We all (well, most of us, probably) have heard of commandment number four, which says that we should remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. But how is one to do that? Probably taking a nap? Rest from labour? Sleep throughout the day? There will be many saying that it is meant for our rest, but how is one to rest? We see Jesus always working on Sabbaths (Saturdays), on which we would perceive that it is not lawful to do. Does that make Jesus a transgressor? Then that would not go well with the fact that Jesus lived a sinless life, hence dying and bleeding for nothing. But what does this mean? He obviously told us, that God made the Sabbath for man, not man for the Sabbath. We are not subdued to the Sabbath. The Sabbath is not our God, but rather the gift of God. The Israelites were enslaved for centuries in Egypt, growing accustomed to restless labour; but God brought in the commandment of rest, in order to save them from their past. And Jesus Himself, the Son of Man, is Lord of the Sabbath, and according to the Scriptures, He is our Sabbath, our relief of the Old Covenant, in which the people suffered the burden of the Law, which they could not bear. If you had a friend in deep suffering, even on the Sabbath, wouldn't you go and help him out?

I just saw someone say that Mormonism and Scientology were the only two major US-originated religions. Which, like, how wrong can you be? Do you know how many Protestant movements originated in the States? Is the Great Awakening nothing to you?

sometimes Baptists will argue they are not Protestants but you have to remind them their whole deal comes directly from Martin Luther's gut problems

Be a TRUE WORSHIPER of GOD THE FATHER (Jn 4:19-24) & fellowship with Him through JESUS THE SON & be led by the HOLY SPIRIT at ALL times (1 Jn 1:3).
‼️IMPORTANT: To become a true worshiper & TO HAVE A BLESSED LIFE, you must STAY AWAY from sin, idol worships, ALL 'man-made' religion including Christianity, its leaders/churches/fellowships/worship places, denominations & all ungodly traditions (1 Tim 6:5).

Okay I think I’m back in a bit of Lane Kim era. I have not been here long and I’ve been given The Great Controversy another book, 1 magazine, 2 booklets, 16+ pamphlets, and a faith counselor.

Spotted the false church yet? How about false believers? False leaders? False everything from the above in one place? Are you able to? Well, no worries, there is a way of getting it prepared. The Bibke was given to us for a reason, and that is to get to know God, His Will, the reality of this world, the way of Christ, and how to get to the Truth. It is the foundation of the church and true teachings. If the "Christian" community doesn't have any of those, get out of there right away, before they get you into their deceits. Trust me, they aren't easy to spot at once, so the Word of God is the best way to learn how to battle false doctrines. Now let us look upon ourselves. Are we better any different? If not, then something must be done about it, and that is turning to our Physician Jesus Christ, Who gave His life and blood for our salvation. If anyone can help us become true believers, it is Him. So let us repent of our dead works of sin, in order to be more like Jesus, Who never erred in His life. Even though we cannot reach that standard, we still ought to follow His Word, and not man's. Man can err, but not God. So let us follow the Right Example into eternal life! Bless you all in the Name of Jesus! Amen.

I love stories where...
Wait, the Pitcairn Islands are 100% Seventh-day Adventist? That's a random as shit religion to be 100%ing a territory. Like, I get why the religious charts say Vatican City is 100% Roman Catholic: it's literally a theocracy.
Granted, the Pitcairn Islands permanent population is like 35 people, so it's not that unusual that they'd all be the same religion. I'm just surprised it's Seventh-day Adventist.

Sorry that post is still bugging me like y'all know the only reason you're taught to obsess over what you eat is so rich assholes can sell you things and most of the "rules" come from a fucking weirdo conman who showed his actual literal shit that came out of his ass to people to prove his nonsense "right" as if that's normal behavior. Bro thought only vegetarians got into heaven, he should NOT be taken seriously, especially after like 100 years. Reading about what Kellogg believed is like reading a bullshit fad diet blog like it's scary how clear it is that most of our ideas about health came form a guy who was so fucking weird he got kicked out of the goddamn Seventh Day Adventist church. And idk about you but I'm not going to spend my life freaking out about how much butter I put on my veggies so a CEO or influencer can make bank off selling me shit a fucking fringe conspiracy theorist from the 1900s who thought he could make lions vegan came up with.
Liberate yourselves from this fatphobic protestant nonsense, I am BEGGING you, life is way too short to spend this much time obsessing over how much fat is in your food. "Healthy" is an ever shifting social construct that benefits the diet industry and systemic fatphobia first and everyone else never and almost all of the science has shown that most of our ideas about what counts are healthy are so wrong it's genuinely laughable. Eating is healthy, not eating is so much worse for you than butter and salt and sugar ever could be. None of this is actually about being healthy it's about demonizing fat people so skinny people can lie to themselves about how much control they have over their lives and funnel money into an industry that thrives off of suffering. And you know what?? Even if it was unhealthy you do not owe anyone health. Being healthy is not a moral obligation and being unhealthy is not a moral failing and anyone who says it is should never be listened to. You deserve to enjoy your food, what the fuck is the point of having such a fucked up relationship with food your whole life?? Who cares about living to 100 if you're miserable the whole time. Food is good and you deserve to enjoy it!!!
Please for the love of god do not let the legacy crusty corpse of a con-artist who believed his own bullshit carried forward by monsters who turn suffering and bigotry into money monopolize your mind to the point that you spend 80 years patting yourself on the back for how much joy you've denied yourself every time you sit down to eat. You can fucking relax, I promise you. Just eat. It's okay.

all those christian groups that arose during the second great awakening sound like new wave bands. Seventh Day Adventists. Latter Day Saints. The Shakers. Methodists. don't tell me you can't imagine a group of gaunt looking protogoth 20 somethings making music under any of these monikers if they weren't already accounted for.

some notes:
lowercase "catholic" means "universal," not Roman Catholic
Eastern Orthodox believe the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father only, so they still use the Creed, but without "and the Son" in the 3rd line of the 3rd paragraph. One could argue that they nevertheless affirm the spirit and goal of the Creed, which is to confirm the deity and unity of all three Persons of the Trinity, as a response to Christological heresies which were plaguing the early church. I am not versed in Eastern Orthodox theology, but I know they are Trinitarian, which is what this post is about. Non-Trinitarian sects are not Christian and are following Christological heresy.
"one baptism for the forgiveness of sins" refers to the unity of spiritual baptism (which saves) and the rite of water baptism (which signifies that salvation). The Creed is not claiming that the act of baptizing saves a person.
please speak to your pastor or elder if you have questions about the Creed, because it is quite alarming that so many Christians here didn't even know it existed
if they don't affirm the Nicene Creed, they are not Christians. if they claim to be Christians but they don't affirm the Nicene Creed, they are 9 times out of 10 a cult.

Significant numbers?

♀My parents dated for 7 years before they got married in 1997, then it took 7 years to give birth to me (first child). My younger (middle child) brother is born in 2007, the age gap between me and my youngest brother (3rd child ) is 7 years.
Both my brothers were born on the 27th. I'm the only one born on the 21st.
I grew up in a Seventh day Adventist household.
I'll likely get married/get proposed to in 2027 (Jupiter enters virgo in my 7th house).
I'll likely have around 3 children somewhere in the future (Dorotheus Method).
In Christianity, God created the universe in 7 days. My life path is 3, and it is said that Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day.

I wonder what significance this really brings into someone's life. Like beyond the mundane. I know that the number seven is known to be significant throughout most major religions. In the book of revelation the number was repeated numerous times; symbolising perfection.
But as of now, I'm still not quite sure where it brings actual significance. Like in the end, what does all of this accumulate to. Is everyone born attached to a certain number? Like it could be in the Akashic records of a person?
Perhaps it's up to future me to decide on the answer.

But yes – sure, “Free Palestine!” supporters are worried for the Palestinian children. This man was so concerned “for the children”, in fact, that he directly copied Hamas’ efforts and…shot children to demonstrate his concern for children. Likewise – again imitating Hamas and so many other so-called Pro-Palestinians – he held individual children responsible for the imaginary crimes of a Christian elementary school/imaginary crimes of a nation, and attempted to kill them for it. And planned to do so again. Oh, and it’s not even done! To cap it all off, he planned to use his own "child" as a weapon to kill more children, in his concern “for the children”. Just like Hamas and the Palestinians themselves, who regularly send their own children as suicide bombers to Israel to kill Jews; who systematically brainwash their children into thinking their lives are only worth however many Jews they can kill.
There is no sense here; there is no moral high ground, there is no freedom or justice or actual concern for anyone. There is only unreasoning, bigoted hate and a manic love of death.
The children he shot -- 5 and 6 years old, respectively -- are alive, thank God.

It's a shame because half of US Protestantism is dope shit like what if we had democracy in our church leadership and what if we all got weird with this and just had fun and also maybe some interracial stuff and the other half looked at that and went:
Tumblr media
"Y'all are not Calvinist and afraid enough. What if we refused to work with you from 1845 to 1995 because we like slavery. We like that you're saying the best part of being Christian is direct connection with God tho, so let's revere conversion narratives because we need more members. We'll call the periods when we revive our churches by scaring people and indoctrination parties Great Awakenings. Then we could create a man so fucked up he [redacted] children's genitals and shot yogurt up people's asses so they could be good god-fearing Christians!"
Tumblr media
wait what? the fuck? this is the first time I'm hearing about this. christians have a Make New Minecraft World event?
