Percy Jackson was an animal on the battlefield. Half the time, he wasn’t too sure what he was doing, or even if what he was doing was right. As long as the monsters kept turning to dust, Percy didn’t question his movements. Throwing a quick glance over his shoulder, he notices you preoccupied with a small group of monsters. Acknowledging that you were okay, knowing you can handle it, he turns back to the larger group of monsters that stand before him, probably wondering if he’d be a tasty dinner for them.

Percy narrows his eyes, running Riptide first into the herd, not looking back.

You, on the other hand, were taking it slow when facing these monsters. Maybe it has to do with the training you’ve received from Charlie, remembering how he’d scold you to be clean with your jabs, never letting a weak spot open up in your defense. You quickly count the amount of monsters before you, only taking in four, you could handle it easily. Your own sword comes up, using it as a boundary between yourself and the monsters—one of the first moves you learned when you started training with Charlie. You take a deep breath, clearing your head as you focus at the task at hand. You will not die today.

It only took you three minutes to take down the four monsters, handling the fight with great care as you didn’t hesitate as you slashed through them with your sword. What you had failed to realize was that there was a looming herd of monsters creeping behind you, hoping to catch you by surprise. 

You hear a heavy footstep, the monsters making themselves known to you. You turn around, eyes widening at the very large monsters. You didn’t have enough time to attempt to count them, already knowing the simple answer. There was way to many for you to take on alone. Taking the coward’s way out, you break into a run, pumping your legs as you put as much distance between yourself and the monsters.

You quickly realize running is useless, and you can only run for so long. The monsters have much more agility than you, so you have no choice but to quickly halt your movements, turning around and facing them head on. Running gave you a slight advantage, some of the monsters have yet to catch up, making the crowd you’re currently facing not as large. But, it was still a lot. You still couldn’t count the amount of monsters that loomed before you, though you were slightly grateful when you realize they will go in waves—not all at once. It made you slightly relieved, but that didn’t guarantee your survival. You only have so much stamina.

You grip your sword, lifting it to guard your face before you take a deep breath, facing the first wave of monsters that run your way.

Percy cuts through the third wave of monsters. He feels as if his arm is getting too heavy, the amount of monsters he has killed in the past twenty minutes is overwhelming. He glanced over his shoulder, hoping to find you in the spot he saw you last in. He has to whip his head back over his shoulder when he realizes you are in fact not there. 

Where were you? Percy’s mind immediately jumped to the worst possible outcome, that you had been taken away by the monsters, being held captive until they finally defeated Percy. Percy couldn’t help what happened next. Well, he could’ve. But he didn’t stop the rage that began bubbling in his chest, quickly rising as he faced the next two waves of monsters. He hadn’t even lifted his sword, the amount of sheer pure power he summoned was enough to kill the monsters, leaving him alone on the field. He wasn’t sure where the power came from, there was no body of water nearby. He didn’t question it, nor did he care. All that mattered was that he finds you.

“Y/N?” He screamed out from his spot on the field, panic overtaking the rage for a moment.

He whips his head around, anxiously looking around. Gods, he hadn’t realized how large the battlefield actually was. You could be anywhere, maybe even dying, and he had no idea where you were or how to get to you. Percy’s heart is beating like a scared small animal, and he becomes acutely aware panicking will get him nowhere. Panicking will not save you. He takes a deep breath, willing his heart rate to calm down. He opens his eyes, analyzing his surroundings as he forms a quick plan.

Maybe he should’ve asked where the monsters had taken you before murdering them, but that didn’t stop Percy. He took off in a run, not sure where he was going, running on pure impulse. He finds himself in a new area of the battlefield, an area that he would’ve never seen earlier. He wasn’t sure why he went in this direction, but he always acted on his gut. And right now, his gut is screaming at him to go here. Out of pure desperation and rage, he listens. In the distance, he saw a large crowd of monsters, clearly surrounding something. Or someone. 

Percy began eating up the distance between himself and the crowd of monsters, and once he was close enough, he finally saw what they were surrounding—you. 

“Y/N,” this time, his voice didn’t come out panicky. He was enraged that these things had the audacity to try to harm you. There were here for him, gods dammit. He was not going to let you pay for his existence, even if you were a demigod as well.

Percy didn’t pay attention to the fact that you were perfectly fine. In fact, you were holding your own against the monsters that were swarming you. No, that didn’t stop the rage continuing to bubble in his chest. He needed an outlet, now. And luckily for Percy, there were two dozen monsters just begging to be used. 

There was no body of water nearby. Nothing to give the son of Poseidon an advantage against the monsters. He sensed the moisture in the dirt below him, channeling into it as he watches droplets of water rise from the ground. It forms a large water bubble around him, seeping into his skin as he feels himself becoming stronger. The cuts that had ended up on his arms were healing, he had newfound energy, and his limbs no longer felt heavy.

A scream from behind the thick crowd of monsters broke your focus. It also distracted the monsters around you, all of their ugly heads turning around to the noise. The scream sounded familiar, it sounded like Percy’s. It wasn’t a scream of pain, it was a battle cry.

The next two minutes were an absolute blur for Percy. All he saw was red, Riptide having a mind of its own as he destroyed monster after monster. His movements and strength didn’t falter, taking pleasure in killing every single monster that dared to touch you. Nobody touches his girl. He didn’t care what damage he was doing, as long as you were okay—that is all that was running through Percy’s head in that moment.

It wasn’t until there were no monsters left that Percy felt the repercussions of his fighting. He was breathing hard, slightly slouching as he tried to regain his breath. A new layer of sweat coated his body, making him feel disgusting and making him want to go back to his cabin to shower. Preferably with you. Percy’s gaze falls onto you, his hardened eyes softening when he sees how wide-eyed you are.

Those two minutes made your body still. Your mouth was slightly agape as you watched Percy slash monster after monster, not caring what type of position he was in. You couldn’t even analyze to see where he was vulnerable, that is how shell-shocked you were. You’ve seen your boyfriend in battle before, sure, but not like this. It was like he was a rabid animal, unable to stop himself until every monster was cleared. 

Your widened eyes met his hardened ones, you could barely see any of the beautiful sea-green eyes you’ve grown to love. You may have been shocked by his actions, but you weren’t scared. If anything, it made your heart melt at the way he went crazy to protect you. You step forward until your feet planted themselves in front of him. His eyes didn’t leave yours the entire time, waiting to see what you’d do.

Your hands reach up, cupping Percy’s jaw. Slowly, but surely, you begin to see more of his beautiful eyes, smiling at the sight. You caress his cheeks, watching as he leans into your touch, sighing out.

“I thought—“ he begins, but you instantly understand. He had thought you were in genuine danger, and acted on impulse.

“I’m okay,” you reassure him, forcing him to look into your eyes. “A couple of monsters don’t have anything on me. Or you, apparently.”

A dry chuckle escapes his chapped lips from your attempt at a joke, his arms coming to rest on your hips. He dryly swallows, resting his forehead against your own. You breath him in, smelling sweat and the constant faint smell of ocean water on him. No matter where he was, he always smelled like ocean water, and that might be one of your favorite things about him.

“I thought they had taken you hostage or something,” Percy chuckles at the idea, watching your lips form into a grin.

You giggle, “I’d be a pretty good damsel in distress, wouldn’t I?”

His arms tighten around you, pulling your body flush against his. “You’d be a gorgeous damsel in distress.”

You watch as his eyes flicker down to your lips before returning to your eyes, watching as you admire his sea-green eyes. You keep him in a staring contest, something you force him into too many times, especially when you are cuddling in the solace of Cabin 3. 

Eventually, you give in, winding your arms around his neck as you pull him towards you, kissing his chapped lips. You didn’t mind, it was your Percy after all. He smiles into the kiss, tilting his head to the side to deepen it. You giggle at his antics, slightly breaking the kiss. He kisses the corners of your mouth before littering kisses all over your cheeks and nose, and finally ending with a tender kiss to your forehead.

“Happy?” You giggle, smiling adoringly at the love of your life.

“Always with you, my damsel.” He answers, engulfing you in one last hug. 

Maybe you could get used to Percy going crazy over your safety.

Title and vibe fit the ‘baptism of blood’ scene, which for me is probably the scariest and most heartbreaking thing that happens in the book. Plus I think the lyric “Identical words, how they feel brand new against different time frames” fits the way Dracula twists quotes from the Bible

Yeah it’s kinda cheating because I’m just stealing the emotional context of The Adventure Zone. But again, it just fits! The soft, peaceful, bittersweet epilogue. The well earned happy ending. To me, Jonathan’s final note is the most important part of the book. It shows us that the characters truly did win because they were able to live on and find happiness. Gah I really can’t read it without tearing up

When the opening scene showed Lahore, Pakistan, my sister and I burst out laughing because OF COURSE. Bollywood making Pakistani Muslims the bad guys?GROUNDBREAKING! 🙄

I was a bit nervous because I thought the film would be super nationalistic and anti-Pakistan because I did NOT spend $30 to watch desh bakht shit. But I’m glad it wasn’t like that because so many films in this genre are. Like, stop fucking preaching and being annoying.

SRK was absolutely fucking delicious. Each look was better than the last. There’s just something about a dirty, scrungly looking man and he made me weak af. Watching Besharam Rang on the big screen and seeing him shirtless? Especially when he ran to Deepika’s room looking like THAT? Whew! I was literally feeling like a dog in heat lmaoooo

His hairstyle was giving off Eren Jaeger vibes 1000% and that’s all I could think about.

Pathaan’s backstory about Afghanistan was really sweet and wholesome. I love how they all helped him in the end, because I kind of had a feeling that’s what was going on.

John Abraham as Jim, oh my godddd. He was so sexy and played a great villain. I’m so glad he’s lean again because that super muscular, beefcake look he had going on for a few years was not attractive. I felt really sorry for Jim and what happened to him. It was understandable why he became a villain. I thought it was an interesting detail that he basically had no loyalty to any country and was doing it for a personal reason instead.

I like that she played a Pakistani character and how just because someone from her country is bad, doesn’t mean everyone else is and she doesn’t consider his actions as something Pakistan as a whole is doing/agrees with. Basically that guy alone is an extremist and she would never condone his actions because she actually loves her country just like Pathaan loves his. The way the Besharam Rang lyrics literally described her character and motives, I was shook.

Bts voice analysis anon here! I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to respond ❤ it made complete sense why yoongi is the deepest I kinda feel bad for him everytime he wants to sounds cheerful or speak in a way so people can hear him he strains his voice

lot to talk about, i’d like to expand on this. especially what his voice being the deepest means for bts’ songs. plus, where his undiscovered vocal talents are, and in what manner his voice will not strain.

that he’s very introverted contributes to what you say, but yoongi is certainly the odd one out voice-wise, such low baritones hardly sound upbeat. similar to how taehyung being the odd one out in the vocal line whose head voices are literal superpowers. i really respect him for singing with jin and jimin who can climb one octave higher than him, up to C#5! and with jk who has the best technique and breaks into the 6th octave if he goes on like that.

it’s very much like yoongi who probably has to mix their tracks back and forth to fit his parts with hobi (who is a tenor as a rapper! — very uncommon) and namjoon who raps in several modes. very low, very high, very impactfully. he’s the most full-bodied baritone in the group even if he’s only the third-deepest. the tone is just so rich. both hoseok and RM are extreme vocal chameleons on top of that. in speaking and in their music you can hear the difference to yoongi all the time. they don’t suddenly drop in pitch and they’re vocal acrobats.

hobi in particular, this guy can do anything. the sheer agility my god, he connects his registers. he can go up and down, impersonate and do a million effects, adlibs, you know the drill. it’s him who actually owns the “cheerful/loud and clear” brand you mention. which is good if not fantastic for yoongi’s production endeavours, the group mood, and how bts cannot be ignored — but tough for yoongi’s voice and comparison thinking, and when he tries to make a point in interviews. maybe it’s not bad that bts have to slow down sometimes to let yoongi speak, but his tone is drowned out (not intentionally of course) in other occasions and he wakes up hoarse often as we saw. which might sound hot, but it’s not good for him as you say.

to be clear. i wouldn’t chalk down his more monotonous and silent tone as a weakness, it’s just outside of bts’ other vocal variety. he makes up for it with speed and good lungs anyway. we just have to listen more closely to him in talks/episodes/conferences but i think he shouldn’t worry about it either or try to sound more enthusiastic, the fans love his soothing speech for its pure sake. he does change it regardless to be more poignant and blend in. it has pros and cons but it wears him out.

yoongi’s voice is under that strain not just in conversation but also in the studio if he wants to bring connection to the rap line parts instead of having 3 songs in 1. which usually ends up happening anyway. that’s also why the cyphers (!) switch genres mid-song so often: their voices are all strong in different registers! yoongi the lowest, joon midrange, and hoseok up high. 

that’s why cypher pt2 is a HUGE stunt and production masterpiece: hoseok’s part is tuned differently, then other instrumentals start with namjoon. and you can literally hear, okay alright a deep voice is coming! from there it just gets deeper and deeper until yoongi is just rapping over a bass guitar (every baritone’s best friend lmao!). god, please give yoongi a big bassline for his every part. “ugh” is the exact opposite: yoongi has to start too high and namjoon also has problems with the key, only hoseok can fully take off after 1:50 with perfect vocal stability. guess which song is autotuned: it’s not cypher pt2! a 3 in 1 song fuels the rapline in a way where they are most comfortable. it’s crazy how far apart they are among each other vocally and it has to be considered.

it’s a dilemma but also why bts’ rap line can tackle any song with at least one member suiting it. they complement each other, every register (except the rare whistle register, aka what mariah/ariana do) is covered. i think that contributed to bts’ fame, it’s so important. however usually, the song caters to hoseok since tenors are preferred in kpop music, or it caters to RM as he’s the central songwriting entity even if mind you, he always thinks about all the members and works closely with yoongi.

but even with joon’s support, it doesn’t work if yoongi is caught in his wish to be a tenor. we’ve seen how much the guy talks about wanting his range to become wider and how he even tried singing quite high for his standards on d-2. he goes as far as collabing only with sopranos to help him achieve that pitch. yoongi is invested to pretty much change his entire vocal type 🙁because the environment simps for high notes so bad (which is fair, falsetto is related to releasing certain happy hormones and highlights parts in songs, but still).

... he actually can’t, unless he wants to damage his throat. that’s the last thing we want. a listener can get the serotonin from a very deep voice equally if they got good taste.

thing is. you cannot morph yourself into a different vocal type and shift your range to the opposite of your comfort zone unless you’re whitney houston. even one in a million tenors like baekhyun can’t make themselves a baritone. his lowest notes are less clear no matter how hard he practices, even if his chest voice is almost operatic and his technique excels. meanwhile, chanyeol (who’s a lyric baritone and exo’s deepest voice) effortlessly hits them without (!!) that kind of decade-long training. have baekhyun or jimin been called bad singers for not being able to cover the other end of the spectrum? nope. so: why would yoongi be a bad vocalist who needs autotune. with lessons, oh man, he could do a lot and many things he dreams of. he has a very unique timbre and enough musical knowledge to do so.

so, we see the magic of your natural supported range. it’s simply given to you. imagine that: if you know you’re not a tenor, you could sort of outsing jungkook — obviously not by technique, but projection— as long as the song is tailored to you and the notes are low enough. yep, jk’s lower register is not extremely forward. each note is perfectly sung because he’s jk, but his power vocals are settled much higher. joon/tae/yoongi would sound much fuller with huge oomph in those lines. that’s where yoongi would be much more clear-sounding to us. a lot of baritone rappers in kpop would be damn good singers. 

that’s why it’s good how a lot of rappers produce solos on their own so they can try it out. 

you just have to respect that your range usually (not always) goes in one direction. once yoongi rightfully decides to abandon his high note fantasy and goes lower just for fun, we are not safe anymore lmao! exception for range: female singers have an advantage there. trained mezzo-sopranos have great access to the head voice and lower registers since they’re in the perfect middle of the scale. but the guys, forget it, even the baritenors. yoongi’s fullest voice will always be coming from a chesty depth and we love him for it. guy just needs to realize.

that’s why his real challenge is rather somehow tweaking the rap parts so his voice finds good resonance like in “혼술” or even “ddaeng”. where his voice is strong, relaxed, and full and flowing. ddaeng — “boy with luv”, too— is ironically in a very high pitch and again caters to hobi’s tone the most, but: yoongi just scales down to his own octave and it still fits, so — great key choice and musicality! and adaptation. it’s not easy to do. you can tell he plays piano.

he either becomes less easy on the ear or has to autotune himself entirely if he works against his voice. or: goes on a track way outside his supported range (dynamite, WOW). it’s a shame. “daechwita” and “agust d” are such a case: both go into the head voice where your resonance should show the most aka the chorus. there are aggressive belts/snarls/shouts that make more sense for higher, trained voices. yoongi is most famous for raps that are literally designed to fuck up his vocal cords 😷that he’s so skilled as a rapper prevents him from that to a degree, but it’s still not healthy. he adapts a lot to bts’ overall delivery but he doesn’t have to, in fact: he could go in the other direction and it would work even better.

the reason for the title track issue: they are the most energetic. in k-pop, energetic means amping up the pitch. and that’s probably a logical choice and a natural human association. if you make a baritone kpop track with a lot of energy, it probably becomes pretty creepy, uneasy, film noir. but i think that’s exactly yoongi’s thing: to unsettle and critique and rage. i think it could work out. lil nas x is a baritone pulling it off. he achieves energetic title tracks, he honors his vocal type well imo. his live singing is cool af, i need this so hard in the rap landscape. so, it’s not impossible to do.

the trick is probably setting everything to minor key. surprise... yoongi’s challenging title tracks are all in major key. boy with luv: minor key, interesting. the former are extremely difficult for him to do so hats off. “shadow” is more suitable for his baritone as is “burn it”. it needs a very heavy, dark track. which is why it’s good that yoongi has that kind of public image. a baritone’s best genre is not super light and whimsical. that’s why all of our baritone faves are not main vocalists but main rappers. kai, taehyung, jaehyun: low voices in vocal lines are soldiers.

now a note on yoongi’s best method of singing since it reflects his voice type and brings out the fullness of it. as in, how does it crack and strain less? guess why “사람” is yoongi’s favorite d-2 song to sing. it’s ALL his comfortable range and the singing — very beautifully done —  is in mixed register (= head + chest)! which imo might be his secret weapon. it allows him to do what he longs to do successfuly without going extremely high. bingo.

because: even with baritones, the golden middle is still important. they’re not as deep as a bass, after all. that’s why their voices are so honey-laced in the mixed range and it sounds amazing. heaven, their timbre sounds so seductive. so, it’s wonderful when they find their middle and dare to sing. 

i wish yoongi gets/makes more tracks aimed at just that. in “outro tear” he has to go both too low and too high so it takes a lot of production effort to patch it together. the rapline is doing god’s work to make all their voices sound cohesive without being trained singers. it’s always a trade-off and risk, an immense balance act. “paldogangsan” is hard on yoongi’s voice but works as a whole plus it caters to namjoon to carry the song’s message. the cyphers are chopped up and not chart-friendly but each member is in their comfort zone. 

PS: i said bts’ rap line covers all registers except one. i think that jin is the one to complete bts’ entire spectrum coming from the vocal line. i’m no whistle note expert but dionysus went pretty high up there, i think he might be able to do it. it’s very impressive, even jungkook and jimin probably don’t have access to that register. so, another point for bts being a very ‘complete’ group.

Over the moon very messy review (spoilers)

I wasn’t really planning on watching it today but it was so praised on my pot early on that i just had too

And..... I’m confused...

It has some VERY good scenes, plot points, characters, songs, sceneries and some VERY bad scenes, plot points, characters, songs, lyrics and sceneries

I wanted to start by being positive but this whole thing got mixed up

So here’s my thoughts:

- loved chang’e (i gotta google this cause i thought it was chungha like.... chungha the idol). Love her design, love her voice, love her attitude. Best character, never boring. Tall as fuck goddess. She’s right there with eris from sinbad. Muah kisses the chef. Her hair, makeup, outfits, facial expressions. Idk if the voice actress is the same for speaking and singing but the singer from Hamilton is so so good, she made me not mind the godawful lyrics. I wanted more screen time for her cause she honestly saved the movie

- the protagonist girl fei fei is a bit of a positive and negative of the movie. She’s cute but very cliche. There’s 273648 characters like her. Her problems are very real and relatable but u cant just help sigh and think of her as a dramatic teenager u know? I do feel bad and see my teenage self in her cause i do understand but.... shes super dramatic still. I mean.... she went to the fucking moon to avoid her father getting married shes crazy. She went to all that trouble to learn how to make a rocket just to avoid him remarrying... i understand the frustration one might feel, it never happened to me but if it did id probably have very mixed and selfish feelings about it too, but her and the father really should have just talked. A simple conversation would have let her know that he’s lonely but never ever would forget the mother. And the father had time, he just didnt do it so the fault is not all on her. But i guess there would be no movie if they talked, would there?

- the motivations in this movie dont make sense or are just weak.... fei fei wants to build a rocket to the moon to avoid her father from remarrying? Dumb. She wants a pic as proof? Dumb. The brother wants the pic to help the sister? Ok... but he’s literally an 8 year old, they dont give a shit about none of that specially one that just met u. Chang’e wants the gift which is understandable but... why the potion?? Literally just to give the bunnies a love plot thats dumb af. Also, did she really took both immortal pills or whatever it was? It was implied multiple times that she was selfish but idk if she cleared that out

-i loved the Chinese town. Super cozy and friendly. Love how the river is so integral to it like in real life i assume. It’s just so different from the ocident i love it. Please more movies featured in Asia cause they have many gorgeous cultures. I love the sense of community and family, the little details and the food aspect of it. I love how Asian countries combine modern with old so much so that atsome point i didnt really know what year the movie was supposed to be set in.

- the “pre meeting step mother” part of the movie was the best along with chang’e’s scenes. I almost cried even tho the moment the mother fell i knew she was gonna die. I’m getting very emotional with these scenes as i get older even tho both my parents are still alive but i guess those scenes just make me think about when the worse will happen and i dont wanna think of it of course. But the mother was so great and kind. I really felt their bond and love between mother and daughter. And father but u know.

- the bunny was so fucking cute!!!! Until...... it gained super powers and decided to stay with the ugly green love interest?? Wtf... like wtf that was so unnecessary??? A love plot for the bunnies?? Why??? Whyyyyyyyyyyy

- the moon city wasn’t anything special... apart from shiny it was very bland. I wish they had kept more of Chinese culture in it but i did see something on chang’e’s room i think

- every single comic refiro in this movie was BEYOND THE MOON ANNOYING!!!!!!! I understand, even tho i dont aprove it, the existence of the annoying ass 8 year old brother.... BUT THE GREEN DOG TOO???? WHYWHYWHYWHY AND HE SINGS??? NO SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!!! He had a cute design but everytime he was there and opened his mouth i just wanted to shoot him I’m not kidding i hate him! NOT TO MENTION that he basically did the relationship development between the siblings in the brothers place!!!! Why does the dog exist????? Fei fei should have bounded in the adventure with the brother!!!! Oh i hated that so much..... I’m so mad.... without the green dog the movie wouldn’t have these weak as hell points

- the ending where the lover fades was ok but just ok. I feel like it was either too rushed and he was disappearing before i even noticed and before he even said anything meaningful or it should have been like the one in onward. It just had little impact imo

- the songs have GREAT VOCALS, the singers are definitely the best part, catchy instrumentals, even tho I’m starting to agree that these movies rely too much on pop songs and not actually musical worthy songs, and the lyrics are bad, really bad.... corny too. So basically about the songs: great vocals, ok instrumentals, bad lyrics. But I’m sure ill rewatch chang’e’s songs cause i love her. Maybe the songs will grow on me with time who knows

- the humor is very modern and i just dont think it fits these kind of movies... the same happened with Moana. It just doesn’t fit the epic adventure with gods vibe i think? It’s also just bad. The comic reliefs were annoying, there’s really no other word, but even the humor from other characters or scenes didnt work

- there’s some very inventive animation here, i loved how they used 2d art even tho i wanted more of it. I love glen keane and how his art style translated. I feel like we can see a bit of him on his disney work but here it just really looked like his art u know? Really good

- i dont like the “the movie had a good message so its good” kind of thought cause many terrible movies have great messages and many great movies have repetitive messages. I thought the message in this movie was a bit repetitive but what made it different for me was that both characters were grieving the loss of different loves, motherly and romantic, and yet they were feeling the same and had to help each other and move on. I dread the day that comes for me. It was nice for fei fei to feel she wasn’t the only one with that pain even tho she just had to move on if she was.

Ok so i think thats it

I think this review i came out too negative but I’m just really torn. There’s some parts of this movie that I couldn’t get enough of and, unfortunately, other parts that were making me wanna turn it off.... i could have ignored the cliches but the 2 very annoying comic characters were too damn much

But i think the positives outweigh the negatives even so

I think I’ll give it a 6/10 or 6.5

Klaus is still my fave animated Netflix movie

5. the truth is right here fun edit - I feel like it only speaks the truth and we can all agree with it.

6. the stunning agent dana scully edit - I LOVED editing this, she looks so f*cking gorgeous and I'm very happy and glad a lot of people seemed to enjoy this edit (I always read the tags ppl post on my edits).

7. the unnatural ending scene gifset - this was painful to make but for some reason it was one of my favorite gifsets. This scene is everything.

8. why did he stop trying? short fic - this was the first fic I wrote (and the only so far) and I was brand new to the fandom. I'm happy that I was capable of writing this and some people enjoyed.

The chains that holding back Hoshi and Minghao tally to lyric about hardship endured during summer and rainy days. Or, i personally would think the chains are actually roots. I mean trees are rooted right?

Minghao and Hoshi’s intimate dance, notice that Hoshi is stretching out like a branch while Minghao’s twisting upwards to signify growth

A flash of Minghao and Hoshi’s dance that they are on the ground look like struggling it maybe symbolise bud growing out from the soil.

Wonwoo chained, i will express this further in the wonhui moment later

Woozi with Color stripes? looks like he is an artist struggling to express what it is his ideal of beautiful. It tally to lyrics and his life as producer and songwriter (PS : Black hair woozi majestic af)

Also I noticed that they Woozi 2 items, paintbrush and camera. Both are art producing tools, does it signifies Woozi capable to play instrument, songwriting and dance and sing? I think so.

Joshua being caved in a room. And Joshua have band aid on his face with small flower stick to his cheek. I have 2 ideas on this.

1. Hoshi’s lyrics “Wound will heal and bud will grow”

2.  If the MV is an AU of SVT, Joshua’s appearance might considered an mutant and then he locked himself away. Noticed how the room was all pieces that got shattered, he must have broken them to express his anger. To elaborate further, Joshua is the one of the foreigner in the group his culture is definitely different, who knows it tally to him struggling to fit in and worrying about if he is the weird one. In short, self doubt making oneself ignoring own beauty wtihhin  (Chinaline are foreigner too but I am talking about East and West Culture)

Seungcheol one was *deep breath. Idk I resonated alot. I do know this MV was filmed before he took rest from his activities, but him with white cloths surrounding and covering him from surroundings symbolise his hardships as a leader so much to me. It’s kinda like packaging up yourself so that others does not see the fragile side or yours. Just because being fragile/ having mental illness/ being weak is not mainstream enough. Also SeungCheol with his lines tally to SVT enduring trainee hardships so that they could debut and meet us Carats.

DK’s scene. I am not sure about this, but notice he is standing at center and globes are circulating around him. I hope I am wrong it signifies loneliness alot to me. Yes i do have friends or people around me but they dont really understand me and does not see me through aka does not really see the beauty. Or what if the globe are not friends, rather than those online backlashing  and evil commenting people?

Also DK scene seems to be the same set as Dino’s. what if globe are the hyungs? lmao. BUT in Dino’s scene we did not see globe 

Or if we wanna bring it deeper SVT, DK = SVT = idol and the globe orbiting are normal civilians/netizen.

Vernon’s scene somewhat reminds me of Thanks MV when they are in a room doing makeup lol. Maybe its the color scheme. Notice that Vernon also have flower growing from his hand. Tally to Vernon’s Korean-American blood in him. So for now English speaking line have flower growing from their body parts. ALSO THEIR ROOMS ARE CONNECTED!!!! (Camera work or editing  but omg)

Jun scene again i will express it during the wonhui scene. But to mention a bit, I am sure Jun = flower at this point. welp he is beauty he is grace XD.

Jeonghan being the angel chained was ommfph!!! I cannot wait for From of Therapy to react to this lol. I am think Jeonghan’s role in here is truly a fallen angel with his wings got vanished for some reason or whatever. So Angel without wings, still beautiful mainstreamly? Not quite. But still beautiful.

Mingyu on a plank with flowers around him. He is visual of the group after all do we need more elaboration?? lmao. But notice that the plank have noting to support on, its floating. So to me it kinda felt like South korea boy band industry rapid growth and such. His good looks of course is not going to stay or being talked as a topic forever. Visuals are not necessarily everything. OF course I am overeading on this but discussion are welcome.

Seungkwan scene, omg I cannot believe how simple yet beautiful it is. The message that I resonated was simple. As Seungkwan went through diet and exercise and health control with vitamins, I think he is admiring and has his own ideals of “beautiful”. He is holding the flowers dearly and also tightly, signifies his stubborn and dedication to be like the “beautiful= flower”

Ah mirror/reflecting glass, this is why I felt it is an aftermath of Fear MV. From Fear lyrics of fearing what I am, to embracing own beauty as flaw makes a part of it too. But the mirror thingy then turns to things for them to step. So, stepping your ownself/accepting your own self? i guess??

Mingyu having a flower shower is soft but rude af, also title callback

ALAS THE WONHUI MOMENT. So I mentioned Jun = falling flower/petals of sakura or other , so in my opinion Wonwoo = soil/ground. Notice that Wonwoo in earlier scene is holding to some dusts. For me it symbolise sakura/petals rot and turns to dust while the ground could only watch it fades away. Hence the whole Wonwoo’s angst acting on earlier scenes but when he saw Jun his expression got gentler. It is kinda like an annual rendezvous thing, “Hi! its been a year~!”  “I told you I will be back again *smiles”

That is why i felt it is a lowkey Wonhui fic, well played.

Them boys all gathering as one symbolise they got out of their shell (their respective scene = shell) and embrace beauty, making a LARGER PICTURE OF BEAUTIFUL.  yes I am implying SVT = BEAUTY here.

In short our boys are all beautiful entities, and thank you destiny making them gathered together to be as one group.

Ahaha. Here I am again with sharing another vid of this same bloody song with meta pasted alongside it. It’s weird how so often my gut feelings over a show ended up hitting right on target. 

Like in some other vid comment I said that this song was practically Hyungbin/Soohyuk suffering song. In which few others also agree/had the same opinion and few others argued that it’s not. Since the song appeared in Jongbeom’s scene as well. But now after the drama was concluded and we saw the full picture, there should no longer be any doubts as to whom this song mostly represented. (Like you should watch this vid and look at the lyrics/translations of the lyrics and think about Hyungbin/Soohyuk’s plot throughout the series.)

That said, I might as well do a meta on Hyungbin/Soohyuk now. (Been meaning to do this for a while tbh.)

Since KBSdrama youtube tend to share clips of the current airing drama clips shortly after the episode air, I tend to check the channel out whenever I’m following any certain KBS dramas that I like. And because of that, I tend to read people’s comments as well. Bad habit. There’s something that bothered me a bit about how some people viewed Hyungbin/Soohyuk’s character. Like how they said Hyungbin was an incompetent policeman (for assuming Gong Jicheol the serial killer etc) and how Soohyuk was such a corrupt prosecutor (for having falsified evidence etc) and using that as the reason why they prefered Gong Jicheol/Cheon Jongbeom as their preferred character. While yeah, everyone is allowed to have their preferences I can’t help wanting to defend that Hyungbin/Soohyuk was not the kind of people they think they were.

I mean, how would you expect Hyungbin to figure out the real killer especially when the dude (Gong Inu) was technically ‘dead’ officially? And that time period... there’s still no DNA technology, at most people could test for blood types... as well as fingerprint analysis. And with the many conflicting details (different person who kills, different person to put on the socks on the victim, different(?) person that paints the portraits of the victims...) that didn’t quite make sense, how could Hyungbin figure out who was and wasn’t a suspect? It’s not like Hyungbin was some bigshot cop who had informants all over the place!

(Not to mention the whole how the hell Gong Inu manage to fake his death... but we gonna set that argument aside for now.) With all that already present, making Hyungbin’s investigation a bit problematic to figure out... isn’t it VERY troublesome when you have this kid Gong Jicheol trying to ‘fake’ a new victim, under the pretence of wanting to create a new brain-dead person who could later become a heart donor for Haeeun, by linking his murder to be a part of Gong Inu’s serial murder? Would that be Hyungbin’s fault that Gong Jicheol end up falsely accused for Gong Inu’s murder? While it’s true that Haeeun didn’t exactly see Jicheol murdered the woman, she was there when the woman screamed after being hit by Jicheol, and that salon had only ONE entrance and Jicheol was the only other person inside. What you gonna say about that? Gong Jicheol DID. STILL. MURDERED. A PERSON. And Haeeun ended up having testified for that... albeit under false accusation as it was assumed to be part of a serial murder when it was not.

And this guy also happened to have a big crush on Haeeun and have a habit of shadowing her night and day. And it also happened that Gong Inu was also aware of this crush... and you also have a very carefree Haeeun who still happily carrying around a YELLOW umbrella when a serial murder case with the victim’s being women WITH yellow umbrellas still unresolved. (Oh no... it got Dooly’s picture on it. No dear, IT DOES NOT MATTER!) Do you think, with all this being stacked on Hyungbin’s conscience, that dude will not be EXTRA wary and protective over his girlfriend who happened to have a weak heart and also happened to be the daughter of a couple he inadvertently led to their deaths because of a criminal that he had been chasing after? Do you think that guy will NOT be very frantic when he finds out the stalker that shadowed his gf happened to keep HER UMBRELLA at his home as well as being caught burning the actual keepsake of Gong Inu’s murders in the open??? How on earth would you think that Hyungbin would NOT see Gong Jicheol as a murder suspect? Heck, he was even MURDERED in order to have Gong Jicheol be blamed for his death!

HOW CAN YOU THINK HE WAS INCOMPETENT DETECTIVE WHEN HE’S JUST BEEN INVESTIGATING BASED ONLY ON THE INFORMATION THAT HE HAD AT PRESENT? Also about him initially refusing to have Haeeun testify against Jicheol. Oi, Haeeun had a weak heart. Do you think Hyungbin would want to risk endangering her wellbeing by having her testify at court just so he can get Jicheol jailed? After what happened to her parents?

When Gong Jicheol ran away and try to look for Haeeun, what did you think the first thing that came to his mind? Haeeun’s safety! And he had a reason to be worried. Gong Jicheol did attack the doctor who was checking on him! And we don’t even know if the doctor was only slightly injured or DEAD.

Also on Soohyuk. We were given a brief back story on how Soohyuk’s father ended up suiciding because he felt responsible, due to the fact that the criminal to whom he thought was repenting on their crimes ended up KILLING the witness who testified against them right after they were released from prison. How do you think that incident would’ve affected Soohyuk? As much as his late father had told him to believe in the good of people and that we should give chance for them to redeem themselves, after what happened to his father, do you think he’d trust the words of criminals that claimed to have turn a new leaf and regretted their crimes? Would he ever again trust the words of a criminal? Then, weigh all that to his reason for using unidentified remains and fabricating evidence to make sure all criminals get locked in jail and never again hurt anyone he cared about. Unlike Cheon Seoktae who did it mostly to rise in ranks, Soohyuk just want to keep criminals off the streets. Yes, while his methods may be too extreme... consider this. Can you always know for sure whether someone was innocent or guilty of a crime ESPECIALLY when you don’t have enough evidence/unable to find any evidence because the criminal hid it too well? If you somehow fail to convict a murderer and let them go free, how’d you feel if those criminal create even more victims? Wouldn’t all that guilt haunt you for life afterwards? Then tell me, if you can judge Kim Soohyuk and the people supporting his methods for doing what they did? (The drama DID hint on that tbh, like Dr. Yoo mentioned something about a past case... but we never got to hear about that because the drama sucks on the development of the crime plot.)

Also on the part when Soohyuk shot Jongbeom. That very scene that was almost a parallel between the earlier Hyungbin-Jicheol confrontation. On both situations Hyungbin and Soohyuk was in a state of alarm and panic over Haeeun/Sabin’s safely. And then you have Jicheol/Jongbeom being dodgy AF in between them. And afterwards, both of them made a sudden movement. You think anyone could think long before reacting to the situation? When even ONE SECOND could change between life or death, especially when Soohyuk thought Sabin was hurt (the blood spill from outside, her being tied up, Jongbeom holding a knife and hulking over her menacingly)? And all this could’ve been avoided had Jicheol/Jongbeom just stayed still and disarm himself and allow Hyungbin/Soohyuk to be at ease and be assured that Haeeun/Sabin was safe. Like Jicheol/Jongbeom argued that no one cared to listen to them but on the other hand they also did not bother to listen to others or trust them? So you cannot put all the blame solely on Hyung/Soohyuk for reacting to the situation as is because it’s either that or losing someone they loved. Soohyuk himself had said that the incident was also traumatic to him as well. Meaning he wasn’t also in the calmest state at that time!

Also, I ended up arguing with some other people who still insist that Soohyuk deserved his bad ending because Soohyuk needs to pay for his past sins... even more than Jicheol, and WTH was that LOGIC? As if Hyungbin wasn’t already paying for it by becoming Haeeun’s legal guardian as well as fiancee because of his guilty conscience for indirectly causing Haeeun’s parent’s death to the extent of him having symptoms similar to Haeeun's heart attacks, as well as him being content JUST by seeing Haeeun alive and well thus he ended up going to the extremes in order to protect her. HOW MUCH PUNISHMENT DID YOU WANT THAT POOR FICTIONAL PERSON CARRY?

This should be enough then for Hyungbin/Soohyuk meta. Anything else I’ll just be throwing it all out on my fics. Even if no one would unlikely be reading any of it because of how messed up this drama had been. I need to take a break at writing this. I did BTS even though they aren’t at the very top of my list of ult groups, but do you know who is?... Monsta X and A.C.E. sO GUESS WHO IS DOING THIS WITH MONSTA X BECAUSE NOBODY IS AWAKE TO TELL ME THAT THIS IS GOING TO KILL ME? THAT’S RIGHT. ME.

Hero - Lmfao I get to the very first music video and I am already discouraged because this is going to be so hard. All 7 of these boys have my entire heart. Fuck. Okay. Uh... I want to say Jooheon because this was my very first Monsta X song I ever heard, and it was because him and his red hair drew me in. But I know I will pick him for many other songs, so I am going to try to get strict. I think it has to be Changkyun for this one. His rap verse kills me every single time I hear it. It is SO...SO GOOD. He drew my attention every single time I saw it, before I even know who the boys were.

Runner up: Shownu! His vocals in this song are put out there for all to see, and they really are so beautiful. His high notes are so pretty, his REGULAR notes are so pretty. Astounding.

who wakes up first: Edge, as he got a very set schedule and will wake up at 6 am pretty much every day unless pulled back into bed grumbling but loving it, as he is one big af workaholic, though technically its Rus who wake sup first as he usually only sleep 1-2 hours a night, but after getting together with both Edge and Stretch he begins to sleep much more which he srs need, while Stretch is just unable to wake up like at all unless you like pinch him he is one deep af sleeper and alarms do not work on him. 

who has the weird taste in music: It’s kind of a tie between Rus and Stretch, Rus listens to metal and angsty stuff though it’s not really weird but what is weird is that he rly likes listening to asmr, while Stretch pretty much listens to anything and everything and then listens to the same song on repeat for weeks, doesn’t matter what it is as long as he likes the lyrics, the voice, the actual music he is all for it, Edge is the only like normal kind of ish, he listens to old rock and instrumental, especially instrumental with violins. 

who is more protective: Rus is, he is really fucking protective of the people he really grows to love and care for, but its not in a controlling protectiveness but it’s more in a “I am afraid to lose the only one’s who actually care to put up with a piece of shitty trash like me” and so on, and he easily grows jelly af which is something he needs to work on especially since neither Stretch or Edge will allow such behavior, like some jelly is fine but when it makes you do dumb shit then you need to stop.

Edge is a tiny bit protective, as when I hear the word protective I assume its in more of a bad overprotective way, but for Edge it’s more that he is forced to be more protective than he would like thanks to his status as the royal guard captain/ambassador etc, he got enemies and so in turn he knows people close to him might be used against him, and he will do his best to make sure it never happens. 

who sings in the shower: Stretch absolutely, he listens to the radio as he showers and sings loudly along with any songs he knows, Edge showers too quickly to even think about singing he is a very busy working boy, Rus rarely ever showers because he is nasty trash but when he do there is no singing.

who cries during movies: Edge, he is  really weak for any romantic movies he is seriously weak to them, and so he will cry over them no matter how bad they are. Stretch only tears up when bad stuff happens to animals, while Rus just don’t cry at all. 

who spends the most while out shopping: Stretch, because he is a hoarder and can’t help but buy shit that catches his interests, no matter how useless or shitty it is as long as it catches his eye he will most likely buy it. Edge only buys stuff that is necessary, only sometimes buying things he really wants but happens rarely. While Rus just never have any cash at all as he spends the little he has on cigarettes etc, but when he actually gets a job and starts getting actual money he ends up barely spending them except on like I said earlier, cigarettes, though now also on food and maybe something he think the other two will enjoy, which Stretch and Edge also do bc gifts.  

who kisses more roughly: Rus no butts about it, he really likes it very rough so his kisses are of course usually very rough, and his sharp teeth don’t help either. Edge kiss a bit rough too but mostly because of his sharp teeth, but both of them can kiss softly af tho Rus just usually go rough first and it just depends on how things are gonna proceed if he keeps doing it.  

who is more dominate: It’s a tie between Rus and Edge, like Rus do love to be dominated af but he is also very dominate like even tho also not he is weird, while Edge usually ends up been more dominate by default but he too don’t mind been less so, all my boys are switches af ok, but when it comes to these 3 Rus and Edge are just a bit more dominate than Stretch, who just prefers to go with the flow, but it doesn’t mean he won’t be dominate to time to time too, it all depends on what they all feel like atm etc

my rating of the ship from 1-10: 10/10! It’s a really good ship in my opinion, like there is so many possibilities for drama to happen, for lots of hurt and comfort, for sweet soft stuff to happen, for some boys to heal, adds some spice to stuff too and I just love their overall dynamic, or at least mine tho have read others and they good yeah, that I can recall it’s been awhile since I read any xD but yeah I really like these 3 they just work, even tho Edge’s dislike and trouble with Rus at first is a big problem all 3 will have to work on to get stuff to work, the fact also that Edge is such a workaholic and need to srs take care of himself more, and the fact Rus is trash and has a habit of self sabotaging his own happiness as he consider that he don’t deserve it after the shit he done, and Stretch been overly helpful and chill and a bit unable to say no when ppl ask him for help etc so yeah them boys got it cut out for themselves ye xD

Can you make sense of the gibberish ajw is ranting about Ben and the song Darren sang? Darren sang his friends song, its nice, not some secret message to the CCers! Fucking psychos.

Watching her- and her cohorts- lose their collective shit over Darren’s comments about Ben is rich entertainment because literally nothing he said was inconsistent with previous statements or what was obvious if you were just seeing pics of Darren, Mia and Ben by following D-CrissNews. 

Let’s break it all down:

First the HELP sweater which ajw brought up in this post:

And Tonight, on the final night of LMDC, D threw some series shade singing a song by his platonic roomie Ben/ny. Oh these lyrics, I’d say he is singing to someone very specific while wearing this Help Sweater 

(First I have to bring up the fact that breaking up Be/nny is beyond the usual level of stupidity. His name isn’t Benny-nobody will Google his as “Benny” and stumble on their vial blogs or whatever ridiculous rationale they give for do/ing thi/s). The idea that someone as well connected and well liked as Darren Criss would need to wear a “HELP” graphic on his shirt in order to get aid is.. well pat/hetic....bi/zarre and ridicul/ous. If Darren’s life was so pathetic that he had to resort to sending T-shirt-graphic smoke signals into the world in hopes that random strangers would send help... but remember- THE Contract is unbreakable, unreachable, a NIIIGGGHHHTTTMMMMAAARRRE- so all the “HELP” signal could possibly do is bring attention to his private struggles. Suddenly the entire world would know that what a spineless dwerp that Darren is; he can't even manage to end a contract with a show that has been over for 4 years and he keeps signing contracts for PROMOTION with MIa. 

First of all, he is super private- he even mentions that again during this monologue- he isn’t going to share a HELP signal this way. He know Obama for God’s sake..and Ryan Murphy, and just about everyone in LA. I’m sure he knows a lawyer or two. Second, he’s worn the sweater before and it clearly didn’t bring help so why the hell would he keep wearing it for that reason. Oh, wait, I know... maybe Ryan Murphy saw it and that is why he has taken on Darren as his muse and signed another alleged contract with him because THIS,  THIS is the time he is going to set Darren free. 

Darren pointed out for everyone too obtuse to get the reference (***cough CCers cough****) he wore the Beatles graphic because HE IS IN ENGLAND and at the end of the day, he’s always just a fanboy.

Darren goes on to talk about Ben:  “...I don’t talk about- I don’t post a lot of stuff about my life on the internet but he has been a very dear friend of mine for many, many years, just really close to the fam...he became one of my closets friends and even lived in my house for many years”. 

@ajw’s panties twisted in delight when he said that because she glopped on to the idea that Ben and Mia lived together under Darren’s nose or while Darren’s was with Chris a long time ago. The most obvious point is that Darren is speaking in reverence and sharing a story he admits is something he normally doesn’t share easily. If Ben was Mia’s boy-toy, WHY would Darren talk about him at all? How could he be one of Darren’s closet friends? If Mia is as ever as CCers pretend she is, how could Darren be BFFs with Ben? He would HATE Ben and what he represented..unless he likes being a cuck.  

But conspiracy theory “fact finding” isn’t about what is logical or even makes sense when looked at from a different angle. It is about finding a connection and running with it and  illuminate CrissColfer confirmed.

I cannot imagine how Darren, playing Ben’s song in Birmingham is “shade”...maybe the tinhatters need to look up the meaning of “shade”. Choosing Ben’s song was done to honor Ben, and we know that because he talked about it before he started singing!

Um...he already told us this...and none of us cared. Whether Darren had a friend crash when they are in town or not is irrelevant to me. You know what the best part about B is. D is totally free to chat about his platonic roomie. Because M&B created this monster all on their own by shoving their relationship and living situation in fans’ faces for years as they are so narcissistic they thought they could get away with it. All the while laughing at the stans. And at d who was powerless to do anything about it.

And as a result of their idiocy, d has free reign to shade the biggest obstacle in the m/iarren narrative. The 30something year old, successful, wealthy musician that lived in his house for many, many, years.

Soooo she believes that if Darren was powerless; being played by Mia and Ben he would not only share stories of that with the world but would call Ben "one of my best friends” and “part of the fam”?
