yesterday I called a show for the first time! It was just a run thru, they didn’t even have costumes or anything and they paused a lot but like I am not trained for this, yet I survived!!! I’m so proud of myself!!

another orv stageplay idea: you could depict the fourth wall (like, when its actually shown, not just the pop up windows) using a scrim that's actually two scrims. kind of like a curtain with a split in the middle, but they're touching/overlapping a bit so its hard to tell from the audience. both halfs would be on the same rig so they'd lift and lower in unison. if you did things right no one would even know there's a split in the middle. and you'd use rear projection to display the pages on it. they could move and show messages, and someone could be "eaten" by the wall as well by passing between.

if you want to take it a step up you could have people in costumes (or weilding big puppetry pieces) that look like a big moving lump of pages. they could rush in like a wave and pull people "into" the wall, to make the wall feel more alive. a projection and some blobby costumes sounds not-so-grand i know, but acting, lighting, effects, music, and a fog machine or two really go a long way.

I love going off the face of the planet for a month because I've had three shows to design in a row.

One a week for the past three weeks this month (essentially two 60hr unpaid work weeks and one lightly paid work week).

Anyways, we open this week's show tomorrow night! Super fun.

Oh, and then I have a FOURTH show to design next week. And then a week to finish and turn in homework and then the end of the school year.

i think it would be cute if e.iko and s.arah exchanged ribbons together, too, like m.og and e.iko especially since m.og and e.iko are sisters. 🥺

also to further cement my delusions, i am taking sarah's commoner dress in w.off and its similarities to g.arnet's outfit as a child in ff.9 to mean that the w.off meant for there to be a connection. also ff.9 devs too. -between both g.arnet and sarah. names, status, birth mother's names, their relationship with e.iko, castle cornelia housing / being an esper/eidolon in the same vein as a.lexandria and a.lexander., r.amuh helping g.arnet and by extension sarah in woff with his granddaughter thanks to l.ightning, proficiency with white magic, ff.9 was also a nice homage to older ff so i think it was also intentional but… yeah. if i wanted to be more delusional than i would also say their relationships with the male main characters and/or villain in their respective games and also kidnapping but idk. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ i'll probably come back to this when i'm done replaying ff.9 for the 901238012983 time. 💪

the problem with having been a theatre kid in highschool isnt like. any of the normal things like my utter lack of normal socialization or any offputting behaviors i picked up. its just that i listen to death note the fucking musical and start going insane about lighting design
