I want it on record that I am a proud member of Team "Gabrielle Benele is Completely Unhinged."

This may be a rather lukewarm take, as I don't have as much interaction with the Daggerfall Covenant side of the ESO fandom, but I'm convinced that, like myself until a couple years ago, neither has anyone that has ever earnestly considered her a voice of reason.

Gabrielle is that one character that people assume is put together at first glance because she's intelligent and professionally accomplished, but that perception completely shifts as people gradually discover the laundry list of borderline war crimes she's used those smarts to commit.

Her canonical claims to fame include, with no hyperbole applied:

Singlehandedly breaking into a cult-infested crypt for a talisman rumored to open portals to Oblivion.

Gleefully hacking the warding sequence on one of the most secure vaults in the Covenant and openly admitting that she'd wanted to take a crack for some time upon learning it was named the "Impervious Vault."

Getting banned from the Anchor's Point Inn for setting fire to the hair of a pushy dragonknight who failed to heed her rather upfront request to stop hitting on her (easily the most understandable point on this dissertation).

Losing "teleporting directly to the Evermore Mages' Guild" privileges for a reportedly similar incident.

And, most unnervingly of all, sending a treatise to Covenant generals advising the displacement of beasts and beastfolk in enemy territory to send them rampaging into local settlements as an invasion tactic.

Ya gurl may have more outward tact in professional settings, but there's absolutely no way her dynamic with Darien doesn't involve him reigning her in ethically as often as she reigns him in conversationally. These feral besties are two halves of a whole common sense and I love that for them.

PSA for my fellow artists

Please be aware of a paypal scam going around right now!

Tonight I received messages from a "commissioner" asking me to draw a picture of her and her son. She offered me a large amount of money for my work, which leads me to my first point:

Always ask for payment upfront from new customers!

Doing so protected me from losing time (and potentially a lot of money) working on a piece for a scammer.

She claimed she was willing to pay extra for the work to be "finished as soon as possible". In hindsight, this is one of many common ways scammers create a false sense of urgency so you don't have time to think critically about what they're asking.

Secondly, she asked for the email used for my paypal. She claimed it was for sending payment, but this was actually a method for sending a scam email later, claiming that there was an issue with her payment requiring me to "refund" her $200. This is when I was able to confirm that it was a scam, stopped, and reported the email and the tumblr account. Had I not blocked her she likely would have continued to insist that she'd made a payment or possibly even threatened to take action against me if I didn't refund her money I never received, again, another common way scammers create a false sense of urgency and panic.

But other artists may not be so lucky, or know how to recognize these kinds of phishing schemes, so I thought making this post could be helpful!

Warning signs:

1. She asked for my pricing information and email through DMs, rather than reading my pinned post or using my carrd when directed to, things a legitimate customer would know to do.

2. The email was from "service paypal" (instead of just "paypal") and was in my spam folder.

3. The email used an impersonal greeting. All official paypal emails will begin by addressing you by name. It also contained a handful of grammatical errors that might be missed at first glance, especially if the scammer has successfully created a sense of panic.

4. The email claimed that due to the large size of the payment, the transaction could not be completed until an additional $200 payment was made from the customer that should be "refunded" to them once "made". This is blatantly untrue and an extremely unprofessional/sketchy practice a legitimate business like paypal would never use.

In my case, it claimed that it was part of the process of creating a business account- business accounts are free to create, however, and I already have a store page.

5. Most importantly: I never received any payments or notifications through paypal's official app or website.

Scammers will send you fake screenshots of their payments to attempt to convince you that they've spent or lost money and that it's your responsibility to help them get it back. Don't believe it. They're just trying to get you to "compensate" them for an issue that never occurred, by any means necessary. If there was any genuine issue with their payment, they could work with paypal or contact their bank to cancel the transaction or refund them. If you never recieved any payment, you don't owe them anything. It's not your job to "refund" them.

If you encounter a scam like this, block, report, and change your paypal password for good measure.

I got lucky, I didn't lose any money or get scammed, I only wasted a few minutes talking to her before I recognized it for what it was and stopped interacting. Sometimes, however, even if you recognize that something is a scam, just opening the email and viewing any attachments may potentially compromise your information. Never click any links in an email like this.

I'd rather deal with Lila than Ladybug. At least Lila is upfront about her intentions. If she wants to hype herself up to impress her classmates, fine—go ahead. The moment you catch on to her game, it’s obvious what she’s about. She'd loose the veil and tell it how it is. She'd hate and destroy you if you continue to piss her off but hey at least she's truthful.

But Marinette? Oh, girl is something else. She’ll manipulate and use you like a tool and then discard you looking at you CN. And after what went down with Adrien in the London special? Who even needs enemies when you’ve got a friend like her, am I right? Lmao

The moment this girl entered his life, everything went downhill. She really had his friends and family lying to his face and keeping secrets under wraps. Sure, it was their decision—but seriously, Kagami? Girl, what happened to you? You used to be cool and honest, and now look at you.

It’s like every character who crosses paths with Ladybug gets sucked into this void where they lose all individuality and turn into her loyal yes-men. They stop feeling like actual characters. Its why I'm more pressed with her. They can't help it. Honestly, the only way to maintain your personality in Miraculous Ladybug is to be a villain or antagonist to Marinette. The second you join her "good side," it’s like an unspoken rule—you become just another follower in her shadow.

Imagine meeting a girl over a year ago, and in that short time, she’s managed to get Nathalie, Kagami (your former girlfriend), your cousin, Alya, Alix—basically everyone—to lie and keep secrets about what actually went down.

This girl caused so much damage, she might as well be the villain! Honestly, if isolating him and keeping him to herself was her intended plan, I’d almost respect the hustle. But no, we’re all just living in Marinette’s world, like she’s the center of the universe. Lmao.

The situation is so complex! Bitch no who said that?? lol. I feel like if it were anyone not Adrien in this situation she wouldn't really care now would she? Her rationale would be there and because the situation is distant she'd know the crimes have to be exposed. But her controlling nature really be there to anyone closest to her. Like she's toxic for real damn. I'd rather be her enemy then her friend because if this is how her intentions are then please keep her away from me.

Once the truth gets out, it’s not just Adrien she’ll have to face—it’s the entire world. Think about it: all the people whose pain was exploited and weaponized by Hawk Moth, their suffering turned into tools of destruction. And Ladybug? If her lies were exposed, and this show actually had the guts to go there, wouldn’t people start having conspiracy theories and questioning how far in is her involvement? She’s not just lying to the public about the true identity of Monarch; she’s actively hiding Tomoe and Nathalie—Gabriel’s partners-in-crime. That’s not just scandalous—it’s outright criminal. How does she justify covering for them? At what point does her so-called “protection” cross into outright betrayal?

She only has the audacity to pull this off because she’s hiding behind that mask. If her identity were ever revealed and the dominoes started falling, the trust people have in her would be obliterated in an instant. Imagine the fallout if everyone on the street—or even her own parents—found out the absolute shame. And spare me the whole “I lie to protect your feelings” excuse. This isn’t some harmless white lie, like pretending someone looks good in a dress when you secretly think otherwise. No, this is a catastrophic betrayal of trust, all to preserve her relationship with Adrien. And don’t come at me with the “she’s young” defense. Sure, she’s 14, but she made a very adult choice: to lie to the entire world—and especially Adrien—about his father being Hawk Moth. There’s no excusing that. You can't come back from that sometimes our words can have such a big impact and because to the world she is Ladybug her influence on the people is big people expect a superhero to be above that because she's supposed to be the protector of Paris.

I think many need to separate Marinette from Ladybug because this isn’t about civilian Marinette and her personal struggles because it doesn't matter. This is about Ladybug—the symbol of superheroism, the paragon of justice and integrity, at least what she’s perceived to be within her universe. Ladybug stands as an icon, someone the public looks up to and trusts implicitly. But when you peel back the layers, it’s clear she’s fallen. She didn’t just make a mistake; she failed to uphold the very code she’s meant to represent.

Superheroes are supposed to stand for truth, accountability, and the protection of others, even at great personal cost. Ladybug, however, has chosen to conceal life-altering truths and protect the guilty under the guise of “greater good.” In doing so, she’s betrayed not only Adrien but also the very principles that define a hero. And that failure strikes at the heart of her role as the so-called ideal of justice.

I really wonder how early Season 1 Marinette/Ladybug—or even the version of her before she was granted the Kwami of Creation—would feel if she saw her Season 5 counterpart. Would she even recognize herself? How would she process the distance between who she was and who she’s become?

Honestly, I’ve always had this sense, so I’m not exactly surprised. But after the special, it just confirmed something for me.

No matter how much the show tries to sell the idea that Adrien/CN and Ladybug are equals—no matter how many fluttering words or hugs they throw in—the truth is clear: Marinette will never see Adrien as her equal. And what does a lie with such vast and far-reaching consequences say about her character? It doesn’t matter how it was never meant to come off—because, truthfully, sometimes her actions speak louder than anything else. The way she behaves, the decisions she makes, they reveal far more about her character than any intentions or explanations ever could.

It tells you one thing for sure: You can be her Girlfriend her BestFriends or her closest working partner since the beginning of your debut. But if there is one thing you'd ever need to know best about her. You can never truly trust Marinette/Ladybug.

She has stability and a schedule. Too much of it, even. It's not that she doesn't take time to be by herself and enjoy life, it's that she's always doing something 24/7. Relaxing in bed? Yes, but also while calculating how much money she's made every month for the year. Enjoying the sun? Yes, but she's also doing bicep curls with 1,700 pound trees. You teach her to just sit for once and do nothing. The first time she managed to sit still, with her eyes shut and her always-working body slack with relaxation, she turned her head to you and quietly said, "Beloved, you feel like freedom to me."

F = Feelings (When did they know they're in love?)

She saw you concentrating. You were concentrating hard on something you love doing. You were immune to anything going on around you, immersed in your own world, practicing the skill you love the most. She has a deep appreciation for hard working people, but you were truly different. She's usually upfront about many things- she trusts you enough to be married to you, so you'll know just about everything. There are a few things from her past that she's quiet about, but overall, she trusts you with most things. After all, she sees you as one of the only truly trustworthy people in her life.

Would lose her mind.

Silently, of course. When she's upset, she's subdued. A bit passive aggressive, sure, but when she's angry, she tends to be overly formal and quiet. She won't overreact. Your wife would call for help on your behalf, then politely ask who did it to you and where you last saw them. She doesn't usually take people out by herself. It's messy and suspicious. She'll hire somebody else to do it for her. But the moment somebody touches you, she'll hunt them down herself and "take care of them". She does. She's not afraid to pursue things in any aspect in her life, including romantically. Says "I love you" early on in the relationship, because she knows she loves you. There's no "testing the waters". She loves you and she knows it.

Everyday, she has fun with you and thinks, "This must be my favorite memory with them", but then she realizes that it's not her favorite, because she loves every memory. She doesn't have one. She couldn't possibly choose.

This huge woman loves to brag about you. Not to everybody, but to her closest employees who she sees as friends. Generally, she keeps it pretty neutral and doesn't gush about you, but when you're actually WITH her, she always has a hand reaching down to rest on your shoulder, or is checking on you by flashing a little glance your way.

P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)

The only nickname she uses for you is "beloved". Straight to the point. You're her beloved. When she isn't calling you her beloved, she just uses your name because she loves it so much. One time, though, you straight up tried climbing her like she was a jungle gym. She was shocked, yelled "DARLING????", and was extremely amused (but also was annoyed about her custom tailored suit being pulled at).

Always asking about you. Little details, big details, random details, she wants to know all of it. She has an insanely good memory and won't forget anything you tell her about yourself. Even so, she still writes down your likes, dislikes, things you like to do, etc. and stores them in a filing cabinet with your name on it.

R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)

All she needs are three things: 1. You 2. Chocolate covered strawberries (she adores them. only eats them at midnight or when it rains. her special treats) 3. A book She'll curl up with you in a blanket big enough to engulf her (so it's HUGE you'll drown in it be careful). Watching the rain fall against the windows, reading a book to you quietly.

Rarely does she get sad- she's very focused on the now and is capable of fixing things or finding another way around any difficulties. But occasionally, you'll find her staring off into space with a blank expression. Contemplating the past. She'll try to catch herself and instantly goes to give herself an (intense) pep talk in the mirror, and moves on with the day. The same goes for you. When you're sad, she prefers to get you back on track rather than sitting and comforting you. Every aspect of her life is fast, so sometimes she doesn't realize that you may just need to sit, talk and receive a hug. But if you ask for it, she will.

Work, work and more work. She loves talking about work- what she did a week ago, what she did today, what she'll be doing tomorrow. But she also loves to talk about random things. Will spout off suddenly about "MARRIAGE IS JUST COMMUNISM IN A DIFFERENT FONT! But not us of course, our marriage is perfect and I love you." or something. She yaps a lot and loves talking to you about anything and everything. Will also happily listen to you ramble about things you're interested in.

Your Gigantic Wife™ does have trouble slowing down. She might miss things, sometimes, and misread your emotions or not notice if you're feeling a certain way. But she's also extremely observant. Expect her sharp eyes to stare at you within the next hour as she realizes "my beloved is unwell." So, yes, it just takes a moment.

V = Value (How important is the relationship to them? What is it worth in comparison to other things in their life?)

Her relationship with you is immensely important to her. She loves you unconditionally, and values you just as much as she values her work, which is an insane amount of love.

W = Wedding (When, where, and how do they propose?)

When? Whenever she feels truly safe with you, and you feel truly safe with her. Where? On top of a mountain, at sunset, with her hair blowing in the wind like a glorious lion's mane. She timed it perfectly. How? She didn't get down on one knee, she kneeled on both knees because she wanted to be your height for it. She'd never get down on the ground, either- she wanted to do it this way to also show her reverence for you. Proposed when the two of you were alone, so there wasn't any pressure for you to say yes if you didn't want to.

X = XOXO (How affectionate are they? In public/in private)

She's more affectionate in private, but doesn't have a problem with being affectionate in public. Her love language is words of affirmation. Will compliment you in both public and private. If you're more physically affectionate, your wife will provide it for you. In public, it's holding hands. In private, she'll cuddle you. Both are difficult due to the height difference, but you make it work.

Y = Yearning (How well do they cope when they're separated from their S/O?)

She copes just fine. If she's going to be gone for a significant amount of time, she writes letters to you twice every week. Doesn't have trouble being without you for awhile, just misses you.

AITA for sending my friend $100 as a wedding gift

(She used to use Tumblr but deleted her blog years ago so I feel comfortable sharing this.)

My (28 NB) best friend T (26 F) got married sometime within the last year or so. We had known each other for about 8 years at this point after meeting online and sort of dated on and off for about 4 of those years. We loved each other very much, I even flew out to meet her in person, but the distance got to be too much for her and I understood that and we still stayed close friends. We helped each other through bad breakups with toxic friends and lovers, and when she told me she met someone (G, 24 M) and things were getting super serious with him I couldn't have been happier for her.

The thing is though, G has always been jealous of how close T and I were. T had been upfront with him that I was an ex and that we've been romantically and physically involved in the past, but we had both assured him that nothing was going on between us anymore and that we had both moved on. But that didn't stop G from constantly thinking I was going to try to steal T away from him despite living half way across the country (I was on the west coast and T and G live in the south).

About 2 years ago, my family started making plans to move to around the same area they live in. Not super close but a day's trip, think LA to Vegas. I wasn't thrilled about the move but it was cheaper and my grandmother lives out here and she needed our help, so I did my best not to object too much to it. Besides, I figured this way I was closer to T and that I could finally meet G face to face, hopefully to settle this bad blood he seemed to think was between us and help him realize that I wasn't going to try to steal T away from him. Especially since by this time G had already proposed. Around this time though, T had told G that she had send me some rather revealing photos showing off some new body mods she had gotten, purely out of excitement. I hadn't asked to see them, she offered and said it should be fine, and well, turns out it wasn't. G got pissed and almost called off their wedding. They stayed together though and worked through it, and then a few months later T disappeared on me. Stopped responding to my messages, blocked my phone number, everything. I was already at a low point in my life because of the move and this made me get lower. After the move I got drunk one night and realized that T hadn't blocked me on Twitter so I ended up messaging her, and she got back to me immediately and explained that G had told her that if she didn't cut contact with me then he was going to leave her because he didn't think I had ever actually gotten over her and that I was going to try to steal her from him. I was hurt but I understood, especially since T was at a point where if G left her she'd have to go back to a very toxic living situation. I told her I still considered her my best friend, she still considered me hers, and that was the last time I talked to her.

Now, here's the part where I might be the asshole. Last November I was checking my Venmo to make sure my info was up to date and I realized that I still had T on there to send money to. Not only that, but T had changed her last name to G's, meaning that they must have gotten married by now. So, I decided to send them $100 as a late wedding gift. T is still my friend and I was happy for them, and I didn't mean anything bad by it, but for the last two months I've been worried that G would be upset and that it would have opened up years old wounds.

TLDR; My friend's new husband doesn't trust me and wanted her to stop talking to me, and in response I sent them $100 and a congratulations, AITA?

oh, yes— the most prevalent of which including: books, wine &. casual sex. she's lived nearly 700 years &. doesn't see her life ending anytime soon. the glamor of immortality wore off rather quickly. things stopped being new or exciting. humans became predictable. the world progressed into more advanced forms of conflict &. violence with every coming decade. cecily will search every corner of the earth for something that allows her to ignore the magnitude of the world for a little while. books are her first option; while historical studies &. texts have a place in her library, the vast majority of her "pleasure books" are fiction. sex distracts her for only brief stints at a time, much the same as romantic affairs or obsessions — she'll pursue an entanglement on a whim if only to exist in a different stratosphere for a few hours. wine &. weed are also both mediums through which she'll numb the world, usually paired with either of the aforementioned reading or f-cking. if you asked cecily, she'd say it's not really about escaping for her — more like making the world around her more tolerable or enjoyable.

Chartreuse Medium

"Can I have a medium latte please?" asked Lorelei, smiling at the barista. He didn't smile back. Just asked for payment, then nodded that it had gone through and looked at the next customer.

She didn't mind. Once she had her coffee, she'd sit and wait for her friend to enter, usually in a whirlwind of sorts, never quite looking altogether here. She approached when her name was called and found a seat towards the window, partaking in her ritual of people watching. She always enjoyed seeing different varieties of people pass by, each wrapped up in their own lives.

Her friend entered wearing the most vibrant long coat she had ever seen that she almost spluttered out her coffee. Her neon pink two piece outfit with fishnet stockings weren't better, especially not with that coat. They hugged in greeting, but as Harriet sat down, she gave an explanation.

"It's a statement."

"Lime green and hot pink?"

"It's chartreuse, actually. Just you watch. It'll be the next big thing."

Lorelei snorted, then apologised, although they both knew she wasn't. "So... what's the latest big thing?"

She grinned. "Oh, I'm so glad you asked! I'm purposefully being provocative, like wearing this chartreuse long coat, to see people's reactions. So far, I've had plenty of comments. Good and bad."

"Mm. Wait, good? Some people like this?!"

"Yep. Reminds them of brat summer."

Lorelei nodded. "That makes sense. What next?"

Her friend shrugged. "No idea. Anything I could protest or be outraged about?"

Her friend sighed. "That's my problem! There's too much to pick just one without feeling like you're excluding the others. I guess I'll just have to keep picking causes out of a hat."

Lorelei tried not to laugh, taking that moment to drink her coffee. "Glad you're taking it seriously."

Her friend raised an eyebrow. "At least I'm trying. What have you done?"

"I regularly read to kids on a Sunday morning and befriend the elderly. The amount who just want company, it's depressing."

"Okay, whatever."

"Everything else okay?"

Her friend's eyes lit up, despite her expression looking frustrated and annoyed. "Not really."

Lorelei knew her friend too well at this point that if she didn't ask, she'd hear about it anyway. It was better to be upfront about it now rather than waiting and regretting it. "What's going on?" She played the part of caring friend, resting her elbows on the coffee table.

Her friend smiled without meaning to before she dove into her story. Lorelei reacted accordingly, but her amusement was barely contained. She adored her friend for many reasons, and one was the way she told stories. Even something mundane sounded like a wild adventure that escalated beyond what most people would ever do. By comparison, her life felt dull and boring, and perhaps that's why she kept the dubious connection with her friend.

"Your turn."

Lorelei opened her mouth and appreciated that her friend reacted appropriately, but they both knew she wasn't a natural storyteller. Her friend listened the entire time, then led them down a side quest conversation, deciding to ramble about something random she saw recently.

"Please don't ever change." Her friend gasped, clutching her chest. "No, as in, please keep telling me stories and blurting out whatever comes to mind. I genuinely love it."

Her friend beamed, appreciating the compliment, then went on another side quest. Lorelei took another gulp of her coffee, relishing in the rare moments she had with her friend.

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most as a child?

White: Stop roughhousing. Girls shouldn't play like that.

Felix: Stop daydreaming, stop making a spectacle of yourself.

Zeki: Get your nose out of that book and help out your siblings.

10. What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them?

Eddie: Eddie's an old grifter, dude's told more lies than you can count, though none particularly Earth shattering to him in his old age. The most stand-out at this point is the Sheriff scam. He's pretty proud of that one.

Felix: That he was happy, it ended up becoming just a kind of hollow refrain where he'd just nod that he was satisfied with his lifestyle and that his goal was to take over the family interests. It does kinda haunt him, but only in the sense that he let it go on for so long.

Zeki: That he Understands. typically when people were explaining their intentions to him, explaining why they had to keep a secret or why something could or couldn't happen. It absolutely haunts him because he just thinks about how many people just ran roughshod over him because he just accepted it was easier if he just let them carry on than question them.

Lily: The first kill. Keeping up the lie was thrilling.

White used to be plagued by comphet. enough said.

28. Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth?

Eddie, Felix and Zeki: Truth. Eddie can take it. The right information is the best information. Felix appreciates someone being genuine with him even if it's what he doesn't want to hear. Zeki just can't stand anyone who's not upfront.

White wants the lie. Even if she knows it's a lie, she'd rather not hear a hard truth vocalized.

I think it would depend for Lily.

38. What memory do they revisit the most often?

Eddie: Back in the Los Ojos Negros heyday, Eddie had a big black horse named Jacobsbane. It was the first time he had a deep connection with a living being, and the first time he watched a living thing grow frail and die. He thinks about her often.

White: Meeting Eddie for the first time. She feels complex feelings about it, but it was a net positive in her life.

Felix: His father loudly disowning him from his deathbed. It was the event that set him on his current path.

Zeki: His dismissal from the university, his biggest point of shame and his biggest regret.

Lily: Same as #10

39. How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?

Eddie & White: Not going to ignore flaws, but are easy to accept them. Everyone's got problems, and knowing your friends or enemies flaws makes things smoother.

Felix: Incredibly easy, everyone is so nice and especially to him :)

Zeki: Impossible. They stand out like a spotlight.

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

Luckily the way we have the setting operating, not really! we've shifted things around to fit better over the years, but have always been like, okay, we have to fill this role, what character can we make to fill that role? and work from there. we had some trouble with getting Zeki to fit in flush, but changing him from a bookkeeper with a venomous animal hobby to being the town nurse with a minor medical background fixed that up.

E) Are they someone you'd get along with? Would they get along with you?

for some reason I can't not see this outside of the context of meeting them at a bar. and like 90% are WAY too cool for me.

Felix I'd get along with, but Felix would get along with anyone. White is way too badass and scary to get up close to i think. Zeki would be a terrible friend to have, but I'd gladly listen to him bitch about anything and everything if I met him on a smoking patio. Lily would call me "baby" and I'd freeze up and think about it for years. No way I'd be able to get the balls to even interact with Eddie

I guess this post's going to be a "sequel" to my post about Sunny and Mari because I have Thoughts about the game's potential again, this time concerning Sunny's other friends because god damn they're so underdeveloped and irrelevant 😭

Aubrey holds the "privilege" of being the game's only main character to have something vaguely resembling a character arc, and yet the execution of said character arc still leaves much to be desired. She has some makings of being a nice foil to Sunny (Sunny dealt with his issues by folding into himself in denial while Aubrey dealt with them by taking out her rage on Basil, Sunny's appearance is as bland and average as it can get while Aubrey's appearance is rather garish and visually striking) and I believe that kind of angle would've been really fascinating to work with. I'd have also preferred Aubrey being upfront about being a jerk - her incessant "noooo i'm not a meanie YOU are meanies >:(" deflections don't make her a Deeper character, they just become annoying after a while.

Maybe the game could've featured a flashback (an actual flashback, because Headspace isn't the most reliable source of information) where Aubrey defends Sunny or Basil from jerks harassing them at school and openly expresses her distaste for assholes who think it's okay to pick on someone who can't fight back... only to become that exact sort of asshole down the road. If Basil is the one she stands up for, this could even be their first meeting for additional irony!

Aubrey's rough home life is another aspect of her character the game should've elaborated on, especially given that its only purpose in the story is to be shorthand for "she's just a poor bbygirl please feel bad for her". What if Aubrey was closer to her father than she was to her mother? What if her dad left her mom precisely because the latter developed alcoholism and eventually became difficult to live with? What if Aubrey herself started using booze (albeit not to the extent her mother does) to cope with Mari's death, hating herself because she knows she's becoming exactly like her mother and turning into a person her beloved father would probably look down on? Honestly, the kids' parental issues would've been way more interesting to learn about than listening to them go "waaaa I miss my wife Tails Mari :'c" for the 1403rd time in a row as if we didn't get the memo already

Last but not least, before I move onto Hero and Kel, I'd like to echo @beevean's opinion about the whole "Aubrey shoves Basil into the lake" plot point - Aubrey absolutely should've been the one to save Basil after realizing what she's done. That'd have been a brilliant way to show that she still genuinely cares about her friends despite her violent exterior. This could've also tied into the reason she isolates herself on the final day - even though she makes no bones about being an asshole, the lake incident rattles her and finally makes her recognize that she crossed a line she never thought she'd be able to cross. She and her friends lost Mari already, and they would've lost Basil too, this time by her hands. The guilt overwhelms her, and she decides to shut herself off from the outside world since she thinks that she's a danger to her friends... sounds rather familiar, doesn't it? :)

IMO, Hero arguing that Aubrey still cares about her friends because she quickly dove into the lake to rescue Basil to break her out of her funk before the group hug would've made for a more solid point than "you care because you restored the photo album!", which completely ignores the fact that she stole it from Basil and bullied him for four years over it.

Speaking of Hero, the first thing I'd like to change is the reason for his nickname because the "he likes hero sandwiches lol" explanation is fucking stupid. It'd have definitely made more sense for it to be an in-joke for Sunny's friend group, since Hero's Just Naturally Good™ at everything he does. Maybe Kel or Aubrey could've created some sort of running gag by jokingly calling him "Hank", the decidedly less cool-sounding diminutive form of his real name, Henry.

I think that Hero apparently yelling "a lot of hurtful stuff" at Kel when the latter tried to help him stop being a recluse could've lent itself to some interesting characterization had the game bothered to explore it. What if Hero used Kel's biggest insecurities against him in his rant? He'd be the one to know his younger brother best, after all :)

Maybe the incident could have been used to establish a contrast of sorts between the brothers, with Kel having blocked out everything Hero said about him for the sake of his own mental health and Hero having the memory burned into his mind because he still feels very guilty about the outburst even four years after the fact. What if Hero spent said four years believing that Kel secretly hates him for what happened and being afraid of talking to him about it? Perhaps that would've explained Kel's remark about Hero being "a little more closed off now than he used to be."

Hero himself could've been an interesting character, mainly because his relationship with Mari isn't really touched on by the game, which is baffling since he was her boyfriend. Maybe the story could've tried to indicate that he still has trouble moving on from her suicide by him trying to abruptly change the subject whenever Mari comes up in a conversation. The story could've also tried to show the ways Mari as a person shaped Hero into the person he is (e.g. Mari is mentioned to have had a mischievous side to her, so Hero could've probably had an affinity for mischief too?) I think that sort of thing would've been nice to see in all of the game's characters, actually - the point is that even though Mari is dead, she "lives" on in a way through her friends and her brother, through the habits they picked up from her. Of course, that would necessitate Mari to have a personality beyond "picnic blanket" lmao

Maybe the game could've had Hero (unconsciously) start doting on Sunny as if he was the latter's older brother because, as part of him blaming himself for his friend group's dissolution, he feels especially guilty for "forgetting" about Sunny in his grief. I like to think that this, coupled with Hero picking up Mari's behaviors, would actually hurt Sunny even more, probably since a) it'd fuel his fears about everyone caring about him only because he's the last reminder of Mari they have left and b) every time Sunny sees Hero trying to be affectionate, he's just reminded of his sister, and it hurts.

You know, maybe the game could've even implied that Sunny harbors a bit of resentment towards Kel for having an older sibling in the first place. Sunny himself is aware that it's completely irrational and beats himself up over it ("oh my god, how could I even think something like that? he's my friend!"), but it's still there.

Kel loves his older brother. Kel has an older sibling to love.

Sunny doesn't. Not anymore, at least.

He had a sister.

yes i do!

croatia is a very upfront and blunt person. she doesn't tend to get sarcasm and will tell you how she feels without sugarcoating a word of it. around people she doesn't like she tends to be very passive aggressive among other things. although it's pretty rare to see her actually get riled up, when she does its a sight to behold. she will put everything on the line just to prove herself right and come out on top.

around her friends it comes to show that she's actually rather lighthearted. she tends to not take things seriously unless she thinks its an issue, and likes to point out holes in people's psyche. she finds it fun. despite that though, she's a very caring person. she'd let you stay at her house for as long as you wanted if you felt down.

croatia, like serbia, isn't actually related (atleast parent-child related) to yugoslavia. her mother was the independent state of croatia, the nazi puppet state instilled after yugoslavia was invaded. the state herself was older than that but ykno. anyways independent croatia treated her like the chetniks did serbia. well, i suppose, she also took croatia out occassionally on the battlefield. but then she died so lol rip bozo

in her childhood she was rather good friends with east germany. a while ago i think i wrote something about it in my notes app? like, east germany was like family to the yugoslav kids since she came over so much to their house. it got to a point where she didn't even have to ask she just had her own set of keys. croatia was like eg's only friend so the two were very very close LOL

i could talk more in detail about her relationship with serbia but i already did that on his post.. i'll just reiterate then. the two are basically frenemies: while normally they hate eachothers guts and oppose eachother on every issue, if one is actually in distress the other will help. serbias stayed at croatias too many times to count on both hands.

Session 16 Recap: Part 3/4

Blackjack split from the group and approached Charles. He advised the factory manager to act like they were discussing the ship’s schematics as they spoke. Blackjack began pointing to random spots on the paper as he informed Charles that Prometheus had convinced him to hear what he had to say about employment opportunities.

Charles dove straight into his sales pitch about blackmailing and discrediting his rivals and forcing his way into a higher position in Western Comet. This time, however, he emphasized the danger rather than waving it off. He emphasized the need for bodyguards who could fight off assassins and take out rivals as they appeared. Blackjack agreed to the terms, but haggled on the price and demanded up front payment. 

Charles had no conception of what the “industry standard” was, and so he agreed to the terms on the condition that Blackjack didn’t poke any further into the plan until they’d dealt with the pirates and stolen the orbit-hopper. Blackjack agreed, and Charles told him to prepare Prometheus to turn against the others when they reached the escape pods. They would hold the rest of the group at gunpoint and use Poly as a hostage to ensure cooperation. 

Dolly was keeping a close eye on the conversation, but didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary from Charles. He didn’t seem to be carrying more than a single small pistol, and she got the sense that everything she overheard was truthful. He was leaving out details, of course, but he’d been upfront about that. What she did notice, however, was that Brynhild’s behavior was strange. She’d slowed her movement as Blackjack approached, and on two occasions exchanged subtle glances with Charles while he was divulging key elements of his plan. She didn’t say anything to her companions, but continued to keep a close eye on the bounty hunter as Prometheus and Blackjack continued to scheme. 

The moment they reached the escape pods, Dolly approached Brynhild and struck up a conversation. She made incidental small-talk about being happy to escape and finally be able to use furniture that wouldn’t try to eat her. Brynhild engaged politely, but seemed to find the interaction odd and off-putting. Dolly continued to press, leaping on everything Brynhild said and asking follow-up questions or drawing her in with an anecdote about the interview and publishing process. Dolly liked Brynhild, and she knew that if her friends found out that she was involved in the plot they would turn on her. She wouldn’t be able to defend her at that point, so her best chance was to make sure that Brynhild was too busy to respond to any signals without giving herself away. 

Dolly could tell that Brynhild was conflicted. She didn’t seem concerned with the morality of the situation, but Dolly could read on her face that she wasn't sure that Charles was going to succeed. Her body language was tense and ready for action, but Dolly hoped that she wouldn’t move unless it was clear that Charles had won. Making sure that Charles lost failed wasn't her responsibility. Her duty now was yet another bounty hunter she'd grown attached to after interviewing them.

 Charles positioned himself at the front of the group and directed Prometheus and Blackjack to take the rear. He hoped to surround the others and take them by surprise. Once everyone was in position and distracted looking for mimics, he shouted “NOW!”... but nothing happened. He tried once more, and still, nothing happened.

Blackjack asked Charles if something was supposed to happen when he said now, which stunned the factory manager into silence. Prometheus began to taunt him, which angered Charles, leading him to make a stupid call and draw his pistol.

Prometheus sent a shock of vile energy towards Charles, freezing him in place like a stiff corpse in a morgue. 

Prometheus tried to play coy, asking what was happening and why Charles had stopped moving. Simon, Isabel, and Brynhild seemed puzzled by the whole affair, but brushed it off as Charles falling into a state of shock (with Prometheus's encouragement). Blackjack’s suspicions towards Prometheus didn’t subside, but he took advantage of the situation anyway and caught everyone up to speed on what they’d learned.

The party began to load themselves onto two escape pods: Dolly, Geraldine, and Isabel in one. Blackjack, Prometheus, and Simon in the other. 

Geraldine offered to return Blackjack’s gun, but he turned her down. He reminded her that he was still carrying Poly, but thanked her for taking such good care of “her” so far. Geraldine shamed Blackjack for referring to his weapon as a she, taking that as her cue to jettison seal her and Dolly’s pod. Blackjack prepped the other pod, but once Dolly and Geraldine were out of visual range, he stopped in his tracks.  

He handed Poly off to Simon and ushered them onto the escape pod, but he and Prometheus stayed on the ship for a moment longer. Prometheus and Blackjack welded the doors to every other escape pod shut, and in a remarkable act of cruelty, Blackjack blew his signal whistle to summon any mimics that might be nearby. Prometheus expressed his approval, but requested that Blackjack not tell the others as they likely wouldn’t approve of leaving Charles to such a cruel fate. Simon also didn’t approve, and made as much clear, but it was too late to undo the damage so he didn't press the issue. They jettisoned, leaving Charles to be eaten alive.

Truly consensual stuff in HDG where the human is the one INITIATING the relationship are pretty hard to come by just because of the nature of the setting, but in addition to VERY STRONGLY SECONDING the above recommendation for Petals and Vines, I would add a few other stories in which, even though the human(s) don't jump headlong into domestication at first, they very much come to realize that they want it without in any way being forced.

I'm arranging these from most to least consensual, but I would argue that nobody is forced or coerced in any of them.

A Normal Grocery Run During Which No Domestication Occurs by SapphicSounds is a short and sweet story in which a hungry human whose city is only partly conquered by the Affini crosses the border over the promise of food. What follows is an ADORABLE lesbian grocery date in which she learns just how much BETTER the Affini-run territory is, and she ends up deciding she would rather be there, and her Affini tour guide is happy to have her.

Good Sensory by Sheepwave is a newer story that's only 3 chapters in currently, but is EXTREMELY cute. An ace autistic independent human has a bit of trouble being around most Affini, who tend to be overly flirty and touchy, and she has a lot of issues with the textures of their vines. An ace autistic Affini takes an interest in her and decides to be very direct and upfront about her interest, and goes out of her way to accommodate the human's texture and other sensitivities. The Affini is definitely trying to domesticate her, but is honest about that and puts a lot of effort into doing so in a way that the human is okay with. It's a very sweet story.

This one is a little closer to being dubious, but I would argue that the protagonist actively CHOOSES what happens to her (even though she likely WOULD have been forced into it if she hadn't). Inosculate by SapphicSounds is the story of a rebel pilot going alone on a doomed rescue mission to try to save her girlfriend from the Affini. Turns out her girlfriend was willingly domesticated 10 days ago. The Protagonist makes a couple of mistakes along the way to try to be reunited with her, and then finds that her girlfriend is not only safe and happier, but also very clearly BETTER OFF because of this. So over the course of a few days she decides that she actually kinda wants this too. She's never forced, but she IS a little bit teased into asking for things. The Affini refuses to do anything to her UNTIL she asks for it explicitly. Also, when she DOES agree to it, some REALLY HOT STUFF HAPPENS.

This last one is definitely the MOST dubious of these stories, because technically some things start happening to the protagonist before she knows about it, but she realizes VERY QUICKLY that she is extremely into it, and it's very clear that she's GOING to ask to be domesticated. The Affini figures this out the same time the human does, but decides to NOT let it happen too soon, because she'd rather have a bit of fun first. AT NO POINT IN THE STORY IS THE PROTAGONIST NOT OKAY WITH THAT'S HAPPENING TO HER, although whether some of it can be said to be truly consensual is complicated, and to be fair the things that DO happen to her are FAIRLY INTENSE if they're kinks you're not into (especially exhibition and humiliation, she LOVES to be embarrassed). The story is called Through The Looking Glass by PyxxieStyxx and TheMothCourt, and it is my second favorite story in the setting. It's well written, fantastically structured, ties a lot of things together really well (the title works on AT LEAST THREE LEVELS), and is both incredibly cute and very, very hot. It also features some of the best hypnosis specifically that I've seen in the setting so far. Also it's got ENORMOUS transition vibes and a protag who realizes very quickly that she is a much, much bigger lesbian than she thought.

As a HEAVY ASTERISK honorable mention, Abscission by Fluxom features some pretty heavy trauma and psychological issues. The protagonist, Autumn, begins the story experiencing intense anxiety, psychosis, intrusive thoughts, and paranoia (she gets better). She is in an unusual position, too: while she was on a rebel ship, she's the one who signals its location to the Affini, which means she was also a willing surrender.

The story has a major turning point where it becomes less about Autumn recovering enough to be granted full independence and where the medical care she requires is going to take a lot more time. She's also in an odd position when it comes to her Affini ward. FRANKLY, AUTUMN IS A MUCH MORE ENTHUSIASTIC PARTICIPANT IN HER DOMESTICATION THAN THE AFFINI RESPONSIBLE FOR HER IS. She is given repeated opportunities to slow down or back out and she STALWARTLY INSISTS that she's enthusiastically consenting every single time. This is also one of the most foundational works in the entire setting and establishes a HUGE amount of its overall mechanics and vibes.

It's sometimes said that HDG is as much the ABSCISSION setting as the HDG setting. It's THAT important to the setting as it now exists. (And having read it, I absolutely agree.)

The reason it's a heavy asterisk, however, is that it's VERY INTENSE. While the stuff that happens with Autumn is CONSENSUAL, it is also NOT ALWAYS FLUFFY if that's the vibe you're looking for. Abscission kind of has a bit of everything: good fluff, lots of trauma, heavy angst, VERY INTENSE MEDICAL AND S&M KINK, and a good story.

The very early chapters of the story are pretty rough, and then it calms down a lot for a bit, and then there's a HUGE TURNING POINT in the story where things get REALLY INTENSE again, but open up the opportunity for some good fluff with another human. Later on it features a lot of Sadomasochism in particular. Again, Autumn is frankly MORE ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT IT than her Affini. She doesn't decide that this is what she wants right away, but she ALSO isn't forced into it, and as soon as she does want it she is very, very, VERY enthusiastic in her consent.

Also, reading Abscission means you get to meet Dawn.

Trust me, that's so worth it.

Ok so I've done some cursory looking over hdg and it seems like it would like, 99% be my thing except for the caked in assumptions regarding consent.

If benevolent plant beings showed up from space and said "We're here to free you from capitalism and also do some weird kink stuff with you if you're into that" I would not need to be mindbroken about it. I would be like "Can you maybe also do some weird body horror stuff to me please" and they'd be like "Yeah and we're also gonna keep you as a pet" and I'd say "Yippee!"

If there's like, a bunch of stories about enthusiastic consent in the setting it would become my favorite thing I think, but im not seeing any reference to stories like that so far in my research.

No, I don't know if there's any specific stories like that. There must be a couple (there's nearly 1000 stories on AO3 alone!), but I've not seen them. Any other HDG readers can recommend any?

But yeah. HDG is firmly in a dubcon hypnosis era: it's usually about subs going "no I don't want this!" and they eventually get convinced (possibly with mind control! ) that they're actually denying their feelings and they DO want this.

I can totally see why that kind of consent situation wouldn't be for everyone! But it's a bit baked into the setting, so I don't know how much HDG you'll he able to find that doesn't have it.

Best of luck, and I totally understand if you just don't enjoy HDG because of the consent issues. It's not for everyone.

For what it's worth, while I personally don't have a problem with reading the dubcon, it is a bit annoying to me, as someone who would similarly just dive into being a plant-mommy's pet. An HDG protagonist will be all "damn you freaky xenos! Stop trying to give me the body I always wanted and fixing everything about my life and trying to give me sexy plant cuddles with fun drugs!"

And I'm like... Sis, stop complaining. Embrace being a pet and enjoy. This is everything I wanted.

No. She'll throw her arm around your waist or shoulders, but she'd rather not get that touchy.

She wants to settle down when she finds a stable job that she enjoys doing, she’ll most likely end up being a brahmin or big horn herder. She's average at cooking, she can fix up something edible, but don't expect her to make anything gourmet. Cass likes to keep things generally organized, but she won’t go out of her way to clean the place up.

She feels weird about commitment. She'd like to get married, but she's also uncertain about making a big decision like that. She likes to take her time with her partners before making anything official.

G - Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Not very. She likes to keep things honest and if you're going to be with her, you're going to need to be able to handle the truth, however harsh it might get.

H - Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Her hugs are strong and reassuring, but she’ll only really hug you when you’re sad. It’s more of a way for her to comfort someone rather than a greeting.

I - I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

It'll take her forever for her to tell you she loves you. She’s too scared of being vulnerable so you’ll have to say it first.

J - Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Cass gets jealous quick and isn’t afraid to make that known. If she thinks the other person crossed a line of some sort then she’ll start shoving them around and confronting them.

K - Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

She loves just directly kissing you on your lips but would get slightly flustered if you kissed her hands.

L - Little ones (How are they around children?)

Surprisingly sweet? She’s the perfect wine aunt and gives kids solid advice all the time.

M - Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Working usually. Cass likes to get most things done in the mornings and is doing that the second she gets up.

N - Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Drinking and playing caravan. It might just be because she's owned one, but she's stupidly good at the game and loves playing.

O - Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

If you ask, she’ll probably tell you. It all kinda depends on her mood and whether or not she’s been drinking.

P - Patience (How easily angered are they?)

She doesn’t have much patience at all. She likes it when you get straight to the point otherwise she feels you're both just wasting time.

Q - Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

A little bit of both, Cass remembers things she deems are important like your birthday or your favorite things, but she couldn’t care less to remember where you grew up.

R - Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

She loves traveling with you. To her, there’s nothing better than the two of you giggling and talking to each other as the sun rises over the dunes in the distance.

S - Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

Cass is VERY protective and sleeps with a rifle next to her bed just in case anyone barges in thinking they could take either of you on. She’s always on the lookout for any possible danger and is quick to step in front of you if she feels that you’ll get harmed.

T - Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

You’ll get a little affirmation of sorts and she’ll do most of your chores for you, but she’s not too big on gift-giving.

U - Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Shouting and impatience. Cass has a habit of letting her stress overwhelm her and it can get nasty fast if she doesn't handle it correctly. Outbursts and drinking aren't healthy coping ways and she needs to learn to focus her negative emotions on something else.

V - Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

She cares about looking presentable whenever she’s going to meet with someone of importance (usually business related), but if she’s just traveling out in the Mojave, she’s not going to care.

W - Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

No, Cass is fairly independent, and nothing would change if you left. She’d feel sad at the loss, but not incomplete.

X - Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

She so desperately wants to find someone who'll stick with her for the long run. She feels like she's been running around on her own ever since her mom died and she was left alone, so your relationship with her means more than you could ever understand.

Y - Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Over-sexualization or sexism of any kind whether it be toward her or someone else. She thinks it’s a bunch of bull and doesn’t have time for it.

She has a pretty standard and healthy sleep schedule as she prefers to stay on top of things. She goes to bed around 10:30 to 11:00 and wakes up at 6:00.

He doesn't like the guy you're dating even though he doesn't know who it is. No matter who you date, he's going to be extremely judgmental towards them. He really just wants the best for you, but he understands you'd be hurt if he kept hating on the guy you're dating.

So he'll put the effort to get to know him more, then judge him even more if he doesn't like how he is. But... you chose him for a reason, so maybe he'll put more effort into other meetings with him.

If it was a slayer, he supposes he can give the guy points for it. The guy may be weak, but he already has a higher capability of protecting you. So if the poor guy was just a low-ranking slayer, he's going to train him (begrudgingly) for your sake. You aren't a slayer after all!

But out of all the people you can get in a relationship with... it had to be Giyuu Tomioka. A fellow Hashira who he hated a lot.

He was so pissed when he found out. It was then he realized you never mentioned his name when you talk about him, just rambling about how he's so sweet, kind, and caring in his own way, even if he was very closed off and shy.

Why do you speak so highly of this guy? Did he do something to you to make you think he's good enough for you???

No. This relationship can not GO ON. Giyuu Tomioka is not someone you should be wasting your time with. Sure, he's a Hashira, but he hates his guts! Plus, didn't you listen to all the rants he had about Giyuu? It should've been clear how horrible it is for you-

OW! Stop pulling on his ear! He may or may not have forgotten he's your younger brother. Whoever you get in a relationship with is NONE of his business. You're older, and you KNOW what you're doing. 

You have no idea why Obanai hates him so much! When you see Giyuu, the first thing that comes to your mind is the word 'cute'.

You'd always try to change his mind towards Giyuu! But he probably just agrees to stop bullying your poor boyfriend for the sake of avoiding being in a room with Giyuu to 'get along' with him outside of Hashira business. 

Don't force it, because it'd lead to Obanai hating on Giyuu even more. He'll just have to trust you and your words about him, but he'd NEVER get along with Giyuu. (Unless they're required to cooperate.)

The only way he'd ever give Giyuu a twinge of respect and approval is if he risks his life for you if you're in danger. Maybe then he'd tolerate him a tiny bit more.

➢ Sʜɪɴᴏʙᴜ

She finds out immediately. She doesn't follow you around and watches you like a hawk, but she has ears all over the estate. Aoi, Kanao, Sumi, Naho and Kiyo. Whenever you take patients in and tend to them, by Shinobu's order, they must keep a close observation!

So, she easily found out you were dating Giyuu when he visited the estate and was injured. You spent your time tending to him longer than other patients, talking to him cheerfully all the time and the subtle touches the two of you share. It was so painfully obvious to the 5 observers behind your back. 

What's even more surprising is how talkative (he gives you longer sentences and always entertains your random questions) he is to you, and how often he smiles. Shinobu is glad she's not the one observing, or she would've gagged seeing his smile.

When it was her turn to tend to Giyuu, she'd wrap his bandages rather tightly and gives him indirect threats for no reason. It'd always leave him confused because she doesn't even know about your relationship? It never crossed his mind that she found out somehow. 

But she's very upfront about it to you. She's not really against it, but really? Giyuu? You've literally heard her rant about his attitude, and watched her tease him in front of you. Is he really worth your time? Your effort?

Yes? Fine, she would stop bothering you about it. At first, she'd try to fend off Giyuu if you're too stubborn to love him, but gives up when she sees how happy you are with him. 

It honestly annoys her, but she can't do anything about it. You're her older sister after all. Being with a Hashira isn't so bad. She just hoped it was someone who wasn't socially inept, like Kyojuro.

She's fascinated with how you could make Giyuu react to a lot of things. He's so comfortable with you that he doesn't mind speaking his mind out. Shinobu teases him a lot to get a reaction, but maybe she's been doing the wrong methods.

Either way, she's kinda happy for the two of you after seeing how happier the two of you have been.

It doesn't stop her poking fun at Giyuu though! It's become extra passive-aggressive ever since you started dating.

➢ Sᴀɴᴇᴍɪ

We know how protective Sanemi is, he's very glad you're not a Demon Slayer, but he would've preferred if you went away and have a family of your own, not stay at his estate to make sure he's well and alive. Then again, can he do anything about it since you're his older sister?

He respects you a lot and doesn't meddle in anything you do unless it concerns your safety.

Including this 'boyfriend' you began to talk about to him. Oh? A boyfriend huh? He's already thinking of many different ways to beat the poor guy to a pulp before he even considers getting to know him first! You're his older sister, and he really wants the best for you!

But you talk so highly of him! You're smitten with the guy, and you say time and time again that he's very nice and would never lay a hand on you. It makes Sanemi smile and relaxes a little. He trusts your judgment wholeheartedly. After all, you deserve a guy who makes you happy!

Except... The guy you're dating does not deserve you at all.

GIYUU TOMIOKA!? WHY HIM??

You've never seen him so furious! He's not mad at you, heavens no! He's mad at Giyuu for even thinking of making advances toward you behind his back.

Sanemi gave him a black eye. You scolded him. You were reasonably mad at your younger brother. You thought he'd take it well since you've spoken so highly of Giyuu, but all those facts have been thrown out the window with the mere mention of his name.

You seriously don't understand why they hate him so much. Sanemi apologized to Giyuu (after being scolded by you and lectured by Oyakata-sama when news reached him) and promised you he'd try to get to know him better.

To which he did and soon found out Giyuu's not too bad. He still hates his guts, but after spending time with you and Giyuu, it's clear that he's not looking down on everyone, just as he thought.

He's just... horrible when it comes to people and just, extremely blunt. 

They're very awkward when they're left alone and it's always Sanemi who's trying to make conversation with the poor guy. Giyuu ACTUALLY seems nervous around Sanemi, which surprised him.

Ever since then, his approach toward Giyuu has been 'friendlier' (in Sanemi's terms, he's also horrible toward socializing). You're really happy that they at least get along enough for Sanemi not to get the urge to punch his face out of the blue!

If it makes you happy, Sanemi would do his best to tolerate Giyuu. Now they're kinda friends? Well, they acknowledge each other at best. 

Sanemi, after all, trusts your judgment. 

Although he's ready to kick Giyuu's ass if he ever hurts you.

Vegeta is from space it's not like he would know about the stereotype that men want to have sex a lot. He deosnt know where he falls in this equation. From his POV Bulma just comes onto him an amount that he considers frequent and vulgar. He deosnt know why. And he doesnt even know about all the attempts that he unwittingly rebuffed by mistaking her intentions to be a desire to cuddle. And those times he did what any good husband would do, he promptly fell asleep in her arms.

She thinks it's sweet that he stays for the tender affection, but she also concludes that he must just be daft like any man and that he cant take hints. So then she starts being really upfront and she'll ask him explicitly if he wants to have sex. And sometimes hes cool with it and other times hes like WHA..? NOW...? and other times hes already asleep.

And like. Shes Bulma. She speaks her mind. A while into their relationship she just may say to him "you know, most men WANT to have sex with their wives." She just may say something about how the way that he settles for cuddles is sort of not masculine.

And this would throw him completely. Hed be like "GAH...!" First of all the first comment he deosnt understand becasue he does like to have sex with his wife. In a manner respectful and appropriate. He is a prince. She told him what a butt plug was once and he could not believe what he was hearing. Second of all he doesnt understand why it needs to be so frequent. Humans are so vulgar. If they devoted as much time to fighting as they did to fucking maybe theyd be worth a damn. It's just such an ordeal every time. It's a whole sensory thing. And doesnt she realize that the caresses are oft overwhelming to the prince of violence?

He would be so embarrassed by her comments that he just wouldnt touch her for a month. He didnt know that that's how she viewed him. He wasnt aware of those stereotypes/expectations. He would be mortified.

Eventually she would realize that she'd just have to be the bigger man and apologize. And she'd try to cuddle him and he'd flinch hard and be like "Oh so now YOURE trying to cuddle ME ?" Hed be so offended.

She realizes that shes just gonna have to apologize for nothing (in her eyes it was nothing) .

Honestly though they know each other for a while in the end and Vegetas a little rough around the edges. He could probably just nail her if she wanted him to . But it's not his ideal way to spend a night TBH. He'd rather be asleep . But it's at essentially no cost to him at that point so w/e . It's just rough earlier in the relationship I think.
