I really needed to draw this with Jason and Roy...

i feel like something that’s not talked about enough in YJ (show) is the amazing plot line of roy (will) being a fucking clone. like oh my god to 13 year old me that was such a fucking plot twist—guarantee if i watched it now it would still be a plot twist to me.

like, wills a clone, he’s handling it terribly (like one would) but he knows he has to find the real roy, he won’t ever stop looking until he finds the real roy. and the heartbreaking part? he’s the only one.

ollie and dinah and dick and basically everyone could not care less about real roy. dick literally said ‘we did the math, we never even met real roy’ and just decided roy wasn’t worth looking for. and, kind of understandably (but also not), ollie gave up. but you know what’s really the worst part? the real icing on the cake? will finds him.

he finds roy.

will has to tell roy that his family, his team, gave up on him. nightwing and artemis and kid flash and them—they’re excused. because why would people who don’t know him look for him? but ollie? dinah? he met them. roy built relationships and partnerships with them and the only person who looked for him was a fucking clone. and not because the clone loved him or missed him, because will had felt guilty for stealing roy’s life.

i’m so sad how that story line kinda fell flat. we could’ve gotten so much more. i wanted to see roy adapting to this, i wanted to see more of will searching for roy. im not even going to lie, i wanted one of them to struggle with addiction. i think roy and wills characters are just so fucking interesting.

imagine a fifth season where real roy meets red hood jason. imagine how well they’d fucking bond. because, i’m not 100% sure but didn’t roy not age? so he’s around jason’s age. and, anyway, you just know those two have so much in common. they both also missed out on so much with being dead and kidnapped. plus, it takes away from the thing most people hate about the jason and roy friendship. in YJ, roy was never friends with dick. dick was friends with will, made it abundantly clear when he stopped looking for roy.

and since YJ’s pretty open to LGBTQ aspects… well i think you know what im implying. i’d be happy either way. jason and roy make good best friends—i really do think they could also make good more than best friends.

so, in conclusion, the roy-will clone storyline was the best fucking thing i’ve ever seen, even if i do wish they expanded on it more. if there’s ever a season five, YJ creators i am begging you make that happen, it’s literally the most incredible opportunity and would be such an amazing friendship (or more than friendship) to develop to show ‘hey real roy’s life isn’t all that shitty!’. of course, as a side plot to the whole wally’s-been-stuck-in-the-speed-force-and-isn’t-actually-dead storyline.

This is in defense of Jason's "hand me down" friends.

I've seen some folks upset that Jason "doesn't have friends of his own" or "gets Dick's hand me down friends" and like. No need to shout you don't have similar aged siblings, my man (kidding, kidding). More seriously: hand me down friends are a thing for some sibling sets.

I adopted the friends that belonged to my older sibling as my older sibling drifted from them. I also watched one of my younger siblings drift from their bestie and that bestie end up another younger sibling's best friend. It just be like that sometimes. That doesn't make a friendship any less important or authentic.

Those younger siblings? Sibling A doesn't actually talk to that once-bestie anymore, besides casually, whole Sibling B talks to them all the time. That's a bit of an extreme (though still a very amicable drifting-away for Sib A and Ex-Bestie), but like. Jason and Roy? They make complete sense to me, both as a Sib that adopted another Sib's old friend and as a Sib that watched other sibs trade friends.

Anyway. Sometimes a sibling drifts away from a friend while another sibling drifts toward them. It happens. Sometimes it's only a bit of drift, sometimes it's a shared custody situation (one of my Sibs and I shared one friend, as a bestie for each of us, for years). Is what it is. But what it isn't is unrealistic or whatever. It also isn't unrealistic for Jason to lose touch with old friends and make new ones, even if those new ones are hand me downs.

the worst possible feeling is when i'm reading a really good fic and then, OUT OF NOWHERE, there's incest. like idgaf if it's only alluded to, put that in your tags?? i just read a jayroy fic, it seemed pretty good at first. i'm about 90% through it and BOOM jason say's he slept with dick when he was robin. like, not only is that incest it's also pedophilia??? dick and jason have like a six year age gap???

i don't care if they're adopted, adoption is still family. literally the whole point of the batfam is that blood isn't the only thing that makes family. imagine your actual sibling starts coming onto you. imagine seeing two people dating and they're siblings, they have the exact same parent(s). this is that. they're the exact same thing.

Scenes from @ahsokajackson’s Redhead’s AU on AO3. The Roy an’ Timmy hug is a direct scene that I myself got to help with in the posted story The Brother On Your Left. The Roy an’ Jay cuddles haven’t happened in public material yet, but I can only imagine all the comfort Roy must have gotten (GLARES AT AUTHOR) after going through something so horrific as detailed partially in the nightmare scene.

I can’t wait for more of this AU. Roy finding sanctuary with the Bats always warms my heart. Mind the tags.

Ever since I found out Jensen Ackles is the voice actor for Jason Todd (Red hood) in Batman: Under The Redhood, Anytime I read something with Jason, I read it in Jensen’s voice😭

And then I read Roy’s voice in Jared Padaleki’s whenever Roy is panicked or yelling, then I switch back to his VA in Young Justice because it’s so funny

Now I hope all three voices are stuck in your head when you read something with Roy and Jason

2024 ART YEAR BABY!!! 🗣

Overall this year artistically has been so amazing for me, having motivation to post, being back on tumblr once again after i quit thousands of time from backlash. But this has been an honor to meet so many wonderful artists!
