The 3rd Doctor’s Era is so great so far it mostly consists of the Brigadier asking for the Doctor’s help with something and then working with the UNIT soldiers to focus exclusively on trying to skip the plot (this makes things worse)

The Doctor helps out by asking basic questions like “What if it’s aliens?” “Why are they here?” and “What do they want?” He sincerely questions firsthand witnesses that have otherwise been told they’re delulu. His efforts and theories are dismissed and shamed by the Brigadier. The two argue. The Doctor inevitably ends up being right but people are dead now.

Liz Shaw is literally tired of carrying the show.

everyone is more capable of reading books and academia they’re intimidated by than they think they are. it’s like working out a muscle. it takes a little practice but anyone can increase the limits of their reading retention, vocabulary and imagination. it’s an effort worth pursuing and a skill to be coveted as society grows more and more anti intellectual. and i think pursuing more challenging materials actually enriches and adds more value to your lighter reading as well

drafting and planning my little temeraire inspired agszc fic, and the puzzlepieces of this massive narrative are starting to take shape!! With everything from subplots to political intrigue to romance and detailed planning of what happens when and where kinda working out, I just need to actually make sure it all connects smoothly now! but did I also just spend a couple of hours trying to fit in the concept of a dragon taking up fishing to pass the time, simply because the idea seemed so silly, for plot reasons?
