Hey, do you guys remember when these two were actually compelling characters?

Yeah, neither do I.

Bait is by far the most interesting character of these three and I'm not even joking.

But lets start at the beginning shall we?

Let's start off with Callum, the protagonist.

He is the son of Queen Sarai and step son of King Harrow 🐦 and the big brother of Prince or King Ezran, depends on which part of the show you're on. I guess spoiler if you haven't got past episode 3 where Pip dies and Harrow is forced to eat bird food for the rest of his life. (I have MASSIVE feelings about that "plot twist" but that's a potential post for another day.)

He struggles with the idea of being a prince because he believes he's not good at horse riding and sword fighting, things a prince should be good at.

Ignore the horse, Bait is the one clearly in charge, Callum doesn't know what he's doing.

All (kind of) jokes aside, he was dorky without being too annoying and him getting the Sky Primal Stone which in turn allowed him to use Sky magic which made him feel like he was for once good at something was interesting to watch, especially after he had to smash it to hatch a dying Zym and learn the Sky Arcanum through other means. A good well rounded character.

Then we have Rayla, who used to be one of my favourite characters.

Not anymore.

She was originally so snarky, sassy and feisty but in such a fascinating kind of way. She also had a kind and gentle heart and would do anything to help those in need. Plus, she had the inner struggle of being an assassin who cannot kill but that didn't really matter because she used her skills for the greater good anyway.

Its a shame her first and only kill in the show came in the form of herself.

From a girl who would do anything to help others in need, even a dragon that would torch tons of innocent people to legit turning her back on a dragon in distress. This is not Rayla.

But how did it come to this you may ask? Well curious Tumblr reader, I have one simple answer. One simple answer that will burn so much of The Dragon Prince's fandom down and will cause an all out riot but let me just tell you, I'm speaking nothing but the truth.

The answer is:

Yep! Them becoming a duo literally murdered their characters and I still o7 them to this day 🫡

What was once two interesting characters who found solace in each other and set off together (and Ezran was there as the third wheel) to stop a war spanning centuries became a poorly written soap opera.

So where did it go wrong?

I'm gonna sound like a broken record in saying SEASON 4 📢 HAHA!

But no, not season 4, it was actually before that.

It starts with Rayla leaving Callum the nicest birthday present anyone could give someone - ghosting them.

Now you'd think that Rayla would at least wait a day or two after Callum's birthday so he can have an enjoyable day first but nope! She decides to dip on whats supposed to be a happy day for him and make it miserable. What a woman! 👏

Now you could be saying to me, "But she needed to go with full urgency!" To which, no she did not. She went because it was a mission of revenge, something she LITERALLY said herself so she could have waited a few days but she chose instead to make someone she's supposed to love miserable on a day of happiness.

But okay, she dips and leaves Callum sad and miserable on his birthday. Surely when she returns, she apologizes right?

...Right?

I don't think arc 2 Rayla would understand the word sorry if it bit her right up where the Moon don't shine.

Anyways, its two years later (Yes, you heard me, two years) and Rayla decides to finally unghost Callum.

Now, Callum is understandably upset with Rayla after taking off on his birthday and leaving without saying goodbye. So whats Rayla's stance on this? Is she understanding?

Of course not, this is arc 2 Rayla we're talking about.

Imagine letting the guy she let down have some room to sort things out in his head. Crazy right?

But anyway, he eventually relents to Rayla because she won't shut up in typical Rayla fashion and they both snooze on the couch.

This kind of soap opera drama goes on for THE ENTIRE SEASON while they just gradually "make up" and its just such contrived conflict. Especially as nothing came of Rayla leaving for those two years and it happened off screen.

Plus, her not taking accountability for her actions is a big deal.

Sadly the writers did it with this ship. ^

I love Red Herring story lines that are spent so much time on and are SUPER built up only to have literally no impact on the plot whatsoever. 🤗

Loved wasting my time on the Dark Magic Callum story line.

BUT HEY, he did get some great looking tooth-paste in his hair! 🪥 Looks great on you Callum. 🤥

Now however, I must talk about the most beloved of all seasons and no, I don't mean season 6 or 3.

Clearly I'm referring to season 7, aka, facing sucking the season.

Like seriously, if I ate a Moonberry Surprise every time Callum and Rayla snogged, I'd end up needing medical attention.

That's not the offender I'm talking about though. It's Rayla's super selfishness and Callum choosing her over his grieving brother.

Somehow, the writer's thought that was okay.

Remember, this is the same girl who left him for 2 whole years to put her need of revenge before his feelings.

Callum betrayed his brother for her.

But it's not even just that, it's just the selfish nature of Rayla in season 7. Ezran has just had Katolis burnt to a crisp, and all she can think about is herself and her own needs. Ezran's feelings? They don't matter. As long as she's happy, that's fine.

I don't even want to talk about them all buddying up in the Silvergrove happily while Ezran is still dealing with Katolis' fallout.

Plus remember, at this point, Callum still believes that Runaan killed Harrow. I get forgiving someone but bro is literally choosing the guy who assassinated the guy who raised him over his grieving brother. It's actual insanity to me.

There is much more I have missed but I have reached my Rayllum limit for the day. This ship is as fun as watching paint dry so I want to do something that is going to actually bring me joy.

Tim Drake is adopted by the fandom, fight me!

DC stands for Disregard Canon, this post is about fanfiction! I read only ao3 and I do not condone Bat-cest!

I’ve read almost every even remotely fluffy Titans Tower AU, the non-demonic Cryptid Tim Drake, I’ve dabbled quite a bit in Tim Drake Joins the Batfamily Early and even the ones where he avoids the bats like the plague for whatever self-sacrificial reason while helping them (often at the cost of his own well-being) under the guise of an unknown name which has zero connections with Timothy Jackson Drake. I like hyper-competent Tim, "bratty" Tim who’s actually an unappreciated hero, wet blanket Tim (caretaker trigger), chaotic gremlin Tim, cryptid Tim, there was even this story with a DID Tim I really liked. The authors are amazing, especially Lulu_Rhythm, destiny919 and envysparkler (also iselsis with DaisyBirb, but theirs are a little heavy for me, and Nation_Ustria whose updates are slow but writing is *chef’s kiss*).

We love Jason and Tim brothering, but hear me out…where. Are. The Damian and Tim fics? Not the Damian-centric ones where Tim is just a support character to Damian’s growth story, but the relationship-centric ones without Tim being a punching bag for everyone physically and emotionally. Where are Damian’s apologies? Where is Damian’s respect, his guilt, his regret? And after that, where’s the bonding, the gentle sparring, the skateboarding lessons, the interpretative art sessions, secret photography runs through Gotham without worrying about gunshots, only about beautiful city shots. Where are the hard moral talks between two logicians in an emotionally constipated family? Where is the click in Damian’s mind about why he shouldn’t kill? (And on that note, why are half the fics in favour of murder? In favour of Tim going batshit crazy and calling it character development?) And in honour of two posts in pinterest from tumblr, where is Damian’s realisation that Tim is his own greatest enemy and where are the friendship bracelets?

And then, does anyone know what kind of dynamic Dick and Tim have? Here’s a whole post about that, please and thank you:

I have nothing to say about Steph because their fights are too complicated and I don’t think they can be together in a fic without ignoring half their history, cramming too much angst or inserting some therapy and for some reason Gothamites are allergic to therapy (considering what happens with therapists and what they have to deal with, it’s understandable).

Last thing! Tim has non-hero/vigilante friends and I think they are relevant. The Fox family and maybe those assassins he befriended? His family is so caught up in their own drama that seeing him being normal with a bunch of unknowns should be enough of a shock. Also the League. That would be a fun conversation, especially with Damian.

A = Affection (are they affectionate with you?)

Ian in public doesn’t show too much affection. The most in public he will do is hold your hand or maybe wrap his arm around you. He’s not too much of a PDA kind of guy.

Now in private it’s a whole other ball game. He’ll hold you to his chest and and kiss your head. This man will be clingy and want to make up for the loss of affection he could’ve gotten if it weren’t for the fact y’all were out the house most of the day.

This man cannot keep his hands off you once you’re both in your room alone. He’ll keep his hand on your thigh, sides, shoulders, anywhere possible. He has cold hands and he likes to feel your warmth.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

He’s a ride or die best friend. This man will defend you from literally anyone who tries to hurt you. Ian is prone to have at least one instance where he’d throw hands with a guy for saying something stupid to you.

Now we know this man can fight to an extent, we’ve seen how he jumped into the fight as soon as someone accidentally hit Erin. Your man is capable of fighting.

Now most of the time he has a mouth on him. He tends to say things that come to mind without really thinking it through. It’s part of his charm. You’ll always have that type of relationship where he’ll be upfront and honest with you, or at least speaking what’s on his mind.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

When you’re both alone, he loves to cuddle with you. He’s fine with being either big or little spoon, however he does enjoy being held sometimes a bit more.

He likes to rest his head on your chest and listen to your heart beat.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

This man will try his best to help around, but he doesn’t really give off the energy of cooking and cleaning.

Ian will try his best to help if you ask him though.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He’s a certified lover boy, and he doesn’t really seem like the type to break things off. There’s higher chances of you breaking things off first.

If he does break things off, he’s not the type to have bad exes. Ian seems like the type to still sort of be friends or be on good terms even after a break up. Especially if you’re in the alternative scene, the town is small and there’s only so many people his age into the same things he’s into.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

He’s a committed boy. He’d most likely die for you if it came down to it. Now I don’t think he’s the type to marry fast, and that’s mostly because he’s too anxious to move to such a big step so soon.

Ian is the type to want to take it slow and think it through. He wants you forever , but he’s not ready for the anxiety of moving to the next step.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

This man will coddle you and take care of you. He wants you to know that you’re very dear to him.

Hell he’ll hold you until you fall asleep if he senses you’re stressed.

He loves painting your nails black and pampering you. He’s not only physically careful of you, he’s always 100% emotionally active in the relationship. He’s always there to listen to you and help with anything you need.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

As stated before, Ian isn’t much for any sort of PDA around others. However when you’re both alone, he’s such a hugger.

His hugs are a bit tight, you can feel his bones up against your skin. He wants to try and show you how much he loves you through his hugs.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

He’s not the type to say it first, probably too scared you’ll reject him.

Once he does work up the nerve to say it or you say it first, he’ll be more open to saying I love you.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

He pretends to not be the jealous type of guy, but if he saw someone flirting with you he’d be pissed. Not pissed at you, but at the guy who had nothing but the audacity to talk to his partner.

As soon as you both got back to your place, he’d be clinging to you .

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

His kisses are usually small little pecks on your lips or neck when he’s out in public. When you’re both alone in your room, he’ll let his kisses linger. Ian will hold the side of your face to try and keep it in place as he’d deepen the kiss. He loves to nibble and suck on your bottom lip before groaning into the kiss.

He loves when you kiss on his jawline and neck, it makes him all flustered.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He’s honestly not the best with kids, he’s too awkward. He thinks kids are icky and gross and doesn’t want to be near them.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Asleep. He’s a night owl.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Ian is a night owl, he usually stays up and watches movies with you. That or he’ll be up doodling with you til midnight.

Sometimes he’ll walk around the neighborhood with you and stop by a 7/11 to get some snacks and slushees with you. His favorite is the red.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

It’ll take him a few months to actually open up to you. He’s been bullied for his alternative style and for painting his nails. So he’s a bit anxious about opening up to you because he’s scared you’ll dislike him too. Once you and him hit a couple months and he fully trusts you, he’ll open up a little bit overtime.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

He gets frustrated very easily, but he does his best not to take it out on you at all. He just sorta snaps at some other poor unsuspecting person who decided to try and make fun of him.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Ian pretends he doesn’t know much, but it’s very obvious that he pays attention to everything you’ve told him you liked and disliked.

One time when you were going into his room to grab him one of his classwork binders, a small notebook fell out. Taking a look at it, you’d find it had pages of all the bands you and him liked.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Ian’s definite favorite moment in the relationship is when you’re both in his room, cuddling together and listening to one of his favorite songs. You’re so close and to his surprise, you knew the lyrics and tried to sing along with the music. Just watching you do that made him see you in a new light.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

As stated before, this man can and will throw hands with ANYONE just to protect you, even when there’s a high chance of losing the fight .

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

If you care about anniversaries and want some effort put into it, he’ll make sure the day is full activities you’d like to do . He just wants you to be happy.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Man is stubborn on his beliefs. He’ll always think he’s right even when sometimes he is wrong.

Ian is also prone to being overly sarcastic and not take you or anyone seriously sometimes.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He’s somewhat concerned about his looks. His aesthetic is what separates him from the rest of the crowd at school. He’ll do the bare minimum to keep his appearance the same.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

He’s not the type to feel incomplete without you, he’s overall an independent person.

However, he does get a bit insecure and nervous when you aren’t with him. You have made him feel a lot more confident in public.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

10 Things I Love About Oppan

I have been tracking Ossan no pantsu ga nandatte ii janai ka aka Don't Care for an Old Man's Underwear aka Oppan in my weekly Japanese QL Corner posts, but this show is so good that I need to give it a full tribute now that the entire thing is available with English subs courtesy of @isaksbestpillow. You can find everything you need to watch here.

This is easily one of my favorite dramas of the year, and it had such a great cast of awesome characters and a story chock full of fantastic themes. This is a show that encourages us not to get desensitized to the world around us, to always challenge ourselves to learn and grow and update how we think about others and the culture we live in, and to prioritize personal happiness over conformity. I love it so much and I want to talk about why, because I hope more of you will, too! @twig-tea wrote a great spoiler free pitch for the show here; this one is not spoiler free in the hopes that those of you who like a bit more info will be further enticed to give it a try. On to the list!

This is a story about a middle-aged cishet man who realizes he has damaged his relationships and sets out to change to do right by his family

There are so few stories of genuinely great fathers in media, and I found something so healing in watching a dad try so hard to do his best. Just the very fact that Makoto cares that he has hurt his family and is willing to put in work to change sets him apart, both in media and in real life.

An unconventional friendship is the heart of the story—and it changes both the characters' lives

Our core relationship begins when Daichi prevents Makoto from falling down a set of neighborhood steps, and the two strike up a surprising friendship when Daichi proves open to listening to Makoto as he struggles to figure out where he went wrong with his family. Daichi is kind and warm-hearted but also firm in his convictions, and his wisdom is exactly what Makoto needs to start updating himself.

Daichi is a gay character who’s allowed to be a whole human—he is not here just to be a magical queer mentor for Makoto

And before you worry that Daichi is a Manic Pixie Dream Gay here only to support Makoto, let me assure you that he also has a story, and it’s more complex than you might initially expect. Daichi has a lot of confidence when it comes to helping other people solve their own problems, but we eventually learn that he's not so assured about his own struggles. Daichi has other relationships that matter aside from his bond with Makoto and his family and he gets his own character arc in which Makoto is able to support him in return. They have a mutual bond that changes both of them for the better.

It takes a gentle and thoughtful approach to figuring yourself out, and encourages us to be kind to others experiencing things we don't understand 

There are so many characters in this show whose stories highlight this theme, but it is perhaps most evident in the story of Kakeru, Makoto's son, grappling with his identity and gender presentation. This show will surprise you again and again with how open and thoughtful it is about questions of identity and preference, and it constantly reinforces that we shouldn't assume we know everything about others and how they will react to our truths--if we give people a chance to know us, they might be more kind and supportive than we think.

This story sincerely believes that doing what makes you happy is always the right choice

And they make it clear over and over again: your personal happiness matters more than any societal constructs or cultural norms. Letting go of what people outside of their family think is what heals the Okitas and helps them find their love and trust for one another again.

Relatedly, it gets fandom in a way few dramas do

Makoto's wife, Mika, is a kpop stan, and his daughter, Moe, is a yaoi mangaka. One of the best parts of the show is Makoto coming to understand and appreciate their fandom and learn to respect the joy it gives them, and in turn, the whole family.

Everyone has the chance to redeem themselves

Regardless of what they have done in the past, every character in this story has a chance to redeem themselves and earn trust and respect back--and earn is the operative word there. This show doesn't demand perfection, but it absolutely demands that you care when you harm others and earnestly try to do better, and we see many characters take that journey. This is further underlined by a character in the story who does not put in that effort to try, and consequently is not forgiven or brought into the family fold. So satisfying.

Every character and every relationship matters

I was constantly amazed by how attentive this show is to every single relationship, not just the big family ones, or even just Makoto and Daichi. Makoto also goes out of his way to get to know Daichi's boyfriend Madoka, his coworkers, and Moe and Kakeru's friends, and we see connections form and deepen between so many side characters in this story. It really cares about all its characters as whole people.

And while it's doing all of this important thematic work and making us cry on the regular, it also manages to be very fucking funny! 

This show is hilarious, which may surprise you given all the heavy thematic work it's doing. But the writing has a deft touch and it manages to explore all these themes with a lot of humor. Watching Makoto learn new things and blunder his way through connecting with others is truly a delight.

And it caps off all of this with a great story about having the courage to love in the face of bigotry and a beautiful gay wedding

Perhaps the biggest spoiler here: we get a gay wedding! I was so surprised and thrilled to see Daichi and Madoka decide to marry--and not without some stumbles--and bring the Okita family so fully into their joy. What a beautiful way to end a gorgeous show. I will miss all of these people dearly.

Shit I’ve noticed during my clone wars rewatch and my interpretation (very Obi-Wan focused because he’s my favorite character lmao):

(Includes spoilers obviously)

+ I love this show to bits, but it has horrible issues with consistency. Every other episode there is a new weapon or something introduced and we’ll never see it again. This is very prevalent in especially the first seasons.

+ Obi-Wan is such a fucking enabler. Like he tells Anakin his plans are stupid at least twice during the Malevolence episodes, but then joins him on all of those. It’s literally like: “Anakin this plan is reckless and won’t work, anyways what’s my part in your plan?”

+ Rex running into that metal pipe. I forgot about that and laughed for 20 minutes straight.

+ Anakin pulls a “Are ya winning son?” on Obi-Wan about Ahsoka.

+ I once saw a post that it isn’t confirmed that Obi-Wan and Cody are friends, but you have Obi-Wan literally marveling on how competent the commander is and Cody always going the extra mile to save his general’s ass. To me that’s pretty much a friendship.

+ The Jedi are in general very gentle, but quite touchy. They might not go for hugs, but there is always someone touching someone’s shoulder or waist. And they’re just so fucking kind. I don’t think I ever noticed that as a kid, but they’re so respectful about life and culture and always helping someone. I just love them so much.

+ And I love the understanding and kindness the clones have. They’re soldiers and programmed to kill, but they’re also good people in most cases. I just wanna hug most of them.

+ My mother told me I cried as a child during the episodes with the Zillo beast. Well, I didn’t cry again, but I’m still so fucking mad at Palpatine for putting that poor creature in that position. If he just had listened to Mace Windu (more of the characters should actually, just saying) that poor animal wouldn’t have killed people and found its end like that.

+ Mortis is quite hated by the fandom but for me it’s a defining showcase of Obi-Wan’s, Anakin’s and Ahsoka’s relationship. I’ve seen people in the fandom saying that Anakin would’ve turned out differently if Obi-Wan would’ve told him he’s proud and took care of his feelings. This episodes literally show that he does exactly that and Anakin still doesn’t give a shit.

+ Anakin tells the son in his dream, that he’ll never come to the dark side willingly. Only to walk over to the literal manifestation of the dark side like 10 minutes later to save Ashoka. I came to the conclusion that the only way to tempt him was by promising to save his loved ones. I still think it was a really awful and greedy thing to become Vader for that, but I must admit it’s a noble character trait to put others first.

+ Kit Fisto doesn’t have nipples. Therefore I’ve concluded he’s isn’t a mammal and hatched from an egg like Nemo the clownfish. (And no, that isn’t a animation thing, Rex does have nipples when his shirt is off).

+ The discussion with my gf about Kit Fisto nipples and Star Wars biology also touched the topic of “how does Maul use the bathroom”. My conclusion is: he has a stoma, because the lower abdomen, where that would be, is always covered.

+ Hardcase mentions he is hyperactive. I now see him as my favorite ADHD clone, because having ADHD myself I can fucking relate.

+ I forgot Waxer died on Umbara and bawled my eyes out. Waxer is one my favorite clones and when he cried while dying I just couldn’t take it.

+ My friend spent the entire Umbara arc just simping for the clones (mostly Jesse), while I was suffering. So maybe they look hot or something for people attracted to men in this episodes.

+ In the episode after the Umbara the duo usually consisting of Waxer and Boil is sent out, but this time it’s just Boil and I was about to bawl again.

+ For being called “the negotiator” Obi-Wan gets his ass beat quite a lot after his “negotiations” (aggressive flirting).

+ While I’ll never forgive Obi-Wan for doing that Raako Hardeen shit, I nearly pissed myself when the Ziro the Hutt’s ex gf is flirting with not one but two women there. Like I didn’t expect her to be the fucking gay rep in clone wars.

+ I’m seriously never forgiving Obi-Wan for that. I can’t get over Ahsoka’s tear filled eyes while she’s holding his corpse. Also she doesn’t seem angry like Anakin just massively sad and disappointed after it is revealed that he’s still alive. Personally I believe she’s starting to doubt the order here.

+ Point three on hating on my favorite character for that shit, I feel like Anakin becomes quieter and less playful after that disaster.

+ Maul is me. He’s obsessed with Obi-Wan and mentions that he has massive problems what is going on inside his head. As a mentally ill person, that makes me feel really seen lmao.

+ The underwater episodes and the ones with Ventress on that train were just the most beautiful worlds I’ve ever seen. Like the planets in general are so beautifully designed in clone wars, I’m so in love.

+ Motherfucking “I said fuck the council and became a child soldier for a rebellion at 13” Obi-Wan Kenobi seems very reluctant on doing it again. There are two entire arcs of him disagreeing on helping rebels. First I didn’t understand, because like dude you literally did this before, but since he talks about his worries about bringing the separatists in or worsen the situation, I think the poor man is just a little bit traumatized.

+ After the events of Onderon I’m pretty sure Ashoka is already filled with doubts about the order, the republic and the war. I also feel like she’s feeling massively led down by Obi-Wan again, which broke my heart because I love their relationship.

+ I just realized he fails Ahsoka a third time, when she is captured by Hondo and Obi-Wan is supposed to help her. Instead he gets attacked by Grievous and is forced to postpone the helping them until they help themselves. I mean it’s not his fault but in Ahsoka’s place that wouldn’t feel good to me.

+ This particular fight with Grievous ignited my love for Obi-Wan again. Before he attacks Grievous he helps an injured clone and when he goes into the fight, Grievous directly kills a clone. Instead of his usual witty remarks, he just goes: “you’re gonna regret that” and jumps Grievous. He just loves his clones as much as I do.

+ One of the most beautiful shots in the entire series for me is in the episode before the droids find Gregor. This WAC droid looks into the desert and it reflects in his eye. Because of the cracks in the desert ground it looks almost like a retina. Beautiful metaphor of combining something artificial and metallic with an organic and almost human part. This was such a fucking raw shot for me, it took my breath away.

+ Tarkin is an asshole, but he’s climbed the asshole latter so hard after he has been mean to Plo Koon.

+ Shotout to Obi-Wan for convincing the order to let Anakin go after Ahsoka. Additionally the whole time he acts in her support only to be shut down by the council. I didn’t remember him doing that so I was surprised.

+ Fives tells the plot with the inhibitor chips to a cab driver. Do you think the cap driver ever thinks back after the war and is like: “Fuuuuuuck”?

+ I kid you not, the clone bar has gender neutral bathrooms (and no, it’s not bc the clones are all male, in the bar are also women). The bathroom are just decided by humans, hutts and a third species I cannot quite recognize.

+ I always say clone wars anakin is better, but Jesus stop acting like a jealous bitch. Padmè deserves an award for putting up with his bullshit. Obi-Wan too. He even tries to give him reassurance by telling him that feelings are not forbidden and Anakin just bitches at him.

+ Obi-Wan casually passing on babysitting duty for Jar Jar fucking killed me (and yes, taking care of Jar Jar is babysitting duty).

+ You could also call the clone wars the exposition wars. Every episode has their one minute exposition in the beginning, but I feel like a lot of the dialogue is used for exposition.

+ Do you think Hunter thought Rex was screwing his general? Because their conversation sounded kinda suggestive and then they trail off to do something secret.

+ Ahsoka going “my older brother thought me”after kicking a guy where it hurts most. I now imagine Anakin going to Ahsoka as soon she got to be his padawan: “Listen up Snips, if you ever facing a creepy guy, you kick them right there”

+ When the sisters make their escape I don’t get why they don’t let Ahsoka fly. She’s clearly the more capable pilot.

+ Controversial opinion: I have a strong dislike for Bo Katan. She’s a fucking terrorist who doesn’t betray the deathwatch when they murder an entire innocent village, no but when there’s Maul trying to take their authority. Says a lot about her character if you ask me.

+ I mcfucking cried when the clones painted their helmets according to Ahsoka’s face markings and my flatmates gf came in and asked me if everything’s alright. I am fucking embarrassing I have seen this scene three times already but I still bawl like a baby.

+ Also my dear Obi-Wan can you quit being an ass? A “hello Ahsoka, nice to see you” wouldn’t have killed you.

+ Through the whole show most of the characters seemed to appear increasingly tired towards the end. Especially Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, but other characters aswell. The only one who seems to stay energized is Anakin. He becomes more serious but I feel like he’s the only one at the end that is still going into battles with full energy. It almost felt like he’s especially thriving in a war scenario which is incredibly sad.

+ The beauty of that last scene with Vader is truly unparalleled. I don’t ever think a tv show can recreate that.

+ I still love this show to bits and I cried 5 times total during that rewatch, shit this was nice.

what i mean to say is that he is great at keeping track of things for you if you struggle with it! time, energy, or just not having the motivation, hes making sure you get what you need even if you cant do it yourself

does his best to get you some extra boost of vitamins and stuff in an attempt to boost your energy/mood, obviously he knows its not going to be a magic fix but its better than nothing.. hes the one cooking though! for reasons that align with the first bullet point!

very straight forward and blunt when asking if theres anything wrong, he can come off as disinterested or annoyed based off of his tone but genuinely hes trying his best to help you open up... jack himself isnt used to opening up so he doesnt have much experience being gentle and soft

easily the most non judgmental person ever, you can tell her nearly everything and shes not going to think of you any differently

hi, i agree with a lot of what you’ve said in your last post about acotar opinions that should be universal - but would you mind not throwing around diagnoses like that of DID with little to no context? i agree that tamlin was acting out of character to some extant, but i attribute that to sjm’s bad writing more than anything else, and i think pathologising the behaviour of a fictional character who’s already so hated (however unjustly) further contributes to the stigma. i don’t think he changed as much as the narrative’s attitude towards him. i’d be interested to know why you think he has DID because i can’t think of anything that would suggest the same. i apologise if i’m coming off as combative, but as someone who takes issue with the ease with which this fandom throws around words like abuse - or pathologies/labels in general, i can’t help but implore you to think twice about this, or at least explain why you hold this opinion, if you don’t mind.

Hello! I am not just making the diagnosis on a whim, I have actually taken psychology courses and Tamlin fulfills many of the DSM-5 symptoms. DID often occurs as a result of severe childhood trauma, and Tamlin, apart from having abusive parents, was sexually harassed as a child by Amarantha which continued long into his adulthood.

I think the age break scenario does personally suit him as a character even more than the personality break.

Because it is at incidences of high intensity. So, not all of the pain he’s suffered is going to result in a crack. But it would build up overtime

For example, leading to the first crack being at childhood meeting with Amarantha, after two years of living with an abusive parent. Which creates a “brain save” in his mind of twelve year old Tamlin. Fast forward to UTM, where I am almost certain Tamlin was raped. Considering he already had past SA from Amarantha, the trauma he experiences UTM is likely to become associated with the experiences of childhood. So the “brain save” of age twelve will then mix with the new age of twenty three / five hundred

And a new crack is formed, creating a need for a new save. Think of it like a computer auto saving. It’s the minds way of seeing a future crash and ensuring that you don’t wake up not knowing who you are. In ACOMAF we see two distinct sides of him. We see one side that is gentle and kind as he was before, and we also see a more violent, panicky side where he seems to be losing control of his magic. If you want to know more, my friend @positivelyruined has actually had DID and recovered from it and she agrees with my diagnosis!

Unpopular opinion: He deserves more love and support from the fandom. Just look at him he's just too cute man.

Anyways, we all know that behind his tough shell Jerry is actually a fluff ball. So it's no problem socializing and befriending him out of pure kindness. He's super nice to everybody trust me (except from his enemies of course).

Like most of the boys, Jerry likes kind and humble women. He's also attracted to very short ones since he founds them really cute especially if they're the same age as him. He's the type to give you piggy backs when you're legs hurt from walking 🥺. He'll also the type to be protective and he'll always walk you to home after school too.

He would also appreciate your friendly personality especially when you don't judge him by his looks. Most people were pretty scared of him since he doesn't look like a "normal student" or the others often mistaken him as a father lol. He still can't help but to be a bit insecure sometimes but he just brushes these things off making him more a bit confident about himself. So being a warm goofball, being loyal and honest to him can really catch his attention and you can form a special bond with him.

Headcannon: Like Eli, Jerry also likes women who can be helpful in the kitchen/household chores. Because of the Workers always creating trouble, it's hard for him to relax and rest so cooking his comfort food for him makes him happy. He'll also bake with you if he has the free time!

This mochi looking guy is super gentle with you which facades his tough persona when he's out to protect Jake, Big Deal and especially his sweet, kind and polite girlfriend of course. He's also warm and cuddly like a teddy bear so there's no problem with hugging him! (He'll often ask for permission if he can hug you. Respect).

Jace Park (Park Bum Jae)

Another one who's underrated af. Like I want to give this man a hug (and also child support).

To be honest he's not the type to look out or approach women. Heck, he'll be the type to say that he would rather die than stay on the Earth with only one girl who he doesn't even know. But we all know that he's a hopeless romantic deep inside. So his chances with getting a girlfriend can be pretty low (it's just his self esteem getting in the way).

But he can't help but to stay at a woman's side when she's nice, gentle, smart and fun to hang out. He can really relate and look up to a girl who seems to be relatable. You can form a special relationship with him if you're the type to read books or if you're the type to be chatty with new interesting ideas and theories with entertaining topics. With these traits like this you can easily get Jace's attention. But after that incident when the girl he was crushing on was actually a spy, his trauma just got worse.

Headcannon: He has trust issues to almost everybody. The only ones he has faith in was no other than Vasco and Burn Knuckles since he has devoted his heart on his gang that he can consider a loving family now (also Allied but not too much he's just helping them out for business). So what's the most important fundamental on a woman for him is that having a trust-worthy girlfriend. It just warms him up more and made him willing to socialize with others. It will take a lot of times to actually approach him since he's already being cautious. But knowing that Jace is smart and it's just his feelings getting in the ways sometimes, he might start talking to you.

And we all know that he's been bullied, used and hurt a bunch of times. And not wanting to appear as vulnerable and weak, he often has to put on this tough persona. But having a girlfriend whom he can trust and who will actually listen to his problems/attentive/good listener can make his stress less worse. And of course, if he really loves and appreciates you a lot he's willing to listen to your problems too and give the best advices that he can give.

He's also insecure about his ears. So having a someone who's standards in looks are not too high can boosts his confidence. He really likes it when you play with his ears despite him denying it. He doesn't like other people touching him but if it's massages coming from his someone I'm pretty sure he can't resist it. He loves your soft hands but it just depends on his mood honestly. If he's working/studying it can be a bit annoying if you start being clingy but he can't control himself from cuddling with you either. "Wow, Jace your ears are so soft like marshmallows." you fondled with your "best friend's" ears as he is reading a book. "Y/N... I'm doing something important." he groans as you won't stop playing with his ear lobes, but it honestly feels good. I hate him at first for bullying Duke but I kin him so much lol.

Unpopular opinion: I think Vin would like women who are up to his standards. If you have a pretty face, cool vibes, nice ass and big tits he'll be chasing after you lol. He's also pretty toxic especially if it's the start of the Lookism series. He let his anger take over him so he really needs someone who's emotionally strong, mature and understanding.

He also really hates whiny girls (the ones who tries to act cute but ends up being cringy lol). There's times that he may get turned on by this but if a woman act like this most of the times he'll get agitated. So just be yourself.

Vin also likes women who share his humor. Like if you're the type to make sex jokes or dark humor a lot (y'know the memes that you can watch on Youtube), he'll definitely be more relaxed and composed around you.

He also likes stubborn and competitive women (especially the ones who's shorter than him who acts so tough lol). He really gets entertained if you started challenging him about stupid things. We all know he's insecure about having his pupil hyperplasia. He'll started softening up if he has a "girl friend" who will not make fun about his eye disease.

He also really likes women who can be easily teased. Especially when you deny that you really like him even when you act like an asshole to him lmao. "C'mon Y/N I know you find me hot. Just ask me out on a date already." he smirk as he can see the blush on your cheeks getting darker. "F-FUCK OFF WILL YOU! I DON'T HAVE A CRUSH ON YOU!" God, most absolutely!! Being a Christian & letting God lead me has affected my life in really big, powerful, important ways. I love being a Christian & I love being able to have a relationship between the God who created the stars <3 and the sheep!! He’s given me a sense of confidence and security that I don’t think I would have otherwise, and He’s also gifted me with a love & empathy for people, a gift that I deeply appreciate. He created the whole big world and He created me with such purpose & detail & love <3 I’m very grateful to walk with Him :)

MY FRIENDS!!! My whole journey with friendship/being friendless/making friends, really. It’s been one heck of a journey and it’s shaped my life so deeply; the close friends that I have now are one of the absolute most treasured & dear & important parts of my life, 100% <3 They’ve shown me love, compassion, kindness, gentleness… all my friends, in different ways, have helped to heal me after years of loneliness & exclusion, and I’m endlessly grateful for it.

eating my favorite sandwich :) I make it in a very specific way with very specific ingredients/brands and oh my gosh. best sandwich in the whole world. It’s Canyon Bakehouse (my favorite gluten-free bread brand!) country white or mountain white bread, a very thin layer of mayonnaise on one side, one slice of colby jack cheese, and one slice of honey deli ham. Genuinely I feel so happy whenever I get to eat this sandwich (which has been at least once every day for the past several weeks, and I am not planning to quit anytime soon :) FAVORITE SANDWICH!!!

organizing things :) I recently went through all the posts I’ve reblogged about autism and re-tagged them with new organizational labels, and oh my gosh it was SO FUN!!! I have a bazillion playlists on spotify because I want Everything to be organized and put in the right spot, and at work I really really like being able to organize things like bookmarks & stuffed animals!! None of my coworkers spend time organizing those things, so it’s always satisfying when I do it & get to bask in the glorious sorted-ness once I’m finished :) When I was younger I used to organize my family’s DVD/bluray collection for fun lol, and I kept all the library books I checked out Super organized & neat so that I knew exactly where everything was! I truly do find organizing so fun, it makes me happy :)

I shall talk about a dear irl friend 💙 She was the first person to really befriend me irl after I’d spent about seven years friendless and lonely, so… she’s special :’)

she loooves the Lord and is very firm in her faith!! Whenever I have a big prayer request I almost always go to her, because I know she’s strong in her faith & will respond in amazing godly ways. She’s comforted me in the past by sharing specific pieces of Scripture with me <3

SHE IS SUCH A GOOD ARTIST LIKE OMG!!! She does traditional art and she has such a good style!!! I get very excited whenever she shows me her art :D

she is honest <3 Which is not all that common of a trait in people nowadays. I know that she’s not going to lie or sugarcoat things; she will tell the truth, and she will be honest about how she feels & what she thinks—but she doesn’t do it in ways that come across as cruel! He's a super talented writer and while he's collaborated with other writers like Mitchell and Webb and Armando Iannucci before, I still think his best stuff is his solo stuff.

But where to start? Behold! I shall now recommend a different Double Act (that is, a different episode of his radio series of excellent half-hour two-hander comedies) for every kind of person who has reacted in literally any kind of way to Good Omens.

While my favorite hobby is to write for little known/underappreciated canon Rohirrim (which means they function much like OCs because Tolkien gave us so little), I do also create my own people along the way. There are a *bunch* in my current Guthláf and Wídfara fic, mostly background friends and family of my main (canon) guys. But my most substantive Rohirrim OCs are women, since Tolkien gave us almost none of them.

Éomer was married to Mereliss in my world (my one real canon deviation!). She was Elfhelm’s daughter and was Éomer’s best friend from the time he moved to Edoras as a boy. They got married after the war, and (since he learned a thing or two about not putting women in a box) she wielded real power as queen. I’ve got nothing against Lothíriel and enjoy a bunch of interpretations of her, but I’ve always wanted to see Éomer with a strong Rohirrim woman – I feel like Rohan shouldn’t need to keep going to Gondor to get queens for themselves!

Théodred was engaged to Eadlin at the time of his death. She was a flower merchant from Aldburg who didn’t even meet Théodred until they were both in their late 30s. She came to live with him during their engagement (they were both old enough to be over being told what to do), and she was a real ride-or-die for him – if she ever thought you had hurt him in any way, she’d have nothing to do with you ever again. She was the first to connect the dots that Gríma was involved in Théodred’s death, and he had her imprisoned as a result. Éomer got her out, but she left Edoras embittered toward Théoden and unwilling to hang around where her memories of Théodred were most vivid and painful.

Bryttalif was married to Háma. She was a midwife in Edoras whose father was a big deal in the king’s guards. When Háma and Brytta met, she was pregnant herself and unmarried (an unhappy story she does not like to go into) so she was a bit of a scandalous figure. But she and Háma hit it off right away, as he immediately recognized her kindness and gentle spirit. He adopted her daughter as his own when they got married, and they had another on the way when he was killed at Helm’s Deep. Brytta was there (midwives are good at pain management and triaging bleeding problems, so she was asked to come along to help deal with the wounded), but was prevented from seeing his dead body because it had been so desecrated. She was crushed but slowly put herself back together, raised their kids, and kept working, and eventually she delivered Éomer and Mereliss’s first baby.

What are your thoughts on preboot Garth vs reboot Garth? You seem to be one of the only people who like reboot Garth. What is appealiong about him?

Well, "like" might be a strong word.

It's really no surprise that I'm saying this, but Reboot Garth has NOTHING on Preboot Garth. Let's not kid ourselves and pretend that Preboot Garth isn't superior in literally every conceivable way.

Preboot Garth is such an incredible character. He is kind, gentle, smart, and powerful. He is emotionally impactful and occupies a space that is so specifically Him that no other character could fill it. He is so compelling, so relatable, and frankly he's downright adorable too! When I have been at some of my lowest points in life, he's been a character that I've grown up alongside and used as an example of emotional strength to help me stand back up and carry on despite the anxiety and sadness and pressure. Truly, he is one of my comfort characters of all time. His story and the things he can do are also extremely interesting!

Magic ✔️

Eye blasts ✔️

Diplomacy ✔️

Like 50 other things that he forgot to mention that he can do, but totally can ✔️

So you may be wondering then, why I still like Reboot Garth who is… hardly at all like what I just described. And my answer to that is: I don't know.

You would certainly be right to say that for the most part*, Rebirth Garth is nothing like his pre-n52 counterpart. (*World's Finest: Teen Titans was the closest we've gotten. It was kind of nice in regards to Garth, with the exception of a few gripes I have here and there.) And you'd be right to be upset about it. I know I am. Quite often, to be honest.

But for some reason I just can't bring myself to fully condemn Rebirth Garth. At the end of the day, I'm in fandom to have fun, you know? And if I spend all my time hating something that's out of my control… well what good does that do me? At this point, I feel like I've resigned myself to the knowledge that I simply will not be getting what I want in regards to Garth, and so I've turned to becoming a bemused spectator at the things happening in current comics. I can still become excited about it when I DO manage to find a bit that I like. There was a post a while back that went something like,

"N52 and Rebirth suck except the parts that I like. And those bits I'll toss into a blender, puree, and mix in with preboot canon."

Yeah, that. Basically, when it comes to Reboot Garth, (in my own head) I ignore the reboot and then blend up the little bits I enjoy to create the utopian world of Canon+. And from my little imaginary perch, I can choose to still enjoy this character who has taken my blorbo's name, but sadly isn't really him.

With how changeable comics are as a medium though, I do also believe that there will be a writer someday who is willing to do the legwork necessary to bring Garth back around to being the blorbo I once knew. Some currently canon things will definitely have to be tossed out, but hey, that's the nature of comics!

That said tho, I think another one of the things that prevents me from disliking him is (surprisingly) the design. It's a controversial take amongst Garth fans for sure, but I honestly like it for the most part. There are a few things I'd tweak to make him look like more of an extension of Preboot Garth (CURLY HAIR, PLEASE), but there are a lot of elements that I just so happen to find aesthetically appealing and thus don't really mind. That isn't to say that Garth didn't already look fucking incredible, because he ABSOLUTELY did. I'm just not that bothered, I guess haha!

KINDCEMBER DAY ONE!!!

Hi I saw this thing that @theinfamousmaybelle (I HOPE ITS OKAY I TAGGED YOU) was doing about saying something nice about each of the characters in TSBS on your list every day in December and I wanted to join!!!

EARTH!!!! You all I cannot tell you how much I absolutely ADORE Earth. I went on an angry tangent in my last post so I'm trying to make this lighter and nice >:3

Earth is first and foremost so so p r e t t y (/p)

Like every piece of fanart I have ever seen about her is just absolutely stunning. She looks like a freaking model and she is so gorgeous. Especially like, human fanart where they make her BIPOC with Vitiligo? SO PRETTY. Her model is so pretty too, I love all of her outfits, they're honestly how I dress some days so it's so silly to put on a outfit and be like OMG I LOOK LIKE EARTH /POS

Her voice is so sweet and comforting to me, especially as a kid growing up with a lisp seeing characters who have one is so amazing to me. While hers has faded a bit throughout Earth's changes as a character, she's still such an icon and definitely someone who makes me feel less self conscious about my own voice.

Now onto her character itself

GRAHHHHH /VVPOS

Earth's lore is so so incredible. I'm still working on getting through it all, because i'm getting back into this fandom after quite a while. I don't know most of her original lore but I'm mostly up to date on the current lore.

Earth is such an amazing representation of so many issues, especially the issues of daughters in families with generational trauma. (Coming from a AFAB in a family with similar issues. Minus the magic. and the murder.)

Earth's need to please her father goes on for so long, until she finally realizes that he didn't even *want* her. He never cared about her, he just wanted something from her. and Oh My Gods that hurt.

(Can you tell I kin her yet)

Earth tries to help everyone, she acts as a therapist for so long, helping even people who have hurt her and her family with their issues from a view as unbiased as she can get. She tries to help lunar, even when he's being an absolute DICK, and that ends with her getting hurt, but she is trying her best. She tries to support her brothers, giving her own time and energy to caring for Sun when nearly everyone else leaves. She takes so much onto her back and puts so much pressure on herself because nobody else is doing it.

Her relationships with other characters is so amazing too because like. Her and Monty? SO WHOLESOME I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

Monty and Earth are both traumatized, they both have issues, but she is still there for them, and vice versa. They both support and care for each other, raising their daughter together (daisy the iconic bunny).

Earth is still kind and gentle with Eclipse, calling him her friend and trying her very best to get him to open up to her.

Earth and Sun are probably the closest, with the two of them taking turns supporting each other as they need. They're both very broken, and are the ones struggling with Nexus's death the most, but they're sticking together through it.

Earth and Moon are so silly together and I love them, Moon is so gentle with her, even when it isn't really in his nature, but he's trying to be his best for her because he knows that she deserves that.

Solar feels like the oldest of the brothers, and Earth definitely looks up to him which is so sweet. He may have issues with his own emotions and portraying them, but he does care about her, and she knows that.

Earth and Lunar may have their issues now, but as a pair they are such an adorable sibling dynamic. They play games together and Earth supports him just like she does everyone else, even when lunar is struggling and pulling away from her, because at their base they are still siblings and they will still be there for each other. And lunar describes her as the most important person to them.

Earth and Nebula my beloved. We don't get to see a lot of them, I imagine it's hard as fuck playing two different characters talking to each other, especially with such different personalities, but Kat does it so well! Nebula is the type where you can tell she hasn't had many, if any friends. She seems to get talked down to by a lot of the Astrals, just a tool to go do tasks for Taurus and Aries (I think?). But here's Earth who welcomes her into her life and invites her to hang out, tries to get her to open up, on her own time, doesn't pressure her, it's so so amazing.

Earth with her Niece and Nephew is so cute, she's made to be a caretaker so seeing her with Jack and Dazzle is adorable because Dazzle looks up to her as another girl in the family, I love imagining Earth doing Dazzle's hair and getting her all dressed up, getting to do like. Basic Girl things. Because regardless of gender stereotypes, Dazzle having another girl in the family is so important. Dazzle is at her core a pretty feminine person, she likes dress up and playing games and she's so precious, she reminds me of myself a lot as a kid. And of course she also knows how to make a rusty nail gun with Jack and she likes playing in the mud and doing things that aren't "Girly" by sexist stereotypes, but having another girl in the family she can look up to and do those things with? So adorable. I love them <33333

Earth in general is such an amazing character and as a person who struggles a lot with balancing femininity and masculinity as a genderfluid person, having fem rep in a fandom I love as much as LAES is so so amazing. She's such a girlboss and she has physically punched a god (by his permission but still) actually pushing him around, which people don't talk about enough I think.

She deserves none of the hate she gets because she is such a beautiful example of PTSD, being a daughter, being a victim of manipulation and @\bus3, chronic pain, mental illness, healthy communication and relationships, and doing what you love.

Earth Deserves Better.

What are your thoughts on Alaric Saltzman?

Not annoying at all! I love asks. I'm probably going to post anyway so asks just give me a direction to start talking in!

Alaric Saltzman is one of those characters who would have benefitted from staying dead.

Throughout TVD

He comes onto the show as this really great character. He's one of the few humans who knows about the supernatural world and is able to protect the teens better because of it. I love that he really becomes a parental figure to Elena and Jeremy. This time in TVD was really peak. I loved him and Jenna. I thought the conflict between Jenna not knowing plus Isobel coming back was so interesting. I really wanted Jenna to survive as a vampire and get to see that play out. All and all, I really enjoyed his character.

The storyline with the Gilbert ring was really interesting too. And how Esther was tied into it before even entering the show. But to me he should have stayed dead after he died when Elena died. It didn't feel like his character was ever as necessary again or as good. And this is coming from someone who loves him and Jo. But the whole "turning human from being saved in the 'no magic' zone" just seemed to go against the rules of the show. If it was that easy, we would see so many more people doing it. Also why wouldn't they have done it for Elena who desperately wanted to be human? I know she does enter it to get her memories back but they didn't have a doctor with her trying to save her. It just feels like they would have tried it on more people. Or what about Caroline? I know the fandom likes her better as a vampire, but she didn't even get a chance to want to be human again. I digress.

Where he starts going downhill for me, is really after Jo's death. Which is kind of understandable, but he just never recovers. After Jo dies, he goes on a spiral to try and bring her back. Again, understandable given how he lost her and the babies. I even like how gentle he was with the soul they accidentally put into Jo. But he's not really helpful to the plot at this point. If anything, he is the reason everything with the phoenix stone happened. He asked 20 year old Bonnie to get invovled, knowing it was dark magic and knowing Bonnie's history with dark magic. He was willing to risk her sanity and safety to bring back Jo. He never even apologized for it at any point. I get he was desperate, but this just highlights the rest of his character throughout TVD and Legacies. He is constantly willing to do anything to keep himself safe. It's almost like he thinks less of supernatural creatures. Like they don't deserve his consideration.

This is shown with how he treats Caroline throughout the pregnancy and after the twins are born. The fact that he doesn't even really consider what sacrifice it is for Caroline. She puts her life on hold to have his children, risking her life, and then even more after they are born to help him raise them. And then when it gets too hard, he wants to take them away from her, claiming they were never hers. I get he wanted to get them out of harms way, but they are siphoner witches, they are inherently supernatural. He wanted to remove them completely from the supernatural world with no way to teach them. I also just try to block out any type of romantic relationship between Alaric and Caroline. This was clearly just forced by the writers to cause conflict. It was clear neither of them really were into it.

I feel like in the last season we get a little bit of early Alaric back. We get to see him working with students again. But again, this easily could have just gone to a new character.

Throughout TO

His role in TO made near no sense. I've said it before, and I know I've seen others talk about it. But it would have been great for Tyler to be invovled (I think he was dead already, but his death was pointless and shouldn't have happened). It could have been anyone helping Elijah and Marcel find the Hollow bone. It would have made more sense for it to be a supernatural being considering how important the mission was. Everyone makes fun of Matt for surviving, but seems to be okay with Alaric surviving as long as he did when he's actively putting himself in these situations.

The only reason he was brought onto TO was to talk about Legacies. Again, ignoring plot to promote the next project.

Throughout Legacies

Alaric taking over a magical boarding school has to be the dumbest plot throughout TVDU. How is everyone alright with two humans (him and Dorian) running a school for magical beings. Again, I have not seen Legacies, but I've been told that he puts misbehaved students in a prison world?? Also the fact that Hope nearly kills him. They needed to have a supernatural person running the school who, first knew what they were going through, and two had the ability to protect the students and the school. Alaric's protection was throwing his teenage students at the monsters and hoping for the best. It's sad because most of these kids are there because they don't have anyone looking out for them, so Alaric takes advantage of this. He was supposed to be the one looking out for them.

The fact that the fandom all agrees that Hayley, Elijah, and Klaus were killed in TO because they never would have let the plot of Legacies happen shows just how bad it was.

And every scene I see with Alaric talking to Hope is just him reminding Hope of who her father is. How is that helpful? Children are not their parents and behavior doesn't function that way. If anything, he had more influence over Hope than Klaus since he was with her throughout her life more. I get Alaric's anger against the Mikaelsons and specifically Klaus, but he was the one that lobbied for Hope to come to the school. He told Hayley he would protect her. It breaks my heart that Hope felt like she didn't have a piece of her mom because she was turning into her dad. But with Alaric telling her that every five minutes no wonder.

I will also never get over how he treated his children. I know Lizzie stans tend to hate Josie because of how she responded to Lizzie's mental health, but that's learned behavior. Josie is a teenager and we see (I think) throughout Legacies, that she and Lizzie get closer and do better. From one of the early episodes I did watch, I remember Alaric is outside training Hope (we never see him train his own children) and Josie comes out and makes a snide comment about Lizzie. Alaric doesn't correct it or anything. He just goes and calms Lizzie down. But how is Lizzie not on medication or seeing someone regularly. They have a witch counselor, but for the most part it doesn't seem to be helping her. I don't blame the students or Josie for not knowing how to handle Lizzie because it's clear that it is learned behavior from Alaric (and even Caroline) not knowing how to handle Lizzie.

Also, Matt Davis being the worst and yet JP et al. kept inviting him back?? It just shows how toxic the set was. I wish they would have overhauled and got a new creative team before Legacies to protect the cast, but that wasn't the networks priority. It's a big reason I don't stream anything in the TVDU or anything JP has worked on.
