I’m on holidays by the river, finally reading “only the brave” by the amazing @solmussa for the first time, I just finished the “heartbreak” chapter and when I’m telling you I needed to get up and go hug someone because of the amount of sadness and despair I’m feeling right now……..

I just want to hold james, sirius and reg and tell them everything’s going to be fine eventually, I want to tell them to read reg’s pov desperately, but I can’t

One shot I wrote three years ago now, that was too little to do anything with and I didn't want to expand in any way; Regulus Black and Lily Evans friendship, smoking

"I think if James was to date anyone else, it would be you," Lily said, blowing a ring up into the night sky.

"Why do you say that?" Regulus asked, head pressed against hers.

"Just that he completes everything you aren't, and you complete everything he isn't. With him and me it's like we're constantly fighting to work with each other," she sighed.

"Like you're going through life parallel to each other?" Regulus asked, taking the blunt off her.

"Yeah, and with you two, you and James, it's like you could combine and grow together."

"Oh."

"It makes me incredibly jealous. Like I can see that my boyfriend has a perfect match and it isn't me, and sometimes I don't even think I would mind if he left me for you. I see him watching you sometimes," she said, exhaling and then reaching to Regulus for the blunt into where the smoke was twisting around his face.

"You're just so much better suited together than me and him, especially in the long run. If you liked him he would run to you, you know."

"That's not true Lily," Regulus spluttered.

"Oh Reg, yes it is. Sorry I shouldn't have said anything, it isn't fair to you to have to deal with James's feelings when you don't even like him."

"I, I think I might do, I don't know, I'm sorry I'm so sorry," he whispered to her.

"Then take him. Oh Regulus I can't bear to break him but if you want him then take him," she whispered back, taking another hit from the blunt.

"Lily I can't do that, I can't do that to him I can't do that to you, I- you love him."

"Regulus, yes I love him, obviously I do. But I'm gay. I'm gay and I'm with the most perfect boy in the world and how could I dare break him open with this when I love him, but if you had him, he would never be broken at all."

"Lily you can't say that, you can't justify your own sorrow by his happiness."

"Oh I decided I would a long time ago," she smiled at him, and then the door opened to the room that they were sitting at the window of, "Hey James."

"Hey you two, how's my baby doing? I'm here to take you home if I can manage to pry you away from each other," he announced smiling.

"Reg has been perfect, he's my favourite smoking partner by far, see you again same time next week?"

"You know it Evans," he said, standing up and flinging himself onto James, pressing a kiss onto his cheek.

The two walked away together, giggling like teenagers and Lily knew that they'd have the same conversion next week, the week after and every week thereafter. It always ended like this, no matter how much time had passed, they always had the same conversation they had had that very night and every time it felt like they were there again.

Hello, I am 24 and I enjoy writing literate or novella length replies. I try to reply at least once a day and I speak OOC or in a plotting channel a few times a day because I really enjoy the plotting process. I tend to like planning out my plots before I write and that can take a bit of time before actually starting the Roleplay. Minors do not interact. All characters and writers must be 18+

I do not write smut with my characters typically, I am fine with adult themes in my stories but I tend to prefer fading to black. I don’t have any triggers that I can think of off of the top of my head and am willing to write angst to your heart’s content.

My account recently got unshadowbanned so I’m really excited to write again and am sorry if you attempted to reach out and didn’t get a response.

james parents were actually a nice loving couple. people would used to get surprise by the amount of love james got as a kid. talking about grades, his parents wanted for him to enjoy and learn not only get good marks. they also had the money so they’d buy james and his friends a lot of things. neither effi or monty screamed at their son, they were in love and they loved james.

james wanted so bad to have his own kid to give the same love he received. but he died without getting to know his son.
