So I saw some people discussing/agreeing with this reddit comment and I decided to make my own post addressing it

So much of this is just straight up wrong. I know Gi-hun isn't perfect. That's what makes him so interesting. But to say he only cared to end the games when someone closed to him died is just not true. Could he have been motivated more to end the games after seeing Sang-woo and Sae-byeok die than if they were strangers? Sure. But he still spent 2 years tracking the recruiter/In-ho down so he could try and stop the games so other people wouldn't get hurt and killed.

Then all of season 2 he voted X to end the games. Also, Jung-bae and Young-il died DURING the rebellion. The rebellion he was leading to try and stop the games. So how did he only care about ending them after Jung-bae and Young-il died? Come on.

And it's pure speculation he felt no remorse for sacrificing X players during lights out. It was something he felt needed to be done to have a chance at ending the games, but that doesn't mean he wasn't remorseful. And he stopped the guy from shooting the O players because Gi-hun doesn't want people to die. The whole series has people making difficult decisions, and just because Gi-hun sometimes makes the "wrong" ones doesn't mean he's a selfish bitch who doesn't care about other people. He re-entered the games to try and stop them, putting his life at risk for hundreds of strangers.

Also, it's normal to only cry when a friend dies. We see in other scenes Gi-hun feeling sad/upset at other players' deaths even if he doesn't shed tears for every single one. Just because he doesn't cry after every death, that doesn't mean he doesn't care.

Anyway. Gi-hun is far from perfect and has made plenty of mistakes, but to say he only cares about ending the games when a friend dies is so. Wrong. Did you even watch the show?

I jokingly say I "hate art and music students for how happy they are" and I don't, I wish my field (engineering) was like tht too, I'm glad they're happy and I wish the best for them

It seems like the snearing I hear from others about non stem majors is like they're unhappy with their lives and they don't like it when other ppl are happier - ya know? Like, music, art, dance, pottery, etc are all beautiful crafts tht take time and skill and patience and long nights and they love what they do; then I meet some jackass in the engineering field be upset tht they're wasting their time or its not hard as tho like glass blowing is innate to humans as nests are to birds - like bro, just cuz ur unhappy and u hate ur life doesn't mean others should and just cuz u didn't see the minutiae of their labor means its easy.

Like I'm sorry u hate ur life, and sometimes (most times if im being cruelly honest) the material conditions of capitalism force ur hand to do work u hate - someone found they love a non stem field, they can afford to do that labor, they're thriving, and what they do matters

For the love of God, I'm so tired of seeing engineers think they know everything instead of just the 1 branch in our field

Ok I’m sorry to my like- 5 followers for posting about politics again, but I keep seeing a lot of comments everywhere about there being “problems on both sides” (cough chappell roan cough). Which is fair. Absolutely, of course there are problems on both sides. The Democrats are far from perfect.

But if you are continuously arguing that there are problems on both sides, what is your plan? To not vote? Vote for a third party candidate? If so, you are actively, willingly helping to elect a man who is a rapist, misogynist, white supremacist, and felon. I’m sure I missed something there, but you get the point. You are rolling out the red carpet for the guy who has repeatedly expressed his desire to be a dictator. To deport all immigrants, legal or not. To persecute LGBTQ+ people. To take away a woman’s basic bodily autonomy. To strip away voting rights.

It is perfectly reasonable to say there are problems with both parties. But for the love of all that is holy do not pretend they are the fucking same. It is not the intelligent take you think it is. Because you may not like Harris or the Democratic Party, but if Trump is elected, there will be a far, far worse outcome. If you are not a rich cis straight white Christian male, the GOP does not give a shit about you. In fact, they probably are actively trying to make life worse for you. In case you haven’t noticed, the GOP is full of literal Nazis.

So if you aren’t voting, what the actual fuck are you thinking? Honestly. I get that you may not like the Dems position on the war in Gaza. You want to support people’s right to exist. But if that is what you truly believe in, then there is a VERY clear choice here. Please, please make the right one.

Art Theft Maybe???

I don't know much about it, but there's this brand on Amazon called "JHRktu", and I only stumbled across them because they were selling Lies Of P posters with art made by two different artists, one of whom is Garagepanic and the other who is @inginev

And I did not see credit for them or any other artists on the page. Which is... infuriating, to say the least.

I sincerely hope they're actually paying these artists to use their work, but... This is Amazon, and the people on there can be awful.
