Literally where do people get the idea that Jason was full of himself and that he thought he was better than Percy? This is legit brought up in so many 'why-i-hate-jason-grace" arguments it just screams lack of reading comprehension and obvious Percy bias saltiness. Like just say you are bitter that Jason is written as percy's equal and that you want Percy to have nobody rival him 💀

Never once in his povs did he ever think about how much better he was, on the contrary it's just him not feeling good enough about himself. He and Percy NEVER said anything bad about eachother.

His and Percy's rival is just a joke between two powerful demigods who have rival dads, that's literally it. Even if Jason did indeed think he's better, so what about it? What's the big deal?

he has worked hard and accomplished great things, so he has like, every right to be confident in his power, stop acting like hes all weak and inferior when he canonically killed a titan with like his bare fucking hands till the point Krios swore vengeance on him. No he's not "weak" or morally inferior to Percy as a person. You are merely trying to cope. Not to mention the way people judge a character's worth SOLEY based on their abilities is a huge red flag in itself, but that's a discussion for another time.

he shouldve canonically had more achievments and power than he originally got in the books as a son of jupiter. but rick made Percy too OP and fumbled jason for the sake of keeping percy's spotlight intact. Has it ever dawned on people that Percy is shown to have cool abilities like bending tears but Jason is never shown to have abilities like controlling lungs? Yeah, that's authors privilege for ya.

Y'all put Percy in an obnoxiously high pedestal and that's not a good thing. It diminishes his flaws and makes him appear so saint like and Gary Stu even though he's not. the fact that ppl get so sensitive over their rivalry and try to belittle jason by making up scenarios (like claiming jason thinks he's superior and shit) and go around saying that to ppl to reduce his value DESPITE being well aware that he has like enough hate already, is so insanely petty. BOTH Jason and Percy deserve equal amounts of respect.

God forbid a teenage boy say he's better than the other as a joke, he's such a terrible, stuck up, and shitty person who deserved death for that, isn't he?

[Wakes up] Hey, do you ever think about Handsome Jack and wonder if he ever felt jealous of his doppelgangers ? I think he did. I think sometimes he would look out to see someone who looks and acts so much like him, someone meant to be an exact copy of the man he presents himself as, but they just Feel better. Not that they are better; no one could ever beat the real deal, after all, but something about their performance sets them aside from him, and it bothers him a lot. Because they are different people with different experiences, maybe it impacts how they perceive certain actions and niceties, and maybe that means they're just a little bit better at some things than he is, but he can't for the life of him figure out what it is. Kindness seems to come to so many of them so easily, the kind of charitability that a superhero has while saving the day, and he yearns to be able to do that as effortlessly as they do, but it just doesn't come naturally to him. He has to really try to be kind like that, and it drives him mad how hard it is. It makes sense on paper and it makes sense if he logics it out, but actually going through with it is too difficult. He's stuck in place because he's missing the one component he needs to finish a transaction and it frustrates him to no end. Handsome Jack looks at his doppelgangers who pretend to be him and thinks, for an agonizing second, wounding his ego in the process, "Why can't that be me. They are already pretending to be me, but they're not, they're like a better version of a man I already am". And then he tries not to think about it as hard as he physically can. But sometimes it lingers. Sometimes, he wonders if maybe the issue isn't with them being better; it's with him. He is a prototype to be improved on, while they're the shiny new models ready to go out and do things. But he doesn't want to be like that ! He can't be ! He's the main attraction, he's what's being sold here, so he can't possibly need improvement. Sure, he's jealous of how easily it seems for these people to slip into his own skin and personality without having to go through the agony it took for him to mold it, and he hates how it seems like people enjoy having conversations with them more than they do with Him, The Real Guy, but surely. Surely. SURELY it's nothing to be examined. He doesn't need to look into it that much. He's fine. Everything is fine. Anyway,

So...Okarun definitely has Thoughts about the Ayase family dynamic, right?

Every time I see Momo and Seiko interacting in the show, I can't help but wonder what's going on inside Okarun's head. Like, he heard Momo gassing her up when they first met and talking about how much she regrets her past actions while they were ghost/alien hunting--but then the first time he sees them together they constantly fight and call each other stupid/hag.

Whatever you think his home situation is, he has to find the dissonance between Momo's words to him and actions to her grandmother strange, and maybe even concerning. He probably hasn't said anything because:

He's an awkward fellow, after all.

He does see the moments where they stop pretending to hate each other.

But he definitely notices that things are strange; probably has already come to the conclusion that their current behavior stems from Momo's temper tantrum and years-long silent treatment. And the fact that both Ayase women seem to be allergic to talking about their feelings or apologizing.

So what if one day...he decides to meddle?

He definitely thinks it's not his place to do so, but at the same time he is falling madly in love with this girl. And her grandmother has accepted him into her home, feeds him, helped them both with their paranormal problems, and given him the first place that he feels he belongs in. He feels like he owes it to them to at least facilitate a better understanding between them. They both saved him--keep saving him--and he wants to at least save them from feeling like the only way they can communicate is with insults and bringing up the past.

However, doing something about a rocky relationship without making it worse is even harder than it sounds, and Okarun isn't exactly swimming in interpersonal relationship experience. He hasn't figured out what to do, and the only thing he has decided for sure is that he can't rely on their other friends for this task. They mean well, and most of them have more experience with making up with people than he does, but he thinks that they are a bit clumsy for something so delicate. So for now, he just tries to keep them closer together and distract Ayase-san when she gets a bit too vitriolic.

Meanwhile: Seiko and Momo are extremely grateful for the craziness of the last few months bringing them closer together than they've been in literal years, and have no interest in rocking the boat and upending all the progress they've made--even if they think things could improve more quickly.

Also they are a bit confused why four-eyes recently prefers to quietly hang out with Momo in the living room while Seiko watches her shows instead of letting her drag him up to her room like usual.

Hating on TCW because Anakin is 'too suave'? Eh, while I can see where people are coming from, Anakin's characterisation isn't limited to AotC, and his 'suave' qualities are already extant in the original Prequels-era material, such as in TPM's Litle Ani and in descriptions of Anakin in RotS novelization (for more on this, see here and here).

Dick. For the canon isn't real square I am Specifically talking about the Tom Taylor Nightwing run. Usually I ignore bad runs but given this one is ongoing (though about to end THANK GOD and get replaced by Dan Watters who i have high hopes for since i adored his Sword of Azrael (2022) run but i digress) so I counted it. Especially since it's so debated if that run is bad or not, for some reason. I'm a 90s Nightwing truther. I love Dick so dearly and tbh recently I've been more enamored with him the more I read his Discowing era, I didn't used to be as big of a Dick stan as I am these days.

Bruce. Honestly where do you even start with Bruce. I want to fist fight him and also patch him up. He got me into comics and superheroes as a whole but I roll my eyes whenever he shows up in a story. He's a bastard and usually not a good father but also complex and should be dissected under a magnifying glass. I love him dearly. He's also just the worst. I think that's why I love him. I'm always a fan of unabashedly Complicated Asshole Bruce who's generally not always the best person, particularly not to the Batfamily and that being the driving force of his relationships with them, especially in shipping.

And for bonus points, Tim. Because know above all else, I'm a Tim Drake kinnie /deg. He's been my number one for a decade and I've yet to uproot him from my brain. He's literally the Worst half the time and I love him for it. And the canon isn't real refers to Tim Drake: Robin because... that sure was a comic. And that's about all I can say about it. Pre-Flashpoint Tim I miss you so dearly. I think it's fun that I want to put him in a blender and drink the juice but also want Nothing Ever to happen to him.

People's reaction to Maya absolutely reeks of misogyny. And a refusal to engage with the fact her behavior is absolutely a result of the ways that able-bodied people treat disabled people. Which is absolutely wild for a show centered around the fact that what drew one of the MLs to the other is that he was one of the only people that treated him like a whole person instead of someone to be pitied, infantilized and made a spectacle of because of their disability. Like it's made very clear that ableism from others is a near constant and that a lot of people interact with you not because they actually want to know you as a person but because they want to feel good about themselves for being nice to the "poor helpless disabled person" The girl that told Kohei carrying the trash must be too difficult for him because he can't hear, the guys that let him score a basket because it would've been "pitiful" to defend against him, Yoko's cousin and her weird romance fantasy etc etc.

So Maya, as a disabled person who also deals with that bs on the daily, being stand-offish and critical or suspicious of an able-bodied man? Makes sense actually. Right now her character is there as conflict between the characters, it makes sense to not like her but hop off of all that "uwu this character is perfect sunshine baby and anyone who is mean or critical of them is a heartless bitch" bullshit
