I think I might know what'll happen with episode 6
So, I've mentioned this before, but spooky month episodes tend to have 2 plots going on at the same time. Plot A is always what Skid and Pump are doing, and the B plot is usually to do with the other people in town, such as Lila, Kevin or the cops. These two plots always come and merge into one by the end of the episode
For example, in Unwanted Guest, the A plot is Skid and Pump buying a Happy Fella, going to the hospital, meeting the Hatzgang there, etc, whilst the B plot is Dexter being killed by Moloch and him attacking Lila, they merge when Skid and Pump walk into Skid's house and Eyes (through Pump) tells him to snap his own neck
In Deadly Smiles, the A plot is, again, S&P shenanigans, playing the knife game with Dexter and then going to the cinema, noticing the doll is missing, and then going to ask Kevin for help, and the B plot is the Happy Fella attacking the thieves, Frank and Kevin. These merge, again, when Skid and Pump enter Skid's house, and Dexter freaks out over the idea of having to spend forever with the kids
BUT. In Tender Treats, it's all to do with the cops, Jack and John. They even appear before Skid and Pump! They're the first guys we see, talking to Mayor Evermore. Maybe this means they're at almost the same level of importance as S&P in the show (I mean they're very VERY clearly parallels to the spooky kids, visually and personality wise), and they (John specifically) are starting off the cult storyline, which is the #1 most important plot point because it's the reason everything is happening, and will eventually lead to the Skiddad shit
And, who's a very close character to Jack and John that we know for a fact will have a main focus in this episode?
PATTY
I'm pretty sure the A plot will be with whatever Skid and Pump are doing with Father Gregor and then the B plot is with the cops figuring what the fuck happened to Patty, and getting in Gregor to do an exorcism, which is the point where plot A (S&P + Gregor) and plot B (Patty, Moloch, the cops) merge into one at the end of the episode
Now I just need to figure out what Kevin's gonna be doing with the 8 minutes of voiced lines he has
Maybe I'm not done with the Candy Dealer theory yet
#fun fact i have all 5 episodes completely memorised and can recall every detail about them without watching them#mostly to theorise#but also because I've watched them so much#the one i forget the most about is The Stars because not much happens and it's kinda before the show had a set formula to it (e.g no b plot#i feel so smart rn#using all these big words and explanations#it's a shame i know for a fact every word of what i said is wrong#because this is a show by Sr Pelo

I find it incredibly funny seeing some fans complain that the movie wasn't "lore accurate" as if FNAF has ever been consistent with its lore, like
Wow, the movie changes a lot of stuff and is not accurate to what we thought we knew? *looks at The Silver Eyes trilogy* I can't believe that, how horrible *looks at The Silver Eyes trilogy* Who would've thought they'd change stuff that makes us doubt what we know about the series *looks at the fourth fucking closet*
#five nights at freddy's#fnaf#five nights at freddy's movie#fnaf movie#five nights at freddy's movie spoilers#fnaf movie spoilers#like come on guys we knew this was gonna happen#so what if the characters aren't exactly how they are in the games?#(or how we theorise them to be)#that's classic fnaf storytelling at this point#instead of getting mad that certain points weren't like the game understand the movie like the original books#parallel timeline where things aren't like the games#but some events mirror each other so you can get new details and perspectives to stuff you thought you knew#you need to know the games lore to fully understand the movie#so why wouldn't the movie also have something to offer to the games lore like they've always done?#we just need to figure out what#or not and just enjoy the movie#FNaF is not the kind of media that needs a 100% faithful adaptation#mostly because its impossible with how confusing and convoluted the story is#so just. you know. get your popcorn and have fun#i promise it's a lot better when you have that mindset#soratsu speaks

Interesting details from the Day 6 promo:

‘WILL MEAT A GAIN’ is of course a reference to ‘We’ll Meet Again’.
(Not so sure about ‘Good Tom’s Meg’ lol…)
…

Is this a reference to ‘William’, Ford’s favourite constellation?:
Or could it also be a reference to the AMA, and how Bill would respond to every variation of his name under the sun.
…

The Saga continues…These promos do appear to be incredibly Ford-centric. I mean, on Day 6, we got The Song again, and an arrow pointing specifically at the number ‘six’…It’s both a reference to the countdown and…Sixer. (Bill Tries To Be Subtle For Once Challenge)
…

The clouds surrounding the moon also look vaguely triangular in shape.
#sadly I am unable to help out with the decoding at this time#so I’m mostly focusing on the thematic stuff and all of the potential crumbs of lore#gravity falls#the book of bill#book of bill#bill cipher#stanford pines#ford pines#billford#?#speculating and theorising

Im super charmed whenever they include tsukasas corpse inside the freezer its so funny to me ... that man is not in cryostasis he is straight up dead
#Dr stone#i think its interesting actually that senku proposed cryonics because everyone knows its bullshit ... like i turn a blind eye to the scienc#in this series a lot but i think that was the most open use of pseudoscience without any sort of clarification whatsoever... i recall at th#end they might have said something like senku was mostly just preserving the body because he already theorised that de-petrification could#bring dead people to life as long as the body is intact <- or maybe i dreamt this up because i like the show so much that i fill in plot#holes by myself but you know... like on one hand senku did say he was going to kill tsukasa by freezing him but did he actually know to wha#extent... no he MUST have known !!!! He must have known this is one thing i wont budge on he literally must have known that resurrection wa#possible as long as they acquired the petrification tech because otherwise the whole point of that trip was null thats why he wasnt too#surprised when tsukasa told him that hyoga died and came back to life when he got petrified too ... like when he literally got torn to#shreds by a machine gun and stopped breathing and went cold and tsukasa was like oh shittt..... fingers crossed lol#but it would have been nice for senku to be like -_- i already knew .#anyway thats not the point look at tsukasa in the fridge o o

Why I think deltarune will ultimately fail narrative wise; (hear me out here I’m not talking about the game itself or toby I’m referring to the writing and the story)
Part of the reason undertale was so widely successful and amazing was because it came out of nowhere, it was new, no one had any expectations when going into it, so when Toby turned out to be the amazing game creator and writer he is- it shocked the world, and continued to shock the world as no one had ever seen or experienced anything like undertale up till that point, and never will.
but with deltarune, everyone already knows what Toby is capable of- they’ve seen undertale, they know Toby’s style of writing, and they’ve had years to speculate and theorise, thousands of people trying to uncover the lore of deltarune, before it’s even officially released.
What this does is it creates a massive expectation for Toby and his team, and the entire game. A expectation that physically can’t be met.
no matter what they do with deltarune, the community won’t be satisfied, as there’s no element of surprise anymore. The sheer amount of theories and deltarune fans speculating along with undertale fans and the other games reputation makes an impossible task for Toby and his team, and an even more impossible task for the community on the final release of deltarune.
it’s definitely going to be and is an amazing game, but it’s going to ultimately be somewhat predicted or spoiled regardless of what happens. Due to all the people hunting for every little clue they can find
I don’t think it’s physically possible for Toby to surprise us at this point, which is really sad when you think about it.
toby has a shadow over him thanks to undertales success, which is amazing- because the game is amazing and he’s met so many amazing people. And there are so many amazing people in the fandom- but no one can deny the impact this has made on deltarune.
it’s kinda overshadowed by undertale. And I worry it won’t live up to expectations due to the pressure we’ve put the team under to deliver the best game ever.
I just worry that the very thing that makes the ut and deltarune community so alive and great is also going to be its downfall.
with so many theories. It’s only a matter of time before someone accidentally guesses the entire plot of the game. Ruining it for everyone
#I mostly blame Deltarune and undertale fans for taking things too seriously and making theorising a job more than a hobby tho#I just wish people would chill out ig#everyone can be a bit too intense and it’s made by a guy who is ultimately just having fun#so I’d like if the fandom could respect toby a little more and not take everything so seriously#not everything is a three dimensional omega trap card conspiracy yk?#undertale#toby fox#undertale fandom#deltarune#deltarune fandom#deltarune theory#utdr#undertale theory

alright here's the current theory. Roger was genuinely just a dude. Just some guy. He was definitely strong in his own right and had a good ass crew and ship, but what everyone who's known him keeps on saying whenever he's brought up is true - everyone keeps calling him a monster but he really was nothing special, probably very strong but no more than anyone out of the rocks pirates, and definitely no more ruthless. He had honest to god infants on his crew, he was just some guy going on an adventure.
but during Robin's backstory the ohara archeologists say this: the poneglyphs were written to recount the hidden history, and the hidden history is about a war between the world government and an island that is no more. So why would have four of those been used to give the coordinates for laugh tale? because laugh tale is the island the world government was at war with. And Roger found Oden, and read the poneglyphs, and found laugh tale, and that's why the world government called him king of the pirates and made a show of hunting him down and then killing him where everyone could see, because he'd found out the truth they'd been keeping hidden for eight hundred years
so the theory is that his speech right before he died was his last fuck you to the government. He told the whole world that there was a treasure (and there probably is), and that it was on laugh tale, and they could and SHOULD look for it - so now the government killed one dude who found out the truth, but in exchange for that, if before there were only the archaeologists and the particularly curious to worry about, now there's the whole of the ruthless and lawless and fearless and greedy side of the world's population looking for that very same thing they've been doing their best to hide. And that was a very funny thing to do on Roger's part, imho. Like, after that I'd call him king too tbf
#im mostly rereading op to go back and pick up all the little things they said during the years#that seemed inconsequential or made no sense at the time#and that now might give me thoughts to chew on#I like theorising and I love op's lore so this is fun#i have a lot of thoughts about the d and joyboy and what actually the one piece is or where laugh tale is#but I'm only up to water seven in my reread so i still have over half the manga to go before i put those into words#the idea that roger sent generations of gold hungry pirates off on an archaeological expedition is extremely funny to me tho ????#you go man if this is true he really was hilarious#damn right he found his way to an island called laugh tale lol

STS3 like

it's been years and it's still genuinely crazy to me that the first two seasons of stranger things had this throughline where all the bad things that were happening in hawkins were directly caused by the us government and that they were excusing the awful things they were doing to their own citizens (children!) through cold war/red scare reactionism. and then in season three there was a secret russian base under the town mall.
#when it came out i didn't give too much of a shit bc i was like 13#i mean. the inconsistent character writing threw me and i thought the plot was goofy AF but i enjoyed it well enough at the time#but oh my days it was stupid as shit#sorry??? no i'm not#s4 the character writing improved but the plot was still pretty goofy. and SO bloated and drawn out OH MY WORD#i mean at least as of s4 the bad things are once again mostly caused by the US government#if u consider HNL's involvement with henry to be the reason for his... everything#(i have not seen TFS spoilers/summary nor do i give a shit abt it. sorry)#but the russians are still just the russians. just actually in russia. which does make a little more sense i guess#but did we REALLY need to go there??? to the fuckin gulag??? the demogorgon gulag???#when u think about it the demogorgon gulag is just superhell for straight people#i would have taken bigfoot in the stranger things cinematic universe over hopper's adventures in the USSR#when i was doing ET theorising i mainly stuck to byler shit and did not delve into plot predictions#and the reason for that is simply I Don't Wanna Think About It Too Hard Or It'll All Fall Apart#Because It Has The Structural Integrity Of An Emaciated Jenga Tower#its been like half a year since i participated in the fandom i think i can break my silence lmao#i'm secretly a little hater <///3

I think I figured who you mean and I gotta agree their takes are wild (if it's not the same person than some more people need to touch some grass)
The delusions are fun as long as we all stay aware that we simply do not know the reality of any of their private lives. Miles, Alex, Louise, every celebrity curates their public persona.
+ the biphobia is nasty, so here's some pride 🩷💜💙 🩷💜💙
idk if it's the same person but i think it might be. anyway enough talking about that. bisexuality is one of the most beautiful things to ever exist actually 💖💜💙
#and yes agreed that at the end of the day everything we theorise is - indeed - just that. theories#speculation that we have no way of knowing is real or not#and none of these people owe us the truth!#so speculate all you want about people's sexualities as long as it's just in fandom spaces and you're aware it's mostly for fun#also be aware of your own delusions#embrace the delusions. being delusional is fun. just don't be a biphobic/homophobic bitch about it#anyway anon thanks for the positive pride vibes 🫶#answered

Chapter 1
『For we're all that we need』
Disparities Between Our Souls
You were enjoying a peaceful lunch with your husband when you two were transported into your home-universe that you hadn't been in since 5 years ago
Disclaimer: This chapter focuses on Miguel and Reader, Batfam is only implied/mentioned. They will appear next chapter
Prologue <- Chapter 1 -> Chapter 2

The halls of the Spider HQ were big, never failing to amaze you. The abundant amount of spidermen had surprised you when you first woke up here and to find out you were one yourself was even more of a shock.
Never in your life would you have expected to be transported into another world and become some sort of mutant, but you definitely wouldn’t change it. Especially now as you swing to your dear husband’s office.
Miguel O’hara, the leader and founder of the Spider HQ and also the one who chased after a 16 year-old boy. Yep, that was (un)fortunately your man. Thankfully that whole fiasco was over before you even arrived. From what you heard, he eventually ended up realising and coming to terms that canon events weren’t so canon and they could be altered, depending on the universe.
But enough of that. You were here today, swinging around the HQ to deliver your husband some food because you knew he would be busy taking care of the spiderverse—or as he likes to call it, ‘The Arachno-Humanoid Poly Multiverse’— to take care of himself.
With a plate of food in your hands, you swung up to the platform he was on.
“Darling, I have some food for you. Take a break and eat with me?” You asked him.
“Mi corazón, I’m busy, you know this.” He stated, almost groaning but in a teasing way.
“Miguel.” You stood your ground and watched him as he sighed, moving closer to you and pulling the screens closer. Fine, you could compromise with this, as long as he ate. “How have you been, dear? Need any help dealing with the anomalies?”
“No, not now at least. For now, they’ve mostly been in low numbers and the new recruits are usually able to deal with them themselves.”
“Alright then. Any leads as to why they’re still appearing though?”
“Still none. I would’ve hoped that they’d had disappeared when Morales was finally dealt with but they’re still ongoing. Lyla’s theorising something else it at play here and I fear she could be right.”
You stayed quiet, deep in thought. These anomalies were off, something about them had given you the wrong feeling, especially when you were on-field fighting them. You had mentioned it before to Miguel, but you both chalked it up to the fact that in technicality, you were also an anomaly, a similar but also vastly different case to Miles Morales.
“Do you think I’m related to the anomalies in some way?” You blurt out.
“As much as I hate to admit it, it’s most likely.” Your brows furrowed in concern. This further complicated the matter at hand. Being an anomaly yourself meant you were already connected to the others in some way, but if there was any chance that this relationship between you and the anomalies was any deeper, danger was most certainly waiting just around the corner. You two spent the next few moment in silence, slowly processing that possibility.
“Well enough of that. I came here so that you would finally eat, so take some.” You nudged a roll of pandesal towards him, alongside a cup of coffee. You had your own right pair next to you, standing on a makeshift table made of webs.
He sighed before muttering a small thank you under his breath and the smallest smile on his face. Well, you’d take what you could get. You both enjoyed your food and drink in silence as you sat on the ledge of the platform and Miguel continued working. It was a comfortable quiet, unspoken words of love were understood and picked up by the both of you. A small respite in both of your usually chaotic lives.
But as luck would have it, this peace did not last long. You didn’t even have time to finish your food when a portal opened up in front of the platform. You stood up quickly, stance in a fighting position, Miguel also suddenly on alert, his arm in front of you in a protective manner.
Portals were a normal thing for the both of you, an everyday use even. Yet, this was weird. No portal had ever opened up in this room. Most respected the privacy of their leader and always opened the portals outside of his office. That wasn’t even the most off-putting thing. This portal was different, the shapes and colours were all wrong, all different from the ones spawned from the gizmos on your wrists. Yet, it seemed familiar to you. Like you saw it once and then stored it at the back of your mind to forget about it. That couldn’t have been right though, any portals you’ve seen are the ones made by the watch.
You didn’t have time to worry about this though. Danger could be come out of that opening at any moment and you needed to be ready. But danger would not come to you. No. It would pull you into it instead. Quite literally when both you and your husband were tugged into the portal.
The journey through the portal was short, but most certainly not smooth. With being pulled in unexpectedly and the inside itself feeling like it was tossing you around, the landing was rough. It felt like you were picked up and were thrown away carelessly with indifference.
Miguel regained to his feet before you and held out a hand for you to help you stand up. As you oriented to your surroundings, you could feel your blood go cold. The sky was dark, vastly different from the midday sky that you were previously in. Even though it was night, stars didn’t light up the night sky, instead smog filled the skylines. Buildings stood tall, reaching for the sky but always too short. The streets were quiet, like a the silence of a forest when a predator is near. The rain dripping onto your head was the final confirmation.
You were in Gotham.
You were back in the city you grew up in. The city that raised you to be the person you are now. The city you had so many conflicting emotions about. You were not ready for this confrontation. In fact, you might never be.
So, like the coward you were, you quickly pulled your mask back to cover your face and turned to Miguel. He quickly takes the hint and puts his on as well.
“We have to get home. We can’t stay here.” You fiddle with your gizmo, attempting to open a portal back up to the HQ, but nothing. Miguel looked at your struggle and tried to get his own to work as well but it was a futile attempt. Nothing seemed wrong with the gizmos, except for the fact the no portal was opening up. You hoped that everything else was working fine.
Miguel had no knowledge of this strange world. All he knew was that you didn’t want either of you to stay here, and who was he to doubt your words? The situation was alright at first. Yes, it was suspicious that you two were dropped off here by some unknown entity, but there seemed to be no immediate danger and you two could easily open a portal back to the HQ.
At least he thought so.
But when both of your gizmos failed, he could feel worry start seeping in. No, this is fine, he could fix the gizmo. He didn’t have any tools though. What was even wrong with it? It had been working perfectly fine before you were dropped into this foreign universe.
He could see you pacing back and forth on the rooftop you two were on. Although he couldn’t see your face, he knew there was a frown etched onto our face.
“Mi corazón.” He called for you, but you were still in your trance. “Corazón.” He called out a little louder, and still nothing. He quickly gave up on words and walked over to you, softly grabbing your hand to pull you out.
“What?” You snap at him before regretting it almost instantly. You take a big breath and try to calm yourself down. “I’m sorry, I’m just stressed.”
“It’s alright mi vida. Can you tell me what’s got you so worried and where we are?” He spoke to you softly. You take another breath, mentally preparing yourself for the conversation you were about to have.
“We’re in my home universe.”
“Ah.” That was all he needed to know. He had heard enough of your ramblings about your old life to know why you were reacting this way.
“Why isn’t the gizmo working?” You ask, point-blank.
“I’m not sure. Maybe there’s something about this universe that’s stopping us from being able to communicate with the others. I attempted to get in contact with other spidermen but no response.” The Spider HQ must be a mess right now, with the sudden disappearance of their leader. He hoped you two could quickly make it back home or else you two would be coming back to chaos.
You opened your mouth to say something but were interrupted when you felt your spider senses tingling. You could see Miguel’s signature scowl form on his face, it seemed he could hear the danger you were sensing.
You both take a look around at your surroundings, and not too far off into the distance you see a Doc Ock terrorising the poor citizens of Gotham.
No, that wasn’t right. Your universe shouldn’t have a Doc Ock, hell you didn’t have any of the standard spidey villains. There was only one reason for this
An anomaly was in your universe.
Farther into the distance, you could see the bat sign light up the night sky. Shit. You needed to hurry before your family could get to this. You and Miguel looked at each other and nodded. A silent agreement to continue the conversation later and also take this anomaly down as soon as possible.

Another chapter done, yippee! I'm sorry this is focusing more on Reader and Miguel, but I needed to introduce some plot points and it ended up being too long for the batfam to make an appearance
As said in a previous post, I don't speak Spanish, so if those nicknames are cringe or something then please do tell me how to improve it and I will gladly change it
Anyways this has been another busy week. I finished my prepL, took my license photo, started watching the bayverse transformers movies and prepared for the start of the school year on Tues
Speaking of school, I have no idea if that will affect my upload schedule but it most likely won't until a few weeks in.
As per usual, you are free to point out any mistakes. I don't edit my work cuz my ADHD won't allow me to and I don't have a beta reader so I am bound to have some mistakes here and there
Fun fact, my titles (except for the story title) come from songs. The Prologue came from Never Love An Anchor by The Crane Wives and this chapter's came from Abandon Ship by Fin. I recommend you listen to them, they're so good!
Have a great day everyone <3

Omega!Cater x alpha headcanon
Hear me out, what if omega!Cater never liked nesting?
He didn't do it much as a kid, nesting materials are bulky after all, and they are difficult to transport as he moved between places. He's the only omega in the family and while his family tried to facilitate him, they impressed their own understanding on him, rather than actually listening to him.
His sisters and parents got him special cuddly toys and other cutesy stuff, because they were easy to transport, but Cater never actually liked soft toys, and all they did was take up space in transport that he could have used for nesting supplies he actually liked.
Not to mention, without an omega parent, he didn't have a parent's nest to use, and his sisters weren't good about respecting his privacy when he tried to make his own with what he had.
He kept trying for a few years to bring some of his special pieces with him, but eventually he just... stopped trying.
But when he gets to third year at NRC, he decides to try again. Mostly because cute aesthetic nests are super popular on MagiCam. He has his own room now, so why not?
He follows all his favourite trends and makes the coolest looking nest ever! He posts pictures of it all the time, staging hang outs and self-care evenings for his account... but he doesn't actually hang out in there. Whenever he tries... it just feels wrong. He thinks that maybe his childhood killed the instinct, or maybe he just doesn't like it. But he keeps up the façade because it does numbers on MagiCam.
And then one day, he's courting an alpha. He lets them into his nest essentially straight away to take pics of cute couple dates and make everyone jealous. But the alpha notices that something is off, that Cater doesn't actually seem happy or safe inside his nest. Some omegas are really chill about their nests like this, but Cater doesn't feel like he's actually comfortable.
So they decide to do an experiment.
They take him, under the guise of it being a fun relationship challenge, to a nesting shop, but they make him do the shopping blindfolded. He can't see the objects, he can only feel and smell them. Cater ends up with a terrible mismatch of colours and fabrics which he finds hilarious. It's decidedly a haul of not cute materials and things that are way out of fashion and pretty boring but still clashing horribly.
Alpha challenges him to try and make a nest out of these materials and Cater is all for the fun challenge. Each third year dorm comes with a small nesting room, but Cater had his original nest out in the main room, using the smaller room for storage, but alpha prompts him to try and use the nesting room. Cater agrees.
He only takes the base support futons from his original nest, and the rest has to be made only with his new materials. Alpha purposefully keeps their distance at the other side of the room. Eventually Cater shuts himself in while he constructs the nest, not seeming to even be aware of what he's doing.
Eventually, the alpha stops hearing movement from behind the door. But Cater doesn't come out. He's silent.
The alpha knocks on the door to check on him. Cater is dazed and a little overwhelmed, but the only thing pushed out of his mouth is a denial of entry. "You can't come in," he says, and he doesn't know why. He only knows that this is real and safe and no one is allowed in and he'll protect it with his life.
The alpha knows exactly what's happening, it's exactly as they had theorised, and they aren't upset at all at the denial. It was more abnormal for Cater to be so readily inviting them into his nest the first time. This is expected.
Gently, they excuse themselves to go and fetch him some snacks and water, telling him that they'll be right back.
And Cater is just sitting in his new, admittedly ugly nest alone, in a tiny room with no natural light, terrible for photography, with tears falling down his face, and he doesn't know why.
All he knows is that it feels safe and real and hidden and no one but him can see it and no one but the alpha knows it's there at all. And it feels right! Every fabric is right, it's positioned correctly, a little bizarre and haphazardly, but so correctly! Stress pours from him as the tears fall and he's getting hit with all sorts of emotions and chemicals that he's never felt before.
He's left his phone outside. He doesn't even notice.
#my first proper twst headcanon haha please be nice to me#twst#twisted wonderland#cater#cater x reader#omega cater#a/b/o#omegaverse#headcanons

Let's do this then =D First a disclaimer and a bit about my methodology because while the math here is very barebones I want to at least explain what I was doing. Essentially I picked a few ships in different fandoms, calculated the percentage of E and M rated works in the tag, then compared that to the percentage if at least one person in the main pairing is trans, using the "Trans Character A" OR "Trans Character B" filter. I didn't look at non character specific tags such as Trans (Male) Character because I didn't want too many false positives. Since this was part of what I was initially interested in, I then also compared the percentage of mpreg works within those featuring a trans character to the percentage in the ship tag overall. Another note, I'm using the word 'mpreg' because that's inherently what we're talking about, but I found out that only around 20% of works tend to be tagged with 'Mpreg' as opposed to 'Pregnancy', and since that is also the parent tag it's what I had been filtering for. Then, because that's what the OG post was about, I also looked into how often Character A is headcanoned as trans vs Character B.
As for the disclaimer - I redid all of it yesterday, in part because the last time I did this the intention was only to drop the results in a gc and it shows lol, in part because I was curious if anything's changed, but mostly because I'm boo boo the fool who never wrote down which fandom some of this data is even for.
Now for the actual numbers!
I started with two Genshin Impact ships because I figured that's a good baseline for current fandom trends. One that's slightly more recent and another that includes a character I've seen thrown around in the tags a bunch. So;
Alhaitham/Kaveh (Genshin Impact)
All works: 14,589 | E/M: 38% Works where either is tagged as trans: 461 or 3% of all works | E/M: 70% Of those 40 or 9% are mpreg, compared to 2% in the ship tag overall. Meaning those make up for 13% of all mpreg works in the ship tag. Trans Kaveh was tagged 316 times, trans Alhaitham 188 times, 43 works were t4t So right off the bat we get some stats that, spoiler alert, will become a pattern. Works centring trans characters are nearly twice as likely to be rated E or M than the ship average (and most of those are Explicit, like, it's not even close for most ships). Second, works featuring trans characters comprise a disproportionally large amount of all mpreg fics, compared to the overall percentage they make up - in this case 13% vs 3% - altho this particular stat varies greatly from fandom to fandom. It's going to be lower with some. But it's also going to be much, much higher with some others.
Diluc/Kaeya (Genshin Impact)
All works: 8152 | E/M: 55% Works where either is tagged as trans: 186 or 2% of all works | E/M: 89% 22 or 12% of those mpreg, compared to 4% in the entire ship tag. They make up for 7% of all mpreg. 128 trans Kaeya fics, 74 trans Diluc fics, 16 t4t This is by far the horniest tag I looked at lol. 55% is a staggering number and while it's literally impossible for it to meet the 2:1 e/m ratio of most other fandoms, by gods, a solid attempt was made. 89% huh. Nobody here's interested in writing anything but smut. This one also continues the pattern of works centring trans characters being 3-4 times more likely to be mpreg than the average, and one person being portrayed as trans far more often.
Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast (Critical Role)
This is one of the ships I originally looked into. Nothing's really changed since. All works: 4076 | E/M: 33% Works where either is tagged as trans: 224 or 5% of all works | E/M: 74% 11 or 5% are mpreg, compared to 0,6% in the ship tag overall. Meaning that works centring trans characters make up for, deep breath, 42% of all mpreg fic in the tag. 5% of all fic is trans. 42% of all mpreg is trans. 63 trans Caleb works, 194 trans Essek works, 33 t4t Yeah idk what to say other than there's a reason I was already looking into this one 4 years ago.
Kabru/Laios (Dungeon Meshi)
All works: 628 | E/M: 48% Works where either is tagged as trans: 64 or 10% of all works | E/M: 89% 6 or 9% of those mpreg, compared to 5% in the entire ship tag. They make up for 20% of all mpreg. 62 trans Kabru works, 7 trans Laios, but 5 of those are transfem Laios. 5 t4t Smaller sample size means that the numbers are a bit more all over the place, but congrats to that one person in the tags that fully predicted the 9:1 split.
Now for a fandom that I thought might shake things up a little, because it's the first one on this list where the top/bottom dynamic is heavily implied by the source material and where the supposed bottom is canonically a bit baby crazy.
Lan Zhan | Lan Wangji/Wei Ying | Wei Wuxian (The Untamed/MDZS)
All works: 45,505 | E/M: 38% Works where either is tagged as trans: 444 or just under 1% of all works | E/M: 64% 70 or 16% of those mpreg, compared to 4% of all fics in the ship tag. They make up for 4% of all mpreg. 208 works tagged trans LWJ, 290 works tagged trans WWX, 54 t4t The fact that fics centring trans characters make up a relatively small percentage of all mpreg fic is not entirely surprising in a fandom this big on (magical) baby acquisition. So the most interesting part about this one ended up being the relatively equal number of trans fics for both characters, which I wasn't entirely expecting from a fandom where the source material already comes with certain BL tropes.
And now for the crown jewel of this entire thing. Going in I already knew approximately what results I'm likely to get, so I was a bit blase about everybody in the the tags saying jayvik. I figured, surely it's not any worse than the rest of them. I was wrong. I would like to formally apologise to jayvik shippers, y'all really are fighting for your lives in the trenches.
Jayce/Viktor (Arcane)
All works: 9616 | E/M: 47% Works where either is tagged as trans: 1262 or 13% of all works | E/M: 80% 53 or 4% of those mpreg, compared to 1% of all fics in the ship tag. They make up for 36% of all mpreg. 205 trans Jayce fic, 1199 trans Viktor fic, 142 t4t 1199 trans Viktor fics and basically all of them just porn. Whew. 36% of all mpreg. Whew. I mean it's not reaching the heights of labru and shadowgast in their respective departments, but it's the combination that's the real kicker.
And you might be looking at this thinking, well, it's not really that bad. These are all pretty small numbers, 9% is hardly an epidemic of people writing trans men as baby making machines. And yeah, when you're looking at all the thousands of works available it doesn't seem that bad.
But when you're browsing a 'Trans [Character]' tag and every 7th fic involves them getting pregnant? When half of the entire 'Pregnancy' tag is trans men? When the rest is just extremely heteronormative PIV smut? And the only characters portrayed as trans men are short and skinny and have long eyelashes and their more traditionally masculine counterparts are being headcanoned as transfem??
That says something.
I know this is only a handful of fandoms and you're welcome to add more! Please do! But personally I don't have the spoons to keep looking into this right now and getting hit over the head with the same pattern over and over again. 80% porn. 4 times more likely to involve pregnancy. That 9:1 split. jesus h christ
It's really fucking annoying shipping an mlm ship and everyone in the goddamn universe is like "the bigger stronger one is a dominant cis man who tops and the smaller weaker one is a submissive trans man who bottoms :)"
#fandom meta#ig#because i had to find these somewhere in the annals of various discord gcs#i also found that one time i tried to find out how much omegaverse an average fandom has#and another time where i was comparing the amount of yumejoshi fics across different fandoms#(i did that last one bc I naively theorised that there's gonna be less transformers self insert fic than the average fandom)#(and i was very wrong lol)#i may or may not be also be a nerd#and all it's ever gotten me is /vague hand motions/ this#iiiiiii am not proofreading this rn#fingers crossed it's mostly coherent#i stayed up till like 3am staring at numbers so if i fucked something up welp#apologies

i'm seeing a rise right now of binary trans people saying how nonbinary oppression is very different from trans oppression. spoiler: they don't mean the fact that we experience exorsexism and they don't.
every time in the last few days i've seen this the phrasing has already been deeply exorsexist. "nonbinary vs trans", as if most nonbinary people aren't trans themselves. it's also always "nonbinary = not medically transitioning" and "not medically transitioning = less oppressed", which is not how any of this works. they also seem to think that all medical transition is visible from the outside. it's not. i want a hysterectomy one day. it's medical transition. you can't see it from the outside. firstly, why are you assuming nonbinary people who medically transition don't exist? are you just acting like they're trans men and women? is your distinction between "trans" and "nonbinary" that trans people medically transition while nonbinary people don't? fuck your truscum ass. the amount of scrutiny, discomfort, harassment, violence you face also isn't fully related to whether you medically transition or not. i've been asked invasive questions about my genitals ever since i hit puberty. even fellow transgender people have weird ways of trying to figure out what my "real gender" is, i.e. what my genitals are but you all aren't ready for that conversation. i've been harassed in public bathrooms. i've faced dismissal of my actual problem from doctors due to my gender. people call me he and she in mostly equal amounts. none of this lines up with their narrative of the non-medically transitioning nonbinary person who is always perceived as one binary gender (and that gender is usually female because everyone thinks we're women lite). what i don't (currently) have to deal with is getting a gender dysphoria diagnosis, fight for gender-affirming medical care, worry about my prescription being taken away. this isn't exclusive to nonbinary people though. there are binary trans people who don't medically transition, too, but i guess according to this idea soaked in transmedicalism, these people don't exist, or you're just misgendering them as nonbinary.
a lot of binary transgender people treat us the way cisgender people treat them. many seem to feel threatened that us weirdos who won't choose a side have quite a lot in common with them, actually.
when nonbinary people talk about exorsexist oppression, we're either straight up told to shut up or not listened to at all. we're told we're being divisive by talking about our own experiences (and we have to, because again, research doesn't really include us), when the people doing the dividing are binary trans people going "we have nothing in common with those people", treating us like we cannot be trans etc. it's a tale as old as time: the more privileged people within a group separating themselves from the less "respectable"/more marginalised people within the group and then accusing them of being divisive.
i'm sick and tired of binary transgender people theorising about what it's like being nonbinary. we're not hypotheticals. we're not thought experiments. we're real human beings you can listen to.
yes, our experiences are a bit different. but not because nonbinary people are less oppressed. because nonbinary people experience an extra layer of oppression that binary trans people don't: exorsexism.

How do you think Shen Qingqiu would be affected if he had Xin Mo?
holy fuck i've been thinking about this for months and now that i've been asked i'm kind of lost. anon i love you prepare for a whole lotta yapping
the question is vague enough to both give me room to fuck around and to not know what to focus on. so i'll go with trying to figure out what the chain of events would be, mostly. i'm very sleepy though. that should be taken into consideration.
xin mo uses its masters' trauma and psychological issues against them. which means we just have to take shen qingqiu's issues and ramp them up enough to see what that would do to him. how that change would present itself is highly dependent on how he comes upon xin mo, as well.
first off, what does he want? shen qingqiu wants, in no particular order: to survive, to have luo binghe by his side and safe, and to protect his sect from a wrathful luo binghe.
he dislikes violence but doesn't shy away from it when it's expected of him to be unmoved by it. he's a deeply curious person and likes theorising, cultivation, and feeling powerful and respected. he thinks of himself as a "faker" but is proud of his moral stances, especially when they differ from the original goods'.
his biggest frustration throughout the novel is the fact that he cannot protect luo binghe from the plot and all the suffering that would bring him, and that he is under the control of something so opposed to his own goals as the system.
let's say shen qingqiu were to fall into the abyss and find xin mo himself, and therefore the system's control of him would be weakened, as it was when binghe was down there. this would mean he didn't betray binghe, maybe even took his place. this has to happen because he figures out the system is his biggest obstacle, before he gets to xin mo, or else my whole thing falls apart. maybe shang qinghua plays a part in this, maybe not.
it doesn't matter much how, but if he doesn't come to this realisation at some point, he would not place his target on the system, nor would he get the courage to try to change things according to his own wishes.
so. abyss -> revenge on the system -> find xin mo -> cultivate with it -> get out of the abyss.
first off, the sect wouldn't stand for him using a clearly harmful (to both himself and the world around him) demonic sword, or any sort of demonic cultivation at all, so he'd have to hide it if he were to make his way back. paranoia and fear would probably change him into an overprotective person, someone who slowly becomes less careful about what he has to do in order to protect his people, especially when we factor in how he'd had to, for years, live under the control and supervision of the system.
there is also the problem of getting close to the protagonist again. if he were to make contact, the system would re-activate, and his attempt to kill it would be useless.
he'd draw himself away from the people he cares about so he could watch over them. he would study and try to use the sword to change things in his favour, with the right incentive. the harm brought to his cultivation by the sword would probably force him to become more secretive so he isn't discovered.
he would probably seclude himself away from cang qiong, binghe and most of the world. whether he goes into the demon realm or not doesn't matter. he would rely on only himself, unless he can get shang qinghua involved in his plans. i imagine shang qinghua would be opposed to it, not only because the system would be against it, but because shen qingqiu's death or pain would spell his own destruction (by luo binghe's hand) if he didn't try to stop it.
the threat of huan hua palace and people discovering binghe's true nature would probably allow for the sword to take advantage of him more and more as he uses it to fight against them. i don't think the opm would not go after luo binghe, especially with shen qingqiu out of the picture, so i'm imagining the old fuck would offer luo binghe some sort of help just to get him close. shen qingqiu wouldn't stand for it, and we know that as he gets more desperate, shen qingqiu tends toward pragmatism. he would do what needs to get done, i guess.
"stuck between a rock and a hard place" pretty much describes shen qingqiu in svsss. having that not be the system's fault, for once, would probably push him to the edge enough that he does something extremely stupid and turns the entire cultivation world against him in an attempt to protect binghe from the opm's influence.
i don't think he would go too far, outwardly. he would probably bring more harm unto himself with xin mo than binghe had, and would probably suffer more than anyone else involved. him being so tight-lipped about his own motivations would get him scorned and named a traitor to the human realm. he'd have shen jiu's reputation post-trial, maybe. he would become colder, lifeless, honed-in on his goals.
this was an extremely long-winded way of saying that shen yuan, corrupted by xin mo, would become a husk of his former self. i imagine a moment where he tries to be warm again, that whole fond teacher shtick, and would find himself horrified at how much of an act that is now, rather than acting cold and heartless. i think he'd have turned his caring into caring too much to the point of leaving himself behind.
i had a wip of shen yuan transmigrating into luo binghe and having to lean into xin mo's influence so that he could get luo binghe reinstated into his own body that i put on the shelf at some point. he ended up baiting people into trying to assassinate him, and used their sacrifice as a way to power some sort of revival technique.
shen yuan needs plausible deniability for every action he does, especially ones he sees as morally reprehensible. so. add that to the whole thing above and that's the bulk of it, i think. maybe. god please tell me i make sense i need a shizun headpat
#svsss#svsss au#shen qingqiu#shen yuan#luo binghe#god i am so exhausted. this was a wonderful question and if you asked me again later i'd probably have a different answer#if i missed the mark (heh) entirely please do correct me gently i am very small and i mean well i promise#any mistakes? bequeathed to shizun of course.#.q

One of my teachers believes megalodon is still alive, what should I tell him? It's the usual "Well, you can't prove it's not around" sort of argument
Oh brother... well, he's definitely wrong, because proving that megalodon isn't around anymore is incredibly easy! It's as simple as, "how come we don't see tons and tons of discarded megalodon teeth that date back only a few years, or even a few centuries and millennia, and we only find fossilised teeth?" See, megalodon tooth fossils are very common, and that's because the meg like all (most?) sharks shed their teeth as they grew new ones. If the meg was still alive we would see those giant teeth, even if the sharks themselves were "hidden" then eventually those teeth would wash up ashore after several years. But we never find them! Nor do we find lots of whale or large fish carcasses with massive bite chunks on beaches, or even living whales with battle scars left over from narrowly escaping the jaws of the meg. We could speculate on the giant squid thanks to sperm whales having fighting scars from them, but there's no similar phenomenon for the meg! The government can't hide EVERY tooth and carcass.
Oh and then there's also the more general stuff. "We've only explored 5% of the ocean we don't know what's out there" that mostly applies to the deep ocean where life is scarce. The megalodon lived in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world and was a predator of the topmost layers of the ocean, most likely. It's also theorised to have given birth close to the coast. In the coastal and shallow parts of oceans we would've sooner or later spotted them. "What if it just evolved to live in the deep sea" Such a large, specialised animal that was dependent on coastal waters for breeding? In such a short amount of time, while its prey was going extinct and the climate cooled? Unlikely. The meg ate whales and large fish to support its humongous size, where does one find such prey on the bottom of the ocean, I wonder? One does not. "Maybe it evolved to filter feed" wh- Then that's no longer the megalodon, is it!!???? There are real, actual super interesting and cool filter feeding sharks that need our attention and protection, and if someone's willing to completely ignore them for the sake of a stupid argument about their beloved megadeath murdershark still existing, then that's pretty sad. At that point you can calmly whisper, "it's okay, shhhh, you can let her go. It's okay. You can miss her, but you need to let her go."
Ah, if you're going to attempt to talk to your teacher about this, I do recommend you don't get snarky like I do about this matter, because that tends to get people on the defensive. No one wants to feel like they're being made fun of (very understandable)! I'm just personally very dumbfounded about people who willfully ignore science in favour of going "I wish this cool giant gigamurder killershark was still alive so I'm going to think that way now"

I have an answer to the fingerless gloves one! Obviously materials science is way more advanced in the TAG universe, so my theory is that they're not actually fingerless, but two seperate layers of one glove: A heavy-weight black material, that isn't part of the suit's pressure vessel and functionally is a fingerless glove, over a thinner material that really only has three requirements - hold one atmosphere in tension, be supple enough to allow near-fingerless dexterity, and be guaranteed to survive one rescue plus some generous margin of error - and sacrifices long-term durability, abrasion resistance and cost of fabrication to do it. It's also probably not great if you slam your hand in a car door...
Got nothing for the TBI issue, though. No amount of materials science changes what happens when your brain smashes against the inside of your skull, and Gordon alone should have been the poster boy for second impact syndrome by now, so I'm 90% sure that the TAG universe operates on entirely different laws of physics, or at least physiology.
Maybe they actually are so small they have to jump to reach the coffee machine...
IS GORDON TRACY IMMUNE TO TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY?
BECAUSE HE GOT KNOCKED OUT ONCE OR TWICE IN EPISODE 1 (WHICH HAS STUCK IN MY BRAIN DUE TO THE IMPLAUSABILITY) BUT WAS COMPLETELY FINE AFTERWARDS.
I DID SOME RESEARCH AND LOSS OF CONSCIOUSNESS CAN ONLY BE CAUSED BY REALLY REALLY BAD THINGS, SUCH AS A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, LIVER FAILURE OR EXTREME PAIN. THE ONLY THING THAT APPLIED IN THAT MOMENT WAS A TBI.
I stand by my previous words that he does not possess a brain.
#i'm not nearly nerdy enough to theorise whether him mostly getting injured under potentially hundreds or thousands of atmospheres of water#pressure might conceivably change anything?#but god i wish i was#also he really does not follow our physical laws i do know there either#HOW DO YOU DIVE THAT DEEP AND THEN JUST COME BACK UP GORDON?#HOW??#we KNOW he's not even pre-breathing pure oxygen#thunderbirds#thunderbirds are go
