“This is stupid,” Peter murmured, staring at his star chart and wrinkling his nose angrily. “When will we ever have to use this in life?”

Both Remus and James exchanged nervous looks, but nobody said a word.

“Sirius, what’s this one? In the Leo constellation?” Peter asked after a minute, pointing to his paper.

But two voices spoke up at the same time.

“Regulus.”

Three pairs of eyes turned to stare at James, who was slowly turning bright red. “Prongs…” Sirius said slowly, blinking and pinching his eyebrows together. “How do you know that?”

“Erm…” the Gryffindor shifted awkwardly in his seat, looking like he wanted to disappear into a black hole. “I….secretly love Astronomy?”

But Peter was grinning from ear to ear. “Yeah, he secretly loves something,” he murmured, chuckling while Remus smirked and Sirius gaped.

James in a muggle au would absolutely confront Walburga and Orion, if he sees them it is game over. He’s threatening to burn them to the ground and end their bloodline with the calmest expression on his face

James in a canon au wouldn’t. Not because he wouldn’t want to, no, he wouldn’t because he knows how powerful they are and he’s not stupid enough to endanger himself and his family, Sirius and Regulus included.
