"Detainees at the Bluebonnet immigrant detention center in the small city of Anson, Texas, sent the outside world a message this week: S-O-S.
With a Reuters drone flying nearby, 31 men formed the letters in the dirt yard of the facility on Monday.
Ten days earlier, dozens of Venezuelan detainees at the center were given notices by immigration officials that alleged they were members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua and subject to deportation under a wartime law, according to documents shown to Reuters, recorded video calls and court proceedings."

I adore it whenever rook rests their hands on their hips like a handyman or mechanic about to deliver some bad news as to how much the repairs are going to come in at. the hero equivalent of a plumber. they're out there saving the world with the gently beleaguered air of an overworked janitor and I quite simply love that for them

A B.C. mom is pleading for help after her daughter was detained in the United States over an incomplete visa. Alexis Eagles, of Abbotsford, said her 35-year-old daughter Jasmine Mooney entered the U.S. at the San Ysidro border crossing between Mexico and San Diego on March 3 with an incomplete application for a Trade NAFTA work visa. She said U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested Mooney and she spent three nights in the detention centre. Mooney has not been charged with any crime and does not have a criminal record, she said.

I always had this sense of dread around Reputation TV in a way that was hard to describe — especially having been on tumblr through that era, as well as the drought, it felt like such a special and precious time that made me feel a sort of protectiveness about the album. And it feels very special to me that she feels some version of that too, that she wants to preserve that memory as it is.

percy needs to be haunted by bianca's ghost more
#percy jackson#bianca di angelo#she doesn't even have to do it herself#he is just trapped in the horror of watching someone die and never recovering from the guilt that follows#like i thin we should talk more about how she was the first permanent death of the series and the first death he really witnessed#i think he should be more deranged by it tbh#painfully devoted to nico's health and happiness in a way that skips the border of unhealthy and jumps straight into fucked up#even better if bianca doesn't care. and nico has moved on. so the only person who is stuck in this void of misery about it is percy#and he can't emerge. no matter what he does no matter the time that passes she is always there in the back of his mind#a reminder of the first time he failed to protect someone else.#a reminder of his selfishness. his inability to follow through on promises. of his powerlessness. his uselessness.#in tbotl he finds out that nico doesn't care about him or his soul. he doesn't want percy dead. and percy is weirdly gutted by this#he needs nico to hate him and it freaks him out that nico doesn't. he's clearly upset but percy isn't centered in it the way you'd think.#nico has his own mission and percy is barely a side note in it and he's so bothered by that. it drives him up the wall#how selfish is it to be upset with someone for not hating you because you got their sister killed?#he hates himself so much. he wants to die so bad. but he can't. he has to keep going. for nico. for bianca. he doesn't have a choice#happy talks pjo#okay it is 3:36am and i am. going to try to sleep now

struck by the image of liv putting a hand on wendells back in the last scene of nsbu. its such a small detail, but theres so much to unpack there.
liv just spent several days as kingskin, gigantic, powerful (physically and socailly), completely self-assured. hands big enough to crush a man's skull. and she was comfortable in that body, not hesitsting to use that strength or size. liv was more comfortable being kingskin than she ever was just being herself.
and then, leaving the movie, probably still reeling from the sudden change (and stuck back in her body that feels more alien than kingskin's did, that feels too small, too weak), liv puts a hand on wendell's back. a tiny, subtle, but present act of control and power. not over wendell neccessarily, just in general. a way to say, i support you with my strength. something liv could do as kingskin. something she can't do as liv. something she wants back, maybe.

to say people withholding their vote in America aren't 'pragmatic' enough is so dismissive. as a fellow European like idk what I would've done either if I was an American.
Otherwise I would be sorry to be dismissive but in this situation I think it is completely acceptable, if not necessary, to vote for the lesser evil. Voting is not about your inner true values, it is about society, and especially in the American setting where you essentially have only two options, you need to be able to make hard decisions. If you're seriously indicating that on the whole Harris is bad as Trump, you need to take a cold hard look at the reality of the matters at hand. Harris is not ideal, and it hurts to vote for her especially when you think about Gaza, but Trump is a fascist and his supporters in the Republican party are dangerous to democracy and human rights. This is not a situation where you get to opt out. Not voting is a vote for Trump.

do any of the kids prefer zoro over sanji? (or any of the crew) im kinda worried baby 3 would find sanji more detached and zoro more fun to play with
That is definitely something that will happen! There are videos on YouTube about the 'still face experiment' that shows quite well how distressed babies and toddlers get if their caretaker doesn't show emotion/ isn't engaging with them; so it's actually good for baby 3 that there is someone it can latch on to! And while I think Sanji tries to smile (not because he feels like it, but in a conscious effort, he knows at least some of that) and is engaging with the kids, it's good that he has backup, it's really needed. And I don't think Sanji is at a place in the beginning where he's hurt by that (that comes later) and baby 3 might still be nursing, so it's not like they don't have no bonding time at all.

Two German teens were denied entry to the U.S. in Honolulu.
Despite having ESTA approval, the travelers were detained overnight and deported to Tokyo.
Germany recently updated its travel guidance, advising citizens to be prepared for questioning at the U.S. border.
Corrections & Clarifications: An earlier headline did not reflect new information from Customs and Border Protection.
A pair of German teenagers said they were turned away at the border in Honolulu last month because they were unable to present lodging confirmation to Customs and Border Protection officers, though the agency said they were turned away because they intended to perform work prohibited by their visas.
The incident was first reported by Ostsee-Zeitung, a major German daily newspaper.
