The healers’ files are formatted a lot like the POI files that Ariadne’s familiar with. She’s been given primary responsibility for exactly one healer, so it’s his folder she starts with, though she’ll make sure to read the others’ before she has to work with them.

The first burning question she has is: Alex Morgen? As in Taryn Morgen? She knew Taryn Morgen was in captivity briefly with a healer brother… and sure enough, this is him.

Her second question is: why the hell aren’t they making use of him as a tactical asset? She leafs back through the pages searching for any kind of an answer, but all she finds is one brief note from a couple of years ago – which must have been about the time Taryn Morgen was starting to attract real attention.

Taryn Morgen seems unaware that he is still alive. Risk assessment finds unacceptably high risk for uncertain reward.

That’s a bullshit non-answer if ever Ariadne heard one. She suspects the hospital just didn’t want to give up an asset to another team. 

There’s no evidence that anyone ever followed up or re-assessed, despite Taryn’s meteoric rise to infamy in the intervening years. Fucking typical. 

Well, there’s something for Ariadne to try and follow up on, once she’s built up a bit of trust here.

In the process of searching for answers, she’s skimmed through several years worth of notes on the healer’s output. They’re also pretty sparse – healer keepers hate documentation about as much as everyone else, Ariadne supposes. But there’s enough to paint a rough picture of steady decline. Which fits with what Ari understands. Everyone knows healers burn out over time.

Disciplinary events don’t seem to make it into the records.

His former primary handler is one Neil Frazier. Some relative of General Frazier, as far as Ariadne can recall. Probably he has the same attitude as all the other nepotism hires. It would be bad form to go trying to pull up his file, even though she is curious about the “inappropriate conduct” that apparently got him reassigned. Besides, she doubts her clearance would cover it.

Most of Frazier’s notes are brief to the point of unhelpful and give little hint of personality – his or the healer’s – aside from the most recent update to the general overview:

Lazy, disobedient, manipulative. Favourite lie is to fake running out of magic. Needs a firm hand.

He cries to provoke sympathy but the disobedience doesn’t stop until it’s punished.

Close to burnout, he’ll need disposal soon.

Well, that’s just great. They did say the healer wasn’t working and they wanted Ariadne’s skillset to get him obeying orders again. But “close to burnout” doesn’t sound good. Doesn’t sound like she’s being set up to succeed. 

But still, it’s this or paperwork.

She’ll take the rest of the criticism with a pinch of salt, she thinks. It does sound a bit like the grousing of a guy who’s just lost his job for failing to get results. Still, she’ll watch out for the manipulation.

In the 1970s, excavations at the Newton Slave Burial Ground uncovered the grave of a man believed to be a healer or spiritual figure. He was buried with powerful objects: metal jewelry, an iron knife, and a short-stemmed clay pipe likely made in Ghana.

Among his burial items was a necklace made from a mix of beads, some with fascinating origins.

One glass bead, made with European powder glass, was probably crafted in Ghana.

Another, a cylindrical carnelian bead, came from Cambay, India ; a region known for carnelian bead production since the first millennium. These beads were traded through East Africa, across the Sahara, and into West Africa.

Other elements of the necklace could have been acquired in Barbados, but together they reflect a deep continuity of African cultural traditions in the Caribbean.

Scholar Jerome Handler used ethnographic sources from West Africa to interpret the necklace, and strongly argued that the man was likely seen as an obeah or healer by the enslaved community at Newton.

This burial is one of the most powerful archaeological cases for the survival of African spiritual identity through the horrors of the Middle Passage and slavery.

yapping under cut :3 i love these guys sooo much (contains hcs for both and also their relationship) also erm side note this is like basically half the shrimpo yapping post i mentioned making and side note 2 ignore it if this makes no sense and it has one william typos it is currently past 2 am as im writing this and i am VIBRATING i lvoe them sm

i like to imagine cosmo as being like a doctor/medic of some sort to the other toons (given his ability to heal)(sprout and ginger (and whatever other healers end up getting added but they kinda have their own shit goin on with sprout being a main and ginger only being around during christmastimes) would also be kinda like this but cosmo is like this especially to me) not only in physical health but also mental health,, i think he just naturally is the type of person who is very good at comforting others plus he also probably does extra research to be able to help ppl and make sure everyones doing ok ^-^ even if it takes a toll on him too (why his ability also takes one of his own hearts*)

*i imagine that the hearts ingame are not only representative of their physical health but also MENTAL health,,, since ichor corrupts you by first taking over your MIND then twisting u to the point ur basically a zombiee (in my hcs)(i have a wip yap post about this too) which is why the mains have one heart permanently broken bc the whole situation stresses them out more,,

Shrimpo on the other hand is sooo touch starved like SOOOO touch starved. they have many many issues and i also imagine that they were kinda disregarded/treated like shit by the toon handlers and also other ppl due to his role in the show. Also another pretty common hc but i imagine that bc of her species they have to drink more water than other toons but they were never??? told for some reason?????? speaking to how little they actually cared for shrimpo.,, anyway while gardenview was still active she was told to drink water but they viewed it more as the toon handlers just asking him to do stuff for no reason since you know. they were never told WHY and also he was given so little affection in general that sh ejust became really touch starved and got the impression that no one likes him and hes only there as a joke WHICH TO BE FAIR. IS PARTIALLY TRUE. so now hes just kinda worries that he HAS to be mean otherwise he will be literally forgotten by EVERYONE since he just. doesnt think he has any other defining characteristics (i actually think she does have many hobbies and talents/skills but she doesnt think shes as good as any of the other toons making him disregard any of those talents entirely) (the main intrest i have for him is writing but liek i just said he has intrests in like a zillion other things too) (am i projecting WHO KNOWSSSSSSSSSSSSS)

So for their relationship would probably be literally the best thing to happen to shrimpo since cosmo is THERE for her to give her the affection she never got to get, to comfort her which is a thing shes never had before,, she couldnt even take a complement without assuming its a joke at first and now she has someone to support her to care for her,,, like almost a hurt/comfort kinda trope??????

Cosmo i think would probably have suspected she was hurting a long time ago like maybe even before gardenview shut down but once he KNEW he was hurting he wanted to help him,, and the experience is healing for them both bc cosmo kinda feels liek its his purpose to heal people and to be sprouts companion (BOO ANOTHER COMMON HEADCANON) but shrimpo has experienced thinking you only have one purpose before SO shes also there for HIM to let him know hes SO MUCH MORE than just a doctor,,,,,,,,,,, jkdbifjas so theyre there for EACH OTHER so SUPPORT EACH OTHER TOGETHER!!,!! and also its a reather common hc that while cosmo IS nice he is also very very polite so he wont rlly insult anyone but shrimpo is almost like the opposite so cosmo can teach shrimpo patience while shrimpo can teach cosmo that its ok to not neccisarily be polite about everythigns and to let ppl know when ur at ur limit :3 if you know what i mean,,,,,, ndifsiofbisan they can be SO GOOD together theyre such an underrated ship

My hero of yore kirby ocs as toons in dandys world!! They are. Not balanced becuase I don't know game balance so feel free to criticize them lololol. They all take a sort of inspiration of an rpg role sorta- galacta is a cannon charcter and the main toon in this. Event to me. It's like a star festival maybe?

All the cards and stats:

I think crescent is like astros cousin or soemthing(I know boo me for making him related to a main but I couldn't transfer him over without him kinda looking like astro LOLOLOL both are moon themed) and flora is older brother to cocoa!!!

I csnt . Build charters but;

Galahad/Galacta is def meant to be a distractor for sure

Crescent is an all rounder

Stellar can be extractor or distractor

Flora is definitely a healer but he can be used to as an all rounder in genreal

Lore stuffz;

Galahad is the main toon and is this sort of hero/figure to look up to and maybe in universe is like a superhero team with these guys as the leader? However his grace was sullied by stellar probs somehow. Stellar Def evil. As a result none of them speak highly of Stellar in convos

Flora and galacta are childhood friends and get on very well, despite floras hidden envy for gala

Flora unrelated given his tea party trauma in his regular sotry should have beef with teagen. Somehow. They should beef.

Stellar is such an evil cat. He craves the spotlight galahad and to become a main and so makes some plan to sabatoge his fellow toon(maybe something to do with making him a twisted?)

Bami/Crescent helped stellar in this plan that I'm keeping vuage but was burned by siding with stellar and got hurt as well.

Flora ended up finding all of this out and was the one to walk out of all this unturned instead pushing stellar to become a twisted when he tried to compare the twos want to be a main and recognized and pushes him on accident and runs away leaving stellar to his fate which he may veie as a selfish action qnd also deny any of this happened too go with his dream world thing. I think he vists astro often to ask for nice dreams to avoid eveyrhting//

Also, ik it seems only main toons have handlers but I'll say evryr toon has one to somehow fit his mommy issues he has in as his handler being curel/neglectful to him probs :]

Also he's system, so that's how his alters formed. I think during showtime and like other shit he tires to be the one in front but sometimes other alters come put to help him with shit. He'd lrbky have different alters to suit the needs in dandys world like one thtss outgoing and confident and great for like shows and then there's one thats great with kids ectect.

I dunno if it's spoils so much, but can you tell us more about these main eleven bloodlines? Like some of their names are pretty straight forward and obvious, but some are harder to understand what lies behind them

I’m working on some cool lore posts for each Bloodline right now but until everything is ready here is a summary:

Not all individuals exhibit every trait, occupation or ability. Not all fit these roles. But most are somewhere near the pattern.

Umbra

Powers: Cloaking, becoming one with the shadows, shadow manipulation, fear aura, illusion

Traits: Cold-skinned, black-eyed, easy to forget… until they’re behind you

Weakness: Bright light burns them. Flash too fast, and they blink out hard

Common Occupations: Assassins, informants, covert operatives, cleaners, spies

Seraph (bloodborns of this Bloodline live hidden, known Serap's are very rare)

Powers: Healing, light projection, charisma, divine barriers

Traits: Glowing eyes, shimmering gold skin, hair that never dims

Weakness: Every miracle costs them life. Some age rapidly. Some burn out screaming

Common Occupations: Cult leaders, medics, healers, therapists. Either worshipped or hunted there is no in-between

Infernal – The Fire-Blooded

Powers: Fire control, heat resistance, pain-forged contracts

Traits: Heterochromia or eyes like live coals, hardened skin,

Weakness: Douse them. Freeze them. Once a pact is forged it can only be broken if the contractor or contractee dies. Some temper kills faster than the flame

Common Occupations: Enforcers, contract killers, smugglers, criminals

Draegon

Powers: Enhanced strength, elemental breath (fire, acid, ice), flying, wealth-sense

Traits: Scale-patched skin, slit eyes, bones too dense to break

Weaknesses: Greed and obsession make them easy to manipulate. Poison-sensitive

Common Occupations: CEOs, Syndicate heads, private security, vault managers, collectors

Fae

Powers: Nature manipulation, charm, minor shapeshifting

Traits: Glimmer hair, constellation freckles, smooth voices

Weaknesses: Cannot break promises or contracts without physical/mental pain

Manitou

Powers: Mediumship, spirit tracking, possession channelling

Common Occupations: Negotiators, smugglers, underground lawyers, charm operatives.

Chronos

Powers: Precognition, temporal phasing, telepathy

Traits: Star-flecked eyes, faint glow in darkness, spiral birthmarks

Weaknesses: Disorientation, time-lag psychosis, extreme fatigue

Common Occupations: Informants, cult assets, surveillance analysts, codebreakers

Abyssal

Powers: Water manipulation, aquatic strength, breathing underwater

Traits: Webbed digits, always cool skin, persistent dampness

Weaknesses: Dehydrate rapidly. Extreme heat disables powers

Common Occupations: Dockworkers, deep divers, sewer runners, enforcers, extraction agents

Primordial

Powers: Raw elemental control (either earth, fire, air, water).

Traits: Glowing vein-like markings, unstable body temp, pressure-based presence.

Weaknesses: Extreme collateral. Mental and physical deterioration with use.

Common Occupations: Often isolated or used in black-site demolitions, high-risk extractions, last-resort muscle, pit fighters

Chimaera (only exists due to experiments and cross bloodline relationships)

Powers: Mutation-based — claws, senses, animal traits, hybrid abilities.

Traits: Textured skin patches, sharp teeth, monster features.

Weaknesses: Instinct loss, drug sensitivity, genetic instability.

Common Occupations: Pit fighters, bounty hunters, underground mercs, runaway test subjects.

WHAT IFS

What if the whole reason Oprah called Meghan to "offer an interview" was a guise? Hear me out... we all know about what Jaguar Wright has been saying. What if Oprah is MM's handler? What if when she was calling and asking the Palace for an interview, it was a guise?

What if she was truly calling to signal to her to get in contact, so that she could get in line for a Baby Alive from Amazon? But here is the thing that shook me when I realized the connections...

We know for a FACT that John of God would use teens as sex slaves to sell children to parents who couldn't have their own children. Up to $50k a child. What if, as MM's handler, Oprah was really just dog whistling her?

What if Oprah procured the alleged surrogates, and this is why they were forced into the embarassing interview. MM showed recently with the book club appearance that she loathed O.

Think of how this would go.

Hypothetically, MM and H could technically fake the pregnancy and pretend by keeping away from the family under the ruse of racism, What if MM created animosity just to hide the truth and stay away from the others who would know? What if they did find out and were blackmailed by some pretty powerful people into submission?

What if the reason the bullying report will never see the light of day is because it recalls proof of the surrogacy discovery?

What if Harry is separated from MM and dating the lady he was sitting next to secretly? What if the BRF sent that lady to lure him back home?

What if they offer MM a HUGE payout via divorce so that Harry goes back to the UK, and they keep the 'kids' behind private, palace walls forever?

What if MM is forced by O into doing another interview where she tries to pretend racism and ageism from the palace forced her into using a surrogate?

What if MM tries to say they 'forced' her into using a surrogate so that she was blackmailed into playing by their rules; after all, if it ever comes out they're not of her body, they'll have to be legally removed from the Line of Succession.

What if it does come out and causes a Crisis? What if it's true that Trevor told Thomas Markle Jr about an alleged hysterectomy MM had?

OH, what if...

THE MISSING SIGNATURES AREN'T AS BIG A DEAL AS THE MISSING LINES FOR SAID SIGNATURES.

It means everyone flat refused to sign, and they had to make a whole new template and remove the lines so it wasn't so blatantly wrong looking. Don't stop at the signatures. Look deeper.

Trainers on Kamino Idea

So, just a thought, let's say that a Jedi shadow of your choice or creation, even perhaps Obi Wan who in this AU became a shadow at some point, is undercover as a bounty hunter. They wear a mask all the time, completely covered, might even have a little droid that translates their ISL (interplanetary sign language) for those that don't understand it and the droid is, in fact, actually a slicer droid to assist jedi shadow bounty hunter in more than just maintaining their masquerade. They are not portraying a Mandalorian bounty hunter, too much attention from the various Mandalorian factions for that to be a good idea for them. Their get up is as androgynous as possible. This is so the mantle of this particular bounty hunter can be used by virtually any shadow that's reasonably of the same height and can use binding or padding to look like they have the same build for consistency. The name they go by is gender neutral. Since there is generally always a shadow playing this role, this particular hunter gets a really good reputation.

And let's say that Jango, once he's gotten the contract to be the template for the clones and reaches out to get trainers, discovers that some of the trainers he originally wanted are no longer available for whatever reason. So Jango has to go for the next best replacement.

Next best replacement happens to be undercover jedi shadow. Jedi shadow gets a very big "DO THIS" prompt from the Force. Jedi Shadow leaves a message for their handler at a drop point and takes the contract. Jedi Shadow goes to Kamino. Jedi shadow is a decent person and does not like this whole situation. Jedi shadow can't exactly just break out their lightsaber however with famous jedi killer Jango right there and tons of potential hostages. So Jedi shadow does what they can and what they can do includes smuggling out clones that were slated for decommissioning for whatever reason. Rescued clones get sent first to let's say Dantooine for security purposes. Rescued clones get full medical check up. Jedi healers get started on dealing with the accelerated aging and they also find the chips in their heads. It takes maybe a minute for them to remove the chip. Shadows start to investigate the chip. Order 66 is found. Jedi bounty hunter shadow gets their little slicer droid to get all the information the kaminoans have regarding the person who made the order for the clones and the contract and whatever for them.

Clones are "discovered" after the attempted assassination of Padme Amidala and the whole beginning of the separatist mess.

Troopers reunited with the brothers they thought were long gone, brothers who've hardly changed because they've been able to age naturally. Jedi bounty hunter shadow saved at least one baby who turned out to be force sensitive. Rescued baby, who possibly names themselves Sweetheart because that's what a lot of the crechemasters referred to them as and they thought it was actually their name, is an initiate in the temple and a republic citizen for the last however many years after they were rescued from Kamino. All the paperwork is there for Jedi Initiate Sweetheart being a republic citizen. The senate can't take their citizen ship away without taking the Jedi's citizenship away.

Things just got a lot harder for Palpatine and he deserves it.

Do with this as you will. Palpatine dying of an aneurism would be a bonus though.

How easily do mimics scar?

Like in my main au Cirrus's scars are seen as an anomaly as usually it's really hard to scar an engine.

Would mimics be similiar in that they rarely ever scar or would they scar easier like actual organic creatures?

It depends whether they get treatment or not! In the wild, some mimics appoint themselves the position of healer to better help their families deal with situations such as territory disputes, humans encroaching on their nests, and other such things. You know... Circumstances that can turn bloody!

This usually means mixing their magic with natural herbs that they collect.

And domesticated mimics get veterinarian care so, even when magic isn't involved, they at least have a good chance of healing without much noticeable scarring (Ex: Edward only has a slight blemish on his side from the "Exploit Incident" because his handlers immediately got him veterinarian care once they'd reached the station).

If you see a heavily scarred mimic the consensus is that they are either a loner that had no one to tend to their wounds, or they were in a really horrific situation where they were actively denied care.

The stigma is always going to follow them, either way...

#3 (a character trying to find a place in their community)

Ayua is not having the best of times after washing ashore nearly dying but at the very least she has been trying to adapt to her new normal.

Most of the residents of Silgero are already non-dragons but she relates to them easily over being discarded junk abandoned after failing their given purpose and trying to find new ways to keep living.

With most of her mobility being restricted due to the severity of her wounds she keeps mostly to herself, racking her mind over how to contribute and give back to this odd lair that has welcomed and healed her seemingly inconditionally. She cannot hunt nor fight for them, they don't seem to need it, she is grateful nonetheless to be given a place to stay even if she feels useless and tired in the meanwhile.

Yeah that's gotta be Baruz. Imagine being born just to be pretty and do nothing, only to be forced to get a medical degree lmao. couldnt be me.

But really, that's very much what happened. Baruz was constructed to be a mere display model. His scales and wings a faux and decorated exterior that belied nothing underneath, no thoughts nor goals, not even the mental capacity to understand his owner aside of predetermined expressions and movements. Just a mere doll that exemplified how complex and life-like in design a construct could be, aesthetically, that is.

Long after he stopped pulling eyes upon himself he was simply discarded like many befor him as a newer and more intricate model took his place with him being none-the-wiser.

After being taken care of by Allora and Onn eventually, he was given a new purpose to follow: to be a healer construct, make use of his given limbs and growing mind to learn to take care of the wounded.

It didn't become apparent at first but Baruz would grow to hate the directive he was made to follow. He was always being given orders now and while he could bear the thought to retort or bite back against his handlers, he simply continued on with his learning. Growing bitter as the time passed but no longer at Allora or Onn or even other fellow constructs, but at himself, for not having the guts nor capability to grow beyond this meaningless goal he was forced upon under the perception of being useless to begin with.

He wants to do something different, grow like the other construct have grown around him but doesn't believe to have the power to decide that. It was so easy to give him a new purpose once, what is to say it won't happen again? that no matter how much he tried to drift from one thing, he will be forced upon another...

The overnight footage from Alex’s cell – and the whole block – has been deleted.

“System update fucked up the datetime on the cameras,” Peterson claims. “The rolling store got cleared early. Nothing I can do.”

It's absolute bullshit of course. Nowhere else in the facility was affected. But Peterson isn’t budging, and if the footage is somehow hidden rather than deleted outright, Ari doesn’t have the tech know how to find it.

She files an incident report for misuse of electronic resources. But unless Peterson's pulled this shit before she knows he won't get more than a slap on the wrist. Even if they don't swallow his “system update” story, he’ll say it was just a fuck-up and they’ll believe that.

She only has three suspects. She can't imagine any of those creeps putting a stooge up to it – there’s no way they’d miss out on the personal satisfaction.

So Ari spends about an hour – in between monitoring the live feeds and answering calls – trawling the recording from the closest untouched cameras, taking note of who enters and leaves the dead zone and when. Going by the blood on the floor this morning, the incident probably happened earlier in the night rather than later, but that’s not a lot to narrow it down by.

Unfortunately it turns out Frazier and Henson were both working last night. It shouldn’t be surprising, they probably talked each other into this petty little show of spite. Ari’s reminded of the time Riven spent a month stealing the ink out of one of the printers just to get under that one analyst’s skin.

She files another report, this one against Frazier. He's not supposed to have access to the healers anymore. But this isn't the first time she’s reported the same damn thing. They'll revoke his clearance, again, and in a few weeks he'll find another excuse to get someone to reinstate it. Probably Peterson again, the little rat bastard.

Probably not Peterson, she doesn't actually think he has that authority. It's just easy to be angry at his stupid smarmy face right now.

Frazier or Henson. 50-50 odds, but if she confronts the wrong one, she’ll look like an idiot. Better to be sure.

She might be able to get the answer out of Riven, he does like to run his mouth. But not today, because Frazier and Henson will still be asleep at home and they probably won’t have filled Riven in on their little ”prank” yet.

Back to Plan A, then.

She takes the time to pick up a plate of cafeteria food for Alex's afternoon meal. It'll be lukewarm by the time she gets it down to the cells, but it’s still better than his usual fare.

She hears the healer jump at the sound of the door. Sounds like he knocked a knee or elbow against the wall or floor. Hopefully not his head. He’s scrambling to get on his knees as she lets herself in.

He’d gotten less scared about that. Ariadne’s never punished him for being slow to get up, or even for skipping the formalities. But it’s no surprise he’s more hasty again with fresh stripes as a painful reminder of proper discipline.

Even though it wasn’t discipline.

“Easy,” she greets him, “it’s just your dinner.” She’s pleased to see his eyes widen with anticipation as he sees what she has for him. He’s not so miserable that he can’t be happy about a decent meal.

He reaches for his hot water first, like always. If she can convince them to change one thing about standard protocol it should be that – or turning the thermostat for the cells up. More heat getting into the healers, one way or another.

She forgot to pick up his sweater from the corner of his cell this morning. She was going to get rid of it, but Alex has struggled back into it despite the dried blood and the rents in the back and despite how much it must have pulled his back getting it on. Ariadne ought to take it off him – it’s going to start stinking soon – but she can’t quite bring herself to. Not while he’s eating.

It was only a couple of months ago she had to hold every bite to his mouth. He’d twitch at everything she said, and he could barely get a flicker of magic out without flinching and choking on fear. He’s doing so well for her. All it took was a bit of a gentler touch.

“I need to know which of them came in here and whipped you.” Terror is immediately stark in his eyes. “I won’t tell them you told me. I’ll tell them I got it out of security, okay? But I need to know. So that I can keep it from happening again.”

He doesn’t trust her. She sees it in his eyes. He doesn’t believe she has any interest in stopping them. Frustration itches, but she pushes it down. It’s a lot more to ask of him than trusting her to let him shower without raping him. He’s still doing well.

“This isn’t negotiable,” she prompts. It only takes the faintest hint of steel to make him flinch. “I’m s-s-sorry –” “I know. I’m not mad – not at you. But I need to know.”

He shrinks in on himself. Patience, Ari cautions herself. Her steady attention and expectation is enough. He’s just scared.

“N-Neil,” he whispers eventually. “I-I mean, F-Frazier, sir.” “Okay,” Ariadne agrees levelly, “Good. Well done.”

She makes herself take a deep breath and turn away from Alex so that he knows it’s not directed at him before she lets herself exhale anger.

“Jealous fucking creep. What a petty, insecure dipshit of a guy.” Alex looks shocked. But there’s something else too, something that could be appreciation or even humour just about edging out the fear. “I’d kick his teeth in if I had the chance,” Ariadne confides with a hint of a hard, conspiratorial smirk. Alex almost, almost smiles back. “I’d…” he starts, but he doesn’t finish the thought.

Ari grins at him anyway, just for a second before she turns serious again. “I will not be telling him that you told me,” she promises, “so don’t you go fessing up, okay? They don’t record audio from these cells, so it’s between you and me.”

The healer looks nervous, but he nods his head. “Okay, sir.”

She’s about to leave him when she remembers about the sweater. It's probably unsalvageable, but…

She crouches beside him and takes the hem to get a better look. As she thought, the blood’s the least of the damage. The fabric is practically shredded, not worth mending even if she was inclined to, which she isn't. Darning a healer's clothes would be ridiculous.

“I’m – sorry sir.” Alex’s voice is suddenly choked, giving away the tears in his eyes. “I – I didn’t have time t-to take it off…” “Hey. It’s okay.” “I would’ve – I d-didn’t want to ruin it but he didn’t –” “It’s not your fault. Hey, listen to me. I’ll get you a new one. It’s no big deal.” His throat bobs as he tries to swallow his tears. “Thank you, sir,” he manages. “I’ll get you a new one,” Ari repeats. “It’s okay.”

She can’t even pat his shoulder. Fucking dipshit Neil. She pats the healer's head instead. His curls are starting to grow in again. He sniffs, and wipes his nose on the back of his hand.

When she leaves, Ari’s careful to close the door softly. She changes the code on the lock again. Frazier’s clearly getting his buddies in security to sort it for him, but it’ll slow him down. It’s an obstacle in his way. And if he’s going to be fucking petty, two can play at that game.

Finding Frazier's shift pattern is a little more work than finding Henson’s. He's on nights all week, so Ariadne could catch him tonight by staying late. She doesn't much feel like rising to the bait though, not when she has nothing to use against him and it'd only be giving him the opportunity to gloat.

Before she goes home, she spends another while crawling the security feeds, trying to figure out the options that she doesn't usually have any reason to use.

If she knew how to have the cell footage make a second copy of itself or something, somewhere those assholes couldn't wipe it… but it would probably be an infosec breach if she did.

She'll find something. Frazier clearly doesn't realize what thin ice he's on after the last round of allegations. He doesn't get to mess with Ari's healer.

Thanks to a guide made in the Veilguard modding discord, I can finally have my dream of having a short qunari.

Rosie Thorne; a grey warden mage. She basically has a form of qunari dwarfism. I headcanon her to be a spirit healer and she’s always been sensitive to spirits. She was born in qunari lands and with her spirit sensitivity and magic triggering at a semi early age, she was bound like most saarabas.

Her handler eventually went tal-vashoth and forced her to come along. The group she was with got ambushed by darkspawn and she was the only survivor but got infected. Thankfully some wardens in the area found her, including a vashoth warden, and saved her with the joining.

The vashoth warden is named Warden Amleth Thorne and he had actually been raised by the Avaar as an orphan and since he became her mentor she adopted his surname. She was named Rosie for her eyes, blushy cheeks, and her sense of optimism.

She was able to train and practice magic with the wardens now which is how she learned her healing magic (though she’s still a powerhouse from her qunari training).

She was shy at first but really came out of her shell and now is quite mischievous.

She really loves the story of the griffons and got wings tattooed on her arms. She’ll be over the moon when she meets Assan.

Thanks to her dwarfism, she has to deal with people constantly asking her “I thought all qunari were tall” and/or people mistaking her for a child.

She has dark sclera because I’m a DA2 dark sclera qunari truther. Wish they also had their metallic/iridescent skin still too, alas.

She’s going to romance Emmrich because I’m weak.
