Her status as a half undead made Naize grow rather reckless in battle, making the dhampir turn into a martyr when things got critical due to how fast she could heal or how she couldn't die like any other vampire could.

Her overprotectiveness often worries her fellow Gallionians as she has always been on the frontline every time she hunts Grimms with the Outrider Knights, almost losing her life once when a knight was pinned by a dragon-type Grimm, Naize ended up taking a large swipe on the shoulder, almost severing her arm.

A hard headed person in nature, didn't mind letting herself get stabbed with Dante and Vergil were fighting as her promise to Eva is what kept her going.

Her weapons, Ensanguined Emberblade is a legendary weapon that often hurt Naize if her strikes weren't finessed, the Arthurian Blade makes Naize a very reckless fighter on the field, sending her out to the field being a martyr due to her Semblance: Devour ever since witnessed a fellow Faunus by the name of Vinson Sable died under her leadership, despite him being a fellow Ensanguined like her, she vowed to always be stronger to prevent it happening ever again.

A well placed stake in her chest rendered her to slumber instead of death, reasons how she missed two centuries of knowing her parents' whereabouts in Marvel/DC universe.

Have been kissing Death at their door so many times as she can be a very reckless person once she knew her loved ones are involved, Death in Marvel has known Naize personally for that.

In BG3/DnD, Naize's weakness is only running water, reasons why she prefers flying or travelling as a dire wolf if on foot, she also find food tasteless to her, she only eats out of courtesy and having curiosity in the textures, do not ask her how the food taste, she probably will lie to you.

Most of the time, Naize would feel out of place as she is experiencing time lock where everyone and everything around her ages and she hardly couldn't, making forming relationships or friendships often scare her a lot is the huge factor why she prefers being reckless, hoping she can die to join her friends in the afterlife.

Backstory in BlazBlueverse:

Naize is a copy of Ragna the Bloodedge, created by Edward Gallagher and Cassius Sedrinne, Edward gave Naize a purpose to stop Ragna in case he becomes out of control, Cassius on the other hand wanted to have Naize as a weapon to conquer the world, trying to betray Edward behind his back, essentially the two researchers killed one another with Cassius almost becoming another Arakune case; ended up getting killed by Naize when she found Edward murdered.

- Respecting Edward's final request to stay alive and keeping an eye on Ragna, she has been dutifully followed the orders and has been around to fish Ragna out of trouble.

- Reaching the events of Centralfiction, Naize decided to roam the world, still committing her promise with the late Edward. Feeling Ragna's disappearance, she decided to visit the grave where Noel erected in his name, letting Yukiryu to stand next to Aramasa, she bid to Ragna farewell before disappearing as her existence is no longer needed since Ragna, the original has ceased his function.

Backstory in Baldur's Gate 3/Dungeons and Dragons:

[Background: Noble], [Race: Dhampir]

Naize is a well-known adventurer in all of Baldur's Gate and Sword Coast as Naize the Merc, a mercenary for hire depends on your morale and coin, however she doesn't usually charge you for the entire amount as she is a noble who lives rather humbly outside of the Gallagherian Castle.

- Birth: Edward is able to master the highest spell regarding necromancy and makes a deal with Asmodeus to help him and Eivana conceive a child as he had done a similar feat with late Claudia, making Asmodeus the godfather of Naize at a certain age in the future thus becoming her fount of power.

- Losing her right arm after being defeated by Cazador Szarr to save Astarion, Naize was healed and offered help by Asmodeus to increase her power so she can use her blade for good, thus Naize becomes Asmodeus' warlock and decided to train to become a better swordswoman, mostly training herself so she can defeat Cazador and setting the Szarr's spawns free, earning herself Ensanguined Emberblade which is her trademark weapon.

- Using her people's skills and being a charismatic dhampir, she later on (in BG3: was kidnapped by the mind flayers, in DnD: was kidnapped by the Cult of the Unbound) due to her connection as a mercenary + someone with a noble background and huge influence in Baldur's Gate.

- Nonetheless, Naize pushed through her demise and thrived to be a better protector of Baldur's Gate no matter her undead race traits. Naize has been traveling with a human cleric who is now her long time partner known by everyone as Ramiel Caldwell.

Backstory in Marvel:

A dhampir living for 300+ years, Naize was found by a group of tomb raiders that broke into the Gallagherian Castle that is now abandoned after being ambushed by a group of religious crusaders. Naize was able to help her parents to safety, leaving her to fend the crusaders herself, overwhelmed; she managed to convince them to stake her instead, putting Naize to a two hundred years worth of slumber instead of killing her.

- Once awake in the modern era, Naize woke up once the raiders found her in her tomb, ended up killing them as she learned they had desecrated her place of rest. Asmodeus then appears, worried for his goddaughter after her demise with the crusaders, telling her what happened to her parents; confirmed to be alive still after she helped them.

- Now, being an ancient creature learns her way into the modern era, able to use her previous social skills and learning quips on the go. Once learning that the city has always been in danger night and day, Naize decided to use her elusive dhampiric talents to serve her own justice.

- Found by Blade in a misunderstanding, they clashed swords before he noted who she was; a dhampir that was before him told by Whistler and she has been staying with Blade ever since, joining him to hunt unruly vampires or usually went for a manhunt, feeding off unrepentants.

- Between the two, Naize mostly didn't mind helping other heroes out joining the Avengers, but would leave afterwards as she prefers her kind of vigilante which often grinds Steve's gears once in a while.

- Naize's role for now is being a dhampir that stood in between the line of where the supernatural and the mortal kind exist and always has been playing fair to kill the unruly and the unrepentant in Asmodeus' name.

Backstory in DC:

Similar introduction to Marvel, being staked and awake to the modern era by a group of tomb raiders, knowing her parents are safe, Naize decided to live in Gotham for a while, being a librarian by the day and a vigilante in the night, feeding off the unrepentants and the unruly in Asmodeus' name before discovered by Batman and John Constantine.

- Naize has indeed many times eluded them as Bruce has often tried to include her into Justice League's activities, she accepted and often follows anyone that needed the supernatural assistance from her as her connection with Asmodeus helped her traverse anything regarding that topic.

The duchess of Gallione, Naize has grown to be a strong yet bitter woman as she had lost her partner, Ramiel Caldwell when he was involved in the slaying of the Behemoth.

- Living in Gallione and becoming its ruler and protector, Naize has always been on the frontlines with her fellow knights, creating few units to protect and serve the people of Gallione:

Outrider Knights - A unit for Hunters and Huntresses

Dreadknights/used to be known as Juggerknights - A unit for internal human affairs and conflicts

Eclipsoars - An aerial unit consists of aerial Faunuses and airborne Ensanguined

(These are provided by Matthew, the owner of the RWBY: Black Reliquaries series on YouTube - now privated due to personal reasons)

- Always has a disdain and distaste towards Ozpin, knowing well his history and never liked the idea of anyone in Remnant building schools and creating soldiers out of youngsters but helped team RWBY nonetheless when they sought refuge in Gallione.

- Gallione in the Black Reliquaries series has been holding onto a piece of the twelve Relics; known to many as the Black Labrum.

Backstory in DMC:

A dhampir born into the Gallagher family, daughter of a necromancer, Lord Edward Gallagher and his beloved human wife, Eivana, Naize has been a professional swordswoman and spellcaster under Asmodeus' guidance.

- Ever since the Gallagher family had learned of a certain demon named Sparda decided to rebel against the demonic brethren, Asmodeus had decreed that Naize should assist Sparda in closing the gates of Hell from Mundus bringing his army into the mortal world. Eva's relationship with Naize and the Gallaghers have been growing strong ever since.

- Once Mundus murdered Dante and Vergil's mother in the fire, Naize was able to scoop Eva's dying body in her arms, begging the mortal to stay alive and had pondered if she could revive Eva as a vampire but Eva refused as she wished to die peacefully but asked the dhampir to protect her sons in case there is danger that should befell them for being children of Sparda.

- Taking the oath, Naize has been playing guardian angel by hiding in Dante's shadows and often guiding him by alerting him to possible dangers and shows him where to go since Vergil has apparently been lost in the fire.

- Surprised to see Vergil opposing Dante made Naize feel guilty as she wasn't able to find Vergil and correct the blue son of Sparda in time thus she made her appearance to always prevent the two brothers from killing one another.

- Naize was missing in action during DMC4 as she went away after someone tried to bind Asmodeus back to Hell as he has been residing with Naize on mortal plane for far too long as the residents of Hell learned of Asmodeus' distaste against Mundus for what he did to Sparda.

- DMC5 rolls around and Naize had met Nero and Nico once she learnt what happened to Dante and Vergil, surprised that the team basically separated because of Urizen; Vergil's demon half. Naize mostly helped Nero when it comes to tougher enemies and was surprised to hear the truth of Nero's birth and origins, later on continue to tag along with Dante in his further adventures.

Backstory in Castlevania:

The first dhampir to be born somewhere in Wallachia, daughter of a known necromancer and a bard, Lord Edward Gallagher has been living in the shadows with his family, mostly away from any humans and vampires, Naize serves the family as their protector once she reaches a certain age that disallows her from growing older, unlocking her birthright pact with Asmodeus, a known prince of Hell that is responsible for her birth that came to fruition.

- A known dhampir in the vampire community, Naize is mostly close to Dracula, usually visiting his library to read books regarding spells and wonders of the world. She even liked Lisa's company once she heard that the human woman is smitten by Dracula and so did the other.

- Once Alucard was born, Naize was away until she returned to see Lisa and Alucard, surprised to know that Lisa gave birth to a child normally, unlike what Edward and Eivana went through to conceive her, nonetheless, she was happy to know and met Alucard.

- Naize again was away to do Asmodeus' bidding and that's when Lisa was taken away by the Church people, that's when she felt something was wrong and immediately returned to Targoviste. She wanted to save Lisa but stopped by her as she spotted Naize and Alucard stood very far from where she was burning. Naize in denial, wanting to save Lisa but once she heard Lisa's final speech, she knew she had to let Lisa go.

- Once confronting Dracula with Alucard by her side, she and Alucard tried to fight Dracula, telling him that Lisa wouldn't wish for him to become like this but ended the two dhampirs got themselves injured, Naize immediately gets Alucard to safety and decided to have him slumber as she learns of the strings of fate, one too has been assigned for Naize:

"The Gallagherian ally will arise when destiny soon sees their lights in three."

- Once putting Alucard to his hibernation, Naize has been away, honing her skills to be better, hoping her sword and set of skills to become a better shield for Alucard and his other two companions.

- As she realizes that Alucard has awakened from his beauty sleep, she immediately heads off to look for him, not realizing that Trevor has a different kind of welcoming Naize as they fight immediately, actually admiring Trevor for being able to find with finesse despite looking like a hooligan; she noted.

- Along the way, she enjoys Alucard and Sypha's company, mostly musing the young Speaker with any questions she wanted to ask Naize as Alucard is not much of a people's person.

- When Sypha was able to bring Dracula's castle to where they currently are, she also assisted the three to fight Dracula, trying to hide her pain for hurting someone she looked up to as a father figure. She even stood there and just looked at Dracula in the eyes when Alucard then delivered the final blow to his own father, cradling him in her arms as they both wept in understanding. She in her mind, asked herself if Lisa had been watching their progress from heaven, and wondered if she had fulfilled her promise to Lisa.

- In Nocturne chapter however, Naize returned to Styria, mostly pretending to be under Carmilla's spell so she could help Hector and Isaac usurp the vampire that was responsible for Dracula's demise. Once Styria now gained its new rulers, Naize returned to Alucard once more.

Backstory in Dungeon Meshi:

Similar origins taken from BG3/DnD, Naize is raised to be kind to any mortal folk despite her half undead nature always threw people off at first glance. Dwelling in the underground level, Naize often joined groups or went on solo missions to take out harder monsters to ensure anyone's safety that decided to go further down the levels of the dungeons.

- Meeting Laios in the level where the Undine was spotted, Naize decided to help them as best as she could. Once Marcille sussed out who Naize was, she could only smile and nodded, explaining to the party that she meant them no harm or they wouldn't survive the Undine attack without her assistance.

- Naize was rather surprised about Senshi cooking the monsters' meat while she has been eating or drinking blood from the monsters which raises high concerns from Senshi, she was then treated to a properly cooked meal which made Naize grow curious with the group even more.

- The dhampir was about to leave them to themselves until she learnt of Laios' intention to look for Falin in the deeper depths of the dungeons, out of concern; Naize decided to stay with the party, mostly to keep them out of harm in case of Laios' shenanigans.

- Once finding Chimera Falin however made Naize feel disgusted that someone is able to change the innocents into a monster. Listening to Laios' request to not end Falin, she fought off Falin with her bare hands and even fought Kabru off when he decided to murder Falin while Naize knew the real Falin was still under a spell by the unknown elf.

- Once Falin fled however, Naize was rather determined to see things through with Falin as she made her decision to stay with Laios' group and has been their tank ever since.

Is Naize a preferred top or bottom?

She is a switch, depending on who the partner is.

What kind of jokes do Naize like?

She didn't mind any. If you get her to laugh, you score a point.

Does Naize consume blood?

She does. And usually it is either from her partners or the unruly or the unrepentant from Asmodeus' point of view. Naize would've drunk blood usually twice a week when the night comes.

Is Naize left handed or right handed? Ambidextrous?

She is ambidextrous. Losing a limb in Baldur's Gate teaches her to write with the left hand. In other series, she actually pranks people with this skill.

Is Naize able to have children?

Due to her half undead nature, she couldn't have children. If she is able to, I'm voiding the tiefling/devil children canon as WotC suggests that fact can be voided.

Does Naize have ranged weapons?

She does not. She prefers having a single weapon be it Yukiryu, Ensanguined Emberblade or Arthurian Blade. She would prefer her magic as a ranged arsenal as it is rather versatile and she can bend it anyway she wants. Her dhampiric abilities and traits are more than enough to cover the lack of ranged weapons. Yukiryu like explained about, if tapped into its true form right, Naize is able to conjure blades like Vergil from DMC does.

Favorite food, drinks?

She loves a medium rare steak and nice wine to go with. Although only in BG3/DnD, Naize is unable to taste them, but she loves the texture so much. In DunMeshi, she really liked the grilled Kelpie dish made by Senshi.

Favorite blood from partners or love interests?

[BG3/DnD] Naize will safely say that Ramiel's happened to be sweet yet rich in flavor, full bodied. She admitted to Asmodeus how she feels seduced by his blood.

[Marvel] Logan's her favorite as it gives her an adrenaline rush plus she fights better as it gives her a small boost.

[DC] Bruce's because she knew he always has been well nourished himself. Alfred took good care of this one. *chuckles*

[DMC] Dante. Since he is into that kind of stuff with Naize.

[Castlevania] Alucard's blood didn't feel tainted on her tongue oddly enough, perhaps because they both are dhampirs?

Hi, thank you so much for asking and for making such a cool ask list!! I took a long time to answer haha. I wound up shuffling the names of my main adult OCs and answering these for whoever's name came up first!

Pen: what's one minor moment your character regrets? A small mistake, but something they "can't erase"?

Johann: I guess there’s no particular moment but a lot of small moments for this… but Johann regrets not picking up on his brother Laarni’s suicidal/depressive tendencies sooner. Johann had previously never suspected a thing--for good reason, since Laarni hides it from his brothers very well. After one close call when things get too tough for Laarni and Johann witnesses it, Johann becomes extremely vigilant, checking up on Laarni whenever he can--although subtly, since Laarni hates to think that his younger brothers are worrying about him.

Marker: what's one thing your character would never tattoo on their body, even if they were paid a million dollars for it?

Johann: Honestly if it was to get money for his family to help take care of them, Johann would do absolutely anything, no matter what it was. Even if he hated the tattoo, he’d do it for them.

Crayon: what was your OC like when they were four years old? Were they loud?  Shy? Were they the resident "weird kid" or did they get along with others their age?

CJ: CJ was extremely spoiled and bratty as a little child, and wouldn’t hesitate to scream and cry if things didn’t go her way. Outside of her temper tantrums though, she was extremely quiet. Even her dad was surprised if he heard her voice aside from screaming, and strangers would definitely never hear her speak.

Copics: what is this character's most expensive habit or hobby? Do they ever feel guilty about the money they spend on it?

Gareth: Gareth has no hobbies (usually). He devotes his entire life and work to trying to outdo his love-hate idol Clive’s past feats. Instead of using mechanical means the way Clive did, Gareth uses computers. Since my Gareth story happens in the 1980s, a computer hobby would be extremely expensive, especially for the powerful virtual reality-type machines Gareth is trying to build.  Gareth eventually does try out more hobbies thanks to his mom-crush Flora’s urging, particularly gardening. Rather than feeling guilty about the money aspect of it though, he more feels guilty or frustrated about spending any time on anything other than his plans to outdo Clive. He would never do it if it weren’t for Flora convincing him.

Charcoal: share any unique physical features about this character that are not scars or tattoos.

Pearl: I guess the main thing for Pearl is that she’s very tall (six feet) and looks enough like her brother that they can be mistaken for each other from a distance, although they aren’t twins and are several years apart from each other. She and her brother sometimes called themselves “the Caine brothers” in their early years establishing their robotics company, and the name was rarely questioned.

Tortillon: does your OC "blend in" with the people around them? Physically? Metaphorically?

Glynrie: Glynrie doesn’t physically blend in at all. He’s the only elf and acts quite archaically in a modern city filled with humans. Because of this, as well as because of being a butler, Glynrie tries to stay in the background as much as he can, devoting himself to serving the Khora company and watching out for another servant of the family, Walidah, who is also a homebody. If Glynrie ever left the Khora mansion, he’d definitely stand out, but he blends in well with the Khora family.

Eraser: what's one way this character has changed over time? Either over the course of their story, or over the course of designing them as an author.

Glynrie: Glynrie is an expy of an elf butler named Galion from The Hobbit. Galion doesn’t get to do much in the book, but I really loved him and wrote a ton of fanfics about him, developing him so much that he felt like my own character. I really wanted to keep using Galion even outside of the Tolkien world, so I created Glynrie, who is still an elf butler, but has a much different backstory and different relationships with people around him. Glynrie still has the borderline(?) OCD that I gave to Galion, but now also has a very big protective streak that the old character didn’t really have, as he takes care of his friend and fellow servant Walidah and also works to help his boss Ms Shinzou with anything she needs. I also canonized Glynrie being aroace now; Galion had been “coded” that way even if I didn’t know what that was when I was a kid writing him, but it’s official now.

Building Rose Wilson in D&D 5e

I kinda cannot find myself other things to do, especially as I decided to not do anything for April Fools this year because, well, how do you even top the nonsense that is happening. And feel like making one more of those, so let’s build another daughter of an assassin

Because I shamelessly lifted the template for writing these from Tulok the Barbarian, let’s start with defining some goals for this build. First of all, we need to be able to move and strike like a daughter of enhanced super-soldier with assassin training would. Second, we need to be able to see the future and use it to our advantage. Third, we need a sword striking like a weapon from the future. Finally, we need to be able to do all the acrobatic fighting in armor. Rose’s most popular costume is some weird-ass skintight chainmail, which is likely bad for the skin as hell. Don’t worry, if you’d rather have her indifferent, lighter outfit, I’ll leave a few alternatives to make that work too.

For Ability Scores, we’ll be using Standard Point Array, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. If you or your DM prefers a point buy or rolling, use these as guidelines, just remember you need to have at least 13 in Charisma, Dexterity, and Intelligence, there is going to be some multi-classing here.

Strength: 10, we don’t need it but you are supposed to have at least somewhat enhanced strength.

Dexterity: 14, you’re extremely acrobatic and fast, enough to keep up with likes of Cass Cain or your asshole father.

Constitution: 12, you can take a hit and sadly we’ll be straying from higher hit dices this time.

Intelligence: 13, you are much smarter than some give you credit for. 

Wisdom: 8, you tried to challenge Big Barda to a fistfight, that’s the opposite of this ability score.

Charisma: 15, you may act aloof to people but if you can interrupt Wonder Girl and Supergirl romantic moment with a rocket launcher and not get pulverized, you know how to talk yourself out of trouble.

Race: It’s how D&D calls species! Sorry, Christoper Priest was about burst through the door to remind us Rose is Hmong, and that’s a serious quarantine breach. Anyway, I think she counts as a metahuman, which sounds a lot like Variant Human. If you have an issue with it, pick Half-Elf, but we’ll go with Human. Variant Humans get +1 to two Ability Scores, pick Charisma and Intelligence. You get one free skill proficiency, I’d go with Acrobatics, and one free language, pick something campaign relevant. Finally, you get a free feat. Human Determination allows you to add +1 to your Dexterity and once per long rest give your self an advantage on an ability check, attack roll or a saving throw.

Unarmored Rose: Redistribute +1s so that you have 16 in Charisma and Dexterity.

Background: I wasn’t exactly sure which one to pick, but Rose and her father share that weird thing in their outfits that make them look like pirates so why not, let’s go with that. Criminal and Soldier can also work if, but I like the idea too much. Pirate gains proficiency with Athletics and Perception, navigator’s tools and water vehicles and gain Bad Reputation, which lets you get away with minor offenses in a civilized settlement because people are afraid of you and won’t report it. Rose can be rude to people and get away with it after all.

Now to the meat of the building, character levels

1st Level: We’ll start as a Rogue, gaining proficiency in 4 skills - Intimidation, Deception, Stealth, and Persuasion - Thieve’s Cant secret language, Dexterity and Intelligence saving throws, thieve’s tools, simple weapons, short and longswords, rapiers, hand crossbows, and light armor. Moreover, you can gain expertise in two I’d recommend Acrobatics and Athletics - of those, doubling your Proficiency modifier for them.

Rogue’s also gain Sneak Attack, allowing you to add 1d6 to a ranged or melee attack made with a light or finesse weapon when you have an advantage to attack roll or another, not incapacitated, an enemy of the target is within 5 feet of it and you don’t have a disadvantage on the attack roll. Rapier is a finesse weapon and can easily be refluffled to serve as a stand-in for majority of swords Rose uses.

2nd Level: We’ll now take a quick dip into the Warlock to get you that sword.

Warlock gets an Otherworldly Patron. Hexblade has one forged with some sort of weapon of unknown origin that may be sentient. It has been sort of left ambiguous if Willow is a spirit possessing you or split personality caused by brain trauma, but whichever version you want you can work into this. As Hexblade you are Hex Warrior, gaining proficiency with Medium Armor, shields and martial weapons. Once every long rest you can pick a single weapon you are proficient with that isn’t two-handed and can use your Charisma in place of your Dexterity or Strength for attack and damage rolls made with it.

You also get Hexblade Curse, letting you once per short or long rest curse a single opponent within 30 feet from you that you can see as a bonus action. As long as the target is cursed, which is until a minute passes, either one of you dies or you are incapacitated, you add your Proficiency Bonus to damage rolls against it, crit against it on roll of 19 or 20, and if they die you regain hit points equal your Warlock Level + your Charisma modifier.

As a Warlock, you gain access to Spells. You know two cantrips and two spells and have a single spell slot you regain on short rest. Spells that require an attack roll do it with modifier equal your Charisma Modifier + your Proficiency Bonus, if your target needs to make a saving throw against your spell, Difficulty for it equals the sum of these two numbers +8.

Blade Ward is a Cantrip that until the end of your next turn grants you resistance against bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage. Your HP will not be something to write home about, spoiler warning.

Booming Blade lets you attack as a part of casting a spell, on a hit your target takes damage as from normal attack but if they willingly move until the start of your next turn they take 1d8 thunder damage. 

Hex lets you curse one creature you can see with 90 feet, making you deal it extra 1d6 necrotic damage when you hit it with an attack and grants it disadvantage on all checks for one Ability Score of your choice. It is a concentration spell and lasts up to 1 hour and if your target dies early, you can just move it to another target as a bonus action on your next turn.

Shield is cast as a reaction when you are hit by an attack or Magic Missile, allowing you to add +5 to your AC until your next turn, including against the attack or Magic Missile that caused you to cast it. Play it as you being hit was just your vision and you managed to avoid the damage.

3rd Level: Back to the Rogue now, 2nd Level Rogue gets Cunning Action, allowing you to take Dash, disengage or Hide as a bonus action or use said bonus action to Aim, giving you an advantage on next attack as long as you don’t move during this turn.

4th Level: 3rd Level Rogue bumps their Sneak Attack to 2d6 and gets to choose Roguish Archetype. Swashbuckler gains rakish audacity, letting you add your Charisma bonus to your initiative rolls and use Sneak Attack if you are within 5 feet of an opponent and no other creature is within 5 feet of you and you don’t have a disadvantage on the attack roll. You also gain Fancy Footwork, meaning if you make a melee attack against a creature, it cannot make opportunity attacks against you until the end of your turn. So if your dad drugged another heroine to fight you, you can strike her, don’t even need to hit, and then just slip past her to stab Slade next turn. And if you hit her with Booming Blade she cannot even chase you without taking more damage.

Have I mentioned your dad sucks?

5th Level: 4th Level Rogue gets an Ability Score Improvement, but we’ll go with a feat - Medium Armor Master lets you increase your Dexterity by 1, increases maximum bonus from Dexterity to AC you gain in Medium Armor from 2 to 3 and removes disadvantage Medium Armor imposes on Stealth checks. Rose’s iconic suit is some weird skintight chain shirt or scale armor, but you can even pick up Half-Plate for a total of 18 AC, 20 with a shield, if you want.

Unarmored Rose: Take the feat we will be taking when Rose hits Rogue 8 

6th Level: 5th Level Rogue gains Uncanny Dodge, letting you use your reaction to halve damage against you when you are hit by an attack. Again, play it as you seeing the vision of attack and using that to be able to avoid it. Also, your Sneak Attack increases to 3d6.

7th Level: One more detour, time to start messing with the fate some more. No, not with Doctor Fate, that would be lethal. Anyway, 1st Level Wizard gets a Spellbook with 3 Cantrips and 6 1st Level Spells and 2 1st level Spell Slots. The Save DC and Spell Attack rolls are like Warlock’s but use Intelligence instead of Charisma. Wizard and Warlock count their spell slots separately but you can use one class spell slots to cast spells you know from the other class. Wizard recovers them on a long rest but Arcane Recovery lets you once per day on a short rest recover a number of spell slots equal half of your Wizard level, rounded up.

Friends lets you for the duration gain advantage on all Charisma checks against one creature, but once it ends it is aware what you did and gets angry at you. The fact this is a cantrip explains some things about few of Rose’s relationships.

Message lets you send a small message to another creature and get a short reply. You can use it as a team communicator for rest of the Titans.

Shocking Grasp is a paralyzer, letting you make a meele spell attack against a single target to deal it 2d8 lightning damage (it scales as most damage-dealing cantrips) and making it unable to take reactions until start of it’s next turn.

Cause Fear is a vial of fear toxin you stole from Scarecrow that forces a target to make a Wisdom Saving throw or be frightened of you for the duration or until it akes a saving throw on one of its turns. Doesn’t work on constructs or undead. Honestly, it would be much better as a Warlock Spell but I wanted to get Shield faster, feel free to switch the two around.

Disguise Self is your holographic projector that lets you alert your looks to make you look like another humanoid in the same size category and having the same array of limbs.If fails under closer scrutiny as it is an illusion.

Feather Fall lets you slow down the fall of you and up to five creatures within rage and if those affected reach the ground before the spell ends, they take no damage. I guess it’s your parachute.

Fog Cloud is a fog grenade, obscuring heavily everything within the area for up to 1 hour or until wind disperses it. Use it to retreat if things go badly.

Protection from Evil and Good gives all aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey fiends and undead disadvantage on attack rolls against you (or someone else you use it on), makes you immune to being charmed or frightened by them or, if you already were, grants advantage on saving throws to break out of it. I don’t know if Granny Goddess counts as a celestial but this could be pretty useful against mind control stuff done by Hellfire Club or when Blackest Night falls from the sky again.

Sleep allows you to roll 5d8, add the results and then put to sleep creatures in the spell’s rage of your choice, starting with the one who has the least amount of HP, are put to sleep until the combined HP of creatures you put down this way equals the sum of your rolls. Sleeping gas, a friend of any human fighting superheroes and supervillains on regular basis.

8th Level: 2nd Level Wizard gets an extra Spell Slot and gets to choose a School. School of Divination grants you Portent - after finishing a long rest you roll 2 d20s and write down the results. Until next long rest, you can use these rolls in place of an attack roll, saving throw or an ability check made by you or a creature you can see. The downsides are you have only two of them, each is of single-use, if you don’t spend them they’re lost, you need to declare you use them before the dice is rolled, and you can only do it once per turn. But these are extremely powerful and let Rose act in accordance of visions she sees. Hell, it can easily be played in line with how Doctor Villain theorized her powers work

Pretty much how it is working.

9th Level: So now that made these detours, let’s go back to Rogue for some more fighting prowess and better skills. 6th Level Rogue gains Expertise in two more skills, I’d go with Intimidation and Persuasion.

10th Level: 7th Level Rogue gains Evasion, letting you take no damage instead of half damage if you succeded on Dexterity Saving Throw against all spells and effects that ask of one. Your sneak attack increases to 4d6.

11th Level: 8th Level Rogue gets an Ability Score Improvement, but we’ll instead take one last feat - Lucky gives you 3 luck points per long rest that you can spend to roll one additional die on an attack roll, ability score or saving throw and choose which result is used. You can also spend them when a creature attacks you to roll a d20 and decide which roll the attacker is using.

Unarmored Rose: Spend the rest of your Ability Score Increases to round up first your Charisma and then Dexterity.

12th Level: 9th Level Swashbuckler gains Panache, letting you make a Persuasion check against target’s Insight - if they fall nonhostile creature is charmed by you for one minute and hostile one gains disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures other than you and cannot make opportunity attack against a creature other than you for 1 minute or until you are more than 60 feet apart or another ally hits them with an attack or a spell. Also, your Sneak Attack increases do 5d6.

13th Level: 10th Level Rogue gets an Ability Score improvement, time to invest into Charisma.

14th Level: 11th Level Rogue you gain a Reliable Talent - whenever you roll for a skill you are proficient with, you treat rolls below 10 as 10. And your Sneak Attack increases to 6d6.

15th Level: 12th Level Rogue gets another Ability Score Improvement, round up your Charisma.

16th Level: 13th Level Swashbuckler can execute an Elegant Maneuver to, as a bonus action gain an advantage on the next Acrobatics or Athletics check you’ll make during the same turn. And your Sneak attack rises up to 7d6.

17th Level: 14th Level Rogue gains Blindsense, which lets you discern the location of hidden or invisible creatures near you.

18th Level: 15th Level Rogue gains Slippery Mind, which means proficiency in Wisdom saving throws. Which is good if Slade tries to gaslight you into his new bullshit again. Your Sneak Attack increases to 8d6. Also, your dad sucks, have I mentioned that?

19th Level: 16th Level Rogue gets our las Ability Score Improvement, increase your Constitution for better Hit Points and Concentration, remember your HP increases also retroactively.

20th Level: Our capstone is the final ability of Swashbuckler, Master Duelist, which lets you reroll an attack roll with an advantage if you miss it once per long rest. And your Sneak Attack increases to 9d6

Overview: Rose Wilson is a Swashbuckler Rogue 17/School of Divination Wizard 2/Hexblade Warlock 1. Let us see how good this build is:

Pros: First of all you are incredibly hard to hit or hurt in general, with AC around 18 or 20 and multiple ways to reduce the damage or turn a hit into a miss - Uncanny Dodge, Evasion, Shield, Portent, Lucky. Second, you have a lot of ways to screw with your own dice, making them do what you want through a combination of luck and foresight. There is a reason why Lucky Divination Wizard is seen as one of the most powerful things in the game and you add to this Reliable Talent, Master Duelist, Elegant Maneuver, Friends, Hex and Hexblade Curse. Third, with Hex, Hexblade Curse, Booming Blade and Sneak Attack you can deal huge damage, especially with your increased crit chance. You are also very  Finally, you are incredibly mobile for someone in a half-plate, which will catch many opponents off-guard.

Cons: Your HP is decent but nothing to write home about, few hits will drop you into the danger area of Power Word: Kill easily. Your sword may be enhanced but is not magical so unless DM gives you a magical weapon a lot of enemies will be able to resit your damage or simply be immune to it. A lot of your abilities compete over your use of reaction or bonus action as well, making them somewhat redundant. Finally, your Intelligence and Constitution are not that good and it’s gonna hurt some of your spell rolls, especially concentration. Also, if you abuse your future-seeing powers too much DM will hate you.

Overall, however, you are a very good party member, fitting as both a skill monkey and damage-per-turn and even a small-part controller or defender in a pinch with power to bend dice to your will. Sweep into the battlefield, hit hard, move out and have the opponent have to go through Superboy to hit you back. Just remember that you work better as a part of a team so maybe don’t antagonize party members too much. Except if you’re on a team with Slade.

Your dad sucks.

Alternatives: 

If you don’t like the whole Willow thing and don’t feel like refluffing and fixing it, skip Hexblade level for one more of Rogue, you’ll gain Elusive, ensuring no attack against you is made with an advantage.

If your Ability Scores are so high you can get an extra feat, consider either Defensive Duelist, which lets you use your reaction to add your Proficiency bonus to your AC when a creature hits you with a melee attack. Or, if you play Half-Elf Rose, Elven Accuracy for +1 to either Dexterity, Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma and an ability to roll an additional dice when you make an attack roll with advantage using any of these 4 Abilities.

So you want to play the Batfam in D&D?

Here’s some ideas for you—this party is unbalanced as heck, entirely human, and kind of a mess. I did this for Disney Princesses on another blog and am probably going to do more for other superhero teams at some point.

Bruce Wayne / Batman

Look, I feel like this man would be multiclassing as heck because he is That Extra. Depending on optimization and whether certain things matter more in your version of the bat, you might lean more heavily or entirely on one class more than another, but my main ideas for Bruce would be:

Barbarian—Path of the Totem Warrior. Use stats for Eagle but call it the Bat, or homebrew a Bat Totem.

Fighter—Champion, because Bruce hones his skills so heavily

Paladin—Now, I don’t see him as a heavy magic user, but Oath of Vengeance is pretty much his schtick, and he could use Gotham personified as a deity/a bat god or a similar being as his divine patron.

Rogue—Inquisitive, because he’s the World’s Greatest Detective guys.

Now, his background could be Noble, Folk Hero, or Haunted One, depending on what you choose to focus on backstory wise, but whatever you do for his background keep in mind that he is Rich as Hell so his wealth is going to factor in to how much he starts off with.

Alfred Pennyworth

The man takes really good care of the batfam, and though his background was British Military or spying if I recall, I would leave his class as Cleric—probably in the Life Domain, as he’s always the family’s rock and if they don’t make it to Leslie Thompkins’ clinic you can bet he’s the one helping them stitch each other up

Commissioner Gordon

Look, I know he’s not a vigilante, but he’s important to the Batfam and is on their side in the ways that matter. As a cop, I’d have him as a Paladin (Order of the Crown) or a fighter of some kind (maybe Battle Master?)

Dick Grayson / Nightwing

Dick would be—wait for it—a bard.  He grew up in a circus, remember?  But he would be College of Valor, imo, because he inspires the teams he leads and is a fierce fighter. If you want to multiclass him, I’d add Monk (Way of the Open Hand) as is useful.  As for background, I would lean into him as a Folk Hero, because Nightwing is respected among many circles, and back when he was Robin he was Boy Wonder after all.  

Barbara Gordon / Oracle

*slams fist on desk* we need some spellcasters and you cannot tell me that Barbara Gordon would not make a good Divination wizard. Let’s face it, it matches the name perfectly.

Jason Todd / Red Hood

Well, if you ever cast Detect Undead in the room, Jason’s going to ping off on that, so yeah.  As for his class, Jason’s a fighter—definitely has the Firearms Specialist feat—though I can’t decide whether I would place him as a Brute (these new subclasses are interesting!) or an Eldritch Knight ultimately. Both fit into his undead black sheep of the family thing.  

Cassandra Cain / Orphan

Okay so I would place Cass as some kind of Rogue—her stealth is known to be amazing, so perhaps a Scout, with maybe enough levels under the Fighter category to make her a Samurai, because of her assassin background.

Tim Drake / Red Robin

TIM why are you so d i f f i c u l t okay so I would make him a Battle Master fighter because of those other tool proficiencies and his intelligence would be higher than his wisdom because the boy is smart, but not necessarily able to transfer that knowledge to good decisions.

Stephanie Brown / Batgirl

Stephanie would definitely have a higher wisdom than intelligence for the opposite reasons of Tim—she means well, wants to make correct decisions, but doesn’t always know enough to do so.  I would place her as a rogue Scout because I’m reminded of her Spoiler days where she always had the intel on her dad to share, and she builds on that with the fam to maybe learn some wizardry from Barbara or fighting from Cass.  

Duke Thomas / The Signal

One that I know little about, but I’m going to go ahead and call him an Oath of Devotion paladin with some potential aasimar traits, depending on how you handle his abilities.

Damian Wayne / Robin

Rogue Assassin to start, adding some levels of either monk or fighter based on his inspiration from Dick or Bruce.  Since he was Dick’s Robin, I’m inclined to actually give him some Monk levels, as he would not be impressed by the whole bard thing, but his fighting? Heck yeah.

Kate Kane / Batwoman

I believe she’d be a paladin, Oath of the Crown to start with, as she was military if I’m remembering her backstory correctly, but then later would turn to Oath of Vengeance as she intermingles with the family.

Selina Kyle / Catwoman

Um. Rogue thief.  With a criminal background and maxed out charisma. She’s probably the easiest to pick out for anyone—I hardly have to explain myself for her like I do others.

Harper Row / Bluebird

Probably a ranger; if I recall she is a sniper?  Gloom Stalker conclave, because Gotham and because she’s probably going to need the disguise spells to hide that very recognizable hair and keep her brother safe and out of the line of fire.

Jean-Paul Valley / Azrael

Okay, I know the least about Jean-Paul of the people on this list, but I’d actually leave him as a Scourge Aasimar (the angel name was too good to pass up) Oathbreaker Paladin.  It seems to fit him to some degree, and while I know little about him I understand that he breaks off from the family and goes crazy, so Oathbreaker works for me here.

Helena Bertinelli / Huntress

Ranger—and I bet you’ll never guess what conclave?  No? Hunter Conclave.  Yeah, real original. She’d probably take Horde Breaker and Uncanny Dodge when she levels to them.  Definitely a crossbow wielder, or hand crossbow depending on what your personal game allows.  

Terry McGinnis / Batman

Terry is new-ish to the game, so I would have him be less extra than Bruce.  Probably a Champion fighter, with maybe some Artificer levels in there because Neo Gotham translates into battle magic tech for me—likely as an Artillerist.  His brother, Matt, as Robin, would probably just have the same classes.

I can’t even describe how bad this is, you really need the sound. that’s where the true lack of quality shines through. siri’s depressed sister is talking about pre-vampire dracula’s epic feats in battle to more weird sepia dioramas and the dying soldiers sound like they hired muppets to voice them

oh no dracula’s advisors, who all wear black hooded robes and scowl ominously, have betrayed him and killed his wife, how unexpected

someone drew these, looked at them, and thought “yeah that’s good enough to go in the final movie”

the characters are speaking both english and what I assume is... romanian or something? transylvanian? it’s not spanish or welsh I can tell you that much. anyway there are no subtitles and also no rhyme or reason to which they’re speaking at any given time so I hope I’m not missing anything important. probably not.

so like... they killed his wife, yes. and he went on a murderfest in what appears to be a church in revenge, makes sense. now a dude who... I think maybe he’s supposed to be a priest or something? but he wasn’t speaking english so I can’t be sure, then a voice over said “I have killed for god, the hand that fought for him will now be turned against him” but I’m unclear on who was speaking. this movie is an absolute clusterfuck and we aren’t even five minutes in yet. this is still the prologue.

now zombie alexa claims dracula was cursed with immortality “in punishment for his defiance” but I’m still not sure... what defiance. he killed the dudes who murdered his wife and that’s somehow not okay despite his apparent status as a war hero, a designation that implies a LOT of killing has already happened?

fucking finally, the title screen. usually a prologue clarifies what a movie is about but I went in thinking I knew and now have absolutely no idea what I’m watching.

a carriage drawn by friesians is rolling through a misty forest with wolf howling sound bites playing at random in the background to vaguely urgent music, now this is what I’m here to see.

okay the prisoners are being taken to dracula’s castle and I’m sorry for such an image-heavy post but I NEED you to understand the community theater level of set design/quality we’re dealing with here

so far the only thing esme has done is fall off her horse and be knocked unconscious, and now a Roving Band of Misogynists has appeared to harass Bootleg Xena 3.0 in the most generic way possible (the words “what ‘ave we got ‘ere” accompanied by a chorus of malicious cackling and some whistles have been spoken)

oooh no the ringleader of the Roving Misogynists has been given a name, and it’s ~Lucien~. I have a horrible feeling that I’m about to bear witness to the worst romantic subplot in the history of cinema.

oh for... I thought at least bootleg xena 3.0 would be a Strong Female Character and fight them off, but she just rapped lucien on the head with her sword and then they stole her very important box and left as obnoxiously as they came

oh never mind that guy from before wasn’t a priest, he is remfield, chancellor of this kingdom, which means the last scene he was in makes even less sense

now remfield is... literally giving the prisoners a tour of the castle and going on the “oh you’re our guests and many pleasures and adventures await you” speech and somehow the prisoners are accepting this despite the fact that they were just carted in on a barred wagon in shackles and got sniffed by a bad alucard cosplayer. they have a fucking harpist.

she’s just been twirling around in the background of this entire scene for no discernible reason no matter what rooms they go into

I’m still waiting on whether this masterful display of cinematic calvinball has any cohesive story to it.

ah joy and we’re back to The Non-Adventures of Xena 3.0, Esme, and the Roving Misogynists

as an aside, I’m not calling her that just to be dumb, I’m calling her that because they still haven’t given her a name even though her sidekick got one in the first five minutes

they’ve opened the box and revealed... the light bringer, which is a wooden staff. because it is not shiny gold, the roving misogynists regard it with confounded disgrunglement and scoff at xena 3.0′s insistence that it can defeat dracula

these guys sound like what an eleven year old thinks gangs of ne’er-do-wells sound like. like cartoon weasels, if the weasels were also mediocre pirates who have heard of women, conceptually, but never seen one. like goblins in a pre-written D&D campaign run by a slightly overwhelmed first time DM.

HUR DUR WALKING STICK NOT TREASURE, WOMAN DUMB

it’s what cain used to slay abel, apparently. given that zombie alexa mentioned that dracula is the descendent of abel, this leaves us with the terrifying implication that someone did put at least some vestige of effort into writing this movie.

it just goes on like that in every scene they happen to be physically adjacent to, they never shut up but also never actually contribute or say anything meaningful

ah, the mysterious leonardo has appeared. I think he was the one they were trying to take the light bringer to so that’s handy

“what is happening here? what is this flirtation?? is this the people to share your sacred secrets with???” - leonardo, the only remotely rational person in the entire movie

and on that note, I think I’ll end here, because there ended up being a LOT more to unpack in this movie than I expected, it’s after midnight, and I’m tired.

tomorrow, we follow lucien as he presumably goes to save some lady he wildly disrespected and then made out with one time whose name may or may not actually be xena, and hopefully figure out what the hell is even going on with dracula, remfield, and their castle full of artfully strewn half naked harpist lesbians and dancing ceiling shadows. because right now I really don’t have time to unpack all that, and I have a feeling it will only get worse.

Podcast 6: Feeling Good During Fall and Winter

[“Spoiler Alert Podcast” theme song plays. There are two feminine voices in the background. The conversation fades, there are three taps on the mic.] [Stephanie:] “Hello Gotham High School and welcome to Spoiler Alert! I’m your host Stephanie Brown, and today, unfortunately, I won’t be joined by my usual co-host Dick Grayson, he’s actually too busy. Buuuut I am joined by the one and only CASSANDRA CAIN! Say hi, Cass”

[Cassandra:] “Hello, Cass.”

[Stephanie:] “Funny. So as you probably know, there’s a veeeery big game coming and our boys are training a lot these days. Thankfully I’m able to use a few minutes here to present you our podcast, but it’s quite wild for the cheerleaders too, as you may assume.”

[Cassandra:] “They’re going to Central City. Playing against the Cougars, next week. Saturday.”

[Stephanie:] “Right. That means for today, it’s a girls only show. I mean, for the hosts. Anyone can benefit the advice in this one, don’t get me wrong.”

[Cassandra:] “Everyone can feel down and suffer from lack of light and warmth in Fall and Winter. Meaning you are welcome to stay, no matter your identity.”

[Stephanie:] “Exactly. As you can suspect it, today’s topic is about Self Love and how to feel better during these dark times. Even if summer’s over, along with its refreshing watermelons, autumn’s got its own little perks. [Cassandra:] “Like Pumpkin Spice Latte.”

[Stephanie:] “Yep. Looking at you, Jason.”

[Cassandra:] “Sound of the rain? When the leaves go crack under our boots? Boots, actually.”

[Stephanie:] “Mmm.. the leaves yes. Boots shopping?”

[Cassandra:] “Just wearing boots, too. Spending time with friends. In the mall? It’s nice and warm.”

[Stephanie:] “Just staying inside where it’s cozy actually.”

[Cassandra:] “With a nice cup of tea?”

[Stephanie:] “Yes, and cocoa if tea isn’t what you like. There’s plenty of good things in Fall and Winter. Not to mention the snow and the unspeakable joy of throwing snowballs straight into people’s faces. But what to do when you’re feeling low nonetheless? Let’s get down to business an-”

[Cassandra:] [In song.] “... To de-feat the Cou-gars?”

[Stephanie:] [Chuckling] “You had to quote Disney, huh? But no, to get into the heart of the matter!”

[Cassandra:] [Sounds like she’s smiling.] “Today we picked four main things that won’t cost too much. Most of us are students and can be hard to follow advice when it’s too expensive.”

[Stephanie:] “Yeah, not everyone is a Wayne, sadly. But the first point may or may not involve getting some supplies, but usually you can manage without buying anything.”

[Cassandra:] “Yes! Art therapy is very popular. Creating is good for our mood. Grab a pen, some pencils, colors, yarn, whatever you have or want, and do something creative. Paint, draw, doodle, just have fun. It doesn’t have to be nice or good looking, you just have to have fun!”

[Stephanie:] “Actually, pretty sure that cooking can be included in that point. Except if your name is Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Damian Wayne or Tim Drake, in which case it’s just living dangerously.”

[Cassandra:] “Calling them out, Steph? They’ll get revenge. You and I know that.”

[Stephanie:] “They can bring it on, this is a free podcast! FREEDOM OF SPEECH!”

[Cassandra:] [Really laughing this time] “Heheh. That only protects your speech, not from the boys.”

[Stephanie:] “I’ll face the problem when I get to it.”

[Cassandra:] [Snorts] “But yes, cooking, especially since it’ll be good for you to eat a balanced meal.”

[Stephanie:] “Don’t just throw a snack in the microwave, or cereals in a bowl. Don’t be a Dick! Make something. Start small. Maybe a smoothie or something, if you’re uncomfortable with the stove and oven. But make it yourself. It’s less expensive, usually healthier, and way better in the long run.”

[Cassandra:] “And fulfilling!”

[Stephanie:] “And once you master the basics you can begin to improvise. Add stuff, cook with new ingredients,... Make heart-shaped waffles…” [happy sighs] “I just want to wake up some day to a tray of heart waffles covered in chocolate, maybe a rose next to the plate. Romance tip, get your significant other heart waffles.”

[Cassandra:] [With a very neutral tone] “Someday, maybe, who knows?”

[Stephanie:] “Ah, but I got distracted, my bad, my bad. Where were we….” [Shuffling paper noise] “Ah right, here. Planting something.”

[Cassandra:] “Taking care of a plant is very relaxing. Don’t know why? It helps to have a tiny bit of nature inside. Especially in Gotham. And you can grow herbs to cook. Bonus points.”

[Stephanie:] “Ok I’ll be honest, I’m terrible with plants, BUT I got a workaround.”

[Cassandra:] “You do?”

[Stephanie:] “Fake flowers. Expensive ones though, not the cheap plastic ones. I got a few ones, mostly made out of fabric, and I switch between the different sets to maintain the illusion it’s fresh flowers. If you don’t look too closely, it’s alright.”

[Cassandra:] “So the parsley I got you…?”

[Stephanie:] “The one you named Peanut? Dead, sorry. So so sorry, I didn’t want to tell you!”

[Cassandra:] “Next time I’ll just get you a scarf like everyone else.”

[Stephanie:] “PLEASE NO!!” [Silence] “I mean… I already got 12 scarves thanks to Dick and Tim and Babs and other friends, I don’t even wear a scarf most of the time.”

[Cassandra:] “Fine. Mittens it’ll be then. Which leads us to the next point, go outside. Get fresh air.”

[Stephanie:] “Get ready to go outside, too. Don’t just make two steps outside with dumb sweatpants and a lazy bun, get ready! Always get out of the house like you’d like a potential date to see you for the first time. Not all out, but pretty enough and comfortable. Put on some makeup too. Nothing much, but if you’re feeling low, there’s nothing compared to putting on some lipstick to see it bring the life back to your face.”

[Cassandra:] “I thought that was the blush powder’s job.”

[Stephanie:] “Or the blush powder, yeah. Any of those. Also for our male listeners, never underestimate the power of a good concealer. Don’t be shy and get some. It’ll cover for all your long nights spent studying. Or anything else, really.”

[Cassandra:] “I thought the makeup topic was for another week?”

[Stephanie:] “It’s never too early for concealer, Cass. Just make sure you got the right tone. Erm… Oh, right. If you don’t know what to put as clothes to get out, stick to the basics.”

[Cassandra:] “Black?? But we said..”

[Stephanie:] “No no, I know what we said, get some colors. Sooooooo… WEAR THE RED AND GOLD!!! GO BATS GO!!”

[Cassandra:] “But at this time of the year be prepared to be mistaken with a Gryffindor student.”

[Stephanie:] “What’s wrong with that?”

[Cassandra:] “Some of us prefer the other houses. Not me, obviously, but you maybe. Or the boys. Especially Damian. He really enjoys being sorted in Slytherin.”

[Stephanie:] “Ok I’ll give you that. But you got to admit that at least it’s easy to get decent clothes, you just have to gather your Gotham High School merch- Oh god, wait.”

[Cassandra:] “What?”

[Stephanie:] “We’re talking about Harry Potter and Tim isn’t ev-”

[A phone dings. There’s some noise as Steph fishes for it]

[Stephanie:] "Oh god, it's Tim." [Cassandra:] "What did he say?" [Stephanie:] "'Tell them about my Dumbledore theory.' No, I'm not gonna. Goodbye Timothy."

[Sound of her phone being placed down.] [Cassandra:]"But you know he'll try to-" [A phone dings] "Text me." [Stephanie:] "Don't do what he says!" [Cassandra:] "He's threatening. He'll come here to crash your podcast."

[Stephanie:] “Please no. Tim if you hear us, don’t. Seriously don’t.”

[Cassandra:] “He’s probably already practically here or something, Stephanie.”

[Stephanie:] “Ok let’s finish this before he comes then. The last thing you probably heard it a thousand of times, but just turn off your phone and computer, and take a bit of time to just breathe.”

[Cassandra:] “Meditation. It’s called meditation. It helps lower the heart rate, and to put things in perspective. Makes people happier too.” [Stephanie:] “It doesn’t have to be hours long, just one or two minutes are already enough. We’ll… Talk about it in depth in another podc-

🌼 ― a happy memory. // feat. november cain.

go ask alice, i think she’ll know is being cooed sweetly in the background through the muffled filter of the loud speakers, the upbeat tone and its contrast with the bittersweet words make them feel a little like they’re on fire, like there’s a star burning somewhere at the core of their chest. november isn’t used to feeling so much. it’s a downside to the uppers. instead of feeling like they’ve been brought down to their knees by chains drawing them to the floor, they’re floating too far above the ground and they’re feeling too much to wrap their head around. they gives up trying, settling for narrowing their focus on the drink held between their delicate fingers and the way the music seems to be wrapping its arms around them as they sway in the dimly lit dance floor area of the bar they’re in. brighton’s full of these underground haunts. they loves them, feel more invisible here in a room full of faerie lights and pretty boys and girls with mouths full of pretty lies than they do anywhere else. it’s the closest they’ve ever known to feeling happy.

over the course of the next song, they remains in their corner of the room, swaying to the music and finishing off one drink after the next. they realise they’re drunk enough to not need more, but november’s never been able to protect themselves from extremes. extreme quiet, extreme sadness, extreme self-destruction. they seem to be on their third setting tonight, pure hedonism driving their actions. this happy feeling, or perhaps the relative of happiness is so addictive that they’re drunk on it, and they want more of it. they have never felt more alive than in that moment, with glitter neatly pressed around their eyes, with fire and gasoline in their veins, and the beat of a song that thrums across each knob of their spine.

This is very long so it’s all under a cut, there are several original fiction stories and a couple fanfiction. I’m trying to decide what to write next so I finally made decent descriptions instead of trying to verbally explain them to people. I might be able to write but I can’t talk in a coherent, linear, concise way to save my life.

Opinions on what to work on next are greatly appreciated. 

Original Fiction

     AER 9833(AER): A sort of Dystopian Future. A.E.R. were created as tools. Toys for the rich and powerful. AER are beautiful, elegant, and capable of tapping in to the background radiation of the universe to preform amazing feats. After an AER goes rouge they are determined to be sentient and therefore responsible for their own actions. Suddenly no one feels safe having these Artificially Intelligent beings around and so they are placed in The City, where a special device suppresses their power. Some time later the world is beset by an unknown force that destroys most life leaving the remnants to flounder. Humans begin to seek shelter in The City, which survived the Apocalypse. Things get complected with AER and humans living side by side. One AER breaks the field that suppresses their power and starts a chain of events that lead to a startling truth: we are not alone. This story has a mad max/cloud atlas thing going on. A hyper futuristic society falls to an outside attack that destroys most of the world, leaving wastelands interspersed with pockets where nature has reclaimed the last vestiges of civilization. A few scattered cities survive and humans struggle for security. In this bleak landscape a single AER possesses the power to save the world from a horrific fate, but the cost might be more than they can pay.

     Beyond the Stars(BTS): Sci-fi/Fantasy epic. In a distant future humans and Martic share a world cut off from both civilizations. What began as a short lived and devastating war between the two has settled into a strange and unbalanced power dynamic. The Martic king rules with a pleasant public facade that hides a dark and devious plot. Soon he will have the power to contact his home world and take the humans as slaves into their great empire. But not everyone is fooled, the Maquiya, a group of guerrilla resistance fighters, know the truth. The story follows the members of this resistance movement and other key players as the fight to save this small pocket of humanity from a terrible fate draws to a startling close. Prophetic dreams, confusing nightmares, double agents, and a century old secret come to light. And there is more than the fate of this world in the balance.

     Descendant Effect(DE): Magical Realism. Davin Khaye and his husband Eric Douglas just adopted a baby girl with a mysterious past. They thought they were leaving that whole occult investigation thing behind when they settled on Staten Island but when and old flame develops a magical illness Davin and Eric find themselves, and their new friends, pulled into a fight for the fate of the world.           Descendant Effect Book One: Sins of the Father, Complete (Looking for Beta and Sensitivity Readers and Editors) Davin, a magical historical fiction writer and former occult investigator,  gets a call from his first boyfriend’s sister saying that Gary is deathly ill. When Davin visits out of sympathy for Sarah he discovers that not all is what it seems. A virulent Wrong Magic has infected Gary and it’s contagious. Davin gathers his Chemist husband, the newly minted Descendant, Kaila, and the not JUST a vampire Jeb, along with Davin’s own personal guardian demon to unravel the mystery. Things get ever more complicated with mysterious Hunter Rex, Angels, demons, and Rex’s erstwhile sorcerer adviser Ambrose getting involved. By the end there are more questions than answers and long road to travel before Davin can finally let go of his terrible past.

     Dirty Deeds(DD): Magical Realism. Lady Luck gifted Clay with Power, now he’s fallen out of favor. Can a Demon with a moral compass guide him back into the limelight or will Clay be forced to watch as tragedy dogs his every step. When a goddess tells you to use your probability power for the good of mankind, taking a trip to Vegas is probably the last thing you should do. Clay learns that the hard way when he ignores his duties and a favorite of the Lady dies in a tragic accident. Lady Luck is no mans fool and she curses Clay to a terrible fate. With his powers severely effected he must still try to help, try being the operative word. After Clay is connected to a series of terrible deaths the FBI steps in. The lead detective is more than she seems and when she figures out clay’s secret she has to make a choice, her career or the man she’s starting to fall in love with. Considering her kind aren’t supposed to be able to fall in love it’s not that hard a choice. But Clay doesn’t seem to feel the same, until he does, and the curse is completed, leaving Clay in a sorry state. Kaezon won’t give up easily though and fights to make sure Clay comes back, but Clay isn’t so sure that’s a good idea. (some inspiration for this came from American Gods by Neil Gaiman)

     Nowhere Places(NP): Sci-fi/ Fantasy, Magical Realism. The history of Earth is secretly intertwined with an alien war thousands of years in the making, and so is it’s fate. To save his people the King of the Fay brought them to earth 15,000 years ago, but something went wrong. From a base on the moon the king directs a war in The Nowhere Places, overlaps in this dimension and another barren dimension. The Fay and the Phaedron have been at war for fifteen centuries and the people have had enough. Two of the Fay princes hatch separate rebellions while a Phaedron warrior, having crashed his vessel near a human school, discovers that humans aren’t the stupid cattle he’d always been told they were. Things take a dramatic turn when an archaeologist finds a massive structure several hundred feet below the exactly center of the Sahara desert and learns that this war, which threatens to take the earth out any time now, was never meant to happen because the Fay king… has been in suspended animation in the Cityship for 15 thousand years. This is one of the least fleshed out stories I currently have. Several scenes popped in my head that inspired the story and they almost all look like anime/mange scenes, the one where the archaeologist discovers the king reminds me of the scene where Integra discovers Alucard in Van Hellsing for instance.

     Prince of Darkness(PoD): Superhero, Magical Realism. Jamie was five when she first met the mysterious white haired boy. He didn’t have a name but Jamie could tell he was smart and creative so she called him Donny after her favorite ninja turtle. When she’s 32  her best friend Donny and his ‘boys’ Raziel and Gadreel are back after a ten year absence. Things are going great for the up and coming journalist and then she hits the big time, the very first real life superhero! Henry, her detective little brother, isn’t so thrilled and Donny and the boys seem strangely reluctant to talk about The Prince of Darkness. Soon things start getting even stranger when three people with white hair begin to try to capture The Prince. Tensions run high and weird people keep popping up at Donny’s lounge club. As Jamie searches for answers Donny searches for a connection. Lost and isolated from his ‘true’ family he begins to forge a new one through his Club, The Nine Circles. But the sort of people that hang out in Hell bring their own kinds of trouble. As Donny’s checkered past starts to come to light, the mysterious man finds that his heart wants more than it can have. Starting a relationship with his sister’s best friend was never Henry’s plan, especially since he knows they both love each other, but when Jamie rejects Donny’s advances what’s a guy supposed to do? Comforting his friend leads to something more but the more that Henry gets to know Donny the more concerned his is that he’s sleeping with the ‘enemy.’             PoD: Raising Cain: The story of Cain. Yes, that Cain. After an accident leads to a terrible curse Cain walks the earth searching for meaning. When he learns of ‘Lucifer’s’ fall and those that walk the earth destroying in his name, Cain finds his purpose, because he knows something is wrong. Hêlêl was the kindest of all angels and he would never have turned on the others. But the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and Cain finds that much of the time his attempts to help only cause more problems. After thousands of years traveling the world Cain encounters a spirited young man who calls him Red and falls in love, then one day, he vanishes. It’s the beginning of the end for Cain’s optimism and he spirals into a place so dark he thinks even his long lost friend would forsake him, but he can’t manage to care. Then Cyd and Nancy come along and drag the grouchy old man out of the depths of his despair. And just in time to find that maybe some friends aren’t as lost as previously thought.          PoD: Cyd's Story. Cyd grew up in the sixties. His little hometown was the picture of middle America. On the outside at least. In truth the town is made up of Hunter’s and their families. People who have dedicated their lives to taking out every last Tecum on earth. Unfortunately for Cyd, his mother had tried to get out of the lifestyle and ended up returning home a single mother. Most of the town whispered that she had fallen in with a ‘bad crowd’ and believed Cyd was a Tecum half breed. Only respect for his mother’s family kept them from doing anything, until it didn’t anymore. After ‘The Incident’ Cyd withdrew ever further from those around him and when his mother died when he was 17 he fled the town and never looked back, until Red and Nancy insist on following a Tecum on the run from Red’s brand of justice straight back to the town.                                       PoD: Saints and Sinners: The story of Casper and friends. Casper has never been one to run from his problems so when his team goes missing on a mission he doesn’t hesitate to comply with their captor’s demand. Of course it helps that he knows the guy. Really really well. After liberating his friends from his long time antagonist Ray, Cas find that, this time, he can’t seem to get rid of the man. That’s OK though, because he’s ready to mend the rift between them. Shadow isn’t happy about sharing his closest friend but when a supernatural threat looms they are happy to have an angel on their side. (this is like leverage if it was set in a world were the supernatural exists)                                                       PoD: Charlemagne Song: The story of Charlemagne. When she was in high school, Elle went by Elliot, and had a best friend named Jessica. Back then Elle was head over heels for the tiny blond girl but that was years ago. After a chance encounter with the famous musician Charlemagne Song leaves Elle single and depressed she discoverers that Jess might still be her best friend even though they haven’t talked in years. Suddenly Elle finds herself in a world of pure imagination as she navigates life with one of the most famous musicians of the day, who just happens to be half angel.                                                               PoD: R.E.D.: Story about a band, few details but some characters and lots of song titles and album titles, two of the band members are part of Donny’s ‘family’

     Sad Story(SS): Lucifer’s punishment wasn’t just banishment and when Michael finds out, all Hell breaks loose. Michael wants to let his brother live out his last days on earth instead of locked in a dark cage so he kidnaps him and with lawyer-angel Raziel and his twin brother Gadreel, find a place to hide the erstwhile devil. But Michael’s absence from heaven does not go unnoticed and while the other angels search for him strange murders have been happening in the city. The few witnesses give a description that strangely matches Michael. Can he prove he didn’t do it, or will he be parted from Lucifer before the Brightest of god’s angels fades away completely. (some cross over potential, very sad but with a happy ending cause I like that)

     Sonnets(Son): Inspired by ‘The Good Place.’ Lucifer misses heaven so he tries to recreate it, but to recreate perfection you have to recreate imperfection. (minimal work, the newest of things that have popped into my head)

     Twilight on the Moon(TotM): A Space Epic. Originally conceived of as a graphic novel, this story follows the exploits of the first human intergalactic journey. Humans reach a point in their development where they attract attention from the Galactic Coalition, a group comprised of advanced races from throughout the universe. These races band together to form a peace keeping force and have strict rules and regulations that they expect all members to adhere to, and if a race refuses to follow the guidelines then they are banned from involvement in the larger community of space faring civilizations. Of course, humans, being humans, don’t much care for the Coalition’s ultimatum. A stealth ship arrives on earth and informs the governing bodies that the Coalition isn’t the only group out there and that humanity can find out how other races live by constructing a ship, from plans provided by the individual in the stealth ship, that can travel to all non member systems and pick up ambassadors to have a conference on what humanity should do. The ship they construct is christened La Luna as it was made on a moon base. The captain of the ship is a short delicate looking man by the name of Rane Laforge. He hand picks a complement of characters for the mission that include his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Sandra Fisk as his CMO, Lt. Cmdr. Lars Tavic, Security Chief Anton Talon, Specialist Translator Rendell Hartford, and many others. They pick up several ambassadors including the accidentally acquired Ares LacTon of the La Mer Ray, who falls in love with Lars. It quickly becomes clear that the mission is going to be stranger than expected when we discover that very few of the people on board are actually human! (a sort of comedy of errors in space with the occasional serious moment, the world this is set in is my most elaborate and most complete but the story itself has no coherence yet. There is significant possibility that it will cross over with BTS as two-three of the characters from that likely served aboard La Luna at some point.)

     Unnamed Prince and Regent Story(PR): Fantasy. A princess gets kidnapped but it’s not what you think! She escapes her captors and flees on foot. She stumbles across a caravan and is taken under the wing of their guard who helps her disguise herself as a man. On the trip back to her home she realizes that she’s never been happier and that she is actually a he and he has fallen in love with the guard who seems to feel the same. After getting back to his home however, his love mysteriously vanishes. The now Prince throws the kingdom into chaos and becomes despondent. Spiraling into a drunken haze until a visiting royal entourage brings an unexpected guest and a wild revelation.(another where I have a fairly thought out world but only a sketch of the plot)

     Sherlock Fan Fiction(Sher): A Ghost From the Past. Someone from Sherlock's past shows up and John finds out how little he truly knows of his best friend. Basically Sherlock’s best friend from childhood shows up and it turns out that she was more than a friend and part of the reason Mycroft and Sherlock don’t get along is that Mycroft had asked her to marry him and she had said yes and Sherlock believed(for actual reasons) that Mycroft purposely stole her from him. That’s only the first big revaluation about Sherlock.

     Strange Sounds Supernatural Fan Fiction(SSFF): A Ghost From the Future. The boys are transported to the future where the supernatural is no longer hidden and some major event created a post apocalyptic fallout, but this time it was humans who did it. The result is that massive creatures are roaming the planet destroying any pockets of civilization they can find. Thanks to a few not so dead and reformed archangels there is a part of the US that’s a ‘safe’ zone. When Past Sam and Dean show up around the time that safe zone begins to come under attack both versions of the boys and the future archangels join forces with Occultist John Constantine, Alien Technology Specialist Mickey Smith and his wife Dr. Martha Smith, and the secret organization known as Torchwood as they travel the world looking for clues to put this new threat to rest at last. Features several original characters and many crossover characters from similar worlds with cameo appearances by characters like Crowley and Aziraphale from Good Omens. (Only about Half plotted but the most written of any FanFiction I have so far.)

     Supernatural/Batman Beyond Fusion(SPN/BB): This plot bunny may not make it, basically just replacing the cast of Batman Beyond with the cast of Supernatural but tweaking the plot for supernatural stuff.

     Ultimate CrossOver Fic(C/O): This fic started out in my head with a few comic panels showing Jack Harness falling comet style out of the sky over the impala. The boys investigate and find a very naked Jack in the crater. He of course starts flirting. At the same time that that is happening, the TARDIS bumps into the hull of the USS Enterprise, manifests on a landing deck, and then they both get sucked into some kind of time distortion. Meanwhile, Gabriel, trapped in a spell that Metatron set up to siphon his power to keep the wards on heaven set, uses the last of his strength to send a dream message to Sam. This story would include Supernatural, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, Harry Potter, Good Omens, Marvel, Pushing Daises, and basically anything else I can find a way to add and every conceivable mlm ship. (I can’t write sex that involves women because of dysphoria but feel free to believe those ships happen too)

I’ve Got You In MySights! – FFXV Characters x S/O and The Silly Case of the Glasses

Cor Leonis –

Cor’s usually aman with a plan, with a set idea on where he wants to take you out, a schedulehe’d like to keep, and a knack for trying to be the best damn romantic he canbe. Mostly to compensate for the fact that he always looks so grumpy. But hey!You weren’t complaining most of the time. If anything, the resting bitch-faceis cute on him.

So he ends uptaking your to a restaurant to celebrate Cor’s return from a long mission outin Duscae, fancier than your usual meet-up spot at the Crow’s Nest, but notanything to where you’d both be breaking your bank on Hunter’s pay. He’s adamantabout what he wants, considering the man never really changes his diet unlesshe has to (or something looks REALLY good), so he’s pretty okay with justordering a steak and some wine with you.

But Cor couldn’thelp but notice over the top of his menu just how befuddled you looked. Sure,it was a new restaurant that you two went to, but he’d figured that it wouldn’tbe that hard to pick something. Yet there you were, eyes narrowed with a lookthat could be interpreted as ‘What the fuck is this?’ or ‘I’m goingto murder everyone.’ Cor always did find it cute whenever you got thoseexpressions on your face. Angry cutie.

“The TrevallyTartare had me making that same look too.”

The joke wouldhave been surprising to hear if you weren’t so focused on the menu. Cor’seyebrow rose as you brought the menu closer to your face, practicallysuffocating yourself within the laminated pages.

“…Hun, canyou even read that?”

You looked upat him with an expression and a head shake that said, ‘Hell no.’ You hadleft your glasses at home because you wanted to look sexy for a romantic dinnerout. And those glasses you had didn’t match your outfit. He shook his head, buta soft smile crossed over his face as he adjusted his seat and sat closer toyou, guiding you through the menu and giving what he thought you would like toeat on it.

“What’s thisone though?” You pointed at something on the menu. “It looks like it says‘Penis Ass Steak.’”

Cor had to try hard not to laugh and cause even more of a sceneas him moving around, though it did little to change. You always were able toprovoke a chuckle of amusement from him – a feat only a rare few could do. “No,that’s the Phoenix Bass Steak.”

“If anything, this menu’s a pain in my bass.”

The two of youbegan to laugh together before you leaned over on Cor’s shoulder and he wrappedhis arm around your waist. Nothing to see there. Just two people laughing aboutfish puns and Penis Ass Steaks. The waiter seemed to be concerned to hear theruckus you made when you and Cor continued to look through the menu, finallydeciding to approach you two and ask if there was anything he could do to makeit better for you two.

Cor simplystared at the waiter with a deadpan expression. “My date wants the Penis AssSteak, please.”

You ended uplosing your composure, laughing so hard to where the offender waiter consultedthe manager about the behavior of you two. A silly moment, but Cor was alrightwhen the manager had asked you two to leave. Instead, he simply escorted youout, hand in hand, before he looks down at you and raised an eyebrow.

“Want to getsome Flesh Toes and Coffee from the Crow’s Nest instead?”

You nodded asyou leaned against him, sides hurting from all of the laughter the two of youhad done. “Only if there’s extra seared-rope with it~”

Ravus Nox Fleuret –

You’d think fora man with no-chill and one who is married to his work wouldn’t have time todo, well, pretty much anything except for working or not chilling. But no, hestill manages to have those days off. Surprising to you, but you gladly took upany time that you could with the high commander before he had to go about hisbusy routines once again. He was glad to spend time with you as well, so it allplayed out well.

Especially onthe lazy afternoon where the two of you merely resided on the in the studytogether, a book in your hands, Ravus’s journal out on his desk for him towrite in, and the softest bit of music playing in the background to lull thesilence between the two of you as you went about your introverted hobbies. Aroutine habit of the two of you, but you never really needed much from Ravus toknow that he really loves you and enjoys his time with you.

He likes toleave you be as well, knowing how engrossed you usually are in your book, buthe’ll sometimes look up to see your expression as you start delving into thedramatic parts of your book (or fanfiction, because he knows what that is nowafter he had used your tablet to search something and found some heated smut onit). To him, your expression whenever you’re so enticed with something is oneof the reasons why he fell in love with you.

But this timearound, he noticed that out of the three-hundred pages you were into on yourbook, you hadn’t turned a page this time around since you came back around toreading it. Did something happen that left you stunned by what you just read?Poor thing. It must have been another tragic character death.

He looked at you over the top of his reading glasses (becauseyes, he uses them himself), and the expression itself read it all. Eyessquinted, lips scrunched, nose wrinkled in thought with a tight grip on thebook as if it were going to fly out of your hands. He recognized this look verywell because he took makes the same one – the same expression when hecan’t read a damn thing without his glasses.

He tried to besubtle about your lack of glasses, making a small remark as he rested his chinon his knuckles to watch you. “I take it something important occurred inyour book?”

You were quietas you looked away, grumbling to yourself a ‘No’ before playing itoff. “Yeah. Uh… The main character just confessed his love to the wrongperson! I don’t like this ship at all!”

“Really now?You last told me you were on page 354, correct?” You gave a small nod, notliking where he was going. “Last I recalled, you are around the part whereCain had just killed the demon Abaddon. A confession would not be appropriateat that part, now would it?”

He noticed youtense, having been foiled in your charade so easily. But a small sigh came fromthe commander before he closed his book and got up to walk to the couch withyou. He pulled the reading glasses from his face before he carefully restedthem on the bridge of your nose. You stared up at him, blinking as your visionbecame a lot more clear with the details up-close to you. Wasn’t he writing inhis journal though? He always needed his reading glasses whenever he wasworking on those kinds of things!

Instead, Ravusgestured for you to scoot over, so he can lay out and guide you into his lapwith his prosthetic hanging off the edge of the couch and his other hand gentlyresting around your waist. “Now you may read what becomes of our hero, solong as you read it aloud to me as well.”

You couldn’thelp but smile and give a small nod as you got comfortable against Ravus andbegan to read the book together.

Nyx Ulric –

Leave it to the hero to always save the day. Ever since you andNyx started dating, it always felt like he was there to bail you out of theworst situations. You usually hated it whenever he had to, consideringthat Nyx was a workaholic as it was. If he wasn’t with you, he was busy doingstuff for the Kingsglaive. If he wasn’t with the Kingsglaive, he was runningsecurity duty or checking on the royal family, and just an overwhelming numberof things that made you wonder just how he managed to find time to himself andto you.

So the day arrived when you decided that you would just meet Nyxover at the captain’s place for the Glaives’ annual Christmas party, since Nyxhad to spend the day running security in the palace as the King held a formalluncheon for the prince and his entourage. It wouldn’t be that bad of a walkanyways. Just go down to the subway station, take a train to Park Center andthen head to the eastside of Insomnia. It was a fancy-ass building that youcouldn’t miss.

So Nyx eagerly waited for you outside of Captain Drautos’sapartment, having expected you to arrive by now. Huh… Weird. He was usually theone running late to things. He thought that maybe you were just spending extratime to look nice for the party since it was the first of the Glaives’ eventsthat you really got to go to. So he waited. And waited. And fifteen minutespassed as he waited outside in the cold with a concerned frown on his face.

His hand was reaching into his pocket for his phone to call youbefore it began to vibrate and ring. Almost instantly, he snapped the phoneopen and pressed it to his ear. “Hey, babe. Where are you?”

“Uh… Almostthere. I think.”

You thought you had gotten onto the right terminal in thesubway. But the headphones in your ears kept you from hearing that it was Clark Central that you had gotten onto.Not Park Center. And it wasn’t until you got off, stared at the sign for a goodlong moment, and walked out of the subway tunnels to notice that you were inthe shadier part of town that things got weird. You at least knew you were nearwhere Libertus lived, but you couldn’t tell or read what street you were on.That, and you were too scared to ask the group of thug-like men nearby. Youdidn’t want to admit it to Nyx that you were on the opposite end of town, butyou didn’t want him to worry either.

You hesitated before you rubbed the back of your head, squintingat the subway sign. “I, uh… I’ll get there soon. I promise. Just go into theparty without me for now!”

He didn’t really take your hesitation that well, but he trustedyou enough to know that you’d be safe. He let out a sigh and nodded, even if hedidn’t want to agree. “Fine… Be safe, babe, okay?”

You were required to focus now as you navigated the trains onceagain, asking so many people for directions to get to Drautos’s place andhaving to double-track yourself to get there. You were already bad withdirections as it was, so this was a living nightmare before you finally cameupon the apartment where the party was. A sigh of relief came from you as younoticed Nyx standing outside, and you rushed over to him.

“Hey! Sorry about that! Ready to go into the party?”

“Uh… The party ended, like, half an hour ago.”

You looked up at him, eyes widened as he shrugged and gave you asmall nod. You groaned and ran your hand through your hair as you leaned yourhead back. “Oh my god. I’m so sorry…! I got lost, and I-“

“You left your glasses at home, didn’t you?”

“That obvious…?”

“Not really since you always keep saying how you hate carryingthem. This is just like when Crowe invited us to get food before. Or when wewere going to go to Lib’s place. Or when Tredd thought he could get you over tohis place alone. Or when-“

“Okay, I get it. I lose my glasses a lot…” You hung your headand frowned. “Nyx, I’m sorry… I know how much you wanted me to meet your boss,and I just… Gods. I ruined it.”

The Glaive chuckled a bit as he wrapped his arms around yourwaist, holding you close as he placed a small kiss on your forehead. “Nah… Thenight’s still young. I can find a way to save it. Maybe save it with some wineand a game from the Red XIII Box?” He grinned down at you.

You slowly found yourself smiling before you kissed Nyx’s cheek.“Yeah. That sounds like a good plan to save the day, hero.”

Lunafreya NoxFleuret –

It was kind of a surprise to you when you first met yourgirlfriend, Lunafreya, that she was in such another world compared to you. Youcame from a regular old suburban lifestyle, but she came from a freaking palace.Manor as they called it, mostly to be modest, but it still did little to coverthe fact that it really was in a league of its own. You felt out of place thereon the first date the two of you had, sneakers on, hoodie on, and a cardboardbox in your arms as you followed through to the palace to see Lunafreya for thefirst time.

And to think that all you really did during your first date wasshow her some of the things that you liked. One of those said things: comicbooks. She seemed so astonished at the way the story was being told through theactions of the artwork, how each character could be vividly seen instead ofjust imagined. It was a whole new fantasy world to explore, and she was morethan eager to learn how to read these comic books with you.

She even stumbled upon your yaoi manga that you had forgotten totake out of your box before you showed up. She really liked the art, but had tocover her blushing face when it got steamy. Oops. She demanded more afterwards,because it left off at a cliffhanger.

And so, on your first date, the two of you curled up in bedtogether with your stack of comics and manga and just read together, Lunafreyahovering over your shoulder and reading aloud with you as the two of youattempted to fulfill the voices of each character (with the weirdest possibleaccents, just to make it more entertaining).

The fun first date eventually became more apart of how you twowould spend time together, both cuddled together around the manor (since Ravushardly let Lunafreya leave unless she had to), and both reading an array of yaoimanga comics together. But one day, you had quite a rough morning. Yourolled out of bed, broke your glasses by crushing them with the weight of yourmight (which was actually your foot, but you didn’t want to admit it aloud),and you were running late to see Luna again after your dog ran off with thebroken remains of your glasses frame.

You sat there when you arrived in a daze, more rather trying toplay it off that you didn’t need your glasses as Lunafreya sat in your lap withthe book open and eager to begin reading. She had to know if the ‘green jumpsuit man’  was okayafter his fight with ‘depressed ninja child!’ So you read for your handful of characters and sheread for her own. But as you were reading, your eyes had to squint hard as youleaned further over her shoulder to see the blurry mess of Anime Ace font and sketchyimages within the manga.

“And now, it is time for my secret technique! Prepare yourself!”

You awkwardly paused as Lunafreya glanced up at you, a smallsmile on her face and blue eyes looking eager. Dammit. You didn’t want todisappoint her… So you just… Well, sort of improvised as you kept the samevoice of the character you were supposed to be reading. “Yes…! Unleash to meyour power! For-“ You trailed off with a long ‘uuuh’ as you thought. “I wantyou to use your secret technique on me and… My body…?” You hung your head against her shoulder and blushed.

Lunafreya began to stifle her laughter as she covered her smilebeing her fingers. Too much yaoi manga, you thought. Considering the last bookLunafreya had wanted to read was a really cheesy one. But still, Lunafreyaplayed along with it, using her own character voice as well to add more to thescenario. “This technique will be too strong for you! But if I must, I shallunleash it for you, senpai!”

You couldn’t help but laugh with the princess as you pulled hercloser to you and nuzzled your face into her neck. Too cute…! “You sound socute when you say ‘senpai.’”

She smiled in return – patient as always – and kissed your cheek. “And you are alwaysprecious to me, ‘senpai.’”

“Oh no, don’t call me that. You’ll give me ideas.” Though it didhave a nice ring to it, you had to admit…

10 songs I've been listening to recently (tagged by @kemplet )

1. Sanctuary by Utada Hikaru

I fell in love with this song on 26th December 2010, when I played my first kingdom hearts game, 358/2 days and never stopped loving it. This is my favourite song, it reminds me both of sunrise and sunset (because of listening to it before going to school and in the game the characters meet at sunset to eat ice cream). It's so bold, hopeful and pure, much like the themes and characters in the kh franchise.

2. Element of a dream by Lily

A now forgotten anime movie known as wrath of the ninja, played probably the most beautiful ending song I had ever heard in my life. It sounds like something you can dance to at a ball, but as it was recorded in the 80's, of course it's got a guitar rocking out in the background. It sounds triumphant and sad at the same time (which makes sense with the film's ending); it's even more sadder, as the first time in 5 years, I'm finally able to translate it and it's lyrics relate to the film.

3. Twilight by Yuiko Tsubokura (in Japanese) and Annabelle Clifton (in English)

Another anime ending theme song, from the legendary bubblegum crisis, this one comes from one of the most 'forgotten' of the 8 OVA episodes, 'Revenge Road', as it's ending theme song. The episode was fast past, so to hear such a slow, soulful ballad play as the credits start rolling was unexpected, but welcomed. The English and Japanese both sound similar, Yuiko's is more powerful and melachony, but Annabelle's is more softer and hopeful, which is a nice touch.

4. When by CC and Co

This one is a funny story, I found this song by taking a chance with an AMV known as 'Yu Yu Hakusho Goes Funky!' and by god, I loved it. I like funk music and this one just took the cake. CC's vocals are amazing too.

5. Computer love by Zapp and Roger

While browsing youtube I found this, I love the electronic sound and the vocoder voice change of Roger Troutman is mysterious and full of life, which is a feat that is hard to achieve intentionally. The backing vocals by Shirley Murdock are good too and it's a classic. It fits the scene with Caine with his new rims in 'Menace II Society' quite well.

6. I have nothing by Whitney Houston

I love Whitney Houston and this is my favourite song. Naturally, Whitney's voice alone is one of the most beautiful and powerful to ever be heard on this Earth and to be combined with a strong piano accompaniment worked. As it's a major song in 'The Bodyguard', that repeats several times, it had to be memorable and glamourous, but also soft and touching, very much like Rachel (played by her) and Frank's (played by Kevin Costner) love. It melded to become a song about unconditional love and how determined she was to have her man.

7. Weak by SWV

This song I think, articulates quite well what a lot of people are scared of when they fall in love with someone so strongly- becoming weak. However, we can't fight it or control it, it takes over us and we hope it all works out in the end, otherwise the comedown will be very tough and emotional. I love SWV anyway, but they honestly delivered well once again.

8. Will he by Joji

So I've liked the music under Joji for a while and support Joji as an artist because I feel like there's a lot of similarities between us, which makes me admire him quite a bit. He drops this track and I've not been able to stop listening to it, I feel like this is the emotional comedown that weak by SWV was talking about if you fall in love and it ends up hurting you.

9. Last Christmas by George Michael

I dislike Christmas songs in general, but this one is really nice, it doesn't reference Christmas much outside of the chorus and George Michael is awesome, I'm still sad he's gone.

10. The power of love by Frankie goes to Hollywood

I can't honestly believe I've never heard this before, I mean it's now marketed as a Christmas song (maybe I have and it didn't strike me as a good song until now). I honestly prefer it as what its intended to be- a love song, it's unconditional and self-sacrificing, which is beautiful.
