Hey all, this is Katherine. I’m writing to you tonight because of a recent misunderstanding I’d like to clear up.  Yesterday, I put up a post about MAMAMOO where the OP referenced a situation I hadn’t heard of. For posts like these, I usually like to research the reference and write an admin note giving a brief neutral summary.  This way, people don’t have to go look it up (unless they want to know more), or comment “What happened???” and wait for other commenters to tell them. It’s literally just me attempting to be helpful and save people time and effort, and I’ve done this several times without any problems. Unfortunately, the articles I read this time were not as neutral as I believed, and I ended up accidentally posting incorrect information as fact.  So first of all, I’d like to apologize for my mistake.  It was certainly never my intention to write anything inaccurate. I feel bad that all the MAMAMOO fans had to come in and defend their group because I didn’t have the full story.

However, in the past day I’ve had several comments and messages telling me that I’m “spreading lies and defamation” and purposefully saying negative things about MAMAMOO. I’ve also been informed by some people that RBW could take legal action against me. I usually keep stories of upset followers to myself - and I’m not trying to attack them or start a witch hunt with this post - but these are serious accusations that I feel cross a line, especially considering the purpose of this blog. Let’s be clear: there is a BIG difference between being misinformed and “defaming an artist.” I repeated a wrong version of the story, but I never once made any judgmental or hateful statement about MAMAMOO. I have worked really hard to be nothing but neutral as a main admin, so it’s upsetting that someone would interpret my words as anything otherwise. This blog is a forum where everyone understands that they’re not always going to like or agree with what others say. Accusing someone of maliciously spreading lies when they have incorrect information and/or bringing up any kind of legal action violates that understanding.  

Integrity is extremely important to me both as an individual and an admin, so I want to make sure we’re all on the same page going forward. If I (Katherine) put an admin note about a situation mentioned in a post, my ONLY intent is to give more neutral and factual details about what the OP said.  It is NOT to reflect my own views or opinions on the matter.  If the information I wrote is factually incorrect, just let me know and I will fix it. Sometimes we get our facts wrong; in these cases, I assure you that’s literally all it is.  As a main admin, I promise you that I will never come for your faves here. I sincerely hope that this will not be an issue anymore.
