F****** hell
I have no words for it but this is agreeable
i might be a bit of a hater for this but.. i dont like pizzaburger </3 it feels like its just not correct for either of their characters, they hardly know eachother beyond traumatizing incidents. also dont like how the fans make elliot such a hater.

Are you sure?
(that Tae is not third wheeling in Jeju, that is)
Lately I've been noticing that I love to start my posts with "So". And this one will be no different, lol.
So...
youtube
This dropped.
Notice, btw, how this one is called "Are you sure?! Announcement (from Jeju)"? Both 'announcements' filmed in Jeju, so why the difference then?
Maybe this:
Again, if they would have used the word "for USA" and "for Jeju" that would make sense as there being an announcement for each 'chapter' in their travel vlogs. But they clearly used the word "from" and that makes me stop and wonder why they did that, kind of make me think that maybe I wasn't too delusional with that post of mine.
People were all up in arms for Tae calling it "our" show only for it not to be the actual true translation.
Once again, thanks to @haedalkoo for setting things straight.💜
Others upset for this being exactly the same as the teaser clip we got from Jikook telling about their upcoming show.
And I beg to disagree with them on that.
This was them in the announcement 'from the USA":
JK is literally wearing the same outfit, JM changed and with glasses on. So I will risk and say, same day?
And yet, so so different.
It's not about them standing in the one and sitting in the other. Possibly a decision made to make them feel more comfortable in the situation seeing that it appeared to me they weren't so much.
But even when it's evident in the first announcement there is a script to follow you see their characters shine through, the playfulness between them, the dynamics, the chemistry, the electricity in the air.
While in the second announcement their demeanor is just totally different. STIFF.
Clearly running through the script. No extra them being them.
And that's how you have basically the two saying the same thing in both of these announcement only the first one ending up 1:23 minutes long while the second being 1:03 minutes long.
And do we talk about this?
Tumblr media
JK and JM clearly closer to each other.
Is this JK's doing? Pulling JM just a little bit closer to him? Or Tae being put in the corner for "insisting" to join? Just joking. Or not. Lmao.
I know that there are those that are angry or frustrated about Tae joining, and although I do get you, seeing that we were basically sold the idea of this being just a Jikook show, then being showcased throughout Summer, Autumn and Winter. I too am struggling to understand why this wasn't part of the initial promotions. Why not tell us Tae is joining for the Jeju trip? Wouldn't have made Jikookers any less excited I would think. Why shoot those two announcements both from Jeju? That snippet we got with the two excited:
Tumblr media
This is literally the two of them sitting on those chairs with Tae most likely by their side, Tae cut out.
So why?
I still don't get it. Not fully. I don't think it's about money or streaming. I actually am leaning towards thinking this was what the two of them wanted. In order to cement the fact that this is THEIR SHOW. Their idea. Their execution. Tae is a visitor, a guest, but it's THEIRS.
Anyway, Tae will be with them in Jeju. And it will be VERY interesting to see how this goes down. JK did not seem to be a happy camper in the teaser. Could be a mood. Could be in reaction to something that went down. We do know that he and Tae have that passive-aggressive energy to their interactions at times. JM's eyeroll in that moment was everything to me, lol.
We got these just now too:
Tumblr media
and
Tumblr media
You know I am always honest with you guys. And this is not going to be any different. At the end of the day, yes, I might have been disappointed that this isn't only theirs, that we weren't going to get to see them together, just the two of them in Jeju, a place we know they are so familiar with and that they both love so much. You know, without a buffer. But then, we are still getting Jikook. And I do believe that even with that buffer, or perhaps maybe because of said buffer, we might get some very interesting and insightful moments from this joint trip to Jeju. Eye opening to some (those that have had problems reading the room since forever).

Been thinking about HC fan discussion shifting over the last few years to become more focused on individual creators, and I think the reduced prominence of the Recap could be a contributing factor?
Speaking from my own experience as having gotten into HC in Season 6 along with Grian, I started watching Recap from the S6 Day One video (I was already familiar with the concept thanks to Evo in a Nutshell, which was openly inspired by HC Recap, so it was easy for me to get into), and it was really formative for getting to know all the hermits and HC in general.
I think it ties into what you said about engaging with the server as a whole, because even if you don't watch every hermit, with Recap you get to learn their names, hear their voices, and get exposed to their personality, projects, interests, and running jokes. It presented HC as an interconnected community, where all the hermits came together to create a collective art piece (the server itself). That sense of community has always been one of my favourite things about HC tbh
Recap also made it much easier for me to get into new hermits throughout s6/s7, bc I was already loosely familiar with who they were and what they were doing, so I could jump in midway through their season, or watch a one-off episode, without being too lost!
Meanwhile, with lots of people getting into HC through Life Series (and likely not being exposed to Recap), I think it's easy for people to just... stick with people they already know? And I don't blame anyone for watching people they like (time/energy for videos is limited, and plenty of my favourites are in Life Series too), but it also feels bad to see the work of so many hermits go unappreciated in their own community, especially when there was more of an effort to include them in the past :(
We need a new wave of Recap appreciation posts I think
I think this is very true. Lots of people just regurgitate Life series povs to people asking on the Reddit who to watch when you could just do Recap and didn’t they make a whole flowchart of who to watch? (Outdated but still a useful reference)
Unironically we need to bring back 2021 level of propaganda. Like whole posts on Hermitcraft propaganda that introduce all the listed hermits and their uniqueness. Sure, everyone has preferences, but they brand themselves as a server, so we should also brand them as a server. I do find it realllyyyyy weird that this phenomenon got worse after HC9 when HC9 had TCG (includes all hermits and “quirks” about them) and Decked Out (huge event that involved many hermits, including non Lifers). The hermits are literally producing merch as a server. It’s a game that appreciates each of them. The audience loves TCG too so ?? ??????
Another thing is that for me, sometimes I feel like I’m yelling into the void with my posts so I end up in a circle of people who main the same people (since we interact and talk to each other) and I don’t have the energy to do more because again, yelling into the void sucks. So I’m also part of the “problem”.

I don't know how much I can reasonably lean into the weird-fae-creature bit before it becomes unhealthy, but I do find a lot of familiarity and comfort in it.
First and foremost, it's liberating to deliberately identify with something that by definition isn't human. I don't have to concern myself with unreasonable standards if I'm not something in their jurisdiction. So what if I'm weird, so what if people will stare, they did that anyway.
Secondly, it's an indelible tie to my family's history in Ireland. Our modern understanding of the fae is a complex subject, but a lot of it originates in Irish folklore and the sidhe, as well as it its historical interaction with Christianity. Having never even set foot in Ireland myself, a second-generation immigrant (assuming zero-indexing, because of course I am) raised entirely outside of that culture, that's deeply meaningful. It means I'm carrying something from the island with me every day and encourages me to learn more about it.
Thirdly, it's predictive. Fae being repelled by iron is a myth, but the fae are tied in with a lot of ideas about naturalism and anti-industrialism. So in a nutshell, anything bad for nature is invariably going to cause me problems, which aligns neatly with my circumstances as a multiply-disabled chronically ill person. Green fields and fresh air won't help those circumstances, but they certainly won't make them worse (at least as long as they're reasonably disabled-access). So it gives me a grounded place from which to argue for climate preservation, for wildlife protection, and other things of that ilk. I may be a city kid, but I've always held a deep appreciation for such things, and having that direct tie to them is galvanising.
And lastly, perhaps most importantly, it's just fun. I get to be whimsical, I get to be care-free, I get to look for delight in mundane things, I get to be the clown my little nephews can look bemused at, and I get to take principled stands as a messenger from ancient stories here to humble humankind once again.
I might not literally be a daoine sidhe, but I do like being one. It suits me very well. Perhaps that's reason enough.

Dungeon Meshi Liveblog: Marcille is Not Handling Being In Charge Well
Tumblr media
Yeah, that doesn't sound exactly like Thistle at alllll, Marcille!
.
Tumblr media
[Tolkien fistpumping in the background of the fantasy genre]
We'll know that shit's REALLY bad if Chilchuck ever stops making sarcastic comments.
.
Tumblr media
lol
.
Tumblr media
EYES /weeps
Also I just noticed that Marcille's hair has been down since we reunited with her. She no longer cares about the things she used to, she's openly using dark magic with no concern for the consequences, she's not taking care to manage her own mana... I wonder if the demon already ate her desire to style it?
.
Tumblr media
The Island Lord really is just completely useless, huh. He is NOT getting a role in Laios's new government.
.
Tumblr media
omg I didn't notice when it was in the dungeon, but it's the Sky Snake! Silver Wings that Race Through the Heavens, Marcille's sky snake!!
.
Tumblr media
.
Tumblr media
This IS genuinely creepy. It's easy to forget that this whole adventure so far has happened underground, save for a few scant scenes. But we are about to enter, in effect, the real world...
.
Tumblr media
I remain sooo interested in this secretive paramilitary outfit comprised entirely of conditionally-pardoned criminals who already have their hands dirty with forbidden magic and aristocratic scions from families seeking to prove their loyalty, all of which reports directly to the Queen. Their mere existence is sooo dodgy.
.
AIDGHADFC I DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE LION GAVE MARCILLE HER EVIL GOTH MAKEOVER! I thought she chose that herself... This is worse, actually... (And then it ate her desire to stop.)
.
Tumblr media
You're completely right, Kabru! "They're tripping each other up because you don't know enough about monsters to manage them properly" was exactly Laios's critique of Thistle's dragon horde, too!
Which, I will admit, supports the Elves' position about how incredibly bad it would be if Laios WAS the one leading this army. I do want some good fic about that maybe.
.
Tumblr media
I always really enjoy the trope of, in a big battle or elaborate plan, things will go bad for the whole extended party at once even though their personal dramatic moments are happening completely apart and unrelated to one another - and, conversely, they'll all rally at the same time, too. It's very basic storytelling, an in-canon "coincidence" of timing required for a compelling rhythm of story, and I enjoy it every time.
.
Tumblr media
I'D KNOW THAT WING-HILTED SWORD ANYWHERE!!
.
Tumblr media
I'm going to make a goddamn COLLECTION of every time this woman puts the whole group in Outfits made of other creatures. She should do rabbits next. They deserve to dress like giant dungeon rabbits.
.
Tumblr media
lmaooo
.
Tumblr media
I love when characters say shit like this about their friends. I mean, @ Laios don't underestimate yourself, but actually he does mean "smart" in the sense of "unlikely to get manipulated", so in this case he's right.
.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This, the first panels and then the next 1, was when I was like, "oh, okay, we're going to win." Laios was JUST saying that he couldn't defeat the demon if he didn't understand literally these things about it. Now, Laios understand it as a monster, and Kabru understands it as a person - so we're good. We've cornered it on two angles of 'guys who can kill things with remarkable efficiency if they understand them through their special interest.' We're going to kick this thing's ass. We're going to be okay.
.
Tumblr media
And then we're rewarded with a wink! Kabru trust Laios now!! Truly, life is good.
.
Tumblr media
Lolll at myself, and at this chronic faker. Should've known the Wink(TM) was a lie! The Wink is always a lie, or at least a tease.
It is so fun to watch this boy take charge of situations on sheer merit of quick-thinking, knowing all the factions involved, and confidence in giving commands.
.
Tumblr media
Hot. Obviously, objectively, this is hot. Walking confidently, unafraid and unsurprised, through a corridor of kneeling dragons? Laios, Lord of Monsters, damn fuckin' right.
.
Tumblr media
This really is Laios's interactions with collective humanity in a nutshell. They shun him, disdain and fear him, for what he loves (monsters). "It's all right," he says. "The misunderstanding won't last" - he smothers how angry it makes him. They'll understand eventually, he promises himself. (They never have before, but one day...) But also: he really genuinely does love monsters, and loves to be associated with them, even if the cost IS to not be associated with humanity.
.
Tumblr media
Izutsumi: I could still kick Marcille's ass. I'll kick anyone's ass. I'll kick my own ass.
.
Tumblr media
Laios, King of Monsters: loves every monster except squids and octopi. Those guys just suck.
.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
.
Tumblr media
I love how her shout is almost in the black magic font, even as spoken words. That is her gesture for exploding things. This is what she looked like when she killed Mithrun 20 minutes ago.
.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I connected the dots. I connected them.

It's honestly so funny how the antis claim they have 4 books of foreshadowing, but most e/riel moment is what Azriel has done for other people as well,
Azriel putting his life down to save elain?
He was also ready to die Mor when he was gravely injured and in pain himself,
Azriel offering himself to help elain to the garden?
Offered himself to Feyre to her learn how to fly. And bonus points gave her salve when the training caused her pain.
Azriel laughing? I am sorry Gwyn made him laugh and smile more in one chapter than 4 books combined,
Him having sexual thoughts? He also had them for Mor,
The Azriel potato helping and wait for elain to come scene is literally just followed by Rhys telling Feyre how his mother was mistreated as a reasoning for his actions,
Elain calling his hands pretty and making him blush? Nesta made him blush by hugging him.
So, like is he also the endgame for Mor, Nesta, Feyre and Gwyn?
If you can't pick up on the emotional weight, romantic words and images used in these scenes, or the fact that there are numerous scenes between Elain and Azriel for a reason then I can't help you.
Also, it's very telling ya'll think that a man and woman can't interact without it being about romance which is the Gwynriel ship in a nutshell. Azriel can be a nice person to other women (and not the fuccboi ya'll try to label him as) and be into Elain at the same time. It all comes down to how the scene is worded and described, the actions within, and the way the characters react.
By ya'lls logic, let's invalidate every ship and couple ever.
If you think Elriel is platonic then look to the Elriel BC where they are explicitly not. (I see the they are best buds thing going around again, gotta call up all my guy friends to see if they want to eat me out. As friends.)
I swear ya'll need to the ACOTAR books to be written like this to understand:
Tumblr media
College degree to read these books?? How about a 2nd grade reading level??
Azriel sees Elain.
Azriel likes Elain.
Azriel does nice things for Elain.
Elain sees Azriel.
Elain likes Azriel.
Elain does nice things for Azriel.
Elain and Azriel have feelings for each other.
Elain and Azriel want to fuck.
No amount of trying to invalidate their scenes is gonna make it go away, sorry.

OKAAYY OKAY SOO,,
I recently got into mouthwashing and now that's literally all I can think abt rn ( along with other hyperfixs, dw I didn't forget abt those trust I've been going through a lot of hyperfixs as of late ) and i caved in and finally created an oc!! Meet Antony Lee!!
The doodles are meant to display Antony's relationships but in a nutshell to get the basic idea of how he interacts w the rest of the cast ( I'll probably expand on it in the future w more doodles and such )
But this just might be the only mouthwashing I'll make bc I have so much ideas and lore bits for him so kinda just putting my eggs in one basket and rolling w it
But yeah, def stay tuned for lore🔥🔥
BTW!! Idk if its relevant but please take note that I obv do not support Jimmy's actions but can acknowledge how well he's written as a character / villain,, ty!!
But I'll still poke fun at him regardless

Damon Multi Soulmate AU Masterpost
oh my god i actually did what i said i'd do back in april
Long post, contains general info/background/links for the AU
If you've been following the AU from roughly the start and simply want a list of general questions I've already answered, go to this link here
Main sections are in order: General Idea | Listing Relationships | Tags Used | Rough Account of AU Canon
If any stuff in this contradicts previous posts, assume retcon
◊ General Idea of the AU
So basically this started out as me wanting to put all my favorite Damon ships (plus a couple that just my mutuals like because I can see the vision) into one big mess since I inter-ship a bunch of them with each other as well (casseva, ulywolf, jettskii, etc). And the best idea in my head was "Soulmate AU, because...you gotta interact with them at least a little since you're tethered by god/fate/me, Mr. Maitsu."
I might be fucking up my words here, but stay with me. The intent when I first made it was "while I personally like these ships, I should leave it up to anyone interested if they want the ships to be romantic or platonic because I have zero romance experience and negative polyamorous experience. I feel they'd all get along, but balancing 9 romantic partners seems daunting in my opinion." And I figured the best way to showcase that was adding the concept of platonic soulmates and making Toshiko one since I liked her sibling-like banter with Damon.
And while I have leaned into the romantic aspect with the age-appropriate characters because, again I chose them because I like those Damon ships, the soulmate bond is not a tool for romance, but a tool for connection. In a nutshell, it's the crutch that makes up for Damon completely fucking it up in the prologue's post-trial scene so they start on slightly better terms since "you're my soulmate, surely you can't be that bad" but any actual love blossoms from them putting the effort into it
You are completely free to make your own version of this AU in whatever medium suits you best. Honestly, I'm cool if you wanted to add/remove people, if you made only one romantic and the rest platonic, or even if you just took the one person you personally ship with Damon and just had them as a single soulmate pair. The only things I ask are that you send me a link so I can see it, and, while I don't like needing to say it I'd rather cover all my bases here and now, I do not support any depictions of my AU that include minors being romantically shipped with anyone 3+ years older than them. Ex: Diana/Ulysses=👍, Diana/Jett=👎, Toshiko/Anyone=get off my blog and please sign up for therapy. While I believe in the people genuinely interested in my AU, I'd rather say it so there's no doubts than have accusations thrown at me because of someone else's actions.
◊ So, like, who's with who?
Here and here are the descriptions for the soulmarks between Damon and his direct soulmates. I don't wanna write down the soulmarks for everyone else, so feel free to reuse or generate whatever you want.
Written as CharacterA+CharacterB+... when everyone involved in the chain are soulmates with each other
◊ Soulmates, Romantic
Damon+Kai+Mark+Jett
Damon+Wolfgang
Wolfgang+Grace
Damon+Desmond
Desmond+Eloise
Damon+Ulysses
Ulysses+Wenona
Damon+Diana
◊ Soulmates, Ambiguous (your guess is as good as mine)
Damon+Cassidy+Eva
Jean+Kai
Jean+Cassidy
Cassidy+Wenona
◊ Soulmates, Strictly Platonic
Damon+Toshiko
Jean+Diana
Toshiko+Ingrid
◊ Not Soulmates, have some queerplatonic situationship that may or may not become romantic
Eva+Ulysses
Kai+Diana
Ulysses+Wolfgang
Eva+Diana
Cassidy+Kai
Mark+Diana
Eva+Wolfgang
a bunch more that I probably forgot about, I can see the vision with most ships honestly
While I may write things one way or another based on personal preference, this is how I personally view the whole picture
◊ List of Tags Used (chronological versions)
Damon Multi Soulmate AU = the general tag, literally everything about the AU is under this so you'd be better off filtering out one of the tags listed beneath
◊ Soulmate Bonus Content = a what-if for if Grace, Eloise, Jean, Ingrid, and Wenona were also Damon's soulmates
◊ Multi Soulmate Chaos = basically just silly stuff non-canon to the AU, such as them turning into cats...or kids
◊ Soulmate Killing Game = based on vague ideas from beginning of AU development, will probably think more about it once Chapter 2 releases. Basically, Eva's soulmark is "last words you say to your soulmate" and Wolfgang's is "timer that counts down to your soulmate's death" -> Eva doesn't have that extra bit of trust in Damon + Wolfie doesn't find out about his blackmail -> they both fry (and traumatize Damon even more than canon, yippie!) This also has the consequence of no one finding out about the "everyone's soulmates with at least 1 other person here" thing right away. Whether the soulmate KG continues following canon or not, any surviving soulmates are gonna be so so so toxically codependent on each other by the end😊
◊ Canon-ish Events in Rough Order
for the people who don't wanna scroll thru the main tag, but you're getting the discount SparkNotes version (this is not everything, just the big plot stuff):
Damon's a freak of nature for having 10 soulmates in a world where 3-4 is the average. He finds out about some of them during the prologue but most of them get revealed in Ch1. Eva gets discovered in the boiler->they trust each other just that little bit more. Wolfie's honesty soulmark makes Damon sound even bitchier in his post-prologue-trial speech about talent. The known soulmates are like "wtf man" and teach Damon how to not be a jackass with some success. Kai gets discovered after they bunk, "and they were roommates (ohmygod they were roommates)"
Ch1 timeline is extended to allow for more FTEs and bonding.
Tozu releases blackmail. Eva & Damon share theirs with each other, & Eva prepares to murder. Cassidy suggests gaming tournament and weedles Damon into helping. Wolfgang FTE except oops, the honesty soulmark causes Damon to reveal he has WG's blackmail. Slowburn angsty hurt/comfort Akiretsu starts here. WG does a 180 on his treatment of Damon to everyone else's confusion, and Evamon divorce arc also starts once WG shares the fake letter with Damon. Damon goes to help Cassidy, falls on his face, and finds out about Jett & Mark.
Eva's murder plan gets foiled, and Damon takes the traitor perk to try & find an escape. Tozu goes "bitch you thought" and has Mara 360 no scope him. Damon coma arc for like a week or so, and everyone not already in the know finds out what AU they're in. Somehow jettmon is among the most developed so far. Obviously no one wants their soulmate to die (either from murder or execution), so everyone just kinda chills with each other for the next few weeks while Damon recovers. Eventually rescue comes, Damon gets held hostage by Tozu (call him Damsel cuz he's in distress), and the strong people go back in to beat Tozu with a metal pipe (and save Damon I guess). Day is saved, confetti noises, Cassidy gets away with punching a cop.
Like, realistically everyone's got lives outside of each other and the KG, but in my head I've just been imagining Wenona buying one of those huge apartment complexes. Not everyone lives there on a permanent basis, but everyone's got a private apartment to themselves for whenever they stay over on top of the communal areas (basically imagining a bigger version of their canon living conditions lol).
Because of some little things like "killing game" and "first proven record of someone with more than 6 soulmates," the press's eyes are on them more than normal for the next few years. If he's still alive and not in jail, maybe Wolfgang's dad decides to fuck around and find out. Other than that, it's mostly open-ended at this point.
Like, I obviously didn't link everything because that's what the main tag is for, but should have all the big story beats.

A nutshell summary: since we had crossover/interactions of G1 Ironhold, TFP/RID Ophelia, & LL Fearless. What if Ironhold & Ophelia & their conjunxes (Rumble & Steve) meet Alabaster Lapis (Fearless' crush)?
Also what do you think if there is a TFA versions of Rumble, Steve, & Alabaster Lapis (for the TFA Ironhold, Ophelia, Fearless)?
In a nutshell...
I already have a request for the first part in the works coming soon, so I'll skip that one for now.
Now TFA on the other hand... Y E S!
TFA Rumble is one of Soundwave's cassettes. The mini literally ran into Ironhold's pede when they first met and tried to fight them. It becomes a regular thing between the two with teasing and fun bickering.
TFA Steve was a vechicon brought in through the groundbrigde experiment. He landed rather graceless on his face in front of Ophelia who was just moving some crates around. Steve had heart optics on the mini when she grabbed his servo and took him to the med bay. He is by her side and willing to do whatever she needs him to do. Steve is whipped for her.
TFA Alabaster was an old food truck brought to life by the Allspark shard. He was wandering around until he met Fearless, who took him to the Cons base. The food truck bot follows the little human like a lost puppy.

re: 'khaos reigns'
i have SO much to say about it lol but i'm still gathering my thoughts. all i know for sure is : even though the bar (in regards to quality of story and characterization) was on the floor, i am still, yet again, extremely disappointed !
(rant/review/spoilers below. will maybe add to this, but also maybe not. just purging some of my thoughts lol)
in a nutshell,
the way liu kang, kuai liang, cyrax, sektor and bi-han's characters were all deviously misrepresented was just appalling.
kuai liang is depicted as heartless, arrogant and temperamental. posturing as a 'grandmaster' even though he's done nothing but usurp authority by establishing a 'clan of his own' and pointing the finger at everybody but himself. lecturing cyrax about honour... pfft.
liu kang is strangely unforgiving and not very compassionate (he was literally more gracious in how he handled shang tsung/quan chi over bi-han?? like what??) not to mention his lack of urgency with dispatching of havik and rescuing geras. instead of extending some authentic benevolence to bi-han, he instead goads and chastises him after his transformation, and fails to elaborate further when they have their brief interaction regarding his hopes for a different future. the miscommunication between them -- in other words -- continues to be infuriating.
sektor doing nothing but being comically op and fawning over bi-han every three seconds is so all over the place, like they couldn't decide or couldn't find a nuanced balance in her persona (an issue with many characters, it seems...). while i thought she was the most accurately characterized out of all of these major players, her defining traits such as her obsession with the cyber initiative and boosting the lin kuei's position are not made so clear in the actual story? instead the writers chose to focus on her over-the-top, one-sided adulation toward bi-han. it makes her so hard to take seriously as a threat or as the next acting-grandmaster. another storytelling fail!
cyrax starts off the dlc defiantly, standing up for what she believes in and deciding to help the shirai ryu, yet during the rest of the story, she has no agency and just follows kuai around profusely apologizing for something she didn't even do (and kuai was relishing in that shift of power.... gross.)
and bi-han... i think that situation speaks for itself. missing chunks of the leak script and clever editing in the trailers left most of the fanbase baited and switched, and not to mention literally anything could happen next because of the lack of commitment to any of the lore and to even the timeline itself. many of the tower endings contradict much of the intro dialogue and the campaign itself. i guess by introducing alternate timelines and universes so early on, it gives the writers fair game to retcon anything and everything. which, effectively, pulvarizes any meaning for liu kang's 'new era' going forward.
i could keep ranting but, in short: 'khaos reigns' was rushed, boring, full of poor characterization and enough 'macguffins' and 'red herrings' fit for a superhero movie. so many plot holes and loose ends that weren't followed up on (like hello, what's with the hand on noob's hip? and where the hell did titan havik go at the end? was he banished? what about the kamidogu???). there were so many missed opportunities to flesh out preexisting conflicts too, and the pacing of everything from dialogue to the transitions between chapters was completely disjointed. all the characters actions were seemingly shortsighted and many of the decisions made led to nowhere and nothing really changed by the end. nobody went through any real character arc or growth, nobody knows what happened to our over-hyped 'villain of the week,' and the tower endings cancel out the dlc's true ending, essentially making all of it, and none of it, 'canonically accurate.'
it's clear whoever's writing this has no respect or insight for the source material, and is just doing whatever they want: whatever's popular, whatever sells, right? the one thing about a multiverse story is, you can keep that going forever. the possibilities are endless, and if they don't like something... it can be changed with a snap of the finger. kind of reminds me of one of supernatural's awful later seasons, or destiny 2's "shadowkeep" expansion. 'khaos reigns' comes across as a shoehorned seasonal narrative that exists solely to sell noob, cyrax and sektor and little else.
oh yeah, and the future dlc's that are sure to come.

I swear I'll stop posting about the storyboard now
Tumblr media
Watching the storyboard I realized vanellope and king candy basically don't interact in the movie at all(except from the end when hes trying to beat her with a stick) and it's interesting ig. Like up until that point he technically never hurts her in a direct way, it's all code manipulation and convincing others that she's an outcast, that she should be at best ignored and at worst chased away. And the second he decides to do it himself, when he tries to attack her, he is inmediately found out, did he know vanellope's glitch affected his disguise?
Anyway I find the difference between that and this storyboard where there's a sort of less distant rivalry fun. I wonder what would have happened if he wasn't completely double triple dead, would something like this storyboard be their dynamic in a nutshell? would he have tried to take over again?(probably) would vanellope make fun of him, would she forgive him?(who knows, she forgave the kids that bullied her for 15 years)
Uh, forgor
I originally was gonna cut this clip shorter to compare to mario kart because it's literally the bridge from sweet sweet canyon. Like, I can't be the only one who sees it right? I know ssc is inspired on sugar rush but this part doesn't even appear on the movie so either its a big big coincidence or someone really liked sugar rush...

IDW Rodimus and Optimus’ relationship in a nutshell: Rodimus chose a leader. Not “Optimus chose a protege.” Rodimus has the dominant position here.
IDW Rodimus and Optimus have such a deliciously messy relationship that contains equal measures of positive support and fucking each other up in the most spectacular ways. They respect each other, there’s friendship and admiration and fondness born out of long acquaintance, but once you dig underneath there’s also this current of internalized resentment: Optimus sees in Rodimus the reflection of his own flaws, as well as things he simultaneously dislikes and envies; Rodimus wants to emulate Optimus in terms of accomplishments/veneration but is frustrated by the sheer height of Optimus’ ideals and moral standards. They inconvenience his life, makes Optimus impossible to live up to, which in turn makes him feel morally inadequate because deep down he knows Optimus has the right values and doesn’t like what that says about himself.
The default impression that most people have of their relationship is usually Rodimus hero-worshipping Optimus as the eager-but-naive mentee and the stereotypical “Rodimus Wants Approval, Optimus Frowns in Disappointment”. It’s more complicated than that. To the point where I’d even argue that Rodimus is altogether more comfortable in a leadership role than Optimus is, and more often than not his headstrong personality puts him in the dominant position during their interactions rather then the other way around.
Looking at the major points of their interactions, whenever conflicts occur, it’s usually Rodimus who takes the hard aggressive stance and Optimus ends up backing off. He's not an inexperienced rookie in need of guidance, he's part of the Autobot high command, equal rank to Prowl, outranked only by the Prime. (Screencaps for those panels here) Not that rank is ever a deterrent for Rodimus for anything. He gives advice to Optimus as much as he receives them from him, to which Optimus listens. He also bosses Optimus around sometimes and Optimus never says anything just acts all submissive about it
Long post, so read under cut:
Optimus is someone who, though filled with desire to improve the world, has always looked to others to bring about change. He placed his hopes on Megatron, Shockwave, Zeta, and is betrayed each time, all the while stuck in an unfulfilling career where the lines between right and wrong becomes increasingly blurry until he isn’t even sure if he’s the hero or villain anymore. His heart is good but his stance isn’t firm; he ignores Roller’s warning about Shockwave’s suspicious activities and lets himself be pushed around by Zeta. He’s constantly in action, but it’s always reaction, to either ideas or threats initiated by others. It took Megatron backstabbing him down a hole and the Matrix literally shoving itself into his chest for him to finally step up and lift his own torch.
In contrast, Rodimus took over leadership of the weak and starving of Nyon and was planting bombs to defy the government by himself as a young bot. He’s the one who sought out Orion because he believed him to be different, forced him to look at what the government is doing to its people, and gave him an ultimatum: you either side with us or them.
Tumblr media
The dawn of their meeting. After so many years of wavering uncertainty, Rodimus is the one who finally forces him to choose a side. Rodimus is the catalyst for Orion's denouncement of the old government, though Zeta's insanity nailed the coffin.
When Zeta came, Orion told him to find a way to get everyone out, that he’d buy them time, but Rodimus knew that they were in no condition to evacuate and there was no time, so he didn’t even try. He blew everyone up.
Tumblr media
He made the decision to bomb the entire city of Nyon to thwart Zeta’s vamparc ribbon. He decided that the citizens were better off dead at his hands than Zeta’s, so he killed them himself.
And it wasn't even a spontaneous decision like the usual kind he's famous for making. The bombs around the city were pre-wired as a contingency plan. He'd premeditated this.
Like this guy would have aced the trolley problem. A weaker-willed person - a more self-doubting person - would have quailed at the prospect of taking responsibility for so many deaths. Even if the citizens would have died either way, what right did he have to decide which side they would die for? Who was he to decide the necessity of such a sacrifice? Was there absolutely no other way? Could he not have taken the opportunity to evacuate even a few lives to safety?
—These are questions that Optimus would have asked himself if he'd been in Rodimus’ place. He would have hesitated over the moral dilemma. These questions and moral hang-ups are what forms the essence of his leadership, as both the source of his strength and weakness. He's the kind of person whose response to the trolley problem would be to find some kind of insane (and often self-sacrificial) third option like jumping in front of the trolley. (Not that Rodimus wouldn't have jumped in front of the trolley in a heartbeat if he could, but he's also logical enough to realize when that wouldn't work.) If it had been up to Optimus, he would absolutely not have pressed the detonator.
But he defends Rodimus to Bumblebee, and acknowledges him as a worthy candidate for the Matrix, because he recognizes the necessity of the action, even if he might not agree with it. He tells Rodimus that leadership is making hard choices, that the price is to carry the guilt and loneliness and self-doubt.
Tumblr media
And thus is the heart of their divergence: Optimus views leadership as something to be suffered over, as a burden he is forced to carry because there is no one else to do it. This makes him reluctant, always questioning his own worthiness, second-guessing his decisions, whether his actions are preventing destruction or causing more of it, whether it's right to decide the lives and fates of other people.
Rodimus, on the other hand, is self-absorbed. He actually enjoys being in charge. Not the responsibility or the mundane management part of it, but the "everyone do what I want and what I say goes" part. He has no problems whatsoever with wielding authority over other people. His self-doubt is the kind that's mostly repressed and god forbid other people from criticizing his actions - Ratchet's assessment of his character is spot-on:
Tumblr media
He views leadership as a path to freedom, to steer everyone towards a future that he wants, and while he also feels the guilt deeply when someone dies on his watch, it's always as an aftereffect; it never stops him from taking risks or making the necessary sacrifices without hesitation nor heed to counsel.
Tumblr media
His guilt over the loss of his team on his first time as mission leader does not lead him to caution in future missions. Nor does it prevent him from continuously putting his crew members' lives on the Lost Light in danger.
The Nyon situation is not a one-time occurrence. In Chaos Theory, Rodimus wants to destroy the Kimia facility when it got turned by Galvatron into a weapon, Optimus refuses because there might still be Autobots in there. But Rodimus insists, with the argument that there are also Autobots out here; the sacrifice of a few is needed to ensure the survival of the many.
Tumblr media
And Optimus gives acquiescence. Note that Rodimus also didn't wait for him to agree before taking action.
It's clear that Optimus doesn't like what Rodimus is doing, but allowed it anyway because 1. Rodimus has the initiative, 2. there didn't seem to be a way to save both ends as they have no way of knowing what's happening inside the Kimia facility. Yet it isn't a decision that Optimus makes voluntarily. Again it's Rodimus who makes that call, Rodimus who makes the hard choice, while Optimus, the undisputed leader of the Autobots and the high commander of an army for four million years in war, is dithering over innocent Autobots and lost lives and morality issues and what ifs. The same source of compassion that makes him hesitate probably looks down upon Rodimus in judgement, but the leader part of Optimus, the logical part that ultimately allows Kimia to be destroyed because he knows it to be necessary, probably also envies him for his ruthless resolution.
(Also he's extremely competent in this issue, like this scene here)
In part Optimus' judgement is true; Rodimus is able to make these sorts of decisions because he does have less moral scruples than Optimus. Which is normal, as Optimus sets a ridiculously high bar. But when that high bar gets too inconveniencing, past Rodimus’ ability to understand or tolerate, he doesn't hesitate to put his foot down and lash out in accusation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He literally bullies Optimus into letting him lead a rescue mission into what's obviously a trap (hence why Optimus was reluctant to send the mission in the first place). Optimus gives in to his demands without saying anything to defend himself. Then Rodimus proceeds to ignore every single word of warning from Optimus about keeping the mission clandestine, overrides Ironhide who Optimus sent to watch over him - "It's my mission, I'm in charge," barges in the front door straight into the trap, and gets Ironhide killed.
More detailed post about the event here.
By this point Optimus is already grieved by the toll of destruction the war took on both the Autobot forces and Earth, hiding from the humans and unable to help. Ironhide's death is the last straw.
Tumblr media
The red text box is Optimus. He takes full responsibility for Ironhide's death, thinks he failed in his leadership, and resigns as prime to surrender himself to the humans.
Rodimus, who's the one actually responsible for the whole catastrophe, doesn't say a peep during Optimus' resignation speech. Then this 🔽 is his reaction:
Tumblr media
Like wow. Cold much? Someone just died because of you. Someone else just took the fall for your mistake. They were your friends. But all Rodimus cares about is now we can finally get out of here no one's gonna stop me.
Optimus' surrender is a culmination of events, but this is still the breaking point. Of which again Rodimus is the catalyst. All the Autobots were dismayed by Optimus' decision, but Rodimus was the only one who had solid reason to talk him out if it, if he so chose. He only needed to step up and take responsibility for his own actions. Even if Optimus' mind had been made up, he could still have alleviated his guilt, or at least shared the burden of it. But he stays silent and scoffs at Optimus afterwards for freaking out.
It's not that he doesn’t feel guilty. It’s not that he doesn’t care. The first thing he does when he sees a revived Ironhide is to apologize. But right here right now, all he can think about is leaving the planet. Everything else is low priority. As for Optimus' emotional state? Other People's Feelings have always been a nonexistent point for him. (i.e his treatment of spotlight Trailbreaker and Red Alert). He can be extremely insightful at reading people and has a knack for knowing exactly the right words to say if he applies his mind to it, but callousness seems to be the default setting.
Tumblr media
He wants to leave, so he's going to leave. He doesn't bother himself with the predicaments of those who choose to stay behind. He doesn't look back.
In essence he and Optimus does the exact same thing here. Both abandons the Autobots to do what they think is right, except their decisions are based off very different mindsets. Optimus leaves because of guilt, entrapped by his own morality. He thinks that surrendering himself to the humans is the only way to end the violence. Rodimus leaves because he wants freedom. For him, shedding responsibility is a liberation; he feels guilt but is never encumbered by it.
Tumblr media
Rodimus and obeisance in the same sentence. This is about the only time in the whole series that Rodimus is this level of deferential to Optimus. After getting hit in the face with a combiner-sized mistake that turned everyone against him and which Optimus had to bail him out of, stealing Ultra Magnus’ shuttle, dying, an enlightening revival and bonding session with the Matrix, meeting a bunch of people who were supposed to be dead, and seeing the danger that Cybertron’s in, Hot Rod finally reaches the point of character growth where he officially graduates to Rodimus. Not that he’s any less impatient and unmoving to council as Rodimus, but still. It’s a huge step forward.
Because Rodimus’ behaviour on the Lost Light shows that he’s the type of person who’s very aware of the power of his position and has no scruples about utilizing that power to do what he wants. It’s easy to forget that he’s the top authoritative figure on the ship when you’re looking at his everyday interactions with the crew, he’s friendly, he’s down-to-earth, he’s buddy-buddy with everyone, but when he wants something done, either for ego or for the thrills or just because he thinks it’s a good idea, he will get his way and make people do things his way because he knows he has the final say. e.g. Asserting his position over Ironhide and Magnus when they try to question his orders, using Rung as sparkeater bait, ordering Swerve to shoot Fort Max, taking advantage of Chromedome’s injecting abilities, taking his team towards the Necrobot guilt attack (and thus playing into Getaway’s plans), etc. If people dies, he feels terrible, but the burdens of death only weighs on him after the fact - it doesn’t stop him from leading everyone headfirst into danger the next time it comes around.
For him to have held the power of the matrix in his hands but willingly choose to give it back is no small feat. He’d wanted that power all his life. He’d wanted to be Prime. But at this point he’d realized that it isn’t just Optimus’ power and acclaim that he wants, as he later admits in the dead universe - it’s the entirety of Optimus’ ideals, his morality, his decency. He recognizes his own inadequacy when he recognizes those values to be true, but they are things that he cannot ever live up to for himself.
(And also he’s never an actual Prime in this continuity so there’s no reason for Optimus to rename him Rodimus other than an indulgence for Rodimus’ liking of the name.)
Tumblr media
After Megatron surrendered himself in Chaos Theory. Rodimus is the only one in the High Council to directly call Optimus out on his bias towards Megatron.
Rodimus’ account of his Matrix experience:
Tumblr media
Rodimus’ matrix experience What Actually Happened:
Tumblr media
Rodimus just straight-up lied lol. Maybe he did it to cover up his own insecurity about not wanting to sound as if the Matrix didn’t like him or something but can you imagine how this must have messed with Optimus’ mental state. Optimus was already upset by Megatron’s goading and had just admitted to Ironhide about his self-doubt over whether he’s being too reliant on the matrix’s wisdom affecting his judgement. Rodimus threw him in for a further loop.
And then in response Optimus does the same thing as Rodimus, aka lying about his matrix experience, presumably for the same reasons Rodimus did. The whole conversation is a lie leading to a lie.
Tumblr media
Rodimus’ view of the Matrix as the ultimate source of indisputable divine-right autocratic power is more absolute than Optimus’. Here in DoOP when Optimus comes back, Rodimus’ solution to dealing with the NAILs is to have Optimus use the Matrix to assert his authority. When he’s dealing with the Galactic Council and Thunderclash, he calls himself Rodimus Prime to sound more important. Unlike Optimus, who feels guilty about exercising the Matrix’ influence on the colonists, Rodimus doesn’t have qualms about using the Matrix as a power flex.
But at the same time he also treats the Matrix as a tool, not a sacred artefact: he used the Matrix to power his ship when he bonded, and when the Matrix’ energy got depleted, he bashed and cursed at it. When the Matrix was needed to save Vector Sigma, Optimus was reluctant because he thought destroying the Matrix would mean destroying the last of Cybertron’s culture, Rodimus said don’t worry about it. He shattered the Matrix to stop Tyrest and recounted it to Optimus as no big deal.
Tumblr media
Yet he believes in the Knights of Cybertron and insists on going looking for them to restore Cybertron’s culture and the Golden Age as soon as he learned of the Matrix map, despite it being pretty clear to everyone that there was no Golden Age, all at a convenient time when everything’s a mess on Cybertron. He takes 200 Autobots on his ship, a lot of them part of the elite, when they are outnumbered 100 to one.
Tumblr media
This whole interaction made me crack up so hard, I can't even tell whether OP is being sarcastic or not.
Tumblr media
Roddy's internally fuming, but Roddy can't say anything, because "incredible progress" lmao.
Like this is probably the closest we'd get to the "Optimus is Disappointed" thing the fandom loves. Optimus obviously doesn’t believe in the Knights of Cyberton and all the religious crap surrounding it, he probably thinks the Lost Light is on a fool's quest, the whole thing is a waste of time and resources, Rodimus is merely using this as an excuse to get out of the mess on Cybertron (Yeah Hardhead, stop JUDGING), he’d given up his life and name for Cybertron and entrusted Rodimus and Bumblebee to take care of things after he's gone, but Rodimus just went nope and gallivanted off without a backward look, leaving the remaining Autobots at a even more severe disadvantage than they were in before and let Starscream get the chance to oust them as leader.
I guess if you're really into the Disappointed!Optimus thing then this disappointment could be read as stretching all the way back to the Autocracy trilogy, when Optimus admired him as a worthy successor candidate for the Matrix, but as time went on it would have become more and more clear that Rodimus did not match his idea on how the burden of leadership should be borne. They were constantly at odds on Earth, then the whole bad judgement with Swindle happened, then Rodimus decided to redeem bad judgement with more bad judgement by stealing a ship and going solo into Megatron's lair to steal the Matrix back. The Matrix bonding, when it happened, also didn't magically change Rodimus into a more responsible leader. And leaving when Cybertron is in most need of leadership in pursuit of a dream just further cements that disappointment.
But here again they are making the same choice, just for different reasons. They both leave Cybertron in pursuit of their own ideals, they both abandon the Autobots in their hour of need. Optimus says in the end of DoOP that his self-exile is a uniquely selfish choice, that by leaving the mantle of Prime behind he is finally free. Responsible for no one. Beholden to no one. Except that it's still a decision forced by circumstances, flavoured by betrayal and guilt and his own perceived failings. Yet Rodimus is able to make the same decision with no emotional burdens - leaving's what he wanted, he feels no attachment or responsibility to those he left behind, he's just happy with his choice in general.
Tumblr media
People hate on Optimus so much for this scene but does anyone notice, like, how flippantly Rodimus confesses his Overlord fuckup? Oh I smuggled a Decepticon prisoner on board, he escaped, people died, I let my best friend take the blame, I felt guilty about that later so I fessed up and apologized, and now 89/101 of my crew wants me gone. But that's all right because note to self: you gotta win them back, Rodders!
And he even leaves out a good half of it, such as how the Overlord incident is only the last one in a long list of bad decisions and abuse of power and poor treatment of his crew that made them lose faith in him, how the Decepticon prisoner is actually Overlord and they were trying to recreate phase-sixers for Prowl, and how he didn't fess up because he felt bad about Drift, he fessed because Magnus got so fed up with his bullshit that he tried to go to Tyrest to remove his captaincy.
Like it's pretty clear that the 89/101 vote got him hard because it was a blow to his ego. That the vote happened at all is still a big step of personal growth - but the main note he takes from that incident is to win the 89 naysayers back, thus making the failings of his leadership into a completely personal issue, instead of, say, taking a more introspective reflection upon his behaviour regarding concepts such as transparency, responsibility, and accountability. Or taking actual measures to amend his mistake by, idk, sending a message to Drift.
Tumblr media
Optimus’s response is definitely not very supportive and is likely projecting his own discouraged mental state more than a little bit - after all, he resigned his position, never mind if it's not actually the wisest choice - but it definitely did strike the truth right where it hurt, as Rodimus practically admits that he made the confession with the expectation of getting a pep talk. He didn’t confess because he feels ashamed or obligated, he confessed because he wanted Optimus to say things that will make him feel better, not actually criticize his actions. He isn't looking for approval, he's looking for validation and absolution. Optimus saw through it and didn't spare any feelings.
This is the second of the two only times Optimus reacts harshly to Rodimus. The first time is when Rodimus called him out as being "too cozy" with Megatron, but Optimus' anger then hadn't been directed at Rodimus, specifically, he was angry at both everyone and himself.
Optimus was perfectly respectful of Rodimus' captaincy when he thought Rodimus was doing a good job at it when he first came aboard the Lost Light.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Orion reclaimed his identity as Optimus Prime because of Rodimus' words. Rodimus addressed Optimus' fears and insecurities while also acknowledging his own.
This is the exact opposite of the "Rodimus wants approval" stereotype. Rodimus is the one that gave Optimus the will to rise above his uncertainty. It's Rodimus' faith that brought back Optimus Prime. It's seeing Rodimus hurt that gave him the strength to defeat Nova.
Just like how all those years ago, it's Rodimus' faith that led him to finally defy Zeta.
Tumblr media
Rodimus yells at Optimus again lmfao. Optimus gets cut off mid-sentence and sits through a whole rant before going uhhhh no I just wanted to say. It's as if he's the subordinate.
Tumblr media
"Perhaps you could give me a brief update on your progress." This is a perfectly reasonable question, right? Phrased in the most courteous way possible. But Rodimus' response is all passive-aggressive. In the most un-informative way possible. Oh I broke the matrix why are you so hung up about that honestly it wasn't very sturdy to begin with anyway. Like your Chief Justice just tried to commit genocide, maybe that's worth elaborating a bit to your faction leader?
Tumblr media
Optimus didn't not tell Rodimus about Megatron's co-captaincy himself on purpose. He couldn't tell Rodimus because Rodimus wasn't answering his calls.
And also Optimus is fully within his right to arrange captain assignments on the Lost Light however he wants, it's been said in the MTMTE that the Lost Light is an Autobot ship, according to Ultra Magnus he has the right to take command, and in the end it's qualifiable for requisition. Yeah Drift did buy it with his own money but it's like, donating a ship to the Navy.
Tumblr media
Rodimus knows exactly why Optimus put Megatron on the ship. This panel, along with the "cozy" comment and his motivation speech to Optimus in the dead universe, and also to a certain degree the accusations he made before the mission that got Ironhide killed, all shows that Rodimus understands Optimus very well. He knows how Optimus' mind works, his ideals and fears and shortcomings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But here in the last panel it show that Optimus does not understand Rodimus at all, and likely never did. He's cautious in their interactions because he cannot be sure of Rodimus' reaction, even after four million years of familiarity.
This is the last time they see each other before Optimus dies in Unicron, when Optimus is asking the Lost Light to return to Cybertron for Caminus' integration ceremony. As the leader of the Autobots it is well within his right to issue commands. But his whole attitude here is careful, phrasing everything as requests and placations. Not to mention that he barely manages to get in a word edgewise over Rodimus' many (albeit understandable) complaints. And it's Rodimus who cuts off the call.
The thing to keep in mind when looking at these two is that it's almost always Rodimus who holds the reins in their interactions, from their first meeting in Nyon to their last conversation in the Lost Light facetime call. During their first meeting it was Rodimus who lured Optimus to the Acropolex and chose him as the leader to follow despite Optimus and Megatron both trying to recruit him with more or less the same words. And the last time they spoke it was also Rodimus who hung up the phone on Optimus.
It's worth mentioning that from the moment Optimus put Megatron on the Lost Light, he and Rodimus stopped exerting influence on each other's lives. From that point on, the changes and growth to Rodimus' character no longer has anything to do with him. His role in Rodimus' life is replaced by Megatron.
The last thing Rodimus said to Optimus in that call was “Megs says hi.”

i swear there's another universe in which a time traveler moved a chair at some point, causing me to be as gungho about Porky and Gabby as i am Porky and Daffy. WHICH IS FUNNY because i'm about to make a long rambling post about why i think they would be atrocious together. truly Dafpork is endgame to me, i don't and can't ship anything else, not for lack of trying... but. BUT. i am just so utterly fascinated by a potential Porky and Gabby dynamic. especially because i cannot even see these guys being affectionate or intimate SO LIKE WHAT'S THE POINT OF SHIPPING THEM RIGHT?
but it's just. maybe i'm just obsessed with their dynamic in general. Porky and Daffy i think have their own social ineptitudes that can create conflict, with each other or (usually) elsewhere, but they're opposite enough to compliment each other and reach some sort of very weird ground. but maybe the only person more repressed and socially inept than Porky on this planet is Gabby. and putting the two of them together is instant friction. Gabby likes pissing Porky off and porky has a martyr complex where he probably likes getting aggravated because it gives him an excuse to be very passive aggressive back. and Gabby would really like this. it's this bizarre feedback loop, and because they are both so Not Good Socially there would be just. WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN. so much talking at each other rather than two and driving each other insane. i can only describe the way they communicate with each other as, like, a game of never-ending Pong. and they would both get so frustrated at the other because they need an Opposite (ie Daffy, for Porky) to open them up and decipher what they're trying to say. but instead you just get two very tightly wound repressed gay guys who probably get a little bit off on pissing the other off but it also doesn't go anywhere it's just a feedback loop
Tumblr media
☝️ this is what i think a relationship like them would be like. like, somehow even worse than the Donald/Porky one night stand because at least they know what they're there for and there's no attachment. Gabby is actually kind of an extremely depressing character who does genuinely need Porky in some way, and i think Porky feels a sort of, like... he has the youngest child syndrome of unconsciously sweeping someone under his wing and trying to make himself out as a sort of big brother role that he never got to be even though he has no idea what that looks like, and also i'm pretty sure Gabby would be the same age he was. there's an endearment and concern on his part for Gabby, but Gabby shuts him out and Porky also has the emotional maturity of a doorknob and so they're both, just.. kinda screwed. and again, even if things did go well for them, i literally cannot imagine them being affectionate at all. especially because Gabby is somehow even more repressed than Porky in this regard and is, again, SOMEHOW, even more fearful of showing any sort of vulnerability or softness than Porky is
THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE A FUNNY POST AND THEN IT GOT SAD LOL. but i really do like thinking about all of the weird ways they interact and sort of speak at each other rather than to and all of the very funny situations that would make.
i also had the realization that i think i subconsciously structured my understanding of their dynamic all around the ending of Porky and Gabby; Gabby's nudging Porky and laughing at this truck driver that they just ran into while Porky stares vacantly at him... and only emotes in a very unsubtle smile ONLY when Gabby gets smacked in the face soon after. this is sort of what i've been trying to get at in a nutshell
(this post was brought to you by Gabby casually throwing a magazine in Porky's face, after he had just spent the past 5 minutes screaming at him, and then feeling very proud of himself when Porky finally has a "WHAT IS YOUR DEAL" moment #JustActorAUThings)

ranking sun ships
Sun x Roxanne - 6 / 10 it was good while it lasted it probably would have been good if they stuck with it but sun absolutely hates her and I don't watch rwags but I'm pretty sure she is a lesbian not saying you can't ship her with men but just saying. But yeah good while it lasted but not like in love with it.
Sun x sunny - 5 / 10 it's cute.......I have nothing to say about it though. Like since sun is straight the only really female character that he is friends is sunny but sunny is also into Roxas but I highly doubt it will last but for this I just think it's cute and that's it I'm not in love with it.
Sun x servant sun - 3 / 10 to me it's not interesting now as a shot of bolth of them reflecting on everything that they have been through I think it would be interesting but as a couple I just don't think there personality would mesh well
Sun x eclipse - 0 / 10 no eclipse literally cased sun so much trauma sun deserves way better
Sun x ruin 2 / 10 I honestly have nothing to say about these two like sun still doesn't forgive ruin for the whole dimension thing and I don't think of anything interesting that could come from it
Sun x foxy 6 / 10 not gonna lie I don't have anything bad to say about these two. Like yeah they kinda went over board with joking about it but as an actual relationship I think these two would pretty good as foxy is one of the few people in the show to not make fun of sun even in a teasing way. And the two are similar in a few ways
Sun x dark sun 7 / 10 one word yandere like that is quite literally this whole ship in a nutshell is it toxic yes but it's one I can't help but find an interest in.
Sun x killer sun 4 / 10 this is like dark sun x sun but worse
Sunshine x foxy 5 / 10 for a one sided crush it's good but as an relationship yeah no sunshine is way too childish and immature
Servant sun x dark sun 2 / 10 dark sun I feel would mentality manipulate servant and he already had lord eclipse who treated him badly. I would much rather to me for servant to be shipped with someone who is a good person and can help him through his trauma and move on with someone better cause boy deserve that
Dark sun x killer sun 10 / 10 *chief kiss* like these two would be such a good match. Dark sun hates moon and wants all sun to kill their moon and stand up to them by force. And dispute that he would be perfectly willing to give a short of tough love to mainly Sams sun if he needs to for his goals. He is cold and calculating. Meanwhile with killer sun has the same mindset as dark sun as he hates moon as well but he instead of dark sun got his own hands dirty and killed any and all moons they saw and also kidnapped moon and wanted to know every bad thing he did to sun and once he does he basically tells moon he is worthless outside his family and he is nothing without them they are impulse and violent. Both would counter act each other perfectly and booth think alike. I can definitely see these to trying to find a way to get rid of all moon permanently. Killer sun killing the moons that are too violent and dark sun dealing with the ones that aren't. God I need to make a fic about these two there so damn good the interaction when they met was just the cherry on top.
Solar 's sun x solar 3 / 10 I think they have a more big brother and little brother relationship even if it's not said.

I talked about Grayson's entrances already but I'M GOING TO TALK ABOUT THE OTHER BROTHERS' ENTRANCES IN TIG.
All their entrances represent them in a nutshell.
Like, Grayson's showed his authority (kicking out a school principal from his own office, his dialogue with Ave, everything)
BUT THEN Xander's first appearance was literally him coming out of a coat closet, looking unruly and dusting his pants 😭 (which shows his randomness and idk I felt like there was some humour in that like... Avery and Libby were not yet used to Hawthorne House so seeing a boy come out of a coat closet must've been wild for them 😭😭)
AND JAMIE - everything about his first appearance is so him (dangling precariously from a balcony railing, nearly giving Avery a heart attack bc she thought he'd fall, speaking in riddles and crypts and calling her Mystery Girl [screams internally])
Nash's entrance was him in the Great Room with a suit paired with COWBOY BOOTS and his first interaction w Avery, he told her he didn't care about the money and took off with his motorcycle (he just left after the will was read which just shows his IDGAF attitude and "y'all can fight over the inheritance but I'm outta here")
