Wrote this for a fic exchange a little over a week ago! Was requested to make something with Gale hiding the fact that he's a dragon from the rest of the party, which was super fun. Got to learn a lot about dnd dragons from it and got to practice a new story structure for me 💜💜💜

A bunch of Ghosts with a variety of outfits he owns (either by stealing them or making them himself), or has been badgered into wearing (i.e. all the modest stuff he visibly despises). There's also a lil teen Ghost for...reasons. :3c A few of these outfits are even heavily based off of stuff I have actually seen on mannequins in shopping malls, just with a Special Ghost Twist.

His fashion sense sure is something, huh. <:]

Here's the prints I threw together for a couple of the outfits. Both the Cherry Skull and Worm Party prints tile - the Rainbow Tiger Spooky Bonanza does not, at least in its current form (the ghost and tiger stripe layers DO tile separately, though). Meanwhile, I accidentally deleted the full-size mushroom print due to Dumb Sick Brain, whoopsies... ._.;

And, last but not least, this is technically also Ghost, just in a wholly different universe, lol:

I think I may have posted this before in a less finished state...? Either way, I may attempt to work this disguise of Ghost's into Breach somehow. We shall see. Either way, he goes by 'Calico' in this form.

Yes! And if I remember correctly they are found in the Wailing Way and the Shrine of the Apostates (also known as Heretic’s Grave) both in castle B, which is near where the Smiling Statue (which looks a lot like Carmilla) can be found. :3

Also, the Energy Circle being found here, over a particular seemingly important marble coffin no less, is interesting considering it’s the whip upgrade that lets Juste spin the whip like Simon can in CV4 (albeit in way more neat of a circle lol).

Also on the topic of items, there’s a lot of interesting furniture descriptions too.

The Hero Statue and the Tall Clock seem pretty obvious. Simon would’ve been the most recent hero of the time and really the first of his family to get very much respect for it. The clock just directly mentions Juste’s ‘granddad’ so like yeah.

The Smiling Statue just straight up looks like Carmilla’s mask and is probably a Jojo reference since Carmilla is one lmao anyway but I’m not sure why she’s called a Goddess here, pretty interesting. These other two just had some weird descriptions of a presence in general.

The only thing I can’t figure out is who the Sage Statue is even supposed to be. The other two seem to have a pattern, so I’d expect like a Skull Statue or something to be Death/Dracula (as he was a skeleton ghost in Simon’s Quest) or something, but no it’s just some old guy. Maybe he’s looking so smug because he knows he’s out of place and messing with us lol. And the names of the statues also have some kind of relation to who they are (Carmilla smiles, Simon is regarded as a legendary hero) but the word ‘Sage’ just kinda doesn’t relate to any character I can think of other than like idk one of the random old guy towns people, but why would he get a statue? It’s odd, hopefully I’ll figure it out eventually tho.

Harmony of Dissonance has a lot of really interesting details in it, especially Simon’s Quest references, that make sense considering it takes place right after it and revolves around the plot of Maxim trying to recreate the glory of that last Dracula battle from it while not knowing the context behind why Simon did that, so they’re pretty intertwined in that way, it’s really cool :D!!!

I should probably make more general long analysis posts about these kinds of things sometime if I can actually gather everything into one place, cause this kind of random detail gathering stuff is really fun hehe >:3c. This also kinda just ended up a rant that left the topic and went to others so whoopsie (XwX)

the full cast of naoise's circus troupe (as of now) is:

Naoise (of course) a Seelie prince avoiding his throne and trying to sully his royal name. He's a shitlord

Henrietta- vampire, previously mafia until she got bored and met Naoise, now enacting chaos with her bestie. They like to try to kill each other for fun

Amos- human who made a deal with a demon for immortality to record humanity and prove they are inherently good (bamboozled himself and accidentally gave Naoisw his name, now forced to be here)

Lore- a fallen angel who accidentally condemned a shit ton of souls to hell. Basically made a whoopsie at work and now is a trapeze artist. Super unlucky

Melody- half troll half faerie girl, tames all sorts of fantastic animals and befriends them for the circus. #Orpahned

Vaughn- Magician act and knife thrower, also a pooka/púca. Kinda doesnt give a shit what they do, bit of a jackass, it's just fun to see humans gawk

Ezzie (or Esmeralda)- Demon who partners with Lore for their trapeze acts, and Vaughn as his "beautiful assistant." Daredevil (lol) and she lives for the adrenaline rush. He and Vaughn have a lil romance goin on

Clown bitch- i dont. Have a name for this guy. I have just been calling him clown bitch forever. Anyway, the god Unseelie who left Faerie after they made their biggest prank succeed (trapping their brother Seelie in their own throne). Now just hanging out :3c

Marionette- A life-sized doll that creates the music after Naoise's last musician left the group. Created by Clown Bitch, becomes friends with Amos after he helps her establish what she wants for herself

thats what happened in claw at the stars!!!! i just got a little silly with it and did whatever, save for some general rules i stuck to :3 Vanessa is the only one we see in the fic that has a design actually BASED off of a fish thats mentioned within the story, which is the rabbit fish! or chimaera monstrosa if you want the scientific name ;3c

(tho indigo is also VERY incredibly loosely based off of an orca! (...and i never did draw them a ref did i... WHOOPSIES!))

the future stares back is a liiiitle more special tho because I AM indeed going feral insane evil with the funny fish biology and therefore the mers here are based off of the opah (WHICH CAN ALSO BE KNOWN AS THE SuNFISH OR MOONFISH BY THE WAY >:3) and the lungfish!!!! they mainly take inspo from the lungfish in build, both internal and external! they're warmblooded like the opah AND some mers get similar looking scales too if theyre lucky!!! sooo hehehe weird fish biology GO!!!

Glass Cannon (Kaiser x Joe) - Two red-haired European old men that have been right next to each other in rank for a long ass time. Their ages line up n I always just associate them w each other in my mind so my brain was just like 'ah. They're in love, I see'.

Narcis x Disco - they're both 20, that was the initial link in my brain LMAO. But Narcis is a self-obsessed asshole /affectionate and Disco is walking sunshine so they contrast each other well. Disco said 'I can fix him' and was RIGHT

ZenTiger (GT x Hondo) - I literally cannot say why I ship these two, they just seem like they work well together. Cocky mischievous magic user and his no-nonsense saint of a bf.

CarDon - It's canon and they're utterly precious they're so in love‼️ I love the ship trope of a beautiful woman and her bf/fiance/husband who are disasterously in love

Sugar Crash (Soda x Bull) - They're both huge bald dudes with giant moustaches and are right next to each other in the World Circuit, ofc they're married/lh/j. They have very opposite personalities and I imagine they balance each other out, with Soda calming Bull's rage and Bull keeping Soda under control :]

Pot O' Gold (Aran x Macho) - AUGH THESE TWO I LOVE THEM. They're the two most hated boxers in the WVBA canonically, so I figured hey, what if they bonded over that, and it just went from there lmao. Their personalities make it seem like they'd never work out, but they prove everyone wrong!!

Silent Night (Nick Bruiser x Mr Dream) - this one is so utterly incomprehensible but HEAR ME OUTTTT- They're both one-off champs from their respective games, have never been beaten, have green motifs,,, many people consider them boring and unfit for a final boss as well. With all their similarities (and WILDLY different personalities) I just kinda smacked em together

Dragon Dance (Dragon Chan x Heike) - Twink4Twink lmao. I just think they're cute together <:]

Kid Cuisine (Kid Quick x Pizza Pasta) - They're both right next to each other in the ranks and trapped in the arcade someone help em,,, I initially just envisioned them as super close friends but whoopsies now they're kissing silly me

I'll probably arrange how I'm going to watch Murderbot today when I'm at gaming group with friends who use streaming services. My general impression from fan reaction is that it's going to have typical adaptation difficulties but be generally acceptable watching. I'd be surprised if it were half as addictive as the books, though.
