like i really think people outside small towns - especially in the south - wildly underestimate what it takes to leave them
like, here's what it took for me to move 450 miles from home:
familial support on both sides of the move, i.e.:
--people to help pack the u-haul for free
--someone to drive the u-haul for free
--a place to stay overnight after arriving in the new city for free
--people to help me unpack the apartment for free
--people to chip in on gas
--people to buy lunch/dinner on the way over
--people to give advice on where to look for apartments
--people to give me a place to stay while apartment-hunting so that i didn't have to go in sight-unseen to a new home
--a big one: a brother with whom i lived for a year at very cheap rent and expenses to save up what i could
a decent job in a niche in-demand field back home, which allowed me get a well-paying job here in the same in-demand field with enough experience to start off in a good place
a reliable, reasonably fuel-efficient car that could travel 450 miles without concern (which was paid off beforehand)
a $4500 personal loan from the bank (which i used every single penny of) - which also required:
--good enough credit to qualify for a personal loan
--enough income from the previous year to get enough from the loan to move
enough income pre-move to cover expenses for my final month at home and my first three weeks of work here before getting a paycheck
(aside: people were like "why would you start your new job less than a week after moving?? that's so stressful!!!" like my doll my dear my darling i needed the fucking paycheck as quickly as possible after moving)
enough food to bring along so i could eat between moving and getting that check
related, and also in the "familial support" column: people to help me pay for gas and/or feed me if i ran out of money/food
of course the baseline of a home to stay in at all back home, internet to do the zoom interview and find apartments to rent, as well as the structure in the hometown like a u-haul facility and a good bank with which i have a long-standing account
also, only having to move myself and my pets rather than having children who would need to have either daycare or schooling lined up on the other side of the move
now, like, obviously you can move without these things - and of course any kind of support system can take the place of my family, either friends or community groups or government programs - but they are not easy things to necessarily contact or interact with from hundreds of miles away, and not having them leaves you potentially very vulnerable in the new place, sometimes to the point of life-threatening
and i wasn't even that poor! i mean i was below the median income, but only by a few grand - and it still required a solid baseline at home, support on both sides of the move, and a personal loan, and i still barely managed to do it
"why don't you just move???" is such a severely, blindly, mind-bogglingly classist statement that it makes me just immediately disengage with whoever is saying it
like, even if you don't have roots in the place you're at, moving away is fucking hard and fucking expensive
--signed, someone who has been rankling deeply at the casual way people talk about "just mov[ing]" like that's a normal, easy, obvious thing to do and not something that is absolutely price-gated to hell and back

🍂Cozy observations 🎃
Itssss fall you guys!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 It’s actually super hot still where I live but that won’t stop me from living my cozy era. Anyways, I want to avoid collecting posts on my drafts for centuries so here’s more general observations!
work by astrobydalia
Tumblr media
🍂Aquarius placements are simultaneously the most understanding and empathetic people ever and the biggest assholes out there. I don't know how they pull that contradiction off but it's true (I mean this in the best way possible btw)
Moreover, I’ve noticed Aquarius placements are way more appreciative of kindness and social harmony than Libra tbh. Libra's desire for harmony can be just for the sake of keeping appearances but they are actually very judgmental. Aquarius on the other hand tend to appreciate authenticity and have a “live and let live” philosophy where they accept people unconditionally that’s why they attract popularity. Underdeveloped Aquarius tho do have a tendency to break social harmony due to pick-me behavior
🍂 Cardinal moons are serial daters. I swear every person I’ve met who had a rather active love life or were always crushing on someone was more often than on Cardinal moon
Also, Cardinal moons are always very dominant people even when don’t intend to be. They have a very summoning aura/personality that just demands engagement. They also tend to be social butterflies, even when they’re introverted they always end up surrounded by people somehow
🍂 I like to think Pisces is the final movie while Virgo is all the behind the scenes and editing
🍂I've seen this endless times where people with Mars in Libra or 7th house always end up either in law or business (mostly creating their own business, freelancers, entrepreneurs, etc)
🍂Any Venusian influence on the MC/10th house/6th house indicates a career or job where you’re required to dress up and appear very put together, having a certain aesthetic can be important in your career
🍂Saturn square or opposite MC/10th house ruler indicates the native was forced into a career they never chose/wanted in the first place or they had to wait a long time to finally have the opportunity to pursue their ideal career OR the path towards the career they chose could have been harder/more unfulfilling than they expected
🍂 I also like to think Taurus stops to smell the flowers and creates a flower bed for herself. Virgo studies the flowers and learns all about photosynthesis and shit. Capricorn creates a flower business and monopolizes the flower market
🍂 Those with Mars influence on their moon (Moon-Mars aspects, Aries/Scorpio moon) are really good at throwing shade but they’re unable to take it themselves. They don’t like to feel called out.
🍂 Mars in the 12th house people will 👏🏼hold 👏🏼 grudges 👏🏼
🍂 To be quite honest with you, every single Virgo sun I’ve met had a very standoffish personality.
🍂 Saturn retrograde individuals raised themselves. That’s why this placement is known to have issues with authority and discipline because their parents didn’t really parent them at all, so they had to set their own boundaries, rules and systems to navigate life. Getting their life together and materializing their ambitions could take extra effort for them
🍂 I usually like Capricorn Moons cause I always find that they are very loyal to everyone (friends, family, partner, etc) but honestly they are not as emotionally mature as you might think. They have a really hard time moving on from the past to the point where they can stay stuck in their wounded child self and spend a big chunk of their lives trying to overcompensate this with work, productivity and success. Tendency to depression, low emotional intelligence and being emotionally stunted. Deep down they feel like the victim of their own story
🍂 Aquarius sun+Scorpio moon: I’ve met quite a few people with this combo and with all of them I’ve noticed they always have a cult leader kinda mentality towards their friendships and connections (might apply to Aquarius+Scorpio combos in general). You’re either with them or against them. If you're not a follower they’ll hit you with the "cool kids table" attitude
🍂 My mom has Mercury in the 4th house and she once said "I don't mind moving abroad but I can't live in a place where people don't speak my native language. I need to hear my native language"
🍂 When it’s said that Venus in the 1st house people know how to make themselves look good it doesn’t mean just physically. The know how to present themselves as a more virtuous person than they actually are...
🍂Mutable risings, Mars in a mutable sign/house: their motto is “work smarter not harder”. Their first instinct will always be to find a way around challenges and difficulties. They usually aren’t the most action oriented people, but they are cunning. Their way to success is basically beating the system to make things easier for themselves.
🍂I can easily recognize Taurus Sun because they always ooze BDE. Also they always tend to have very rugged and bold physique/features
🍂From what I've seen Gemini Venus is a placement that easily makes someone stereotypically extroverted. Golden retriever energy
🍂Has anyone else noticed that succedent houses (aka fixed houses) are all related to money and wealth in some way?
2nd house: your resources, what spend your money on 5th house: gamble 8th house: shared resources, investments and debt 11th house: production of wealth
🍂All Gemini and Cancer risings I’ve met had some sort of hypersensitivity to stimuli. Gemini rising is more mental; anxiety, overthinking, information overload, etc they easily get triggered by immediate stimuli, specially noise around them. For Cancer risings this manifests more in the senses (photosensitivity, very sensitive to smells, flavors, etc) and heightened intuition just like Spiderman with spider-sense
🍂I’m sorry but why are Cancer Mercuries so elusive in their communication??? Everything they say has this "well, maybe. I don't know" or "I guess" undertone to it, they never openly say what they really mean. They are good listeners tho
🍂Underdeveloped Taurus placements feel entitled to use and dispose of people to benefit themselves. Tend to be very selfish and stingy. They do something for you they'll hang it over your head forever and act like they have ownership over you. You do something for them, they owe you nothing.
🍂Pisces Moons grew up in their own little bubble. It's very likely they missed out on 'normal' mundane experiences and this makes them feel very separated from the rest of the world and the rest of the people which is why they often come off as clueless and disconnected. They often give off the impression they've been living under a rock or a parallel universe. A perfect example of this is when Kim Kardashian said she's never been to a grocery store💀
Every single Pisces moon I’ve met never ever wanted to have kids and if they do have them they tend to not be too present in their kids’ lives. The harsh truth is pisces moons are not reliable, generally they are the ones who want to be saved and cared for
🍂I've noticed earth Venus and Venus-Saturn aspects are a little bit too good at showing contempt. To some degree they always remind me of Disgust from the Inside Out movie 😂
🍂 When I see Moon-Saturn conjunction in a chart I flinch a little tbh cause idk what’s worse the fact that their mothers couldn’t be bothered to give the native any sort of emotional comfort or the fact that these natives have normalized conditional love as the only kind of love possible. I've also noticed they grew up with strong authoritarian values and were never allowed to question hierarchies or status
Also, natives with Moon-Saturn conjunction are extremely shady people if you ask me. It's true they are insanely observant but what people don't seem to notice is that they are observant in a Joe Goldberg or Light Yagami kind of way without the murder They do be having inner monologues like that. They come across as calm, intelligent, respectful and trusted. Can use emotional expression (theirs and others') in strategic ways to influence others. Big tendency towards materialistic, utilitarian and/or elitist mindset too. I can't quite put my finger on it but I've met a lot of people with this aspect and the deeper I dig the more I keep feeling something very dark and/or disingenuous about them
Tumblr media
🍂Venus square Neptune people and their lack of self-respect… 🙁
🍂Aquarius Moons always give off the impression of having a rather lazy or passive personality. I'm not talking about their productivity but the fact that they seem to always have a "meh" attitude towards everything to the point where they can feel a bit disconnected similar to pisces moon
🍂Virgo risings often have freelance jobs due to Aquarius ruling their 6th house
🍂People with Industria rx (389) may actually dislike their work environment even if they like their job. I’ve noticed they often find the industry they work in to be toxic, depleting or too demanding
🍂Enterprise rx (9777) might always feel unsatisfied with their position, they might be the type to always want more and more
🍂 Aries Moon women and always attracting very immature and selfish men omg I've seen this time and time again
🍂 Scorpio moon/Moon 8th house is an underrated wealth indicator imo. I've noticed they always have a "from rags to riches" kinda life story. They however often face issues with fraud or debt along the way cause they have a tendency to take huge financial risks
🍂 you ever heard about the crabs in a bucket phenomenon? Well Ive actually observed underdeveloped 4th house placements do tend to have this kind of clingy and envious behavior particularly towards people that are really close to them. You can also experience this with people you have 4th house Synastry with; you get too attached to the comfort zone they provide to the point where they stifle your growth
🍂Pisces placements 🤝 falling for people who are bluntly abusive, controlling and narcissistic. They want to believe they’re living a beauty and the beast love story when in reality they’re trauma bonding
🍂Libra/Taurus Mars people ARE problematic and petty as fuck, they’re just good at the social game and making it look like they didn't do anything. Underdeveloped Venus energy is the opposite of peaceful, it gives major mean girl vibes and Mars being debilitated in these signs easily brings out this hostile side of Venus. The type to passively instigate drama just to make themselves look better. Very hypocritical
🍂What natives with Saturn in Taurus will consider first when choosing a career is make sure that it is well payed and gives them financial status. Other factors come second
🍂Fixed+cardinal combo in the luminaries is hands down the best sun-moon combo I've seen tbh (specially fixed sun+cardinal moon), they're a force to be reckoned with. Very charismatic, outspoken and confident people with healthy ego if developed. Most people I've met with this combo were very extroverted and/or excellent leaders
🍂Sagittarius placements 🤝 this pose 😜✌🏼
🍂Libra/7th house Lilith have a tendency to judge a book by its cover all the time
🍂I've noticed Pisces MC/10th house natives aren't very ambitious. They seem to not really care about things like self-development or being on top. From what I've seen they mostly aspire to have a pleasant and glamurous life that frees them form real life mundane worries and could desire to retire as early as possible. In some cases I've seen they could want a "princess" kinda lifestyle where they literally have no responsibilities. They want a career that liberates them from any pressure of achieving material expectations and allows them to just go brain dead all the time following a higher power/inspiration/knowledge. That's why many artists have this placements and I've also seen cases of Pisces MC people who wanted to be nuns and nurses. I've noticed that when they genuinely don't care about recieving recognition or achievements but rather do things bc it aligns with their soul that's when they become successful
🍂Scorpio placements have a tendency to be very cynical I've noticed, specially mercury and mars
🍂Gemini/3rd house Lilith can spot lies from miles away and will not be sacred to call it out
🍂As per my observation the water sign that gets idolized the most is not Pisces but Cancer 100%. Yes Pisces does get idolized but I’ve noticed that’s actually very short-lived, people tend to switch up on them SO fast cause they project a deeply unrealistic image on them and eventually fall off the pedestal. Cancer placements on the other hand are not infantized like Pisces, they are consistently very sought after people I’ve observed. They always come across as emotionally reliable even when they’re not, people always go soft for them while simultaneously respecting them so they’re always seen as perfect, kind, charming, etc. Their personality naturally portrays an energy of unconditional love and understanding so people easily get obsessed and addicted to them
🍂I always find that Pisces Venus natives have a very whimsical and juvenile personality. They also have a very extravagant taste they may like anything with bright colors, glittery shiny stuff, squishy toys, etc. they have a tendency to be a bit tacky and corny I’ve noticed
🍂Every fixed moon I've seen avoided any sort of emotional rehabilitation like the plague unless it’s strictly necessary. They believe no one can begin to understand them better than themselves and they got it all figured out already. Now this is more my opinion but I feel like they low-key underestimate the amount of healing they actually need to do cause they really struggle taking emotional accountability. They have a tendency to act like their needs and feelings justify everything so there's not much to "fix" or heal
🍂People who have at least 2 out of their big 3 in cardinal signs are often seen as the golden girl/boy
🍂Capricorn/Virgo moons will be literally the best at what they do and make it seem so effortless. If you ask them how they got so successful they'll be like "idk I guess I just practiced a lot"
🍂I’ve noticed your 8th house sign(s) represent themes that people are consistently using against you as the fastest way to tear you down, so you always end up feeling powerless here at some point. That’s why you tend to resent this energy and have toxic dynamics with people who have their planets here. This house is literally the death of you (8th from 1st), but it can also be the source of your empowerment once you claim this energy so it's best that you keep this house to yourself as much as possible. Some examples:
Gemini 8th house: using what you say against you. you could have a hard time with people believing your words, what you say is always scandalous and/or rubs people the wrong way. Gossip or information that makes you look bad. People always think you’re lying or deceiving or have ulterior motives Cancer 8th house: you could struggle with getting sympathy and emotional support from people. Others think you’re just being vulnerable and complaining for clout. Any display of emotion or care will be seen as manipulative. People trying to break or ruin your relationship with your family or closed ones Capricorn 8th house: you struggle with people respecting you, others don't take you seriously and don't see you as a valid authority. Any attempt to make yourself respected will be seen as dictatorial or elitist behavior, any desire to succeed will be seen as you being power hungry. People try to dismiss or belittle your achievements

I've made a post similar to this I'm sure, but I'm going to say it again that Tommy is my favorite partner Buck has ever had. To be clear, this has nothing to do with Tommy being a man. Let me explain.
While Abby was definitely a big milestone and someone transformative for Buck, if you look at it plainly, Abby saw Buck as a nice distraction, a play thing, from her life and not much more. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Abby is a bad person, but she did make some shitty decisions. I think even when it became clear to Abby that Buck wanted more, saw more between them than apparently Abby ever did, well she still ghosted him. The whole relationship was lopsided.
Ali was barely around, in more ways than one, for there to be anything significant said about her. In the end she couldn't handle Bucks job, so she left.
Some folks find entertainment in mess, and I do sometimes as well, but I found zero enjoyment in the mess that was Taylor and Buck. A big reason why is because I love Buck as a character, and all I've ever wanted for him is happiness and for Buck to be comfortable in himself, two things we didn't really get to see when he was with Taylor. It was rather miserable to watch Buck be in an, overall, unhealthy relationship. It was clear from early on they would never last, and still we had to watch their unhappy relationship be dragged around for an entire season. While I'm sure Buck had some happy moments with Taylor, it was never a consistent thing at all. As well, you cannot look my in the eyes and tell me Buck ever felt comfortable to be fully himself in that relationship. I did not find watching two people be generally miserable together interesting.
Natalia was an underwritten character. For me at least, we got so little from her that I could never understand her motivations for things. All I knew was that she was mostly interested in Buck dying, she was uncomfortable with Bucks personal life and background, and so I never understood why she decided to stick around. And then of course we had Buck say in season 7 that he broke up with her because she was really only interested in death, and I think his death specifically. Mm.
When it comes to Tommy, we've never seen such joy, excitement, contentment, ease, and happiness from Buck. We've never seen Buck feel so comfortable to be himself with a partner before Tommy. Tommy accepts Buck for who he is, and loves him anyway. He supports Buck and always comes when Buck needs him. They're playful with each other and clearly just genuinely enjoy each others company. In Bucks previous relationships, so many aspects felt conditional.
Plus, I like Tommy as a character separate from Buck. He's funny, sarcastic (which Buck loves), generous, kind, loyal, caring, smart, brave, scared, patient, gentle, realistic, a dork, empathetic, and I could go on.
Buck and Tommy may be currently broken up, but the show has made it clear that they both still care deeply about each other (hello, Buck is still baking months after the breakup). They're in a "will they, won't they" situation, and I'm choosing to believe they will get back together in season 9. Their biggest issue is miscommunication, which is not an insurmountable hurdle to cross.

I have a headcanon (involving my other headcanon that the Helmith absorbed the original Warframes' consciousness and mind which ended up making the Helmith more intelligent, maybe even human-like?) that, even tho we seem to be able to control our Warframes' from outside to a certain degree, the Helmith is the one who protect us in situations we can't act ourselves... Like when Stalker gripped us by the throat. It became clear with 1999 that the Helmith is not afraid of us (or at least not like we thought) but instead loves us. They want us near them, they want to protect us and they want to love us. They are part of our Warframes, our companions... Our family. The reason could be the Helmith itself, like we were both used and controlled by the orokin... We were there slaves on some way... Or it could have started long before that. From my understanding the Warframes do not hate us Tenno even tho we ended up taking control over them. Ripping the most important thing away from them, their own self. The thought comes from the fact that we have a few stories telling us about Warframes protecting others and even protecting/caring for their or an Operator. If I remember correctly Jade showed a lot of kindness towards her scared Operator, being in some way a motherly figure (praise the mum warframe). And of course, there is Voruna. Even tho I believe she killed Tuvul mostly because her wolves... We know she ended up taking the Operator with her, cradling them in her arms.
I believe the Warframes knew that those kids were in the same boat as them. Tools for the Orokin, meant to suffer for their sake. They did not value their life. If we believe the Helmith absorbed those Warframes' consciousness and mind in some way... They would remember that. We can tell they are empathetic in some way. Also we as the Tenno seem to deeply care for the Warframes. We seem to collect Warframes not for our own sake but to protect them from being used by others. We also care about their stories, what happened to them and most importantly... We care for their legacy for what they used to be.
If all of this is true to a certain degree and the Helmith is still inside of our Warframes (because there must be something 'biological' inside them) then it would make sense that in some way... Helmith could still take over if it means protecting us...
Maybe I am overthinking and I am totally wrong but I am so down for the Tenno aka Operator/Drifter Warframe/Helmith relationship... Especially after everything Lizzie told us.
The bond between two people build on their shared past creating something so strong that it will help protecting others and saving the world... It sounds amazing.
Helmith, my beloved creature... My friend... My family. Together we will save the worlds, our loved once and last but not least...
Ourselves.

Gem Placements bro
Tumblr media
idk if anyone has talked about this or watched this guys videos but apparently all gem placements have different meanings and honestly after watching the videos I hate seeing people’s ocs with their gem not correlating to their personality (I know I’m picky)
the videos are by toonsnooper on YouTube if you want better/more explanations I’m just giving a summary and my thoughts on oc idea and stuff
Forehead placement - gems with forehead placements tend to be more tactical, technical very smart. They can tend to be a bit of perfectionists as well and a desire to be in charge. They’re very logical gems. Examples of this would be Pearl, Peridot, and White Diamond. (This one is self explanatory a bit)
Nose placement - okay obviously this one belongs to Jasper. Jasper charges head first into battle, and toonsnooper refers to Jasper as hard-nosed, which means realistic, determined, and tough-minded which Jasper is all of. She walks with her nose in the air, so a nose gem placement could refer to confidence and toughness.
Chest placement - Several gems in Steven universe have their gem on their chest. Amethyst, Bismuth, Blue Diamond, Yellow Diamond, Spinel, and others are all seen to have their gems placed on their chest. Said in video, these gems wear their heart on the outside. These gems tend to be more emotional and may even act irrationally out of emotional outbursts. They believe strongly and feel very deeply. (If I was a gem I would have my gem placed on my chest :3)
Stomach placement - Pink Diamond, Steven, Volleyball (pink pearl), and others have gems on their tummys. These kinds of gems tend to be underestimated and maybe even pushed to the side. They approach situations with a more empathetic outlook and try to understand.
Back placement - Lapis Lazuli is one of the only gems with her gem on her back. Because she can’t see her gem (mostly worded by toonsnooper) her own identity is hidden from her and she’d have to twist in uncomfortable ways to even see or reach her gem. The fact that her gem is on her back makes her so vulnerable to threats, forcing her to be on guard and constantly weary and defensive.
Arm and Leg placement - Gems placed on the arms tend to represent brute strength— several quartz soldiers are shown with this— and gems placed on the legs may represent a more wondering gem like leggy (the ruby) since she’s always confused and never knows where her legs are taking her. I think though, leg placements can also make up for an adventurous and even confident gem, who knows where their legs are taking them.
Palm placement - I’m talking about Garnet specifically and once again this is mostly worded by toonsnooper. Gems placed on the palms show a sense of self identity, and he refers to Ruby and sapphire as two parallels in different universes which is why they pair so well as garnet. The reason being self identity is because normally when characters figure out who they are they look at their palms. When garnet does that, she KNOWS who she is and she’s proud of that.
Malachite - I’m just adding this bc I like the way he talks about this fusion. Jasper and Lapis aren’t too well together because Jasper’s gem is on her nose, always ready to charge forward, but with Lapis’s gem on her back, she recoils, wanting to stay behind. They don’t match in any way and with Jasper’s nose trying to push forward, Lapis’s back wants to well, stay back.
if you made it this far thank you for reading my yap and check out toonsnooper or else I’ll tickle you. I really think gem placements should be incorporated more into gemsonas/ocs personalities and things like that. I didn’t include more minor ones but yeah I just went off of memory :3
if you guys wanna know more without watching the videos then lmk :3

NAMJOON’S IDEAL TYPE (RM pt. 1)
~ a manifestation of his ideal girlfriend. Continuation into part 2 and part 3. Masterlist here.
Key words: kind, warm, intelligent, independent, extroverted, chic, passionate, career-oriented.
Tumblr media
Her personality:
Unlike Jungkook and Yoongi who I would see being more open minded when it comes to their relationships, Namjoon would be quite specific with whom he chooses to date.
• A lot of depictions of Namjoon’s girlfriend type her as cold and intimidating, but I mostly disagree. He once said his celebrity crush is Blake Lively, so I see him drawn to someone warm, kindhearted, and friendly, but also self-assured and practical.
• MBTI: ESFJ or ENFJ. A natural leader who is empathetic and compassionate.
• She would be incredibly intelligent, both from an academic and philosophical standpoint. Highly educated with a Master’s or Doctorate degree (he has repeatedly stated that a “sexy mind” is important to him).
• Well-spoken and eloquent. Independent and confident as hell.
• She could have a variety of careers; it could be prestigious such as a doctor or lawyer, but she could also do something more “subtly” influential like health policy or international affairs (or maybe even a highly successful book editor?). I could also see him with another celebrity musician/actor.
• Career-oriented, ambitious, and a hard worker. She would hold a lot of value in her job and have a deep passion for it.
• Naturally kind and humble; qualities they share due to experiences of hardships.
• While not nearly as much as him, she would make a decent amount of money. This would make her independent and self-sufficient.
• She would be quite skilled at whatever she does, including her hobbies and work, due to her high work ethic.
• While kind and good with people, she would not be shy or a pushover. She wouldn’t hesitate to call people out on their bad behavior or stand up for what she believes in.
• Not unlike Namjoon, she wouldn’t want to play games in a relationship. She would be direct and have an all-or-nothing mentality.
• Her hobbies might include creative outlets such as fashion, painting, baking, or visiting museums. I think Namjoon would really enjoy someone who has an appreciation for art in some form.
• She might come off as highly flirtatious due to her friendly nature, but would not get satisfaction out of superficial relationships, nor would she like shallow people.
• High emotional intelligence.
• She might be a little impatient, which is well balanced by Namjoon’s calmness and patience.
• Values respect, equality, and kindness (aka gentleman King Kim Namjoon).
• She wouldn’t be intimidated by his fame. She would see him fully as Kim Namjoon the human rather than a celebrity.
Her looks and sexuality:
• While I don’t see Namjoon as superficial, he would undoubtedly be attracted to someone feminine and “pretty”.
• Very likely to be American (but any Race/Ethnicity). While this is obviously not exclusive, he seems to be very drawn to the American career-woman type. It would be nice if she also spoke Korean, but his English fluency would make it easy for them to communicate regardless.
• She would always be well put together and have a strong understanding of fashion.
• Classic, chic style. She could prefer to wear neutrals and lots of black, but I could also see her loving pops of color and gemstone jewelry.
• Red lipstick. Probably smells nice.
• She might wear glasses at home or when she is working.
• Effortlessly sexy. We all know he is a sucker for a sexy woman.
• Somewhat modest, though. She is thin, but naturally sexy due to slight curves and flirtatious nature.
• I do see him preferring someone very well-kempt. She might do pilates or yoga and be subtly toned. She would also have excellent hygiene.
• Long ass legs to match his own. Average to tall height without surpassing him (5’5-5’9 or 165-175 cm). She would love to wear heels nonetheless.
• She might be the same age as him or older; he would unlikely date someone too much younger unless they are as mature and wise as he is. I think he would find dating someone older than him to be super hot.
• She would either be straight or bisexual with a preference for men (I would like to think he would have no issue with this generally, although he might oversexualize it at first).
• Probably gets hit on a lot a quite attractive woman. Although friendly, she would not indulge men she is not interested in.
• Might have a few fine line tattoos on her arms or back that are unique and personal.
• Maybe some extra ear piercings too, but nothing extreme or out of the ordinary.
• She is an overall attractive, well-put together woman. Her confidence and intelligence may seem intimidating, but her warm and friendly aura acts as a people magnet.
• HOWEVER, Joonie is such a kind and open-minded soul that if he met someone he liked and was compatible with, I think all demographics, looks, etc. would be out the window.
• While he comes off as a little woman-crazy, at the end of the day he just wants a deep and meaningful connection with someone.

Vampire Spawn Colour Theory
There seems to be bit of symbolism going on with the vampire spawn and what colours they are wearing. For example, Astarion stands out from his siblings, as his siblings all wear red,
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but Astarion's outfit is almost entirely blue/purple, with more pink/purple and only a hint of red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
which I think probably shows just how isolated he was as Cazador's favourite, even amongst his own siblings.
the only exception to this rule is possibly Leon, who is always seen shirtless and in blue/purple trousers:
Tumblr media
Interestingly, this kind of confirms my theory, as Leon has some evidence to suggest that he was also isolated from the other spawn.
Leon is almost certainly the youngest of the spawn, being a human with a mortal human child basically guarantees that he's only been there for 10 years at most. We know this because in his dairy he says "ever since the master Turned me and forced me to bring Victoria along", proving that Victoria was born prior to his being Turned.
This immediately sets him apart from the others due to his inexperience, his living relatives, and having Victoria move in with him. It's also possible that he's the only human spawn, as Petras is never confirmed to human (to my understanding, he could be half-elven or at a stretch a full elf).
There is also the magic element here, as Leon is confirmed to be a Sorceror (inherent magic) in Dalyria's Journal, and if left to his own devices Astarion picks Arcane Trickster as his subclass of choice, giving him some magic abilities. None of the other spawn have confirmed classes, although there is a theory that Violet is a Bard.
Magic is almost always shown as purple in the game, through Gale's robe, his orb, his magic and Mystra's appearance as well as the ancient sigils.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which could suggest that the thing that sets Astarion and Leon apart from the other spawn (and Cazador and, in association to the colour red, their bloodlust/vampiric nature) is their magic. Which also ties into the Tadpole being magically altered, and that being what frees Astarion from Cazador in the end.
Leon and Astarion wearing blue/purple sets them apart from the rest of the spawn, visually distinguishing them as the outliers.
It also separates them from Cazador's colour scheme, as he wears red and black.
Tumblr media
Cazador wears largely black, with only a red shirt underneath his jacket adding any colour. Perfect for a vampire lord trying to hide his true nature from the masses and nobles - the red is being hidden by the black.
The black could also represent his ties to death, both as someone who is attempting to cause the deaths of 7007 people, and as someone who is undead. It could also represent that he obscures things and keeps secrets, from the public and from his spawn (the Rite of Profane Ascension for example).
Following this line of thought, it's interesting to note that Petras has very little red in his outfit, with more browns and blacks than anything else.
Tumblr media
Possibly suggesting that he's (attempting to) following in Cazador's steps by hiding things. Most likely his true feelings more than anything, as he echoes Astarion's Act 1 personality by covering with seduction and false confidence.
Dalyria wears only red trousers, balanced with a white shirt and brown corset.
Tumblr media
She's more honest about her vampirism, and more empathetic to both Astarion and Petras. She doesn't fully accept her vampirism and is trying to cure it (by killing Victoria).
Violet wears mostly red, with only a purple/black jacket.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If purple = magic, then perhaps the purple is a link to her possible history as a Bard, and the magic she weilded as one. She seems to have accepted her vampirism and takes little issue with her bloodthirst, wreaking havoc on her siblings with pranks targetting their vampirism in particular. (Her diary says she put garlic in Yousen's bed to give him a rash, and she seems to have scared the hell out of Leon with all the attention she gave Victoria, but despite getting into the Favoured Spawn room, she never hurt Vic.)
Yousen's outift is mostly black, with some brown mixed in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
again, he's likely accepted his vampirism moreso than Astarion, Leon, Petras and Dalyria. But he's still slightly unsure of his place, hence the muddy browns, possibly because he's the only short-race of the 7 spawn (almost certainly a Gnome).
Aurelia has the most red of all of them. Dressing almost exculsively in red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's even a red-skinned Tiefling, further matching Cazador's colour scheme. She's the most nervous/openly fearful of the spawn, possibly showing a submission to her vampirism and Cazador by extension.
Leon's lack of any red suggests that he's rejecting his vampirism, and Astarion's sliver of red under his jacket suggests that he's doing the same or is hiding it (he does for most of act 1 to be fair).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fact that Cazador chose to target people who almost all have white/blonde hair suggests that he targeted innocents (white often represents innocence or purity), or that he targeted vulnerable people (white hair often suggests either significant age and therefore difficulting defending onself, or albinism which often causes blindness which also limits their ability to defend themselves).
Aurelia and Leon having darker hair might suggest that Cazador targeted people who had secrets or could be kept secret, or who were closer to death.
Of course none of this applies to irl, but is instead an analysis of what the character design could represent.

Hello to any x files fans out there, I think I am finally ready to start my season 8 journey. Had to pause because I knew what was coming and as someone that was freshly experiencing grief about a year ago, I could not bring myself to continue…
But!!! After a year of religiously consuming fanfic and reading many many msr/x files think pieces (shout out to @randomfoggytiger @thursdayinspace & @deathsbestgirl, I love scrolling your blogs & reading all of your thoughts!!) and also living vicariously through juni’s (mulders-too-large-shirt, not gonna tag her in case this is spoils something about s8) live blogging, I think I am finally ready to jump back in.
I am so looking forward to the episodes I haven’t watched (despite already being irked with some plot lines), but I do like to watch source material for myself!! And the x files is truly some source material!!
For a show that was written in the 90s, the way I am sooooo drawn to Scully as a complex,well-rounded female character that I think even the more modern shows sometimes fail to fully capture. Because she’s just so complex and layered and multi dimensional in a way that I relate to and in the way that I see so many of the women in my own life.
The way Scully is determined and strong and wants to be a boss-ass bitch, but is still sooo kind and empathetic and soft and girly (even though I think she wouldn’t really like to be associated with that term).
Ugh, just ugh!!! As someone who also constantly struggles with wanting to be feminine and also wanting to be taken seriously!! I get it!! I get her!!! And gillian played this really well imo. There is so much depth to the way scully is portrayed even in times of shitty writing or less than compelling plot points. I have never been so drawn into a female character the way I have with her!
And Mulder, my beloved. Definitely one of my all-time favourite male characters. He really is very kind and always willing to empathize with the victim. And the way he carries everything that happened with samantha and wraps it in layers and layers of dumb-ass humour, collapsing into his work and falling into his need to save everyone and everything around him.
What I really like is how he is sooo determined to make the world better in the ways he knows how. And god, the way he claims the need to not trust anyone and be suspicious and question everything but never actually does that at some critical moments!! Because he so badly wants to believe in the goodness of people and wants to believe that he is worth the help, that they see what he’s fighting for and are willing to fight that fight. I want to scream about this so often. There is so much beauty in the subtle vulnerabilities of Mulder’s character and the way that he carries all that!! Again shout out to david for really playing to that in how he acts as Mulder.
And then you put these two complex, flawed, unhinged individuals together and I have never known peace since!!! In the absolute best way. I have to say in the 15 years of being involved in a whole range of fandoms, I have never been quite as taken with a ship as I have been with msr. The way they fall into each other truly has me clutching at my heart.
Because it really really is a meeting of minds and values and essences and an inherent understanding of what it means to exist in this world. They both have their own journey with that last one, but I think the way they move through that journey is soooo complementary to each other and that they could have only undertaken that journey once they met.
… did not mean for this to be an essay haha, but this is what happens when I get started. This was mostly just a post to say if anyone wants to keep me company as I navigate s8 onwards, it would be v v welcomed! Periodic thought posts on the episodes will show up eventually ✨👽🛸

Gale and Katniss - Friends to Strangers
I'm just doing some reading and research on different humanities approaches to studying fictional characters and had a sudden and unexplained bout of rage about Gale? I still have to finish re-reading/watching mockingjay but it just popped into my head.
That scene of Katniss being kind and worried about her prep team after finding them starving and hurt in District 13? I understand that Gale is angry and traumatized - he watched his home being fire bombed and lost most of his town - people he saw everyday. He needs to direct it somewhere and the Capitol is his true target, I understand and empathize. But the prep team - people who are actually fond of Katniss - who were indoctrined all their life and probably until being captured and tortured by 13 didn't really understand the reality of the world they lived in do not deserve his attitude. Nor does Katniss for being kind to people who have been unjustly hurt. That pissed me off. Being angry at her for being kind? Being empathetic?
I don't remember what teenage me thought about Gale exactly, I remember not really liking him much. Thinking back, it was most likely because of his entitlement about Katniss - as if all that time hunting with Katniss means she somehow belonged to him. That idea of ownership, the times he kissed her - always making it about how he needed to do it at least once or he knew she'd kiss him because he was hurt. Not once about love - not implied or otherwise. I've reblogged a post or two of other people talking about Gale having issues with Katniss choosing to spend time with people other than him (unless it's Prim), specifically Finnick. Katniss has grown since her times in the Games and has empathy for people who appear to 'have it all' like those from the wealthier districts and Finnick. She talks to Prim and Finnick about Peeta because they understand that he is important to her, beyond their 'star-crossed lovers' act/reality. But Gale hasn't - in his head, Peeta is a part of the Games still - something that 'took' Katniss away from him. In HG and CF for the games, the quell, and their engagement, and in MJ when she worries about him both before and after Peeta is rescued. That part where Gale offers to kill him for Katniss made me so angry. The idea of 'putting down' someone who can't help their condition, the lack of empathy.
Katniss and Gale were both parentified after their fathers died, Katniss more so because her mom checked out, but it seems like while Katniss grew to be more protective and defensiveness of those she loves, Gale became more aggressive and offensive. Kill or be killed. It's not that I don't understand. I don't like him but he is an interesting character. And SC absolutely fleshed out her characters so well. Readers mostly show the differences between Peeta and Gale, and Katniss and Peeta, but I think it is so so important to also contrast Gale and Katniss. These friends who depended on each other to feed their families who were so deeply twisted by their traumas they became strangers with little in common and no trust between them.
As an adult, reading the books, even from Katniss' perspective - Gale and Katniss don't fit together, slowly growing apart even as they apparently get closer. Not as friends by the time they're in District 13, let alone anything more intimate. The little moments lack the emotional intimacy of those cave scenes and train moments between Katniss and Peeta in HG and CF respectively. Gale and Katniss are both traumatized and twisted by their experiences and their new selves don't fit, not even as hunting partners. Even when they go above ground to hunt in MJ, they have an argument - it's completely different from how they interact in HG.
Gale became more utilitarian and ruthless, less empathetic, from "How different could it be?" (killing humans after hunting animals) in HG to not caring if the workers in District 2 are killed by being trapped in the Nut (mines) in MJ. Katniss in that scene is one of my favourite scenes of her.
Katniss remained kind and empathetic even with her defensiveness - think of the people she cared about and how much she gives people without expecting anything back. Her alliance with Rue - she didn't really care about what she could get back, it was more about protecting this clever little girl who reminded her of her sister. In CF, Katniss wanted Beetee, Wiress, and Mags as allies - she wanted to protect them. These clever, older, people no longer in peak physical condition - who should have been left in peace. Katniss is aware her prep team are silly and vapid but she doesn't really blame them for their ignorance.
Everyone talks about Peeta being kind, and he absolutely is, but Katniss is kind too. Her self-esteem and image of herself is flawed and as an unreliable narrator - her inner monologue doesn't let her see it.

Hyrule Warriors Marin post part TWO.
Alright. LA Marin and HW Marin are more similar than not, but there are some differences; nothing in a recurring dream will be entirely identical, after all.
Let's start with appearance. Both have the same basic build (chubby), skin tone (brown), and hair colour (red). The details differ, though. LA Marin has very curly/lightly coiled hair, freckles, and round ears. HW Marin has wavy hair, smooth skin, and pointed ears. Their noses are slightly different, both large, but HW Marin has more of a nose bridge, and LA Marin's is more 'upturned' (for lack of a better word). Their eyes are a little different as well, with HW Marin having larger, rounder eyes; her eyes look almost 'anime', whereas LA Marin's eyes are less exaggerated.
LA Marin is more mellow than HW Marin. She's happy in a 'kitten found a patch of sunlight' kind of way, with an ever-present melancholy undertone. She's distant and has a habit of spacing out. She has short but intense bouts of restlessness. She's smart but fairly passive, only really driven to action once something spurs her to it. She is however extraordinarily stubborn, even more so than HW Marin.
HW Marin, by contrast, is a lot more energetic. She's impulsive, flighty, and easily distracted, but a real go-getter. She's a social butterfly and endlessly curious, constantly exploring and asking questions. She's obviously a much better fighter than LA Marin, and arguably braver.
The biggest difference, though, is that HW Marin is. A little unhinged.
See, LA Marin was mostly just a normal girl who wanted to wake up. HW Marin is all that, except this is the second time the Wind Fish has been forcibly kept asleep and Koholint was forced to continue beyond its natural lifespan. HW Marin has essentially all of LA Marin's rotting zombie despair, plus her own on top of that, plus a keen awareness of why she feels this way. She knows Koholint is a dream, she knows it's effectively being kept on life support against their will. She knows all this happened, that she and the Wind Fish feel this way, because it wasn't allowed to end. Effectively, she's gained eldritch knowledge about the nature of reality and comprehended it.
So she's a little fucked up. She loves death and completely fails to see why she should feel bad about killing. Fundamentally does not understand why having Hyrule or the world end would be a problem. She's entropy's no. 1 fan. If entropy doesn't get you she fucking will.
As such, she's not entirely morally aligned with the good guys. She's a bit of a rogue force, siding with whomever she sympathises with the most, likes better, or will help her fuel her own goals. Mostly this lands her on Hyrule's side, but not always. Her love for fighting also makes her a real force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, so although Hyrule's forces aren't the biggest fan of her loose loyalty, they'd definitely rather have her on their side than not.
HW Marin is not a serial killer or edgelord or anything. She's most comparable to an excitable toddler taking you wildly off guard by telling you what they'll do at your funeral. She's a silly goose who'll occassionally say something really worrying and give people whiplash. She's still kind, empathetic, friendly, and happy to help others. Her moral compass just works on a different axis than most people's, because her world is different from most people's. Preservation of life is not a priority for her; rather, she believes in helping people live life to their fullest, and giving them a kind ending when the time comes.

hi there! this isn’t about sex itself, but since periods are usually a part of sex ed and i’ve literally just been woken up because the cramps were bad enough, i thought i would ask — is it normal to be in a lot of pain when you’re on your period?
context: i still live with my abusive parents, who don’t let me take any kind of pain medication after a suicide attempt at thirteen, so i know that this problem might just be that i need to take a strong painkiller. also the pain doesn’t ever last more than three days? like the first three days (and sometimes the days leading up to it) of my period are always hell but then it’s fine, i have no pain afterwards.
but the problem is that the pain is… bad. like being woken up in the middle of the night because my sides hurt and my legs hurt isn’t uncommon, and there’s this weird thing where i’m scared to use the toilet during these first three days because it makes my butt and my sides hurt so much that i genuinely can’t move and have to bite myself to stop myself from screaming. sometimes i’ll be in so much pain, usually in my sides but also sometimes in my stomach or legs or my butt, that i can’t even move, so i just kind of… have to lie pressed into my bed and hold my breath.
my mother has always just told me that she had worse pain when she still used to get her period, and that i’d be completely fine if i just listened to her and used a hot water bottle (i have poor circulation, so hot/cold stuff just doesn’t really feel great for me usually), and i’ve always just kind of accepted that. i know it’s common for people who get periods to talk about how painful things like cramps are, but i genuinely usually feel so miserable for the first couple days of my period that if i don’t need to get out my bed, i literally won’t at all.
i’m just wondering… is everyone who gets periods in as much pain as i usually am, at least for the first couple days? or, since i know that people experience periods differently, are people in more/less pain than i am but it’s fine since this isn’t that bad and i should just take medication each month for it? idk, but ever since i started to get periods they’ve genuinely always made me feel so so bleak and in agony, and i’m someone i’d consider who has a maybe above ‘average’ pain tolerance (i have chronic back pain, migraines, and health issues that make it easy for me to sprain/fracture my ankles which i’ve unironically managed to do about eight times in the past two years — again, unfortunately all of this with mostly no painkillers unless i can get them from the school first aid box), so i just… don’t know anymore, but i thought it couldn’t hurt to ask.
anyways, unrelated but i really do love this blog — the reblogs are always good things to read as someone who’s still unpacking being raised by very puritanical parents, and the asks always offer good advice too, very empathetically in a way that sometimes catches me off guard (there was one post on here that was something about how the asker’s father would belittle them and i think your reply said something like ‘it’s not your fault and nothing’s wrong with that aspect of you’… which i know sounds obvious but that was something that i don’t think had ever been obvious to me ever since my father started doing the same when i was younger. it was really comforting to hear, is what i mean, and your replies often are. so thank you for that! and for the time + energy i can imagine it takes to run this, you post/rb so often!)
Hi! This is absolutely a sex ed question, you're right!
So, first, let me make one thing clear: no! You are not supposed to be in this level of pain on your period. Some pain is understandable but once it gets to the point it's bad/debilitating in Any fashion, something is going wrong.
But I also want to say, being in an abusive living situation can fuck up your periods. And so can being restricted from pain relief, which-just in case you're not aware-is another type of abuse.
But what you're talking about sounds like more than just a lack of basic pain relief. That's very disabling, even if it doesn't last long. It may be that intense reactions to periods run in your family [especially since your mother mentioned experiencing something similar] but that's still something you should be getting something like specialized pain meds for or even stopping your periods altogether.
What you're talking about, especially on top of an abusive living situation, is very unhealthy for you to have to deal with.
Not everyone is in that much pain. Some people are but that's a medical condition. It's a disability! What you're talking about is a disability. It can be caused by PMS or endometriosis or PMDD or it could even be connected to whatever causes your other chronic pain but it's still very much something your parents should be getting you checked out for.
Even if your mother had the exact same pain on her period, that doesn't mean you should have to suffer through it, especially not with her revoking your access to basic pain relief. That's all completely unacceptable and I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.
I'm not sure how helpful this is but I hope it's at least good to know the pain levels you're dealing with are unacceptable and Not "normal" period pain.
Also I'm so glad you're learning and enjoying the blog, especially the advice. I also grew up in an abusive household so to hear it's helping someone else in a similar situation means the world to me, fr. 💕 Sending love, Anon. <3

I've just finished one of Noelle's anecdotes and let me say this:
Jean, you have the patience of a saint.
You are so calm, considerate and compassionate even when somebody messes up so badly that everybody else would probably be fuming (and feel like they just narrowly avoided death by accidental decapitation).
Even when Noelle catapults a sword through your office window so hard it gets stuck in the ceiling and nobody can get it out you not only don't scold her, you go out of your way to help her improve (in a very encouraging way and while praising her a lot) and comfort her with humour (which also calls the reputation that you are not funny into question - I loved Jean's reply, it just sounded so...human/down-to-earth and nice).
I honestly never want to hear how "mean" or "bad" Jean is to Noelle ever again. It was never true before anyway - this idea is based on an incredibly bad-faith reading of the lore that ignores pretty much everything in favour of Jean and also everything that would demand a critical look at Noelle's behaviour (not at all in the sense that Noelle is a bad person or anything, but in the sense that she is unfortunately so resistant to any kind active, direct input from Jean, who tries so hard to help her, that Jean is pretty much out of options - and yes, I have examples and lore “citations”).
Jean has this very weird misfortune that she and her actions are often viewed in a uniquely bad light that assumes all kinds of unfavourable motivations underlying her behaviour, when in reality those assumptions are untenable and inaccurate. All while the things that are positive about her or that harm her are often not taken (as) seriously or not given as much weight (with very hard-hitting lore that would be front and center in analyses, if she was for example a male character, sometimes barely being relevant in discussions).
----
I think this anecdote also really underlines how bad Klee's destruction has to be for Jean to take such drastic measures when trying to contain her because it really disproves that Jean is just some super-strict rule fetishist that punishes Klee because she's a stuck-up mean "mom". She is so lenient and understanding with other people's mistakes and it takes a lot to make her angry. She makes an effort to solve problems empathetically and productively and only when things *really* (and repeatedly) cross some very important lines she feels like she has to resort to tough measures (but also very clearly doesn't enjoy those). And even with Klee, we've never actually seen the real Jean be *angry* angry . She's still mostly just stern (with a strong dose of softness shining through).
(We only ever see an exaggerated monster version in Klee's imagination and tales but this is not reflected in any actual behaviour we have ever seen from Jean.
Tbh this whole "angry cartoon Jean" is a very deliberate move by Hoyo to (unfairely) cast her as an irrationally raging, nagging "mom" figure for their running gag when this image has a) very little to do with the real-life Jean and b) conveniently downplays/turns into a joke the very, very canonical danger that Klee's bomb pose to life in Mondstadt several times a week.)

i think one reason peaks makes people so uncomfortable is that it's a very empathetic show, and it's full of righteous anger, and yet it still... does not 'matter' what kind of person you are when you're a character on it --- which is to say, it does [angel the series vc] MATTER, but being deserving won't save you. no one gets a happy ending because they earn it: no one really gets a 'happy ending', period, or even really any ending at all. everyone just gets, well, life. you'll probably be dealt whatever the most likely fate in your path is if there's nobody there to move you out of it. i think that people incorrectly think the 'goal' of the show was, you know, We Will Stop This From Happening Again. i think that a lot of other people incorrectly think the 'goal' of the show is to basically paint a cynical [and misogynistic] portrait of the world where everything gets worse forever. and it's just... neither of those things? at all? rather, the point is more that we owe it to ourselves to try to make things better for each other. regardless of how hopeless it seems. regardless of what the consequences might be, or even how long it's been. the point is that that's the only power any of us have. there's no room for cynicism in twin peaks: in plenty of the characters, sure, inevitably, but not within the narrative itself. things are constantly happening that shouldn't happen, things there's no excuse for or that just suck. sometimes there's nothing we could have done about them. sometimes there's plenty we could have done, but didn't. sometimes we do everything we can do, and it still all goes to hell --- but that's still a better way to live than just not caring, is the message.
i understand why a lot of people don't like it --- that's normal, i think. it's not usually much fun to watch. it took me several tries, and even then, for a while there, i mostly just bitched about everything. i hated the return the first time i saw it (this being my favorite season by about ten miles). it's triggering as all hell. it's also not remotely rewarding in the same way most things we enjoy are. but i kind of think that is the reward, too: to get to inhabit a world where you have no choice but to be reminded that there are always --- literally, no matter what, always --- completely average People Like Us who are trying, and who will try, and who won't stop trying. who will make you want to try, too. and that really feels like a rare sort of media privilege to me.

enough time has passed but something about the way nonblack and even some black people would cling on to louis and be very empathetic and understanding of his struggle as a black queer man, but in the same breath would be very cruel to black women in his narratives like claudia and his sister, and the black girls he pimped out, makes me realize how louis was a character that certain people clung on to to say that they cared about queer black people and our struggles, but because of that they felt they had an excuse to be misogynistic to black women. it's that whole 'louis is my favorite character, he is a black and queer man so even if i say unfair things about the black women in the show, I'm not racist because i like louis'. Keep in mind, Louis himself has a history of repeated violence against black women.
I saw this post on twitter, mostly being consumed by nonblack people and it shocked me the way that people completely reworte grace's character and her relationship with louis to make her seem worse than lestat. nevermind the fact that grace accepted louis and his sexuality and was kind to him, and the only reason she started turning on him was because he became distant and violent after being with lestat.
Tumblr media
The need to call an actual black woman racist, when lestat is right there-- who is canonically racist and compared to a slave master is beyond me. but it makes me realize the hostility for black women in shipping spaces, and how a lot of nonblack, and yes, some black people liking louis gives them a certain shield to release that misogynoir because they know at large they won't be held accountable. Loustat is a big ship, the most popular, louis is the most liked character, of course when black women - the most hated people in fandom spaces - go after him it's a free for all.
Keep in mind, this is their mother's service, and both Louis, Claduia and Lestat were incredibly disrespectful. Keep in mind the time, when racism was also a huge issue. So bringing a man who IS racist to a somber BLACK family function like this...yeah... Grace has every right to be mad. Especially after all the chances given.
Tumblr media
Op also brings up this scene. Again it's crazy to me how Grace, a Black woman who has also faced this type of racism if not WORSE is suddenly painted as a racist when Lestat himself is standing right there. Yes, back then it was (and still is) racist for white people to call men boys, but assuming that Grace is doing it because of racism, and not the fact that at this point after abandoning his family, Louis lives completely off of Lestat. This again, shows a divide, because why are you as a non-black person calling a Black woman racist and comparing her to a racist lawyer and not his actual racist white bf.
I also saw this response to that very tweet, and we see a person actually happy that louis is violent toward her.
Tumblr media
like i mentioned before, louis has a history of violence toward black women. his sister, the girls he pimped and claduia. instead of seeing that as something to be called out about his character, people are extremely happy when he enacts violence toward black women. so yeah, food for thought.
and i also show this pic below. Louis kisses/touches her without her consent. she is afraid of him, he has been violent toward her. he threatens violence against, and he touches/kisses her without her consent to show her that he has the ability to hurt and harm her and no one can stop him if he wants to.
Tumblr media
This doesn't stop with Grace.
Like it's clockwork. Louis is violent to Cluadia, and then throughout season 2 in France he is emotionally distant and abusive toward her. her whole existence is to cater to his needs and desires because he wanted her. their relationship started off as a form of exploitation, desire and abuse to please HIM and at the end of the day she suffered for it and he still gets to live, he finds lestat at the end, etc. but black women in his life literally suffer.
Lastly, I wanna say that it's clear louis is in an abusive relationship of some sorts, and I'd be open to talking about that if OP and a lot of other loustat shippers didn't make it seem like Grace is worse to Louis than lestat ever was.
update:
then we have gems like this <3.

hey so how do you think Vash and wolfwood would deal with meeting a human reader who becomes his crush who actually had dreams and nightmares of meeting him one day long before they met. Reader doesn’t say they have psychic dreams for a long while (mostly cuz they’ve been called crazy by normal people in past) until Vash or Wolfwood notice patterns and straight up ask what crushes deal is. It seems they were somehow fated to actually meet. The dreams and nightmares are out of order, so nobody knows when they’re gonna come true? Like they saw sweet moments between them, but crush also doesn’t flinch when his feathers actually start showing cuz they had dreamt it? Or for wolfwood, his past comes up and crush doesn’t flinch? Crush is able to react if they notice one of their nightmares becoming true and change the outcome slightly. Meanwhile, if a happy dream occurs, crush keeps their mouth shut and lets things play out?
When Vash and Wolfwood encounter a human reader who becomes their love interest, they would initially be intrigued and perhaps a bit skeptical. The idea of someone having premonitory dreams and nightmares about them would be hard to believe, especially considering their pasts and the hardships they've faced.
Vash, with his kind and empathetic heart, would likely be the first to notice the patterns in the love interest's behavior and words. He would sense that something deeper is happening and, with his curious and caring nature, would directly ask about the dreams. Upon discovering the truth, Vash would feel a mix of surprise and relief, understanding that perhaps destiny does play a role in their lives. He would feel even more connected to the love interest, knowing that they have seen both the sweet and difficult moments and still chose to stay by his side.
Wolfwood, on the other hand, would be more skeptical and protective. His dark past and emotional scars would make him hesitant to believe in such premonitions. However, upon noticing the consistency of the dreams and the sincerity of the love interest, he would begin to accept the possibility. When his painful past comes to light, he would be surprised to see that the love interest does not waver, as they had already dreamed of these moments and were prepared to face them alongside him. This would further strengthen the bond between them, showing Wolfwood that he is not alone in his struggles.
The love interest, upon realizing that one of their nightmares is becoming reality, would act quickly to change the outcome, using their prior knowledge to protect Vash or Wolfwood. This ability to intervene would be crucial in moments of danger, creating a dynamic of mutual trust and support.
On the other hand, when a happy dream comes true, the love interest would choose to remain silent and let things happen naturally, savoring each moment of happiness with Vash or Wolfwood. This balanced approach between intervention and acceptance would help build a solid and deep relationship, where both sides feel understood and valued.

Cassie Sandsmark Headcanons
She met Steve Trevor when she was 13 years old, at which point she had already been Wonder Girl for a few months.
Every time she went out with Diana and Steve, people mistook her for their daughter.
She's the only one in the Wonder Family who knows how to cook. She learned from Ferdinand and can make anything from Greek food to protein brownies for Bart.
She met Carter Hall (Hawkman) when she was 8 years old at an archaeological event her mother took her to. Carter found it amusing that an 8 year old girl knew more about the exhibits at the gala than half the adults there.
She knows how to handle firearms; Artemis and Steve taught her. Though Diana and Helena were very difficult to convince.
She has mixed feelings about Vanessa Kapatelis. A part of her feels sorrow and pity for what happened to her, but mostly she despises her for the horrible things she did. She'll never forgive her and hopes that wherever Vanessa is, she only hurts herself.
She doesn't understand when people say she's perfect, that she doesn't make mistakes, or when they idealize/infantilize her as someone kind who would never hurt anyone, even at the cost of her loved ones.
She's kind, empathetic, and a great person, but she's also resentful, vengeful, and will NEVER forget a slight, humiliation, or harm done to her or involving of her loved ones.
She doesn't like Jason Todd or Roy Harper. She won't forget that Jason tried to kill Tim, or that Roy blamed Donna for the death of little Robert (Donna's son).
She tried to teach Yara how to cook, but it didn't work out; Yara almost burned down the kitchen. Cassie helped her and laughed about it for a week.
Of her generation, she is the public face of heroes; she's the de facto leader, and everyone trusts her.
She'll fervently deny it, but she was flattered when Granny Goodness wanted her to join and lead Darkseid's Female Furies.
She has a notebook where she records her fears, questions, and unsent letters to loved ones. The notebook has been destroyed and rewritten many times.
She speaks more languages than she publicly acknowledges. She knows Ancient Greek, Latin, Hebrew, French, and some Portuguese thanks to Yara. She hides this so people don't ask her to translate every single thing they find (whether it's magical or not).
She believes in the gods but doesn't worship them. She treats them more as forces of power rather than moral figures, unlike others. She has a habit of praying in Ancient Greek with a hint of sarcasm in her voice (this is a custom she enjoys and won't change, no matter what Diana or Donna say).
She is very fond of Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire.
