Nearly at ten!!!! Prophet story continues... a discussion on prophets!

“Now, here’s my question,” she said conversationally. “Did prophets actually predict the future?”

Theo blinked, several times in rapid succession. “I’m sorry?”

“Well, think about it.” She was bustling about the kitchen unit, her back to him, but voice raised for him to easily hear. “Say you’re told that your daughter will be a successful investor when she’s born. As she grows up, you push her towards… I don’t know, stocks, or housing, or business, and anything to help her understand it. As a result, she’s much more equipped to delve into investments, and has a much higher chance of being successful in that field, than those who weren’t given that push and support. Is it a true prophecy? Or is it a self fulfilling prophecy?”

“Um,” he said awkwardly. “I don’t… think that’s quite how it works?”

“Worked,” Raya injected. Her arms were still crossed, her face still sour, stung from the welcoming comment. “How it worked.”

“Right,” Theo said. “It - it wasn’t usually… that specific, was it? That’s… too long-term. That’s just… grooming for a profession, really. Prophecies can be…” he struggled for the right word. “Bigger?”

The woman’s smile leeched into her words. “Of course, dear,” she agreed. “But when it comes to people? I’d dare say their dreams are more… a push.”

“I suppose we can never truly know,” Raya said wisely. “Those times have come and gone.”

Finally started making ocs again and it truly is the most evil thing ever that if I want more content of the little guys in my head, then I have to make it myself.

What do you mean that if I want to see them do stuff and interact then I gotta pick up a pen and draw it myself.

I've been far too spoiled with big fandoms that have thousands of fan artists. Now it's just me and like 2 other friends building this shit from the ground up.

But hey, at least I finally get to practice writing some more. And who knows, maybe this will be what finally gives me the motivation to actually learn to draw
