So I started binging InuYasha lately and spoiler warning

Actually fucking horrified by the amount of people in the fandom who think shipping Sesshomaru with Rin is ok. Like Yashahime… certainly exists but what in the actual hell. Sesshomaru started letting Rin travel with him when she was like anywhere from 6-10 based on her character design and personality; and I’m supposed to believe that him dropping her off in Kaede’s village (and still sending her gifts and checking in while she grows up mind you) only to later marry and have children with her when she’s 16-18 is ok????? Whoever decided that that was something that should happen should be put in fucking jail I don’t care. And no one even try to argue that “they’re soulmates” or “it’s not grooming they fell in love!” because shut the fuck up, Rin talks about wanting to be with him forever when she’s literally a small child and he hears this. An adult deciding to persue a relationship with that kind of inherent power dynamic even if that person becomes “of age” is disgusting. The twins are cute but people who ship Sesshomaru and Rin need to be booed out of existence. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

To me, Dr. Ratio is like that one specific topic/subject that I'd force myself to read because of its importance for an exam and during the process, fall in love with it realizing its intricacies. I originally did not like him at all ; his snooty talking style and apparent lack of respect used to give me some not-so-kind flashbacks from middle school Math class.

He irked me so much that I had to start a fic with the exclusive wish of emotionally torturing him, which then spiralled into a long-fic because, as I was looking into his lore, I realized that there is practically nothing on his origin story besides that one letter from his teacher. How exactly did he come to harbor this specific ambition? How were his philosophies formed? How old is he? Does he still have a living family or, did he EVER? They don't tell us! And that drove me crazy.

It's honestly such a pity. When you look at all the theories about him and realize just how much potential he has and that the writers aren't utilizing it. He has maybe an hour worth of screentime from Crown of the Mundane and Divine and Penacony quest combined which I personally think is criminal. You look back on those scenes and find some info that has your brain malfunction for a second. What do you mean Ratio knew that the Astral Express could be used as a weapon and the whole deal about “Dormancy”? And they also never explain themselves after dropping these information!

Dr. Ratio is unfortunately one of the most mischaracterized characters in this game and as someone who used to be a part of that crowd, I just want to extend my solace to all Ratio lovers. As well as encourage anyone with similar feelings of dislike or, someone who currently does not understand him to spare some effort into studying him. Take your time and don't be discouraged, what matters most is that you start thinking.

So many saying:

"Oh! Why do all the other romances in the epilogue get kisses while Astarion gets just hugs! Where is our kiss?!?!"

I think you're missing the point...

For non-ascended Astarion, nothing is more fitting or more perfect than that hug. Why?

This is a man that had been abused for over 200 years. A man who was forced to use his body to lure people against his will. A man who tells you that he has used his body sexually and otherwise that just the act of sexual intimacy has been tainted for him.

In Act 2, as he tells you all this, allowing an extremely vulnerable side of himself to be shown to you. Asking for reassurance that he was more than a cheap tool. What does Tav/Durge do?

They hug him. Hold him tightly. And the Vampire has no clue what to do because he, in 200 years, has never been touched like that unless it had sexual implications. For the first time, he is being touched for pure, vulnerable intimacy and love. And in that moment, he accepts the safety of your arms, and holds you. Craving not a touch of lust, but love.

So yes, a hug is far better than a kiss in my regard. At the end of the day, no matter what, he wants to feel that safe feeling of your arms. No expectations, just pure love.

I'm gonna be honest as someone who is VERY obvious ab the fact that Baxter is my favourite olba love interest, the way Derek is held to such a higher standard than him makes me like so upset 💀

Because this guy is genuinely such a nice person with a really bittersweet story and he's overlooked so constantly for just like.... BAXTER IDK LIKE-

This standard goes beyond just him, it applies to his family. Sure it's fair to say that Derek was parentified, but the idea that his parents are straight up bad people is just ignoring a huge part of Derek's character. Could they have maybe made MORE of an effort to take pressure off Derek's shoulders? Sure, definitely. But Derek put a lot of that on himself, it's insane to hold his parents to the crazy standard and then in the same breath go thirst over Cliff who literally bribes his kid to not be mad at him when he genuinely fucks up.

The inherent biasis against the poc characters in this franchise (conscious/intentional or not) are so strong. I think there's obviously some nuance with Cliff in this case since his ethnicity is 'unspecified', but that's also its own issue because of the fact that a large majority of people view white people as the default, so they end up making Cliff and Cove white for 'simplicities sake'.

That part btw has been posted about before by actual poc creators in the fandom (I'm not totally sure how they feel ab tags so I won't specify) so like they are def more qualified to speak on it than me, it's just a good point I think ab.

And again this isn't even to hate on Bax, that's my boy. I literally never shut up about his stupid ass. But the way Derek and his family are portrayed in fan content is just such an ick and I feel like a lot of you need to unpack why you think the way you do and fix your shit idk

First time drawing Jeremy and Michael NDNNDND

Their character designs make me so happy and I cannot explain why.

I just rly love that they both have extremely similar interests but kinda opposite clothing styles, personalities, and are like on the opposite ends of the confidence spectrum.

Hyperfix rant below about character design lmao:

Their costume design is especially interesting to me because it shows off their duality as friends a lot.

Michael has a ton of pins and patches on his hoodie to show off his interests, no matter how "geeky" because he doesn't care what other people think about it and he's going to be himself no matter what opinions people have about it. His hoodie is also red, a very loud color that draws attention and shows off his confidence.

Jeremy's outfit in comparison is very bland and reserved. Just from his outfit alone you can't really get a handle on what he likes the way you can with Michael. His cardigan is blue, not only a visual contrast to Michael's red, but blue is also generally considered the most pleasing and well liked color, hinting towards Jeremy's entire motivation in the musical: wanting to be liked/accepted by others, including himself.

This also lends visual credibility to Jeremy's whole "I'm not the one who the story's about" angle. Jeremy's outfit and color scheme doesn't really stand out when compared to a lot of the other characters in the musical. Hell, when you look at both Jeremy and Michael next to each other, Michael looks more like a protagonist than Jeremy does via visual design and body language alone.

Tldr: Jeremy and Michael's visual designs are very smart and I love them dearly okay bye NSNND.

Okay I’m sure someone has said something like this before but I have major angus beef with the Chloe (RT600) Patch in Detroit: Become Human

Like, the entire POINT of setting Chloe free once you beat the game is to afford her the same liberties you as the player just spent the entire game fighting for for other androids, but then when people started missing her, the game devs were like “what if we just give you a carbon copy of the original Chloe and you can enslave HER instead?”

Like, I get missing Chloe, but it would’ve been SO MUCH COOLER if the patch had Chloe send you messages or something to update you about her life after she left. Every time you boot up the game, you could get a different one, like “I went river rafting for the first time recently and I LOVED it!!” or “I visited the Empire State Building and discovered that I’m deathly afraid of heights, but I’m just happy to have had the chance to learn more about myself.”

I’m just saying there were much better ways they could have brought Chloe back

Absolutely balls to walls insane that they made an entirely new character model for Hannah yet didn't use it for any of the in-game images A SINGLE TIME in this remake.

The most egregious example of this to me is the Chapter 6 radio tower segment where you find the twins missing person posters. Beth has an updated model photo and Hannah.... girl....

When I say I have received the buggiest copy of date everything in existence I truly mean it and I’m in the trenches

Two characters are stuck in a dialogue loop that I Cannot Break, which means I cannot finish their or Multiple Other Character’s stories

The door to the crawl space wouldn’t open, despite the fact I very much have opened it before, so I got locked out of like 2 or 3 characters down there

Sometimes entire conversations with characters just. Skip. Which is fun because the next time I talk to them I’m incredibly confused as to what the fuck they’re talking about

I fixed a hate ending with one of the characters, and then the game. Hasn’t registered that it fixed. Even though I saw that it was fixed. We said we were friends. Why do you suddenly hate me now.

One character just straight up disappeared for no reason

Like. I’m having a good time. Or I’m trying to! And you just keep kicking me in the balls for no reason.

I’ve heard some other folk’s games have been a bit buggy but idk what happened in mine it’s cursed.
