i like to think if annabeth and percy ended up living around mortals they would tell their friends abt some of the stuff they went through bc they can’t really hide it forever except they make it sound like their family’s part of the greek mafia

a lot of “yeah my dads…influential…in greece”

or “my moms,,pretty powerful in greece,, yeah she’s up there lol..anyway”

like they make it sound like maybe poseidon and athena are two “business CEO’s” who butt heads but everyone thinks their two mafia leaders who hate eachother

annabeth slips up and brings up the 7 months percy was missing and they have to cover it up saying his aunt, on his dads side, sent him away to a boarding school in greece where he wasn’t able to contact anyone here in america

it doesn’t help that their friends can hear them hiss in greek to each other when they don’t want them to know what their saying

or when their stretching in a certain way that makes their shirt ride up and there are obvious scars hidden underneath

just had the biggest revelation that when the oracle prophesized "to storm or fire, the world must fall". the weight of this line equally distributed across the four boys. because frank's lifeline was tied to a stick that if burned to ashes would kill him. because percy, son of the stormbringer, nearly ended his life by willingly suffocating in poison. because leo, pyrokenetic, sacrificed himself and paid for it with his life to fulfill the prophecy. because jason, son of jupiter (god of the sky, thunder, lightning, etc), died in place of leo upon his resurrection. what a truly haunting cruel twist of fate.

i always thought poseidon suddenly being besties with percy had a large part in the fact that percy had just a seething anger towards poseidon in the first book and once the gods realised what was happening with luke they were like “oh shit” bc you have a hermes kid turn to the dark side ehhh that can maybe be dealt with

but a child of the big 3?? nah it’s over

so they kinda sent poseidon to curve that whole thing but percy took that shit and RAN with it

he saw that poseidon could do it and said “ok so if you can everyone else can too! cool so where’s the reparations🤨” and in the end he’s solidly grown himself in like a weed with the gods like he’s this little whispering voice in the back of the gods heads and it’s so funny

did the show just delete the fact that percy was a wanted criminal in the entirety of the lightning thief? gabe gave an interview, blaming percy for sally's dissappearence, which made him the primary suspect. like the police was after him when they blew up the bus and his iconic 'my stepdad is a really sweet person' speech to a journalist after jumping from saint monica arc, people conspiring that they were manipulated into a t*rrorist group after his fight with ares. like????? where's all that?? where's the good stuff???

i love how different percabeth is from different male lead narrated american middle school romances from the romantic point of view. usually, the male lead has a crush on the cold and kind of mean female protagonist cause she's pretty and not like the other girls.....she's pretty and not like the other girls....thats it oops. but annabeth and percy. annabeth fell first. even though she's cold and sassy too, she believed in percy. she saw the good in him and loved him for it. then percy fell. he didnt have to worry about whether annabeth would like a loser like him. yeah, he doubted why annabeth liked him once in a while, but it was a never a question of 'does she?' its healthy. and thats what makes rick riordan one of the best middle school authors ever thank you bye

hilarious how we can immediately tell where new readers are in the series just based on vibes alone. feeling immense rage and wanting to throw your book across the room because these two love sick idiots need to get together all ready? you're in the latter half of book four. violently sobbing on the ground because you never would have thought that one of the kindest people in the series would be the inside man? you're reading book five. resisting the urge to scream at the audacity of the author to laugh in the face of your deep-rooted despair? you just finished book three of the sequel series.
