various random headcanons/info for quinnick aka fantasy au five

-physically somewhere in his early twenties. he doesn't remember the exact age he was turned. it's been too long.

-roughly 130+, again the exact age is unknown. he died young, vampiric spawn for around 60+ years and has since been living "free"

-technically a "true" vampire (no longer a spawn, has free will etc etc) but only because he agreed to a warlock pact with his previous mistress, the countess (*coughfantasyhandlercough*). in return for her granting him free will and the power of a true vampire, he'd be pact bound to her, so never truly free from her manipulative grasp

-on the bright side, he mostly serves her as an assassin, taking down her political enemies (or luring in victims for her to consume) etc etc. instead of just. suffering for her entertainment woohoo

-was a wizards apprentice before he died. he'd been a magic prodigy as a child, he was learning from one of the most powerful wizards around (*coughfantasyreggiecough*)

-so? how did he die? to put it simply, mr wizard teacher wasnt a nice guy. so quinnick ended up running away. unfortunately the wizard tower he'd been studying at was in the middle of nowhere and he ended up eventually dying out in the wilderness oof

-so yeah his life has pretty much been pure shit since he left home to learn magic, poor fella

-usually wears all black, it's easier to hide bloodstains that way

-and will typically try and wear something with a high collar/somekind of scarf to hide the bite scar on his neck

-has rather expensive tastes, he's been living in pretty lavish places most of his existence

-has both claustrophobia and arachnophobia. both have been around since childhood, both have been worsened by trauma

-once summoned an eldritch kitten, he named her squid. because of squid he has a soft spot for cats

-very chaotic neutral and very much has a mindset of "i do what i want" simply because he had no free will for a good 60 or so years, he's very much making the most of having a will of his own, even if it is restricted still

-simulateously a pragmatist and a hedonist??? however that works?????

-may or may not have slight stockholm syndrome towards the countess because she considered him her "favorite" spawn 💀ego go brrrrrrrr

-but at the same time he's also plotting to betray her somehow

-has never heard of impulse control (jk, he has, he just ignores it. like he ignores most things telling him what or what not to do)

-rogue/warlock multiclass sort of?? assassin warlock???? magical rogue????? but was a wild magic sorceror in his youth teehee

-casts a daylight protection spell (essentially an invisible magic parasol) so he can walk out in the sun

-but yeah tldr this is a very abused chaotic vampire who hates authority but is actually just a sadboy who wants love 😔✊

ahhh omg ok

-- After Jane moved in with the Byers family Max would be over constantly so the three of them would hang out and watch movies together

-- Max gave them both lots of advice on California (opposite energy of the theory that Max told Mike what to wear to Cali 🤭🤭)

-- and totally threw in a subtle hint that Cali was more accepting of "people who are different" in a way that wouldn't make Will feel like she knew

-- so one day Jane dips to go hang out with Mike on the fly and Will's like "you can stay... if you want" being like super awkward and they have some movie (probably the goonies) on in the background and no one else is home and finally Will's just like "I totally wanted you in the party btw"

-- and they talk about Halloween and he throws in something like "Mike was the only one against it"

-- The second Max realised Will had feelings for Mike (because of this conversation/her remembering how overprotective he is) she goes home and starts banging her head against the wall

-- They then go on and on hating on Mike/Mike and Jane's relationship then comics and stuff and boom friendship

-- Eventually Will is more open to her about what really went on with him, and he also tells her how proud he is of Billy for being able to break free long enough to protect Jane because he's been there. He gets it. It's damn hard. And she shouldn't blame herself for what happened

-- They wrote letters to each other. Not like super frequently, but probably like 10 letters each between October and March.

-- Like, even when she withdrew from Lucas and was being less present with the party in general, she would still send letters to Jane (to check up on her) and Will (to vent, because she knew he would listen without judgement, and without trying to give her advice – and he'd always draw little doodles on his letters to cheer her up)

-- Post apocalypse (Max is fine, but still has some residual stuff going on -- probably blind, still learning how to walk again) and she loves spending time with Will

-- He drew all over her casts (literal masterpieces, but he'll say they were just quick sketches) and she asks the doctors if she can keep them when she finally gets them off

-- She feels like everyone is babying her (Lucas and Jane mostly just feeling guilty) and Will can totally relate to that

-- They saw Tim Burton's Batman in theaters together alone

-- She teaches him how to drive before she even has her license and she blasts the music way too loud

-- Actually they sometimes go on platonic dates where they just drive around with the windows down. It's nice to feel free sometimes.

It's a murder mystery. Aka I can't say too much without spoiling it; but it's set in the English Countryside in the 1940's, and I intend it to be the first installment of novels featuring Teddy and Arden as investigators. Definite "Film Noir" vibes, so a tad melodramatic. 👀

I love reading murder mysteries, so I wanted to write one (or a few) of my own. And a lot of the characters are queer because I said so; and I'm the author, so that legitimately means something for canon!

I was actually inspired by October to create a blog for it – @theteddyandardenarchives – which is why I was looking for asks, so I call fill that blog up with info, especially because I'm not really a moodboard/playlist type person.

I'm still trying to figure out how to Share the Vibes.

There's something called a KOSA Bill in the US. It's a project planning to cut off internet access to ALL CHILDREN WORLDWIDE. This means they are banning Chai/C.AI, Wattpad, AO3, Discord, Tumblr, Tiktok, etc.

To make matters worse, parents will have access to their children's internet activity, meaning chats, websites visited, apps opened, etc. Giving them NO privacy whatsoever. Esp. children who are LGBTQIA+, because in the US, it is deemed "inappropriate".

There is a solution to this, however only to people who have Tiktok, there is a user named omarsbigsister, if you check their profile, you can see in their bio it says "STOP KOSA!! ⬇️⬇️"

So for those of you who don't know, I participated in the 2022 Miraculous Ladybug Big Bang! (go read my fic on AO3 please it's linked in my pinned post)

My original idea for the fic I was going to write for it was a Catwalker/Nino fic (...which, I have like two more of those sitting around in the brain so maybe I just really want to write one of those...) and the idea was fun but I overplotted it and lost my enthusiasm. I did start writing it and I love what I wrote for it and I'm going to transform it into an entirely different fic but yeah
