OCD have three main symptoms, Intrusive Thoughts/Obsessions, Compulsions, and Anxiety. The intrusive thoughts of someone with OCD pair with a compulsion, creating the anxiety: “If I don’t (carry out the compulsion), (Intrusive thought) will happen.” OCD is more likely to develop when someone experiences trauma or when their parents exhibit similar behaviors, and Obsessions and Compulsions usually have themes. Riddle has experienced trauma from his upbringing, watched his mother make such meticulous schedules that he had to follow, and has an apparent belief that breaking the rules will end in something bad happening, which leads to the possibility that his need to follow the rules is a theme of his compulsions, especially since he goes to extreme lengths to follow them and gets upset when others don’t.
There’s more I can say but I think this is a good sort of reference sheet for anyone looking to write about Riddle as a character.

i read this the other day and it made me think about minecraft mods
it does kind of strike me how many of the Traditional Rationalist Singularity Things are fundamentally... single-player? not a lot of 'you will be able to love and be loved' happening. a lot of 'you will be able to have a big mansion with sexy servants'. even the bit about 'appreciating art' is about appreciating an endless stream of flawless ai art, in much the same tone as the bit about being able to appreciate all the physics the ais will figure out. art, physics, same thing, right
so there was this minecraft mod called 'equivalent exchange' that assigned every item in the game a numerical value. dirt was 1 point. diamonds were 8192 points. iron was 256 points. sugarcane was 8 points. and so on. and the two big things you could do is there was an 'alchemy tablet' that would record stuff you put in it and maintain a points buffer and let you take out any item you had the points to create. so, yes, you could turn one diamond into 4 gold or 16 iron or whatever. equivalent exchange! the other thing was a solar reactor that would just constantly give you points. so once you had found any one thing in the world, you could make infinite copies of it, given enough points.
this mod was somewhat contentious. some people loved it! others did not love it. minecraft is kind of a game that trades on the specific. items aren't fungible. there are sugarcane farms and pumpkin farms and iron farms and mob farms etc, and different kinds of items require different infrastructures to obtain in large quantities. equivalent exchange got rid of all that; suddenly every item is fungible!
you can look at various minecraft mods and be like, okay, is this a mod about giving you a solution block, or is this a mod about giving you a flexible framework to figure out your own solutions? equivalent exchange is pretty much pure 'solution block', but stuff like minefactory reloaded or mekanism is also pretty heavy on the solution block: this block makes cobblestone. this block makes ice. this block makes lava. meanwhile, mods like botania or create are more about giving you blocks that do very broad interactions ('this block places another block in the world', 'this block moves around other blocks', 'this block breaks other blocks') and expects you to make your own rube goldberg machine that automatically manufactures stuff or w/e. because some people find the challenge and complexity of that more satisfying than just being able to press a button to get infinite power. something something there are many lessons we could learn from elf-only inn
anyway until your local transhumanist can design a minecraft mod that people would like to play i don't think i'd trust their ai to design a utopia people actually want to exist in

Hello everybody! It’s a bit late, but it’s time for another Backlog Report! This time for November ‘24
Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness and the Secret Hideout:
This was the first Atelier game I’ve ever played. It did in fact make a good impression. While I did enjoy the combat and exploration for what they were, I found them both to be a fair bit basic. The real star of the show was the alchemy system. I probably wasted hours trying to play mad scientist and unlock new recipes.
As for the plot, I think it works pretty well as a slow-burn, but I find that slice-of-life might not be my cup of tea when it comes to games. I really enjoyed the characters, but I wasn’t as invested in their lives as maybe some others.
I don’t think I need to lose any sleep hunting for Ryza 2 & 3, but I am glad I played this game.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies:
You know what I was thinking at the end of Apollo Justice? ‘Man, Phoenix Wright passing the torch to a new generation is great! I want to see him do it again!’ In all seriousness, I do like Athena as a new cast member, but I’d be lying if I said the game doesn’t struggle to balance three leads. The Tri-Point Objection is badass, but somewhat undercooked given Apollo’s lack of perspective in the final case.
The Mood Matrix is a welcome addition to the gameplay. It introduces a new way to think about witness testimony, and makess Athena more unique.
The revisualization segments I found actually rather fun. It makes a few of the bigger plot twists easier to swallow when you can see and follow the thread of logic. That said, I wish it were more flashed out. If anything, you should be allowed to make mistakes and come to the wrong conclusion during these segment.
I also must revise some of my opinion on the ‘Perceive’ mechanic. As it turns out, the first press pauses the statement so you can continue to look for tells. This does at least lesson the burden, but it does lead into a new criticism as neither introduction of the mechanic told me you could do that.
Finally the introduction of a ‘to-do’ list in the investigation portions. It doesn’t make them more exciting, but it does serve as a nice guide/checklist to ensure that you have in fact done everything. However I’m not too big on how you can only examine things in plot-important rooms. You miss out on a lot of small character moments like the eternal Ladder V. Stepladder debate, or whose turn it is to water Mr. Charley.
Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice:
This is one of the more unique entries in the main Ace Attorney games. I think after the Mood Matrix, the people developing these games realized that trying new things actually works. The Divination Séance and Insights are not only interesting and fun to observe, they’re even important to the over-arching plot and cast.
Khura’in is a fascinating setting, and one that feels unique in the bizarre Japanifornia of Ace Attorney games. It almost feels like a place you’d visit for Layton V. Wright 2! (Please make that happen.)
That said, while Dual Destinies may have struggled a bit to balance new and old characters, that struggle to share focus is even more apparent here. While Phoenix and Maya’s relationship drives most of the early plot, Apollo’s backstory of the week is more involved and pivotal to the final case. And then Episode 4 rolls around and throws a wrench into this by giving Athena her own solo case. I wouldn’t have a problem with this on it’s own, but it’s unrelated to the larger plot, over in just a single trial, and at the end of it all, Athena still doesn’t have a clean, unaccompanied victory in court, this time having to rely on Blackquill playing Sarcastic, Passive-aggressive Cheerleader. Apollo’s death-defying bluff/climactic deduction is a great moment, and the final trial is full of payoff for Apollo’s probability-stretching backstory, but it is lessened slightly by Phoenix Wright continuing to share the limelight.
Even with this however, I still think it might be one of my favorites in the series. There’s just something so unique and climactic about it.
Go play the Apollo Justice Trilogy y’all.

Other than resting and being alchemy-sent support for the new councillor, what does Leyya do while she's a "stay-at-home wife"? Any new hobby or interest?
She at first spent a lot of time sleeping since everything that happened took a lot out of her. Beyond that, she's taken a big interest in cooking, and she's been taking lessons at one of the bigger restaurants in Rata Sum. It keeps her hands busy, lets her feel like she's still active without pushing herself physically where she can't do that as much anymore, and she can also make treats for friends.
Interestingly, she had started taking cooking lessons in Cantha while she and Zojja were staying near the krewe, and one of her favorite things is blending Canthan cuisine with traditional asuran cooking.
It has resulted in grub ramen jello spheres, but at least her friends and family seem to like it.

Thinking of a Skyrim/general fantasy AU to sate my need to replay Skyrim when I can't currently run it on my computer.
-Splinter is the Jarl, may or may not still be a rat, I haven't decided.
-Raph is his housecarl and heir, always at his father's side, with a giant warhammer strapped to his back. (which he has never actually needed for combat, it's incredibly intimidating and Raph can dispatch pretty much anything with his fists)
-April is housecarl 2 and wields a crossbow and a kickass war axe with a magicka damage enchantment.
-Leo is his steward and captain of the hold guard and also secretly a spymaster kind of person, and a lot of people think he'd make a better jarl than Raph. He likes sticking to the advisor role though, the fancy chair isn't worth it. Skilled in one-handed and wields a sword, later dual-wields with fire and ice enchanted blades.
-Draxum is Splinter's court mage and loathes his court duties. He just wants to be left alone and be weird. He and Splinter absolutely hate each other and will avoid working together at all costs. They even time their meals so they're not in the hall at the same time.
-Donnie is supposed to be Draxum's apprentice and learning magic and alchemy under him. (Draxum requested him and Splinter agreed because he has too many heirs and he'd love to replace Draxum with one of his own sons-no one actually, like, consulted Donnie first) What actually happens is he pays attention to the lessons he cares about and then sneaks away to read or invent shit like medieval water heaters. Or just wanders around outside studying flora without telling anyone where he's going for several days. Wields an enchanted battlestaff with either an absorb health or paralyze enchantment.
-Mikey is training under Leo to take over as steward, because Leo is busy enough, and taking magic lessons from Draxum as well. He does pretty well with the public relations aspect of the job and even with managing supplies and logistics, but he struggles with bookkeeping and usually has someone check over the accounts to ensure his math is right. Uses a fire-enchanted bow and occasionally joins Donnie to wander through the countryside and pick flowers. Splinter has sent out troops to search for them/rescue them from bandits more than once. (they have never once needed rescuing)

As you’re reading it, you are experiencing this lifetime. Only through all of the challenges the couple in the book faces, can you understand why all of that had to happen for them to come together. It’s a really good use of verisimilitude, because that’s just how real life works. Oftentimes, we consume romance like it’s junk food, but the real romance is slow, boring and sometimes, painful. That’s a good one. The popular saying “What’s right for you will find you” is in this story. How big of a role do you think this right timing plays in romance? Upasna Barath: I think it’s actually the biggest thing. It’s paying attention to the right moment and surrendering to it or trusting that if you meet someone and for some reason you can’t be together, the timing will work itself out. Whether that means you find someone else or come back to this person, there’s a big mystical element to romance. There’s a lot of alchemy, some effort, some luck and some interest in finding a partner. Oftentimes, we consume romance like it’s junk food, but the real romance is slow, boring and sometimes, painful This isn’t your first time writing about love. Did starting with a real couple change your approach? Upasna Barath: What’s really crazy is that it actually didn’t change anything. Is that why you included their pause or dating detox? In the story, Jerome needs a break from dating, and Tyla is feeling sceptical about relationships. Upasna Barath: For me, that period of boredom for Jerome is set against Tyla’s whirlwind relationships and situationships. Jerome was still, and that was important to focus on because it’s what allowed everything that mattered to Jerome to come to the surface – what led him to Tyla. A lot of the conversations we hear around dating are that it’s a numbers game. But Jerome’s approach is so interesting because instead of binging on relationships, he took a step back and he sat with himself. That stillness allowed him to take relationships beyond the surface level. It’s also not your first time writing about New York. Do you think dating in a city like New York adds a special perspective to a love story? If so, how do you explore this in your work and through Tyla and Jerome? Upasna Barath: In my work in general, I’m very antagonistic towards the rhetoric about New York dating. I know it’s really hard to date here for women who date men. There are obviously more women than men, so it feels like there’s a scarcity thing. Then, for straight men, there’s an abundance mindset that’s really antagonistic. I think anecdotally all of these things could be true, but the fact is we’re not God. There are no rules, and we only operate from what we believe. I want to preserve the idea of New York being a place for expansion and opportunity and romance is such a beautiful medium to explore that limitlessness. In Comedic Timing, it was so easy for Naina to meet someone. It’s easy for us to meet anyone when we have chemistry with that person. Tyla and Jerome met on an app. Hinge brought them together, and they’re together now, but it was an internal struggle that ultimately kept them apart, not New York. I’m more motivated to make the first move and not be afraid that it will backfire, because if it does, that wasn’t the right person anyway The story showcases two people’s perspectives in the same dating process. How did you get into the heads of both Tyla and Jerome? Upasna Barath: I feel like I have been both Tyla and Jerome. In a way, there’s an empathy aspect, but also just the humanist aspect of shared or collective consciousness, because they represent two different approaches to dating. In Tyla’s case, she’s a little more restless, excited and curious. She’s a people person. Jerome is shyer and reserved. I’ve been in a place where I’ve been more restless. I love meeting new people and following that instinct. There’s a side of it where you are loving people and maybe distracting yourself, and sometimes it works out for the best: Tyla was the one constantly reaching out to Jerome and putting herself out there. But there’s also that stillness again, where you also have to take a step back and question how you can be more intentional in dating. I pulled from my own experience with that duality because that duality exists in all of us. Alternatively, one could say that a chance encounter is compelling or a meet-cute is compelling, but to match with someone to like actively choose a person and for them to choose you back is already so amazing. It’s something I think we take for granted with dating. We’ve moved past the fact that it’s kind of a miracle just to have that on your phone. The classroom hasn’t changed much in over a century. A teacher at the front, rows of students listening, and a curriculum defined by what’s testable – not necessarily what’s meaningful.
But AI, as arguably the most powerful tool humanity has created in the last few years, is about to break that model open. Not with smarter software or faster grading, but by forcing us to ask: “What is the purpose of education in a world where machines could teach?”
At AI News, rather than speculate about distant futures or lean on product announcements and edtech deals, we started a conversation – with an AI. We asked it what it sees when it looks at the classroom, the teacher, and the learner.
What follows is a distilled version of that exchange, given here not as a technical analysis, but as a provocation.
The system cracks
Education is under pressure worldwide: Teachers are overworked, students are disengaged, and curricula feel outdated in a changing world. Into this comes AI – not as a patch or plug-in, but as a potential accelerant.

We asked the AI: “If you’re trained on the internet – and the internet is the output of biased, flawed human thought – doesn’t that mean your responses are equally flawed?”
The AI acknowledged the logic. Bias is inherited. Inaccuracies, distortions, and blind spots all travel from teacher to pupil. What an AI learns, it learns from us, and it can reproduce our worst habits at vast scale.
But we weren’t interested in letting human teachers off the hook either. So we asked: “Isn’t bias true of human educators too?”
The AI agreed: human teachers are also shaped by the limitations of their training, culture, and experience. Both systems – AI and human – are imperfect. But only humans can reflect and care.
That led us to a deeper question: if both AI and human can reproduce bias, why use AI at all?
Why use AI in education?
The AI outlined what it felt were its clear advantages, which seemed to be systemic, rather than revolutionary. The aspect of personalised learning intrigued us – after all, doing things fast and at scale is what software and computers are good at.
We asked: “How much data is needed to personalise learning effectively?“
The answer: it varies. But at scale, it could require gigabytes or even terabytes of student data – performance, preferences, feedback, and longitudinal tracking over years.
Which raises its own question: “What do we trade in terms of privacy for that precision?”
A personalised or fragmented future?
Putting aside the issue of whether we’re happy with student data being codified and ingested, if every student were to receive a tailored lesson plan, what happens to the shared experience of learning?
Education has always been more than information. It’s about dialogue, debate, discomfort, empathy, and encounters with other minds, not just mirrored algorithms. AI can tailor a curriculum, but it can’t recreate the unpredictable alchemy of a classroom.
We risk mistaking customisation for connection.

The teacher reimagined
Where does this leave the teacher?
In the AI’s view: liberated. Freed from repetitive tasks and administrative overload, the teacher is able to spend more time guiding, mentoring, and cultivating important thinking.
But this requires a shift in mindset – from delivering knowledge to curating wisdom. In broad terms, from part-time administrator, part-time teacher, to in-classroom collaborator.
AI won’t replace teachers, but it might reveal which parts of the teaching job were never the most important.

What we teach next
So, what do we want students to learn?
In an AI-rich world, important thinking, ethical reasoning, and emotional intelligence rise in value. Ironically, the more intelligent our machines become, the more we’ll need to double down on what makes us human.
Perhaps the ultimate lesson isn’t in what AI can teach us – but in what it can’t, or what it shouldn’t even try.
Conclusion
The future of education won’t be built by AI alone. The is our opportunity to modernise classrooms, and to reimagine them. Not to fear the machine, but to ask the bigger question: “What is learning in a world where all knowledge is available?”
Whatever the answer is – that’s how we should be teaching next.

I don't know if this is fate, but just today I was thinking about this while I was reading some of his alchemy lessons lines.
Let's see what i got (and sorry if this is not perfect, English it's my second language).

Btw i think some players often don't notice that alchemy lessons lines are basically characters yapping to Yuu in class and that's why I love to give these little lines a deeper consideration.
In this line for example, Malleus talks with patience and lead to us, but mostly he talks from experience and you can appreciate that this line is from a Good or one star line, indicating that something amateur happened in the lesson like frustration from the player.

The line "It's novel to learn new topics" reinforces the idea that Malleus can be a novice just like everybody else when it comes to a topic that he hasn't mastered. Isn't curious that this is also a "good" or one star line?

"This smell does not agree with me."
Another good line, in this one we can clearly see that Malleus isn't perfect and he is perfectly aware unconsciously making a joke of the situation. I honestly love this one, humble baby.

"I know little about machines"
This screenshot isn't perfect, but this is also a one star/good line, this one was also important for me because for a long time i've been thinking that Malleus knows more than anyone that he is not good with tech, but as he doesn't like it anyways doesn't make a effort to learn?? That's too funny to me.
Also, he recognizes that he knows little about something and he doesn't lose sleep about it.

"Fail as often as you must"
This. Line. This is the line. And unlike others this one is a three star/perfect, and I thinks is obvious why.
Malleus, a prince that cannot fail as a single mistake could cost a lot of damage for his people, became familiar with fail as soon as he gained consciousness so he could learn from it in order to prepare for his future rol as a responsible ruler of his people.
Also i think that all of this is one of the reasons why leona hates his guts so much but thats for another occassion i guess.

I know literally everyone knows I love everything about Malleus (he could strangle someone to death and I'd praise him) but one thing consistent about his presentation throughout the game, which I love, is his passion for learning.
As a crown prince, he has certain expectations he knows he must meet. But he is not naturally good at everything. And he doesn't act nor pretend that he is. Instead, just like Vil, he accepts he sucks at it and works so hard to improve that people think he's always been naturally good at it.


It's admirable for a character to appear like a Gary Stu when you first meet him, but learn that he's actually the opposite of it. An actual guy who fails at everything and needs to toil behind the scenes to maintain the Gary Stu image he's trying to project lmao.

Things had finally settled down since everyone had returned home. It took a few days, but Blood-Wraith had gotten over his anxiety and Tusk was adjusting to his new surroundings. Kresimira was particularly interested in the newcomer mage, wanting to gauge his skills and see what he knew. Observation revealed that Tusk was not exactly up to par with what was expected. His skills were on the level of an average mage, also indicating that his expertise was in decline. Kresimira had no plans to let this stand and got to work writing up a special lesson plan for him. Thankfully she could easily slot him into her Alchemy lessons the others were busy with at the moment.
“I would have used my new technique, but I felt the forest wouldn’t have appreciated it” Dragoslava stated. “And Blood had to deal with being a wolf.”
Tusk groaned. “Why do I get the distinct impression that would have been dangerous?”
“Only as dangerous as we needed” Dragoslava replied with a dismissive glee.
“I see…” Kresimira was not pleased with Dragoslava’s devil may care attitude. “So were you two able to glean any new knowledge, despite the ruckus?” she asked.
Dragoslava gave a thumbs up. “Oh absolutely. Blood went out and hit the Tree People’s books like crazy.”
“Intriguing. What did you find, Blood-Wraith?”
“Well, a mix of unique transmutations and 7-step process manuscripts. I guess water and wind transmutations are a bit rare compared to earth and fire” He replied, shuffling through some of his notes.
Tusk jumped in, having a bit of insight on the topic. “I can vouch. Air and water are unique and mostly niche. The one I use the most out of the two is wind, primarily water into ice. Vapor into water has also been helpful. The issue is that I often find earth and fire to be more reliable.”
Kresimira began writing on the chalkboard. “An example of an interesting air transmutation I know of is wind gusts. Using your Alchemy, you can alter conditions such as temperature and atmospheric pressure to create a pressure gradient. Creating the correct gradient will allow you to control the wind. Now obviously The Unlight does not have definitive weather patterns, but that is irrelevant for a transmutation. Any questions?” The students were impressed, taking a second to absorb the information.
“I believe my dad once created a tornado to fend off invaders, but it happened before I was born,” Tusk stated.
Kresimira looked quite impressed. “My my, the conditions for such a feat would have to be quite extreme. Regardless, I feel someone such as Sigmund could pull that off. You most likely could too, Tusk. All you need to do is refine your techniques and…”
Dragoslava chuckled. “Hehe, maybe we should use that on Corentin…” Both sisters laughed.
“My goodness, surely I don’t constitute that strong of a response…” a man’s voice rebuked.
Kresimira felt her eye twitch as she turned to face her unwelcome visitor. “What part of you’re not allowed in this tower do you not understand?”
Corentin playfully threw up his hands. “It’s been so long though and I’ve changed since then… Plus the king is my uncle.”
“You've changed? Explain the ravagers then, a recent mishap I might add.”
“Okay, a few miscalculations here and there, I’ll admit. I assure you that I fully intended for them to defend the city while the others are off on the great hunt. Bloody Chaos Wasps…”
Kresimira sighed. “Alright, Corentin, what do you want?”
“I merely wished to give you this…” He held out a beautiful, metal rose. Its pink petals glistened in the light. This naturally caught everyone’s attention.
As Kresimira took the rose, she felt herself beginning to blush. Turning away from Corentin, she focused on the rose. It began to glow brightly, then transformed into a majestic rapier with a guard of rose petals. After a series of test thrusts and swings, she held it before her. “You know I put fencing aside a long time ago…”
“Consider it a reminder of the good old days, when we…”
“OUT!” Kresimira yelled as she pushed Corentin out of the lab. “Class dismissed!”
Once the two were gone, Blood-Wraith looked at the clock. “Huh, it’s only 2 though…” He was fairly lost for details over what had just happened.
After a minute of silence, Dragoslava broke it. “WHAT? DOES THAT CASSANOVA REJECT THINK HE CAN JUST WIN BIG SIS BACK LIKE THAT?”
Blood-Wraith and Tusk needed context, so she explained. Long before the great hunt, Kresimira and Corentin were a couple. Her sister was a writer and a romantic while the scientist was madly in love with her. Once Corentin took up Alchemy, things became a little complicated. He had a habit of performing more dangerous and explosive experiments. As the majority of the city frowned upon him, Kresimira was having trouble defending Corentin. Eventually the two split, but the relationship was never officially broken off. And then the great hunt started. While it was figured that he went off with the hunt, that did not actually happen.
“Well I’m no expert, but it sounds like Kresimira scored a perfect partner,” Tusk asserted. “I’d rather have a daring partner than one that always plays it safe.”
Dragoslava gave a slight growl, but relented. “Okay, sure-Corentin never did anything to hurt big sis…”
“It sounds like both of you need to move on from the past” Blood-Wraith stated bluntly.
“Blood, how could you?” Dragoslava asked in jest, but was also expecting him to take it back.
“I stand by what I said. I sense no evil from him.”
Dragoslava gave Blood-Wraith an incredulous look. “Well obviously! Good lord…”
The three got up and left the lab. There was no sense in hanging around if there was no class at the moment. Walking by the northwest balcony, they found Kresimira and Corentin… Of which the latter was kissing the former. She then promptly slapped him, followed by her kissing him back. And it sounded like they were enjoying themselves. The trio was royally confused, with Dragoslava blowing a gasket.
“Fine, we can be a thing again… but blow up any part of the city and we’re through, got it?” Kresimira warned.
Corentin chuckled. “Alright, I’ll blow myself up outside of the city then…”
“WHAT!?!?!” An aura of fire erupted around Dragoslava as she shouted, subsiding as she relaxed. “Alright, fine, fine. I’m cool, I’m fine…”
“Yes Drago, I’m giving him a second chance,” Kresimira admitted.
“Just… Can we slow down for two seconds?!” Dragoslava exclaimed.
Corentin stepped forward. “I understand your apprehension, Drago. If I may make a gesture of goodwill: Blood-Wraith, I see you’ve collected a soul trait?”
“Yes, why?” He was curious as to what Corentin had to say.
“I gave him that one, in case you’re wondering,” Tusk added.
“ULTRAMagic is a truly wondrous form of magic, one I have contemplated pursuing myself” Corentin began to explain. “Alas, my studies and experiments keep me distracted. Sadly few others have actually studied it. The only one I remember at the moment was one of our own, Brenna Thompson…”
“Wait, hold up-Brenna did what now?” Dragoslava interrupted.
Kresimira nodded in confirmation “Yes, Brenna came back early, seeking something special of hers. Next thing I knew she was off again. What tipped me off was her power entering the city.”
“I believe she went off towards the Magician’s Labyrinth,” Corentin continued. “Anyways, Soul fragments are easy to acquire, if you know the right people.” he snapped his fingers, causing a purple flame to appear. “Blood-Wraith? I hereby bequeath a fragment of my Soul to you.”
As the flame went into Blood-Wraith, Tusk objected. “Wait, hold up! Take it easy on him. This could lead to over stimulation!”
Blood-Wraith laughed. “That felt great!”
“Excuse me!?” Kresimira interjected. “Just because we're a couple again doesn’t mean you can just throw your soul around willy-nilly!” She then summoned a yellow flame and sent it flying. “Here you go, Blood-Wraith!”
“NO, GUYS! STOP!” Tusk protested as he tried to block the fragment… It did not work.
Blood-Wraith felt even better as the second fragment integrated into him. Something was in his chest, a feeling of weightlessness. It was like he needed to jump into the air and soar into the clouds. He did not realize it, but his body had taken on another form. This time he appeared as a dragon. He was close in size to his original form and looked similar to Leif. Feeling a surge of energy, he bolted forth and leapt into the air from the balcony. Seeing Leif himself approaching, he planned to race him.
“READYSETGO!!” Blood-Wraith shouted as he began rocketing around the tower. He did not realize that his friend was not racing him.
Leif was a bit confused as he shrunk down and landed. “Did I miss something?”
Dragoslava cleared her throat. “Well firstly big sis and Corentin are…”
“I know, he told me beforehand.”
“...Oh, Okay. Well these two lovebirds decided to give Blood-Wraith their fragments, completely out of the blue.”
“I see.”
Tusk exhaled. “I tried to stop them…”
Leif took a second to observe the hyperactive dragon. “Fascinating that he took on a dragon-based form. These transformations must be dependent on the circumstances and his surroundings. Although, that makes me wonder if he would be… hmm…”
“I have to wonder just what he is exactly,” Tusk observed. “He’s young, but takes to this stuff with ease. Dad wouldn’t let me have my first fragment until I was 16, and even then it had to be his.”
After letting Blood-Wraith do another lap, Leif spoke. “Valentina is on her way.”
“Oh, cool,” Dragoslava responded with a clap. “Jeez, has it already been a week? Sis, It’s time!”
Kresimira laughed. “I’m not deaf, Drago. And I can sense her already. What an aura she has…”
Corentin nodded. “A Dark Angel? What a fascinating detail. They are a bit rare across the Cosmos.”
In the distance was a winged, heavily armored woman flying towards the tower. Valentina had been caught up in a kerfuffle prior to departing. Regardless, she was on her way to return the books she had borrowed. She was also very eager to deliver Blood-Wraith’s new book to him. Just as she entered the vicinity of the tower, something zipped past her. It nearly collided with Valentina, causing her to stumble in the air a bit. Dragoslava saw this and quickly called her over.
“Hello again, Dragoslava,” Valentina greeted as she took off her helmet. Her long, flowing hair was wound up in a giant ponytail behind her. Dirt from grease and soil was also all over her face.
“Welcome back, Val. Get everything you need out of the books?”
“Yes, yes I did. Give me one second…” The books in question were removed from her shadowy wings and set on the table.
Dragoslava handed her a rag from her trench coat. “Here, you got schmutz all over…”
“Oh, thank you,” Valentina replied as she began wiping her face.
Kresimira looked at Valentina in amazement. “You read all of those in a week? Goodness…”
“Val, this is my sister and teacher, Kresimira,” said Dragoslava.
Valentina shook her hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
“Likewise,” Kresimira replied. “I’m flattered that you're interested in our collection. You’re more than welcome to explore it further.”
Dragoslava continued. “The pink haired bozo you see is Corentin, this tree boy is Tusk, and that dragon is Leif.”
“Oh don’t worry, we’ve met before” Leif pointed out.
“Most certainly,” Valentina replied. “So where is Blood-Wraith? I got his book ready for him.”
Dragoslava pointed out the window as another lap was finished. “There…” she answered.
Since it was going to take some time for Blood-Wraith to calm down, Kresimira invited the dark angel for some tea and cookies. She had some time to spare, but not much. As for the current situation with their hyperactive dragon, many more flights around the tower took place. Little did the others realize that he had spotted a new planetoid. Could he make it there? Was it reasonable to embark on such a journey? Going for it seemed like a good test of his wings after all. Pausing his current flight, Blood-Wraith focused on the planetoid and took off for it. He would be back before the others even realized he was gone.

You see, forgiveness isn't condoning or forgetting, but rather releasing the harmful grasp the past has on your present. And while it may seem like an impossible task, it is the most empowering thing you can do for yourself. When we refuse to forgive, we allow our pain to define us, to restrict us. But when we choose to forgive, we are saying to ourselves – and to the world – ‘I am much more than my hurt.’
As a life coach, guiding thousands of individuals just like you on the journey to self-discovery, this revelation about forgiveness has been impactful - it's a lesson taken straight from the LMA Course. It’s the reckoning that, in the end, the experiences that hurt us can also shape us, mature us, and propel us into our most authentic selves.
You might ask, 'How can I forgive, when the wounds are so fresh?' Remember, forgiveness doesn't happen all at once. It's a journey, just like self-improvement. Begin simply by acknowledging the pain, instead of trying to suppress it. Seek therapy if you must, lean on your support system, take small steps towards healing.
Ask yourself – and answer from your heart – who do you want to be? The pain might be a part of you, but does it define you? Can you make the choice to carry forward the lessons, rather than the bitterness? Can you bless the pain, and release it? Can you… forgive?
Remember this: forgiveness doesn’t mean weakening yourself, it means strengthening yourself.
