I made a lot fewer games in VX Ace, in comparison to 2003 or MV, but this is when I started using scripts to customize the game in ways that weren't possible previously through events. I spent most of my time in VX Ace working on my college senior thesis, Detective Ragger. Additionally, the Detect IV game was the one that did the most using some of the more built-in assets.

Finally! New (Final) Demo Release!

You will also need the RPG Maker VX Ace Runtime Package, which you can find here: RPG Maker VX Ace RTP
Changes from previous demo
Removed Mode7 modules. This was causing severe lag on the world map
Removed world map's minimap. (Temporary, it will return bigger and better)
Fixed Yuuichi's positioning in the forest with a "Timelapse fade".
Added Bestiary (Still WIP)
Extended game to the end of the first continent.
Now there is approx 1 hour of gameplay to go through. That's TWICE as much as the previous demo!
Karin Koeda is finally playable!
New monsters! (You might've seen me upload these! fav.me/d8rletw)
New title theme song (Will probably change it again)
New splash screen (again, will probably change it)
Removed "Enterbrain" logo from splash screen
"Save Detection" script added (laggy at the moment)
Voices off by default (will turn them back on in the final game release). Can be switched back on by entering the menu and changing the settings.
Info screen at the beginning of the demo

I think it looks a lot better now! It’ll fit what i have set for the intro and looks more shapely and interesting.
(Still need to add some room-y things to make it look less like a fake testing chamber and more like a lived in room...)

I didn't have any time for my project last week, my studies were far too stressful. Thanks to the weekend I finally had the time to work on my game again and I'm really happy with the progress I make. What I really like about advancing my project's story is that I immediately see the effects of the time I spent. While it discourages me to modify scripts or the database for hours only to get barely visible results, I don't have this problem when working on the world, the maps or the story.

Finishing up a very odd cutscene. The mapped backgrounds in the TV aren't the ones being used in the actual scene, they're just examples right now. I also need to do something about that wood texture 'cause it looks a bit bland right now.
