Kinda random list of things I thought about Kotlc when I was eleven (aka my first time reading them)

My bsf told me Maruca had a cat. I was very disappointed in finding out she did not, in fact, own a cat.

She (my bestie) also gaslit/gaslighted (idk what the term is) me into thinking Marella never manifested after I saw some spoilerific fanart. I can't believe how she managed not to spill it for me until I read nightfall.

She also spilled a lot of stuff way too early. (e.g. chapter42, Biana's scars, Oralie being Sophie's mom)

I shipped Elwin and Livvy.

I had a crush on Jensi

Sophie was my #1 hero

I guessed Oralie was Sophie's bio mom waaaaaaaay before reading Legacy.

I cried when Sophie, Fitz and Biana hug in book one after Sophie found the scroll saying she couldn't be adopted.

I didn't recognize Fitz on the cover of Lodestar and thought they'd meet some new character with a Charger ability.

Linh was my fave until Stellarlune.

I read the last chapters of Stellarlune aloud and nearly SCREAMED when I read the ending. The only reason I stopped myself was because it was like 12 am and everyone else was asleep.

I thought Vespera had a French accent.

What if one of the members of the Original Council was a Pyrokinetic?

We only know one of the three members of the Original Council (OG Council for short). That's Fallon Vacker, and we don't know his ability - only that it's probably not Pyrokinetics, as that would definitely tarnish his reputation further.

But what if one of the other two are?

I know they aren't important to the story, but it could also be why the OG Council isn't mentioned much. Plus, assuming Elf Society is similar to Human Society but just advanced a lot faster, Pyrokinetics would have been really handy. Also, as all three are Ancients (and, according to Fallon in Flashback, the modern-day is "exhausting") it's not like the public would really care after a certain amount of time. That OG councillors aren't coming back. They're not hurting anyone (I don't think Fintan's an OG Councillor, since the only confirmed one is just Fallon). Elfciety doesn't really mind anymore.

That’s all very interesting actually—and all destined to give the matchmakers a heart attack when they realize they chose……each other. They’ll make a very genetically unpredictable and likely extremely powerful child. Is that optimal? Who knows! The matchmaking system is NOT used to dealing with that stuff!

And yeah matchmakers supposedly go through centuries of training for their job, but could that have prepared them for Sokeefe? I don’t think so

They could definitely make sure Keefe doesn’t get with anyone he’s related to and same deal with Sophie IF she finds out who her other biological parent is, but I do think the tampered DNA raises a further issue. How do you use your centuries of “optimizing genetics” training to deal with brand new artificially enhanced/altered genes? They’re definitely used to the only factors influencing someone’s DNA being the genes of their family, so this is a brand new variable. Who knows how they would approach it? It’s an interesting what-if.

It would actually be hilarious for Sokeefe to subject the matchmakers to this all well knowing full well they aren’t waiting for anyone’s permission to be together and are also planning on choosing each other in the end. Just……let them panic. Let the trained and talented elves not know things. It’ll be good for them :)

Y’all why has no one even mentioned the fact that if Sophie is unmatchable bc of her altered DNA, Keefe would be too?
