God and Insecurities
God placed this on my heart to talk about so I'm going to share.
I know sometimes it often feels hard to feel beautiful. Throughout middle school and parts of high school, I felt ugly and unwanted. I watched many boys and girls have crushes on my friends, and I watched my friends go through relationships. I saw them being complimented and desired. When I would hang out with my friends people would come up to them and compliment them saying, oh you're very pretty/beautiful while I was happy for my friend I was also envious and a little disheartened that no one came up and said that to me. It can be easy to pick apart your looks and wonder why no one likes you. It can be easy to zone in on your nose, weight, eyes, hair, etc. and feel ugly. As a black girl in predominantly white spaces, I began to feel insecure about my hair and other Afrocentric features. But our worth and beauty are not determined by the attention of others. Psalm 139 is a beautiful passage, outlining how well God knows you in the present, future, and before you were even born. God created you in His image. The creator who made the most beautiful animals, flowers, mountains, oceans, stars, planets, etc. made you not those in His image.
When you feel ugly or even just mediocre, remember who made you.
Psalms 139: 13-14 "For it was you who created me in my most inward parts; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I will praise you because I know I have been beautifully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderous I know this well."
Christian boy or girl, man or woman, know this God loves you, whenever He looks at you He thinks that you are very good. A masterpiece, His wonderful creation.
The world's beauty standards are constantly changing. In the 90s it was in to be super skinny and now it's in to be super curvy and even get BBLs. Do not feel you need to keep up with the world's standards when just by existing in your own body you are keeping up with the Lord's.

God is testing our hypocrisy, revealing the truth behind what we say and how we live. As it says in Matthew 15:8, 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.' We may hide from others, but not from God. He sees our hearts, like it says in 1 Samuel 16:7, 'People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' We are called to live out our faith, not just speak it. James 1:22 reminds us to be 'doers of the word, not hearers only.' Through these trials, God refines us, testing our hearts like silver in the furnace (Proverbs 17:3).

Abortion is Murder & Unbiblical
The Bible does not use the word abortion. How could it? The term itself as a procedure wasn't invented yet! However, the Bible does cover: 
Humanity's inherent value and rights as (uniquely among creation) made in the image of God
Murder
Child/infant murder as something abhorrent to God
Life's beginnings, indirectly (although that also has biological support) 
Legal ramifications of killing a child in the womb 
How God sees and interacts with children in the womb 
How we as His followers are meant to treat children 
What He expects us to do for the defenseless and vulnerable (i.e., the most defenseless and vulnerable human imaginable is the one in the womb) 
And how the question of following Him and His Word is what makes or breaks the difference between a Christian and someone who claims the name but is tragically unsaved  Below are some verses and some additional explication (partial credit: @glowsticks-and-jesus)

John the Baptist leaped in Elizabeth’s womb when Mary greeted her cousin (Luke 1:39-45), an example that babies in utero are responsive human beings already aware of the outside world.
The righteous Hebrew midwives at the time of Moses pleased God by saving babies deemed unworthy of life by the authorities of their day (Ex. 1:15-21).
 As an additional note -- these references are included above, but worth a second mention -- it's plain that child sacrifice - child murder - is something that God abhors and explicitly does not command. In summary -- it's possible (although, I believe, it does deprive its proponents of a foundational basis for the value of life) to be both secular and anti-abortion. But it is not possible for a Christian who truly understands their faith, their God, and His Word to be pro-abortion.

🚩 DECIDING WITHOUT PRAYING
(Read Joshua 9:1-15)
The Gibeonites wanted Israel to make a league with them, which was contrary to God's instructions. God had said all the Canaanites were to be destroyed. Unfortunately, the leaders of Israel believed the lying Gibeonites and did as they suggested.
We are no match in ourselves for satan's subtle ways. We can defeat him only as we remember the admonition of Proverbs 3:5-7 to trust in the LORD with all our hearts and to lean not on our own understanding.
We are to acknowledge God in all our ways, and He will direct our paths. It is when we turn to Him that He gives us wisdom.
Israel's problem was that they were presumptuous, acting on the basis of their own wisdom. In our case Christ has been made unto us wisdom, but we must watch.
Be especially careful of decisions that have to be made under pressure. This is an area I have been careful about with regard to my own life, and it has paid off.
When someone comes along and tells me that I have to make a decision right now because the opportunity might be gone by tomorrow, then I am even more on the alert. That kind of argument, particularly with spiritual things involved, could be satan's subtle way of deception.
Many persons have been led from the work of the LORD into side issues because they made decisions suddenly without consulting God.
“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” —Ephesians 5: 15 – 17 (NASB)

AFRICAN PROVERBS AND THEIR MEANINGS
This is a message to my black brothers and sisters
Learn about African proverbs and know your culture is filled with poetry

1) Only a fool tests the depth of a river with both feet.
Meaning: You don’t jump straight into a situation without thinking about it first.
2) Knowledge is like a garden: If it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested.
Meaning: If you don’t make efforts to acquire knowledge then you would not expect to have it and if you do not put the knowledge you have to use, you cannot expect to gain anything from it.
3) Sugarcane is sweetest at its joint.
Meaning: Good and sweet things of life may appear difficult to achieve but in the end, it is worth it.
4) If you offend, ask for a pardon; if offended forgive.
Meaning: This is as simple as it sounds: If you upset someone, apologise to him or her. If someone upsets you, forgive him or her because what goes around, comes around.
5) Don’t set sail using someone else’s star.
Meaning: Avoid copying someone else. Just because someone has been successful in what he/she does should not be what will make you to do the same thing and expect to be successful.
6) The best way to eat an elephant in your path, is to cut him up into little pieces.
Meaning: The best approach to solving a problem is to take it bit by bit; one at a time.
7) A restless feet may walk into a snake pit.
Meaning: If someone is busy doing nothing or is involved in what he does not know about, it is easy for him/her to get into trouble.
8) A chick that will grow into a cock can be spotted the very day it hatches.
Meaning: You can easily foresee the future of something through the character and tell-tale signs it exhibits today.
9) After a foolish deed comes remorse.
Meaning: Feeling sorry always follows a foolish act.
10) A man who pays respect to the great paves the way for his own greatness.
Meaning: What goes around, comes around so whatever you sow, you shall reap.
11) He who does not know one thing knows another.
Meaning: No one knows everything, but everyone knows something.
12) A roaring lion kills no one.
Meaning: You cannot achieve or gain anything by mere sitting around and just talking about it.
13) Do not call the forest that shelters you a jungle.
Meaning: Do not insult someone who is taking care of your responsibility or taking care of you.
14) When a king has good counsellors, his reign is peaceful.
Meaning: What defines a man is the circumstances and people around him and if they are good, he turns out good.
15) It takes a whole village to raise a child.
Meaning: The society is responsible for the moral characters it creates and everyone in a community should be responsible for helping to train a child irrespective of who the parents are; offering correction where they are needed.
16) If a child washes his hands he could eat with kings.
Meaning: If you prepare and allow yourself to be well trained when you have the opportunity, you will achieve a lot and be favoured in due course.
17) The Rain does not fall on one roof.
Meaning: Trouble comes to everyone at one time or another.
18) Life is like a mist or a shadow; it quickly passes by.
Meaning: Life is too short, and you only live it once.
19) Wherever a man goes to dwell, his character goes with him.
Meaning: What defines a man is his character which is, inseparable from him and follows him everywhere he goes.
20) Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped.
Meaning: Don’t look at your mistakes; look at what caused your mistakes, otherwise you may repeat the same mistake again.
He who sees an old hag squatting should leave her alone; who knows how she breathes?
Meaning: You should never interfere in someone's issues, particularly when you do not know anything about them.
Anger against a brother is felt on the flesh, not in the bone. Meaning: You should forget and forgive anything your relatives did to you.
Maize bears fruits once and dies because it is not rooted in the ground. Meaning: You will never get to the top and stay prosperous without a good foundation.
He who will swallow the 'udala' seed must consider the size of his stomach. Meaning: 'Udala' seed is an apple seed. It is never digested in the stomach

Was That A Dream.. Or A Word From God?
Hi y’all, today we are going to discuss prophetic dreams and more specific if our dreams are a word from God or not! We are going to go over 1. Does It Line Up With Scripture 2. Does It Point To Jesus Or Godly Direction? 3. Is It Clear, Or Does It Leave You In Fear/Confusion 4. Does It Stir Your Spirit After Waking 5. Has It Been Confirmed In Prayer Or Through Others? So let’s begin<33
Does It Line Up With Scripture?
God never contradicts His word. If your dream involves something unbiblical, it’s not from Him—no matter how vivid or emotional it felt. God does not speak in contradiction to His own word. The Holy Spirit and the Bible always agree. Even prophetic dreams should leave us into deeper truth, repentance, or awareness, never toward confusion or sin.
Does It Point To Jesus Or Godly Direction?
God doesn’t give prophetic dreams for entertainment. They usually point toward repentance, preparation, or a closer walk with Him. If the dream draws your heart to pray, warn others, or trust God more, it could be prophetic.
God doesn’t only speak through pastors—He can speak through you, especially in a dream, when your defences are down and your heart is still.
Ask yourself: “Is this dream pushing me toward Jesus or away from Him?”
Is It Clear, Or Does It Leave You In Fear/Confusion?
Not every intense dream is prophetic. Some are just emotional leftovers from our day. But even prophetic warnings from God don’t carry fear the way nightmares do—they bring a sense of urgency, not terror. A true dream from God will often carry peace, even if it’s calling you to act.
Fear that causes confusion, panic, or hopelessness isn’t from God.
Does It Stir Your Spirit After Waking?
When a dream from God happens, you know—because it lingers. You don’t forget it an hour later like a normal dream. You might feel a heavy presence, a deep sense of clarity, or like God is still nearby. It might even bring you to ears without knowing why.
These dreams often come with symbols, spiritual themes, or unexplainable peace. Even if you don’t understand them right away, they’ll sit in your heart for days, months or even years.
Has It Been Confirmed In Prayers Or Through Others?
God confirms His voice. You don’t have to guess alone. After a dream, bring it to prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit, “Was this from You?” Many times, God will confirm it through Scripture, a song, or a message at church, or even someone else’s dream or word.
You can also talk to someone wise and spiritually grounded—a Christian mentor, pastor, or parent in the faith. Don’t keep big spiritual dreams to yourself. God often gives pieces of the same message to different people.

ことわざ are Japanese proverbs, and I have listed some basic proverbs, their equivalents in English, and a rough translation of the meanings of the Japanese phrase.
There is a test for ことわざ called the ことわざ能力検定 (ことわざのうりょくけんてい) and these are some of the phrases that appear in level 8 or 8級 (10 being the lowest level). For the time being, try one or two of these out the next time you speak with a native Japanese speaker!

Friday, May 16, 2025
I'm done with my finals and I passed all of them as well as getting top marks in all of my courses for this past year. I am so glad to be done! I still have another week of ballet left and piano with my practical exam on May 28. We also still have some Girl Scout things to wrap up including our bridging ceremony, which I'm helping out our service unit with on the day of the event. That will be May 29. Then I have a weekend camp to prep for one of my summer trips, but mom will be with me at this camp.
I'll get an academic year wrap-up posted sometime this weekend hopefully. Mom needs to confirm all of my grades for the school year before I've officially completed 10th grade, but that's only her signing off on it for her records in case future universities need proof of anything since I'm homeschooled.
