The Mantle Robin
Robins fly together,
fight together,
and die together
Until they don't
Until one of them is broken at the hands of a madman
Until another is turned into a living bomb
A tormented family torn apart piece by piece
Ripped to shreds
and shattered against the floor
Robins smile together,
cry together,
and die together
Until they don't
Until one of them receives a broken neck
Until another is impaled on a sword
Even the brightest smile can dim
Even the bravest heart can falter
Even the smartest mind can break
Even the strongest Robin can die

DPxDC Glass Coffin
Weirder shit has happened in DC universe, but hear me out, Young Justice finds a glass coffin with Danny sleeping inside it. Maybe it's in some ancient tomb and hidden away for centuries, maybe it's in some villain's private collection of artifacts, maybe it's in some museum in plain sight.
And then Kon hears a heartbeat from it.
(I'm going with the version of YJ that is Kon, Tim, Cassie, and Bart here, fyi)
Assuming they didn't come to wherever they found the coffin just for the sake of it, they, as the responsible teenagers they are, finish their business first and take it to Mount Justice later to figure out what the fuck. Meanwhile, Danny is sleeping peacefully like a princess, all up in his King garb, with the Crown of stars, cape of night sky, and whatever else pretty stuff you want him to have. Point is, he looks majestic.
Tim looks up the records for the coffin. The files say it's hundreds of years old, and no one has been able to open it yet. The boy inside is stated to be either a statue or some kind of really well-preserved corpse - no amount of scanning registered any signs of life, so it was treated like a piece of art for the most part.
Yet, Con is absolutely positive he heard a heartbeat inside. What's more, he can still hear it now. It's impossibly slow but still recognizable.
Cassie finds a whole lot of legends about it, most of them speaking of 'only those from the other side can open the casket', and there are no clarifications to what kind of other side they are all talking about.
Of course, they all try. Because this is some kind of Snow White or Sleeping Beauty shit, and besides, none of them even think they would be able to open it anyway. And, sure, as soon as they are done having fun with it, they will report to the JL about their finding. Maybe the magic users will know something about the weird Sleeping Prince. They even go as far as to reason with the casket, loudly proclaiming where they are from, because they all come from very different 'sides'.
Bart goes first, explaining how he is from the future. The casket doesn't budge. Cassie goes next, stating herself as Themyskirian, but to no avail. Kon is next, with his half-Kryptonian heritage, but the glass coffin doesn't accept him as worthy either.
And then it's Tim's turn. And somehow, he flips the glass lid open with no effort at all.
A moment of silence follows, all the YJ members frozen in place, waiting for anything to happen, but the boy inside keeps just laying there, unmoving and with his eyes closed. Then Cassie makes a joke about kissing the princess to wake her up, and all of them start arguing on ethics and stuff because why is Robin the one that has to do the kissing, do you have any idea where that boy has been? Fuck off, you kiss him if you want it, and also, do you really want him to wake up, what if he is some kind of villain or an evil spirit, or-
"Which one of you assholes is dead enough to wake me up from my nap?"
And that's as far as I got with this idea. Maybe Danny was put into some magic sleep, maybe it was Clockwork's time shenanigans, maybe someone locked him inside and he decided to sleep it off, maybe he is there on his own volition, taking a vacation from Kingly duties.
I'm just having this vision of eternally beautiful Danny in a glass (oh, maybe it's not glass, maybe it's ice) coffin, and the YJ arguing over it. There's also Dead Tired potential here, because I love them, yes.

Cassandra Cain Timeline
Putting this together just to get it out of my head. Going to try and push everything together to get a consistent age for me to use. So starting off:
0 to 8 years old: Cass is born and trains with Cain until she kills for the first time
8 to 16/17 years old: Wanders the world alone until coming to Gotham.
16 years old: Barbara states in the NML audio book that Cass can't be older than 16 but she could just be short and malnourished. DC wiki says she entered Gotham at 17 but I think they're pulling that from batgirl issue 1 SO. 16 during the beginning of NML to me and turns 17 before the start of her Batgirl run
17 years old: The first 25 issues of her Batgirl run and everything that happens in other batbooks between those issues. She fights Shiva after a year, so by the time she fights Shiva to the death we know she's definitely 18.
18 years old: Fights Shiva, dies, makes friends with Steph, loses Steph, moves to Bludhaven, tracks down Shiva again, dies again, Bludhaven gets nuked, kills Shiva, returns to Gotham. A busy year for her!
19 years old: Gets drugged by Slade and forced to become evil. Very traumatising but painfully ooc time for everyone. Gets freed, tracks down Cain and Slade but ultimately decides not to kill them, Bruce adopts her, then dies and tells her to give Batgirl to Steph. Moves to Hong Kong and becomes Black Bat for a while, then returns to Gotham and works with Batman Dick and Robin Damian for Gates of Gotham. An eventful and even worse year than last! But don't worry it gets worse.
20 years old: Erased from existence. Appears once in batgirl futures end and once in convergence batgirl. I'm putting her at 20 for both of these because I feel like it. A nothingburger of a year, I'm using Damian's time as an 11 year old to track how long this lasts because Cass was in "too cool for Dan Didio" purgatory.
21 years old/16 years old: Technically 16 during batman and robin eternal but the new 52 was stupid and they've all gotten their real memories back so to Cass she would have basically been an amnesiac, de aged 21 year old during the new 52. Again using Damian's age to track hers since everyone else's was all over the place during this era.
22 years old: Rebirth era. Damian turned 13 in teen titans during rebirth so I'm putting Cass at 22 during all of this.
23 years old: Damian turned 14 during his Robin run so batgirls Cass was technically 23. Does she act like it? Not at all. But they can't take this from me.
24 years old: Damian is now 15 during the new Batman and Robin run. Cass is confirmed to be in her early/mid 20s in her current run.
25 years old: She recently had her birthday so she could be 25 now, which would put Dick in his 30s and Bruce in his 50s. Hilarious, perfect, no notes. She's 25 to me and will stay that way even after Damian inevitably turns 16 because I've decided she has her birthday first. Also it's 25 years since her Batgirl run came out so it just feels right to me.

I’m doing 2 book related challenges this year, storygraph’s 2025 genre challenge and @batmanisagatewaydrug’s book bingo! (I’ll follow along with the book bingo on storygraph!)
I’ve mostly figured out what I’ll read for the book bingo, though I probably won’t start reading books for it until mid-January. They’re in the queue though.
These are the books I’ve figured out so far:
Literary fiction: By Grand Central Station I Sat Down And Wept by Elizabeth Smart
Short story collection: A People’s Future of the United States edited by Victor Lavelle and John Joseph Adams
Sequel: Fire Dance by Ilana C Meyer
Reread Childhood Fave: The Oracle Betrayed by Catherine Fisher
20th Century Speculative Fiction: Parable of the Sower by Octavia E Butler
Fantasy: Halfling by S.E. Wendel
Pre-1950: Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Indie Publisher: The Escapement by Lavie Tidhar
Graphic novel: Monstress vol 5 by Sama Takeda and Marjorie Liu
Animal on the cover: The Bear and The Serpent by Adrian Tchiakovsky
Set in a country you’ve never visited: Shanghai Girls by Lisa See
Science Fiction: Station Eternity by Mur Lafferty
Memoir: An Indian Among Los Indigenas by Ursula Pike
Zine: Fat is Beautiful by Crystal Hartman. Second entry: Let Me Cook by Cydney Hayes
Essay collection: Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer
2024 Award Winner: Crooked by Nathan Masters
Nonfiction: God Save The Queens by Kathy Iandoli
Social justice and activism: White Tears/ Brown Scars by Ruby Hamad
Romance: Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey
Read/make a recipe: American Cookie by Anne Byrn
Horror: The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
Published in the aughts: Going Postal by Terry Pratchett
Historical Fiction: The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo
I’m waiting on the 2025 debut authors (though I have some ideas) and bookseller/librarian rec. but for now I know every book on this current list I either own physically or can get from the library! (Was lucky enough to have a bookstore near me that has zines for sale!)

Heck speaking of that last ask, whose to say even for Dick’s more professional and cordial moments with those outside his family or closest allies, whose to say those aren’t a front to mask his more serious and strategic cunning to through those other people off guard if they’re suspected of doing bad?
I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ASKED THAT BECAUSE YOU'RE SPOT ON!!!!
This actually happens in canon but this time it's within the family.
In Batman and Robin Eternal the whole Batfamily is forced to a clean up a lethal mess that Bruce wasn't able to solve during his and Dick's days. Their opponent is a woman named "Mother" for which she is aptly named because her brilliance and manipulation were so high that Bruce was forced to admit defeat, unable to deal with her.
During the investigation, the rest of the batfamily is blissfully unaware of Tim's actions, histories, and secrets-except Dick.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While leaving the rest of the family in the dark to avoid raising suspicions, he goes to get some answers.
Of course he would never betray his family's trust without some evidence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Jason and Stephanie are busy yelling at each other, Tim quietly sneaks away to answer a call by "Mother." Dick is at the Drake's while this is happening thus indicating that both Dick and Tim have their own share of secrets and battle plans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He asks questions about Tim to his parents as if he's never met Tim before. Someone should get this man an Oscar.
Of course everything goes to hell when an operative of Mother's shows up and starts firing at Dick. Tim's mom utters a codeword that isolates her and Jack and also notifies Tim. Dick neutralizes his opponent.
Tumblr media
And then Tim shows up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"It's your secrets, Tim. I respected your privacy. Never looked too close, until that became a luxury I couldn't afford...I thought you weren't one of Mother's children. Hoped you weren't. But I had to know."
Tumblr media
While Tim is rightfully hurt, but the thing is-they can't trust anyone right now because Mother, their enemy, is inseparable from the batfamily. She gets into people's heads and uses them as operatives over their entire lifetimes from childhood to adulthood. And first and foremost, Dick is a detective. It's ingrained into him to identify any threat and act accordingly.
This scene is extremely important because Bruce was almost killed by Mother and Dick loves Bruce. For his part Bruce almost killed their world just so Dick could live and reversely, Dick would do anything to make sure Bruce was safe.
But here's where Dick's manipulation and cheerful demeanor come into play. The batfamily has no idea how good Dick is at manipulating people.
When Dick runs off to do this, they only say
Tumblr media
They have no idea.
Dick never does anything without a plan, a backup, and a safety net. The only mistake in their understanding is that while they think that Dick looks for a safety net second, they don't know that Dick's already created his own net and the one they see is the one Dick tossed out to his allies when he needs them to catch him.
Even now, Tim only found out because his mom activated the alarms in his house. If Dick's enemy hadn't blasted in and opened fire at him then it's suffice to say that everyone would be none the wiser about his little side quest.
I don't think the batfamily will ever realize how cunning he is. They see him as a kind older brother who is too adherent to Bruce's rules. Afterwards Jason makes fun of Tim in an older brother way by implying if he's mad at his mommy lol.
The DC vs Vampires and why every single member of the family was blindsided was because they underestimated him and never expected it of him. That's how good of a manipulator Dick is and that is why they will never know.
Tim once said Dick was "ranting and raving" in Arkham during Future State but for someone who had supposedly lost his mind, he still was the reason they defeated the government and came out on top. Future State: Nightwing is a peak example of Dick's genius when it comes to controlling people even if it seems like lunacy from the outside.
Everyone sees him as the nice one and Dick is the nice one of the family but when his family's life comes into danger he will unearth any secrets that he let you have in order to keep them safe.
So basically he'll let you do anything: keep secrets, lie to him, ignore him, but if you endanger his family he is coming for you because as the song lyrics goes-
"I may be next to you but you don't know I'm undercover."
And that is what makes his character so excellent. The greatest spy and threat the good has ever had.
This is my favorite personality trait of his because he's the James Bond and Mata Hari of DC.

dance with the devil - part eight
No one look at me. My three fics for STRBB has taken over my brain.
Words: 509 | Rating: E (mostly parts 1 & 2, but also future parts) | CW: no warnings this time! except Eddie's continued bad time
part one || part two || part three || part four || part five || part six || part seven || part eight || part nine || part ten || part eleven || part twelve
Tumblr media
Eddie turns to Steve and blinks, once, twice, thrice.
“I just admitted to being dead and being one wrong move away from going to Hell, and you want to know how this effects you?” he asks incredulously. “You really are something, aren’t you?”
And maybe he’s being a little mean, a little unfair, considering the scene he walked into not even a handful of hours ago now, but Eddie can’t find it in himself to actually care. Maybe he’d be a little more sympathetic if he could remember being alive, but he can’t. He can’t, and he doesn’t know if he ever will again.
“You’re dead,” Steve bites back. “At, apparently, twenty-three. I think my still being alive is more important.”
It takes every bit of self-control for Eddie not to laugh, because this would be his luck. He would get assigned to the actual rudest person on Earth. “Well, you worry about that, and I’ll worry about the eternal state of my soul and whatever the fuck happens if I fail this.”
It’s not an ideal situation. It’s so, so, so far from ideal, but Eddie doesn’t really know what else to do. Not with Steve apparently being the prickliest little motherfucker in existence.
“How about we worry about both of you? Is that something you two can compromise on?” Robin asks with the judgiest raised eyebrow Eddie’s ever seen.
Eddie rolls his eyes at her, noticing that Steve does the same. “If we must,” he grumbles.
“Glad you can be reasonable,” Robin thanks him sarcastically and Eddie thinks he might be back to hating her a little. At least Steve seems equally miserable. “So are you stuck just following Steve around and keeping him out of trouble or what?”
“Something like that, yeah.”
“I don’t need your help,” Steve gripes as he crosses his arms.
Eddie snorts, probably louder than he really needs to, but it’s fucking funny. “Says the guy that would be in jail right now without me,” he points out, bearing no thought on if Robin knows the predicament Steve found himself in that morning in full or not.
She doesn’t seem surprised, so Eddie takes it as her knowing.
Steve huffs at him, rolling his eyes so hard Eddie has to wonder if it hurt. But he doesn’t open his mouth to protest, and that’s good enough for now. It means they both agree that Steve would be fucked if Eddie hadn’t been there, and that’s a start. If they could keep that being the worst of their time together, Eddie might think himself lucky, but he’s never had much luck. He did, after all, die at twenty-three.
“Either way,” he continues on when no one protests. “I’ll try to stay out of the way as much as I can. Only intervene if I think there’s danger.”
Because for all he could use his newfound angelic magic for things like making sure Steve didn’t trip over an untied shoelace or that he always has exact change, Eddie really doesn’t think that’s his job.

Beyond the Farthest Reaches
Hell or High Water - Percy Jackson/DC crossover
Summary:
“Filler” fics that are a part of the series that could have been their own installment but didn’t make the cut to have their own upload, so they’re shoved in here. They will vary in length, quality, and seriousness, and they take place throughout the timeline of the series and will be updated with no rhyme or reason, just as I see fit. Their place will be stated before each one so you’re not as confused.
Fore warning though that, while you can read these back to back, you might get spoilers if you haven’t gotten to a certain part of the series yet.
*Ao3 link here*
****************************************
The Real Reason
Set after “Basking in the Solace of Regret”
Summary: A quest must appeal to both parties involved to be successful.
She is Mother
Set after “Talking with Razors on your Tongue” (A far into the future upload, but you can still read this without spoilers)
Summary: Everyone needs a mother, so why shouldn’t Percy?
Time Goes By So Slowly
Set in the April before “Basking in the Solace of Regret”
Summary: Many thoughts pass through one’s head before death.
Too Pretty (unfortunately)
Set after “Mouth of Infinity”

Regret lies at the Bottom of the Bottle
In tandem with “Waiting on some Holy Favor”
Summary: A person true thoughts are revealed when inhibitions are gone.
Bubbles
Set After “There is a New Intention” (A far into the future upload, but you can still read this without spoilers)
Summary: “A nick name is a term of endearment placed upon a person by family and close friends. It can also be given by members of a team, group, or among strangers to differentiate a person from the other, not to be confused with the malicious definition of ‘name.’”
“You look like a nerd,” Jason said.
The Line that Separates Us
Set After “Driven by a Holy Force” (a future upload that can be enjoyed without spoilers)
Summary: Even gods are bound by law.
The Other Side of the Coin
Set during “I asked, You answered”

You? You!
Set during “And You Wonder What I Believe”

Sing Sweet, Nightingale
Set after “And You Wonder What I Believe”
Summary: Late night lullabies bring more than just sleep.

2.3 TB mission Rambles and theories, spoilers obvs but it’s been over a week guys;
I’ve been thinking about Sunday and Robin in 2.3 and crying
First, Sunday certainly believes he’s going to die. He tells Jade he is essentially a dead man still breathing. Sunday knows politics and maneuvers well; despite all the vague statements of a trial, the fact that the Family does not want to talk about it doesn’t bode well, even to people who should know. Sunday knows he has no future at all. He’s chained up, caged, and he’s basically marked for death.
Robin I think figured this out as well. Her actions are just too desperate to be worrying about Sunday’s freedom. Why not wait until after his sentencing, his trial? I think she figured out from the vague statements she was given after they fell that the Family just intended to completely wash their hands of him and that such a trial wouldn’t really be a fair trial.
Thus, the deal. We don’t know the details yet, but it does seem pretty likely that Robin somehow gave up her ability to interact with Sunday, speak with him, see him, etc. Given the eternal separation bit. I personally don’t really think she gave up her memories because in her visitor dialogue, she does talk about Sunday. It’s somewhat of a safe bet that she just can never interact with him.
But of course this impacts Sunday too. He didn’t get a chance to agree to this deal, agree to never see his sister again. I’m not saying Robin did something bad, but she did make a choice for him, did take away part of his freedom. Sunday clearly at the end of 2.3 was just done and ready to die for his sins and failure, as his light cone also states he was ready to close his eyes forever. He would never have wanted her to do this, and never would have agreed to it, and honestly if he could never see Robin again it would probably destroy him.
Of course this is what the Halovian siblings do; Sunday took on the burden of being Chordmaster when Robin refused, explicitly being depicted as sacrificing himself for her, and given how hellish he describes the ascendancy, he probably would have done this anyway for her. Robin never wanted him to do that for her, and yet he did. They are totally mutualism here.
But the point is, imo, when Robin was faced with Sunday dying, really dying, she was willing to make such a choice for him to give him a future. While he is technically free, he is in some ways bound by Robin’s contract as well. In the end, just like Sunday with the Charmony Dove, Robin decided, ‘I want him to live, no matter what.’ And I just think that’s beautiful for their arcs to come around to, especially since Sunday spent so much of his life encouraging Robin to be free and explore and travel, letting her free from the cage, despite his words about wanting to keep the dove safe. That scene with the Charmony Dove has become a meme for how much it’s repeated in the text, but it truly is the biggest breakdown of Sunday and Robin’s beliefs, and how they overlap and transfer more then you’d expect.

My opinions on Sunday from Honkai: Star Rail
C.W. Contains spoilers after the 2.2 Honkai: Star Rail Trailblazer Quest + theories and lore
.
.
.
I kinda agree with his philosophies and thinking... to some extent...
Okay hear me out!!!
We all know by now that Sunday's whole motive is to protect everyone and ensure that they won't have to suffer anymore (like when he states that he wants everyone to have seven rest days). I can empathise with his character so much, as someone who (as ridiculous and cowardly as it sounds) is afraid to face the harsh realities of life. I mean, even if he's set as a villain, he is as gentle and empathetic as his sister Robin, just that they both express it differently.
Seeing the cutscenes of him and Robin from their past to the present was just so immersive, because Sunday brings up some very demoralizing and harsh situations that he faced back then, and we, the audience, can understand and relate to struggling to cope with his disappointment, frustration, grief, and anger - all while often having little to no power to change things.
From the way Sunday is acting, he seems more like a traumatised parental figure (as we've seen the reason why Robin has to wear excessive neck accessories due to her being shot) who cannot let go and provide his care and safe environment for his loved ones.
Moreover, his ideologies felt surreal as I myself would take that path since I can relate to his trauma and ideals (and also as someone who has a sibling too)
His viewpoint is understandable, but...
Taking away the basic right of an individual's free will for safety is always a controversial issue.
As Himeko once called out Sunday, she states that he's just going to trap everyone in a bird cage through eternal slumber, which robs them their freedom and agency.
Plus, from what Robin said, if Sunday's plan worked, he's going to hurt himself too. Because Sunday will be in charge of everything and everyone, he won't even have time to rest, causing his body and mind to be exhausted to the bone (maybe possible cause his mind and body to corrode cause he needs to rest at one point)
Moreover, Firefly made a good point disapproving Sunday's point that he should not assume just because someone is weak doesn't mean that they should automatically escape to fantasy. It is up to you to be strong so you can fly into the sky, and that not everyone who is weak should be weak.
I remember someone commenting on Youtube stating that Sunday protects Robin so much, that Sunday doesn't even know how to protect himself for facing the outside world. It's kind of ironic considering that Sunday is supposed to be the protective, influential type of characters in Penacony, yet he barely knows how to fly. Robin, however, took the opportunity to spread her philosophies of Harmony and influence others in reality.
In conclusion, Sunday has the right idea, it's just that he has a terrible execution. But I know that there are some people who don't mind, I've been on Instagram to see a lot of people agreeing with his views... yes I'm talking about all those sunday stans cause I've seen a lot from them
(I ain't complaining plz we need more Sunday content!!!)
I mean-- in reality I wouldn't agree; but in this story, I would agree with him. (if we don't consider my simping and bias because that has the most influence)
Honestly, I'm hoping he gets a redemption arc because I really love him (I personally wouldn't mind if Sunday gets the Wanderer treatment from Genshin Impact if it means that Sunday will be playable), and hoping that he is really alive (as stated by the leakers that Sunday has a bunch of specific codes and emotion codes that's exclusive to playable characters).
That said, may we Sunday havers have more Sunday content and playable Sunday in the future!!! I'm gonna write a fic for Sunday so stay tuned!!
Let me know what you guys think of Sunday! Do you think he'll get redeemed? Playable? Alive?
PETITION TO MAKE EVERYDAY SUNDAYYY!!!!!!

On the subject of Fitzmartin, I think sexism and homophobia are factors in why people have negative reactions to her, but I’m unsure that they are THE reason. I think in her early works she was more cautious with what she wrote as she was new, but then she grew (over)confident and began including what she wanted, except people weren’t buying what she was selling, literally. I think her works appealed more to the fandom audience which doesn’t buy comics rather than those who did.
I’m also sure you can’t discuss why she draws such ire without mentioning DC:YJ and TD:R for the reasons she had a short career, though I do think for the latter the art is a major reason for its fail.
Well as I haven't read either Dark Crisis: Young Justice or Tim Drake: Robin yet I am holding off on commenting on them so far, yes.
I think it's probably a combination of factors more than any one thing. Being a woman and having gone out on a limb (and committing to a story where the A plot is Tim discovering his sexuality)
I also think part of it is that while fans have always overreacted to stories, their overreactions are more immediate and direct to creators and in far higher volume these days. There’s a difference between ‘we got a lot of letters complaining about this’ and an orchestrated harassment campaign on social media where people DM telling the writer to kill themself. (I do not know whether this happened to Fitzmartin but I do know what social media harassment claims look like).
And because those reactions are more immediate and in your face, DC are also clearly less willing to give titles a chance, if they’re seeing bad reactions, especially if they are not from one of their superstar writers and they’re about to do a cancel/relaunch cycle.
I don’t think Fitzmartin became overconfident, but I do think she slipped into the trap where she was responding to the loudest voices, and I also think it’s probable what she experienced as the loudest voices does not match what outsiders would consider as so.
I think she’s a decent writer and old like to see what she’s do if given more opportunities for range.
Her Penguin backup in 'Tec #1038 felt like it had pretty solid characterisation of Cobblepot.
Future State: Robin Eternal was not particularly compelling or memorable.
She had "My Family" in Batman: The Brave and the Bold #4 which is a sweet little reflective Bruce internal narration piece (while he is busy dying during a fight)

I'm watching HSR lore videos, and just to give you a taste, here is a really fun comment on a video:
I was thinking about finality and since it is a path related to the tree of imaginary numbers which are the square root of negative numbers (denoted by symbol i) and the fact that imaginary numbers follow a certain cyclical pattern when raised to positive integer exponents such as i^0= 1, i^1= i, i^2=-1, i^3= -i, i^4= 1, i^5= i, i^6=-1 and so on, this implies that finality is not the path representing an end but rather a continuous cycle of repeating imaginary quantities (due to the positive integer exponent that i is being raised to most likely represents the periodic phase of that specific universe; this is why there is most likely only 4 unique discernible variants of Welt that have existed on the imaginary tree. We only have yet experienced one variant of Welt (Variant 1), however, theoretically it is possible to encounter three more unique versions of him in the future. Slight genetic alterations of a character such as with firefly which would be represented as variant 0 (i^0) and would function as the same type of variant as variant 4 (i^4) even though they would genetically and phenotypically be distinct. This is because both firefly variant 0 and firefly variant 4 would both LACK any imaginary energy whatsoever due to them only containing real energy. This is the only notable similarity between such variants.
Overall, this connects to a deeper hypothesis about the imaginary tree (y-axis) and how it essentially functions as being a cyclical representation of imaginary numbers located above the reality bridge (x-axis) with variants 1,5,9,13 and so on are most likely the most compatible with forming a connection with the imaginary tree resulting in the birth of a 1D imaginary projection representing the conception of an idea and the person as its overseer (guardian) that still remains following the next cycle (this is why Fuli is programmed to be concerned with memories as they still exist in a continuous state.
What happens to those that do happen to ascend to an aeonic state (ID imaginary projection of themselves)? Consequently, their consciousness is transferred to the 1D projection and then modified substantially while establishing the effects of the primum mobile to ensure the projection is not compromised by the discrete properties of the sea of quanta. This is to ensure maximum continuity. Individuals who are variants 1,5,9,13 and so on are probably those attributed with the imaginary element in game such as Yukong, Dr. Ratio, Loucha, and Welt. These individuals have the highest probabilities to ascend to an aeonic state due to their natural infinity to the continuous fluctuations of imaginary numbers and serve as eternal guardians of the tree. Individuals such as Clara, Natasha, Boothill, Robin, Sushang are all physical type characters that signify real numbers and thus belong to Version 0,4,8,12 and so on. I am unsure of how the other types within the game correlate to the other versions relating to -i, and -1.
The trailblazer I hypothesize is a unique example of this cyclical effect within the game as he is first found playable as a physical type character and then transitions into an imaginary type character later on. This character complicates the correlation as how can a character such as the trailblazer be highly compatible with the imaginary tree and yet at the same time be grounded on the bridge of reality. This is because I think the trailblazer represents two characters in one; a dual version similar to how any individual QUANTIZED can exhibit two states at the same time; a particle and a wave. In case you don’t know, a wave can be categorized through the function f(x)= cosx+ isinx which explains exactly why the trailblazer can swap between real, physical power (cosx) and imaginary power (isinx) at any time as well as explaining the quantum connection that the trailblazer has and why the trailblazer is the true opposition of the imaginary tree.
Finality’s purpose I hypothesize is simply to transition the imaginary tree to the next version of numbers which would randomize the character’s version DATA and thus amplify the amount of possible projections that the tree can establish further growing the continuity it seeks to expand exponentially. All the data from the characters thus most likely comes from the sea of data and this is how the tree seeks to absorb the sea by continuously converting the sea’s data to Aeons or extensions of itself which is why the primum mobile exists which is to prevent rebellion from the sea of quanta. Characters are after all the smallest possible playable unit in the game making them all “quantum”.
The trailblazer is truly unique as I hypothesize the player is the sole reason. As the player continues to collect more and more quantized playable units, the imaginary tree consequently has less opportunities to absorb the data to continue nourishing and sustaining itself. The trailblazer functions kind of as a vacuum absorbing all of the characters preventing the tree from growing properly by assimilating the sea’s data as part of its own 1D projections.
Final thoughts: Many consider Aeons to be powerful entities within the lore of Honkai Star rail considered to be gods among the peoples. However, as aeons are considered to be addressed as THEY by the game and bound by THEIR primum mobile, something seems a bit off. As one understands the true nature of imaginary numbers and how they are used to represent rotations among the complex plane, and how there are various “versions” or “expies” of characters sprinkled among Hoyoverse games, one seems to wonder the true purpose of these characters and why some characters are designated as imaginary, physical, or something in between. And then, one would come to hypothesize about the connections between the imaginary tree and the sea of quanta and how the tree supposedly absorbs the sea. Why are characters like Nanook pushed into such desperate situations where products of the Aeons in the form of the Swarm disaster and rebellious inorganic lifeforms coincidentally trigger the rise of another Aeon? Or what about the mockery of Dr. Veritas Ratio and how products of Quilpoth (IPC) and Nous (Genius Society) lead Dr. Ratio down a similar tragic path as Nanook? This is just a hypothesis I have about the greater implications of Aeons and how I think that like Nanook, Terminus the Aeon was formed by similar circumstances involving the products of some forms of Aeons and thus is doomed to an eternity of a niche exclusively guarding over the cyclical nature of imaginary numbers to ensure the imaginary tree can keep on expanding exponentially, continuously, forever.
.......Yup!
