In all our 20+ years of dancing, why did no one tell us that there were ballets based on Norse mythology?! We especially NEED to see The Lay of Thrym because just look at the summary!

Loki actually in love with Sigyn?! That’s almost unheard-of in retellings! And the costumes and choreography look gorgeous.

Does anyone know if any physical or online recordings of the 1990 Royal Danish Theatre’s reconstruction exist? We’ve scoured the internet as well as we can, but have had no luck.

Perhaps it has been lost to the sands of time.

Loki being an abusive husband to Sigyn only really works if you never think about the logistics of how a jötunn as thoroughly despised as he was could get away with abusing his ��synja wife in a culture where women could legitimately divorce you for being broke or infertile.
