I have. thoughts. about Paris. he's almost got this Troilos parallel in my mind, that the event that defines him in detail exists in a lost narrative that we don't have (the Cypria), but everyone else knew. the event that defines Troilos is his death (murdered, butchered by Achilles, the violence of which haunts everything after. Achilles, child killer, you can't escape that!), and the event that defines Paris is the Judgement. what's a lost text but a kind of grave!!

idk I don't think that Paris before the Judgement would recognize himself after bc when you become god touched, it rearranges your guts. you become transformed in the worst way possible! how could you recognize yourself! but I also think that all the Parises after the Judgement would recognize each other because that event is so locked into the trauma of war and the scar it leaves on the land, it's like a scar on the narrative too. it exists like this forever, over and over again, so you exist like that forever too. Can we take a moment to appreciate the way that S2 has paralleled S1 in terms of plot structure?

S1 spent the first six episodes following this back and forth trust issue between Charlie and Babe—fueled both by Way’s manipulations and Charlie’s insistence of keeping his plans secret. You get the idea that something is going on with Tony, but it’s not entirely clear yet. And then in episode 7, Kim uncovers the human trafficking and blows the whole plot open.

And in S2, you have this ongoing trust issue between Charlie and Babe—fueled by Willy’s machinations and Babe’s insistence on keeping his plans secret. We know Tony is up to human experimentation, but his plans are still largely a secret. And now heading into ep 7, we have an idea that he wants Charlie in particular, and then Change2561 drops a mid-season trailer showing all of the fucking plot we’re about to be hit with. The cherry on top for me would be Kim and Kenta digging into the heart of Tony’s plans in ep 7 😌

he's such a sweet, silly, hardworking guy. i love all the clips with him. he reminds me of those super buff gym guys who don't have a super hot temper but they can absolutely get a little too competitive and blow their lid off sometimes. they'll always eventually take a step back, ground themselves, and apologize for overreacting, but they're still gonna wear their heart on their sleeve and i always appreciate guys like that. ouh, also, he's super good at baking for no reason. it's a fact i was there i tried his muffins.

as for ships, i'm gonna be so fr-- all my mogi ships aren't about the relationships-- they're about appreciating mogi. and me personally i feel he is most appreciated when he gets to obliterate a twink. that's usually why i ship him with light (or light and L if you wanna get real freaky. ouh also because obliterating light's twink ass is always a bonus too but cough who said that). but i like seeing him with anybody who'll treat him right really <33. mogilight just seems like it could have a lot of fluff potential along with smut + maybe angst?? who knows.

my only real gripe with this episode is that I'm not a big fan with how they made alys and helaena the "back to the future" type of seer or witch who do things like tell daemon and aemond explicitly how they will die or have them see centuries into the future like watching a reels youtube clip. i liked it better when the realm between mysticism and reality was more blurred, and visions could have multiple meanings, or even no meaning at all. and it was the characters who decide what to believe or not believe. instead I feel like we got the lazier "look into my crystal ball and see your future" kind of magic

since  we're  talking  about  lavenoor,  let  me  just  say  how  ridiculous  it  is  how  she  demands  permission  before  allowing  anyone  to  write  a  fanfic  based  on  her  idea,  while  showing  zero  interest  whatsoever  in  the  original  source  material.

she  complains  about  having  to  gut  each  of  movie's  plot  lines  because  otherwise  the  fanfic  would  be  too  long  (skill  issue),  but  she  hardly  ever  bothers  to

a).  truly  examine  the  films  she’s  writing  about  in  depth.  instead  of  spending  several  seasons  building  a  special  coffin  out  of  a  delicate  material  for  their  daughter-figure  as  a  parallel  to  when  they  first  discovered  her  napping  on  their  beds,  the  seven  dwarfs  just…  have  a  human-sized  expensive  glass  coffin  laying  around.  as  you  do.

b).  replace  the  content  with  anything  as  interesting  or  worthwhile.  this  leads  to  arcs  like  tyrian’s,  where  the  only  black  love  interest  is  cooped  up  in  his  house  taking  care  of  the  mc  while  she  yaps  his  ear  off  about  his  problems.

(character  foils?  metaphors?  subtle  themes  interwoven  into  the  narrative?  what  are  those!  i,  for  one,  enjoy  it  when  the  author  disregards  my  intelligence  and  instead  requires  the  main  character  to  gaze  directly  into  the  camera  and  declare  unequivocally  what  the  core  problem  is.  i’m  an  idiot  who  doesn't  educate  herself  on  societal  issues  or  read  anything  other  than  light  romance  stories,  and  anyone  who  criticizes  her  handling  of  these  topics  is  simply  lashing  out  because  they  feel  attacked.  yep!)
