the garages aren't usually packs just because like. the mechanics will sometimes form pack bonds, and the strategist/engineers might also occasionally, but it's not usually the entire garage. max trying to pack bond everyone is because he views all of them as pack, since he works with all of them closely.

generally you wouldn't find a tire gunner and PR rep pack bonding though. heat crisis max did not care about this, and made everyone scent him in a pack pile anyways.

max letting everyone in the drivers pack think he's an angry beta instead of being honest. lewis and seb letting their bias cloud their judgment instead of being like "pup. paddock pup. where tf is his supervision" (if max were openly alpha or omega they maybe would have tried to intervene, but because he's a "beta" it got brushed under the rug.)

Me up again metaphorically pacing my room thinking about how datv is a game about hard choices that don't have a right or wrong answer (but the answer you choose still shapes you and your relationships the same way it shaped Solas and his own relationships)

and a game about regret for things you had no choice but to do (the same way Solas had no choice but to struggle against the rule of the evanuris including his best friend/lover/elder sister)

and a game about how even then you ultimately did have a choice (the same way Solas could have refused to make the dagger or could have allowed flemythal to do whatever she had planned or could have not tried to tear the veil back down which he knew would kill everybody before it fixed anything)

and a game about how sometimes you do your best and do things for good reasons and you still fuck up and you can't save everybody and people will still be frustrated with you (the same way the veil was an accident and Solas was only able to save a tiny fragment of mythal and even that fragment seems bitter about him holding her there even though he does it out of love)

and a game about what leadership does to its leaders (the same way Solas killed his blighted allies, the same way he betrayed felassan, the same way he ultimately betrayed the shard of mythal in flemeth)

and a game about GRIEF and how rook is trapped in it and not being allowed to move forward by blood magic, and how grief cages you (the same way Solas feels caged by the loss of mythal and he's just as trapped as rook is but it's of his own free will and how he uses rook as a method of self absolution for what he did to Varric)

and how every character arc and story touches on at least one if not multiple of these points and how it's all layered in with area quests, side quests, main story quests, that do the same thing. I'm tired of feeling like I have to qualify my praise of datv with "it has problems" because it's a fucking dragon age game. They are all, in their own ways, hot messes. Each one has its weak hinges and its stress points but the level of sheer thematic cohesion and thought in datv is absolutely fucking unparalleled and I don't think I'm wrong to say so

"sorry, we aren't eating spicy food right now." soonyoung says it over the phone to mingyu who, from what you heard because the call is on speaker, is trying to pawn off leftovers to soonyoung. not you, because your wisdom teeth just came out, and it'll aggravate it now. you look up from your phone, your heart warm at the notion.

we. we aren't doing this. we are in this together. you think you might cry. soonyoung's already explaining it to him: you can't have it, so he won't eat it, either: not directly in front of you while you're missing it this much already. you think this means he might indulge himself if he goes out without you, but you don't mind that. hell, you really hope he does if that's what he wants.

mingyu laughs after a moment, after soonyoung has apologized a few too many times. "no, it's fine," he says. "i'll ask vernon. are they craving anything that i can make?"

soonyoung looks at you when he thinks you're not looking or listening. "um... i think anything soft is good. they're miserable right now. i think i'll have to let anything hot cool down first, but... i think they'd appreciate it."

mingyu lets out a hum of affirmation. "i'll pull something together and drop by."

you fight back a smile as you listen to soonyoung thank him more than a few times before saying he'll talk to him again later. he comes over, bottle of pills in hand, and sets them down on the coffee table so that he can move your legs and sit underneath them. he drops them back into your lap, still holding on.

"is it bothering you?" he gestures toward his jaw. "i can get you something to eat so you can take your medicine..."

"i love you."

he blinks a few times. "... huh?"

"you don't have to cut out the stuff you enjoy for me." you reach out, pinching his cheek a little. "i don't mind. i'm an adult."

he pouts a little. "i'm not cutting them out completely," he says, one hand squeezing your ankle a little. "just when i'm with you. it'd be mean to sit in front of you and eat anything i know you want." he's sheepish now, eyes drifting away from you. "i like sharing with you. so... whenever we eat together," he meets your gaze again, "i'll eat only things i know you hate. okay?"

despite the tiny way your jaw aches now, you lean in, pressing a quick peck against the corner of his lips. it's clumsy, but still just as sweet, and it sends him into giggles nonetheless as he leans in to pepper your face with kisses as gently as he can.

"we're in this together," he says when he pulls back. he extends his pinky, beaming at you more when it makes you smile. "okay? we're a team."

you just giggle through the pain and lock your pinky around his own, taking the chance to steal one more kiss from him.

In my little continuity, the Primes were indeed Primus's firstborn, but they were made from the suffering of their maker as he fought to survive. The Titans though? They were born to give life, made to spread Primus's gifts to all creation. As such, they are naturally gentle and inherently incapable of violence.

They will not fight back if attacked, nor will they rise to the defense of their citizens (although they will provide weaponry and protection in the form of walls and the like). They cannot even comprehend why one would hurt another outside of the natural order of things. It is to the point where those who care for the remaining Titans have labeled them as having the cognitive capabilities of newbuilds. For all their age and wisdom, Titans are, at their core, the only entities in the universe to maintain a sense of innocence all throughout their lives. They hold no anger, no bitterness, and no grudges. Everything, in their optics, will play out as it should.

As such, the Titans have always had guardians to protect them from a reality that would seek to crush them into dust. During the first age, the Primes filled this role. In the modern era, seekers of Vos have taken on the mantle, guarding and speaking on the behalf of the three remaining Titans on Cybertron.

I keep thinking about writing an age gap Madatobi fic

Tobirama is 25 and Madara is 35 and they are widely attracted to each other and Madara has a tendency to want to spoil Tobirama but Tobirama has zero interest in his money or status he just wants to ride his dick for hours well after he's screamed himself hoarse and has no voice for an entire day after.

Madara wants to dress Tobirama in all the finery he can afford (because he damn well CAN and he wouldn't even blink an eye when doing it because it wouldn't even scratch the surface of what he's able to spend). He wants to see Tobirama in Uchiha finery, gift him expensive tea leaves and sake with only the finest of cups to drink them from. He wants to see him wear the finest of jewelry. Each piece more intricate than the last.

Only Tobirama wants nothing to do with those things because he couldn't give less of a fuck about things like that.

The first time Madara tries to gift him a beautiful and elaborate hair piece Tobirama tried to stab him with it and accused Madara of thinking him some sort of bought woman and Madara had hesitated to answer a second too long so Tobirama went directly for his eyes.

(Tobirama would never admit to letting Madara fuck him hard and fast into the sheets while he begrudgingly wore the elaborate hair piece) (he later melts it down into senbon needles and Madara pretends it doesn't please him to know in a roundabout way Tobirama accepted his gift anyway)

Tobirama's skin crawls every time Madara tires to gift him anything and has no qualms about putting his pants back on and fleeing into the night like a bat out of hell.

He dispares that he's widely attracted to Madara and it pisses him off how capable of a man and a shinobi Madara is.

Madara capitalizes on this every second of the day because the feeling is mutual.

Hashirama's nose crinkles I'm disgust and he says, "Him? Really?"

And Tobirama’s head makes a concerning noise when he slams it onto the table and says "I dont want to talk about it, just pour the sake."

"But he's just so old."

"You're the same age as him, Anija."

"Oh Sage, he gave you this sake didn't he? Please tell me I'm not drinking your sex sake."

Depending on how you understand time travel working in the FFXIV universe there is a case to be made that the WoL created Hydaelyn.

There's a lot we don't know about Venat, a lot that is open to headcanon and theorizing about what exactly she's doing offscreen in critical parts of the timeline that she don't see. But if you wanted to, I think you could make the case that by telling her the future, the Warrior of Light sets Venat on her path to becoming Hydaelyn and perhaps convinces her that there is no way to prevent the future from unfolding as described--whether that's true or not, and who can really say if it is?

If you wanted to take it a step further, you could even argue that Elidibus, the heart of Zodiark, in his final act sends the Warrior of Light back in time as an act of self-preservation--to ensure that history unfolds such that Zodiark comes into existence.

Two things are true of primals as we understand them for most of the game's story:

They are created through the faith of their devotees. Their adherents create them, not the other way around.

Many display a self-preservative nature that is inherently destructive, both in drawing aether from any and all surrounding sources and in tempering their adherents to sustain their existence.

The WoL's (and subsequently Venat's) belief that Hydaelyn must come into being creates Hydaelyn, and Hydaelyn by Her blessing shapes the WoL into a person who believes She must come into being. Elidibus's belief that Zodiark must come into being creates Zodiark, and Zodiark shapes Elidibus into the person who believes that Zodiark must come into being. These things can be philosophically true whether or not either cycle involves tempering in the literal sense we know it.

I'm not necessarily saying this is true or an intended reading, but I think it's a viable and interesting interpretation to play with.

ok ok im sure you get a ton of fanfic recommends but you NEED to check out Kenosis by Interstyx on AO3 i know i know its long and its dense but its so good and its like super cool if you look at the dates each chapter drops this stuff was written by like ep 2 or 3 annd later on it bascially predicts what happens later in the show ok AND the author is a huge fan of your work

That being said, I do have several fics/series that I’ve been meaning to read. Fics that I’d really like to dedicate more attention and thought to- but my focus is very divided with my 2 jobs atm, so it’s taking me a while to get to. might make another fic list of my faves when I do!
