i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."

"no," i assured her. i discovered i had dropped an m&m, but an ant had already found it, so it belonged to him now. i will let his little life have a surprise blue treasure in it, too. "i'm gonna fuckin' eat the book."

i was sitting in my room thinking of how convenient it is that the books in the pjo series takes places before or after the school year. then i remembered that ttc happened during winter break. and that percy and annabeth likely returned for their second semester after that quest. what a tragedy.

Danny gets summoned by the Justice League to deal with a world ending threat, and in return, he just wants help with his algebra homework because word problems are hell to solve

Danny dusted off his hands. "There! All good!"

Superman and the rest of the Justice League stared at the pulverized remains of the enemies and then turned back to Danny. "Thank you, King Phantom. How could we repay you?"

Danny laughed politely and then coughed. "No payment needed. I do have a few questions."

Wonder Woman nodded. "Of course, ask away, Your Majesty. Your help to us has been invaluable in saving our world."

Danny waved his hand absentmindedly and pulled out a pencil and paper from his insides. He coughed again and then said, "Say, if the ratio of apples to oranges in a bundle was 3 to 5, with 576 fruit in total, how many oranges are there?"

Silence reigned.

Then Batman said, "What?"

Danny coughed some more, his face flushing green before he repeated, "So if I had a bag of apples and oranges with a 3 to 5 ratio with 576 fruit in total, then how many oranges are there in total in the bundle?"

".... pardon?"

"Okay, so—!"

i am convinced that the blue lock guys would try and do the "how many fingers am i holding up lol ✌️" thing with yukimiya (even with his glasses on) but the thing is...

his actual vision isn't that bad, the myopia was just an offset caused from optic neuritis. it's like at most -1.75 at best so he can still see decently well from afar without them

but everyone just gets so worked about it and bachira starts yelling "WITCH 🫵🫵🫵" when yukki keeps correctly guessing how many fingers he's holding up with a deadpan expression

DPXDC Childhood Heroes!

Nicktoons x DC! But pushed even FURTHER BEYOND! So you know how Jimmy Neutron is the one who brought the Original 4 Nicktoons together, and the Fandom has collectively decided to bring in Manny and Jenny? I had a brilliant thought. At first, I wondered if there was any way Secret Trio/Quartet would make it into Nicktoons. Then I realized those guys aren't even from Nick. And then I had a realization, What if Jimmy's Portals only works for the Nickelodeon Multiverse? And then I reached an epiphany thanks to DPXDC. Based on Phandom Lore, The Ghost Zone or Infinite Realms acts as the in-between of the multiverse. The glue. What if Danny is able to access the other Toon's Universes through the Zone? And with this realization, I went mad. Danny falling through a Natural Portal and encountering a BRAND NEW UNIVERSE! He manages to get back before he gets caught and tells Jimmy about it! They like the idea of new Teammates, but Jimmy can't seem to access or Portal into that Universe. And Jimmy comes to the realization that the only way to the greater Multiverse is through the Zone! So the Nicktoons leap through, and meet other Universes and gather a greater team! The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, Kim Possible, Randy Cunningham, Jake Long, Generator Rex, Miraculous Ladybug, RobotBoy and RobotGirl! They gather the Heroes, and the Toon Force is here! They move from Jimmy's old HQ into Phantom's Castle since he became the Ghost King! They have Portals to their home universes, and they're doing great together! They're stronger than ever, and having a blast! Until when they're all together, they all suddenly fall through a Natural Portal together, and where, you may ask?

THE DC UNIVERSE.

The Toon Force are a little confused, but quickly realize - there are Heroes here! But oh no, they're losing! In an Alien Invasion! No time to think, they need to act!

TOON FORCE - UNITE!

The Justice League were losing, badly. They were ambushed, and were losing. Until suddenly, the Aliens were being pushed back! And the Leaguers who were standing or getting back up looked. And what they saw shocked them. Now, remember. These Leaguers, before they were Heroes - were kids. They watched Cartoons, they got up early morning on a Saturday to see those Cartoons. They loved them, they enjoyed them. Even Bruce Wayne loved seeing them on TV. So imagine their surprise to see their Childhood Heroes standing - and flying - in front of them. Before they all launched themselves into the Invaders. And winning.

Superman was saved and rescued by the Powerpuff Girls!

The Teen Titans were rescued by Jenny Wakeman, the Teenage Robot! Alongside Danny Phantom, The Ninja of Norrisville and RobotBoy!

Aquaman was being supported by one Spongebob Squarepants!

Jimmy Neutron was hacking into the Alien's Ships and Weapons with Barbra Gordon!

Martian Manhunter was fighting with Ben Tennyson, and Generator Rex!

Wonder Woman is being assisted by Kim Possible and RobotGirl!

Zatanna is with Timmy Turner, Jake Long and Marinette Dupain-Cheng!

And the whole world was watching.

The Justice League were losing, the adults, elderly and children were losing hope. But then - their childhood heroes came. They came, and they're saving the Justice League!

They were Heroes before the League, before any of them!

And they were here!

Their Childhood Heroes have arrived!

Danny: Well yeah. There's Randy, Kim, Jake, Rex, Ben, Jenny, Peter, Marinette, Guy, MK, Leo, and I'm sure there's more out there I haven't come across yet.

Batman: and your all just teenage heros?

Danny: heroes, spies, robots, ninjas, it varies but essentially yes. We have a support group over zoom because Marinette lives in Paris. Also we're kind of scattered throughout dimensions so video calls are just easier
