Modern SVSSS AU where Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua are the sons of influential people. Maybe SY's dad is a well-known politician and SQH's is an arms dealer that he deals with in the shadows, something like that.

Because they're both home-bodies, they don't have a security detail outside of their estate's. That is, until they're kidnapped and held for ransom after they tried to go get boba once (the ONE TIME they try to hangout in the outside world).

Their fathers don't want to deal with that again, but they can't just hire any ole' bodyguards. No no, they have to make sure the bodyguards are physically incapable of betraying them. So what do they get?

Hybrids. Sold on the black market but not technically illegal due to the lacking rights they have in the first place.

Mobei-Jun and Luo Binghe specifically, though their tag numbers are FEL-19056 and CAN-76004 respectively. Mobei-Jun is a "high quality" feline hybrid, human mixed with the raw power of a snow leopard.

Meanwhile Luo Binghe was recommended due to his ruthlessness (Original LBH-coded). He's a feisty fucker, but knows when to hold back. LBH's a wolf-dog hybrid, though SY will eventually call him his "little sheep" because of how curly his hair and fur is.

They come with chips in their necks, and with one push of a button they can be electrocuted or killed should the occasion arise.

Ofc SY and SQH are against it at first. They're soft-hearted to the core, but their fathers are insistent. Thus they make it their missions to treat their new bodyguards (not pets) as kindly as possible.

Which, for SY, means shoving food and gifts at LBH like he's playing one of those farming sims with a NPC relationship system. For SQH, it means sniveling, offering blankets, and awkwardly trying to get MBJ to sit down, for the love of God.

Start of an idea that I want to eventually write! X-men/mutant au!

I was working on an au of Bagginshield as Cherick, but than I started to think what would their mutant abilities actually be?

For Bilbo, he is considered a thief in the shadows and he can easily sneak up on people going unnoticed. So abilities such as teleportation, superhuman agility, acute sense of hearing which all hobbit mutants would have, and being able to move quietly going unheard would make up his abilities. Plus a prehensile tail, because hobbits with tails are cool. So far my idea for how the one ring affects Bilbo's abilities is that it would make it so his other abilities are unusable and he can go invisible. The ring still has its normal corrupting effects, but also severely causes harm to the wearers mutant abilities.

For Thorin, its more simple. I see him being like Magneto and having the ability of magnetokinesis which includes ferrokinesis which is metal manipulation, metal sensing, etc. He along with other dwarf mutants would also have acute sense but of sight which would let them be able to see in the dark. So far my idea for how his dragon sickness affects his abilities is would make it so his abilities are hard to control being a danger to others, and nearly usable.

This is still a major work in progress, but here are some of my thoughts for the au so far. I will share more as I work on it!

Re: the anon ask about Carlo acting out to Maxim - I'm thinking of Carlo being triggered by Something related to his previous poor treatment, and he starts acting out as if (subconsciously) trying to get Maxim to react with violence. But Maxim is able to see something is Off and just calmly puts his ass in time out or something instead and makes a note to talk about it with him later once he's cooled off. Sorry I just love these two slkdfjsdfwei

I'd truly be the worst person to stick into a timeloop because I'd really just spend the first 5 years catching up on my book tbr, the next 7 on all the movies and shows that've Been On My List for ages, and then another decade on ao3. like sure nothing may stick but my memories will and i can just go into a supermarket to get snacks and wine each day, and i have art to indulge in. like thanks for the hints on how to get out but respectfully, I am busy

Street kid Luo Binghe makes the mistake of letting some weirdo get a hold of him and finds himself locked up in a windowless room somewhere.

The only bright spot in this shit situation is that there's another boy in there with him. Shen Yuan is clearly in considerably worse shape than Luo Binghe and he says he's been here for a very long time. But he's so kind to Binghe and deliberately draws their captor's attention to himself (and away from Binghe) whenever he can.

He also, after Binghe's been there about a month, steals their captor's keys, unlocks the restraints they're both in, and then shoves Binghe out the boarded up window he's been prying open when he had time.

Shen Yuan is too big to fit through the window, he says. They both know that's not true but they can also both hear that their captor is coming-he must have noticed the keys were missing- and Shen Yuan intends to stall him while Binghe gets away.

Binghe promises to come back with help and SY just smiles and nods and shoos him away.

He runs as fast as he can, and once he's far enough away from the house he escaped from he starts asking for help- but no one is listening to him. And he knows if he goes to the local guard he'll probably be handed back over as a runaway slave... And then he sees two men who both seen almost to shine in the dirty city streets... they must be cultivators, they must. If anyone can help him now it will be them. So Luo Binghe throws himself at the taller of the two men and starts begging for help.

Shen Qingqiu is absolutely positive this kid is trying to lure them into an ambush, but Yue Qingyuan- who invited himself along on SQQ's mission without asking him- doesn't think so.

YQY goes with LBH, and SQQ follows, complaining that this is a trick the whole way- up until they discover that yes actually the local nobleman does have a secret room he's been imprisoning children in and there is indeed an almost beaten to death SY in there.

YQY sends SQQ off with SY- gotta get that kid medical attention ASAP- while he and LBH stay behind to Politely Ask Some Questions.

When YQY and LBH arrive back at the sect SY is still in the medical ward but isn't dying and is even awake! LBH is relieved and refuses to leave him again.

YQY fills SQQ in that not only were both boys not slaves, SY was actually the son of the nobleman's first wife she had as the result of an affair. He disappeared from the household around the time the first wife died and all the servants assumed their Lord had sold the boy or killed him outright.

But now that the nobleman has died a sudden and painful and extremely mysterious death it looks like SY has inherited the estate. YQY will have someone from An Ding go sort out the details since SY can't.

SQQ watches YQY smile at the little urchins they've rescued and talk in a way that obviously means he intends them to stay and says, internally 'Fuck no Qi-ge you don't get to replace me with a Shen you actually did manage to save. Absolutely not!'

Out loud the conversation goes:

SQQ: I want the older boy.

YQY: What?

SQQ: You intend for them to stay right? I want the older boy for Qing Jing Peak, you can keep the little one if you want.

YQY, pleased and assuming SQQ and SY must have bonded while he and LBH were away: Of course.

SQQ and SY have not bonded, and once they get back to QJ Peak things are tense. SQQ is low-key kinda jealous of SY and also reminded much too much of himself by the boy. Except he was never as naive and stupid as this kid is! Why is he so nice? How?? And the little shit isn't even afraid of him!

SY, deeply sarcastic: Oh nooo. I'm going to be beaten? Such a thing has never happened to me before! *Coughs because his throat is permanently messed up from being nearly strangled to death*

SQQ, aware that if he hits the kid now he loses: You're not allowed in the library for a week.

SY: What!

SQQ: The next words out of your mouth better be "yes Shizun, sorry Shizun" or it'll be two weeks.

SY: ...yes Shizun, sorry Shizun.

Meanwhile LBH and YQY are having a magical adventure in becoming a found family and are bonding over their obsessions with their respective Shens. They absolutely come visit QJ Peak at least twice a week much to SQQ's displeasure and SY's delight.

Another Dead Serious prompt idea spawned.

Damian was League of Assassins raised we all know that so what if he takes ques on how to woo you're potential partner from those teachings.

And we get mainly outsiders POVs and think Damian is trying to kill or threatening one Daniel 'Danny' Fenton after the boy accidentally knocked Damian onto the ground via punch to the face (Danny was stressing hard that day, new school and had just gotten out of a fight with Vlad that night so he was running on little sleep)

Eventually the family (everyone but Bruce) get together to try to get Damian to stop his 'threats' and one of two things can happen.

Either they eventually bring it up to Bruce who at first is worried like the rest of them but then realizes what Damian is actually doing because he has the same experience from Talia's courting.

OR Babs warns them that Damian was spotted entering the Fenton home and seemed geared for a fight, they go running to stop Damian from maybe carrying out his plan, and stumble onto the two making out after a brawl.

He probably lies awake at night trying to craft the perfect lie. Lucanis isn’t an idiot. It’s got to be believable and not easily disproven. It has to be something personal so he won’t ask Rook or Bellara about it. And he’s got to time it for maximum hilarity.

The others notice he��s distracted and ask if he’s okay. He nods solemnly and says he just has a lot on his mind. The others understand. Risen gods, blighted dragons, responsibility for the last of the griffins… they’re all overwhelmed.

Meanwhile this man is thinking, “I am going to get that Antivan motherfucker if it’s the last thing I do.”

“truce!” you laugh, hands up, retreating toward the shallow end.

kiri follows you like always. “yeah? you surrendering?”

you nod, trying to bite back a grin. “absolutely. you win. congrats. you’re terrifying.”

“damn right.” he puffs his chest proudly, muscles gleaming, still grinning. and then, because he’s kiri, he adds, “but just so you know, i wasn’t really trying.”

you gasp, scandalized. “excuse me?!”

and you pounce.

you jump on him, mostly to dunk him, but he catches you instinctively, arms strong around your waist, laughing through it.

you try to wriggle out of his grip, but it’s no use. you’re completely at his mercy and he knows it. he leans in, nose almost brushing yours.

“you give up again?” he asks, teasingly.

your heart skips. “...maybe.”

“good answer.” and then he spins you. just to make you squeal. just to hear you laugh.

he sets you down gently after, but his hands linger. one at your waist. one at the back of your shoulder. you’re close. too close. you’re both breathing harder than you should be.

you blink up at him, soaked hair clinging to your cheeks.

“you, uh... good?” he asks, voice softer now.

you nod. “yeah. are you?”

he looks at you for a second too long. “...yeah.”

but neither of you move. neither of you break the eye contact. and everyone watching from the edge of the pool is mentally screaming.
