The main reason why you haven't heard much about the AvA Cartoon Villain verse is that I'm horrible at actually updating any of my AUs here on Tumblr

But you've handed me a perfect opportunity to info dump and info dump I shall

Okay so, as a recap, the Cartoon Villain verse (aka the CV!verse) is an AU I created back before the start of AvM season 3 started where I wanted to be incredibly self-indulgent about the possibility of the Dark Lord ever returning so me and a couple of others on the Enthusiasts server started listing off funny saturday morning cartoon villain tropes we liked. And lo and behold, the CV!verse was created

As it stands now, the CV!verse is an AU where after the events of Showdown, Dark wakes up from being blasted into the side of the mountain and literally stumbles his way onto Purple's MAC. At this point, Purple has already made up with their villagers and is back being their king. So when Dark arrives, he sees Purple wearing a crown, decks them in the face, declares himself ruler of the castle, and them promptly passes tf out.

Purple in their utter confusion, takes Dark back to the castle and nurses him back to health. As thanks, Dark offers Purple a job as his henchman, and Purple is so amused (and quite literally has nothing better to do) agrees.

So now they're a Villain and Henchman duo who's goal is to take over Alan Becker's PC and the Color Gang (also known as the Color Lames, Dark's nickname for them) has to stop them. Additionally, despite this being created before AvM s3, I still have incorporated some elements, particularly the characters, from that season. Although, nothing is canon past AvM Lucky Blocks and that includes the current AvA arc with Victim.

Essentially, I've taken these sticks and I'm playing around with them like dolls. Some characters I've changed in terms of backstory pretty drastically because it fits in better with the AU and frankly, its funnier.

Also because of the cartoon influences, I like imagining the AU takes place in like episodic seasons.

So Season 1 would be where Chosen (whose been going around the Interweb as a Virus Hunter) ended up back on Alan's PC and after finding out Dark is still alive, agrees to mentor Second. Dark is absolutely THRILLED that Chosen is back because that means he can have his nemesis back (and he does genuinely miss him but he'll never admit it). The season would be about introducing the characters with the overarching plot being the struggle of accepting change and whether or not it's okay to accept a role that was placed upon you.

Season 2 is where we meet Victim/Vic (also known as L!Vic whose is based off of @iluvylalevu Victim) who at the end of the season is revealed to be an Alternate Dimensional Traveler. So he's not this AU's Victim. Vic ends up joining Dark and Purple on their adventures because tbh, their shenanigans are a lot of fun and he looooove silly stuff. This season is also where we're introduced to King MT, a evil genius inventor in the field of robotics (who is also very divorced and sometimes Gold will stop by to help out). King doesn't actually appear (aside from a few mentions) until the end of the season. This season would focus on expanding the world of the AU, going over some sticks new backstories (Purple's parents are still alive and the family is not broken!!) while the overarching plot would be dealing with the feelings of not belonging and of being replaced.

Season 3 is where we get into dabbling with Alternate Universe stuff. Because at the end of Season 2, Vic goes back to his own universe and that inspires Dark to start looking into how to travel into other universe. Due to this tampering with reality, a new character appears on Alan's PC who happens to be a ghost stick figure named "Shade". So while Dark is doing AU theory, the Color Gang is looking for clues as to who "Shade" is and why xir bound to the desktop. By the end of the season, Dark figures out dimensional travel and its revealed that "Shade" is this AU's version of Victim who at remembering xir past, pulls an "Aggie Prenderghast from Paranorman" and starts destroying the desktop. Dark, Purple, the Color Gang, and Chosen have to escape into L!Vic's dimension to avoid the fallout. This season's main theme is the yearning for something new and the grief of the past.

Season 4, the group heads back and through the power of friendship (and promises of forgiveness and second chances), they manage to calm Victim down, who decides xe like the name Shade better. And honestly, that's as far as I got. This would also be the point where CV!Dark starts visiting other AvA AUs for fun (like how the CV!Trio visited my AvA Mafia AU ^^)

But yeah, that's about it. An overview of the AU!

Honestly, if anyone wants I'd be more than happy to info dump about any specific things about the AU. Like characters, character relationships, any episode ideas. That kinda stuff

Sims 2 Mew Ichigo Set

This project stretched my rudimentary meshing skills... anyway it's not perfect but overall I'm satisfied with it.

Anyway. It's an outfit, hair, and accessories for Ichigo Momomiya/Mew Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew. (No, I totally haven't been watching the remake, why do you ask?) I'm hoping to create stuff for the rest of the gang but it might take a while (and I have a feeling Pudding might be the last...) First I want to list what I pilfered each of the mesh pieces from:

The top is from the base game, using the texture for Bella's outfit.

The skirt, garters, choker, and tail are from f-louri's Mew Ichigo MikuMikuDance (MMD) model, found here.

The ears... I have no idea where they're from. I took them from a Mew Ichigo MMD model I made in like 2013, but since it's been over a decade and I've been out of the MMD scene for nearly that long, I don't remember where I got them.

The boots are Jacci boots.

Now for the separate pieces:

Outfit: TF-AF, all morphs, comes in the single swatch. Includes dress, boots, garters, and choker (didn't feel like separating them into BV jewelry). Categorized as everyday, formal, gym, and outerwear.

Tail: TF-AF, found in accessories, shows up on everyday/formal/gym/outerwear. *While it looked fine in CAS and when I created it, the bow likes to slip under the tail in Live Mode. I don't know how to fix that.

Ears: PU-EU, found in accessories, shows up on everyday/formal/gym/outerwear. Is around 10k poly, so on the high side for accessories. The ears are on the large side, mostly so I can cover the human ears (a pet peeve of mine is catgirls with two sets of ears). I recommend using a voluminous hair with these.

Peggy Fh080129: PF-EF, comes in three shades of pink (Pooklet's Tetryl, Thorium, and Pentolite) with Afterglow textures and red ribbons. (This is supposed to be her 'civilian' hair). I didn't do the naturals since Katsurin has already done them here. Mesh is included.

Newsea The Moment: PF-EF. I used io's mesh edit and age conversion for this one. I also did the Afterglow naturals as well as the three shades of pink. This is the hair pictured in the preview.

keep note of your favorite usopp artists and determine the route you wanna go in, cartoony, realistic, 2000s style, play around with facial expressions . draw him from memory and then do a side by side ref of your favorite image of him

i think the eyes look good but it depends what you want him to look like , might be throwing you off that usopp has small pupils, try and see how he looks like w/ that

what I think is great about usopp design is that it lets you have fun he’s a really shape-y character I can make his curls just bumps or I can make it sharp and zig saggy, idk if that make sense😭😭

Hi! Sorry it's taken so long to get around to your ask, life has been- well it's been life.

1. We don't really do anything for valentine's day. It was an early understanding we had, that we don't really need a particular day to make a fuss of each other. That's not to throw shade on other people who do celebrate it, but it's not for us.

2. Chocolate raisins, hands down. Sadly I haven't had any for years as I'll gladly demolish a kilo of the delicious bastards in a single sitting.

3. I take this to mean stuff I got up to before Haitch and I married and had kids. I've been trying to wrack my brains for stuff so here's the best I've got:

Once caused a fight between my friend's dad and the father of some Dutch kids at a campsite in France. We'd had a few run-ins with them previously, very childish stuff, but it all came to a head when I caught some of them throwing rocks at a goat (the campsite was on a farmer's land). I may have beaten them with a stick for it.

Another time some friends and I, while very drunk, lifted and carried another friend's Ford Focus from its original parking space to another parking space some distance away. We used to pile into that car, all seven of us: four in the back (smallest sat on a lap), two in front, and the seventh in the boot. It was inadvisable.

In a plot that took several months, on the last day of highschool my friends and I trashed the school's IT system: we changed passwords, backlogged the print server with Wikipedia articles on cheese making and the history of catholicism, printed fake signage and posted it around the school. I might tell the full story at some point, although there wasn't a huge amount to it. Our head of IT wasn't very bright, but he was also a prick so fuck him.

I've been searched by the police several times and only once was it justified.

Not sure what else. At one point there was a lot of alcohol and psychedelics in my life, and some very inadvisable behaviour, but none of it really stands out.

4. That's very sweet, but also part of what makes me nervous about gift giving. I never want people to feel obligated to reciprocate, so I often don't get people things which can make me seem cold and stand-offish. The wonders of social anxiety.

oh brother, I don't know if you are in the right place to ask for any advice because I SUCK at it but I'm gonna try

Gotta be honest, I still barely understand shading and lighting, I go ahead and expect everything to turn out okay like 99% of stuff in my life, I think when you get the hang of art you can do things blindly more frecuently.

What I find pretty useful it's not tutorials per se but speedpaints or real time drawing, if you observe a professional doing their stuff and learn the basic of the program you can get an idea of whatever the hell they are doing. Looking at pretty art and analyzing the light and trying to figure out how the artist does something is also something that has worked for me pretty well, I'm gonna divide you my specifics:

TUTORIALS

I know you haven't found any good tutorials but youtube is very big and you can find some really good ones. I have lately been watching this channel, this guy even gives you the PSD files.

Marc Brunet also has some really cool ones, not all of them are super specific but he's pretty good.

Aaron Blaise has a very professional undesrtanding of light and shadow.

REFERENCES

Use references! Pinterest has a lot of cool photos with pretty lighting, just search "lighting and shadow" "photo with lighting", stuff like that. References are very important, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

For the next tutorial below I used this for example:

PATIENCE

Let's be real, the art journy needs a lot of patience. I have been drawing digitally for 9 years and it's just now when I'm seeing results I'm happy with. I look at art from just one year ago and I go "EEEW"

I think hyperfixating on something helps a lot, doing fanart is important like I wouldn't be as good as I am (right now) if it wasn't for doing TDP fanart. Ovbiously other things count since all drawings help you improve but I think you probably get my point, basically, get obsessed with something lol if you don't get a certain obsession just find something you enjoy drawing, I honestly can't draw stuff that don't give me joy (for free at least)

PERFECCIONISM

Something that I have discovered along the way is that perfeccionism in your art will restrain you a LOT. Sometimes you don't need a super accurate light and shadow for the drawing to look okay, ovbiously if you are aiming for full realism then yeah but overall? If it looks right it's probably right, trust your instincts

Maybe in a couple of years you will look at a certain piece and go "why tf did I do this??" but that's part of learning. The next tutorial isn't accurate at all but I had fun and I think it looks pretty enough.

Of course, the technique might vary from drawing to drawing, with my most recent Pyrrah art I just coloured the lineart for example, I later used said filters. Don't be afraid to experiment, art is about experimenting, the tools from your program also there for you to use.

I know it may seem difficult at first but you will eventually figure things out, study and practice a lot and you will get there.

as for character reasons as to ship dirkhal i def have a lot :] im kinda playing fast and loose with the term ship bc they rlly have a complicated thing going on. i use ship because its mainly because of the extreme intimacy of knowing almost everything another person's thinking as well as their insecurities and vulnerabilities. but also because of the divergences and misunderstandings only being so confident in knowing the other guy can bring.

hal wants dirk to trust him, dirk hates being reminded of himself every time he looks at hal. dirk cant see the differences in hal because he hypocritically only sees himself (after saying that they're different guys and recognizing hal's emotions) and hal refuses to give himself a break in accepting that he is infact a different guy and not an unfeeling robot. seeing how they dance around each other is frustrating to watch but also verrrry much the appeal.

because dirk's self loathing/disgust makes him unable to go to others for help, hal ends up becoming his help. but dirk also hates who is helping him (who he thinks he sees) and withdraws from that. hal is entirely dependent on dirk and wants to make his life easier on himself (and does lowkey care abt him). he doesnt project his own self loathing on dirk, just his trepidation on how he's treated him. he bottles up his own emotion's and lets its miasma leak out in every snarky "well im shades" comment he makes. hal would genuinely help dirk out, but he pushes buttons cause he's so worn out and wary of dirk's antics, causing dirk to withdraw faster than touching a hand to a flame. just awesome guys im gonna tear my hair out.

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to study tf out of art styles you like, bc that's exactly what I did with TGS. The amount of pages I just stared at and tried to lowkey memorize is ungodly, and once I started drawing the characters and trying to emulate sage's style, I kinda just kept getting better from there. My ability to draw poses and full body stuff also got exponentially better VERY quickly, TGS is just magic like that, I swear.

Also, for eyes specifically, referencing each characters eyes and testing different expressions is kinda the way to go. I use my physical copy of Vol 1 a LOT for referencing (especially for Hyde and Lanyon)

Also, just drawing headshots of the characters over and over helps too, especially in pen! I have literal DOZENS of random 5- 10 minute pen doodles. The nice thing about the pen stuff is that, yeah, youll mess up a lot and not be super satisfied with most of them, but it forces you to be a bit more careful about how you place things and steadier with you hand, at least in my experience.

See? Most of them really suck, but they made me pay a lot more attention to what I was doing and what I wanted to do. It also helped me grasp quirks of the characters and drawing expressions a lot better. Plus, this isn't even all of them, I've got a bunch more in a little envelope I made.

Also, looking on Pinterest for pose references probably would also help, or taking pics of yourself for reference, but I'm built different (stubborn and lazy) so I rawdog my anatomy and poses 🗣️🗣️

Otherwise, I can also give a little doodle example with Whole Jekyll on how I currently draw in pencil and such :3

Start with circle, then give it a nice center line and chin

Then I throw in the neck and shoulders (which tend to change a decent bit bc anatomy is hard), the eye line, which goes through the middle of the circle, and then I like to do a line down the chest to figure out which way I want him pointing, since he's at a tilt. I also change this quite often, along with where I want the face pointing lmao. Once I've figured out direction, I draw the nose starting at the bottom of the circle and up to the eye line. I also then draw the top of the eyes first. The eye line (and apparently the center line 💀) is of course a suggestion, and I tend to mess around with the eye shape until it looks mostly right.

Then the bottoms of the eyes and the pupils get thrown in, which I have to redraw pretty often to try and make them match better. I also usually leave the eyes blank bc I'm lazy af and can't draw pupils too well, I will shade them tho and that makes them look better.

Then bbg gets ears (which I usually start around the corners of the eyes and go down to just above the little curve of the jaw), eyebrows (also just mess around with these til they look right) and a mouth (I HATE drawing mouths 😋😋), then they get their hair (also have to redraw a bunch)

Also, to show Whole Jekylls other eye, I pinned his hair back, so there's a treat, Whole Jekyll enjoyers <3 bbg can fully see 😍 (Mind Lanyon probably forced him too)

Then I shade his eyes, give him clothes and fix up any quick things that were bothering me (in this his nose) and go back with the edge of a rectangle eraser and get those guidelines and extra lines out (sometimes they're still a little visible, but maybe just don't draw them as heavy handed as I do 💀) and Bada Bing Bada boom! Doodle done :3 of course its not the best, but it doesn't have to be, thats the joy of doodles

On Alastor's sexuality:

Ok so a thread I NEVER thought I'd have to make, but shit's getting out of hand and I am a little bit annoyed now.

For the longest time, I've defended Alastor ships because I really don't have a problem with random fanart/fics, regular fandom stuff...

But it's getting ridiculous, the latest post I've seen is headcanoning Alastor to be "bi-romantic", ofc getting rly defenssive if someone just says ANYTHING else.

The 'hypersexualization' of his character doesn't lay in him being portrayed in very sexy fanart or fics. It's the fact everyone's using Alastor for claiming their sexuality to be more valid, straight up jumping over his entire character. He is a beautifully written complex morally gray character and ppl only seek to see "wELL wHaT hIS seXuAL pREfErEncE iS", is it really that important???

Even if he's not confirmed aro, he is still asexual and just slamming any other title before ace to make him into your sexuality and then gripping onto it so effin hard is childish.

And you can't even make the argument of his sexuality actually being somewhat important to his character (like how for exemple, Vox being bisexual and having internilized homophobia is important to his actions and relations to others in the show, or how Angel being hypersexual is important part of his story with sex-work industry - I know hypersexuality is not a sexuality, but here too the "sexual" identity/part of a character is valid to include in understanding their psychology, do you see where I'm going?)

In regards to Alastor, nothing of sexual nature is really important to his role in the story. I don't mind anyone having fun and making any type of story they like, I do not think that is 'erasing the rep' because the ace-spectrum in itself is a spectrum and is very different for anyone, and everyone is valid.

What is erasing the rep is just making "headcanons" of his sexuality based on your own to make you feel better that you portray as factual. The reason I always say I don't mind is bcs I say the 'fun' doesn't change the show's flow. But some ppl actually do want that to happen, which is not okay.

You can't make an artist change their oc to fit your own standards. At that point, you're self-inserting.

Ppl are being as disrespectful to even harrass the VA into making a statement to explain to y'all that it ain't happening nothing will be canon and chill tf out. And then they still make the "ok no sex scene but there will be romance we have 2 more seasons to go!"

Did everyone forget Vivzie confirming Alastor will be single throughout the series after pilot or???

Not everything needs to have romance and sex in it..I understand these are important factors for ppl in general which is why I encourage everyone to make their own story, that way you have full freedom of expression to say it the way you want it to be. But expecting the show itself to change into your secific place on the ace-spectrum is just very distastefull.

Not to mention this is done only for the characters with no precisely defined sexualities, but mostly Alastor. Imagine someone going "you can't tell me Angel isn't bisexual. Look at the way he looks at Vaggie in this screenshot!" everyone would loose their shit. But for Lucifer, who is still unclearly straight/pan/bi or Alastor who is ace, ppl go "OMG AN EMPTY SPACE! OPPORTUNITY TO SELF-INSERT!" Stop. Again, how is this important to the story..

No shade to any RadioApple, RadioDust, StaticRadio, whateverRadio shippers. I myself find some of the fanart cute and I understand. But please don't try to force the idea of a non-canon dynamic you like onto every ace person irl and the show itself. That is very stupid. Make a fanfic, enjoy the show. Alastor will probably have an amazing lore in the future. He is more than his sexuality.

Random but i miss 2020/21/22 when the KawaSara fandom was so active, now i barely see people talking about them or making content. Someone needs to bring back the KawaSara fandom somehow😭.

Ikr? its not much but I am trying to bring the fandom back to life as best I can but Im pretty much a one woman army lol plus a lot of personal life stuff has had me busy which hindered my efforts a bit that Im trying to make up for now, starting with hosting this years KawaSara week since the original organizers didn't do it last year and didn't appear to be going to this year either, so I took over because I knew we had support, fans were telling me how sad they were that it didn't happen last year and was begging for someone to organize it this year, so I took that upon myself to do because I didn't wanna see the week not happen this year either because nobody else stepped up to make it happen.

It sucks how so many got run off by bsa constantly harassing them and making them fearful of even making content for the ship because they knew they would get harassed and didn't wanna deal with it.

Alot of ppl also lost faith in the ship, which is understandable, but stupid IMO because there are ships that have gone through worse than KawaSara and became canon but for some reason ppl treated this like 'oh no, conflict, no way this is happening' and Im just like...danm yall really don't know how shipping works huh? but I mean to each their own but like Vegebul is right there if you wanna see a ship thats been through some REAL shit and look at em now.

It's like todays new age shipping everything has to be smooth sailing, super healthy, super pure, minimal to no conflict, for ppl to ship it and believe it'll be canon when that just isn't how it goes.

Like I even saw a shade tweet one time talkin about 'I actually like my ships vanilla, whats wrong with actually wanting a healthy ship built on mutual respect and positive development without any conflict or drama etc' and Im just like...OK? who tf said you couldn't? but these newbies actually treat shipping like some purity contest and have a weird superiority complex for liking the 'healthier' ships and anyone who doesn't like the 'healthy' ship are weird and horrible and don't care about xyz characters etc

Its so dumb, and childish, if all storytellers followed their logic then we wouldn't have some of the best ships in fiction because only the 'healthy' ones would be canon.

Nobody is saying they cant like healthy ships, but doing so does not make them superior to anyone else nor does it give them the right to dictate what other ppl should ship simply because they disagree and think only healthy ships should be supported, thats what ppl have a problem with. You can argue the opposite side has done the same but there is a big difference in severity between the two, 'healthy' shippers act way more superior and aggressive than 'toxic' shippers [as they call them] are.

But on the bright side KawaSara week has been announced to be happening this year and a surprising amount of ppl liked and retweeted it, so it just goes to show KawaSara fans DO still exist and enjoy the ship, they just went quiet or into hiding because of the harrassment.

And guess what? even tho the event page was specifically tagged KAWASARA don't you know antis 'somehow' found it? not even a day passed since it was posted before multiple antis flocked to the announcement to talk shit, that is a prime example right there why KawaSara fans got so quiet and discouraged from making content and talking about the ship, because THIS is what happens when you dare not fall in line with the BoruSara hivemind cult.

If you dont treat Sarada like Borutos exclusive property whos whole world and character revolves around him, then you don't care about Sarada or her feelings

Their logic not mine, so if you dare pair Sarada with someone other than Boruto who they believe owns her, then you don't care about her. If you don't support the narrative THEY set for her regardless if its been confirmed or stated as a canon fact or not, then you don't care about her because fanon interpretations > canon.

This is why I say this behavior screams insecure, I dunno how you could be the most popular ship with the biggest fandom and the most support, a hug in both the anime and manga, being 'fed good' more than any other ship, yet still be THIS triggered by KawaSara just EXISTING

keep in mind this is the ship they claim is dead, a crackship with zero chance of happening, yet they get so riled up everytime KawaSara is mentioned or so much as have a crumb together they all flock to try and discredit and undermine it, if KawaSara fans just have even a tiny bit of fun and happiness with the ship they come flocking to discourage you and make you feel bad.

That level of obsession with a ship you claim has NO CHANCE and is a non threat because your ship is already canon and set in stone, admit it or not, but their behavior screams that their threatened and arent really confident in their ship themselves which is why they feel the need to try and keep KawaSara down to lift themselves up because its the only way they feel secure, by making US go away, and when we don't, they get mad, because for some odd reason they just cant stand to see another shp besides BoruSara getting attention, love, and support, it drives them MAD.

Which is why you cant convince me their not insecure about their ship, that their not threatened by KawaSara, because to put it into perspective think about it like this, do you see SNS being bothered by SasuHinas existence? no right? know why? cuz their secure in their ship and don't feel threatened by SH, so SH is free to exist openly without SNS harassing them because they don't care, SH is irrelevant and has zero impact on them.

Thats how you would think BoruSara would be given how they boast about themselves, how much they have going for em, their popularity, their support, many moments, you'd think they'd be on cloud 9 not even paying little ol KawaSara and BoruSumi any mind but they do, and for some reason its KawaSara especially that gets under their skin more than anything which is strange tbh since thats the ship thats not even semi canon yet.

Lemme put that into perspective, they are more insecure about a ship thats not even semi canon yet, than BoruMitsu, BoruSumi, KawaAda and BoruAda that are semi canon [since many bsa also ship ksu] let that sink in.

I dunno why they have such a specific hatred towards KawaSara, maybe its because a lot of them hate Kawaki, and because Boruto is the top male prize and Sarada is the top female prize in their eyes, therefore nobody else is good enough for them but each other. They discredit Sumire's feelings as insincere so she don't feel like a threat, they diminish and downplay Kawakis bond with team 7 and insist he's not even a part of it, they weirdly were fixated on Kawaki's body being inorganic and therefor concluding he was infertile and therefore couldn't have kids and therefore that'd be the end of the Uchiha clan if she was with him [which is telling of how they perceive her that her primary goal in the relationship would be popping babies, not love] they deny Kawaki as a part of the Uzumaki fam, saying he's unworthy, Naruto should disown him, etc etc, to keep him as the worthless orphan that deserves to die they want him to be.

Again, read between the lines, they dont give a danm about Boruto and Sarada together fr fr, this ship is about eugenics, this ship is about being able to brag about the young lord baggin the Uchiha heiress/Hokage, its about bragging rights, its about having the ship with the 2 biggest prizes, its about OP babies finally fulfilling their long weirdly held desire to see what those clan bloodlines mixed together would create, its about saying you don't want SS 2.0 except when its the ship you want then suddenly its A-ok

If thats the ship you want me to support then Im good, I don't want a ship where her only personality trait, motivations, goals, and character as a whole revolves entirely around a man and nothing else, just how to make HIS life better and being there for HIS pain and growth and only lifting HIM up while staying in the background doing nothing and having nothing going on for herself.

I know this may sound like 'but wait that makes it sound like KawaSara wont be canon' no Im not saying that, KawaSara is not off the table even with all that bs Ikemoto has done so far, like I said with Vegebul and just shipping in general, just because things look bad doesn't mean you lost, you haven't lost until somethings made official.

Are BoruSara together? no, are they semi canon? no, have either of them been shown or confirmed to have romantic feelings for each other? no, so nothing is lost yet, even if they were semi canon that still wouldn't be a loss because the other half has to reciprocate, like just cuz Sakura, Ino, and Karin liked Sasuke didn't mean he had to reciprocate any of them, just like even if Sarada liked Boruto doesn't mean he has to reciprocate those feelings or vice versa.

The only time a ship has truely 'lost' is when its actually dead, like one half of it dies for example, or its rival ship gets together, or their relationship is ruined beyond repair, like to the point of no possibility of redemption, only then has a ship truely 'lost' and 'died'

So no, none of this is me saying KawaSara cant still happen, it definitely can, especially with Ikemoto and Kishimoto saying Kawaki would be getting more development soon so there's that, if we get more Kawaki focus there might be some Sarada focus in there too in between. I don't wanna speculate tho but thats just a possibility Im throwing out there.

Regardless, sorry for the rant, but I'm really frustrated by this too because its 2024 now and ppl still cant leave KawaSara tf alone? thats what I meant when I said they take advantage of their size, they know they can silence us, but nobody can silence them, and that pisses me off but what can you do.

Why I didn't like 'Rise of the Beasts'

(Warnings: spoilers for ROTB and also mentions of character death)

This is just a little rant essay talking about why even though I wanted to like ROTB I quickly stopped enjoying it.

It all comes down to a simple reason: I love 'Bumblebee' (as in the 2018 film). That still stands to be my favourite Transformers movie. No shade to anyone who enjoys the Bay movies but I did not enjoy them (the casual sexism was so drastically off-putting for me as a teenage girl when it first came out), so I was overjoyed when Bumblebee came out and the movie was nice and sweet and made me really care about Bee and his connection to Charlie.

So when ROTB came out I was hoping it was going to be a good follow up and 'Bumblebee', and it was quite quickly apparent that it wasn't. It seemed that while 'Bumblebee' got the best overall reviews of any TF movie, it also didn't do that well at the box office (since it came out against the first Spiderverse movie which ended up being such a massive phenomenon). It seems Hasbro considered it a failure because ROTB doesn't feel like a sequel to 'Bumblebee', it feels more like it is trying to be a spiritual successor/sequel to the Bay films (probably evident by how the main threat is Unicron, who was the teased threat at the end of 'Last Knight').

It just doesn't quite have the spirit and sentiment of 'Bumblebee' but what made it a true disappointment for me was actually in the movies treatment of Bumblebee itself.

I came to this film because of 'Bumblebee' and I wanted to see how Bumblebee's story continued.

Then he dies in the first fight of the film. It wasn't even that in itself. It was the way they approached it in the story. The actual moment held surprisingly little weight, the characters seemed at best mildly upset by one of their comrades dying. There was no depiction of proper sadness or grief which you think you would expect for one of the main characters of the movie being actually dead, especially when they emphasize these Autobots potentially being the last of their kind.

This is even more severely undercut after the fight is over and they instantly establish that there is a way to bring Bumblebee back to life. Oh, so that's why no one was acting as if they cared, it's because the story already told us not to bother about it.

This was the point for me when I emotionally checked out of the moved. I found that it completely undercut the depiction of death in the film. In fact why should I bother getting emotionally invested in any death in the movie after that? The film seemed to want me to care when Airazor died, but why should I? Why can't she come back as well? All it would take is an excuse from the writers. Why should I care about Mirage's sacrifice? How could I trust that that moment with heavy narrative weight would actually matter? (and actually for the record I didn't mind Mirage being brought back at the end, because it was at least made clear Noah went to some effort in repairing Mirage and bringing him back. I just felt that the moment would have had more impact if they hadn't pulled that same trick earlier).

The annoying thing is I think there would have been a very easy fix: In that first battle, just have Bumblebee wounded and in the state of dying rather than actually dead. Then the characters can be like "Quick! We need to find the energon maguffin in order to revive Bumblebee." The rest of the movie would have gone exactly the same with a nice ticking clock for tension, but the premise of death itself wouldn't have been severely undercut.

I think there is a problem overall with how a lot of media handles death (though I feel I am mostly talking about US made media), but especially in franchise stuff it's become too weightless and ephemeral. Characters are killed and brought back to life with relative ease because there are probably corporate overlords demanding these characters come back so they can continue making money off their image.
