I'll be back soon with a Dark Maiden update, thank you for being understanding about the computer issues. I'm not the type of person to make posts saying "Sorry guys, xyz is happening so I'm going to be behind schedule." When I'm running late I just focus on getting my work done as quickly as possible and explaining later if I'm egregiously late. However, the circumstances in this case were so catastrophic that it merited advising. Essentially, I'd lost about two days worth of writing and a Scrivener file where I kept a good chunk of worldbuilding stuff. Thankfully it was more of a master primer, I have the majority of the info scattered between different stuff in the cloud. And obviously it's all in my head, I've drafted this story so many times. I already have most of the stuff I need sorted back into my new master primer. The most mind-numbing aspect, apart from redownloading all of my programs and updating all of my drivers, was trying to figure out the login info for all the sites I use. I'm still scratching my head wondering wtf my Canva email address is. So it's been a hectic few days of nonstop tech woes but I am back at it now and will be focused on writing as quickly as I can (without sacrificing quality). I've already told my husband and the kids that I'm going goblin mode this week and they'll have to figure out how to cook for themselves and operate a broom while I work.

The answer is this week, I just don't want to give an official day because I cannot handle being late again this month. I find being behind schedule immensely stressful. However I am currently working on Dark Maiden (I'm actually just stopping now to eat lunch and catch up on some of my inbox) and I'll be writing it all day. When I publish will depend on if I opt to finish the moonday + 4th dream and publish or push through to the night. Given that the night will be loaded with sex, it'll probably be the former as quality sex takes a few days to write and I'd rather not rush it.

HOW TO MAKE A GINGER SHOT ;

so i own a juicer but assembling it and disassembling it is soo tedious and i'd rather just use my blender so im going to be talking about how i make ginger shots using a blender. all ur going to need are the following...

🌟 a few pieces of ginger (i usually just use one or two small pieces)

🌟 some water

🌟 cayenne powder if u want an extra kick (optional)

🌟 some lemon

🌟 strainer

and all u have to do is lightly peel ur pieces of ginger, dont worry about getting all the skin off but just get as much as u can off. put it into ur blender with some water and squeeze half a lemon into it before blending. next ur going to take ur strainer and separate the pulp from the juice and ur all done!

i always start all my workouts briskly walking for 30 minutes on the treadmill at an incline. i watch kimora lee simmon's life in the fab lane show while i do this because each episode is around 30-40 minutes so i keep myself distracted. or if im feeling for something different i'll go on the elliptical instead of the treadmill.

at the moment... the workouts that im doing consistently everyday are 10 minute waist + tummy workout, 10 minute hourglass abs workout, 5 minute stomach vacuum, 5 minute abs and small waist pilates workout routine, 5 minute everyday pilates lower abs for abs. and then for booty i love to do 12 minute booty workout (with resistance bands or weights), and 10 minute bubble butt burnout. now for my arms and back i do 10 minute slim back & better posture, 5 min slim and toned arms workout, and 8 minute victorias secret angel arms. if u guys want more on working out and stuff i can make a post on that too!

MENTALLY MOISTURIZED ;

i've been consistently journaling for about three years now and its been fabulous. i can get all my thoughts out onto paper and not feel like im carrying a million pounds of stress on my head. i feel overwhelmed a lot because i do SO much and journaling has really helped me.

also i have a super fabulous therapist who helps teach me how to ground myself, and just take care of myself better so shes great. if u can't have a therapist right now, journaling is great... and between me and you... chat gpt makes a great therapist.

i love meditating every now and then when i feel like i wanna just immerse myself in my brain, another thing i do to keep a good mental space is digital detoxes. every other week i get off of tiktok and it has been SO great for me. i also don't use my phone in the mornings because i just need time to get ready and have a screen free morning, its rly so pleasant. if im sad, i cheer myself up with shopping.

i follow this one girl on youtube, i'll link her right here ❤︎ but she has amazing juicing recipes and healthy lifestyle content in general that rly inspires me. i make the same juices she does and they taste generally good and are good for you. i like to make juice once a week, maybe twice. whenever i feel like i need it essentially.

SLEEP IS A NON NEGOTIABLE. even if u eat super healthy and workout everyday, if ur not sleeping enough it's like shooting yourself in the foot! you need ur beauty sleep. sleep is when your body heals, resets, and literally glows up from the inside out. it helps balance your hormones, support your metabolism, and keep your skin clear and glowing. not to be dramatic but… no amount of eye cream or green juice can fix chronic exhaustion. and thats the real gag.

FEET UP THE WALL POSE ;

when u elevate ur legs, ur letting gravity do all the work for you. draining lymph, reducing swelling, and boosting circulation. it’s perfect after a long day or when you’re feeling puffy and need a moment of calm.

CYCLE SYNCING ;

so there are four menstrual phases. luteal (before period, when u start to feel sluggish) menstrual (during ur period) follicular (after ur period so improved mood and brain function) and ovulation (ur feeling confident, like the summer of ur body). the way i incorporate cycle syncing is just, during my luteal phase i won't over-stuff my agenda bcuz ik i get super sluggish and cranky.

i also make sure to pour into myself during the menstrual and luteal phases. i plan my bigger projects during follicular and ovulation. i plan my workouts accordingly too, and set aside extra time for rest. i eat a lot of soups during my period -> red meat and fermented foods during follicular -> fibrous foods during ovulation -> and healthy fats and chocolate during luteal.

its super simple! and to make it simpler think of it like seasons. ur menstrual phase is the winter -> follicular is the spring -> ovulation is summer -> and luteal is fall.

JM and JK shower together

FACT!!

Be honest now. We thought it, we assumed it, and now we are getting confirmation.

And yes, this is within military settings, but you need to be really naïve or daft to think that this is happening only because of the military setting or only since they enlisted.

I will explain this once, because people seem to hang on to the "they have to shower together in the military" and "these are communal showers and they shower with others as well".

NOPE.

What might have been true for basic training, the whole designated shower times and showering together (for soldiers as a whole, not JM and JK, because they did not shower with others from the start, I've talked about this in previous posts), is not true once they are assigned to their units. At that point soldiers can shower at their own free will and time, before or after duties. Depending on the barracks there will also be a difference of how these showers look - you could have a bathroom for every room of 4 (this would be in newer quarters) or multiple stall showers for barracks with bigger rooms that hold multiple soldiers. JK and JM have different duties within their unit. Different timetables. And yet they choose to wait for each other and shower together.

They don't have to!!

In any case, point being that JK and JM CHOOSE (once again that word) to shower together.

Just the two of them!!!

But then, they have always been showering together.

I mean, they've been doing it for years.

And I'm not talking about the early days when the lot of them may have had to shower together. No. I'm talking about when they are 2 grown ass men, including when they are no longer living in the dorms (which would be for at least 4 years now).

We might have only guessed or assumed it in the past though. You know, because of us believing they are a couple, their shared accommodations and the crumbs they have left for us, like the good Hansel and Gretel that they are.

What am I talking about, you may ask?

Well, here are a few examples...

Finding a wet haired JK in his pj's, telling us he just came out of the shower. Ignoring a wet haired JM also in the same room. Clearly having showered shortly therefor.

We see JK going into the bathroom, JM nowhere to be seen.

Obviously he's not showering upstairs with Tae asleep there and both of their suitcases spread out open in front of the downstairs bathroom.

Next we see JM outside of the bathroom brushing his hair dressed after the shower and JK is in the bathroom partially dressed after that shower.

JM walking in behind JK, and yes, it looks like he's lifting his arms to fix his hair, but that cut there again.... I am choosing to believe that he also went in for a hug there. Hill meet Kanmom.

JM goes to have a shower, JK following in suit a few minutes later, walking into the bathroom (after that morning wood subsides if only a little, I may add).

JK going to shower with JM or not, they clearly have zero problem with being naked in front of each other, JK not even hesitating to walk in on a showering JM. Friends or not, living together years ago or not, there is this thing called privacy and respecting each other's privacy, oh and boundaries between 2 grown people.

You know who has zero issues with that? Couples!!!

So yeah, we got these hints and crumbs over the years.

But then JK goes and drops this, with that cute ass smirk on his face...

Like it's nothing.

Like there is nothing to it.

Like this won't break the internet, blow our minds to smithereens and break TKKs and solos and haters.

Like not only confirming they shower together (huge within itself), this confirmed what so many were trying to disprove for the past 12 months since they enlisted, and that is that the two are together by choice, have been ever since they enlisted, and choose to spend their spare time together as well. Including in the shower.

But then again...

This REALLY shouldn't have come as such a surprise seeing that JM most definitley had zero problem doing this:

Sorry I missed you (on purpose)

Buck knew Tommy's schedules and habits, and he knew exactly when Tommy wasn't home.

Tommy's schedule fluctuated from week to week, so how did Buck know this? Well, Buck started anti-stalking Tommy, which is...still stalking, but he was only doing it to avoid running into Tommy. It doesn't make sense. To you, to anybody, but it makes sense to Buck, and Buck's gonna Buck, right?

Tommy liked to keep the porch light on because he fed a neighborhood cat whenever he was home, and he wanted the cat to know it was safe to come on his porch and have a bite to eat. Tommy was just good like this.

It's so hard not to love him.

Monday. Porch light on. Tuesday. Porch light off. Wednesday. Porch light on, and the curtain was open. Buck's heart raced when he saw Tommy walk past the window. What was he doing? Was he alone? Buck didn't intend to stick around too long and find out, so he drove off.

Thursday. Porch light off. Perfect. Buck left a post-it note on Tommy's front door.

"Wanted to drop some things of yours, but you weren't home and I didn't want to leave them on the porch. Feel free to call or drop by anytime! -Buck"

There. Simple enough. Now Buck just had to get the hell out of there before Tommy returned.

Two days passed and Tommy hadn't called, texted or stopped by. Why?

Did the post it note blow away? Did the cat eat it? Maybe he should've reinforced the post-it with some tape or something.

Or maybe...Tommy didn't want to talk to him at all. Maybe he just hated him.

Buck carried that thought to bed.

The next day after Buck's shift, he returned home to find a post-it on his door.

"Sorry I missed you. I have some of your things as well. You can drop mine off and pick up yours this week. Or I can stop by. Your choice. -Tommy"

Buck read the note over and over again. He could hear Tommy's voice in his head with every syllable his eyes scanned on the note. It even had the lingering smell of Tommy's cologne.

Buck stuck it to his fridge.

He missed talking to him.

The next day after his shift, Buck drove past Tommy's house. Porch light on.

Buck kept driving.

The day after, Buck returned to Tommy's again. Porch light off. This was his moment.

"Sorry I missed you again. I just can't seem to remember your schedule. Stop by whenever you can."

He stuck the post-it to the door, but he was unsatisfied, so he pulled out a second post-it.

PS: hope you're taking care of that knee that was bothering you a few weeks ago. You never took that compression sleeve. Should I bring it? -Buck"

It was a little ridiculous, sure, but Buck was talking to Tommy again. Sort of, and it was great.

Buck stopped baking as often, and everyone at the firehouse thought he was making some sort of progress. He told them he was. He just didn't explain the sort of progress he was making.

When he returned home from his shift 3 days later, there were 3 post-its on his door and his eyes lit up with excitement.

"We've gotta stop (not) meeting like this. I can't seem to remember your schedule either. I'm sure we'll sort this out soon." Buck smiled as he grabbed the first post it, before reading the second.

"My knee's better, but I'd still like that compression sleeve. Do you think you could drop it off with my stuff? Or I'll pick it up." Buck smiled wider. He was glad to know Tommy's knee wasn't bothering him as much anymore, but he was happy to know he still wanted his help.

"Let me know what works for you. PS: Is that wrist still bothering you? I hope it's all healed up now. -Tommy"

Buck stuck the post-its to his fridge and smiled to himself. He was almost convinced they'd talked via post-its enough to talk via text, but he didn't feel like it was the right time yet.

He continued anti-stalking Tommy for days, waiting for the day his porch light wasn't on. It had been 4 days since the porch light was off.

Finally. He hoped Tommy wasn't too worried. Then again, he probably wasn't worried at all, Buck assumed.

"Sorry again. I just have a lot of things keeping me busy so I stop by whenever I get the chance. I'm going to try again until we get this right." Buck stuck the first note to the door.

"PS: my wrist is fine now, thanks for asking. I've been putting it to use a lot lately because I'm baking so much."

Buck stuck the second note to the door, but wanted to leave three post-its like Tommy did, just to seem equally as invested in this post-it tag.

"PPS: I almost tripped over the bowl by your front door. Are you still feeding that cat? -Buck"

Buck stuck the final note to the door feeling satisfied. He even laughed to himself when he realized he stuck them to the door in the shape of a heart with the first two on top, and the third beneath.

Tommy probably wouldn't even notice.

When a week passed and Buck hadn't seen a single post-it on his door, he was beginning to worry that Tommy grew tired of their game of tag.

The next day, there was one, single post-it on his door.

"I think maybe I should text you."

Buck's heart was beating out of his chest. Was Tommy going to text him finally?

When? What time? What day? Today? Please be today, Buck hoped.

Buck was back to checking his phone for the next few hours. He started baking again to pass the time so he'd stop obsessing over his phone.

When he heard his phone ding, he nearly jumped across the counter for it.

Buck and Tommy continued to occasionally text for a week. Occasionally became frequently, and frequently became constantly, until they were talking again about any and everything that crossed their minds.

When Tommy addressed them finally meeting in person to exchange their belongings, Buck dreaded the thought. He was convinced that exchanging their belongings would end their text exchanges, so he blew Tommy off several times with various excuses about why he was too busy to meet.

Tommy was willing to wait and continue to text Buck, until one day, the texting turned into a phone call.

"Are you avoiding me on purpose?" Tommy asked.

"I-uh-no-I-I'm not. I'm not avoiding you. Not...intentionally." Buck stammered.

Tommy laughed on the other end of the phone. "Evan." There was that teasing voice Buck so dearly missed.

"Okay, okay. Maybe I am. I wasn't ready to do this face-to-face, in case this was going to be the last time we ever saw each other. So first, I dragged it out with the post-its..."

"I knew I saw your car that night! I thought maybe I was imagining it. Maybe...I dunno, wishful thinking."

Buck listened to the momentary silence and the soft sigh on the other end of the phone.

"The notes were cute, though. I...liked them. I suppose I was avoiding you too. Just to keep this going for a little bit longer."

"Really?" Buck smiled. "Y-you were? I didn't think you even wanted to talk to me anymore—"

"Are you kidding? Of course I do. I just...I know we broke up so suddenly. I...thought maybe we wouldn't work out. I guess it all felt too real and I...ran. I've done nothing but act cowardly since that night."

"I don't think you're a coward, Tommy. I didn't mean to scare you off. If you don't think I'm ready, I can promise you that you're wrong. Since the moment you left, I haven't stopped thinking about you. The baking was just to keep me from reaching out to you so I could give you space."

"I hate space. I hate avoiding you. I miss you, Evan. So much."

"I miss you too."

There was another silence while they each gathered their thoughts.

"Do you uh...do you still want your stuff back?" Buck worriedly asked.

"The only thing I left at your apartment that I want back is you."

Buck smiled so wide, his cheeks were aching. "You mean it?"

"Of course. When are you free?"

"For you? Whenever your porch light is on." Buck answered, getting a lighthearted laugh out of Tommy.

"Well...they're on right now."

"Yeah? I'll be right there."

ok. ok. there is so much to explain so I'll start with the easy stuff.

after so many years, mangoball revealed themself on a post by icarus aka apollos-boyfriend. they are now a beatles fan.

okay now. sigh. dream.

you're not going to believe me but this is a condensed version.

but recently a clip surfaced from the shut up I'm talking podcast of tommy talking about how much he disliked meeting mizkif. mizkif wasn't thrilled about this. xqc called tommy cringe for it, tommy made a post making fun of xqc calling him cringe for wearing a trump shirt during the stream he did where he met trump, xqc shot back by tweeting one of tommy's standup clips and making fun of him for having an audience of mostly teenage girls. then, despite not being mentioned or involved in the conversation in any way, dream qrted xqc's tweet making fun of tommy with a meme outright calling all tommyinnit fans the r slur.

dream ended up deleting the tweet but only after a few hours or something so everyone had already seen it. he tried to defend himself on twitter, claiming that because he's autistic he's allowed to use it. this all happened very late at night in the US so the british streamers were asleep. dream also made a reddit post trying to defend himself, insulting tommy and co. and saying tommy had no backbone. next day, tubbo had a stream outright talking about how much he dislikes dream and defending tommy, while also acknowledging his own bias towards his friends.

that night, once again when the rest of the british ccs had gone to sleep, dream did a very late night stream that was basically him crashing out for 3 straight hours. he went over very cherry-picked parts of tubbo's VOD, 'explaining' himself and talking about how tommy was always such a terrible cruel friend to him (when tommy was, like, 17 mind you. he covered so many things I literally cannot remember them all but he shared private dms he's had with multiple ccs and also outright said someone shared skephalo porn art in the dsmp discord when tommy and tubbo were 16 but it was fine because the teens 'asked to be treated like adults' (??????????)

today tubbo streamed again, watching dream's stream and responding and acknowledging his own slip ups/mistakes he made while also calling dream out for a lot of the bs he said. he was also supposed to have a call on stream with dream to talk it out, but then during tubbo's stream tommy uploaded an absolutely scathing 5 minute video talking about how terrible dream has been over the years, and dream cancelled the scheduled call he had with tubbo. like if you want to watch anything from this entire mess, watch tommy's video. if you want a more full view of things, watch tubbo's VOD from today.

then quackity streamed today and everyone expected him to say something because dream also brought him up for some reason?? during his stream??? and shared private dms they had?????? but quackity is still winning the idgaf war. he just promoed some new stuff he's doing and then went "there was something else I was going to talk about but I forgot what it was. oh well, later guys!"

except all of minhee's plans fly out the window the moment you step through the door of his office and you're already apologizing before he has the chance to speak, all teary eyed and with shaky hands, avoiding his eyes and trying to explain that you know you're being a burden to the rest of your coworkers, especially to him.. he finds you even cuter than usual kind of pathetic too, sure, but so so adorable and a little lost .. clearly so reliant on him.

seeing you like this brings out a new urge in minhee. he wants to ruin you.

but the other side of him, the one that knows just how reliant you are on his guidance, how much you look up to him despite it only having been a few days since you started working there, the part of him that enjoys all of that, knows he can't be straight up mean to you ,,

he doesn't know with what self control, but minhee keeps going as if nothing is wrong, as if seeing you on the verge of tears didn't make him slightly hard. he lists what you have to improve on and stuff like that, until his tone shifts into something more condescending and he starts slipping some 'but it's so hard for you to think about so many things at the same time, right?' in between his otherwise totally normal advice ....

and in your mental state, so vulnerable and confused, you can't be blamed when you agree, when words start spilling out along with the tears and you admit that yes, it's so hard to keep track of everything, sometimes you just wish you could shut your brain off.

All the kids waved their fathers with excitement, some of them ran to hug them before starting the show. Jay didn't make it, but Tessa wasn't feeling bad about it...yet.

When the song finished, all the kids jumped into their fathers arms and gave them the craft they made in class as a gift for them. Tessa stood in her place, not being able to hold her tears. She was crying in silence, so between the noise and excitement around the little girl, nobody noticed her until a few minutes later. As soon as her teacher saw her, she ran towards her and hugged her tight.

-"It's ok, honey. It's ok. Your dad wanted to be here with you". She said in a very sweet and calmed voice. -"Remember he is fighting the bad guys, you said that before ''.

Some parents were moved watching the scene, but there was nothing they could do. Ms. Johnson, the school's principal, noticed the situation from afar and she joined as soon as she could. By only moving her lips, trying not to be heard, she asked Tessa's teacher if the little girl's father wasn't there. She shaked her head in disapproval when the teacher answered with a sorry face.

-"We can call your dad, Tess. That way you can hear his voice".

-"But, Ms. Johnson, he's fighting the bad guys". Ms. Luna intervened.

-"Oh!" She understood. -"Ok, but we can call him later, we'll tell him to come so you can give him your present. Would you like that?".

The little girl was an emotional mess, but agreed with her head, even though she wasn't really listening to what the adults were saying.

The emergency call for the intelligence team ended up in a shooting and that delayed detective Halstead. As soon as he finished with interviews and all the bureaucracy after this kind of situation, he ran off.

-"Go, go, go". Hailey rushed. -"I cover you".

Jay drove his truck as fast as he could, siren on. It wasn't a police emergency, but it was an emergency after all, he could deal with the consequences later. He parked in the first spot he found, even if it wasn't merely in front of the school and ran as fast as he could in a police mode to get to his baby girl. It was until he entered the building that he noticed he was still wearing the vest, gun and badge on his hip, but didn't care.

-"There he is!" Ms. Johnson pointed to Tessa's father.

-"Come on! Come on!" Ms. Luna took the little girl's hand and started running towards her dad.

-"I'm so sorry". Jay took Tessa in his arms and carried her holding her as tight as he could. She was too emotionally drained to react.

Kids around were already saying goodbye to their parents, going back to their classrooms.

-"We'll give you some time alone". Ms. Johnson informed Jay and he muttered a "thank you".

-"You can go back to the classroom when you feel ready". Ms. Luna told her student.

-"I hate the bad guys". Tessa managed to say when they were finally alone.

-"Me too". Her father said. -"I'm really, really sorry I didn't hear you sing, but I'm here right now". He wiped the tears from her cheeks.

-"I did it real good, you missed it". She said playing with the key chain in her hands.

-"I bet you did". Jay chuckled. -"What do you have there?".

-"It's a present for you. I made it for you". She extended her short arm to give it to her dad.

-"For me? Is it for my keys? I love it!"

-"It's you and me and lots of hearts. I drew it myself".

-"I can see that. It's beautiful. Thank you, sweetie". Jay's phone started ringing and he sighed when he read the text messages.

-"I have to go back to work".

-"But I don't want you to go". She started crying again.

Ms. Johnson came into the scene to help Tessa go back to her class" -"Daddy has to go back to work, sweetie. Ms. Luna and your friends are waiting for you, let's go". And she took her tenderly in her arms as her crying grew louder.

He peeked through the classroom window to check on her before departing. He witnessed how Ms. Luna was successfully calming her down and felt a little bit more relaxed to go.

-"Thank you for coming". Ms. Johnson told him with a smile. -"For real".

With a heavy heart, he got into his truck and before turning it on, he hung the keychain in his keys. He inspected the tiny drawing and smiled before going back to the bullpen.

So after listening to and loving the most recent That Handsome Devil album I had 2 thoughts. 1: More people should post about them on here. 2: Since I liked this new album so much I should listen to the rest of their discography, like obviously there's a handful of songs I listened to even before this new album but I know next to nothing about their older work.

So that's what this post is, me going through their entire discography album by album, song by song, and giving my thoughts. I'll spend a few days with each album in order to get my a proper opinion of each song. (Disclaimer: I am very unknowledgeable about music so a lot of what I say will be wrong. For example I am very bad at telling if something is guitar or bass. But in general if you get angry at people not knowing music stuff then scroll past)

I'll also be rating each song from 1-5 for funsies. However given that I am a fan of the band that scale is a very positive weighted one, so a 1 here is like a 5/10 on a normal scale.

That Handsome Devil (The Album)

Standing Room in Heaven

The first song of the band's self titled first album goes for a bit of a slow feel, giving vibes of a 20s gang speakeasy filled with cigar smoke. We of course have the great vocals of Godforbid that really just hit all those great notes that help this be a good smooth jazzy song. The main problems I have with it are that the bits of energetic drums in the first half feel likee they come and go out of nowhere. Also the song is just a bit long if you ask me, could have had 1 less chorus and maybe a little less instrumental at the end. 3/5

Yada Yada

Yada Yada is an odd one. For this song Godforbid adds a certain wobblyness to his voice that… kinda works. It adds a memorable sound to the song and doesn't sound bad, but it can sound a bit like he's a cartoon goat. However this song has an amazing beat that always has me bobbing in my chair. And the bit with the backup vocals is just superb. I feel like the score for this one could fluctuate a lot based on my mood but for now I will give a 4/5

Sleep it Off

If the previous song made ms bob in my seat this one makes me want to get up and do a groovy little walk down the street. There is just so much that I like here. The multiple different vocalizations in the background, what sounds like violin during the chorus. I feel like this song accomplishes what it sets out to do perfectly. 5/5

Elephant Bones

From what I know this is the most recognized song in this album (apparently it's even guitar hero. wow.). And I can see why, it's the most danceable song on the album. It's also got a lot of interesting layers with I feel a large difference in energy between it's high and low energy parts. That said, I might just be burn out on this song since I actually found it before I started this whole listen though, but I find I want just a little more something from it. Still great but I think only 4/5 great instead of full score.

Dating Tips

I don't think I get this song. To me it feels less like a song and more poetry with a simple melody in the background. Also the background vocals on this one are notably- well- bad. It's some good poetry tho and I can definitely see this being a song that a different person loves, but for me it's 1/5

Miss America

Our first real somber song gives a great feeling of melancholy, really showing that Godforbid can also put quite a lot of emotion into his vocals instead of just funky energy. Honestly I kinda wish it leaned more into the slow and quiet, but as is it's still a good 3/5!

James Dean

I do not know about music theory to explain why this song works for me. It kinda sucks. 4/5

Closing thoughts: I feel like my opinion on this album changed a lot in a very short time. On the first listen or two Elephant Bones and Yada Yada would have been a pretty easy top 2 for me, but I feel now that they've fallen behind Sleep it off and James Dean. It's a very consistent album if you ignore Dating Tips, but I feel like the band can for sure reach higher peaks than this.

A City Dressed in Dynamite

Damn Door

This is another weird one. Like you know when there's a song that's carried a lot by the chorus and the rest of the song is fine but it's not what you're there for? This song is a song made only of those parts. Nothing is bad but it leaves me wanting for a good part that doesn't come. I wouldn't skip past it in an album listen-through but it ain't going in the shuffle. 2/5

Wintergreen

We got a hint of surf rock here. This is kinda the kind of song I was talking about with the last one, where most of the song is unimpressive but then the "sleepin on a subway! sittin up above me! runnin since the day I was bawn!" hits and it gets stuck in your head. Other than that I also feel the drums are notably good in this song. 3/5

Rob The Prez-O-Dent

I haven't talked about lyrics much but this one is just very fun conceptually. Who wouldn't want to get drunk with the boys and rob the prez-o-dent for completely apolitical reasons? This feels like the soundtrack of a goofy yet violent cartoon comedy. (I've seen a meme of this song with the tf2 mercs and that feels perfect) The song also has a very good sound, with a constantly high energy and incorporating things like alarms and shotgun blasts into the instrumentals in a really good way that adds a lot of spice. 5/5

Pills For Everything

If I could describe this song in a word it would be "smooth". The guitar does a lot this song, especially to make the intentionally tired-sounding "oooh"s and "aaay"s sound actually good. I also don't know enough about music to describe it well but I think the meter of this song does some really cool things. If someone who knows more about poetry or music could describe why this song does it well please let me know. 4/5

Cry

If ever there was a song I expected to be a somber song based on the title it was this one. But I was a fool cause this is a bop. Whenever I listen to this song for the next 20 minutes I'm saying "alone in my appartment- eating all the garbage" to myself, which isn't the lyric but I like it. This song is just firing on all cylinders. Good drums. Good brass. Good guitar. Good vocals all around. 5/5

Kiss The Cook

I feel like this song does what it's trying to do well, but what it's trying isn't my taste. It's quite atmospheric aside from the vocals, and I feel it does a good job of getting across the feeling of slow prolonged rot and emotional numbness the song is going for, but that leads to it not coming at you with any strong emotion which is how I personally like my sad songs. If I was rating quality it's a 3 or 4 but I'm rating more on opinion so 2/5

Viva Discordia

I feel like this song gets mad overshadowed by the sequel song. Which honestly- yeah. Deserved. This song is good but (spoilers) the other one is better. On it's own this song has a fun sense of old school rural folk song (at least to me. but that may just be the banjo). It has lyrics that almost tell a bunch of short stories which is fun. 3/5

Squares

Ok so you know how a lot of THD songs will have little bits of audio at the end. I don't know if they're clips from old tv or radio or what. But I think they are good, they give you a wind down and since they are at the end they are easy to skip by just going to the next song. I bring this up to nitpick that this song has one of those at the start, which is WAY worse since they are much harder to skip. You just have to wait like 20 seconds after you start the song before the song actually starts. The actual song is fine I guess. It's got a weird thing I assume is a keyboard in the background. Other than that my feelings are basically the same as Damn Door, except I usually end up skipping this one because of the 20 second startup, even if the song is a bit better. 2/5

Mexico

This song is hype. To me it gives vibes of triumph, of being the coolest badass, and an "all my fellas" type companionship. If I actually read the lyrics it that probably wouldn't be the vibe at all but for now this song is the vibe of that hype moment when the hero confidently walks up to the bbeg, now having the power to wipe the floor with them. 5/5

Reagan's Kids

This is another song where I wish I knew more about music theory in order to explain why I love that song. All I can say is listen to this song, and if you can't help but join in with the vocalizations at about the 1:50 mark, and just harmonize with it, then we are on the same wavelength. You get this song like I get it. 5/5

Treefood

I feel like I've been complaining a lot about the more sadder or melancholic songs, so I feel it's important to point out that this is the kinda song that does that in a way I can really get behind. I like it when a song can use the entirety on it's sound to grab your heart and make you feel a way. This song does that. The grief. The longing. The acceptance. It's purely gripping. And it all comes together with the ending vocalizations followed by somber strings and accordion. This isn't quite a song that will make me cry but it's a beautiful piece of music. 5/5

Ok so this is written quite a bit after the paragraph above, about when I'm finishing up my thoughts on D&G4E. I just discovered that apparently this album (and as far as I can tell only this album) has a whole bunch of sneaky secret tracks that aren't on Spotify. So I guess I should go over those as well. (ps the closing thoughts for this album were written before this and I will not be bothered to change it)

Atom Shell

Weird thing about this one is it's the same upload as Treefood on the YouTube playlist I found of these, and it's just separated by some silence. I imagine that with physical releases of the music if you let it play for a while after Treefood ended that's how you were supposed to find this hidden track. As for the song itself it's a pretty standard but very good rock song. And of course it has the anything but standard vocals of Godforbid to set it apart. For me this was a first listen 5/5

Karaoke Burial

Very strong beat. I feel the vocals can clash with it a bit at times, but just a bit. I feel this one is ripe for getting stuck in your head, but I'm going through these a little faster than others so that hasn't happened yet. 3/5

Power Drunk

Very understated. The bass is good, but other than that all there really is is some mediocre bongos, some quite weak vocals, and noises that kinda just cover up the song. Low 2/5

Powderbomb

Yeah I can jive with this. I can get behind this. It's just got a great energetic feel that really makes you wanna move, especially that second half. Love when a song goes boom. 5/5

Romance is Dead

The slower parts are kinda just a weaker version of Inside You which we'll get to later, but the rest is a completely different song. It's loud, it's got some good brass in there, it's bombastic, it's really good. Not the best but really good. It's so weird how it keeps weaving between these 2 completely different sounds. The average of the song is like a high 3/5 but let it be know that this is a very odd song to rate.

Closing thoughts: This one is quite a lot less consistent than the last one, but I guess that comes with having a lot more songs. But when this album hits it HITS. Those last 3 songs especially are better than anything on the first album. And tbh I prefer an album with a few huge bangers compared to one that's just decent from top to bottom. (side note added later: but why is like a 3rd of the whole album secret?? Like I get 1 maybe 2 but 5/16???)

Enlightenment's For Suckers

Bullet Math

Decent instrumental on this one but the vocals are little weak. There's a part in the chorus where Godforbid sounds like Squidward, and depending on who you are that might make the whole song unlistenable or it will be the part that gets stuck in your head for some reason and you'll come to like it. I'm in the later half so I think it's an alright song. 3/5

Stockholm Syndrome

Very consistent song this one. It's pretty strong all around, a very nice beat, a bit of that jazzy brass. It's a bit repetitive I feel tho, with only that one bit about 2 minutes in that I feel really breaks up the song. 4/5

Disco City

OOooohoohoo! Take me down to the Disco City indeed! I'm a very big fan of the energy with this one. It's also got some great variety in sound, avoiding the problem of the previous song, yet still feels very coherent. 5/5

Eristocrats (Discordia pt. II)

This is the song that pretty handily overshadowed the og Discordia, and as I said earlier, I think that's quite justified, this is a great song. It trades out the previous honky tonk instrumental and "ooooo" background vocals for chanting and more rockabilly instrumentals (I think. I haven't really listened to rockabilly but that's the vibe I get). Point is that this song has upped it's energy to where instead of hearing stories round a campfire in the woods you're now hearing them from the crowd around a carnival barker. Does any of what I just said make sense? I dunno. 5/5

Johnny Wouldn't Die

Perfectly passable song. I think the kinda underplayed vocals give this one a very unique voice. However it loses all the points for that from the "go johnny go" part, which is a low of the album for me. Perhaps that's hypocritical since I liked the squidward singing in Bullet Math and this is kinda similar, but it's my list and I do what I want. low 3/5

Closing thoughts: There's a very important reason I gave each of these albums a few days to really sink in instead of giving my literal first impressions, and that's because I'm someone who's opinion of a song can change a LOT over repeated listenings. One of my favorite albums is Mouth Dreams by Neil Cicierega, and I hated it on my first listen. And honestly the majority of THD songs are like that for me, where it takes at least a few listens before they really click for me. I bring this up now because wow I did NOT jive with this album on first listen (except for Eristocrats, but I've been listening to that one for a while now). I literally remember thinking "wow it's a shame that I'm going to be so negative twords nearly this whole album". But then I listened to it a bit more, and it really grew on me. Disco City in particular went from real zero to hero, but even the rest of them went from 1s and 2s to 3s and 4s.

Oh btw I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but this and one other album we'll get to and another one later are technically EPs. But I don't care and I'm just calling them albums.

The Heart Goes to Heaven, the Head Goes to Hell

Adapt

This one flips a lot between the more "boogie" side of the THD sound and the more "pretty" side. I think they make it work pretty well tho. The bit at 2:45 is a particular highlight, so much so that it almost makes this otherwise 4/5 song into a 5. Problem is that the song definitely should have ended at the end of the section, at about 3:23. But as is the song just kinda continues with more of the same and feels like it more stops than ends. So close to full marks, so much so that I could make a full marks version by just trimming the audio file myself, but as is it's a 4/5.

Becky's New Car

I honestly get almost the vibes of slam poetry from this one. Maybe that's because I feel the instrumentals are definitely not the strong part of this song. But other than that I love this song. The vocals are just beautiful. It's subdued but still dripping with emotion. Even there's a line or two where it almost sounds like a voice crack, this is such an amazing vocal work that I think it carries this song to a 4/5 on it's own.

Twist the Knife

I wanna say this one has vaudeville vibes but I have no idea if that's accurate. It's a fun and bouncy little ditty. I feel like this would be great music for a stroll in the park. 4/5

The U & I in Suicide

There's a 8 note loop that the bass guitar is doing in this song. It reminds me of something but I can't quite place it. Other than that my feelings on this one are pretty tepid. It's not really bad but I don't really like it either. 2/5

Charlie's Inferno

Great song. 5/5. Ok now that that's out of the way I'm gonna rant a bit.

I'm glad that at least one of THD's songs hit semi-mainstream-in-niche-online-circles. It means there's tons of cool fanart, discussion, and even animatics about this song. I've also heard that this song's success may have led to THD making their 2 most recent albums, which if true is great! Buuuuut- it's still kinda frustrating how much this is like the only song that people talk about. Part of that may be that there aren't really any other songs in their discography that sounds like this (some are kinda close but not quite), so people who came to the band from this song didn't stick around for the rest. Part of it's also definitely people not even trying the rest of their songs. And it's just a bummer sometimes to search the tag on here and only see stuff about one of their songs. Sorry if you were waiting this entire time to hear my thoughts and takes on this song but the entire reason I made this massive post was to talk about about every song other than this. Again tho, great song. 5/5.

Karmakaze

What even is this? There's some decent parts but like 70% of this song is the words "c-c-c-c-cultural k-k-k-kamekaze". And even the decent 30% would still be like 2 or 3 if the whole song was that. Worst one since Dating Tips, maybe worse. 1/5

Loving Parasite

Last third is a little weak but the rest is astounding. Great beat. Great bass. Excellent chorus. Very standing-up-in-the-middle-of-those-spinny-things-at-playgrounds-while-a friend-spins-you-core. 5/5

One More Try

Back to the slam poetry vibe but in a very different way (honestly more fitting descriptor here but I write these in order and don't feel like rephrasing the last one). Out of all THD songs this would be one you could probably put in the background and have it not be too distracting. Buyer's Remorse

Grungy. A little dirty. It starts with a real thunk and then gets floatier throughout the song before going right back to the weighty stuff at the peak. The thunk part is the best. 3/5

Bored

Ok so you know that one rhythm heaven minigame with the rocket where you need to go donk donk? That minigame's grizzled dad became part of this song. Anyway this song is really good. Got a sleezy, kinda shadowy feel. 5/5

My Pen Is a Shiv

Another song that kinda goes in a lot of directions, rarely repeating itself. But all the different places it goes are good and work. Great song if you like Godforbit just holding a note with the vague suggestion of words while a good beat happens, cause that's the only vit that repeats. 4/5

Inside You

I feel this is the rare combo of slower song with high energy. Said energy builds pretty satisfyingly to a peak near the end. 3/5

Party's Dead

Another beautiful emotionally resonant song. The song tells of hopefulness to change, but uncertainty of if the singer has the strength to make those changes and I think that vibe would come across even if you didn't understand the lyrics. Plus this one actually has some really good instrumentals, so I give it 5/5

Closing thoughts: I'm very mixed on this one. There's some great stuff here like Charlie's Inferno and the emotional songs, but there's also like 2 and a half stinkers which isn't bad but is more than this band normally has. But what sticks in my mind most is just the feeling that this album has a lot of good songs that just a little pizzazz away from being amazing.

Drugs and Guns for Everyone

No Roots

Generally just a great energy with this one. Very strong chorus that really gets stuck in your head. Lyrics are pretty repetitive honestly but other than that it's good. If I were to assign this song an action, it would be doing a big kick into the air. 4/5

The Cops!

Dire. Threatening. Hints of grandiose. That's the vibe I get from this song, and given the subject matter I imagine that's intentional. This one isn't much of a dancer but definitely a head bobber. Best part I think is the end where it really drills into you the haunting line "your freedom don't belong to you". 4/5

Throwing Up

I had the unfortunate experience of this coming up in shuffle while I was listening to music with my mom. That aside this song has some really good drums, guitar, and vocals (which to be fair is kinda a given for THD but this one I think is even above normal). Once again the airy-er part about near the end is a highlight but the rest of the song is also stellar. If you avoid my mistake of listening to this when your parents are present this is a 5/5

Comes out fists swinging and slowly mellows out before getting into this album's first instance of "pretty instrumentation that I don't know how to describe" which we'll be seeing a few times in this album. It almost feels like this song shouldn't work, like it should clash with itself, but I feel that having it start so high makes the more subdued later parts feel a lot weightier than they otherwise would have. 5/5

Party Mom and Invisible Dad

Has that "song doesn't start until 20 seconds in" problem I talked about with Squares but here I think the song that follows is good enough to where it doesn't bother me as much. Speaking of good music, this is debatably that. It's got 70s infomercial vibes which just sound like a bad foundation but they make it work. It's almost got a Charlie's Inferno vibe. It also has some of that "pretty instrumentals that I can't describe" in the chorus. If someone hated this song I would absolutely get it, but for me this is a high 4/5

Junkies In Love

I bet there are people who headcanon that the titular junkies in this song go on to become the parents in the last song. This one has a wonderful old school romance song vibe, with of course the THD edge painted on. Gets especially strong in the later half. The piano also adds a lot. 5/5

The Face For It

This one I feel has each element just a little off. The vocals are weak, the beat is bland and the rest of the instrumentals are awkward. Any one on their own would still have it be a fine song, but since EVERYTHING is a little off it ends up having the song as a whole being pretty not good. 2/5

70's Tuxedos

Buttery smooth it also has a few seconds of that "pretty instrumentals that I can't describe" near the middle with is a nice shake up that prevents the song from getting repetitive. I also feel like there's something weird going on with this song music theory wise, but I think it works and helps the song sound nice. 4/5

Goldfish Brain

It's ok. Instrumental could be a bit stronger. Backing vocals noticeably above par. Most 3/5 song so far.

Time Machine

Oooh. OOOH. Takes 21 seconds to start this time but honestly I think this song uses it kinda well, with the instant drop into this song's aggressively strong piano. Said piano also gets the vibe of going back in time all on its own. I imagine it may be a common chord progression in reverse or something (reminder: still don't know music. if that's embarrassingly wrong I'm sorry). The harsh parts are epic and the gentle parts are emotionally gripping. Easy 5/5

A Drink To Death

It's got a unique sound. Not one that I particularly care for tho. I struggle to really say anything about this one. Not really bad- but as the ratings I give are based on my own opinion I have to give it a high 2/5. The ytp-like bit at the end is neat and kinda funny, but that's not song.

The Last Ones

15 seconds. This one's got a great almost western style guitar that leads into the gentle somber vocals that drip with emotion, all the while backed by a very strong beat. The bits with the bells is also partially good. If we were to divide THD's songs into danceable and non-danceable this would be one of the very strongest in the later category.

Closing Thoughts: I feel this is the most unique sounding album so far. I feel like I could identify any song from here just based off the distinct vibe they all share. Quality wise tho it's pretty standard; a few greats, a lot of good, and a few ehhs.

History Is A Suicide Note

Savages

Pretty sure this is THD's second most popular song, and I think it definitely earns that spot. The lyrics got a nice flow to them, the chorus is great, the instruments are unique but not overpowering at all. You don't need me to tell you this song is good. The only reason I wouldn't give it full marks is just because I've listened to it so many times that I'm a little burned out on it. But let's not kid ourselves. 5/5

Fake

If I could describe this song in a word, it would be heavy. Not in terms of subject matter (but being a THD it isn't entirely light in that regard) but this song is heavy in the way that every note has a real weight to it. It's soo bassy. I feel like this is a song music snobs would hate but for me this is another 5/5

Emergency

Very early 2000s emo kid brand of metal, or at least that's the vibe I get as someone who doesn't know what I'm talking about. It's got a nice sense of building, it only really goes down in intensity once in the whole song. 4/5

Echo Chamber

Pretty man voice 👍 4/5

Pendulumonium

This song is like if Karmakaze was good. It's a LOT of the same words repeating over and over, but it has excellent vocals and the way he says "swoop" just gets in my brain just the right way. 4/5

Closing Thoughts: If you ask me every single song here is good. I think ACDID is still my favorite release because of how high the highs of that are, but this is the album with the least low lows by far. Any song with this album cover shows up in shuffle and I am happy to hear it.

Your Parents Are Sellouts

Intro

Not much here is there? Ohh I know! I have nowhere else to put this so let me go more in depth with how I choose my rating for each track! There are 2 main ways I listen to music; going through a release in order, start to finish, and my own person shuffle (usually based off the artist, so for example I have a shuffle of every THD song I like). On my scale a 1 is a song I actively dislike. I skip these on album listens. 2s are inoffensive. I still don't like them and they are not allowed into the shuffle, but I don't skip them. 3s are allowed in the shuffle, but when I play it I may skip past the 3s to get to the good stuff from time to time. 4s are a good song. When skipping past 3s in a shuffle I'll see this song and say "this is good". 5s are the premium beef. These are ones where I hit the loop 1 option and listen to this one song on repeat for who knows how long. With these definitions this into is technically a 2. It adds to the album and is so short skipping it isn't really worth the effort, but it also isn't a song so there's no way I'm putting this on shuffle.

The Unpossible

Oooh! Oooh Yeah Yeah! Oooh! Oooh! Oooh Yeah Yeah! Additionally; this song has a nice bounciness. And while the bass isn't doing anything flashy here to make it the center of attention, it does what it does great and makes the whole song work. 3/5

Dinosaur

Groovalicious! … Man I should have made this like a "reviewing every song in 10 words or less" type thing. It is very hard to come up with unique things to say about each of these. Like what song are we on? By my count like 60. So yeah my review of this one is "Groovalicious." 3/5

Shutup You're Stupid

Has vibes of both margaritaville-esque romance song and the adrenaline deliciously crunchy evil guitar. 4/5

Hoodlum

A relaxing day strolling through the park. A wonderfully pretty song. Obviously that's in contrast with the lyrics but that doesn't make the song sound less pretty to me. 4/5

Guys Are Gross

I really dig the synth making the womp sound in this. Wonderfully jazzy, with some unique instruments that help it stand out, not only among the rest of THD's discography but this album which tends to have songs of a similar vibe. 5/5

Date Rape U

Man I am glad I'm doing this on Tumblr and not one of the social media where I would get in trouble for just saying the name of this song. Anyway this one feels to me less like a song and more some freestyle poetry overtop some instrumentals. It's a decent instrumental but there isn't really any flow or rhythm for me to get into. 2/5

Everyone's Trying To Kill Me

A song where the bass goes unreasonably hard? From THD? Why I never! (the joke is that this is common. especially in the next album. Shout out to Jeremy Page). Anyways this one has a bit of a spy movie vibe, if that makes sense. Or at least the instrumental does. 4/5

Bad Vibes

The keyboard is actually the carry here, which you don't see much from this band. This song also has a good amount of flavors but I think they blend quite well. 5/5

F2F

Tango vibes. The woody percussion is really pleasant. 3/5

Punch In The Face

Ok so as someone whose experience with music reviewing consists of the contents of this post; a lot of time my tactic is to point out a part of the song that stands out. Like the vocals, the beat, a specific instrument, etc. With this one I can't do that, because quite frankly there isn't anything that stands out, each piece of this song is pretty standard I think. And yet; this song is amazing when put together. It's so much better than the sum of its parts that it's almost mind boggling. Out of all the songs so far this is the one I would most wanna hear from someone who knows music theory on why this works. 5/5

EVL PPL

It's got an almost lullaby quality. It's pure distilled vibes. The instruments really just have a dream like quality. (can you tell I'm writing this while very sleepy?) And I feel it's probably the song the shows off what this album is like best. 5/5

La Di Frickin Da

It's almost a high 3/low 4, but there's that one bit in the middle where the lyrics just have no rhythm. There's just way too many syllables. It honestly ruins the whole song for me. Could maybe still be a 3 on a good day but for now 2/5

Closing Thoughts: This is probably the album that's best at having a consistent vibe. Which is bad for this review thing because describing vibes is like one of my 2 ways I can think of to talk about most songs. But I think it makes the album work better when viewed as a whole. The heavy bops aren't absent but there's a lot more pleasant melodies and chill times, and while that may not be the first I think of from this band I still love this album and think it was executed great. Even the "lows" of the album I think still add to the overall experience.

Exploitopia

The Age Of Men

Definitely starting off the album strong. It of course has an amazing baseline, but spoilers; that's true of pretty much every song in this album. As for this song's specific merits; it has a certain ephemeralness that I think really complements the theme of time passing. And the end has a great syncopation to it. Even the way it transitions to the post song old-timey audio is particularly good here. 5/5

A Million Bots

Pretty standard punk rock song but it does it great. By now you should know I love a crunchy guitar. 4/5

Everybody's Robbing Everyone

Excellent flow to this one. The words just string together in a way that just works great. The funky synth also gives this song a unique sound. 5/5

You're Doing Too Much Cocaine

I wonder what the message of this song is. Anyway the drums are really good in this one. But that guitar bit at the end is just sbwgdtdbskwkls, one of the best few seconds of the whole album. The guitar bit is 5/5 but the song as a whole is 4/5

Gravity Of The Situation

Has vibes of those songs that manual laborers would sing to keep rhythm in the olden times, you know the type. The brass is really good here. 3/5

Before You Were Born

Great sorrow and rot vibes. An angsty animatic of this song would go hard. The drums are going off. There are some slower parts that I think go on a bit too long or get repetitive, but overall still a good song. 4/5

Tonight

The ultimate crunchy song. Anthem of bad decisions. 4/5

About You

Weirdly I think the chorus is the worst part of this song. Something about it is just slow, but not in the good way like songs from the last album. The rest is decent tho. 3/5

Buddha Was A Rich Boy

This is one that you can really move to. And I think that it manages to keep the energy up without being at 100 the whole time and burning itself out. 5/5

Kill The Rat

The beginning is a little slower that I would have liked but one it ~45 seconds in it goes so hard. It just has such a climatic sound to it. This is an end of a character arc song. 5/5

Cleanse My Algorithm

Appropriately techno sound to this one. Something about this one makes it so infectious to sing along to, especially the "our nervous systems weren't supposed to stretch around the earth" part. 5/5

Crooked Heart

Way different vibe to this one. Almost sounds like it would fit better in Your Parents Are Sellouts. If it was in the album tho I think this one could stand alongside the best of that album. The backing vocals are especially good, as well as the twangy strings. It also builds to a very satisfying crescendo (I think I'm using that word right). 5/5

The Toilet That Killed Elvis

Oh hey it's been a while since we got a really good melancholic song. This one I feel is a little too up tempo to make it a sad song tho. Still sounds great tho. It also brings out some amazing brass at the end. 5/5

Closing Thoughts: This should be obvious just based off my ratings, but this is my favorite album from THD. If you remember it was the pure peak that was this album that got me to do this whole big project. I honestly wish I could say more about the songs in this one but at this point I'm really running out of steam on how to talk about music.

The Singles

Face in the Sun

For the most part I don't go back and edit stuff in this post because if I edited it every time my opinion on a song changed it would never be done. The reason I bring this IP is because this is pretty much what I said I wanted Miss America to be, way back when I talked about the first album. This is a very similar song (which checks out since I think this came out around the same time) except this one is a lot more slow and mellow. And despite this being exactly what I asked for I think this is the inferior song. It has some really good strings but other than that it just doesn't have enough emotion to make a song like this work. 2/5

How to Get Money

It's an odd one, but also weirdly kinda nothing. Like a lot is going on but none of it is particularly noteworthy. As an example the way the backing vocals say "money" is nice, but they use that same voice clip too much. It doesn't ruin the song but it's still pretty mid. 2/5

Don't Go

This one feels like a failed experiment. It's going for this smooth groovy jazz, similarly mellow to Face in the Sun. But the problem is that this kind of song works best when you have a buttery smooth vocalist. And while I love Godforbid's vocals I would never describe them as smooth. So this ends up feeling kind of like someone singing karaoke. Also the instrumentals are nothing impressive. 1/5

Steady and Slow

Sorry that so far all of these singles have just got the reaction of "they aren't very good" from me, but I'm afraid this one is just the same. It has vibes of the song a band of highschoolers would make as their rock band in a garage. Which has a certain appeal, especially since it's definitely better quality than a genuine garage band, but it still has that vibe. 2/5

Lucky Me

Finally a single with some energy. Like this isn't the best song, the horns are whatever are really good and it uses them a lot, which is good. And even the stuff that isn't horns is decent, but man after those first 3 singles a 3/5 like this is nice.

Chicken Claw

The chorus is pretty good. 3/5

Marilyn Loves Heroin

Great instruments here. The trumpet(??) is quite good and the flute(?) works excellently as a garnish that doesn't overstay it's welcome. The song is a little too long but it's still a low 4/5

How to Get More Money (And Not Have to Shoot Somebody)

This came out 7 years after How to Get Money, and it is definitely just a more refined version of that song. It's better than that one is pretty much every way. 3/5

Ode to the Scumbag

Ok so this is interesting; the last single came out in 2011, and this one came out AS I WAS WORKING ON THIS POST, so 2025. No idea why there's such a big gap there. Anyway this song is pretty good. It feels like it could go alongside the songs in Exploitopia, which you should know is high praise. The best part is probably the chorus, with the high note "up"s and low note "down"s all the while the main lyrics have a very nice flow to them. 4/5

Closing thoughts: so most of these are pretty bad. like some of them are decent but not enough to go seek them out, since if you use Spotify or something you won't even see any of these except Ode to the Scumbag. I recommend checking out Marilyn Loves Heroin, but other than that you can skip these. Oh also we still aren't done. when I checked the Wikipedia earlier there were also 2 more EPs!

Hating New People

Talk Dirty To me

For these EPs I'm listening to them in a YouTube playlist of unofficial uploads, and for some reason the title of this one is capitalized like that. I'm not going to go through the effort to see if that's wrong so I'll just assume it's correct. As for the song, most of it is pretty mid, except for the short rockabilly bits like the one at the end. I like those bits. low 3/5

Hey White Boy

Wow. This song uses a certain something as a sort of base. And I don't want to spoil what that something is, because I think the shock that comes from hitting play on this song and hearing what you hear is just too good. It has to be experienced. The only thing more surprising than what this song does is that it does it well. Like they really did just make a bop out of [redacted] huh? This may be contentious but this is a 5/5

also for some reason there is a month old comment on the 14 year old upload of this song that reads "I want him im ovulating come here god forbid". I just wanted to share that.

I'm Too Sexy

I'm not super familiar with the song this is a cover of, but from what I vaguely remember this is quite different. The instrumentals are really good, but the vocals are just kinda... too much for most of the song. Depending on who you ask this could rank very high or very low, for me the good and bad parts average out to about 3/5

It's a Man's Man's Man's World

Grandiose feel to this one. Unique sound but doesn't stray too far from the sound of THD. 3/5

Mr. Grinch

The backing vocals add a nice layer, but other than that this is a very similar song to the original Mr Grinch which this is a cover of, nothing major is changed. Godforbid even has a similarly deep voice to the original. Like; if not for them adding the word bastard in I feel like you could convince someone who hasn't heard it in many years that this is the original Mr Grinch. eh I dunno 3/5?

Fairytale of New York

ok so when I look up this EP, some of the only things on it are from like review sites, and on all of them it's only the above songs, this one is never listed. And yet it's here in this youtube playlist I found and I have no idea where it came from. May as well talk about it here. So this song is pretty good. Feels kinda like something from a musical. It's also nice to hear more substantial lyrics for Naoko Takamoto, who normally does the excellent backing vocals. But yeah good energy to this one. 4/5

Closing Thoughts: I feel like on the That Handsome Devil iceberg we are definitely quite low down. So far there hasn't been any covers as far as I can tell, and yet this one has quite a few. Too Sexy and Mr Grinch I knew immediately, but Man Man and Fairytale I only know are covers thanks to youtube comments. For all I know Talk Dirty and White Boy are also covers, but I couldn't find anything on that. Quality wise it's pretty decent. Most of it is still debatably not worth the effort to go find it, but Hey White Boy is definitely a stand out that I recommend all THD fans check out.

The Jungle Book

Good beat to this one. Good marching music, very cheery save for that bit at the end. 4/5

Forget what I said about Friends, now THIS is marching music. Or really just workout music. It still has a distinct identity from Friends tho even if they both have very strong beats. This one also has some really good guitar. 5/5

Fire

Wait oh my god how did it take me this long to realize this is LITERALLY The Jungle Book from Disney. Admittedly it has been a while so things like the elephant's song I didn't recognize. But yeah this is literally all covers of songs from the movie. Well since this song is based on arguably the most iconic song from said movie this one is obviously pretty good. It goes for a bit of a more sinister sound than the original, while still keeping the nice catchiness from the original. The scatting at the end is also really nice. 4/5

Bare

The direction of this is... interesting. It kinda rains on it if that makes sense, really brings the mood down. I don't think it works. 2/5

Home

It has been so long since I watched The Jungle Book. I don't remember this at all. But this feels like an exposition song with a music box motif used to introduce a very high society character in a show. Not really what I'm looking for from THD. Better than the last but still 2/5

Closing thoughts: Man what a weird note to end on. A Disney movie cover album of all things. Overall it's pretty good tho. The last 2 are a little eh but the rest is good. If you wanna see THD do take some Disney songs in some unexpected directions I would say give this a listen.

Closing Thoughts for this Whole Dang Project

That was... way more songs than I expected. Like when I had the idea for this I looked at their discography on Spotify and it was bigger than expected, and then I figured out there's even more than that! So this project in turn is way bigger than I would have imagined. It took me like 4ish months working on and off on this. And frankly I do not think my music critique abilities were up to this level of challenge. Finding things to say for some of these songs was quite tricky. But it was still enjoyable to go through all these songs, see how the band evolved, and just learn about a lot of good music I otherwise wouldn't have. Like by the end of this my THD shuffle has 76 tracks.

But I hope at least some of you enjoyed reading through all these words I wrote. See you again sometime. I'm off to listen to literally any other band.

Ok, so. I've been working on something for the past few days... It's a Gravity Falls AU I called "The magic of sight AU" and this is the premise: "Stan gains the hability to predict the future when he has been around 4 years in the streets by a spanish witch in Colombia."

But before I say anything else, I'll show you the last drawing I made about it.

Ok, this will be a semi-long post explaining the base that I have planned already (because I'm a lunatic and I've made three alternate timelines for this AU, but I'll make a separate post about that).

How does it work?

Thanks to what is technically a curse Stan gets suddens glimpses of the future. It usually has to do with him, but sometimes he sees other things (that he can take advantage of, like, a lottery number or someone hiding something valuable somewhere he's close to, etc). The info is always useful, one way or another, but it can be misinterpreted (or acted bad upon). They can be about immediate danger or something that'll cause a chain reaction that'll affect him (negatively) in weeks/months.

His first vision was about being run over by a car two days after getting the power.

When he gets the visions his pupils shrink like crazy and a mark appears on his chest.

(This one's the mark. It doesn't glow, it looks more like a tattoo than anything.)

At first it was very noticeable that he was getting a vision by the way he acted right after. But with time you wouldn't be able to tell if not for the eyes and mark.

– Some fun-facts:

Every time he tried to end it all he got a vision about his next happier time. (That, or the poor disturbed soul that would find his body.)

He got the ability right when he got to Colombia (it hadn't been even a month). The witch gave him that power because he helped her with something and she saw how miserable he was.

This ability has saved his life more than once, but it has also put him in danger (better don't think about that cult he started).

• STORYLINE

After he finds out he's been blessed he's kind of in denial and thinks nothing of it. But after it happens a few times with insignificant stuff, and then wins the lottery (not much, maybe like 500 dollars from a scrape) he finally accepts that maybe something's up.

After that he tries to "control" it for a bit, but quickly realises that it is at random.

He's already a bit involved in iykyk (drogs), but thanks to his new power he manages to avoid bad people's attention.

After some time he lets himself get carried away thinking that he's untouchable. That's when he hits his head against a wall (metaphorically). He misinterpretes the vision and fucks up in a deal, making someone important mad at him (not Rico though). He has to flee and hide for a bit.

And that's mostly how he spends the next few years, he manages to live comfortable for a while, amassing money and meeting people, sometimes the good ones others the bad ones. Then something happens and he has to leave, sometimes he can take his money with him, others he can't (cuz he had to use it to pay back to someone, or to escape).

Most of the times things go wrong because he misinterpreted a vision, but it also is because there was nothing he could really do.

One time he got involved in some messy stuff (houman traffic) by mistake, and the only way he found out he was taking kids to somewhere horrible was thanks to, you guessed it, his power. He called in some favours and got the kids to a safe place, then he ran away from South America for good (he just crossed someone really powerful), but not before tipping off the police about that particular gang, with luck that mess would distract them from him getting back to the US, and if the universe feels generous, get them in jail for a while. Even though if it probably meant that they would look after him after they sort everything out (they did).

After some time back in the US he, unintentionally, really, joined/reformed a cult (it was more like a bunch of people adored him cuz of his power). It started because he decided to help someone after getting a vision, and then he realised he had just saved someone important in the weird church of a small town (practically everyone in there was involved in some dark stuff already thanks to that church). He got invited, and since he was on hiding he thought that this could be a good hiding spot for a while (and he was offered a high position in the "church").

He realised pretty quickly that something was off, but it took him longer to realise what exactly (he knew he was in some kind of cult, but not how bad it really was). And when, a year and a month after he joined, he came across some kind of basement destined for very disturbing rituals he flew the hell out of there the same night. (And he obviously called the cops on them.)

(They hadn't proposed him to join them yet cuz he was a newbie, he had to have at least five years of experience in the church to join the heavy rituals.)

After he got involved the church, he started using his visions to maintain his status, everyone there started seeing him as some kind of Messiah. So they respected him a lot, that's one of the main reasons he didn't leave earlier.

(He may or may not have eaten human meat on his time here. If he has, he has no idea.)

After that he went form place to place, amassing money again. But this time he kept himself away from the drugs stuff (at least for a good while). He mainly went to fight rings to bet or participate in illegal boxing fights.

He pulled some more scams, this time on individual people instead of making products. He learned his lesson.

He was living good, or as good as one can. But then he mistakenly interpreted a vision and fucked up big. The guys he crossed back in South America had send a few people after him after they escaped out of prison and managed to regroup. And they found him.

He almost dies and had to lay low again for a good while. He was almost out of money when Ford asked for his help.

He got there, and before he knocks on the door he gets a vision of Ford getting sucked into the portal. He doesn't know what the hell that means, but he says to himself that he has to keep his cool and, even though he doesn't understand how the hell that vision could happen, he'll try to make it not happen.

He can't keep his cool. It's hearing Ford send him away and crash out.

The fight goes the same until Stan sees the open portal. He gets a flashback to the vision (but not a vision) and stops mid speech. Ford realises that the portal is open and goes to close it, he trips (cuz mf is fucking sleep deprived) causing him to start getting pulled. And Stan tries to save him.

I contemplated for a while about sharing this, but since a lot of you have been a great help while I was in dire needs, I feel like I owe you guys some updates regarding to my sick kittens.

(tw: pet grief, pet d**th, sick kittens)

When I first posted my past announcement, I had one of my foster cats (adult) in the process of recovering from a cat flu, one kitten who passed from a virus outbreak, one kitten dealing with a fever, and two kittens fighting bacterial infections and possible virus infection that they may have contracted from their brother.

Ever since your donations and help, I've managed to order more meds, buy a home nebulizer kit (plus all the necessary meds and liquids to go with it), and take Mai to a different vet for further consultation when the first meds didn't help and had instead made her condition worse.

Micky, the adult cat, has since fully recovered and has been officially adopted alongside her brother, Goofy. As of yesterday, she is living in her new forever home with two new sisters and another brother. Lili (or Lee, since we've found out that he's a boy), has fully recovered from his fever, which turned out to have taken its sweet time getting down because he wasn't reacting well to his first meds. He got rapidly better once we've taken him off the initial meds and switched them into new ones that worked the best for him.

Robbie (aka Nonna Jr.), has been recovering really well ever since she started the nebulizer treatment daily. Having the kit at home has helped us save a lot of the cost that would've drained our savings if only we had decided to take her to the hospital for the treatments instead. She's currently on the mend and is going through her final set of treatments before she can finally get out of quarantine and can return to reunite with her sibling.

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our precious Mai. Unlike her siblings, she was already facing a ton of health problems since birth, leading her to develop slower than the others, with signs of dwarfism, recurring pneumonia, and malnutrition (she couldn't latch on to her mom's milk and we had to give her formula ever since she was a newborn). We've been looking for the possible reason for her underweight issues and had first thought it was due to her dwarfism, but she may have other undetected issues with her body that we only started finding out after going to the 3rd vet.

Mai had one good day where she was playful again after getting the right meds and injections to deal with her stomach issues, but after having a meal one night, she started throwing up and her condition deteriorated rapidly until she passed away the next night. She passed in my arms last weekend, and it was the hardest thing that I had to go through since I've been hands-on in taking care of her since birth (I even assisted her mom's labour until she was born).

I hope this explains why I've been absent the past week, since I needed a break from everything and I've been spending my nights missing and crying over Mai and focusing on making sure that Robbie gets better. The next ordeal is returning Robbie to the main cat room and watching over her to make sure that she won't stress out once she notices that Mai is gone since they were bonded since birth.

For those of you who follow me on Patreon (and have access to my writing journal), you may have noticed that I've just started writing again the past few days. I'm trying to finish some stuff while I am coping and it's been helping me heal from all of this, so I might be dropping something new even though it may take some time.

Thank you again for everyone who has been helping, donating, praying, and keeping my cats in your thoughts. I'm so sorry that I couldn't give all positive updates to my situation, but things are (hopefully) looking good from this point forward.

as for your question, it's actually hilarious how quick i was able to come up with a gift for ty (in comparison, it took me longer to figure out what ty would get ash but i eventually figured out what it's gonna be, and i'll explain that in a bit)

ok so ash's present for ty is gonna be a chef's knife, and it's perfect! it's classy, it's practical (though ty would definitely argue that something this expensive isn't, but that's besides the point) and it's something ash knows he'll like. it took her forever to decide on a brand and model (mainly cause she doesn't really know much about the intricacies of well crafted kitchen wear, but she does her research and manages to snag one that fits both tyler's style and needs just before it got sold out) and she's been excited to give it to him since, though she'd never admit it lmao

as for tyler's reaction to the present, he'd be shocked. definitely would try to argue that he can't accept something that expensive and would even try to bargain with ash about it, but ash manages to convince him that he actually deserves good things and that she was fine with spending a little extra since the knife is worth it. plus, if ty still feels guilty for it, then he can just make it up to her by cooking her favorite meals for her. ty eventually agrees, and the knife is used daily and handled with far too much care and it makes ash happy to see she picked the right gift.

tyler on the other hand could not think of anything to get ashlyn, not when all the stuff he wants to get her costs an arm and a leg. he thinks about working part time, but he doubts the pay would be enough, so he spends more time thinking until he finally decides on a present. he's on his phone searching for handmade gift ideas and finds an old reddit post talking about how good a weighted blankets is for helping them sleep, and he immediately falls down the rabbit hole of crochet tips and where to get the best yarn and hook. one extensive tutorial video and many failed attempts later, and he manages to finish crocheting the biggest blanket he's ever held in his hands. it looks decent enough from afar, but he knows it isn't perfect. it'll have to do.

he spends the rest of the day nervous about handing it over, unsure if he did the right thing or if he fucked it up by making something rather than just getting her what she'd want. when he gets his present from ash, he's even more self deprecating and a little bit guarded about giving her the gift, unable to stop himself from comparing such an expensive and thoughtful gift to the imperfect blanket he's got wrapped up in a paper bag. he contemplates lying and telling her he forgot, but ashlyn already spots the paper bag and gestures for him to hand it over.

bracing himself for ash's eventual disappointment, he hands over the gift and waits for her reaction. "i know it ain't much, not even half as much as your fancy ass present, but i did some research and a lot of people said this helps with sleeping and stress, so i took a shot and-"

"you made this?" ash cuts him off, but not unkindly. her expression is unreadable when her gaze shift back to him, but the look in her eyes is focused, intense in a way that has tyler's heartbeat racing against his ribcage.

"yeah." he finds himself answering after a few seconds too long.

her gaze turns to the blanket once more, her fingers gripping the uneven edge tighter as she looked it over with critical eyes.

mistaking her silence as rejection, tyler masks his own disappointment with a sigh. he'll let himself wallow in shame once he's able to figure out a way to make it up to her.

"look, i know it's not perfect and some of the pattern looks crooked, so if you want i can just–"

his next word dies out as soon as he felt ash's hand on his own, squeezing reassuringly in the same way he always does when he's trying to get her to calm down.

"i was actually planning to get one soon, but i don't need to anymore." she tells him, meeting his gaze and meaning every word.

relief washes over him in waves, but a part of him feels even more flustered now that he sees the way she's been holding onto the blanket so protectively.

it's not worth it, he thinks. he barely did a decent job.

"are you sure?" he asks, just because he can't seem to shut up and take the win. not at all used to things going his way or being this easy.

maybe it should.

ash nods her head in answer, making a show of putting the blanket over her shoulders and sighing contently as she snuggles deeper, nearly burying herself underneath the thing.

she looks adorable ridiculous.

he snorts, partly at the way he's underestimated how big the blanket was in comparison to her, and partly to hide the swell of happiness inside of his chest.

she actually loved his gift, imperfections and all.

maybe he could make her a better one in the future.

but for now, the two of them are content sitting together, enjoying the comfort of each other's presence.

Something Wrong (Ryuji Sakamoto x G/N!Reader)

So I'm splitting this into two parts, here is part 1, I'm struggling trying to do part 2 but I will try to get it done whenever I can. I do have some metaphor headcanons I will post before part 2 so yall have something until part 2 is done. Anyway I hope you like this first part!

Ryuji could tell that something was off with Y/N during the last few days, their usual cheerful personality was gone and instead, they were more quiet, distant from him and the others. He couldn't help but feel responsible because they had to keep their identities of them being the Phantom Thieves from them since the group kept on having to do phantom thieves business and not having time to do stuff with Y/N.

Now sitting at his desk, listening to the lecture, he glanced over at Y/N's desk, which was empty for the fourth day in a row now. 'They haven't been to school in a while, gonna have to stop by to check up on them.' He thought before hearing his name being called out by the teacher, making him jump a bit as the other students in the room laugh. But Ryuji didn't care, he was too concerned about Y/N and hoped that school will be done soon.

When school was finally let out, Ryuji couldn't wait any longer and hurried to Y/N's home, and now standing at the front door to the house, Ryuji knocked and waited for a moment before Y/N's mother appeared.

"Ah Ryuji, good to see you." She said with a smile as she let him in.

"Hi Mrs. L/N, I came to check on Y/N since they haven't been at school for the last few days." He said, clearly worried about Y/N.

"That's kind of you, they should be in their room. I have noticed them being more distant from everyone, I tried talking to them but they won't talk, maybe they'll talk to you since you two are close." She said with a sad look on her face.

"I'll try Mrs. L/N." Ryuji said as he then heading down the hallway to where Y/N's room was.

When he got to the room, he knocked on the door gently, not wanting to startle them. At first, there was no response, until he heard a faint voice saying 'come in'.

Opening the door, he stepped inside instantly noticing the blinds of the window being shut, making the room a bit dark except for the lamp near the bed being on.

Seeing Y/N laying down on the bed, Ryuji walked over and sat on the edge of the bed next to them.

"Hey, I wanted to stop by and check up on you since you haven't been to school for a few days, you okay?" He asked, his voice filled with concern for his close friend. "Not really..." was all he got as a response, they didn't even look at him.

"Did something happen? Is someone causing you trouble? Whoever they are, I'll make sure they don't bother you again." He said as he cracked his knuckles, not wanting anyone messing with Y/N.

"No, no one is bothering me Ryuji, just haven't been feeling well."

"Y/N, we have known each other since we were little, I know something is wrong, please, just tell me." He said as he gently laid his hand on their shoulder, but he didn't get a response. Sighing, he stood up from the bed and to the door, before closing the door, he looked back to Y/N, who was still laying down.

"Y/N, if you need anything, text me okay? I'm here for you."

With no response again, he closed the door and pulled out his phone to see some missed messages from the group chat. Opening the chat, he froze at the words that Akira had sent.

Akira: Guys, we have to meet up immediately, it's about Y/N.

Haru: Are they okay? I haven't seen them at school for the last few days.

Ann: I was wondering the same thing, I was getting worried.

Akira: I'll explain everything in person, we'll meet at LeBlanc. It's really urgent so we have to do it soon.

Ryuji: I'll be there in a few.

Sending that text, he then slipped his phone into his bag and made his way back to the front door, saying bye to Mrs. L/N as he left the house and hurried to LeBlanc, worried about what Akira had to share about what's going on with Y/N.

When Ryuji finally got to LeBlanc, he hurried in and saw Akira, Goro, Futaba, and Makoto sitting at one of the booths already, Morgana was sitting next to Akira and Ann, Haru, Yusuke haven't arrived yet.

"Got here as soon as I could, what's going on with Y/N?" Ryuji asked as he sat down across from Akira.

Akira, Goro, Makoto and Futaba looked at eachother with a worried look on their faces before Akira set his phone down on the table for him to see. And what he saw made him freeze. On the screen was the metaverse app, and in search result was Y/N's name.

Y/N had a shadow. And not only that, but also a palace.

Tomoya's name will be changed from "Aoki Tomoya" to Sunohara Tomoya ( yes, to match the spring aesthetic ).

Tomoya's character will be the current reincarnation of TAKAMINE THE MISTSPLITTER and their lore will be heavily tied to INAZUMA'S LORE.

Compared to this old blog where Tomo being alive is more of an AU, the new blog will have a MAIN VERSE where Tomo IS alive. Will be treated as if IN GAME they had been trapped in Ei's plane of Euthymia all this time right until Sumeru's interlude. They manage to break free after Wanderer's Irminsul incident. Currently they are an occasional Crux member that travels around all the nations. MORE TO BE EXPLAINED LATER.

NEW IMPORTANT TOMO LORE. Tomoya got CURSED by the ABYSS when they used to be Takamine and every reincarnation has it. MORE TO BE EXPLAINED LATER.

Tomo used to have a biological sister in the genshin verse. Well, not anymore lol. Making them an only child. At least they still got Chi - chan !

Summary: surprising Ryan as the special guest for Dublin In Ecstasy.

At the beginning of their relationship, they both agreed to keep it on the low. Sure, fans had seen them together when walking into a venue together before an Inhaler concert or when they recognized Ryan on the street. But it was never more than that. No outright posts or confirmations, only occasional sightings.

Having no outward social job made it easier to keep their privacy. There were no more eyes on them than necessary and no person spoke about what might go on between them behind closed doors.

Although, over time, it became tiring at times. Finding a new job which brought new engagement to her life made her realize how much she missed posting dumb photos of them at times. Not to show off, but rather to appreciate what she had found with him.

"Don't you ever just want to scream out loud how much you're in love?" A co-worker asked one day and since then the thoughts wouldn't get out of her head anymore.

She understood his point of view. The last time he was in a public relationship, it didn't work out and when everyone found out, they kept asking what happened. Not getting over them as quickly as they got over themselves. It was more exhausting in the end to handle the Internet's reaction over the break-up than their actual emotions.

Not wanting to pressure him into anything, she stayed quiet. Slightly heartbroken every time she saw one of her friends unapologetically posting with their partner.

Ryan noticed it almost immediately, the way she got more distant when they were out together and eyes lit up when seeing him. Where she once stood beside him when fans came up to ask for a picture and say hi, she now took a step back. Leaving him space he didn't want.

"Am I too dramatic about it?" she asked Grace one late night when the two of them accompanied the guys for a few shows. "I don't want to pressure him into anything, I just would like to be more out in the open with it. I never felt like it was necessary though recently I felt the need of posting stuff more than before. I don't know if that makes sense to be honest. It's hard to explain."

"I totally get it, Ryan will too," Grace said, putting her hand over the girl's. "You just have to tell him and he will waste no second in making a whole dump about you, I promise. I mean, it only took about two minutes for me to convince Eli that I wanted to post him on my socials. It's not like you're now posting the other now whenever they move, just a little nod of acknowledgment to the world every once in a while."

"Yeah, I'll talk with him about it once tour is over just in case."

"Or…" Grace raised her eyebrows in suggestion as an idea hit her. The girl always had the craziest ideas though barely anyone took them serious, not even her at times.

Standing up from where they were sat on the coach in the bus while making their way to the next destination, she began making her way across the bus with quick steps. Coming back with an excited smile, dragging a confused Eli behind her. Pulling him down to sit next to them, she started explaining the situation to him first. Telling Eli about her fears of Ryan's opinion while the other girl tried making her stop talking out of embarrassment.

"I thought, since you talked about getting Tom and Myles to do the Dublin In Ecstasy part in Amsterdam, what about her doing it in Berlin tomorrow?" Grace suggested.

"Yeah, absolutely not," she immediately answered as Eli didn't looked half as shocked and mortified at the idea as her.

Though it was a rejection, Grace was still looking between the two of them excitedly. Eyes wide in anticipation as if her answer didn't count.

"We could make that work," Eli finally settled on, making Grace jump into his arms, before turning to her friend to gush about what she should say.

"I hate you, Hewson," she said as Eli made his way back towards the other lads.

Now, a day later, she was standing in front of the little box Eli always stood up on. Fingers nervously fidgeting while Grace talked her ear off on how iconic it would be. Ryan had no idea and she didn't want to ruin anything that was between them with a little bit of attention on their little world.

"You have to calm down, it's gonna be amazing," Grace kept on telling her. Trying to calm her nerves and make her feel a bit more confident with all the other people around them. "We can go further away from barriers once it's over and you can have a drink or something."

"This is insane."

Dropping her head, she almost missed how the lights dimmed again. If it wasn't for the thousand people around her starting to get even more excited than before. The stage turned blue and slowly, one by one, the guys walked on stage. Waving and smiling at the crowd as they got into their places. The two girls at the front cheering with the crowd.

For a song or two everything was fine. Enjoying herself in the middle of the pit and dancing like this was any other evening made the nerves walk away, leaving her alone and at peace. Though the moment she heard the familiar guitar riff starting, the nerves came back. Anticipation crawling up her spine. Unease following rather quickly.

And before she knew it, Eli was leaning over the barriers. His body closer to Grace, but the mic was angled towards her. The couple exchanged a look before he asked the first question.

"What's your name?"

Like he didn't know.

With a shaky voice, she told the crowd. Looking past Eli, who leaned back for her to have a better view, towards Ryan, whose head perked up at his girlfriend's voice. A smile grazing his face as they locked eyes. And that was all it took for her to get the adrenaline flowing through her veins.

They had discussed a few things she could say to him - most ideas were thrown in by Grace and quickly thrown out the window by her.

"Is there anything you'd like to say to Berlin tonight?" Eli asked, not aware of what they had settled on. "You can say anything." Reminding her again to get the options open.

After a moment of silence, she finally spoke into the mic again. Her voice booming through the venue as she leaned closer, speaking louder to make sure that it was heard. Looking straight at Ryan who tried his best to stay focused on the task at hand and not messing up his part.

"Your drummer's hot!"

Eli laughed at her statement. All three of them looking at Ryan who looked down at his drum pad, shaking his head and blushing even under the dark lights.

"Your friend's cute too," Eli finally said, winking at Grace who hit his arm in response.

"You know the song? I hope so."

After the show was done, both of the girls were waiting backstage. Still pumped with adrenaline from the show they spent the rest of a little back further into the crowd but still staying in the middle of it all.

As the guys came walking in, two of them were immediately drawn towards them. Looking up at Ryan, the anxiety that occupied the silence around her quickly vanished as he pulled her in for a kiss.

Mumbling against her lips, "You're a maniac."

"I just wanna make it clear that it wasn't my idea."

And by the innocent looks Grace and Eli tried to fake, it was painfully obvious who pulled the treads in that play.

"All of you are maniacs then," Ryan corrected himself.

"Well, we're gonna give you time to talk." Then they disappeared towards the other side of the room.

Sitting down Ryan made himself comfortable, leaning his head on her shoulder in exhaustion and placing a leg on her thigh. His fingers drawing shapes over her jeans to calm her down. He knew how she was feeling without having to ask about it.

"Are you mad?"

His head perked up at the question, furrowing his eyebrows he quickly shook hie head. "No, not at all. It was fun. I just didn't expect it at all." Laughing at the memory, he recalled another one. "You almost made me mess up my part."

"I'm sorry," she mumbled against his hair. Taking his hand in hers and starting to play with his fingers. "I was just thinking about something the last few days."

"What?"

Taking in a deep breath, she tried putting her thoughts into words without making it come out as desperate. "I know that you don't really want this to be all out in the open and I love our privacy and everything, but lately I've just been craving to post about it every once in a while. Not full on every hour or so, but just whenever I take a good photo of you or sum. I don't know."

"And I thought you wanted to break up with me." Though he was laughing against her shoulder, she could feel the instant relief taking over his body as she didn't confirm his assumptions.

"What? Why would you think that?"

"You just stepped away when someone recognized us."

"I-" she couldn't even explain the action herself. "I don't know what I was doing then to be honest. I just thought it would fit in with what you said you wanted."

"I never want you to step back from me."

Placing another kiss on her lips, Ryan held her jaw with his fingers.

"I've been thinking about it too, you know? Posting you," he confessed. "Ever since I took that picture of you when we were at dinner and I thought it looked too good to just stay in my gallery."

"You can post it still."

"Oh, I will," he said, already pulling out his phone to search for the picture in his phone. "As I will with the other 200 pictures I've got of you."

Picking out the picture he'd mentioned and captioning it, 'This girl called me hot.' before quickly posting it so she couldn't say anything against it as he could already feel her eyes growing wide at the caption.

"Now who's the maniac, huh?"

"More like 'killer team' don't you think?"

idk what exactly prompted this ask bc i made that post like a week ago and from what i can tell it hasn't really got any notes for the past few days and i haven't even been online so maybe this is just something that had been bothering you? idk but. and i don't mean to be rude when i say this! but i must say i don't like the tone of this. i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it was accidental, but jsyk this came off as very passive aggressive, like im somehow an idiot for not seeing it. and i will tell you that i have definitely seen people accusing gmmtv of sabotaging fkt and thk, which as i said is silly, but yes some do say that! i've seen it with my own two eyes lmao

like literally today i saw someone on twitter saying exactly this bc the gmmtv twt account posted upcoming events for the next week. now mind you! first is LITERALLY on holiday with his family rn, so how (and more importantly why) do they expect him to have events next week? well when someone mentioned that in the replies, their response was just 'well clearly you don't see it the way i do' which ?? what way is that ?? that he's on holiday?? that he can't be in two places at once??? and other people in the replies were like 'well why can't khaotung have solo events!' and it's like ?? idk maybe bc he's at home gaming, hanging out with his sister and playing his instruments ?? maybe it's bc the two of them are CLEARLY on a break and just bc khaotung is still at home doesn't mean he's not RESTING??

and yes i'm mad about that kind of stuff! it comes off as so selfish and spoilt!! and not to make everything about bts but bts have this exact same issue w some fans to the point where armys literally came up w a name for to refer to these kind of fans: mantis (manager+anti). an explanation of what that means from reddit (bc it's better than i could ever explain it): 'Mantis are antis who essentially hide behind “stanning” so much that they themselves feel like they know the group, and their career, better than the group does. These are the fans constantly trying to "protect" them, beyond normal levels. The type to think they are constantly mistreated/tortured by the company and don't get to make any decisions of their own. Also tend to call out other fans "for not being real fans" if they don't join in on the concern.' like literally i read some of stuff some (emphasis on SOME) fkt fans say and it literally is like. i have played these games before!

and listen i'm not gonna pretend i know much of anything abt that company. i'm new here as it is and i really don't pay attention to any other actors or shows or whatever to compare it to so im deffo not the authority in this regard!

but all that said i 1000% get the impression that there are some fans that kinda... infantilise fkt when it comes to their work. like they have no choice or agency and gmmtv are keeping them locked in a basement somewhere. and i do believe that the majority of them mean well (altho i do think a lot of them want/expect way too much from fkt but i'll get to that), but it's almost as if they forget they're grown men who are more than capable of advocating for themselves. i mean fucking hell, was it not them aggressively advocating for themselves for years that got them put on a show together in the first place? first and khaotung are clearly not people who have difficulty going after what they want, esp when together. i've heard that fkt are notoriously picky about which scripts they accept, which doesn't sound to me like people who are really being neglected by their company. neglected actors don't get the luxury of being picky about jobs. neglected actors are lucky to get any jobs.

(and this goes for events and stuff too, which is a common gripe i've seen. in my opinion - and this is just mine! - people who take their acting as seriously as first and khaotung may not want to take loads of events where they're essentially glorified salesmen. and i mean that with no shade bc make that bag always, but as i see it that's all those events are - extra money in their pockets. i can't see how they would do anything for their career really. and doesn't it just make sense that if they're picky abt their jobs that would also extend into events and stuff too? like? i mean ppl are free to disagree w me on this bc this is just my opinion but yknow. i just think ppl make this into a bigger thing than it is)

and funnily enough i also saw a thread on twt the other day abt how fkt are much bigger internationally than they are in thailand. the shows they've opted to do (again, opted, bc they have a choice) are shows that allegedly don't appeal to a domestic market like most other gmmtv shows do. and so, no matter how you or i might feel abt it, from a business pov it makes sense that they might not be getting the opportunities some other actors might be getting if there simply just isn't demand for it domestically. which sucks, but if that's how it is, that's how it is.

and don't get me wrong i completely get viciously advocating for your faves ok? im an army. for half of bts' career fans were all they had. but sometimes that advocacy becomes a) kinda ridiculously demanding given the context and b) almost condescending. or very condescending sometimes. this goes for bts and fkt both. and while it's all well and good wanting things for them, all i'm saying is let's not forget that they are grown men who are not new to this business. not to mention the fact they have a known track record of advocating for themselves, or the fact that they enough scripts coming their way to be able to be picky, or the fact that already have a new show lined up. first has two even! and a show currently airing! and a cameo that just aired like last week! and another one we know is coming! like my god these are not men who are hurting for work rn.

and in my humble opinion, coming to learn about this industry relatively recently, i think ppl expect too much from these actors overall. i think a lot of them - fkt included - work a hell of a fucking lot actually. i think demanding much more is just selfishness. if im honest. like yes it's nice to see them doing events and stuff. but it's not necessary. and i'll be honest! would i like more interviews and magazines and things like that? sure! but like i said if the demand isn't there, neither will the offers be. that's just the reality of what it is! i'm not going to be sending trucks about it lmfao

the bottom line is this: i'm not saying gmmtv do or don't neglect them. i don't have enough information to have a strong enough opinion one way or the other. but from the outside looking in they seem to be doing just fine. they've got work. they've seemingly got money. and like i said, they're grown men. this is their careers. if they have issues with one thing or another, i trust that they will address those issues as they see fit between themselves and their company. until the day that first and/or khaotung themselves express unhappiness or discontentment, i will take them at face value and believe that they're happy w the way things are. bc literally who tf am i to tell them they should be doing anything different?

Explanation of Malleus x Reverie's relationship (mainly the romance they have)

I'm too lazy to make Reverie a coffin, so I'm just making this post as a placeholder for their ship intro

I've decided that their ship names/tags will be Malerie and star of thorns (I'll use them interchangeably)

◇How did they start?◇

Reverie enjoys sneaking into NRC sometimes. Usually to stargaze, as he wonders and studies if stars look different in different places. He mainly uses Ramshackle as his perch, and sometimes, he'll accidentally run into Malleus. Their first couple of interactions were sort of awkward, as Rev tried to be nice to Malleus, yet he kinda brushed him aside since they had been somewhat rivals. But as Rev visited NRC more, the more he got to know more about Malleus and how wise he was.

One night, as Rev was stargazing, Malleus decided to join him, feeling intrigued by his decision to keep coming back to NRC with seemingly no fear or ill intent. While the two looked up at the night sky, Malleus started to notice Rev's fascination with the sky and asked him about it. Rev responded with this:

"I've kinda.... always had a fascination with the stars. I've always believed that the stars could feel, and move, and think the same way as us. But that they could also sense other's pain. I think the stars are empathetic gods who help the mortals by granting their wishes. And that's what I wanna do someday! I wanna be a symbol of hope for all mankind... and be just like the stars. Hehe, I guess that explains why I was born like this. With this.... glow."

From those words, Malleus finally saw Rev for who he truly was. He wasn't a spoiled rich boy like some people at NRC thought, but he was simply a guy trying to change the world through positivity. And Malleus couldn't help but appreciate it.

For the next couple of months, the two would stargaze together nearly every night, rambling on about their interests and beliefs. Then one day, Reverie showed Malleus the center of his "glow"- his heart.

This was Reverie's way of showing his trust in Malleus, since his heart (or where is heart should be) is one of his most vulnerable areas, as it's extremely sensitive to touch, and is what gives him his magical abilities. Malleus appreciated Rev for showing such a vulnerable aspect of him, but he couldn't deny that Rev's glow intrigued him.

After that, Rev went back to RSA blushing like a fool. He had never shown someone his heart before... I guess Malleus made him feel safe enough to show it. Malleus could feel a slight sensation of butterflies in his stomach. Something about Rev made him feel so calm, and with him, he could feel like a normal person.

◇ Miscellaneous Notes ◇

Malleus tends to get a little too handsy with Rev sometimes, as he touches his hair or inspects his glowy heart. Rev doesn't mind it too much, but he does get really flustered and embarrassed every time Malleus touches him or geeks out over his glow.

Malleus lets Rev play with his tomogachi sometimes. Rev still doesn't really know what to do with it, but he still tries his best to not accidentally break it.

Rev sometimes sleeps over at Diasomnia, sleeping on Malleus's couch. No one has caught him yet, but Malleus does mention him to Lilia.
