I don’t really think the angst is corny; you portray the characters really well and the darker atmosphere with limited or no colours makes me personally process it more. You write it extremely well too, it’s similar to poetry and I think that makes it better. You don’t need a lot of words to make the piece dark. That’s just how I feel though and either way I love all of your work:)
