have been sound designing again, gonna post a couple of these. the patch screenshots are the main event in the audio. i made a sequence to modulate the fm on both osc 1+2, and an lfo to to bounce filter 1 up and down at a different rate.

Formerly an independent and respected doctor, Quoll Jomas enlisted as a field medic for the New Republic military after the hospital he worked with was destroyed by Neo-Imperials. Eventually, he caught the attention of Captain Xadisall Varessi after he saved his squad's lives from almost certain death, prompting the Mirialan to recruit him into Besh Squad as a combat medic under the codename of Patcher.

Having vast knowledge of many sapient species' physiology, this usually-optimistic Nautolan has kept his squad alive in many difficult situations throughout the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, Valkoran War and Forceless War, and saved the lives of many high-profile figures. While he's one of the more normal members of Besh Squad, his use of "bacta bombs" (a bacta-spreading grenade he co-developed with Besh Squad's technologist Boltz) in tricky situations has made other field medics question his competence, as the bombs aren't reliable for direct treatments and sound more like an attempt to apply holo-game healing logic to reality. However, they have worked in a pinch and kept the squad alive until Patcher could apply proper medical treatment.

Some suspect his seemingly-perpetual optimism is actually a mask he puts up to cope with the fact that not only can he not save everyone's lives, his role as an armed medic means he's taken lives too. During the Forceless War, the fact that he has no way of treating Forceless possession is an endless source of frustration for him.

Deciding Patcher's pose and equipment for this piece was tricky, as I needed it to reflect his role in the squad and his personality. So, I decided to give him a bacta sprayer as his prominent tool.

Patcher read Bear's medical data file and calls him to the med-bay. There, Patcher softly pats his vod’ika’s head and gives him a blue milk honey bonbon.

How to install the latest MacOS on Mac hardware that is no longer officially supported using OpenCore Legacy Patcher.

I recently discovered this and it has been a game changer. Recently my partner needed a Mac for her music course, so we bought a 2012 Macbook Pro as it was cheap and on paper still had decent hardware for working with music. We were then disappointed to find out that it is no longer supported by Apple, and therefore can't run the latest version of Logic, which she needed to inter-op with the school comptuers. Just as we thought we had bought a less than useful computer, I found this video about OpenCore Legacy Patcher from Youtuber Action Retro.

It's a community made piece of software that allows you to install the latest version of MacOS on any Intel Mac, from the late 2000s onwards. All you need to do is download the application on a mac, it will then allow you to make a bootable USB drive for any version of MacOS you want, and you just need to choose the specific mac you are targeting from a list, and it "blesses" the bootable drive, allowing you to install it on your unsupported mac using the normal install process.

I tried it and it it worked perfectly on the 2012 Macbook Pro, and the latest version of MacOS Sonoma is running perfectly well on the 12 year old hardware. It also allowed us to install the latest version of Logic, so it's working great.

Props to the team for making this and allowing hardware that would otherwise be e-waste to continue to be usable with the modern internet and software. If you end up using it, please consider donating to the team as apparently they had to jump through some serious technical hoops to get this working. Making an sdv mod where everyone is a demon/has horns. It’s mostly portrait and sprite but i’ve added 3 whole dialogues acknowledging the horns. Progress is slow but i think by the end of summer it’ll be finished

so this patch is 3 vitals: a carrier, a modulator, and a sub. didn't make a track out of this one yet. the carrier is a simple wavetable with the "powerchord" unison mode. the modulator is a generic fm growl. the first 2 synths are going into a vocodex, and i'm using an envelope on the band width. same envelope is going to a lowpass. control surface is modulating decay, and there's a toggle to add a bit off attack time. the whole patch is getting sent through distortion (as a limiter lmao), lowpass filter and then convolved through an edited bong sound.

With macOS Tahoe 26 being the last version of macOS to support AMD64 processors, I might have to move back to Linux sooner than I thought. I dread finding a distro that suits my needs and designs preferences, but at the same time: OpenCore Legacy Patcher has proven significantly less stable in macOS Sequoia than it was when I originally used it back in macOS Monterey. I do miss the stability of Linux on my MacBookPro8,2; but ugh… I do not miss the distro setting-up and elitism. 🫠
