[nichelink]

Nichegroup: A newly coined and mostly likely niche dynamic between a group of acquaintances that differs from social norms, but is consensual and aware of potential risks. It may come with specific predefined roles and tasks, or be casual. It's a sister term to nichelink.

compared to nichelink, this term is slightly more relaxed, because i want it to be accessible to both casual "haha our friend group is kind of like a cat colony" and to people like myself who crave a semi-organized specific dynamic where one person is dominant over others in their group. it still uses the age rating system that nichelink does, but i personally picture that most of the terms coined for this will end up with lower age ratings because of the room for relaxed and casual identification.

examples of nichegroups could be:

a cat colony

a pokemon team and their trainer

the programs on a computer

a warrior cats clan

other things which are specifically meant to be applied to a group of people/your group of friends if you took "our friend group is like [thing]" seriously

nichegroups can be serious like i just said, but they can also be more relaxed. it can be a whole Thing that your group agrees to, such as you deciding which person will have what role and having a discussion of what they can and cannot ask the others to do, or it may be more casual. either way, i suggest having a formal discussion, creating a contract, or having some other kind of guidance when you bring up to your group that you want to do this, so that everyone involved knows what it's going to entail, even if it only ends up being a simple "can we x?" "yeah sure" and that's it. nichegroups should not be done with implied consent.

some reasons people may use this term:

attraction types like drift attraction, pack, considatore, peculic, forms of social or platonic attraction, etc

lightheartedly deciding you'll treat your group like [insert thing]

desire for companionship with people who understand your [insert any identity that relates to being alterhuman, having atypical dysphoria, etc]

anything dysfirming, really.

grammar:

nichegrouping: the state of being in this kind of relationship with someone else. “we’re nichegrouping” “we might start nichegrouping since we're all dogkin”

nichegroup: 1) the specific terms themself. “i coined a nichegroup,” “definition: an all-ages nichegroup where…” 2) the relationship itself. “our nichegroup scheduled a party tomorrow,” “his last nichegroup broke up”

nichegrouper: someone who participates in nichegroupings or wishes to.

nichegroupies: the people in your nichegroup (general term, you can also just call them your groupies, friends, partners, or whatever word is used in the definition of a term, such as calling them "gems" in the definition later in this post)

nichegroups are titled as [thing] Nichegroup, but you can drop "nichegroup" when you're talking about it outside of the official title because this can make sentences really fucking long. here's an example:

basically, here i just list things that occur to me that might make someone seek this out. for example, someone who is pokemon alterhuman might seek out a pokemon related nichegroup because they miss being on a team and want that relationship with a trainer and the rest of their party again, one where they explore, have allegiance to the trainer and obey them, but have their own life and personality still. and then i go, okay, so pokemon don't exist in the real world, how can they emulate this online or offline?

other notes:

every rule about age ratings i already mentioned for nichelinks still applies here. if it involves erotic content, it's automatically 18+. if it involves modifying someone's identity or training them, it's automatically 16+. i will continue to update the faq on the nichelink carrd to add a nichegroup page, so i really implore you to read that over if you haven't yet.

there is some crossover between nichegroups and nichelinks, and if you aren't 100% sure whether your relationship should be one or the other, that's okay. and: people in a nichegroup can also be in individual nichelinks, whether separate from the nichegroup's theme or related to it.

nichegroups should never encourage harm on purpose. by nature, this term cannot include asking your nichegroupies to self injure, not drink or eat, or engage with content that will trigger their delusions or triggers. please affirm your identities within reason.

THE INSTITUTE - Review

DISTRIBUTOR: Gravitas Ventures

SYNOPSIS:  Daniel and Marie seem to be out of options to have a baby after Marie’s reproductive organs are left mangled due to a bad surgical procedure. Daniel comes across what may be their last hope, Dr. Arthur Lands and his The Landis Institute. Desperate to have a child, they begin treatment at a renowned doctor's secluded facility. However, the couple becomes suspicious when the medical regimen brings on psychological side effects. As they attempt to learn the truth about The Institute things take a dark turn and they begin to realize they might be the captives of their mistake.

REVIEW: There have been several films recently released that do an excellent job of combining human and women rights issues and abuse with the horror genre that shines a light on the subject and gives the viewer something to think about. You might consider them socially relevant horror films. THE INSTITUTE is not one of them.

Hamza Zaman’s screenplay attempts to put a contemporary veneer on a genre cliched. Instead of a young couple in an old dark horse, the home of a mad scientist, this couple is motivated by their desire to have a child to this clinic set deep in the woods, far from civilization or cell signals. There are some shady lab assistants and misshapen henchmen lurking about. There’s not much meat on the bone here as early on you can see where this is going and there is not much to these characters. They feel superficial and cliched. There a numerous sex scenes and back in the day the film might be considered ���soft porn.”

The cinematography, costumes, and location look great and elevate the film a bit. The effects are kind of kitschy and the Dr.’s fertility lab looks like a contemporary “Flash Gordon” set. The editing adds some momentum to the film, but there are some choppy cuts. The fight sequences were a bit humorous, and I’m not sure they were supposed to be.

The cast is okay. I’m not sure if it is simply the script or the direction, or the combination of both, that often have these performances feeling like nails on a chalkboard. When the cast is together there is this static feeling that prevents the viewer from entertaining the drama. There are moments early on when Ignacyo Matynia and Victorya Brandart are likable. Mark Lobene is okay as Dr. Arthur Lands, but when he ups his intensity I felt like I was watching “Plan Nine From Outer Space.” Okay, so the director, Hamza Zaman, plays the Yogi. His big scene leads the group to an orgy scene. Give me a break!

THE INSTITUTE feels like it should have taken place in a mental institution rather than a fertility clinic. Not one to watch with the kids, and not sure it’s much of a “date night” film for genre fans. It seems like a good idea, but there is no gravitas to the story. The film has more of a sitcom tone than a genre film. This is an old school film that may find a small audience, but lacks the vision to be reimagined for a present-day audience. It lacks a clear vision as to what it wants to be and given some of the plot points it goes off the rails and into a confusing ditch.

Herrengedeck

Männer sind ganz bestimmt nicht die Krone der Schöpfung. Und Gott ist auch alles andere als männlich. Warum ich das schreibe? Um eine Überleitung hinzubekommen zu den drei folgenden Herren, die ziemlich ordentliche Musik machen. Ganz schön billig dieser Trick? Nun ja, es kann ja auch nicht jeder Mann so kreativ sein wie diese drei hier:

Als Jack Antonoff im Juli 2014 sein Debütalbum unter dem Namen Bleachers veröffentlicht, hat sich daraus zwar keine Nummer 1 entwickelt, aber ein Achtungserfolg, der etwas nach sich zog, das es so bisher auch noch nicht gab. Auf Strange Desires fanden sich schillernde Retro-Pop-Perlen, von denen jede einzige ein Hit hätte sein müssen. Antonoff, eigentlich Gitarrist in der etwas bekannteren Band Fun., lenkte nicht nur die Aufmerksamkeit von Pop-Fans auf sich, sondern auch die einiger bekannter Musikerkollegen. Und so ergab es sich, dass im September 2015 das Debütalbum erneut erschien – diesmal allerdings nur als Download und via LP unter dem Namen Terrible Thrills, Vol. 2 und mit Gesangspart deutlich bekannter Popstars wie Sia, Charlie XCX oder Elle King. Als quasi Nobody der Branche muss man das erstmal schaffen: Einige große Namen hinter sich zu versammeln und ein erfolgreiches Album ein zweites Mal aufzunehmen. Jetzt erscheint mit Gone Now das zweite richtige Album des Ausnahmetalents, der die 80er so innig liebt, wie derzeit vielleicht nur der aus Deutschland stammende Popstar Roosevelt. Don’t Take The Money war die erste neue Single, die gut angedeutet hat, wohin die Reise geht. Weg vom echten Hit, hin zu Material, dass man sich – Pop hin, Pop her – doch irgendwie warm hören muss. Im großen Ganzen werden auf Gone Now Teenager-Sehnsüchte und -Ängste verarbeitet. Allerdings mit dem Blick eines 33-Jährigen, also einer gehörigen Portion Retro und Weichzeichner. Dass Gone Now kein Album voller Jugendsünden geworden ist, liegt an Antonoffs Gespür für kitschfreie Geschichten, die ihm auch bei ernsten Themen wie in Goodmorning oder Everybody Lost Somebody leicht von der Hand gehen. Dabei ist das zweite Bleachers-Album alles andere als eine Nummer sicher. Letztlich ist es eines jener Alben geworden, an dessen Songs man immer wieder etwas Neues entdeckt, je öfter man sie hört. Und damit empfiehlt es sich geradezu als eines der wenigen Alben, das von jedem dort draußen einen Sommer lang in Repeat gehört werden sollte.

Bleachers Gone Now VÖ: 2. Juni 2017

  Cool ist, wer Cooles tut. Insofern sollte Ron Sexsmith eigentlich längst als cool gelten. Tut er aber irgendwie nicht. Zumindest nicht so sehr wie andere aus der zweiten Reihe, denen es immer etwas besser gelingt, sich und ihre Musik zu verkaufen. Sexsmith kann nicht unbedingt mit optischer Attraktivität punkten. Seine Platten bersten auch nicht gerade vor stilistischer Vielfalt. Alle Songs sind solide produziert und tadellos arrangiert. Nur aufgefallen ist er damit bisher nicht. Auch sein 15. Album, The Last Rider, wird daran nichts ändern. Mit seiner Musik, die es immer wieder schafft, eine Brücke zwischen Americana und Barock-Pop zu ziehen, hat er sich dennoch eine solide Fanbasis ersungen. Dennoch hat dieser unscheinbare Kanadier noch mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient. Leute dieser Welt, hört euch The Last Rider an, nehmt es mit auf den bevorstehenden Roadtrip durch diesen Sommer und werdet damit unbesiegbar. Längst sind auch Musikgrößen wie Paul McCartney, Chris Martin, Radiohead oder Elvis Costello auf Sexsmith aufmerksam geworden und loben dessen Singer- und Songwriter-Qualitäten. Der wird sich zwar über all das Lob gefreut haben, trotzdem hat sich nicht verändert. Sexsmith macht nach wie vor Musik, die vor allem so klingt, als wäre sie für die Bars und kleinen Clubs dieser Welt gemacht worden. Seit Jahren tourt er mit der gleichen Band, man kennt sich, vertraut sich. Das hört man auch The Last Rider an. Anders als bisher, wo Sexsmith alle Songs quasi im Alleingang komponiert und geschrieben hat, haben sich fürs neue Album alle Musiker zu gemeinsamen Sessions eingefunden und die Songs im Team geschrieben. Sexmsith scheint die Wurzel gewesen zu sein, aus der am Ende alles wächst und prächtig gedeiht – so organisch klingt sein neues Album, das mit 15 Songs auf knapp 50 Minuten kommt. Genug Material, um sich mit jedem neuen Song aufs Neue in einen Musiker zu verlieben, den seit 25 Jahren vor allem zwei Dinge ganz besonders auszeichnen: Bescheidenheit und die Liebe zu guter Musik. Man stelle sich nur vor, der hätte irgendwann den Weg ins Formatradio, zu Austauschbarkeit und Beliebigkeit eingeschlagen. Traurig wäre das. Insofern ist alles gut so, wie es ist. Keiner mimt The Last Rider derzeit so gut wie Sexsmith. Das darf gern so bleiben.

Ron Sexsmith The Last Rider VÖ: 21. April 2017

  Wenn man als Musiker auf Mallorca lebt, sich den Namen L.A. verpasst (was den Initialen beider Vornamen entspricht, aber ja da draußen erstmal keiner weiß) und keine Ballerman-Hits produziert, dann hat man sich damit zumindest einen Moment lang Aufmerksamkeit verdient. Luis Albert Segura ist spanischer Songwriter und gibt offenbar nicht viel auf die extreme Suchmaschinen-Unfreundlichkeit seines Bandnamens. Andere würden daran verzweifeln, aber ihm scheint das alles weitestgehend egal zu sein. Das ändert sich auch auf dem fünften Album seiner Band nicht. King of Beasts heißt das neue Album, das sich ganz wohl fühlt in der Pop-Rock-Schublade und einige eingängige Hits vorzuweisen hat. Abgemischt wurde das Album von der Grammy-Preisträgerin Manny Marroquin (John Legend, Sia) und Michael Braun (Coldplay, John Mayer). Früher trug Segura blondierte Haare, als Spanier war er damit natürlich ein Hingucker. Mittlerweile sind sowohl er als auch seine Musik erwachsen geworden. Die Haare sind wieder naturfarben, die Musik ist unaufgeregt und bedient die Vorlieben von Fans multiinstrumentale Stücke mit allerlei Pop-Elementen bis hin zu rein mit Akustik-Gitarre vorgetragenen Songs (Suddenly – Sound City, House of the Wasted Truth). Man hört L.A. ihre Herkunft nicht an: nach typisch spanischen Klängen sucht man auf King of Beasts vergeblich. Hörer von Enrique Iglesias werden das vermutlich schade finden. L.A. haben sich aber offenbar nicht grundlos dafür entschieden, international zu klingen. Sogar ein bisschen Country hat sich in den einen oder anderen Song verirrt. Alles das harmoniert bestens mit Seguras dezent kratziger Stimme, die nie mehr will, als den Hörer zu umschmeicheln. Weibliche Hörer fallen darauf vermutlich schneller rein, als der eine oder andere Kerl. Doch auch letztere dürften an Songs wie The Keeper and The Rocket Man oder Leave It All Behind Gefallen finden. Dafür ist das Songwriting zu gut.

Diamond+Pearl: a 16+ nichelink relationship/relationship dynamic where one person in the relationship takes the role of the "pearl", and the other/s are the "diamond," akin to the relationship between a pearl and a diamond who owns them in "Steven Universe."

Some indicators one is experiencing loben attraction is feeling excited, fuzzy, overjoyed, and/or simply desiring to praise a specific person. A loben crush may be called a preis, while a loben partner may be called a praiser or praised.
