for years i rewrote my own memory in order to blame myself for developing ocd. i read a book about a girl with ocd a few months before it got really bad and i guess i thought i just??? copied that???? cause it sounded so fun??? anyway a while back i found my dairy from the time and before i even knew of that book i was detailing my extremely upsetting intrusive thoughts i’d developed when i started at secondary school & when i did read that book i literally made a note of “it kinda sounds like what’s going on in my head, good thing i know what not to do now” like jesus christ as if ‘i’m sure i can control it’ isn’t the dumbest thing ever in this type of context lmao. anyway the moral of the story is that your brain lies to you sometimes

I desperately wish people would start actually reading the AO3's TOS before confidently making 'user guides' to the AO3 that are just blatantly, flatly wrong.

Yes the AO3 has banned content. They do not allow anything that's illegal under US law - though US law, importantly, does not ban fictional depictions of things - and they do not allow any commercial content. That includes your ko-fi link, or mentions that you do fic commissions. If you do post fic commissions to AO3 and want to mention the commissioner, the fic is a 'request' from the commissioner. This protects the AO3 and you from copyright law.

No the AO3 is not 'a creative fanfiction archive'. It is a fandom archive. Your meta, insights, and theories are absolutely welcome and encouraged there. AO3 also encourages you to post other types of fanworks, like fan videos, podfics, and art, but unfortunately isn't able to natively host those like it does text, so fic has kind of become what it's known for. That absolutely does not mean that other types of fanwork aren't allowed, or are discouraged by the site culture! Anybody who tells you otherwise is just plain wrong!

one of the “non-taboo” tags i see in fics that immediately makes me click off is the “period-typical homophobia”.

specifying harry potter fics (but this goes for nearly every fandom tbh), i dont want to read a queer romance and have a major issue for their relationship be “we are the same sex”.

one of my headcanons that i will never let go is that they dont care in tbe wizarding world! who cares about your sexuality and or gender, there’s more pressing matters at hand (cough dark lords and blood racism cough)

im fine with it when its from muggleborns/muggles because thats a whole different environment but beyond that? i dont care for it.

i think it also gives me the fear that the romance will be poorly written but thats an unfair bias.

Lena definitely cares for Gwen. It's pretty obvious that she's doing this to forcefully keep her safe. I think her assessment is also like..pretty fair from her pov since Gwen really is not doing great with the horrors (love u gwen you're doing your best with a scary dangerous situation) and she'd really just get herself hurt further.

Gwen could grow and get rlly good at surviving still ofc (you need Experience for that after all) but Lena wants the excuse to not have her be IN that position anymore.

The statement itself was really interesting, and I'm thinking that dark ocean of secret knowledge is an interesting visual (side note, while i dont think the Deep is supposed to be knowledge related... it's reminiscent in my head for some reason and made me think of it. probably the imagery tho) and possible nice comparison to Jon's "it's like there's a door in my mind" ocean of Eye Knowledge tm. Just interesting.

I do wonder who wanted out of a) the guys head or b) the wires/the equipment. Is it a general entity Of wires technology current etc that we have tamed with the advent of electricity? Is it the consciousness of the guy, or even the subconscious? Is it other people who have been ushanka'd and thus can be across anything electric, like an amalgamation of souls? The silver in the wires is obviously important as well as the split consciousness, but...

I know the obvious narrative that, im my opinion, freddie is trying to paint is that they (jmj, supposedly) need out and they're using the transcript to speak that fact. As they have been, in theory, using the casements to speak to tbe team from the start. But in the actual situation, mr. Schmidt's case still resulted in those words, so who?

Side note, I still don't think JMJ are actually in the puters. I think Freddie is puppeting their voices still. But then again... there is some consciousness there. Sam did get an email from Jon. And then you have to wonder, when does a puppet mimicking consciousness actually gain it, if so?

I think they might be taking us on a very interesting route about identity and such. The "some of him" from episode one seems to hint at, well, at least some of jmj still being in there if it isn't only a red herring. On the other hand... I still don't think Jonny and Alex lied to us that their fate stays ambiguous either? It'd make no sense to.

I also don't think Celia knows what's going on fully. I think she is tma Celia but the reason she brings up their names is _She_ might think they're in there regardless of it being the case, because she recognizes their voices immediately.

But maybe I will be proven wrong in a few weeks and it was never a red herring after all, and what Jonny and Alex meant is that it could he a different universe version jmart and jonah.

Also Alice and Sam's argument :( The beloveds are fighting. I guess it makes sense why they didn't work out. I wonder what Alice was supposedly controlling about before, and what truly happened. I can't wait until we know.

sorry i noticed something and i need to talk about it or I’ll explode (again)

from pictures 1 to 2, Primrose is in the exact same position. exact. from this i kinda assumed 2 is a zoomed in version of 1. but as evidenced by the persons hand being at a slightly different angle (tilting more towards the camera with more palm exposed), we can tell that these are, in-fact, two different. this means that for however long a period of time between the two pictures, Primrose was staying cold stone still. this scraggly scruffy looking motherfucker was staying still as a statue while just. being held in someone’s arms. and being photographed. and i really don’t know why I’m thinking about this so much, but it just paints a really funny image in my head of just this thing being so zonked out of its shit. conscience absent. thoughts nonexistent. brain empty. and what the fuck why am i writing this much about this shit something is genuinely fucking wrong with me. it’s fucking 1am.im so tirerd
