I love obi wan because he's a bit of a snobby asshole and is so bad at expressing his emotions(which is mainly do to the Jedi's teaching) it's part of why he cares about Anakin so much because he's everything he's not. Even though he would never admit it. I know you don't read the books but I heard some of Obi Wan's backstory and it explains so much why he's obessesed with being the perfect Jedi and not showing his emotions in a healthy way. Obi Wan has this almost obessesive need to be a perfect Jedi, and it's much worse after Qin Gon died. He may not be as worse as Anakin in the issues department but god does he have them and that's why I like him. He's a very flawed person. Who ends up as he says very lonely and sad in the end. I love that he's snobby, that he can lie so easily. That it's almost easier for him to fake flirt with his enemies than to genuinely express his emotions to the people he cares about all while stillhaving good in him. He cares it's just he's been raised to be a jedi and that severely limits him as a person at times.
now THAT is how i like my fictional characters: morally complicated, three-dimensional, and impacted by their upbringings and surroundings.
(and this is what makes luke's rejection of the "kill your father" order and statement that he is a jedi like his father before him in ROTJ such an impactful moment: to place personhood over the institution and its dogma, compassion over violence; to choose to end the cycle)
(we do not speak of disney here)

I genuinely and deeply apologize for ranting about the Sequel Trilogy in the year of our lord twenty twenty five but I just have to say yet again
They really expected us to buy that Luke “I will not fight you, father” Skywalker, Luke “I would rather die than fight my father who is, I will note, actively trying to kill me rn” Skywalker, tried to murder his nephew who was, and I cannot emphasize this enough, a SLEEPING CHILD????

“Now that he’s back, he’s going to do what Thrawn does — cause chaos in the galaxy and try to restore the Empire. That’s who he is.”
I need Dave Filoni to be so fucking fr 😮‍💨 Thrawn??? an agent of chaos??? as his defining characteristic???
One of AHSOKA's biggest turn offs is how they've been defining Thrawn in that series. Thrawn was not devoted to the Empire because he believed in the views of the Emperor so wholeheartedly that he'd be doing all this to keep it alive. Mans saw the Empire as a means to an ends for his people's survival. I'm so sick of his characterization being rewritten just to fit whatever Felony's dream scenario necessitates.

I'm very... burnt out on Fandom negativity, especially on YouTube.
It’s always “Here’s how it doesn’t work for me” yet they hesitate to ask, “Why does this hit the spot for others.” There’s a lack of curiosity to look outside their bubble despite insisting that they’re not closed minded.
Like CinemaWins released his video on The Rise of Skywalker, a unilaterally hated movie, and explained why he liked it. He also explained his understanding of why others didn’t like it and it was so much better than the millionth video of somebody thrashing it.
Even if you don’t like something, that doesn’t mean opposite perspectives aren’t valuable. Craftsdwarf on YouTube has videos exploring Sword Art Online and takes it seriously compared to a lot of the hatedom that formed around it.
I don’t fully agree with them myself but it was so much more refreshing than the dime a dozen hate pieces. There’s a market for positive stuff out there but negativity, by its more unfiltered nature, draws more attention by “saying the quiet part outloud.”

while I expected lots of cute moments with bb-8 and pew-pew adventures in Poe Dameron: Flight Log (which, don’t get me wrong, I definitely did get and was very happy about!!) along with lots of cool ship specs and tech details—
what I wasn’t expecting (a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one) was several instances of incredibly heartfelt, evocative, and sweet introspections from Poe on his family, upbringing, philosophy / ethics, the resistance, and love 🥺 so many sweet characterization tidbits in this book, I really enjoyed reading it ♡
if you’re interested in reading it as well, I borrowed it (for free!) on internet archive which I highly highly recommend, it was such a fun read and it’s very easy & user-friendly to borrow books from them!
#sw feels#poe dameron#Poe Dameron flight log#did you know his mom was a rebel alliance pilot and after she died he wore her wedding ring on a necklace?!?#and said he was ‘saving it until he found the right person to give it to’?!?!?? what the hell man that’s so sentimental and sweet?!?!?? I’m.#and one of his earliest memories is sitting on his mom’s lap in the cockpit of her a wing as a toddler and her showing him how to fly?!?!#and that she went on missions with Leia who admired her greatly?!? and that his dad lives a quiet content life on yavin?!?#with a. oh my god. with a tree that was grown from part of a tree rescued from the Jedi temple on coruscant by freaking Luke Skywalker?!?!?#and. AND. his dad is an excellent tracker who would climb trees and track local fauna — not to hunt but just for fun?#the Aragorn coding…. dear lord….#OH ALSO Leia personally sent a letter to Kes (his dad) and Poe when Shara (his mom) passed with her personal condolences#and Shara flew in the battle of Endor#that means Poe’s parents probably met if not were good friends with#hera syndulla and so probably also chopper?!?#I’m. this book was even better and more fun to read than I expected thank you internet archive ily internet archive#would love to own the physical book but until then I’m so glad I got to borrow it from internet archive#but owning the physical book at some point would/will be SUCH. a good reference for fic writing too and not just for sequels era fic writing#because incidentally several of the ships included are either OT or PT era originating like Poe at one point was flying a pre-TCW era ship#in one of his logs so like. idk this is the first tech specs star war book I’ve read so far but it’s really fun to have all of that info#laid out on paper in a physical book. would definitely recommend if you like ships and specs#also great fic writing reference point for several minor character info sheets and specs on droids and star fighters and such and also for#the main character characterizations#on the whole just a really fun short book and I only wish it was longer#book quotes#<- not quotes exactly more like book discussion but that’s the tag I use for booky stuff for org purposes#oh also after reading this book I no longer care 0% about kylo ren. I actually care negative 100000000 million times forever about that#‘masked maniac’ as Poe called him. Poe described the interrogation/ torture he endured before Finn broke him out and yeah I despise kylo eve#n more than I did before now. that part made me really sad

i just saw THIS ice-cold take in the notes section of a "which star wars character should have an abortion" poll:
#shmi not being pregnant would have solved a *lot* of problems
which… NO????
because here's the thing: at NO point did palpatine's plans to take over the galaxy hinge on the existence of anakin skywalker.
the ONLY reason he decided to gaslight gatekeep groom that child is to have him as a Trophy to symbolize the "triumph" of the sith over the jedi, the dark side over the light.
…okay, so let's say, for the sake of argument, that anakin really had NOT been born, for whatever reason. THIS would be how it would have probably gone:
the phantom menace would have gone similarly to canon at first. but even Assuming that padmé, her handmaidens, and her jedi protectors manage to leave tatooine alive, there would have been no one to blow up the trade federation warship. naboo would have been devastated. palpatine would have become chancellor anyway.
and in the aftermath, it's very likely that the clone wars would have started several years early, as early as A Decade Early with the naboo blockade.
order 66 would have still happened: it's in the chips (or if you go by legends canon, in the indoctrination), and anakin had nothing to do with any of that. there would be no vaderkin to lead the purge, so there might be more jedi survivors, but that's about it.
palpatine would still be able to make himself emperor through his expert political maneuvering: he didn't just sit on his backside for 10 years as chancellor while anakin was still in jedi training in canon, after all.
and assuming that the "chosen one" prophecy holds true, No One Would Have Been Able to Stop Him.
so what problems WOULD anakin not being born have "solved", per se? in terms of overall galactic history, he's barely more than a footnote in the history books anyway… save for his final act of self-sacrifice to yeet his abuser out of the land of the living.
(and if you Insist on going by disney canon, even THAT got negated, so what would be the point anyway?! just incapacitating palpatine enough so that someone ELSE can deal the final blow?! witch, please, i Know star wars is pain, the entire Fandom knows that, but can't you just let the poor man who has never breathed a full day free in his life have a SINGULAR W in his life for ONCE?!!?)
and even then, that's not counting all the other, smaller acts of GOOD that anakin did throughout his lifetime that DID have a lasting impact on others' lives but might not have made the history books, Especially before his fall: he was a good kid who helped his community and family and friends and even strangers (even while literally enslaved and having nothing to his name), he was padmé's life partner and safe space to be (and find) herself and be happy, he trained ahsoka into a reasonably functional adult, etc.
all of that might not have necessarily happened had anakin not existed. even if it Could have happened, it would likely have been much harder than if he Had been there, and a net zero impact on the galaxy is still a relative positive compared to an overall negative impact. heck, -10 is still a more positive number than -1,000 on the number line.
TL;DR: palpatine's galactic sith domination plans did NOT depend on the existence of anakin skywalker, but the cosmic agenda to stop palpatine DID. that's why anakin was born as "the chosen one" in the first place. that is Literally the POINT of the OG saga.

Ok, so I've seen some takes about how Suho would navigate his life after waking up, considering that before his coma he built a big part of his identity around him being extremely physically capable. And now that he doesn't have this, the possible paths that he could take ranges from hopeful (making full recovery) to outright depressing (this being kind of his downfall (although personally I don't buy this)).
But I raise you another theory - what if he takes a page out of Sieun's book and starts to get more crafty and lethal?
Think about it: yes, his physical reflexes might be weak for a time being, but he has been a fighter for most of his life. The experience in assessing his opponents and make out their weaknesses would not just evaporate. Like that trick he taught Sieun about looking out for the shoulders? Yeah
So, to compensate he would also start using his surroundings and the nearest sharp object he could find to his advantage, but instead of using his brain like Sieun, Suho would use his knowledge of how these fights work and instincts to counter the attacks

i genuinely hope in my lifetime to never experience anything like the reylo phenomenon ever again. something about that ship either attracted people who were weird or made people weird, and either way existing on internet spaces while it was at its peak was hellish.

people who have to turn off their brains to read/watch something bad are weak. embrace the flaws. tear them to shreds. yell about the weak writing, gaping plotholes, and plain weird/insane shit that really doesn't work. it's so much more fun that way
