SAMPLE APPLICATION FOR DOMINICUSRPG
So terribly sorry this took as long as it did to be put into the universe! But a sample application is in the undercut. It can be put directly through our submit box as plain text, or through any third party format (such as carrd or google docs) but I have just put it plain text for ease. No strict amount of writing is needed, as I am a firm believer in quality over quantity.
ONE FLESH  ⋅  OUT OF CHARACTER
ABOUT YOU
Niamh! I'm twenty five, use they/them (unless its for a joke, then gender me as needed), and I live in the South Island of the beautiful Aotearoa. I have a lot of thoughts about Alecto.
ACTIVITY LEVEL
Fairly active! I mostly work short night shifts currently, and I lurk on mobile a lot. I dread to think how many hours I have spent on it.
TRIGGERS
Any graphic descriptions of animal death, injury, or illness.
DESIRED CHARACTER
Sixth Necromancer. Fun fact— when I started writing this, I wasn't writing them. I swapped close to the last minute.
ONE END  ⋅  IN CHARACTER
THE BASICS
Althaea Sextus, born Althaea Tsadasa. 25, agender, she/they. I'm being sneaky here and leaving the faceclaim blank as I want to give others the best variety of choice for faceclaims.
INTEREST
Why the Sixth Necromancer? There's a poem by tumblr user softinvasions that is pieced together from a theater program of Oresteia that rattles around in my head when I think about them. You can't go home. This play has a particular care and interest in its victims. In comparison to what we know of the other Houses, the Sixth House elects its heir. The right to be the leader isn't given, it's earned. Forged through papers and theorems, voted upon by the Oversight Body. I think there's something fascinating to that. The Sixth House hoards its necromancers, sending out the swordsmen in an attempt to recruit people to diversify the Sixth. And for a necromancer to choose to join the Cohort, and become a doctor of all things? How unusual. The division of necromancers separates pieces of the body, but doesn't touch heavily on healing because necromancy is so often an offensive weapon. Joining the war effort but not as a soldier. The resident inciting event is endless. Because the Cohort-BOE war feels endless, its been happening for nearly ten thousand years. Althaea, who has no interest in the war front, but knows she can help regardless. To save and salvage people together. Well acquainted with what happens afterwards... Her methodology is saving people, piecing them back together. And then being forced to wait for them to come back so she can repeat the process. Tell a story about war without talking about love. No one would dedicate their life to saving people, and then give it up to become an elected official if there wasn't love. Some driving force behind them, a desire to help people. And Lyctorhood is that. The tales of the Lyctor's, the hands of the Emperor Undying– in the image of God, the saviour– surely Lyctorhood is the path to saving everyone. There is no breaking this chain– fate, as always gets its way.
PLOT POINTS
Me holding my excel spreadsheet of predetermined plot points: Lets go. 1. Obviously, the discovery of Lyctorhood is what everyone thinks about. You're a healer, you're someone who has patched your cavalier together a thousand times over. Piecing together Lyctorhood, I think Althaea is someone who would reject any theories that becoming a Lyctor is cannibalizing their cavalier. Because surely no one could do that to their loved one. 2. I'm ridiculously excited to be able to explore outside relationships. Especially for Althaea to be able to peer at and understand other necromancer's bond with their cavaliers- considering how new their bond with their (formal) cavalier is. The Fifth Cavalier, both of the Seventh, and the Ninth are character's I would love to be able to flesh out Althaea with. The Seventh Cavalier's desperate love for their necromancer, and same with the Fifth Cavalier- I think could be truly fascinating. The necromancer who is brand new to her role as a necromancer, and the longest serving cavaliers... gimmie. 3. The Fifth House in general, actually! Both the Fifth and the Sixth are such academic houses and I think them being allowed to be a little nerdy together would be fun. 4. Team 69 revival? 5. I'm just excited for trial related things. I think Althaea is someone who would instinctively want to share the keys and it's going to be so fun to see how it plays out. Instinctively, I don't think she'll be great at some of the trials, solely based on skillset. Althaea's talents lie in the realm of healing and psychometry first and foremost. And much like other unnamed necromancers (cough cough Harrowhark cough), she's created an incredibly niche but powerful skillset. However, unlike my beloved Harrowhark, they're not a combatant. They're a healer and a scholar, even with the memories of war living in their bones. Attempting to say... guide someone into fighting a giant construct? It's going to be a challenge.
THE OTHER HALF
Inherently, Althaea and their cavalier start out in both an easy way to go forward because they are inherently new to being a necro-cav pair. On paper, they remind me of Frankenstein and his monster, two people bound together through medicine and revival. Though, their relationship isn't as... troubled as that. But the difference between knowledge of the mind and knowledge of the body I think serves as an incredibly interesting juxtaposition. She's put her cavalier back together countless times, weaving their skin closed, sliding joints into place, and regrowing bone. But knowing them as a person? Very possibly limited. The Cohort doesn't tend to give long vacations and there is only so much that can be said between blood and bone. But they're someone that Althaea trusts, someone who they think is capable of watching their back. Enough to be one flesh and one end with. The doctor and someone who is a little more alive than they should be.
EXTRAS
I'm cheating by just linking the Sixth Necromancer's section from the main Pinterest board. MBTI: INFJ, the Advocate. ENNEAGRAM: Type Two, the Helper. TEMPERAMENT: Melancholic, earth. My biggest inspiration for her is probably Hypatia. In true Sixth House tradition, they obsessive block out the light in the Canaan House room. Althaea tends to favour dining in the early morning or late evening when in the dining hall, solely to avoid the masses of sunlight that bleed in from the broken ceiling. Big fan of the birds on the First House. I chose the name Althaea not because of the Greek daughter of King Thestius, but for the plant. Althaea is a genus of plant, who's name comes from "to heal". It felt so incredibly fitting for her as a doctor, and also is just such a lovely name.

What brushes do you use?? I love the one you use to sketch
the pastel/charcoal brush yes? it's #1 on here but here's all the other i tend to use lately
Tumblr media
Blockaded Chalk Brush - (10 clippy points) im a one brush to rule them all kinda person so i use this for everything from sketch to rendering. you need good pressure and layer control to use it for blending and to carve out different values just using one color
Tumblr media
YN Stripes - (20 clippy points) i like comb brush blending, its a remnant of dragon age artstyle days. basically for soft transitions and to give texture
Tumblr media
Intoxicate Pencil Set - (free) very natural looking pencil brush, just as messy as the real thing
Tumblr media
Smooth Liner - (free) usual lineart brush. i can use this to mimic traditionally inked lines for digital corrections and additions
Tumblr media
Bear watercolor brush - (10 clippy) realistic watercolor brush and new bestfriend
Tumblr media
Line drawing pen - (thank you for finding the asset moonpaw my light and savior) basically its a feathery but sharp edged hard pen. i combine this with the watercolor brush to make it look like a messy gouache

When I was applying for undergrad, I was fully in my "All my favorite characters are weird smart academic types" phase, because I Iike many undiagnosed twice-exceptional teens had carefully constructed a personal identity around a certain (incredibly harmful) societal idea of intelligence. It totally showed in the institutions I was applying to, too, and in particular, my motivation for choosing them.
This also lead to me making bad choices in the long run and was completely unsustainable, but I will admit that it was helpful when it came to motivating myself to complete my college applications. (Especially considering one of my top schools -- and the one with the most involved application -- happened to be a university that a beloved favorite character had attended but also, it is really, really good in retrospect that I did not get in there.)
I am happier and healthier now and have a much more sustainable image of success in my head, if an imperfect relationship with it, but this also means I have a complicated relationship with the fictional academic archetype and the type of characters I used to love, and that used to be motiviating to me. A lot of my favorite characters these days are ones who possess other traits I admire -- tenacity, kindness, a strong sense of justice, and a desire to change the world for the better. But I don't associate most of them with school or academic success at all; sometimes even the opposite.
All this to say, seeing as I have grad school apps due in exactly a month now. Save me Palamedes Sextus. Save me.

Applying for my Master's in gender studies kind of feels like shooting myself in the foot, but then again, it's not a useless discipline if it's being systematically censored and erased.

lilly i miss you how are you doing love? i would love to hear about life outside of fanfiction for you if you wanna share.
Hey my sweet darling! I'd love to share a mini update with you!
It's been hectic to say the least! Dad is getting a big operation soon and we have to prepare the house for it (needs to be hyper-clean because of immunosuppressors). We've been cleaning, scraping, painting and fixing things around.
We'll also be travelling for the operation, and I will be locked up in the hospital (as a companion) for almost a whole month –maybe even more. But I'm hoping I'll be able to write while I'm there, perhaps even more than normal since I won't have anything else to do other than help when I'm needed. Perhaps I have a terrible idea of what it is to take care of someone post-op but I'm hoping it won't be overly demanding.
Having said that, I've also recently finished my application to a Creative Writing Masters! I've applied to a few already, but the one in this university is particularly exciting to me since it also includes screenwriting in the curriculum.
Also, I recently graduated from the online master's degree I was doing on ITC, and got an honourable mention because of my GPA, which was really exciting as well.
So yeah, a lot of things are going on, some good, some bad, some right in the middle, and to be honest, I've been neglecting the wonderful world I created inside of Gilded Constellations, but it's finally time to put on those computer glasses and get writting (literally, I'm going to go that right now).
Sending you lot's of love,
Lils xx

What is Green Ammonia?
Green ammonia is ammonia produced using renewable energy sources, primarily through the electrolysis of water to generate hydrogen, which is then combined with nitrogen from the air. This process eliminates carbon emissions, setting green ammonia apart from traditional ammonia production, which relies heavily on fossil fuels.
Applications of Green Ammonia
Agriculture
One of the most significant applications of green ammonia is in agriculture. Ammonia is a key ingredient in fertilizers, and its sustainable production can help reduce the carbon footprint of farming. By using green ammonia, farmers can produce food more sustainably, supporting global food security while minimizing environmental impact.
Energy Storage
Green ammonia can also serve as an effective energy carrier. It can be synthesized when there is surplus renewable energy and later converted back into hydrogen or directly used in fuel cells. This capability makes it an attractive option for balancing supply and demand in renewable energy systems.
Shipping Fuel
The maritime industry is under increasing pressure to reduce emissions. Green ammonia has emerged as a potential zero-emission fuel for ships, helping to decarbonize one of the most challenging sectors in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
Benefits of Green Ammonia
Environmental Impact
By eliminating carbon emissions during production, green ammonia significantly reduces the environmental impact associated with traditional ammonia. This aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and achieve sustainability goals.
Energy Security
Investing in green ammonia can enhance energy security. As countries strive to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels, green ammonia offers a renewable alternative that can be produced locally, minimizing reliance on imported fuels.
Economic Opportunities
The growth of the green ammonia market presents numerous economic opportunities, including job creation in renewable energy sectors, research and development, and new supply chain dynamics. As demand increases, investments in infrastructure and technology will drive innovation.
Factors Driving the Growth of the Green Ammonia Market
Regulatory Support
Governments worldwide are implementing policies and incentives to promote the adoption of green technologies. These regulations often include subsidies for renewable energy production and carbon pricing mechanisms, making green ammonia more competitive.
Rising Demand for Sustainable Solutions
With consumers and businesses becoming increasingly aware of their environmental impact, the demand for sustainable solutions is on the rise. Green ammonia aligns with this trend, providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional ammonia.
Advancements in Technology
Ongoing advancements in electrolysis and ammonia synthesis technologies are making the production of green ammonia more efficient and cost-effective. As these technologies mature, they will further enhance the viability of green ammonia in various applications.
Conclusion
The green ammonia market represents a promising avenue for sustainable development across agriculture, energy, and transportation sectors. As technology advances and regulatory support strengthens, green ammonia is poised to become a cornerstone of the global transition to a greener economy. Investing in this market not only contributes to environmental preservation but also opens up new economic opportunities for innovation and growth.

Current fear that has lodged deep into my soul: Everyone keeps reassuring me that it's not impossible to get accepted into PhD programs without first doing a Master's, and I want to trust them. But when I actually go and look at grad student profiles at the schools I'm applying to, they almost all have M.As or the equivalent. One of the professors I was interested in working with even outright told me that I should look into getting an M.A. first.
I cannot afford an M.A. -- I am the sole provider for both myself and my very disabled partner who cannot work. It's PhD or bust, and I'm very scared I'm wasting my time applying for these programs. And that I may be locked out of a career path I'd really love entirely because I don't have the money for it.
