I dont think I'm like a therian or w/e but I do seem to occupy a niche wherein I definitely don't feel like a Human Person™️ and people irl tend to treat me more like a pet or other animal most of the time and sometimes it feels good to be treated that way and other times it feels like I'm not being taken seriously bc im just a silly little critter or something
#smokey talks#like. i get away with saying or doing something or being in certain places bc im not taken seriously i guess?#its small things here or there mostly but. being the exception to a rule for a reason i dont understand can be... alarming?#its a phenomenon ive noted a lot more in my adult life frequency wise but like. its sorta always been this way#in a 'she doesnt know what shes doing but its ok' or a 'she thinks shes people' type way#idk how to explain it#but i dont always feel welcome bc of it its definitely very 'othering'#like it feels like im often just being humored or tolerated rather than accepted or valued specifically sometimes#i hope this doesnt get me clowned on bc of the stereotype

Hi it's me again. TMA/POKÉMON AU??? YES HELLO PARDON ME I NEED TO THROW MYSELF AT THIS OCCULUS AU YOU'VE GOT GOING ON IF YOU DONT MIND
*BUSTS DOWN THE DOOR* I’M SO GLAD YOU ASKED
I’ve had this AU simmering away for a while and but haven’t posted that much about it, so thank you for the excuse to scream about my extremely self indulgent Pokémon x The Magnus Archives AU
*ahem*
Introducing:
POKÉMON OCULUS
(Here’s an illustration I did after getting your ask - Champion Jonathan and his ace Pokémon, Vigitera!)
This AU is set in the Ervenis Region, a relatively small island region off the coast of Galar. It closed its borders two years prior to the main storyline, shortly after its Champion went missing during a series of attacks in its major cities and his predecessor was found murdered. Since then, an acting Champion has been instated and the borders have been reopened, but the Champion still has not been found. Most Ervenisans believe he is dead.
However, the Ervenis Champion isn’t as dead as everyone thinks, and his disappearance is only the first in long chain of events that will shake Ervenis to its very core, orchestrated by a man who aims to rule over a ruined world governed by nothing but his own will and the fear of people and Pokémon alike, and who will stop at nothing to bring that goal into reality.
More lore under the cut!
(Some of the AU-specific names and terms might be placeholders in that I haven’t been able to come up with anything better lmao)
(Also some of the art might be a bit old)
General Lore Stuff
Jon is the Champion who went missing, and Gertrude is his murdered predecessor.
Martin is Ervenis’ Pokémon Professor
Martin being the Professor is literally perfect.
Be. Because.
All of the Pokemon Professors (except for the newest ones) are named after trees.
And Martin’s last name is BLACKWOOD. Which is an ACTUAL TREE.
(My first rough attempt at drawing Jmart in the Pokémon art style)
Also jmart are extremely married
They’re Ervenis’ favorite power couple
(Professor Blackwood for half of the main plot: *sighs.* …I miss my husband. I miss him a lot. I’ll be back.)
Their Pokémon ship name would be Londonfogshipping
Martin has a Galvantula (most likely a regional form), a Sinistea, a Frosslass, and a Togekiss
Jon, in addition to AU-specific Fakemon, has a Gardevoir and a Luxray
Jon also has a shiny Appletun on his team and Martin has a Flapple. Make of that what you will :D
Also yes there are Fakemon in this thing
I have never designed any Fakemon before except for one thirty-minute period of time from when I was ten but I’m not going to let that stop me
(Initial Fakemon sketches! Three guesses as to which characters get Sqwyrm and Manickregus and the first two don’t count)
(Also Ervenisan Yamask has another form, which evolves into Ervenisan Cofagrigus which is inspired by the Do Not Open coffin)
(I have a whole list of Fakemon designs I want to make but 90% of them aren’t fleshed out at all)
Tim and Sasha are Professors in their own right, and also Martin’s assistants/fellow researchers
Tim has a Houndoom because I saw another TMA Pokémon AU that gave him one and I really liked the idea, he also has a Ludicolo because I lost a debate with my friend who is also into both TMA and Pokémon
Sasha has a Dartrix and a Meowstic
Most of the Avatars are gym leaders
(Yippee gym leader designs!)
(Not pictured because I ran out of steam before I could draw them: Michael and Helen, who run a double Electric-type gym; Daisy, who runs a Dragon-type gym; Karolina, who runs a Ground-type gym; and Jared, who runs a Normal-type gym)
Elias is the acting Champion in Jon’s absence and the secret leader of Team Chrysalis
The current Elite Four consists of Peter, Simon, Maxwell, and Annabelle
You might have noticed that Jon and the gym leaders are all wearing (mostly) black pendants/brooches
This is part of the Ervenis’ region’s “gimmick:”
Metafestation (which is. Almost definitely a placeholder name)
Skilled trainers can use special items called Metalenses to tap into the psyches of Pokemon and Trainer to manifest the shape of their desires and the power of their emotions in reality.
You basically give the Pokémon a JoJo Stand
Each Metalens must be specially shaped and cut to suit unique trainers and Pokémon, and since using poorly made Metalenses may have disastrous consequences on its users, only a handful of people have the qualifications and legal authorization to do so
(Gerard Keay is one of these people!)
Metalenses are usually worn as pendants or brooches so they’re close to the user’s heart
For the Metafestation power-up to be strongest, the trainer and Pokémon must have a shared goal/desire and a deep bond
(This bond does not have to be a positive one. It just needs to be strong.)
These Metafestations have their own typing system, though no one’s been able to figure out exactly what it is yet.
It’s the Fears. The Fears are the typing system.
Though most users of this system aren’t aware of it, Metafestation comes from achieving a delicate balance of both desire and fear.
When I first came up with this idea, it was JUST Fear, but I felt like that was a bit dark for frickin POKÉMON so I added the desire aspect
After all, what we fear and and what we desire often go hand in hand
You desire safety because you fear its absence, you desire light because you fear the dark, you desire freedom because you fear being confined, etc.
For example, Professor Blackwood desires companionship, and fears being forgotten. Most of the Metafestations he and his Pokémon create are foggy and cold, but in a way soothing at the same time.
Though a small handful of them are spindly and laced with puppet strings and reflect his desire to wield his cunning for good.
(However, he hasn’t been able to properly use his Metalens in years. The first and only time he tried after his husband vanished, it backfired horribly, consuming both him and his Pokémon in a chilling fog and sending them spiraling into unconsciousness. It took weeks for them to recover, and Professor Blackwood bears a physical scar of the incident in the streaks of stark white in his hair.)
Of course, most people don’t have just one desire/fear. The Metalens just channels the strongest ones, and most users don’t achieve more than three separate tertiary types of power-ups.
One of the biggest exceptions is Jon.
He desires many things: Safety, love, knowledge. He also fears many things: Being manipulated and controlled, abandonment, the unknown.
When he was a child, something happened to him that scarred his psyche in such a way that he could channel all of his desires and fears.
It’s what makes him such a potent conduit for the power-up system, and what makes him a prime target for:
Team Chrysalis
Team Chrysalis is a criminal organization/sort of cult disguised as something innocent: The Magnus Institute, the region’s main research institution that Professor Blackwood works at
The AU’s main plot gets kicked off when Professor Blackwood finds evidence that his husband, the missing Champion, is still alive
If this were a real game, the main story on the side of doing the gym challenge would be helping Professor Blackwood look for clues about Jon’s whereabouts and about The Magnus Institute’s hidden goals
Professor Blackwood also figures out that it’s very likely that Elias had a hand in Jon’s disappearance
(Professor Blackwood for the other half of the main plot: *slams down the Do Not Open coffin in front of Elias* It’s a coffin. There’s a name engraved on it. “WHORE!” IT’S EMPTY!! *grabs Elias by the collar* AND YOU’RE GOING IN IT!!!)
The Elite Four are also part of Team Chrysalis and fully on board with its plan
Though Annabelle might have her own machinations going on
Team Chrysalis plans to reshape the world as they see fit by summoning a Legendary Pokémon that’s a warped physical manifestation of the fears and desires of all living creatures, and simultaneously embodies and feeds on those fears and desires
(It’s basically all the Fears mashed into one eldritch monstrosity)
(I’m mildly worried this sounds too similar to some existing legendaries but at the same time I’m just spitballing and having fun here)
To summon this Legendary, they need a lynchpin capable of channeling all of those fears and desires
This lynchpin is Jon because of course it is.
Team Chrysalis’ whole plan actually only serves to grant Elias immortality and make him king of a ruined world but shhh none of the team members know that
I have zero idea what the Legendary would look like, I just have the fact I want it to have “Pan” in its name
The climax of the story comes when Team Chrysalis starts their ritual and the end of the world. In order to stop them, their Vessel and the Legendary must be defeated.
You are challenged by The Archivist!
The Really Self Indulgent Part
I started working on this at the same time that my friend was watching through XY for the first time
So at some point when coming up with all of the story stuff my brain went “what if I stuck Ash Ketchum into the story?”
So Ash is there now. For some reason lol
He’s 19 now and is just doing his thing and traveling the world
As usual, he takes on the player’s role, challenging gyms and helping Professor Blackwood in his investigation and eventually helping him take on Team Chrysalis
(I made this shitpost in like. Less than an hour lmao)
Ash is so done with these evil team leaders trying to destroy the world
Greninja is also there because tHIS IS MY AU AND I DO WHAT I WANT *MANIACAL LAUGHTER*
And I think that’s it for an overview of Pokémon Oculus!
I have a bunch more stuff for this AU, mostly spitballs and WIP writing snippets, and I do plan on making more art and Fakemon designs eventually (especially now that I’m getting better at emulating the Pokémon art style)
Thank you for reading this far, and feel free to ask me anything about this AU! :D

Love, Lies And Loki~3
Summery: Loki was rarely bothered by the winter cold, but Y/n, it bothers her.
Characters: Loki x girlfriend!reader
Note: All characters except Loki are mine!
||Master List||
4. Stargazing with a God
❄️The Cold Never Bothered Him Anyway❄️
Winter had arrived in New York with a vengeance.
The city streets were buried under several inches of snow, and the sky had gone from its usual steel gray to a moody white, thick with impending flurries. Icicles dangled from rooftops like nature’s teeth, and the wind howled between buildings like it had a personal vendetta.
Inside the apartment Loki shared with Y/n, however, things were warm. Cozy, even.
Well… mostly.
There was just one problem.
“Loki, your feet are literally freezing,” Y/n muttered, flinching as those same icy toes brushed against her ankle under the blanket.
The God of Mischief, reclined luxuriously beside her on the couch, gave an innocent blink. “Nonsense. They’re perfectly tolerable.”
“They’re like little frost daggers.”
“Now you’re just being dramatic.”
Y/n turned her head, eyes narrowing. “I am being dramatic?”
Loki smirked. “You love me, remember? I am your ice prince of darkness or whatever terribly romantic nonsense you whispered last night.”
“I called you a dramatic snow demon,” she said flatly.
“Even better,” he purred.
She groaned and shoved her feet deeper under the heated blanket. “Can’t you, I don’t know, magic them warm?”
He wiggled his fingers lazily, casting a small spell that caused the tips to glow a pale blue. “This is warm. For me.”
“Well, I’m human, and I don’t want hypothermia every time we cuddle.”
He chuckled, his breath fogging slightly in the air as if his very presence made the room colder. “Very well. Come here.”
“No. You’ll just use me like a personal space heater.”
“I am your prince. It’s only fair.”
“Then go rule an electric blanket.”
But before she could escape, Loki had already wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into his side. The blanket shifted, and the sudden cold against her legs made her squeal.
“Loki!”
“Shhh, embrace the frost,” he murmured in her ear with that mischievous grin.
She squirmed, trying to escape, but it was hopeless. He was stronger, faster, and apparently, entirely immune to her grumbling.
“Stop smiling like that. This is domestic abuse,” she grumbled, though she couldn’t quite hide the laugh in her voice.
Loki kissed her temple. “You love it.”
She did. Even if she’d never admit it aloud.
⸻
(Later That Morning)
Y/n eventually escaped Loki’s icy clutches long enough to make hot cocoa. The kitchen smelled like cinnamon and chocolate, and the snow had begun to fall in earnest outside their window, blanketing the city in a hazy white hush.
She handed Loki a mug, which he accepted with a curious sniff. “There’s whipped cream on it.”
“Yes. That’s how humans drink cocoa.”
He gave it a suspicious look.
Y/n raised an eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you’ve never had it.”
“I’ve had Asgardian mead, which would burn a mortal’s throat off. Why would I lower myself to milk and sugar?”
“Because it’s delicious,” she said, taking a long, dramatic sip of hers. “And because it’s what we do on snow days.”
Loki sniffed again, then took a small sip.
His eyes widened.
She smirked. “Told you.”
“…It’s tolerable.”
“You’re full of it.”
He didn’t argue. Instead, he sipped again, then wandered to the window, eyes following the snowfall like it was a puzzle he hadn’t quite solved.
Y/n came up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. His body was always a little colder than hers, even in moments like this—but her warmth always seeped into him eventually.
“You miss it sometimes, don’t you?” she asked softly. “Asgard. The real winters there.”
Loki was quiet for a long moment.
Then: “Not the place. Not anymore. But the snow… yes. It was quieter there. The world would go still. Like time paused.”
She leaned her cheek against his back. “It’s still beautiful here. Just… louder.”
“I have you,” he said, turning to face her, his forehead brushing hers. “So it is tolerable.”
She smiled.
He kissed her.
And outside, the snow kept falling.
___
The snow outside had thickened by midafternoon, painting the city in a gentle silence Y/n rarely got to experience. The usual clamor of honking cars and impatient pedestrians had been replaced by the sound of winter—the occasional whoosh of a passing snowplow, the muffled crunch of boots on sidewalks far below.
Inside, warmth radiated from the oven as Y/n baked cinnamon rolls, humming to herself. Loki sat perched on the windowsill, his long fingers absentmindedly tracing frost patterns across the glass.
“I could freeze the whole city,” he murmured, gaze dreamy. “Turn it into a kingdom of ice. Crowns carved from icicles. Thrones made of frost. An empire glittering beneath the moon.”
Y/n turned from the kitchen, one eyebrow arched. “You’re romanticizing frostbite again, babe.”
Loki turned to her with that unmistakable smirk. “You wouldn’t mind ruling by my side, would you?”
She crossed the room, flour on her cheek and cinnamon on her sweater. “I think I’d prefer cocoa and central heating to royal duties and hypothermia.”
“Always so practical,” he murmured, reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
Y/n leaned into his palm despite the lingering chill of his touch. “Always enchanted.”
And just like that, Loki grinned—and flicked his fingers.
Y/n yelped as a flurry of actual snow materialized inside the apartment, swirling around them like they stood in the middle of a globe.
“Loki!”
He laughed, delighted, catching a flake on his tongue. “You said you wanted magic.”
“Not in the living room!” She swatted at the flurries as they gently dusted her hair and shoulders. “You’re going to soak the carpet!”
With another snap, the snow froze midair, then disappeared in a swirl of sparkling dust.
Y/n exhaled, unimpressed and damp. “One day, you’re going to cause a minor natural disaster just to make a point.”
“I’d never let it escalate to minor,” he said with mock indignation.
“Of course not. You’re a drama king.”
He bowed. “You say that like it’s an insult.”
⸻
(On the Balcony)
The snowfall outside was too pretty to resist. Y/n bundled herself in one of Loki’s oversized coats—it drowned her completely and still smelled faintly of magic and peppermint—and stepped out onto their balcony.
The snow had gathered in little piles on the railing and along the corners. Not enough for a full snowman, but enough for something small.
Loki watched from inside as Y/n knelt and began shaping snow into a tiny figure—round head, chubby body, two stick arms. It wobbled a little, lopsided and endearing.
When she turned to look for something to use as eyes, she found Loki standing beside her, conjuring two tiny onyx beads from his palm.
“For his eyes,” he offered.
Y/n smiled. “You’re helping?”
“I have a reputation to maintain,” he said loftily. “If this little creature is going to represent my kingdom, he needs a proper crown.”
With a swirl of his fingers, a miniature silver crown appeared, adorned with a blue gem no larger than a raindrop.
Y/n’s heart swelled.
Together, they perched the crown atop the snowman’s head.
“He needs a name,” Y/n said, inspecting their creation with pride.
“His Royal Frostiness the Third,” Loki replied without hesitation.
Y/n wheezed. “That’s awful.”
“Exactly.”
They stood there for a few more minutes, arms brushing, snow still drifting lazily around them.
Then Loki reached down and dusted a little snow off her nose. “Cold?”
She nodded.
He wrapped his arms around her from behind, hands folding gently over hers. “I could warm you.”
“You’re the reason I’m cold in the first place.”
“A tragic irony.”
“You’re impossible.”
“You adore me.”
She laughed. “I do.”
-The end

I had a question. Zeus and Hera in your fics are obviously happy, which i like because there is too much bad versions out there. But how do you picture their relationship looking like before? Do you still follow the myths or do you change things? Just wondering how Hera feels about all Zeus's affairs or if they even happened? Sorry if this has been asked before
thanks for the question!
i definitely still adhere to the myths as they are presented, with only a few small exceptions (zeus' children by persephone, being one of them), so yes! zeus still conducted affairs and hera still punished some of the women or their children. and yes, zeus and hera are still able to have a happy marriage!
i think this is mostly due to the nature of zeus' affairs. the fact of the matter is, zeus is the Father of the Gods (and heroes). it was quite literally his duty to father gods (and heroes), and this meant engaging in affairs, for not every single one of these individuals could have been born to him through hera. this does not absolve zeus of any agency - i don't mean to suggest that he should be excused or forgiven for his affairs, because they are still hurtful, but most of them were born out of obligation and duty as opposed to love. (this did not mean zeus held no affection for the women he bedded, but generally speaking, he was not about to up and leave his wife for any of them).
hera knows this. it doesn't mean it's easier to stomach, but it does mean she acknowledges her husband's duty. it can be painful, and she can be displeased, but i know that hera does not once doubt zeus' love for her. that's the important part. if zeus' dalliances were truly born out of true love for some of these women, hera's reactions would be harsher. her leaving him may have even been permanent.
but hera has a role to play. (i actually read a really good article about this once and i cannot find it again for the life of me, but anyway). if zeus is to father the gods, then hera is the one to test them. sometimes, her challenges are born of heartache and rage, but sometimes, its simply a test. are they good enough to live, work, and rule on her mountain? if so, prove it. hera is as much zeus' partner in ruling as she is his opposition, and the conflict between them is not necessarily hateful but a product of their natures, duties, and - quite frankly - being siblings. siblings fight, lmao.
now, this is not to say either that hera is absolved of anything. neither of them are. zeus cheats and it hurts hera. she lashes out and hurts those involved because she cannot - or will not - harm her husband. gods operate in a different world, obviously.
however, as we can see, hera does not punish all of them. i would even say that she does not punish most. there are a few exceptions, and i think this is where the real hurt lies. hera seems to lash out most when there is deception involved (not in how zeus conducts the affair, but how he involves her), such as with io and echo, or when there is a genuine threat to her or her family. leto being the obvious answer here, as both (i think) a close friend and powerful goddess associated with motherhood, her relationship with zeus was threatening. the children she and zeus would have could be powerful, moreso than hera's own children. the sting of betrayal and the threat drove hera to act as she did, not just the nature of it being an affair.
semele is another one i like to think of in similar terms, though the evidence is slightly less, i think. this is one of the examples where i think zeus' affection and love were more genuine, including the favouritism (i like to think) zeus showed to dionysus, and so hera's wrath was more intense. but zeus takes numerous lovers, and hera doesn't punish even close to half of them - so her pain is not necessarily solely associated with the act of an affair but the consequences, motives, and methods of said affair.
one of my mutuals ( @bcowlick ) actually just posted about this too, but essentially - zeus loves hera the most. he always will. his affairs are largely impersonal (not exclusively, but largely), and his love for her is able to see past the harm hera can cause and her own treachery. man is in love HARD, and so is she. they argue and have godly level spats because it is their natures, but as such, they can still have a loving marriage.
it also helps that, after a certain point in time, i think the affairs stop. zeus has fulfilled his duty. he has no reason now to stray from his wife, and i fully believe that hera knew this. she was holding out for it. i love their messy, complicated, but absolutely adoring relationship.
thanks again!! this was fun :D
#this also isn't even touching on what zeus and hera represent like. on a bigger level#but that's for another day#renee's headcanons.

It's Magic ✨🍁
Slightly Spooky, cute lil story about Eddie and the new witch in town ✨🍁🎃
Warnings: Eddie Munson x witch reader, soulmate bond. Cute and fluffy.
🖤🍁
Don't copy, reuse or repost my work.
There was something weird happening in Hawkins and it wasn't the usual Upside Down related weird that usually happened.
Eddie could just sense it, some spooky shit was going down and he was here for it.
He had watched enough horror movies in his life to prepare for whatever potential shit was going to happen.
It occurred to him he was maybe being a tad dramatic, there was a definite change in the air but it didn't feel like anything to worry about.
Eddie never thought he would say this after helping Dustin, his friends and the super powered kid El defeat Vecna and close the Upside Down for good, but he was bored.
Hawkins was back to its pre Upside Down level of dull and while he was grateful he was still alive and kicking and the end of the world hadn't happened, he wanted a teeny bit of excitement.
Which is why he was convincing himself that the things happening were something to be investigated.
Mostly the spooky shit had been happening to him. Weird dreams, a sense that he was waiting for something or someone.
There was also the cute but pesky little black cat that had took up residence in his room.
It was kinda nice to have something happen even if it was vivid dreams and cute felines.
Which is why he was at your place, you were the new girl in town and everyone from Steve to Dustin to Gareth was intrigued by you.
There was something about you... Something that Eddie couldn't place, something different but he was sure you were why he was feeling like everything was different.
Not that he had officially met you yet but for some reason you were in his dreams a lot. They were weird and wonderful but still unexpected.
Eddie didn't know why he was dreaming of you, shit you were pratically a stranger to him but you appeared in his dreams and there was this sense that deep down he had known you all his life.
It was witchcraft or something. That much he knew. Something was afoot and Eddie wanted to find out what.
He had tried telling Dustin his thoughts about you but the little shrimp thought you hung the moon so it was no use.
Eddie didn't know what he expected to find when he arrived at your house, except for the fact it was decorated to the nines for Halloween, there was nothing strange about it.
In fact, Eddie admired how realistic some of the decorations looked and got distracted by the cats that were hanging around in your back yard.
He was just about to leave when he noticed sparkles of light in the air, at first he assumed they were fireflies but as he got closer he realised they were something else, balls of light shaped like orbs.
If he didn't know any better he would say there was something magical about the glowing sparkling orbs.
He was about to dismiss the fact that magic wasn't real but after all the shit he had seen it was enough for him not to rule out the thought entirely, enough for him to follow the lights that seemed to be beckoning him.
A small part of his mind wondered if this was the part in the horror films where he should run but he had a feeling that he wasn't in any danger.
That's when he saw you. The glowing lights circled around you and then disappeared with a flick of your hand.
What the fuck?
He stared at the spot where they had vanished and then at you.
Fuck, no wonder Steve was smitten. You were beautiful. He gawks at you for a second before feeling like an idiot.
"Uh hey" he attempts to appear cool and composed, determined not to turn into an awkward babbling idiot but you were just so pretty.
Eddie wasn't a smooth lothario by any means but he could be confident, flirty, strut around and make pretty girls laugh when he wanted to.
However, you had made him clam up, shyness wasn't really something he struggled with. Until he saw you.
"Eddie Munson, you should try being more sneaky if you're going to attempt to spy on a lady" You tease and he gulps.
"I wasn't... Shit, I was just... Uh I got curious about you and just wanted to figure you out. There's something about you sweetheart"
A soft smile touches your lips and you approach him. He feels a little nervous, enchanted by your sweet smile and kind eyes.
"Something spooky yet intriguing? Dustin let slip" far from being offended you look amused but Eddie curses.
"Little butthead" You giggle and it takes a second for him to notice that the lights are back again, swirling around you and him.
"Uh, cool tricks" he grins and you grin at him as the whole backyard begins to glow even brighter, like fairylights all aglow.
"Oh, it's no trick handsome" You click your fingers and the lights disappear once more.
Eddie blinks rapidly, he can't ignore what's in front of him again.
"You're a witch"
"A badass one at that" the smile slips from your face and for a second you look sad.
"Do you mind keeping this a secret? Small town and all, anyone figures out that I'm a witch then either I'm suddenly their best friend or their enemy. Depends what use I am to them"
Eddie's heart aches for you and he nods. He won't tell a soul.
"I just want to be at peace here with my family, my coven. Make a home" he touched your hand, stunned at the sparks he feels when his hand touches yours.
The softness of your skin, those pretty eyes are enough for him to fall even more under your spell. Figuratively of course.
"I won't tell anyone sweetheart, I just don't understand why you told me" you peer at him your expression shy.
"You're in my dreams Eddie Munson and I bet I'm in yours too. I feel like I've known you all my life. I can trust you" his heart skips a beat as you kiss his cheek.
"Can I see you again?" he blurts out and that sweet smile is back on your lips.
"Absolutely, but you're not done seeing me now Mr Munson" you take his hand and he follows you, his heart stolen by you already.
There's a little chirp of a meow and the black cat that's been hanging around his trailer slinks between his legs and yours purring happily.
"Hey, that's the cat that's been following me around " he blushes as you grin.
"Do you like him? I know he's been hanging around you. He's my familiar and was curious about you. His name is Ozzy"
"Ozzy like Ozzy Osborne?" you nod and Eddie is pretty sure he's in love with you already.
His little witch.

Can you bestow some of your knowledge on me and teach us how to draw in the peppa pig artstyle? I'm planning on animating some fake clips of the show to put my oc in so pleeeaseeee help
(Also I'm absolutely ecstatic that there are other peppa pig fans out there, I thought I was the only one)
Lineart thickness between characters should always be the same regardless of the size difference. Some characters accidentally dont follow the rule, and it looks off, for example babybears head lineart being too thin. On props and backgrounds it kinda depends they dont have strict consistency tbh
Lineart on characters is usually straight and simple but can have some areas slightly thicker than others. When the lineart is on the outfit of a character or a prop or background, the lineart weights/thickness can have a lot of variety. Long/straight lines are usually wobbly also.
Overlapping lines is pretty frequent, cant think of any exceptions except for some outfits and specific props.
Things like plants, grass, paintings, leaves, and paper drawings usually have the coloring offset from the lineart or no lineart at all.
Characters in background photos usually have a more simplified lineless style with dot eyes
The limbs can stretch if necessary, arms extend preeetty often in the show
Shadows always have 50% opacity. Sometimes they overlap with eachother, sometimes they merge, its kinda confusing i dont know. They seem to merge mostly when hey are static objects and overlap when they are both moving and the shadows just so happened to collide, i guess its unintentional.
The colors are pastel, very rarely (or never) strong and saturated.
For lineart: when coloring, for example, a dress, and ur on the lineart, you would want to color pick the original color and change the hue and saturation so it looks darker thanks to color values. It can be just doing the same color but a bit darker, but its often a mix of sliiightly darker plus hue/saturation shifting.
If an object is white, the lineart is a light gray (or sometimes dark)
If an object is pitch black, the lineart is a dark gray (or sometimes light)
If a species has a very small snout, they dont have the weird picasso proportions going on. For example the cats and humans.
peppas boots are golden. this is factually true.
And a fun fact is all pigs have different proportions (minus uncle and the aunts but who cares about them)
This is mostly seen thanks to flashbacks.
Toddler peppa's proportions were different than george's. His ears are bigger and his chin isnt that out.
When peppas parents were her age, they had different proportions. Granny and grandpa have different face proportions than mummy and daddy also.
Evie and alexander also have some differences with the ears, chin, nose, and eyes
While the rigged animation is smooth, the framerate of hand drawn animations isnt too high. Each mouth expression has like 5-6 frames, the eyes have 3, i dont remember for the fingers bending but it was also few. When props are interacted with they also dont have many frames.
the expressions dont change that much (in peppa tales they do every 2 seconds but not in the main show), most of the time the characters will be either :) or :|
the ~~~ mouth and :( and :o and :0 faces are only used when necessary (looking at you peppa tales) and the characters arent constantly moving, when idle they only look around and blink most of the time
when a character turns around, the body squished horizontally for 1 frame before flipping horizontally and then a frame after the flip it unsquishes. The characters also blink when turning their head, which is a good animation tip in general
they use premade animations most of the time, heres the ones i have written down on my phone:
Walk START
Walk
Walk STOP
Skip START
Skip
Skip STOP
Hand1 pointing Family
Hand2 pointing Family
Angry
Seated
Squat
On Back Laughing
Run on Spot
Family Walk (when shes with a crowd)
Hands on Hips (for when shes sassy)
Splodges On ALL (for muddy puddles)
Arms by Side
TURN AROUND
Heads Shoulders (the heads shoulders dance)
Dance (the dance where they just swing their arms while laughing like idiots)
thats what i have on my mind rn feel free to ask more specific questions if u have any

Day 1: Fashion Faeward
Woah, our very first ttrpg, let’s have a looksie.
Alright this one’s fine.
This 10 page ttrpg that’s mostly tables is about putting on a fashion show for the fey. It mostly involves rolling random numbers to determine your clothes and then voting on them. You make a character (via rolling or selecting traits, which aren’t important except for powers, which range from choosing an article of clothing instead of rolling to doing a runway walk to add three points to your score. Your “score” is accumulated by rolling for an item of clothing per round, then announcing it, then being voted on by other players. Basically it’s about who can sell the latest addition to their outfit to their peers. You keep a running tally of the score, most points at the end of six rounds wins. It’s really a 1 page ttrpg disguised as a multi-page ttrpg, so I will be brief. One thing I’ll note here is that none of these are meant to disparage anyone working on them unless otherwise stated. All of these are cute and I’m glad they exist. Not a hater. Just an enjoyer that likes critiquing and cataloguing. Originality: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one gets full marks from me. If it is riffing off something, it’s not something I know about. The name is punny, the theme is interesting, I like it. It’s got moxie.
Mechanics: ⭐⭐ I’m not a huge fan of the variance and I’m not sure it’s fully explicable in-universe. I like that the players vote on each other (rather than having a GM or alternative adjudication system), and the powers are neat whether you select or roll for them, but I just feel like at its core it’s sort of a game where the dice determine pretty much everything with little input from the players. The powers are impactful for sure but less so than the rolls.
Replayability: ⭐⭐
I could see this being fun a few times, maybe. For me it seems like a one and done affair, but if you have multiple friend groups that like ttrpgs (or just board games) or you wanted to break it out as a particularly nerdy party game, you could get away with playing it more. To me it doesn’t scream replayability.
Variance: ⭐*
I have an asterisk (not a second star) because there’s something important here. If you SELECT your character, their likes and dislikes, power, and you really get into it (which the rules don’t facilitate OR harm), then I could see some variance. However, I feel like even though the game lets you select things, the tables make me feel as if it’s geared towards rolling. For my money, while this adds variance, it does so in a way that’s out of my hands. Plus, even fully getting into it, the rules don’t give you much in the way of RP. For what it’s worth, despite being in the TTRPG bundle, it reads almost more in the vein of a Jackbox game, and not in a bad way. There’s variance here, it’s just not the usual controlled variance I’d expect from a TTRPG, it feels more like a board game. Which is cool! I’m reviewing it as a TTRPG because it’s in the TTRPG bundle, but it seems good for wacky hijinks. Character Creation: ⭐⭐
Hesitant to give anything a one-star because I feel like it’s all very inoffensive and could be much worse. Character creation would be a one-star if not for that logic. Doesn’t really encourage you to make a character so much as to set up a small series of boxes. The like/dislike system doesn’t really give them much personality, and neither do (some of) the powers. So I feel like they end up being vessels for the players rather than characters. Granted there are still options and some funny things you can probably mess with for it.
Overall: ⭐⭐
I'd give it a 2.5 but I'm not a coward. I know that most of the marks here are on the lower end but just for how different this is from anything I’ve read (which is a longer list than it may at first seem) this gets a thumbs up from me. Maybe not a particularly enthusiastic one, but it’s going for something different and if you, as a player, wanted to take the time to really flesh out the concepts, it doesn’t even make for a bad roleplaying game. As it stands it does, again, feel more like a party game, but it’s also only a dollar. I’m gonna link the itch.io page for it below (and I’ll try to do that every time) and I would highly recommend perusing it (it’s a dollar!)

Percabeth, planet au. (Except this is just a draft and is not the final product bc it's messy af and makes no sense)
@auroraofthesun1 @lemonsandsadness @ebony-reine-vibes (thanks for supporting me here it's making me really happy)
So if you've forgotten what which au god represents here u go bc I want everyone to always know and I have the clipboard feature on my phone.
Reminder that even though there are planet NAMES they are not related to the actual Roman gods. Separate thing. Like completely.
Mercury main: sea, stars, mischief
Venus main: sun, leadership, education
Mars: electricity, fire, mechanics
Jupiter: human brain, joy, mischief
Saturn: healing, kindness, flowers
Uranus: anger, war, protection
Neptune: music, beauty/romance, deception
Pluto: home,love, family, death
Perseus Jackson, Son of Mercury-
Raised by Sally Jackson and later Gabe Ugliano, Percy Jackson is the son of one of the most important gods, Mercury. Percys' abilities include general water control as well as more prophetic powers (the average demigod receives 300 prophetic dreams per year is a statistical error, children of Mercury, who's dad is the ruler of divination and the stars, is a statistical error and should not have been counted). As well as this, he also rules over mischief, similar to Jupiter, so those children have more of a mischievous streak.
Percy grew up with his mom and Gabe, and he had to attend school after school due to anger issues, dyslexia and ADHD (everything that affects demigods in pjo also affects demigods here). Tbh percys' backstory is pretty similar to pjo. He receives dremas about the future a lot and is running a small tarot business in every school he goes to. Its not that he really believes in it, but it makes him money and he's...surprisingly good. (Honestly I haven't really worked on his backstory a lot)
Annabeth chase:
Daughter of Venus, the Queen of the gods, meaning Annabeth is even MORE stressed. It also means that Thalia is her sister. Daughter of Fredrick Chase and later Niaomi Chase when her dad remarried, she is the daughter of the leadership goddess. So her powers include enhanced smarts and logic, excelling in the field of academics (with a favourite for architecture, but that's formed by herself, really). She also has light powers and is able to know every single law. All of them, depending on her location (I'm struggling to think of any other leadership ones, if u have any help a sister out?!).
She ran away at age 7, meeting her sister thalia Grace and the child of Jupiter Luke Casteallen (idk HOW u even spell this man's last name). They arrived at Camp. But thalia was HATED by her mother, and vice versa. Thalia was turning annabeth against the gods before Luke even had a chance frfr. Bur annabeth learns to hate her mother, too, partly because of thalia and partly because Venus never actually saved her. But they get to Camp, and instead of thalia being turned into a tree for her insubordination, it's Luke. This is because Venus thinks that if her daughters nearly favourite person, who was also not her child (annabeth, who still had potential to be manipulated) was harmed due to thalias mistake of hating her mom, thalia was follow the gods not to let that happen again. and it does not work. She runs off after a year and often sneaks in to try and get annabeth, who is mostly a vulnerable, lonely child who is in a camp which she was already skeptical about, is left to basically fight for herself and be very much manipulated by her mom. Who does. She manages to convince annabeth that thalia was wrong, that the gods love her and if she does everything her mother says, she can be a minor god one day and be loved by everyone
And it works. After years and years of convincing, she basically grooms her own child into being the perfect godly daughter and leader of the Venus cabin. While also being mean to her half the time. :) After a while, thalai realises that she's basically never going to get her little sister back or at least the one she knew. :)
I hope this wasn't bad :)

A Small Passion Project.
Heya! I know I've been quiet lately but that's mostly because of school, which is out for me now. Anyways, I am working on a little something with my friends. Basically a remake of a much older roleplay to flesh it out and give it new life. I'm calling it Heavenly Divinity! Of course I might have other side projects alongside this one but this one will be my main priority. If you're interested and want to show it to your friends, feel free to reblog. Below is a more detailed description.
The roleplay is set on a fictional continent called Forengard. It is connected to our world but can only be accessed through certain portals in the sea (ex. the Bermuda Triangle). Thus the world is similar but different because it contains actual magic as energy. It's similar to all other energy and comes from the core of the planet it's sitting on (which is made of an element on the actual periodic table, but as for which one I have not decided yet.) This magical energy allows much of the life on Forengard to live, and it is processed through their bodies very similar to the way our own bodies synthesize ATP (adenosine triphosphate, for you non-biology people). There are many magical beings, ex. griffins, dragons, demigods, magicians, deities, etc., as magic can be either inherited or learned, but inherited magic is usually stronger and more reliable than learned magic.
The main and most powerful magical beings in Forengard are deities. These deities are very similar to the gods and goddesses of primarily greek mythology. A large pantheon of these deities rules over the overworld, the underworld, and everything in between. Deities can be born from two deity parents or become a deity by one of two paths: they can either be granted the power to become a deity by another deity or they can become a deity from a lowly mortal from contact with a very mysterious and rare plant called an ambrosia flower. There are several different colors of these flowers and each grants a different type of power, the most powerful being a blue flower, which grants full deity power without repercussions. All of the other flowers have some kind of drawback that goes along with them. For example, a black flower gives deity power, but it slowly drains an aspect of the deity, such as their sanity. You can be a deity of a max of three things and it's usually what the common people worship you for or is derived from what powers you have. There are other subtypes of deities as well, such as eldritch deities. Demigods also exist and are usually below the power of deities, because deities are the only magical beings to be immortal - no other magical creature can possess immortality EXCEPT for deities. Demigods are the product of a human and a deity. Demigods and other magical beings are born with magic, but they usually do not become aware of it until they are older, around 5-8 years old or as late as early teen years. However, some demigods aren't born with magic at all, although this is incredibly rare and only occurs in about 10 out of 1,000 demigod births. Due to their heritage, demigods are also more susceptible to disease and disability than mortals of their deities. Demigods born with ailments occurs in about 60 to 100 births, or in a 3/5ths ratio, and it is more likely to happen if their deity parent was once mortal. However, death only occurs in about 10-20 of these individuals, or about 30% at its height. Nonetheless, demigods usually possess superhuman abilities and strength and are celebrated throughout history as heroes.
There are other prominent magical species as well but I won't go into detail about them as this is just an intro post. But here is a basic explanation of the magical tiers and who is generally put under them. These aren't strict and are more for generalization purposes. There are five, notated using roman numerals, and each one increases in power. Tier I includes the least powerful of magical beings. This includes all demigods and any mortal who possesses magic, as well as deities who need a magical talisman to use their magic (which I will explain later). Tier II deities are slightly more powerful than Tier II. These deities typically have some kind of drawback that inhibits them from using the full extent of their power under any circumstance. The difference from Tier I is that the magic is carried with them and it does not simply fade when they close their spellbook or lose their talisman, and that performing large spells, such as lifting curses, can seriously hurt them. The deities who get their power from black ambrosia flowers, who I mentioned before, fall under this tier. Tier III includes your standard fire and ice deities that do not have any kind of power that influences the entire world, like the deities that govern the seasons. Tier IV includes the deities that have powers that influence the entire world but not to the extent of things like life or death. The deities that govern the seasons that I mentioned above would fall into this category. Deities that would also fall into this category are those that can control the weather and the land. Tier V includes the most omnipotent of deities. These typically include your life and death deities. These deities influence the entire overworld and/or underworld. There is also an optional Tier VI that some magical scholars use to categorize deities that are of other universes and possess magic that is not entirely understood or is completely unknown. This tier often includes eldritch deities. However, this tier is not widely used and they are often lumped into the Tier V with the others. I would elaborate more into the tiers and how deity power works, but I don't want to break your brains with how complex it can be. Like how deities aren't really immortal. But we tend to lie to ourselves in science for simplicity purposes, so many scholars choose to group deities as immortal anyway. If I am pressed, I may elaborate on this later. But I must leave.

In-universe there has been a clear change in the green lantern corps structure within the last several decades. Originally (as relevant to published material), Green Lanterns worked mostly alone, with exceptions made for sectors with unusually high demand being allowed to request help from neighbors. The change over time from a highly disconnected to highly interconnected corps is charted in-universe over the course of Hal Jordan’s career.
(GL 1960 #6)
The broad strokes are that the planet Oa was not originally the hub for the GLs, and its location was secret along with all information concerning the guardians.
The GLs are seen holding a conference with one another on a completely different world, Yquem. They assemble to compare notes, suggesting that there is very little of consistent procedure from one to another. Certainly they hadn’t been trained according to the same regiment.
(GL 1960 #9)
In issue #127, the corps assembles as a whole for what is stated explicitly to be the first time in order to combat the Qwardians.
The next step is after the first major destruction of the corps, when its members are reduced to around 7 (Hal, John, Katma, Chip, Salaak, Kilowog, and Arisia, with the suggestion that others are probably around as well) The guardians aren’t around much, but this marks an increase in corps cohesion, even if it happens on a small scale.
(I almost forgot to include emerald dawn!) Emerald dawn, the '89 mini-series rewriting Hal's origin, also featured solo GLs, and newbies are not immediately summoned to Oa as they will be by 2005, but by this point it's retconned that Oa is (and has been) a hub for the corps, the guardians hold audience with their servants, and there's required training for rookies from an archetypical drill instructor. Corps members are also shown to be familiar with cooperation and even follow standardized named-numbered maneuvers.
(Emerald Dawn #5)
Back in at-time current-continuity the corps begins to rebuild in the 90s up to about a dozen members, after which Hal takes his turn destroying the corps.
From the rebirth era onwards, sector partners are the done thing. The corps is firmly entrenched on Oa itself, trains its officers to a regimented (collective, no longer one-on-one) standard, with formalized code words, a dining hall, residence on Oa, and miscellaneous shifts, special positions, and general housekeeping going on.
(GL 2005 #31) with its inclusion of the corps members splash page)) This is the same run that delivers the territorial edict - considerably different in tone but serving the same purpose as the original GL solo assignments. Johns takes the time to acknowledge and resolve the solo-GL structure. It used to be the default, but now that the corps is back in business (again) the rule of twos is observed. Johns' retcon damages the integrity of the change over time that this post is attempting to demonstrate, while also reinforcing its essentials.
A Green Lantern officer is now a standardized thing, further increasing the already existing redundancy of having multiple team members filling the same narrative position to an extreme. Some of the best material, even from this era onwards, has come from artists who deliberately ignore or circumvent this status quo (Most of what Hal does between 2005 and 2011 falls outside standard corps procedure, other mentions: Morrison’s The Green Lantern, and Green Lantern 2021 (the Jo sections))
So! The GL corps is a big team now, it's narrative redundancy to the max, the apparent interest of many writers has shifted away from solo stories. Why does this corps centralization still matter?
In-universe this shift has taken place over the course of one (human!) lifetime.
This is a huge change in a tiny amount of time to an organization that has existed for ages ages ages. Here’s a few points of interest.
1) Depictions of “corps culture” for lack of a better term are disingenuous. Even accepting publication times as canon times, the corp has existed in its current form for no more than 20 years (at a stretch.) New territory is being charted in-universe concerning the distribution and application of enormous power.
2) Given that the latest installments in the mythos have been concerned with the collectivizing of the entire universe, it's worth noting that planets and their institutions have history with Green Lanterns, but not with a Green Lantern corps. For ages going back, one thing was done, and that thing has been altered dramatically. What a Green Lantern symbolizes or is understood to be on most inhabited planets, and what it currently is are at odds. The idea that alien institutions should be wary, inquisitive, or even hostile to the corps is very much justified. I’d love to see this angle explored in more specific terms than the excellent united planets sequence that starts out the 2021 run.
(GL 2021 #1)
3) It adds context to the Guardians actions. These are people to whom even the isolation of disconnection from psychic commune is so terrible that it drives Appa Ali Apsa insane. Why did they organize the corps this way in the first place? Was it an extension of their paranoia over the Manhunters (like the yellow buildings on Oa) with the intention of weakening the corps against unification against them? Was it with the intention of distributing their power to avoid abusing it or militarizing in exactly the way they have done in recent decades?
It’s safe to say that the centralization of the corps is a defensive gesture by the guardians. It could be a response to several things (Krona, the Qwardians, Sinestro, the Blackest Night) all of which posed a direct threat to them. Their secret refuge is no longer safe for them. There's also the fact that Hal (a single GL) destroyed their whole operation right before this restructuring. But the point is that they have changed very suddenly for ancient immortals. Their later narrative transition to the antagonists of the franchise has a good basis - something has been up with them in recent times, and it points towards increasing paranoia.
4) It matters to Abin! He spent his whole career working solo. And for that matter - every other GL that lived and died (or retired) previous to Hal’s career. Was working alone and all but un-interfered with harder to withstand? Was it more enjoyable? More justifiable? Abin Sur was a Green Lantern since at least 1882 (as per legends of the DC Universe #21 - lookit him fight some cowboys!)
His experience working alone for hundreds of years would have left a significantly different impact on him than the current mode. He had a career that would be practically unrecognizable to anyone recruited from 2005 on.
It also contributes to his ability to consider the guardians a great threat following blackest night (apart from their deliberate sabotage of his reputation) - he received assignments from them, but he wasn’t trained according to their regiment, and he wouldn’t have been in a habit of holding conference with them. The GLs were literally distant from one another, but all the more so from the guardians.
5) This should have an impact on the dynamic between the earth lanterns (in as much as there is any dynamic) Kyle's first year as GL has a lot more in common with Hal’s first year as GL than either John or Guy's. Jo is possibly the only lantern initiated since the reorganization that has that same experience of isolated operations (it was only on a much much smaller scale until her experience as last man standing in the 2021 run) John, Guy, Simon, and Jessica don’t have the same experience of sustained isolated responsibility for an entire sector (this is not an insult or a suggestion that they couldn’t hack it - it’s worth mentioning because it should characterize their attitude towards the corps, the guardians, and other Green Lanterns)
6) It singles out Sinestro and Hal! Those two are among the only lanterns alive with experience serving the guardians in the long term (for multiple years continuously) before the centralization of the corps (others include: Salaak, Mogo, maybe Arisia (is she still dead?), and I’m tempted not to count Kilowog). And Sinestro is the only lantern still in the game (possibly not the only one alive, but they would be off-panel retirees from the guardians service) who has primarily served as a Green Lantern in that solo capacity (brief stay in 2011 noted, and also currently)
That’s a huge difference in perspective. The corps was a fundamentally different organization at the time he served the guardians.
Sinestro and Abin probably worked together very little. Their friendship may have been primarily long-distance (evidence to support includes the fact that Sinestro hasn’t met Arin by the time of Qull’s prophecy)
It's also worth noting that Sinestro mostly poses a solo threat throughout history. The introduction of the Sinestro corps is a clear departure. (this is as far as story action/plot goes. there's often been Qwardians or random mobsters or myrwhydden playing support Also Sector 3600) Most of the time, Sinestro is an isolated power. He looks with contempt on the necessity of calling your sector partner - as far as he's concerned, his time as Green Lantern was more demanding.
(GL Corps 2006 #14)
Up until the Sinestro corps, he was sort of bookmarking the old way of being a green lantern. You can never forget that the GLs once worked in singularity when they’re regularly menaced by a single former-GL.
7) Note that over the course of the 60s run the transition from solo to duo to group meetings to big corps wide crises was tied very naturally into hal's discovery of the corps. The reason it wasn't connected initially is just that that part of the mythos hadn't been made up yet. Its good fun to watch it unfold! (It also adds substance to Hal's position as corps golden boy - he's been present and the deciding factor in some major changes in recent history, even excluding Emerald Twilight. He's also one of the longest lived and longest serving Green Lanterns currently alive (including Mogo, Salaak, Sinestro, etc.))
8) The potential of all these rad aliens working together is too cool to pass up. But that doesn't necessitate this kind of regimentation of the corps. And to that point, the idea that being a GL is similar to the military or the police (while present previously to some extent) is the contribution of artists from 2005 onwards. This analysis would be incomplete without acknowledging that this very interesting gradual evolution over the course of the series history is capped off by a pretty sudden leap which was motivated not necessarily with an intent to yes-and earlier trends, but to create a novel parallel within the mythos to subject matter which Johns was interested in exploring. (That being said, it still completes the pattern, and usefully sets the stage for the corruption of the guardians and the GL corps as a whole.)
There's a lot of substance in the isolation of the green lanterns of old in contrast with the new model. It also supports continuity well with a specific demonstrable gradual change in-universe.
It also contributed a lot to the tone of the early lantern mythos.
In the 60s run, the role of Green Lantern was a perpetual barrier to real connection with other people for Hal. The fame and the power and the distance made commonality impossible, no matter how easy it was to take off the ring. In the 90s run, it was a contributor to the excellent characterization of Hal as a man just on the edge of humanity, always with one foot on the off side of omnipotency - which eventually supplied the basis for Emerald Twilight
By definition, a Green Lantern is set apart from other people - set above them! The Guardians' judgement that bravery and honesty are the most important virtues is used to justify putting the fate of galaxies into the hands of otherwise ordinary people. The discomfort of the mythos with its own premise has served to flatten it.
By distributing the power between characters with a redundant narrative role, and by providing a kind of community to the Green Lanterns, that crucial estrangement that marked the early mythos is lost.

Gale Dekarios: A Mansplainer or a Wizardsplainer? And I am off on another Gale related topic yet again, this time it involves a small subset of individuals who believe that Gale Dekarios is a mansplainer. Yes you heard it, Gale Dekarios is a mansplainer! I know, I know I want to roll my eyes hard enough to see the back of my skull as well. Let me preface this by saying I am not here to undermine the harm that mansplaining does to the recipients, typically anyone presenting as a women or playing as a woman. Mansplaining is a real problem in the gaming, TTRPG, and LARP-ing world. As someone who identifies as a woman I know this. When you are maligned, treated like you don't understand, talked down to, objectified, or your character is side-lined as milady who is helpless or forced into certain roles with expectations, it is infuriating. I just want my female barbarian to feast on the flesh of her enemies and use their splintered bones as toothpicks without someone saying women aren't supposed to do that. Mostly it's because your woman presenting character is too masculine and dude-bro paladin needs a girlfriend to protect and do the dirt with (because that's all your character is good for, oh and maybe healing), but we are not here for it. I've seen this happen to men playing characters that are women as well, it's a disease. It sucks, you experience it enough and any time a man starts talking it can be a trigger. I get it! With that in mind I think mansplaining loses its meaning when we take it out of context and just apply it to any kind of trigger. Context matters, understanding the material matters, the lore matters. What does not matter in Baldur's Gate 3 is your character's gender. Let's be very clear, if you are playing the game through the lens of a woman and your character is also a woman and you think Gale is mansplaining to you then you need to reset your game and play it as a man. I tend to spice up my gender variety for funsies and if you are constantly playing as the gender that matches your gender identity you might just view the game through that lens. I'm also going to be real I'm a M/M slasher, I go back and play Gale and Astarion as the origin protags because Bloodweave for life baby! But I do mix it up with genders. So what happens when you are playing entirely through a singular lens, when you are a woman playing as a character that is a woman? You might look at Gale as a mansplainer, but the reality is he's running on a script and he is going to say the same thing to you if you are speaking to him as a cis-man/woman, trans-man/woman, non-binary, or if you are Astarion (okay you might get a bit of variation because it's Astarion and not Tav), but the script is still the script. Your Tav is going to get the script. Now the second part of this is that Gale is a Wizard, you know when someone is a wizz they are very good and successful at the thing they do. Okay so if you are playing as a Sorcerer or some other magically tangent class, you might think Gale is a magic snob, that you are a Sorcerer or you are also playing a character that knows magic as well and him explaining magic to you is him being condescending and talking down to you. No. Gale is a Wizard, Wizards are magically superior, their knowledge is magically superior, this is the rule not the exception. Pick up your D&D handbook, flip to the part where it talks about Wizards and it will tell you they are supreme magic users, they are scholars of the arcane, they are the mathematicians and programmers of magic. They understand it. They have the Ph.D., Sorcerers at best have their A.S., and any other class that uses magic has their H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. Sorcerers are talented magic users, but their knowledge is limited, they rely on raw potential and inherent ability. They don't have the same range because they did not go to graduate school, but they believe they are superior due to carrying a magical birthright through bloodline.

so a bit ago i decided to write up some of my characters in the Aberrant setting (a superhero RPG, and initially a deconstrunctionist one, which by default meant that my characters needed some adjustment to fit, as most of them are not human), a setting focused on how superheroic powers affect the world and cause industries to change around them, with stuff like super strength being mainly used in construction labor as an example, or super intelligence/gadget stuff being IMMENSELY valuable and game-changing in technological industries, and it got me to thinking:
having my characters make sense in a real life-ish context was pretty fun, and it would fun to have something vaguely similar in my setting, which already takes a lot of its aesthetics from Final Fantasy 6 and 7, so this is a natural adjustment in some ways, just make things a BIT more modern-ish
so here's an idea for that, in my regular setting:
instead of taking place immediately in the aftermath of an apocalypse, it is instead set a generation or two afterwards. The previous generation were akin to the battle shoenen archetype, gathering into small groups of powerful heroes who waged war upon a grand alliance of villains and powerful forces of cosmic oblivion and/or tyranny and won, though many became somewhat bitter or the horrors of war made them harsh in a way that the younger generation is not
these heroes were instrumental in creating a number of city-states, their teams of fighters and people curious in the ways of magic creating somewhat larger organizations that have since evolved into an equivalent to adventurer guilds and unions, which organize Weird Adventure Stuff, give out quests and settle disputes; it is assumed the main characters and those like them are currently outside the auspices of such a group, at least initially.
within these city states, magitech conveniences create something akin to real life technology vibes; there are media equivalent to the Internet, TV and media of all kinds (Along with weirder stuff like cyberspace and simulations), and just about any real life technology is present for the most part, except where it interferes with the vibe of the setting (so for instance, radar is nonexistent, so you get more dogfights in aircraft). Technology is a bit closer to 90s aesthetics, and communication is less reliable; you might get landlines, but cell phones are rare outside of unique and powerful magical items.
In general, these are created from the study of magically powered devices (or magitech) that operate spells to achieve their function, and don't really rely on infrastructure, but are DERIVED from long-dormant infrastructure and ruins, which is important for characters to repair to improve the world. Each city state is basically its own entity, with weird magic stuff going on to render most real life issues with this mostly a non-issue.
The 'fresh, wild world' themes previously emphasized in the setting still apply. Either this is a relatively safe 'level' of reality, or a stabilized pocket, and outside things get weirder. Most likely, the material world of mortals is an inherently chaotic place where strong magic makes the world operate on weird magical rules and becomes deeply weird; when enough people gather, their collective weight of ideas and will make magic stabilize; so near cities and settlements, the complete chaos becomes more stable, if weird (you get floating islands, talking trees and so on). This wild space is limitless and without boundary, so the younger generation of heroes, including the main characters, are increasingly encouraged to get strong and venture out of the city to claim their own territory, battle remnants of the villain alliance and the tyrant ghost-vampires that command them now, learn from heroes who have settled laboratory/training grounds to conduct experiments and teach anyone who wants to learn from them, and otherwise do cool adventuring things
the city-states remain, and thus offer an opportunity to act as hub worlds or something similar to Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts and similar worlds in that series; a relatively stable place to return to for safety, or do mundane-ish slice of life things when the situation calls for. After a tough fight with the Ten Thousand Chokeslam Throng at the tournament, its only good manners for them to treat you to a solid week of barbeque and arcade games day until the debt of 'whoa we thrashed you REAL SICK-NASTY, sorry dudes' is alleviated

Sprry for just answerimg a smoll part of thr ask my brain is m u s h rn (i jist woke up)
OH DANG but I love that idea about the maids and such in the castle! Demons that messed up so bad, now Barb keeps them at the castle to work??? What was that about not giving into the darkness???? lk;asdfkjlfd
that castle is huge and full of monsters. you can't tell me only lil D's and Barb & Dia live there. where are the guards ? the other workers?? little D's are more like silly children adopted by Barb- y'know when a family has debts to pay so the child goes to work at the castle
like that except there is no debt to pay they just want that lol
anyway so there are possibly more people in the castle, and Barb really doesn't.. do work that much. he mostly just bakes for Diavolo & when there are celebrations or other important things happening. that huge castle does not have one small kitchen istg the HOL's kitchen looks bigger 😭 and he also checks on the other worker's works, I prefer to think his duties are like Dia's. Diavolo is a very busy demon*, so he mostly does the work with people, and brings Justice™ to Devildom. ofc there are things Diavolo has to be present for, but most of the things are done either by Barbatos or people he chose (in different parts of the country, not everyone can meet the duke or the Prince himself.)
alright back on track I think the workers who work "above the ground" in castle are normal people/or "light" criminals or slaves left from war times (poor guys lol)
but lower, in the dangerous/more private parts of the castle like the dungeons or Diavolo's private garden The workers are poor souls who forgot everything they were. they're not allowed in the public unless its their body. I don'y think anyone truly knows if they've messed up so bad or Diavolo. just. just wanted them to work for him. cause theyre pretty perhaps?
And Barbatos is here to grant any of the young Lord's wishes.
*I still haven't thought of why Dia would be so damn busy I may even remove that part but its cool to think about. maybe he is still learning and chose Barb to do such things cause Barbatos knows all, and is trustable. idk really. but we know Dia is a spoiled brat so ?? maybe thats whats happening.
I really have to agree, there's no way Barbatos maintains that huge place by himself, demon or not. I've always headcanoned that he has a whole crew of helpers and guards and so on.
I also imagine the castle's kitchen to be absolutely ginormous. And he probably has a whole crew of cooks, too.
I like to think most of them don't live at the castle, though. Like they just work there and come and go and have varying shifts. Uhh but that's if they're just normal people and not criminals lol!
I suppose whether or not they actually did something terrible has to do with how deranged you want Diavolo to be. Like if he was really kinda off the deep end, he could absolutely just obtain people he thinks are pretty and for no other reason. That's real villain behavior generally speaking. But if you want him to be a little less that way, you could say they were criminals. Then at least there's a legit reason for it, even if the punishment is a bit intense... they are demons, so really there's a lot of ways you can go with it!
As for Diavolo being busy, I'm pretty sure it's canon that he is. I suspect it has to do with all of the crap that comes with ruling a kingdom. Paperwork, diplomatic meetings, making appearances at various functions, consulting with experts on things like constructions projects and the economy, and if Diavolo also has his own company in the human world, he likely needs to make appearances at meetings there, too... I'm just saying his canon job is extremely demanding. And then add RAD stuff to all that? Sheesh.
But this is one of the best parts of the castle stuff - they don't really get into a lot of detail about it. So you get to fill in all the details however you like!
#anyway these are just my thoughts lol#obey me#obey me barbatos#obey me diavolo#expressionless-fr#cc mutuals#misc answers

thinking back now in nostalgic recollection of my times on amino, i wont share who i once was, i wont say where i was popular, but back then it was shockingly easy to become a popular artist on there, it was so cool being a part of a community, and how when you really put in a lot of effort other people could submit your art to be featured, and how everyone was so much more interactive since they were like ya know, grouped by fandom and or group
it was so fun fighting for the number one spot on the leaderboard its where i spent my earliest years of drawing...
its so strange being here on tumblr as some rando with a small handful of buddies who interact with me.
one funny thing is once you get popular enough people stop talking to you except the occasional really excited person whos *really* eager to talk to you (its so sweet...) but like everyone else is just...weirdly distant-
its a little like how i am now, but now its quiet because im so unpopular! its so neat seeing how much it changes, i wonder if it differs depending on the platform how popular people are treated? i love studying the like, psychological side of things. I dont think im likely to ever find out, but if anyone popular on here has some insight id love to hear your experiences with it, or how you felt on other sites, or people who were previously popular other places but find it really quiet here, etc.
though i would like to add a random note: while i may have had a few thousand followers on amino- they have a SERIOUS bot problem, i would be INCREDIBLY unsurprised if over half if not more of my followers were actually bots, i dont think that exactly counts as true popularity, but regardless other people viewed it as the same thing as genuine popularity and as such, treated me accordingly, i also managed to reach the top of one of the leaderboards, mostly by posting agressively- which probably helped matters. It was a very different system than most sites and i assure you i do not expect any sort of clout over it and frankly id rather not draw the attention of certain people from that time in my life who were...weird toward me in a way that made me uncomfortable and thus i will be keeping most details of it private. im happy to answer most questions if anyone has any especially on if i think amino is a good site or not to hang out on for artists but nothing revealing please , for my sense of safety and comfort-thank you-
on that note i do not suggest joining amino if you're a child, though i left in part because it is frankly, mostly children, ive had personal experiences (and so have my friends) with people who were very dangerous toward children on there though im not entirely sure if they knew i was a child regardless they pushed my boundaries in a very uncomfortable way and this was a VERY common complaint about amino when i was younger) I think it was a fun site and all, and with the right safety rules it was MOSTLY safe, but a LARGE part of why i wasnt as badly affected as some of my friends is because i was better at setting boundaries and I knew what was and wasnt appropriate and i blocked people that made me uncomfortable and my mom was careful to teach me internet safety rules. A lot of my friends didn't have that security and safety let alone parents they could tell comfortably "this person is making me uncomfortable and i need help from an adult"
so please do not take this as a reason to join amino ESPECIALLY if you are underage even though i know most of the userbase is quite young, it does not have safety protections in place for these children and its scary stuff. and remember to please trust the internet safety rules, i know it can be kind of annoying to have rules, but straight up ive had to scold my younger friends for randomly doxxing themselves to me and it scares the frick out of me that people would just tell me where they go to school-which yes is also doxxing yourself dONT DO THAT PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU- no im not mad at you or scolding you JUST FREAKING WORRIED OKAY theres some really dangerous people who might have hurt me when i was younger if i Hadn't known better!!! and dont ask for that information of other people please! or share your real name! do! not! but im getting derailed now-and IF YOURE ONE OF MY FRIENDS
I LOVE YOU BUT I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THAT INFORMATION PLEASE KEEP IT TO YOURSELF OR I AM GOING MOMMA MODE AND YOU ARE GETTING A LECTURE, EVEN IF YOURE NOT A CHILD I WILL SCOLD YOU- YES IM AWARE IM MILDLY A HIPOCRATE AS SOME OF MY (NOTE: **ADULT FRIENDS WHO ARE CAPABLE OF DRIVING AND MAKING CHOICES FOR THEMSELVES AND VOTE AND STUFF AND THEREFORE, ARE OLD ENOUGH TO MAKE SUCH DRASTIC DECISIONS AND GRASP THE DANGERS OF IT AND KNOW THE SAFETY RULES AND I HAVE KNOWN FOR MANY MANY YEARS TO BUILD THIS LEVEL OF TRUST**) FRIENDS HAVE COME TO VISIT ME , BUT THAT WAS STILL A VERY CAREFULLY DONE PROCESS AND THERES A LOT OF RULES YOU SHOULD FOLLOW WHEN DOING THAT, JUST FOR THE RECORD, YOU KNOW, SO YOU DONT GET SERIAL KILLERED OR SOMETHING ELSE HORRIBLE- i love you please stay safe- please do not just assume im not a serial killer, i didint even trust that nightowl and person werent serial killers untill theyd visited me at least once and did not do any serial killing
uhh i honestly kind of lost my train of thought and forgot what i was writing about this is just a ramble, toodloo stay safe ya little gremlins and remember popularity means nothing its just a random thing that happens to people sometimes, and is rarely based in pure skill alone and stuff, stay hydrated ,and maybe do some stretches or something or your bones will get all crunchy and pop rocky if you dont, love you guys!

A reminder to new folks because I feel I need to say this. It's a few specific rules and more of a 'this is how i roleplay' thing. It kinda got away from me fast but alas, I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable for any reason so I just said what I feel i need to say to make that happen.
My muse is mean. It's usually nothing personal but he is Mean if provoked. There is a line and it is Thin.
This extends to his friends, mostly as a show of ease around them and as jokes, its just how he is. a little jokey joke. he says things without thinking and sometimes that leads to misunderstanding or an otherwise "cruel" comment. He normally doesnt mean it like that (unless he does)
this account is like 80% crack. i am here to have fun and be silly. if you take me seriously and get offended by it then I'm sorry but frankly, I have stated this many, many times. I do roleplay serious stuff, I do focus on a little bit of storytelling every once in a while, but for the most part I am silly and quirky. My portrayal won't always be 100% ic, sometimes a little ooc is healthy, for the bit. I stay committed to the bit, always.
Of course. if he's mean to your muse and you don't like it then you can let me know and I'll tone it down. I'll never be an asshole to people I dont know are 100% down to it or who aren't familiar with how my muse acts. However, sometimes being mean is in character with my muse and theres no other way around it. But the more intense, "i want to cause psychic damage" convos I will always ask if its okay for my muse to go hard on yours.
Rodimus is aware of the multiverse. This does not mean he's aware of the history of each multiverse. He may be aware of them, briefly, but he is really not going to dwell on it much and if you expect him to know it he just. wont. He doesn't really care all that much. This is also to say that he may confuse your muse for someone in his crew because of looking alike, and will treat you as such unless proven otherwise.
There are no people who are "canon" to Rodimus' crew, not at the moment. The only ones who I can say with confidence who are in his crew are @weavingmemoir and @stealthfeline, who are also my muses. This is for practicality. If your muse is part of the Lost Light crew in general, though (brainstorm, whirl, megatron, etc) you can respond to my lost light posts as if you were a member of his crew, I dont really mind. Like I said: commitment to the bit, always. The bit is always funnier when more people join.
Don't pretend like your muse knows mine and vice versa without talking to me first. This is mostly about muses outside G1 and IDW, or even people in IDW that Rodimus never really met, as well as OCs. It isn't really towards muses who HAVE interacted with Rodimus at least a few times. It is Awkward having to figure that out, and I'm not particularly a fan of having to dig around for people's relationships to understand what's going on between your muse and mine.
I don't really care if your muse is banging another Rodimus, or anyone else from his crew. Like I genuinely do not care, and neither does he.
I'll always make adjustments if you ask me to. I'll create new verses to fit with your muse, but that requires communication first and foremost. This also goes for events, if you want in on an event just talk to me and we'll see about it together. My events are never 100% thought out because I like leaving space for other participants to have a say in what happens. I just think its fun, like a group project (but less stressful)
When interacting with me I ask to lay off on the quirky colors and varying different fonts in one single reply. I have a lot of difficulty reading things like that and it strains my vision and it gives me a headache. Just, always have the same font throughout, and if there are different fonts, please let them be at least readable. The standard tumblr fonts are fine, except 'lucille', and the small font tends to me specially frustrating sometimes.
This is a g1/idw based blog. I take stuff i like from g1 and stuff i like from idw and i slam it together until I have something I like. Rodimus does not like the prime title, he does not miss being a prime, and he absolutely does not appreciate being called one, unless its doing things for his ego or to make himself look greater than he is. He is an Ass.
#ooc / misty forest#long post i guess.#goooooooooood afternoon everypony i yam going to go back to drawing art trades LOL bye

"If you can make your own destiny, so can we."
Power Rangers Time Force was the 9th season of Power Rangers produced by Saban and ran from February 3rd to November 17th, 2001.
I mention this because I think it’s important to remember that the War On Terror was just getting its boots on the ground when the finale of a children’s action show ended in peace and regret rather than a big robot spectacle.
Normally a lot of the drawing points for a PR series is the Zords, the costumes, and the cool gear they get along the way, and sure, Time Force has a ton of that. It’s all decent bait designed to make kids buy toys, but this season didn’t impress me a lot. (With exception to the Quantum Ranger and the Q-Rex, that fucks.)
No, the best thing about Time Force is that this season has so much heart and isn’t afraid to have a few laughs as well.
The Movie-Director mutant doing a bit about producers ruining things after the main villain pushes for his daughter to be in the movie.
The same main villain being protective and sweet to the Blue Ranger when they mistakenly think he has a crush on his daughter.
There's more than a few times the series embraces it’s goofy premise and it elevates the episodes.
The other side of the coin there is how serious the content and subplots of the show can be. From the jump it’s a story about how a minority group (mutants) weren’t being taken care of in their world, which pushed them into desperation, crime, and hate. Then that hate compounds itself with the addition of robots and the origin of the secondary villain of the series.
The cycle continues over and over in the show, with multiple episodes convincing characters to set aside some bias, until in the finale of the show, after injuring and nearly killing his daughter and a human baby, Ransik sees the error of his ways, and turns himself in. No bloody conclusion, no screen filling explosion, just penance.
The Time Force Rangers aren’t immune to life lessons either.
Jen, The Pink Ranger, is the de facto leader of the group at first, and is driven on this mission to capture Ransik after the supposed death of her fiancé, the first Red Ranger Alex.
Wes is Alex’s ancestor, is some rich kid who’s dissatisfied with his father’s plan for him, and so when Jen and Wes meet, Jen is so full of grief that she hates him. Over the course of the series we see Jen loosen up a bit and learn to love Wes for who he is, and realize that Alex is too married to the rules for her. (Alex is alive btw don’t worry about it).
Wes struggles with earning his father’s love, but forges ahead on his path to do the right thing, regardless of the financial cost. We see him struggle with pre-determination, and fight to choose his own destiny rather than follow the easy road laid out before him.
His father, Mr. Collins, goes from a greedy slimeball millionaire CEO to a proud, loving father, who is willing to search all night in a disaster to find his son, and learns the value of helping people along the way. We meet Eric, a foil to Wes who struggled to get to where he was and resents him for growing up in privilege, and the best part is that they never really just let him suddenly be cool with everyone. He’s the antihero for most of the series, and even in the finale states outright why he’s had a problem with Wes the whole time. We see him soften and work towards having peace with the others, but he’s never fully just part of the team like Tommy or the Titanium Ranger before him.
The rest of the rangers are fairly flat characters who might learn a small lesson here or there, but are mostly around to help people.
A big exception to this is Trip, the Green Ranger, an alien who in the series deals with self doubt and being treated differently because of his race, and defends a mutant who doesn’t want to fight from the Quantum Ranger.
Most of these characters have some level of depth and motivation, and although we got a bit less from the villains in the season, how we see the characters grow makes up for that.
Time Force is copaganda for sure, but it exists in a fictional world where billionaires can change into loving fathers, private military forces can become public and used to help people, and the good guys always catch the bad guys. Sometimes it’s nice to visit that world.
