Also here is an interview snippet which I thought was interesting. I've never thought much about what his creative process might have been like. Also, I didn't realise that the panels he drew on were so much larger than what ended up in print. I mean, it makes sense, but I guess I always just assumed he drew up the squares exactly the way they looked in the end.

I may not be hot on the heels of Ultimates #10, but there's a new issue tomorrow and the prevailing theory is that Jim is the mole. i don't know what I would do about another gut punch. I guess that's the point of the universe, but for once PLEASE be nice... please.

We need more engagement in this fandom!

So, as the title says, because I was thinking about this - I love this manga with all my heart as you very well know, and the main reason I started translating is because I wanted more engagement in the fandom, which was pretty much dead. Well, it still kind of is, which brings me here lol

I tried to keep this blog translations only to keep everything more in order and make it easy to find the various chapters and all, and I kept all my theories and ramblings either in the tags or on my main blog, except for the times I got asks.

But I would love for this fandom to be more active! I wanna talk about theories and headcanons and ships and all that! I want this fandom to start living again :')

So I was wondering - would you people like it if I started also posting about that kind of stuff? Reblogging fanarts, posts, fanfics or whatever I see around? Would you like to engage more in the fandom? I'm asking because: 1) maybe you'd prefer it if this blog stays translations only, kinda like an archive; 2) maybe there aren't many people who actually wants to engage in fandom activities anyway lmao

Help I just gave a presentations on comics and graphic novels in relation to object oriented ontology (it doesn’t matter there’s too much to explain)

But then someone in my class raised their hand to ask me a question afterward, and they asked me if I knew of this comic artist (im not saying the name because the artist does in fact have tumblr and i don’t want to push boundaries on the artist or my classmate)-

I said the name was familiar (it was) and I might know who the artist was if I saw the art (I did) AND MY CLASSMATE JUST GOES-

“Yeah that’s my dad.”

HELLO?!?!!!

and then after my presentation my classmate turned to me and was showing me the artist’s port folio and my mind was actively exploding - and THEN they said that Richard Case (who was the artist for grant morrisons doom patrol, which is one of the many volumes I passed around my class) is a close family friend.

What.

I know the comic industry is extremely close knit- like the owner of the comic store in town regularly talks (extremely casually, might I say) about chatting with mark waid and Alan Moore often and istg I think my brain is on fire when I hear that.

But like- HM?!?

Anyway if anyone has any connections or networking tips they’d like to share to help a poor girl out I would love to hear them!! I’m interested in comic writing and have studied a couple comic scripts but the internet can only get me so far!

Gosh I’m never getting over this.

papyrus and gaster are opposites, almost, in a way. and yet the pieces fit together so well. im talking about how gasters name is mostly forgotten after his death, and how papyrus name is mostly forgotten until after he's killed.

i dont know what to make of it, but theres something there. perhaps that gaster is forgotten because he was meant to be there, and papyrus is forgotten because he isn't meant to be there. that both names arent spoken by most, until after they're both gone. the public doesnt say papyrus' name, but none of the main characters speak gaster's. maybe that they are the same person and changed after an accident, or perhaps they merged across timelines and worlds, putting themselves both into a situation they do not belong in. maybe papyrus somehow accidentally took gaster's place in this timeline, and thats why he doesnt belong.

but it's only after they have both left that the universe deems it appropriate they be remembered by a name. no ones supposed to be there any more. no ones supposed to not exist. the paradox, the contradiction- it's solved now. they are both dead. is this anythign

hate to say it but my urbanspook au blog, meatbricks, has been deleted.

i no longer enjoy writing for this series or engaging with the fandom. i still appreciate the idea behind the series and what it sets out to do for the analog horror genre as a whole, but i no longer feel much, if any, attachment to the characters, setting, newer concepts, or fanbase.

i'm grateful for those who followed and supported my blog, and if you're reading this, i will forever be glad that you enjoyed my work and that i was able to connect with you this way. thank you so much for everything.

i suppose this is my formal goodbye to the urbanspook fandom for now. maybe i'll be back sometime in the future, but currently, i'm afraid this is as far as it goes.

INSANE THEORY TIME BUT HERE IS HOW FRAU EVA CAN STILL WIN EVEN IF DEMIAN TURNS OUT TO BE "IORI'S SON"

I will be copying what I said to my friend in our dms immediately after waking up. Ok. I just had an epiphany.

Another friend of mine and I had been conversing regarding Demian possibly being a nonhuman entity in canon, based on these three points that could make it work if he truly does happen to be nonhuman:

Shapeshifting

Illusions

Possession

Now! Possession! That's the little prince's whole thing in lcorp! And looking at the patterns, one can assume his body could be a vessel of some sort, looking at these three primary details:

Once again, the little prince's ability of possession and brain takeover

The Little Prince died to be able to return to his home, freeing his soul from its physical vessel

Now, how does this tie back to Iori?

This came to me sporadically as I was just... letting thoughts hit the wall to see what sticks, and then I realized that to possess someone, you need to find a body first. There are loads of patterns pointing to Iori and Demian having some form of relation to one another, but I think that relation is only physical. I think that if Demian really is a nonhuman deity, he is possessing Iori's dead son. This means that he is not directly related to her, but rather, only the body is.

And not to mention, Demian very clearly has some abnormality thing going on, considering how his attack makes a near identical sound to Blue Star.

Stars!

Frau Eva is constantly referred to as a star in the novel.

Demian has an obsession with stars.

The little prince has a love for stars!

So, Demian being Iori's son doesn't mean he can't be Frau Eva's son.

Maybe Iori is the mother of his vessel.

But he, as a lone person, is related to Frau Eva herself, or themself, or maybe even itself if Eva happens to not be human.

Because even if Dante had been talking about Eva at the start when Iori's guys were after them, they never referred to Eva by pronouns, and they talked about her as if she were something solid, unmoving. Maybe dead! But, maybe not. Something about not wanting to tell Iori's guys "■■■'s location".

Please be Frau Eva.
