Okay so I’m a pretty okayish genshin fan, like I know some of the lore and that stuff, plus some of the characters which is why I’m confused on some of your ships, like Kaeya and Diluc, Albedo and Freminette and collei and yun jin. Mainly due to kaeya and Diluc being brothers in game, even referring to themselves as such multiple times, freminette is very much (at least hinted at) to be a child and albedo is obviously rather older than him, same with collei and yun jin, there may be more but I wasn’t able to see all of them on your chart.

ahhh the fun explanations ! ill try to explain as nicely as possible but if i sound mean at any point thats bc ive gotten these kinds of questions in not so nice ways so im used to responding not so kindly apologies in advance (LOTS of text ahead, sorry)

there are No Canon Exact Ages in genshin, no direct "hey this character is a Child!" other than the actual children models (klee, diona dori, even dori could be the trope of short old woman actually bc she does not talk like a child and klee is an Elf Thing who ages differently but this isn't abt them) the absolute closest we get to guessing someones age is diluc and ayato, diluc because his timeline of when he was in the knights(like 10), when the fight with kaeya happened(18) and when he got back(3-4 years after), we can estimate he is 21-22, mostly because we dont know just how many years he was on that break; and then it was said somewhere in ayato story description hes implied to be in his early to late 30s? if i remember correctly? ill have to fact check that myself again later

absolutely none of the "" teenage"" models have any exact age that actually sets them in the "minor" category; and genshin does this on purpose, they want the ages to be ambiguous so any character can be sexualized because they know nsfw work of thier characters Sells The Game to new people.

i never want to bash anyone for thier headcanons,to each his own; but because we have no canon ages to the fanon teen characters at the youngest they're all 18 to me, yes even collei and mika and those who are "" minor coded" they're young adults to me

frankly im sick and tired of the fandom treating fanon As Canon when its not at all like that 😔

now as for the kaeya/diluc stuff, this requires a biiit more explanation;

when i first started playing genshin and noticed thier dynamic, it felt familiar to another ship dynamic i was just obsessed with, i spotted the signs and started calling them exes from there, then i looked into fandom content and learned that the adopted brothers thing is a mistranslation, and in the cn text of the game they are referred to as sworn brothers which is a popular cn trope to hide homosexual relationships in cn media ; yes theres an argument to be made of "well if it was a mistranslation why haven't they fixed it yet" maybe they dont want to, for further censorship or maybe they prefer two versions of the relationship

dear anon id like you to read the genshin webtoon, where kaeya says how i think thier relationship is best interpreted; "diluc and i are like brothers" and later on diluc responds even with 'i am not your brother' i dont remember word for word

so as stated before i am not here to bash anyones takes; hell im not even fully on the "kaeluc side" myself i see them as exes who are too important to each other to leave each other entirely, but im not gonna tell that to the ragbros believers

they all have their own takes and i have mine, if you ever disagree thats okay and im never going to force you to view the relationships the same as i do; thats Boring!! we need to have different takes and different ideas otherwise we're clones of each other and thats never fun imo

one thing i’ve never really seen explored in fics explicitly is the fact that despite both echo and tech being autistic, they were brought up in very different environments with different responses to their autistic traits.

tech’s special (war-related) interests and obsessive data gathering was likely encouraged by the kaminoans. he had a group of supportive brothers who were equally shunned by the other clones, but the kaminoans saw them as elite, and they internalized that. what the regular clones say can hurt, sure, but they aren’t the ones in power, the kaminoans are. the bad batch know they’re different from the other clones, but they think they’re inherently better. and yeah, the batch still tease tech and are outright mean about traits of his sometimes, but they stand by each other when it counts. tech’s differences make him special in a good way, and despite the hardships, he knows that.

but echo? echo’s batch were also shunned, they were an actual “bad batch”, but the kaminoans were upset by it. these weren’t special defective clones, these were just defective clones. echo in particular had his habits of repeating orders and obsessively reading reg manuals, and because his batch were all trying so hard to fit in with the others, they learned to look down on traits like that, echo included. i think echo has a good amount of internalized ableism not just as a formerly physically able-bodied person who suddenly lost three limbs and his autonomy, but just as an autistic guy growing up in a system that praises conformity to the extreme. he’s literally a CLONE. and not a special elite one, he’s supposed to be just like everyone else, but he isn’t. (fives might’ve even been so adamant about clones’ individuality because of this, because echo had internalized harmful ideas of conformity and fives wanted him to see past that. idk i might add on to that later lol)

my point being, i think it’d be really interesting to see echo clashing a bit with tech when he first joins the group. not in an outright mean way, not with the intention to harm, but just. on accident. he’s ignorant, and he’s learned over the years to suppress those traits in himself, so seeing someone so openly and freely embracing his passions and interests and differences would probably make echo uncomfortable in ways he wouldn’t even recognize.

he might make casual comments or jokes that are meant to be harmless or at the most self-deprecating, but that end up hurting tech. he might be stricter with tech in certain situations, like formal events that he’s learned the hard way to pay attention during, but that tech brushes off to mess with his datapad. i think echo would scold tech for little unimportant things, things that echo trained himself out of, because he thinks he’s doing him a favor when really he’s just perpetuating harmful ideas. they might even be things tech already is aware of but knows are ableist ideas, so he ignores them.

idk. i just think it’d be fun if, in addition to helping him accept all the changes that have happened to him, tech also helped echo learn to accept who he’s always been :D

and of course there would be the side plot of crosshair gradually getting more and more defensive and protective of tech when echo is being a bit of an unintentional dick and them inevitably butting heads in a big way because of it. because ofc they would :D

I might be insane but hear me out Mira and erza religious trauma bond they are 2 sides of the same coin fr.

Mira was raised in a pretty religious town right. As soon as she developed her demon magic all of them, everyone she knew, turned on her. She wanted to remain there but was forcibly pushed away, isolated and told she was a disgusting monster for something she really couldn't control.

Erza however was not raised at all basically, as far as we know she was on her own from day 1, then at like 6 was kidnapped and dragged into a cult against her will to be forced to work for a god she didn't know anything about.

For Mira developing her magic was the end of everything, the day her entire life fell apart and she hates herself for it. She tried to burn her arm off because she hated it so much, when the villagers said she was disgusting she believed them and hated herself with every fiber of her being.

For erza, magic was the one shred of hope she ever had, joining fairy tail and being a wizard was her dream growing up and the day she developed it was the day she was finally able to fight back. As an adult she clung to her magic and armors as her only way of hiding her weakness and protecting those she loves. In erza's mind, outside of her ability to protect she was nothing.

Mira was forced out of her religion,

erza was dragged into hers.

To Mira, her magic was a curse. It was a disgusting mutation that she hated because she believes it made her unlovable.

To Erza, magic was all that she had. She as a person was nothing, her magic was the only thing about her that ever would be worth loving.

I need to yap about some character analysis' I've done because it needs to exist outside my head and it probably won't be obviously brought up in future chapters (unless I do some ol POV switcheroo for all of them back to back or something. But I don't have it planned so :3). I love character analysation if you couldn't tell by the block of text. They're mostly in my head to keep track of, I don't write them down a lot, so I hope it's not too chaotic (⁠・⁠–⁠・⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ

Okay, okay, so, object in motion Tom, Severus and Dakota are all liars (which I hope you guys know as fact haha), but in different ways.

Tom's lying is convuluted, he does it without needing to put energy into it. Everything is a web of half truths, omissions and masks. He weights if the truth or a lie will get him more. He plans ahead CONSTANTLY, already calculating whatever he says will get him what kind of future. Predicating what kind of actions would happen/reactions he would face/consequences that would crop up later. And of course the reward he'd get out of it. It's not inherently malicious, he learned to do it as a child because it was based on his own survival. But it is calculated. It's control he thinks he has, from his response to anything, and to the predictions he makes based on those responses. He doesn't tend to make mistakes, because he has had a life time of experience learning how to better respond/predict to things. (Well, doesn't tend to miscalculate, but sometimes surprises happen that he couldn't even imagine. Like Dakota (⁠ ⁠˵⁠ ⁠°⁠ ⁠~⁠ ⁠°⁠ ⁠˵⁠ ⁠) hahaha. Just a way for an entire spiderweb of planning and predictions shattering because someone's hand accidentally went through it. It makes him nervous, which makes him plan more but in different ways, to try to get control back. I like to call him a mess but he wouldn't appreciate that XD).

Severus' lying comes as easy as breathing. He lies constantly, mostly to himself. Convincing himself he's worse than he is, or convincing others the same. But there's a few things he wouldn't lie about. Where he's brutally honest about and people will think it's a lie because he's so honest about it. He uses lies and truths as weapons. Spending years as a spy where even his thoughts couldn't be the truth means that sometimes he doesn't know the truth either, he was often not allowed to consciously know the truth. So lying is second nature, but not always on purpose. His perspective on things are just slightly to the left or right, and only occasionally fully what they should be. Layers. Lots of layers. With some key stones of himself that he has and holds onto because those are the only things he was allowed to hold onto. (Getting confronted with any truth makes his foundations SHAKY, giving him a crisis is easy, but only if you're someone he would acknowledge enough to let the words hit him. Truths from people he trusts are like a weapon, and he doesn't have a defense to that. Midlife crisis but only every time someone he holds in high regard says something that shatters his entire perception of himself, and it could literally be ANYTHING that they say. (⁠☞ﾟ⁠ヮﾟ⁠)⁠☞ this man is a massive mess and at least he's sort of self aware about that!!!).

Dakota's lying is a shield. He uses it to hide. To evade. To hide from the world and from himself. He denies mostly, trying not to outright lie. He can, he just prefers not to. Preferring to leave blanks and let everyone else fill in their version of the truth. There's some things he can't lie about, and some things he can only lie about. And his lying was born from the need to protect himself. To become invisible. He doesn't handle being perceived well, and tends to lie more when he thinks people are getting closer to any truth he doesn't want them to know. There's a specific ranking he has, between what he knows is truth and can say, what he knows he must lie about, and what he cannot ever say. And he balances between that constantly. Sometimes using a truth as a shield if he knows he can't get away with blatantly lying or feels he shouldn't. (He doesn't quite know how to be honest without feeling very vulnerable/uncomfortable. There's not a single person in his life he hasn't lied to in some way or form, which means he's never let his guard down completely. People who show that they can be trustworthy leave him baffled. He doesn't know how to let go of his shield.(⁠ノ⁠ಥ⁠,⁠_⁠｣⁠ಥ⁠)⁠ノ⁠彡⁠┻⁠━⁠┻ Dakota at least knows he's a massive mess with issues, even if he's not quite sure of all his issues yet).

They're three liars, but different kinds of liars. (And different kinds of messes).
