S&P (HCSPAU) Masterpost!

--- What is Spores & Petals? ---

It's a Hermitcraft AU comic of our interpretations of the Mycelium War from S7! Some things might appear as they happened, other things might not, it's a fanmade AU after all. It is a passion project, so updates may be really fast or really slow depending on how busy our lives are.

--- S&P Contains Hermitshipping ---

This comic is one big Desert Duo (Scar x Grian) slow burn, with a few other ships sprinkled around in the background. Any comic parts that contain said pairs in a romantic setting/implied to have a romantic interaction will be, of course, tagged accordingly. To add to the point above, these ships are about the characters they portray, not the CC themselves. Always make sure to tag posts appropriately and respect a CC's boundaries (never @ them in posts like these, be respectful etc)!!! S&P does NOT and will NEVER contain any explicit/sexual themes whatsoever. Just fluff! (and angst). Overall, the shipping content that will be in S&P is relatively tame.

'Sup. Progress shots be upon yee.

Been a while.

Uni kicked me where the sun don't shine for the last weeks of 2nd year, but we persevere! (￣^￣)ゞ One more week and I'm free. (for the summer. falls over and dies)

Besides preparing for Artfight (as one does around this time of year, go attack me i attack back), I can proudly say I've been on a roll with sketches for part 4, as in like, they're all done!!! Whaaaat???

Also while I'm here I just want to get sappy for a moment and thank everyone who's read the first 3 parts so far, so sorry they take a long time to make, it's me, I'm the problem. Rai thumbnails very fast, but my hands and attention span can only do so much (シ_ _)シ

✨WIP Wednesday #7✨

Remember when this used to be a weekly thing? Yeah me neither.

It's more like monthly MAYBE, if we remember.

Good news tho!!! We're making steady progress on part 3, having all the thumbnails done (like forever ago). Part 3 has a total of 10 pages, and I can proudly say that I, despite powering through exam week AND driving lessons, I have 3 and a half pages fully sketched out! Be proud! Say "good job Ari". Say it. WHY ARENT YOU-

So in true WIP Wednesday fashion, here's some of my favorite so far (cleaned up for your viewing pleasure):

AHEM AHEM besides all that, we made big changes in how we organize stuff after discovering that we can, in fact, share a Notion workspace thingy thing instead of having me bookmark a link to a page I can edit, but only on PC because pocket computer sucks. And-

-wow it's literally the same as before. We basically copy-pasted the format and pages we had from before, it's just less scuffed on my side, I can edit and add things easier AND I can access it on pocket computer if I'm on the go.

When I ultimately take a break from my artistic duties, I dabble in ✨dialogue✨ that's to be used for future parts. I genuinely can't NOT show this one from Part 5 (omg what about part 4? part 4 doesn't need shit. part 4 need ME to actually sit down and DRAW. everything else needed for it is ready to go)

On top of all that, a while ago I remembered that this lil timer app still exists, which I used to use religiously back in my Paint Tool SAI days (I feel old. I ain't even old.). What that means is that I can actually SHARE with YOU ALL how LONG it actually takes ME to FINISH these god forsaken pages /silly

All my slow artists rise up in solidarity please.

Lotta shenanigans went down between all of the co-creators (all 2 of us) inside our little chat in the past few days. We're always coming up with ideas for future parts, fun stuff we could add, things we could change and one off bits here and there. (we're not normal about this project whatsoever)

I can't say too much without, well, revealing too much. For now though, I'd suggest being careful, you never know who's watching~

🌘Cosmic Rambles #1🌘

Ari rambles, cosmic rambles- they're basically the same thing: me yapping about this project and how it's going. It kind of counts as a progress update as well, sort of!

Blame the actual comic coming out at a snail's pace on me, staying focused (and motivated) as of late is a big chore, and with college going the way it's going (long story) things ended up the way they are now: I'm halfway through line art for part 2 which has 8 pages total! Pages 1, 2, 3 and 4 are done and ready to be colored, page 5 and 8 have sketches with almost done line art, and then there's the bane of my existence: pages 6 and 7.

If anyone wondered how all of that ends up looking like in CSP:

Besides the actual pages themselves, we do work on stuff that'll help us in the long run. Since we're not completely going for what actually happened in S7, we did a bunch of changes that needed figuring out timeline wise. We knew this was gonna be a big project, but we didn't expect to have to organize as much as we ended up doing, so we went from like 3 discord chats to 8 to then making a page in Notion to keep track of everything because it was... too much LOL

OH NO, ARI CENSORED IT?! OF COURSE THEY DID!!! rai would kill me if i didnt

We have most of everything planned for the first 16 parts (roughly) and parts thumbnailed out by Rai up to (I believe) part 4 as well as other random tidbits from future parts. So progress is being made!!! I feel like this entire post is just me trying to make myself feel better because of the speed we're going at- ANYWAYS yada yada passion project

I tried to try and predict at one point how many parts this comic will actually have, and spoilers I failed miserably.

I also got really into writing as of late, I've never been good with words but it's like some kind of chemical reaction happened in my head and now I just can't stop writing things (mainly D&D related), so I sometimes write dialogue. I want to (soon) start writing dialogue for the next few parts, since for me that's faster than drawing and it counts as progress overall so it makes me feel better. So far I've written 2, the second one being pretty long and-

I have like way more I could talk about, but this is getting lengthy and I need to milk my inner thoughts for content to feed this blog /j
