Professor Sprout - Not only is she kind, warm-hearted, and gentle in her guidance, but she is genuine in her teachings. It is obvious that she cares about the subject. Her careful tending and motherly focus has made her a favorite teacher for Seth. He regards her as if she were a favorite aunt and heeds her guidance with the same respect.

Professor Flitwick- What he lacks in size, he makes him in his determination, heart, and ambition. Seeing that there was potential in Drystan, he motivated the Gryffindor towards success. Sure, his focus may seem a bit wavering at times, he means well. As he endeavors his students towards their personal best, he appreciates his sort of instruction.

Least Favourite Professors:

Professor Rakepick- Her teaching methods are a bit reckless and overambitious. She seems driven to prove something but he’d rather it not be at his expense.

BACKGROUND/HISTORY

Seth was only two years old when his family life erupted into chaos. It was during a family outing to stargaze when Moriah’s new reality began to set in. As her limbs contorted in pain, Kaizer grabbed his toddler and ran to the car. There they waited out the gruesome terror until Moriah was herself once more. Fearing what this would mean, Kaizer devised a plan to fake Moriah’s death. As his finances began to spiral out of grief, he was forced to give Seth up for adoption. The result was the placement in his uncle’s house.

At the age of twelve, he began to feel a similar attraction to boys as he does with girls. It was slight confusion but he paid no attention to it. It wasn’t until a few months later when he began to develop a crush on his best friend that he realized something might be ‘wrong’ with him. He took a risk with his friend and found such affections returned. However, this wasn’t to be a happy occasion as his father beat him severely upon finding out.

He has dated Corbyn Reyes (ages 14 and 15, respectfully). This only lasted for 3 months as their personalities continued to clash. It was intense, explosive and with a force of wills to match. It didn’t help that they didn’t share similar moral values or understand each other’s signs of affection. They broke up on hostile terms.

The drama involving the Silva’s and Drystan’s have been carried down through the centuries with most of it being forgotten by the Silva’s. The Drystan’s, however, maintain that this feud was the result of Silva greed and impotence. No one really knows the story. With the somewhat-recent history involving the Silvas, the members of the Drystan family are assured in their ascension to surpass them; as is their right.

PERSONALITY

Charismatic:  Sociable and somewhat understanding, Seth prides himself on the ability to win over almost anyone. It helps that he can read a person generally well.

Condescending. This is a part of his arrogance as he tends to talk down to those who he believes to be inferior to himself. This is obvious in his actions but, more often, it is evident in his manner of speech.

Diplomatic: This comes from being raised by a politician. He is sensitive (only to matters that counts) and is able to deal with the general public effectively and efficiently. This is provided nothing bigoted leaves his mouth.

Hedonistic: The finer things in life were made for him. Check the receipt. He was created for a lavish lifestyle. It may be a weakness but he’s fine with that.

Prejudiced: Muggle-borns and werewolves. There are probably more but these are the most common. He isn’t a fan of half-breed creatures and considers them to be revolting.

【Corbyn】: Exhaustion will generally see to Corbyn’s languid gaze and lack of verbal responses. He makes no attempt to stay awake as he opts for 10-30 minute catnaps. He’ll seek some undisclosed space, dark and quiet, and simply rest. If for any reason, he cannot rest, he is irritable.

【Seth】: He, however,  is more likely to talk even more. He'll ramble because he's trying to keep himself awake. He'll also start fidgeting with anything he can get his hands on because he thinks activity equals being awake .......he also denies being tired.

7. Are they in a romantic relationship? With who? How did they meet?

While both individuals have yet to solidify either relationship towards romance more than its general vague befriended acknowledgment, they do desire this eventual path. For Corbyn, he has yet to meet Tulip. He has, however, heard of her pranks. Her wit and charm in the Transfiguration class were captivating. He’s seen her in passing a few times. Warm brown eyes, slender jaw, cute nose, and long dark-red hair had him speechless. It’s not usual that someone’s mere presence can cause him to be so flustered. He is still working up ways to impress her. Only time will tell if he’s successful.

As for Seth, he is currently attempting to court Penny. While this may be an old-fashioned idea, he wanted to impress upon her that he values her. Learning about her preferences for different subjects and about her in general leaves him with a smitten smile. While he did meet her in his First year in Potions, he really was able to learn more about her later on in his Second year. Not only was she skilled at Potions but her ability to know what was going on in Hogwarts drew him in. Seth also has an ear for gossip and rumors so they began to speak regarding a few of them as she helped tutor him in potions. He’s working on enchanting a flower for her. It’s……... been a process.

25. What is their biggest flaw?

For Seth, his biggest flaw is hubris. This excessive self-confidence is a fluke. It is a false sense of overwhelming pride that goads him into certain speech patterns and behaviors that often spell misfortune. It’s a protective disguise as he does not truly believe that he is worth as much as he pretends. This arrogance creates a sort of barrier. It prevents people from desiring to know him and, if he keeps it up, it will also prevent him from proving to Penny that there is more to him than this pretentious facade.

As for Corbyn, he is envious. Sure, it isn’t entirely obvious nor as straightforward as Seth’s issue but it is prevalent. It is what fuels his competitiveness. It is what motivates his jealous nature to trickle forth into situations. He is envious of those with wholesome families such as that of the Weasely family. His envy is born out of a desire to have the same but knowing that it is impossible. Due to this, he tends to lash out and severe ties in anger. (Luckily the Weasely’s could see through this and Molly was incredibly understanding)

50. How would you describe their style of clothing? How would they describe their style of clothing?

I would describe their sense of style as different. While Corbyn tends to form more street  fashions, Seth seems to take on more of a prepster/corporate powerhouse sort of style

Corbyn: “I wear comfortable shirts with graphics because…...why not? Jeans and a pair of converse. I’m not sure this is a style? It’s more of a comfort over fashion if anything.”

Seth: “Corporate casual. That is how I define it. If I want to be taken seriously as a potential future candidate for the Ministry, I need to make an impactful first impression. It doesn’t hurt to impress other students either.”

67. Is their bedroom messy? What about their bathroom? Kitchen? Living room?

Corbyn: While his room is small, there aren’t many items in there to create a mess. His closet is average-sized holding his clothes on the rack and in a chest of drawers. His bed tends to be unmade. He does try to pick up his clothes but he doesn’t always do it. As the bathroom and the other rooms listed are shared, they are immaculate. This doesn’t mean that he remembers to keep it that way but he is eventually hounded into fixing it. Usually, it is toothpaste flecks on the mirror or faucet from brushing his teeth, a few crumbs from when he made food, etc. It isn’t excessive as he TRIES to be neat. Seth: His bedroom is a bit bigger than Corbyn’s so the opportunity for it to get out of hand is significantly larger. However, he does attempt to keep it in good appearances. You never know when a guest might wander and having a messy room does nothing to improve one’s reputation. His bathroom is a little messier as he locks it away from prying eyes. It is clean only a little messy as far as towels and clothes go. The kitchen and the living room are organized and clean but this is not his doing. They have house-elves for that.

4. What are their coping strategies for dealing with everything (the Vaults, Jacob, etc.), if they have any?It would be here that one would hope to see positive coping adaptations. It is a common desire to see either of these individuals recognize the necessary strategies for moving forward in spite of a chaotic mess that is their Hogwarts experience. That, unfortunately, is far too idealistic and (much to my chagrin) they have found other means of dealing with these various stressors.

Corbyn tends to deal with stress by being escaping and taking risks. With everything that pertains to Jakov and its constant merging with the stress from the vault, Corbyn tends to seek isolation. Yet, at the same time, he desires close relationships so it becomes a battle over the need for comfort versus the need for escape. He is emotionally-avoidant and so struggles with this aspect as well.

Seth, meanwhile, deals with the stress of the vaults and his brothers through unhealthy self-soothing and maladaptive numbing. Losing himself in events by trying to avert his attention to anything else. He seeks out any means to fade out that glaring reality of where he is and where he believes he should be. He also has turned to some muggle medication after being introduced to it accidentally. He refuses to admit it

6. Are they in any clubs or extracurricular activities?  What about Quidditch?

Corbyn is part of a gardening club that originated from a tutoring session to a gathering of like-minded individuals that enjoy exchanging tips and tricks. While it is a small club, it is one that often encourages a smile from him. His other passion was quidditch. He played as a Chaser for the better half of a year before he opted to be a spectator.

Seth, on the other hand, was never interested in playing quidditch. He preferred to watch it and cheer alongside a pretty blonde. He makes speculations and guesses techniques but he’ll stay where it’s generally safe. He is a part of the frog choir and has found it to be relaxing. He still plays his violin from time to time but generally only on rainy days in a separate study room. What one might not realize is that he is also a part of the student newspaper. This could be because he keeps it to himself or it might be because he only functions as an article editor. Not exactly a boast worth mentioning.

13. what’s a weird headcanon you have for each of your muses?

There are several odd headcanons that I have for them ranging from eating to particular speech patterns. In no particular order;

Corbyn eats the flesh of the most fruit last as the “desert” of the fruit. He enjoys the sweet tartness that lingers on the tongue. He enjoys the way that bite of flavor and texture. Sure, it is a bit odd to see him peel a plum only to devour the fruit skin moments later but he enjoys it.For Seth  when embarrassed, he tends to use malapropisms. This is the act of using an incorrect word in place of one that is similar in pronunciation. An example would be, “I have no delusions to the past” (allusions). It can be quite infuriating for him because he knows what he means but it doesn’t come across as such.Kain sneezes three times when he is startled. There really is no explanation for this. He just sneezes. He cannot help himself. Believe me, he has tried.Amos is fascinated with card games and enjoys poker quite a lot, he’s been accused of counting cards but perhaps he simply knows where to place his bets. I would not play such games with him if I were you. Just trust that he has a few tricks up his sleeves or are those cards?Caesar speaks to himself in different accents when he is alone to beta-test his own ideas. Its an endearing trait and one that makes him a  bit embarrassed. He usually only does this when bored and alone. It’s a fun practice when alone but quite humiliating if anyone was to ever find out.Haedon, as strange as he can be, there isn’t anything that I can find that exists in the realm of odd save that he talks to cats. Not with them but to them, This is usually done in tense tones and swears as he is not fond of the creatures and they don’t like his attitude.

14. which muse has the most aus or verses?

Corbyn is tied with Seth by having three different aus. There’s the one portrayed in Lie to me, one where he is dating Laurent, one where he is dating both Laurent and Seth, and a royalty au.Seth, meanwhile, has the following aus: the one where he is dating both Laurent and Corbyn, the one where he dates Laurent, and the Royal AuIt is possible that they both have one or more additional alternative universes but, at this current moment, I cannot think of any.

16. which muse is most willing to fight another muse?

Primarily it would be Haedon. He enjoys manipulating people and usually when they find out, they are none too keen on the subject. He is a being that thrives off of conflict. As such, it makes sense for him to be willing and eager to fight another muse. He won’t fight children, he has principles however skewed they may be. He often fights for territory, for dominance, and to defend either himself or whatever he values at that particular time.Seth is the second most willing to fight. Sure, there’s the whole Drystan image he needs to be aware of but, if he can get away with it, he’s going to kick your ass. He doesn’t look for fights but he won’t run from them either. Sometimes you just have to stand your ground.

You know how to choose some difficult questions, I think I got a bit carried away, hope you enjoy!

1. Is there a muse that you wish gets more attention?

As far as my main characters are concerned, the attention tends to be divided between them. Corbyn does tend to gather more attention but that may be due to him being the first character that I created. I would like Caesar to get more attention. As a half-veela, he’s charming, eccentric, and ambitious. It will be fun to see him interact with other characters

2. if you HAD to choose, who’s your favorite muse?This is probably the toughest question! I love them all for different reasons. Corbyn shares my personality type so I’m a bit biased there. He’s fun in the dynamics and interplay of his philosophy and personality. Then there’s Seth. He is as egotistical as he is complex. He’s so much fun to play especially as he is working through developing his own values as separate from his family’s. Amos is difficult at times but I adore him. The way he analyzes and cuts to the root of the problem but he does it in such a caring way. He cares for his brothers but he shows that care by allowing them to make mistakes, regardless of the outcome. He is a brother but not their keeper. Kain, on the other hand, is quite the bastard and I love him for it. He is an antagonist but there’s so much more to him than that. The complexities behind his own motivations, the pressure of being the eldest son, all of this creates an intense mix that pours forth in his interactions. Haedon, as a valravn, is probably the most exciting as far as a general concept. Of course, he’s a manipulative lying ass, so it can be taxing to portray him with accuracy...Oh right, the question. I suppose my favorite would be a tie between Corbyn and Caesar. They are similar in the way they talk but their motivations, actions, and manner of speech differ. I couldn’t choose between them! Ah!

10. which muse is the most fun to write for?I would have to say Corbyn. His ability to look for loopholes is so much fun to see what comes of these exploitations. He enjoys blackmailing and gambling. That seems just average but when you add magic and the possibility to skew the outcomes in your own favor with this talent, things become more exciting. There’s a lot involved in his whole dynamic. The way that he talks is enjoyable to write as well. Being blunt and straight-forward is something that is fun to write. He is also creative in his language which I’m trying to express more. It’s fun to see him interact with other characters, especially to see their confusion when he wins over their allowance.

22.which muse is most likely to make new friends?

Hmmm, that’s a good question. As extroverted as Caesar is, I would say that he’d be the one to make friends the easiest and keep them. Seth, with his charismatic snake-like charm, can win friends and influence people but keeping them? After a while, his true personality shows and people simply feel used. Corbyn has the most difficult time making friends as he deals with the fears of being discarded so his ways of relating are a bit skewed. He does try though. That counts for something!

HC: Romantic & Platonic Affection Views

【Corbyn】: It would depend upon how the romantic affection was demonstrated. While he is more apt to show romantic affection once he assures himself of the relational integrity, he is less receptive to it. It is a matter of internal conflict. While this attention is pleasant, it can seem overwhelming. You’d do best to vary it or he’ll end up doubting the sincerity. Romantic demonstrations such as spending quality time with him mean much more to him.

 In the case of platonic affection, it depends upon your established relationship. He’ll accept hugs from a selected few but only if the duration of that hug lasts mere seconds. While he’ll reciprocate platonic gestures, it mostly consists of mirroring the gesture given (unless such action is impossible, see: 5’4 problems). It isn’t that he doesn’t think he is deserving or that he shouldn’t, it’s more of a friendship-level thing. Once you’ve worked past those initial barriers, he’s more open to platonic gestures. While not one to initiate, he is more likely to intrude upon your personal space or lean against you.

【Seth】: When it comes to romantic affection, he’s flattered. Such gestures are fine but he prefers words of affirmation (although he will accept all means of romantic affection). Given his confliction regarding his orientation, he’s more liable to reciprocate from a female-bodied person. In the case of a male-presenting individual, he aims for humiliation. He may string them along to ensure that the end result of humiliation sinks in. That being said, Seth can be quite romantic when it suits him.

As for platonic affection, he will demonstrate acts of it. He’s good with mimicry and learning what certain people prefer. It is nothing more than a hollowed-out gesture. He’ll move hair out of faces and other small gestures but he won’t ever hug you. An offering of platonic affection is welcomed. Such positive attention should be lavished upon him and it’s quite rude of you to wait so long to reach that conclusion.

【Corbyn】:  Similar to his animagus, he would alternate between sneaky/defensive as he baited his opponent. Toying with them as he offers them the upper-hand, only to retract it with a smirk. His aim is to wear out his opponent, make them so infuriated that they waste all their energy within the first few minutes. It is only afterward that he retaliates.

【Seth】: Aggressive, Sneaky, Underhanded? He operates on the exploitative but harbors much more aggression than should be allowed within the limits of dueling. He searches for any weaknesses. Faulty stance, weak wielding, uncertainty and the like, offering only sneaky attacks until he is certain. Then he’ll strike. Again. And Again. Rapid fire-attacks. He’s adaptable but once he sees the weakness he hones in. It isn’t over until you surrender or pass-out. Whichever happens first...

Thank you, Jayden! These were so much fun to write, I hope you enjoy...3. Did they get sorted into the Hogwarts House they expected to?  Did the Sorting Hat have any problems sorting them?  Or did it not even have to touch their head?Having been sorted into Gryffindor, the first of his family, it wasn’t something he had expected. He had heard countless tales of recklessness, blind bravery, and mindless determination. As such, he had considered these students to be less than admirable. Now that he is sorted among them? He…..still has these thoughts and continues to wonder if he wasn’t better suited anywhere else. Seth had expected to be in Slytherin as he sees himself as ambitious and cunning but these are not his defining traits. There was a momentary delay when the sorting hat landed upon him. He even tried to argue with it but, in doing so, it saw something in him he has yet to recognize.12. Do they have any hobbies?  What about any talents or aptitudes?Seth is quite the fan of duelists and practices this as often as he can. Other hobbies include whittling and studying Astronomy. He’s very capable with his hands and quite skilled with a knife although his creations could use some fine-tuning. As for Astronomy, he simply enjoys star-gazing and finds stars to be beautiful and complex. He has artistic aptitudes, believe it or not,  causing him to be photogenic, fashion-forward, and musically included. He can play the violin ( although he doesn’t do this much as intense lessons and parental expectations removed the joy from it). 17. Do they like what they see in the mirror?Oh man, now we’re heading into the big questions. You would like to believe so, wouldn’t you? The way that Seth preens and fawns over himself, one would come to the assumption that he simply cannot stop adoring his reflection. This could not be further from the truth. Seth abhors his reflection. Within seconds he can map out every flaw and recognize each imperfection by touch alone. The constant preening? To assure himself that he is presenting the best version of himself. If he could do this without mirrors he would.What he sees in the mirror is a young teen struggling to understand the complexities around him. In his reflection, he sees past that well-placed smile to the shattered fragments. He smiles to himself because he refuses to let anyone see what a mess he truly is.26. What kind of a first impression do they tend to leave on others?Upon first meeting Seth, one could recognize the veil of charisma and the sort of almost diplomatic air he appears to wield. He is inviting, attentive, and yet, despite his efforts, condescending tones are notable for those that have played this game before. Seth is someone who may not be one you can identify right when he meets with you but there’s always this lingering sense of something being not quite right. He seemed so charming, attentive, and yet…was any of that attention truly on you?

One fear. You know him very well. Failure marks him in imperfection and notes his lack or weakness to be glaring. This fear causes him to desire the unrealistic but he cannot reach forward for it. What if it doesn't work? What if he is wrong? He can't be wrong.......he cannot fail.
