Oh no the movie itself is fine, it's that even posts or tags that have nothing to do with deadpool or wolverine will be tagged as such and since I have the tags blocked, scrolling through the various x-men tags will result in a bunch of hidden posts and it's kind of a nuisance

this is a little random so i hope it isn't too much of a bother...i was wondering if you had any tips for preserving image quality when you post art?

there's not much you can do about image compression on socmed sites... but you can try:

check overall image resolution - i usually post images in the 1000px - 2000x range for any single side

diff btwn jpg (lossy) and png (lossless) file formats - jpgs discard unnecessary data resulting in smaller file sizes than png, but can lose image quality; conversely, pngs retain all data and result in larger file sizes, but support transparency and sharper quality and colors

i heard before that twt/tmblr compress images over 1mb. i don't know if that's actually true though.

save a websize version (72 dpi) - that's just so it's harder to take and print stuff if you don't wish for ur art to be used that way

depending on your drawing program (e.g. photoshop) it might have options for the quality/compression level when you save your image. if this is an option on csp i don't know how to find it yet lol

I’ve read a couple of takes today about Louis’ image and Harry’s image, independently written of each other. And no one, not one person, asked for this lol but here’s my take.

Music in general is suffering, due to the rise of AI and the dominance of social media. Corporate greed also plays a massive role in this as well. Now before you go rolling your eyes lol and muttering “how original, the big bad internet killed creativity” under your breath, let me tell you what I see.

First- AI isn’t the big bad wolf, but it is a gigantic pain in the ass. People use musician’s voices to release things that the artist hasn’t consented to or created. That’s a problem. It disincentivizes and discourages creation, and we need new creation now more than ever.

Second- social media shows how much some people *really* suck. Parasocial relationships and batshit crazy fans have created a world where anyone even remotely famous either has to lean in and engage with fans who know ZERO boundaries, or they have to become even more aloof, until they are virtually unrecognizable. Every action is torn apart by a billion voices and keyboard warriors. I am literally no exception. All of the boys have done this dance of pulling back while trying to keep fans interested and engaged. I can’t imagine the pressure.

Also- corporate greed has sucked the life out of most of this process. Albums are expensive things to make and they can take freaking forever. In today’s world, with our shoddy attention spans- people lose interest in something fast unless it’s the newest shiny thing. Tickets to shows are more expensive than ever. It is COSTLY to be a fan. Which I think makes fans feel entitled. And entitlement leads to a disrespect of boundaries, which feeds into my earlier point about celebs feeling the need to be more aloof.

The long and the short of it is- only you can decide what your line in the sand is. If you can’t stand Louis or Harry (or Niall or Zayn’s) public images, you don’t have to engage with them publicly. You can not purchase merch or concert tickets next tour, you can unfollow them on social media, hell, you can even stop listening to their music for a little while and I promise you, the world will not stop turning if that’s the decision you make.

We used to really push people to support them because we love them and we felt like they needed our support. But now I think… well I think they’re doing fine. And I will support them in the future if I want to! Enthusiastically, even! I’ll be cheering for Louis in SoccerAid and I’ll even likely donate a little, it’s a good cause and I like that he’s doing it. If Harry blows dust off of his iPad and posts about a cause I’d support that too. But I don’t engage with the other nonsense anymore. And I think that’s okay.

What are your thoughts on TCOAAL mods? I tried watching one of Renee and Andrew but... I couldn't finish it due to the characters just not feeling like themselves anymore.

blatant plagiarism if you ask me, and probably would fall under that if nemlei decided to sue for copyright infringement. i have no interest in going near it. it’s taking nemlei’s story and her art and her characters and releasing an entirely different story, a version of the game where ashley’s sprite is replaced by renee’s and andrew wants to fuck his mom. nemlei herself seems a bit irked by it, judging by the piece of optional dialogue she included in the hallway scene:

so, simply put: i find these mods disrespectful because it’s certainly no longer nemlei’s story or nemlei’s characters as she wrote them in her game. and for what? to turn the game into meaningless “yay hot milf x her son” slop that doesn’t make any sense at all for the story?

no, it’s not the same as game mods that are, say, original cc and skins for your original character in dragon age or baldur’s gate. this is a visual novel, an interactive story, it’s the equivalent to dumping a pdf of a book into microsoft word, hitting ctrl+f and replacing “ashley” with “renee” (or your oc’s name, but at least that’s creating original fan content to some degree for your own enjoyment) and then publishing it online.

and no, it’s not comparable to fanfiction either, which is simply borrowing nemlei’s characters for writing purposes and creating original work— generally, in fandom, a way to show appreciation and with no lack of respect towards the original creator’s work.

all that said, i’m not the fbi, i really don’t care what people download onto their computer as long as it wouldn’t put you on a watch list.
