I got diagnosed with severe raynaud’s two years ago. It got suddenly MUCH worse this year.
Develop a wound on a couple fingers, wound doesn’t get better in two months
multiple doctor visits
finally have to take sudden medical leave because one finger hurts really bad every time I touch something, my fingers are constantly cold and white, and they just hurt all the time
referral to dermatology because my doctor thinks it’s eczema
it’s hand ischemia, an unhealing sore caused by raynaud’s
get medication to help the raynaud’s by improving bloodflow (see tags) and a referral to rheumatology and bloodwork ordered
rheumatology gives me another medication to improve bloodflow to help with the raynaud’s, concludes that I have an autoimmune disorder
hand sores are getting better?! now only one finger looks like there's anything wrong, and it barely hurts to touch things anymore!
another medication to improve bloodflow, which now makes three
dermatologist wants to try botox shots, which is a new application that has seen some very promising results
insurance says no
insurance says no x2
insurance says no x3 AND says they are fine with me losing my fingers which will probably happen without the treatment
I'm a coffee barista. how am I supposed to make lattes without my fingers!?
it’s been about three months I’ve been on medical leave so I decide to pay for the botox out of pocket
it costs $700 to treat one hand. I will need both hands treated
I am told I will see results between 2-14 days
I see improvement within three days and significant difference between the two hands at seven days
I have the other hand treated today, exactly 14 days after the first is treated

— Quiet.
part 1/?
könig x afab!reader fanfic
tw: noncon, choking, threats, knives, horror, drugging?, musk, uncanny?, kidnapping
Tumblr media
artist: xbruised_peach
Your eyes slowly blink open. it's pitch black, and everything feels hazy, your head pounding. a cold breeze touches your bare arms, and the smell of mold catches your nose.
you focus and notice your arms feel restrained, as if, your bloodflow was being cut off. you were right.
with your arms tied behind your back, you quickly realize how helpess you are in this moment. your limbs, strapped to the chair's legs feel uneasy and tingly.
before you even realize what's going on, you hear a huff coming from behind you. you're unable to turn your head towards the noise, though.
a few loud, heavy footsteps. heavy breathing. what beast was making this sound?
the figure slowly walks up behind you. it's breaths are heavier, and the musky smell gets closer and closer.
you're unable to move; frozen in fear. you feel like you're being watched.
suddenly, the figure shifts and changes direction, walking past you. you square it with your eyes. they widen.
the tall figure seems like it barely fits under the ceiling. it's movements are slow, concerningly. for some reason, it awakens some kind of primal fear in you.
is it a man?
an entity?
what kind of beast is that tall?
the figure turns to you.
you immediately recognize two piercing, icy, striking eyes, shining in the pitch dark room, behind two holes cut in what seems to be an old shirt. there was no doubt, it was a man you were looking at, but you're still unable to recognize his highly uncanny features.
as the man seems to be focusing on grabbing something from the table, you square him down even more. tactical gear. guns. helmet.
why are you here? what does he want from you? your heart started pounding out of your chest even more, as the panic set in.
he turns to you once again. he squats, in order to have his eyes at your own eye level. you look away, turning your head.
the man lifts a huge gloved hand and quickly grabs your jaw, turning your head towards his face again. his gaze seems to wander over your face, your nose, your cheeks. the glove feels rough on your skin, and your breaths get shorter in fear.
the figure seems unshaken. completely unmoved.
his other hand hovers over your chest, grabbing your affiliation's tag/badge. he grunts, and rips it off, throwing it forcefully on the ground, and standing back up.
you now realize what is going on.
he was a KorTac soldier sent to kidnap you.
the man bangs a fist on the steel table. shortly after, another man appears.
"it's them, is it? that spy. i would have sworn it with my whole life. 's all yours, big boy."
he turns to you with a menacing look.
"caught ya. you should have been more careful, little one. König's not gonna be gentle with a filthy spy like you. you guys are like rats. Good luck." he chuckles, leaving the room, slamming the door behind himself.
you snarl. you're left alone with the tall figure again, but now you know his name.
The man growls under his mask. his fist quickly flies towards you, his hand grips tight around your neck, almost crushing your airways. you choke on your own saliva, letting out a whine. König looks into your eyes as if you were a dying animal. it's clear that the feeling of his team being spied on deeply enrages him. he wants to get rid of you. or not yet, maybe..
coming soon...

Hey I have EDS and dysautonomia here are some things that really improved my quality of life, feel free to add :)
-my cane. I use it for balance and some support. If you feel a mobility aid would help I’d definitely look into it because there are so many types for different needs
-heating pad. Relaxes stiff joints, relaxes muscles, helps bloodflow. Get a good wide one if you can.
-pregnancy pillow. Support on all sides of your body. There’s a really good video by the Fibro Guy explaining EDS and sleep, but in general I’ve found that with a pregnancy pillow you can relieve stress on any joint pretty much AND it gives you access to more stable sleeping positions. Pretty easy to sew for yourself as well, but they exist online.
-compression socks. Increases bloodflow out of legs which can help with presyncope/syncope, swelling, pain, discoloration, the whole shabang. Feels like my legs are floating on a cloud
-cold showers. This is so awful as like a basic thing but I don’t feel faint in the shower at all anymore and it’s a massive improvement for just being able to do things.
-salt pills/tabs. If you don’t like salting your food till it’s practically at home in the ocean I would recommend literal pills full of salt. I take one before I work out/am going to walk or stand a lot and i would say it literally reduced my presyncope symptoms by half
-testosterone. This is not a thing most people will want, let alone necessarily have access to, but if you’re transmasc or smth and have dysautonomia and/or EDS and are considering going on T it literally changed my life. You get more blood for your brain and more muscles to stabilize your joints and more sweat to thermoregulate. The relief is amazing.
-braces. Not the teeth kind but if you can get your hands on those like splint looking things for your worst joints it can be a really nice thing to have on a bad day.
-an absurd amount of water. Not in the “your symptoms are just dehydration” way but in the way of if you have dysautonomia you probably need so much more water than a typical human. Guidelines are 80-100 ounces DAILY for an average sized person with dysautonomia. Also majorly reduced my Time Spent Vomiting but idk any statistics for that one. Bonus points if you put electrolyte powder in there.
-CBD balm? Weirdly? Feels cold but very effective. Some places sell it for pretty cheap. I like wildflower but it’s intense so use that shit SPARINGLY.
-kindness. So corny but have empathy for yourself. It’s hard to internalize that being disabled disables you and holding oneself to able-bodied standards won’t help.
I hope this helps at least one person <3 I hope you sleep well and have a low pain day tomorrow

Made a ref of my oc for artfight!!
His pronouns are he/him, he's a cis man who simply prefers dressing femininely.
Fun facts!:
- Before he was turned into a vampire his eyes were entirely a very light purple colour, though after his resurrection turned to a more vibrant red-purple.
- He was born with albinism and used to have very rosey cheeks when he was a child/still alive (hence named Roscoe by his mother) they are no longer rosey due to the lack of proper bloodflow but he sometimes puts on blush to make up for the fact
- Roscoe is near blind, vampirism did greatly improve his vision in the dark however it is difficult for him to see in well lit areas due to the fact his eyes still lack pigment and he has been near blind since birth, despite the betterment of his vision, losing an eye sort of set him back to square one, he relies mostly on his hearing and the aid of his guard
- The wings on his head are actually a result of trauma to the head, related to him losing an eye, he finds it difficult to switch between a bat like form and his standard human form, with the wings being permanently stuck, he can move them tho! Often hides his face with them when he gets embarrassed
- Except for red and black he also greatly enjoys wearing all white outfits
If you'd like to add me on artfight here's the link!

Stirrups! They originated as socks in baseball uniforms meant to protect players' calves, but they evolved to be a normal sock and also come in the form of leggings (<- what he's drawn wearing above).

Non-baseball stirrups are usually worn for flexible athletics like yoga or dance!

I think it is because of people like you that we know nettle is edible.
Now that you mentioned nettle I have to talk about it more because it's extremely relevant; not only it's edible and filled with calcium and iron and can serve as supplement, and also it's so filled with plant nutrients that you can make a nitrogen fertilizer for your other plants from it, but there's more!
The reason I'm learning to knit is actually that I want to be able to make fabric out of nettle fibres! I already know that it's possible to take nettle fibres and weave a basket, net, and a netted bag out of it (I'll do it when I can carry lots of nettles home), but I've seen someone weave an entire shirt out of nettle! I know I'll need to try knitting, crochet and weaving on a loom in order to figure out which is best, so I'm going to go through all of those techniques.
This is so extraordinary to me, the ability to produce clothing just from nettle, which is so widespread, grows back no matter what you do with it, and cannot be endangered no matter how much you cut, I mean! Is there anything better than nettle at this point?
People have also used it for their joint issues, in a way that they would purposefully burn their joints with nettle and it would improve bloodflow, I actually tried that once, curious if it would do something for my chronic pain and it did NOT work lmao, it only works if your joints are actually having a medical issue that isn't psychosomatic, ah well, it was worth a try (it hurt me all day lol).
Follow me for more nettle info xxx

Happy new year!
My TS2 goals have probably been the same the last three years. Learn to do accessories and maybe hair. Finish what I start. Etc.
This year, I can add figuring out if I can use The Tattooer with GIMP (is there a tutorial?) and getting my old WIP's off the two laptops that died last year. I still haven't done that. I was sick for months, and the laptops died during all of that.
One of my personal goals, outside of TS2 stuff, is to find a different/better job. If that happens, I'll hopefully be a happier person...but I probably won't have tons of downtime at work to make CC. The downtime is one of the only things keeping me at this job, but it's years beyond time for a change. If I do switch jobs, I wouldn't quit making CC, I'd probably just post less often.
I probably also need another surgery this year. The one I had in 2023 didn't work as well as I was told it should. I'm gonna see a different surgeon and probably have a similar surgery to remove the damage, not just one to improve bloodflow and reduce cramping in the hopes that it would heal. It didn't, and it's getting worse again. It's gonna be another challenging year, but hopefully I'll keep making improvements and getting through setbacks.

Ahoi, horse question -
I knew most facts on your list but it’s a fun read, thanks for that.
I also knew that horses can overeat themselves to death but I always wondered:
What’s different with wild horses, how do they regulate themselves? And didn’t they occasionally eat bad plants and mushrooms, too, that poisoned them?
Wild horses can and do poison themselves by eating toxic plants, it's just that herds of wild horses are remarkably rare to see EVER, so the whole "toxic plants in reach of horses" discourse is almost entirely limited to domestic settings. Tansy, especially, is a poisonous herb that can appear to blend into other safe grasses and herbs a horse may eat, and the horse will eventually die of colic (intestinal spasms that cause the horse's GI tract to literally tie itself in knots, cut off bloodflow, and result in an agonizing death; it's one of the most common causes of premature death in horses). That's why responsible owners pay out the nose to have their paddocks ID'd and and cleared of any toxic plants the horse may accidentally graze on. Most experienced horse/ranch owners practically qualify for an honorary botany degree, because the best owners learn how to identify most - if not all - of the toxic plants their horses may encounter in their area, and keep their horses far away from them until/unless the plants can be removed.
With many wild horses you may see in photos, those are the ones that made it to adulthood. Horses are prey animals, and so wild horses you see in film or pictures - even babies - may not have survived to the publication of the picture you're looking at. As prey animals, only the strong and lucky survive to old age without human intervention on some level to improve their mortality rates. Foals are just as vulnerable to predation as baby deer, and usually can't survive if they're injured or sick in any way that keeps them from keeping up with their herd. The herd usually follows the dominant mating stallion, who typically decides when it's time for the herd to move (unless the mares decide he's not worth listening to, which happens sometimes). There aren't really that many places in the world where you'll see truly wild horses, so most people don't think of them as prey animals that are as vulnerable to environmental dangers as any other prey animal.
It's well to remember, too, that pretty much all true-blue, wild horses today are the descendants of domestic horses to some degree. In the American West, wild herds of Mustangs were captured by the US Army and westward-bound settlers in the 18th and 19th centuries so voraciously that wild mustang populations pretty much went entirely extinct (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron is very much taking place during the final years Spirit will ever know freedom as a wild animal. A few years later, the horses will end up broken and domesticated by soldiers if they aren't tamed and separated by other humans, and there will be no more mustang herds to see on the western frontiers for well over a century).
All horses are thought to descend from the OG horse, the Przewalski's Horse, aka Those Cave-Painting Horses:
Tumblr media
The very first true horses to ever appear were initially native to what is now steppes and grasslands in Mongolia and Russia - so basically Central Asia. It's theorized that, thousands of years ago, these horses gradually migrated into North America via the Bering Land Bridge that once joined North America to what is now Russia, and evolved and were domesticated into now what we recognize as the American Mustang:
Tumblr media
American Mustangs don't bear a very clear resemblance to their Przewalski ancestors due to thousands of years of domestication, separation from their original species, and selective breeding practices by humans.
Both the Przewalksi's Horse and American Mustangs have recently been on the rise thanks largely to conservation methods when it comes to wild populations of them. The Przewalski's Horse was so rare that it was functionally extinct in the wild in the 1960s, with the only significant populations of surviving horses being kept in zoos and wildlife conservatories. Now, the horses have made such a big comeback that some of the first wild herds have been released back into their home environment in Central Asia.
The main difference is in how the horses are treated by their human protectors, or if they have humans looking after them at all. Domestic horses that are raised privately and kept essentially as very expensive pets spend their entire lives having humans providing them with most, if not all, of their required resources and care, so they don't typically get the same experience with food that they would in the wild. Herds of wild horses can have roaming territories of hundreds, if not thousands, of hectares and be comprised of a dozen or more individual horses, while most domestic "pet" horses are usually limited to much tighter pastures that only span a couple of acres, maybe in the double or triple digits if there's money-money involved, but the horses still largely have their dietary needs and daily routines decided for them by their owners - not natural instinct and rearing by other horses.
A horse really can't get everything it needs nutritionally or behaviorally in a paddock-and-stable setup without humans to feed and look after them, because they don't have a huge range of places they were evolved to travel between to sustain their health; horses, like other ungulates, need vital minerals like those found in natural salt deposits to maintain their health, and the soil in your horse's paddock may be so nutritionally deprived that the grass your horse grazes on doesn't actually contain enough nutrition for the horse to survive without supplementation to their food. They also need more than grass to be nutritionally stable; horses will seek out and eat fruits, veggies, grains, herbs, and especially love molasses and other forms of sugar for their sky-high amounts of carbohydrates (and because they taste good). But they don't know how to properly regulate what they eat when presented with an unlimited supply without a human to handle the portion control side of things, so it's easy for them to overeat to the point that it kills them.
Wild horses are born and raised feeding and taking care of themselves and each other in highly maternal, matriarchal communities (mostly females of reproductive age and their babies with only one or two adult breeding males; the stallions are usually the ones that lead the herd, but the mares really have the final say). Aside from eating something they didn't know was toxic, wild horses learn from their peers and elders when it comes to where they can find the best food and when, and rely heavily upon their understanding of their territory/range when it comes to knowing where and what they should eat to stay healthy. They also have to share resources with other horses in their herd, and don't get access to huge 200lb barrels of oats or 150lb bales of pure feeding hay, so they usually don't find opportunities like domestic horses do to find Enormous Stores Of Unprotected Food and make themselves sick.
Horses have a muscle at the top of their stomachs referred to as a French Tie. It literally makes it physically impossible for a horse to throw up, even if they've eaten something bad or overeaten and would stand a better chance at surviving if they could spit up what they ate. Being grazing animals with long necks, they can't have the internal structure to throw up with, because otherwise they would never be able to get their food or water from their mouths to their stomachs. Gravity would prevent them from being able to eat without constantly raising their heads up to gulp down food like an alligator with a chicken drumstick (seriously, try taking a drink of water while you're dangling upside down; that's why NOT being able to regurgitate is more valuable for horses), which is not what grass-eating animals want to do: grass and plant life is very hard to digest efficiently, horses only have one stomach compared to other ungulates like cows, and horses and similar grazing animals spend so much time chewing on their food in order to make it easier to digest and draw nutrition from that it generally makes their food intake pretty steady for their digestive systems to cope with.
Domestic horses that live their lives in paddocks and barns know where things like the grain store/feed room are, and don't really understand why we stingy humans will only give them a scoop or two of oats as a treat and not give them as much as they want 24/7. Their instincts almost always are to graze, graze, graze, so what's wrong with going face-down in a barrel full of oats? It's just tasty food!
Except we know that overeating means they can't puke up what they don't need or can't digest the way your dog can if they managed to rip open your 50lb bag of cat food while you were away at work. They don't know better, and there's no way to teach a horse NOT to eat when food is right in front of their noses, so farm-horses essentially have their entire diets managed for them to keep them safe and healthy, while wild horses just don't have access to that sheer quantity of unguarded food to overeat at all under typical circumstances.

Honestly, go for vaping or patches at this point. Remember: all negative health effects from smoking are tied to smoking, not nicotine. Scientists have tried to study the harmful impact of nicotine without smoking in order to control for that, and every. single. time. they end up coming back with the angriest studies you’ve ever seen. They end up reporting “uhh… no negative health effects from nicotine administered without smoking/chew discovered, actually improved bloodflow and reduced heart issues, BUT WE WILL FIND WHY IT’S BAD NEXT TIME”. And they never do. It’s some wacky cartoon shit.
i can't vape, because my asthma is triggered by humidity, so the vape smoke actually gives me asthma attacks, while smoke with cigarettes is dry (for lack of a better word) so it doesn't. and then patches irritate my eczema. it sucks. i tried everything last time i quit, and nothing didn't affect one of my health issues. i wouldn't actually quit if it were up to me, but my lungs just said 'fuck you'.

"way more red and prominent" is a thing that happens to certain types of caucasian skin with any kind of deep tissue application. actually really useful for keeping track of the progress and depth of your work!! it does look horrifying if you weren't expecting it though, takes a lot of convincing new massage students that they haven't done a murder. if it fades back to normal within a few hours and the scars don't appear damaged then you're good.
does it happen to tans easily doesnt burn italian coded caucasians too. the surrounding skin never gets red just the scar
It looks like it's back to normal this morning? But certain areas of the scar seem to be getting redder at baseline. Some of what ive read online suggests that scars get reddest from week 6 - 2 months, which is about where I'm gonna be, and that part of its because of improved bloodflow to the area, so it's nothing to be concerned about.
anybody (including you massage anon of course) have thots

Working your breath, core, and BRAIN while jumping? YES!!
When you connect to controlling your breathing while jumping, you not only will increase activation of the core, but your brain will receive increased bloodflow due to the increased blood volume through you cerebral artery!
This is due to the increase in carbon dioxide and nitric oxide in your blood vessels when controlling the breath to be slow.
A BONUS are the high levels of core work during the breath control, which will stabilize your spine, absorbing more forces in the working muscle, helping to avoid injury with this amazing bone density improving and anti-aging movement!
Learn my breathing method free at Hypoxix.fitness where you can also find an Ab-Ribbon to optimize your Breathing core awareness during exercise!

I find that when you need to come up with alternatives to toothbrushing, it's good to know exactly what each part of the process does.
Foaming toothpaste breaks up biofilm
Bristles/floss remove food particles and wear down plaque
Fluoride strengthens enamel and kills some bacteria
Gentle pressure on the gums improves bloodflow and reduces swelling (swelling is where bacteria and plaque 'hide' and build up).
Anything you can do for your mouth that helps any of those goals is a GREAT start.
Sugar free gum? Works on biofilm.
Massaging your jaw from the outside? Helps with gum bloodflow.
Rinsing after you eat? Removes food particles.
Taking ibuprofen/acetaminophen? Reduces gum swelling.
But there are some significantly weirder lifehacks that knowing your goals open up.
For example, exercising your neck? Improves gum bloodflow.
Chewing certain types of stick (eg licorice, neem)? Kills bacteria, and wears down plaque.
Rinsing your mouth out with oil? Biofilm again.
I have trouble taking care of my teeth because everything that involves doing that is a sensory nightmare. I decide to do some research to see if there's anything I can do about this. The results?
"How to make your autistic child brush their teeth"
"Autistic Children and Sensory issues relating to tooth brushing"
"How to get your little shit to brush his fucking teeth"
Like, yeah Google, thanks, that really helps. And like, even if I was a child, some of the advice seemed... unhelpful. Like, doing a dance and singing a song while brushing your teeth? Even for a kid, I don't think that would help distract from a sensory experience as intense as brushing your teeth. Like, the extremely intense and unpleasant flavor, the intense feeling of the brush against your teeth scraping across it, even mouthwash has such an intense and disgusting flavor that I have difficulty keeping it in my mouth for more than a few seconds. I wish there was SOMETHING that could be done.

Neck: Is stress making it stiff?
Tumblr media
Quick, check to see if your neck is stiff.
Chances are that for most of us, our neck and shoulders are.
Stress in the neck comes from chronic stress over weeks and months. Poor posture and lack of exercise makes it worse.
What’s the most effective method for relieving neck tension?
At the risk of simplification, being aware of the stiffness in your neck is a great start.
Try these exercises [see here]. These exercises will reduce the strain in your neck.
If it is feasible, get a massage of the neck, shoulder and upper back area. A trained expert knows how to optimise bloodflow, release tension from the fascia, and break down knots.
Stiffness causes reduced blood flow, the biggest challenge to any muscle in your body.
Use an ice pack or wrap. Cold stimulates increased vascular flow, improving circulation.
Avoid it if you have hypertension, but otherwise, tilting your neck below your head is a good idea. Do this by lying down on a bed and allowing your upper body to dangle over.
If someone laughs at you while you do this, tell him I asked you to.
Magnesium serves as an excellent muscle relaxant. You can use a spray or oil to relax the muscles in the neck and shoulder area.
Be careful, because magnesium can be absorbed by the skin so dont overdose.
Let us not ignore the original cause, which was stress.
Stress can be reduced through a variety of ways. We have spoken about slow breathing in the past. In addition, consider
Using lavendar around the home, your pillow, clothes and even laundry will help mitigate stress to some extent.
A stiff neck prevents the flow of blood into your head. Lack of blood flow will reduce oxygenation.
Remember your brain takes up a bulk of the energy required by your body. Low oxygen affects the ability of the brain to function, adding to your stress.
Learning how to deal with stress starts with somatic awareness of how it influences the body.

my no.1 (and honestly, only) art tip is actually from toy or more specifically doll customization and it's to always* add blushing to the faces of (living) (human/adjacent) characters. even w cell shading it improves the finished look of things tenfold. the basic principle of it is that humans have a natural variation of color in their faces caused by bloodflow or w/e instead of just one consistent skin tone, and thus when you leave it out it you're more likely to trip the uncanny valley instinct. it's why even the best looking mass-produced boy dolls even seem a bit... off.
