I know it's super common for those who are neurodivergent to get easily overstimulated by sound, or to not like sound at all. Most people I know IRL who are neurodivergent in one way or another prefer quiet: they wear noise cancelling earphones/buds when possible, watch YouTube and short videos(tiktok/ytshorts/insta reels/etc) muted with captions, so on and so forth. Seems to be the standard experience.
But are there anyone on the ADHD/Autistic spectrums that need sound? Who feels safer when there's outside noise, and anxious if it's quiet? Who need a fan running, or radio going, rain on the window, some form of NOISE just to feel safe?
I cannot be the only crazy person here who cannot stand to be the only thing in a room making noise, and gets anxious if it's too quiet because "what if I'm the one ruining the quiet by breathing too loud?!" Like, there has to be someone else who goes into a quiet room full of people and feels like they cannot move or else the sound of their clothes will disturb people. I cannot be alone in this? I can't be the only one who wears sound amplifying earphones/buds to fend off the quiet? Right? That's a thing, right?

#makeaterriblecomicday2025#my art#comic#comics#cat comic#it is indeed a terrible comic#but I recently adopted these two after fostering 4 cats and missing having cats of my own#I love them both very much#They're still adjusting to the house and finding who their person is#especially Lucida Sans#But that's ok i know she had a tough start#She and Tammy came to the shelter pregnant#And from Lucida's body it seems like she had been pregnant many times#but now she doesn't have to be a mommy cat anymore#she just learned how to play and have fun!#it took her 2 weeks to learn how to play by watching Tammy play#Meanwhile Tammy has a kitten mindset#she still suckles on Lucida#the only time Tammy purrs is when she's suckling#that is#until she started recently purring when I pet her and carry her around#She is so sweet and funny#but she also jumps on my railing that overlooks the basement stairs down and its a steep fall#and I don't know how to stop her and I live in fear one day she'll slip and fall down

I know that realistically you can only fit so many movies into a list of approximately 100, but I cannot take that "How many of tumblr's favorite movies have you seen?" list that's been going around seriously because there are some truly egregious omissions.
Some of it is very clearly recency bias, which makes me wonder if the op truly wasn't on here in 2013 or so, but you're telling me you made a list of "tumblr's favorite movies" that doesn't include Pacific Rim or Mad Max: Fury Road? Because, like, I was there, Gandalf.

Sure have!#I forgot how long it takes for Chimera Falin to come into play.#I still really love my 'better drawn' art of her - unfortunately it was several weeks too early for the anime only folks.#Slowly getting the hang of drawing Laios. I don't know why I struggle so much but I am getting...somewhere.#Meta time: God damn I love how the chimera shows off the expertise and gap between Kabru and Laios.#The truth is: they are both *right* and they are both *wrong*.#This creature is a combination of monster and human and they only have the skillset to deal with one of those.#Kabru goes for all the human vitals - but she isn't human.#Laios tries to approach her as a monster and is struck down by the humanity he sees in her.#She is something new that defies what they *both* understand about the world. And that makes her such a perfect antagonist.#The damsel was the dragon all along!#...She is really so cute though. Terrifying! But adorable. I am so excited to see the boom of fanart for her.
